you know, riverdale really doesn't get enough credit for its queer representation

sure there's a bunch of memeworthy cringy moments (mostly from the first season, when it was functionally a different show, but i can't give "it's not queerbait if it's to save the world" a completely free pass even if it is one of the funniest lines ever said on television), and we absolutely should be side-eying them hard for erasing jughead's asexuality (although we might finally be getting that in the current season)

but for all that, there's so much stuff i love

Toni and Fangs being explicitly a queer couple, despite being opposite gender, because the show didn't just forget that they're both bi when they got together. I geuinely cannot think of another example of that on tv, and it really meant a lot to me to see it

Cheryl having lost her childhood to her mother's emotional abuse and homophobia immediately agreeing to foster Britta when Britta's parents throw her out for being gay. (everything season six did with Britta was insane, but for season 5 at least her and Cheryl and Nana Rose were a little gay family and I loved it sm)

Betty figuring out she's bi while in a relationship with a man and that just being some new self knowledge she has, rather than it being seen as a threat to her and Archie's relationship

Kevin continuing to be refered to as Anthony's dad and having a relationship with him, even though he's not his biological father and he and Fangs split up before Anthony was even born. (They were using a friend as a surrogate, the relationship ended before the birth, later a DNA test is done that shows fangs is the biodad, but when he's not being mindcontrolled by evil wizards he continues to have a relationship with the baby - he chose to have this kid, and that's the thing that counts, not whether he's on the birth certificate)

And yes the Abigail episodes are all very silly, but they're also all about how queer people have always been here and will always be here, and no attempt to erase us will ever succeed. and yes sometimes we're immortal witches driven mad and evil by the loss of our one true love, but afterall, don't my evil immortal wlw witch girlies deserve some representation too?

And yes the hedwig episode is so dumb, it's maybe the dumbest of the musical episodes and I'm including the american psycho one in that, but at the same time, it's an epsiode about how drag is important art and teenagers should if anything be exposed to more drag than they are because queer art is important, yes even the stuff with sex in it, and in the current political climate i can't help loving it for taking that stance, even if the songs are all really bad

the show's representation isn't perfect by any means, and yes the fact that it look them 7 seasons to even think about acknoledging that jughead is ace in the comics really sucks, but it also does a lot of things really right, and i just think those should get the same level of attention as the cringeworthy stuff

also "it's not queerbait if it's to save the world" is still an incredibly funny line

My art teacher told us to do the artstyle challenge!! :D

Honestly this was a challenge I've always wanted to do since I was younger but I always felt like my skills weren't enough to do it yet

But now I get a full on excuse to do it soooo HAJFJSOVNSKD HERE WE GO-

I chose a mix of what styles are popular when doing this challenge, and styles that I personally wanted to try

I will say, some of them might look a bit rushed cause it was almost the deadline and I just has to speed through some of them and get it done.

Though I am proud of most of them! :D (Especially the o/mo/ri and sa/nr/io artstyles like omfg I love them sm)

Self Insert Birthday Countdown Day 5!

ft. Marjorie Morell from Mr. Peabody & Sherman (Modern) and her beloved plush Ankylosaurus, Bumpy!

(Originally intended to post on April 5th, Tumblr was giving me issues)

This film was one of the last things I’d expect to insert myself into, but I rewatched it a couple years ago on Netflix and like the film is lowk underrated. It got me to watch the og Rocky & Bullwinkle shorts, which are savage asf sometimes like DAMN, and the adaptation series Dreamworks made for the movie, which isn’t as good tbh. Like the art style and some of the scenes were good, I like how they did sort of a homage by having a segment that was in the style of the older shorts, but like it’s so dated and cringy at times I could only sit through a few episodes before quitting.

ANYWAYS MARJORIE FUCK! So like her deal is that she is BIG on Dinosaurs, it’s her major special interest. They’re away from their family in their own apartment complex right across from Mr. Peabody and Sherman’s penthouse, and it isn’t always easy. Whenever she has more harder days than others, she has no one to comfort her other than Bumpy. One morning while on his way home from taking Sherman to school, Mr. Peabody comes across Marjorie who was going through a panic attack. He helps them through it and they soon befriend one another. Mr. Peabody takes notice to Marjorie’s love for dinosaurs and offers to take her to the Cretaceous period via the WABAC. From then on, Marjorie would visit frequently and Peabody even takes it upon himself to be Marjorie’s licensed therapist, and they have sessions two days a week. Psychology was one of the things Mr. Peabody studied after adopting Sherman so he was finally able to put his knowledge of it to use. I love their mentor/student dynamic that I gave them sm!

I know that I’ve talked sm shit about naruto over the years, (I pretty much have the authority to. I’ve been with it since 2005… god that’s a long time. I was like in 4th, 5th grade when it came out… Naruto pretty much ran the entire 00’s after it came out like bro, you literally couldn’t escape it. It was a fun time though since the series was pretty exciting and it still holds up pretty well despite there being so many issues (not surrounding the story itself since it was always pretty solid (later Shippuden got a bit messy but other than that, yeah.) but mainly with the characterization of certain characters and how Kishimoto ignored a lot of them in favor of his focusing on the Shakespearean ass romance between Sasuke and Naruto lmfao. In a goddamn shounen of all things. It might just seem like memes to people who only know of Naruto the series, the lore, and notable characters from a more surface level point of view but speaking from a person who, like I’ve said, has been a fan since 2005 uhh… their relationship is… lmfaooo. There was even an old article or something where Kishimoto said himself that he would’ve liked to make their relationship more… official but it’s a shounen. And his editors…! Funny that this probably doesn’t even get talked about as often despite how bizarre it is lol. I’m getting off topic but I never shipped anyone from the series I was too little to care about that kinda stuff back when I was watching/ reading the series. It’s more like they were always kinda meant to be like it’s so natural? So that’s how I’ve always viewed them I guess. It��s so fun to make fun of them lol. I’m all over the place, man. I’m not trying to sound like a fujo or whatever but they were definitely in love lol. I used to draw ship art of them for fun (never seriously but I don’t mind it at all since look at how Kishimoto wrote them lmfao. It’s like… yeahhhh they should’ve married each other. I don’t even think Sasuke came to Naruto’s wedding. Probably didn’t want to see him getting married off to anyone else because Kishimoto likes to make everything between them dramatic as hell. It’s actually hilarious. But getting back on topic! Even now, Naruto still has such a strong pull on it’s fans, especially long time fans) but it’s just… it’s one of those things that I’ll probably always love even if I step away from it for a gazillion more years. Sorry for talking about Naruto I just get the urge to love it all over again every once in a while since it’s more than just nostalgia for me. Look at me. Am I cringy 😔? Sorry for talking about naruto should be my personal naruto tag now….. I’m being so annoying about this lol. I wanna draw naruto stuff uhhh… I haven’t drawn any naruto art in years… prob since 2014 or so… I still love the unfinished naruto comic that I drew from 5th-7th grade… there’s like 20+ pages if I’m counting the front and backs of loose leaf school paper lol. I remember the kids in my class would go “you’re drawing naruto?” *proceeds to pass my shit around the whole class while I anxiously wait for them to give me my art back orz…* it was worn loose leaf so they could’ve easily torn my comic by accident.

Hi so I kinda got drunk early today (Quarantine tingz) and I just, i just really realized i love Haikyuu (like no shit ).

But like this series has helped me sm with the shit I‘m going through in life. Its given me strength since I was fo YEARS. I love Haikyuu SO MUCH. My therapist KNOWS about it and we talk about it during my session. I wanted my grad cap to be haikyuu themed, I want a tattoo. This series genuinely has impacted my life for the better and it might be cringy to some but its the truth for me. I (try) to create and make art so I wont ....y'know. An Haikyuu to me is art and its so beautiful and the older you get the more things you notice.

Haikyuu has given me a safe place and security blanket. When I'm having panic attacks Instead of counting, I name the players, fun fact.

I have PTSD. Depression. General Anxiety. An a lot of Traumua (Diagnosed by my therapist/bro-sky Brian) and it’s really hard for me to deal with emotions and LlFE...so I use a lot of humor but when I'm feeling down I got my boys who just...they make me happy.

An I know the characters are not real but what they make me FEEL is real. It's my little escape for when I'm having a lot of anxiety and I start shaking, for when my depression wont let me leave my fucken bed to eat, when I get flashbacks or feel in danger I think of these nerdy volleyball boys I love and I feel safe. I feel like hell yeah I can do anything.

I wish, I wish I could tell Furudate thank you because they've changed me not only as a creator but as a person. That there art has given me strength in some of my darkest moments. I will always strive to be a ambitious,kind, positive and amazing as Hinata and not let my life bring me down.

Because if Hinata Shoyou can do it so can I.

What I love about every member of NCT127

Jaehyun- my bias. Jaehyun is quiet a lot of the time but I love that he’s not afraid to goof off and be silly and commit to doing weird shit without feeling embarrassed. I feel like Jaehyun’s “image” is that cool hot guy everyone drools over, but he’s really just a weirdo who likes to have fun. I love how competitive he is, and his voice is my favorite in the group. I also love how much of an unapologetic hoe he is on stage. I love how Jaehyun interacts with fans as well, doing lots of V-lives & paging attention to our questions etc.

Taeil- Taeil is SO FUNNY. He’s so weird. We have the same sense of humor. I feel like Taeil and I could be friends. He doesn’t seem so very concerned with his image, which is refreshing. He comes off as a pretty normal guy, but he seems like he’d be willing to try anything in the name of good fun, which is endearing. Also his voice wowed me first out of all the members.

Taeyong- I’m loving TY more and more as the days go by lmao. Firstly I gotta say TY is extremely cute. I’m not usually moved by aegyo, but everything Taeyong does (offstage) is HIGHKEY adorable. I also think TY is one of those persons who really doesn’t know how amazing he is?? I feel like he carries a lot on his shoulders especially as the leader but he does a wonderful job & it’s admirable. I also love his rapping voice & he’s my favorite to watch during performances. I’m a Jaehyun stan but Taeyong’s visuals wow me in a way that no one ever has. His face is literal art, and the way he transforms to fit every concept speaks to his ability as a performer.

Johnny- JOHNNY MAKES ME FEEL SO INCLUDED AND ACKNOWLEDGED AS A FAN. NCT on a whole makes an exceptional effort to communicate with fans, but Johnny is always thinking of ways and making videos to maintain a high level of interaction & connection with NCTzens. It takes a lot of effort & I really really appreciate it. Johnny seems like the type to take care of things, make plans, include everyone and try his best to make sure everyone is having a good time. He’s really thoughtful and detail oriented, I think.

Mark- He’s younger than me but I admire Mark so much. His self-discipline, drive, passion and talent are amazing. Watching the recording diary you can see how much of himself he pours into his craft and how proficient he is as an artiste. Mark is also ADORABLE. He has a sort of “innocent” passion for life that I think is pretty rare to see among guys his age. And he’s so down to earth, always goofing off and saying the most EMBARRASSING THINGS 😂 oh also I feel like Mark is the reason SM’s rappers are improving lmfao I’m not naming any names but... certain rappers have gotten better since Mark debuted? Don’t come for me 😶

Winwin- I’m going to be honest & say Winwin’s personality doesn’t stand out much to me but I wanted to include him 😭 what impressed me about him was that video with the Chinese traditional dance— holy shit that was AMAZING. The amount of hard work he had to have put in to achieve the skill level he has now is nothing to be taken lightly. I respect that a whole lot.

Yuta- WOKE KING. Ok I didn’t take notice of Yuta for a while but he’s one of those “silent rivers run deep” types. Yuta seems really emotional and I think that’s what makes him a great empathizer, what makes him so sensitive, respectful and understanding of others. Yuta is, comparatively, very outspoken and firm in his beliefs. I respect that a whole lot & im glad to know he’s not just glossing over or keeping quiet about certain things just because he’s an idol.

Haechan- I want to be friends with him 😭 he’s hilarious. Definitely the funniest member of NCT for me. His wit is so refreshing and I love seeing his relationship with the other members. I also truly love Haechan’s voice & the fact that he embraces his natural skin :)

Doyoung- Another member who isn’t afraid to say certain things despite his idol image. I respect that DY seems to have a pretty good idea of who he is and what is/is not okay to him. He’s not a pushover and he keeps shit real. DY out here telling fans that they shouldn’t depend on Kpop or idols as their only source of happiness because it’s not healthy. It’s fine to joke around and do fanservice etc but it’s refreshing to have an idol who doesn’t buy into that too much, is straight up & realistic with his fans.

Jungwoo- I feel like Jungwoo is a wild card, his overall image is quite multifaceted. Because he’s cute you wouldn’t think he’s an aggressive performer but he is!! Jungwoo seems v comfortable in his own skin. Whatever he does he just goes for it 100% even the cringy shit they make them do on talkshows lmao.

Day 14. “Cringe”

Today I am still clearing the posts in the past years that I am inclined with social media (Facebook) as I looked back in the year 2014, I really can say that the technology is not that high compared to now and it doesn’t matter if you are always active on Facebook, you don’t also need to update every day on that platform because not everyone has the smart phone that we have now.

Going back to 2014, I am a fan of Korean music, as I remember I am a fan of Korean since I was a kid, but to make the story short I’ll start at the year 2014 which I learned how to get in touched with my Idols and to be aware to the news because Facebook is where the information are very easy to access in just one scroll, or one search you are able to get a news and a bulk of information.

Scrolling to my feed in the year of 2014, I posted a lot about EXO, SUPER JUNIOR, 2NE1, GIRLS GENERATION, BOYFRIEND, SHINEE, SM ENTERNAINMENT, BIG BANG ETC. I wasn’t that disgust to what I am posting in the year 2014, instead I am grateful to see what made me to become like this, I am grateful to all Korean boy/girl group which helped me to love music and to enjoy music without any hesitation regardless on it’s language and the lyrics. As long as you are enjoying the beat, the vibe and the song you are fit to listen even though you cannot understand them.

Also, 2014 is the year where you can see few toxic people using Facebook and toxicity is less. Facebook is a social media that helps us to communicate to our friends, family and acquaintances. Looking back in 2014 where I was in sixth grade, my friends used to reach for me and to we keep in touch to each other with the use of Facebook. If I don’t reply to them because I am off line, they we’re posting on my profile timeline saying “I MISS YOU” or sometimes they even use their parent’s account, search your name and voila! they will leave a message to you right away. WHAT A GOOD OLD DAYS.

That’s how social media does in the year of 2013 to 2014.

In 2015, I must say that is still have the 2013-2014 vibe but now many people are now using Facebook and it’s becoming messier. Many people use this social media to spread hate, bullying and toxicity. but my 2015 is in between positivity and negativity,

Looking back in my year of 2015, I have a phone that year which I used to always online on Facebook but the phones are not that very high technology. In my year of 2015 which I am in eighth grade, I used my account for fun and establishing memories with my friends and classmates. Scrolling to my 2015 feed, I can see JEJEPOSING, JEJEOUTFITS, and JEJETYPINGS but I’m not going to deny the fact that it makes me happy.

In the year of 2016 this is where I can say I become influenced and too much exposed to this social media, I can say that I depend myself on social media and I even post everything on social media, my emotion, the songs I played, in short I am social media addict. Looking back in the year of 2016 as I scrolled down to it, I must say that I was devastated, sad girl and lonely person in that year. I have story which made myself to be like that. I’ll tell next time here on this blog.

In the year 2017, I am still that lonely, sad, devastated girl when I was in ninth grade but in that year as I scrolled, I can say that I do better in academics and sports. I play martial arts and I even compete in regionals and in academics, I’m always on the ranking. Maybe 2017 is payback time. I was very into academic and sports and also participating in every competitions and program in school.

Same goes in the year 2018 I am still in the row of being productive and achiever but this time I am now a member of a higher organization in the school which is the Supreme Student Government. Before I am promoted to tenth grade, my classmate told me to run for the officer, hence thinking twice because I’ve done nothing like that before but I gave it a try. I run for a Grade 10 Representative and I wasn’t expecting to won but it happens. I was expecting to have few votes but it happens to be 2nd of the most high ranking votes in all of the candidates. I am grateful and it serves all the credit because of my sports and to my diligence to academic.

In the year of 2018, scrolling to it made me see the medals from sports and the ranking I’ve got in the academics. And today, It ends here for now. I am not yet finish deleting. I still have 3 years to delete.

Facebook is the number one social media account that helps every individual to reach to their family and friends, Near or overseas. It also helps us to establish a memory that will never be forgotten because Facebook record it.

But it’s time for me to delete the memory that makes me cringe. Not all the post I’ve done in my account was good, I can really say that I used my account overly and I never knew I was abusing it. It’s now time to delete the cringy memories.
