I see your “Iris has a Hero complex” idea, and I propose “Iris has both a Hero complex and a God complex”

We both know how it is. It started out as just wanting to punish the people of Unova for never treating her with basic respect. She wanted them to feel hopeless like she had, how she felt so small compared to everyone else. And now they’ll feel small and hopeless against Team Plasma

But.. when Kyurem gave her the title “Hero of Fate” it truly started to develop. She controlled fate, it was up to her decision on what was to happen. How she could say someone’s fate was set in stone, and make it happen. She controlled the power of Kyurem the strongest Dragon in all of Unova

She chooses one’s fate

She could chose if they live or die

She’s sorta like Light from Death Note. He started out as being a “Hero” but eventually the power got to him and he wanted to be the God of the new world. Imagine just, Iris being like that. As a Hero she can decide who is a villain and who isn’t, so she decides the public are the villains and she has to get rid of them

But now, she’s so far deep in her power and her ambitions that she doesn’t doubt her beliefs one bit. She knows she can rule over Unova, over other regions, rule over the entire World

Besides, she was chosen and given the power of a god. It’s only right that her fate is set in stone

(Wanted to ask, what if it’s only Iris as a villain? Like how you have a Diantha Villain AU, there can also be a Villain Iris AU? Just thought it’d be cool how the Champions would see her as a villain)

God her views are so fucking skewed at this point tho bc she believes w all of her heart that she is a Hero, a Hero like Hilbert and Hilda, a Hero w her own Dragon, a Hero who'll save everyone from any kind of threat. But like, the people of Unova didn't see her like that yknow, they saw her as a nuisance, someone who's trying way too fucking hard, someone who doesn't even deserve her own Champion title. And that kinda fucks her up yknow.

Imagine a younger Iris, just became Champion, and she's expecting everyone to finally like her more, to see how strong she is, but amidst the flashes of camera and fake smiles, she could hear whispers of how she just got lucky. And it hurt her ofc, even after years of being the Champion, after proving herself over and over again especially up against the Champions of the other regions, they still saw her as a weak trainer, who only got that far bc of her luck and her connections.

Then one day, while she was out accompanying Bianca at Lacunosa Town, Bianca mentioned how back then a lady in this town told them the story of a dragon who can control ice, Kyurem. Ofc, they all know abt Kyurem at this point, but none knew where it is. After Neo Plasma's attack, they never saw light of Kyurem again. But that only fed Iris' curiosity really, she knows Kyurem was still around, she just has to find it.

And she did.

Kyurem joined her, she managed to defeat him, and he spoke highly of her skills. She laughed bitterly at that, saying if only the people of Unova could see that as well. Kyurem had said how he feels the same, how he knows people only saw him as an empty piece of the Original Dragon, merely an accessory for Zekrom and Reshiram, an empty husk of the former dragon, without a mind of its own. They were wrong ofc, Iris knows that, especially now talking to Kyurem. And Kyurem crouched down to her level, sees her tears, asks her of it, and she went on how for some reason, talking to a supposed monster was more comforting than talking to any of the Unovan people, how Kyurem understood her more than anyone. And ofc, that warmed smth within Kyurem, as he leaned in and gave her a soft nuzzle, telling her to dry those tears, he will help her prove to everyone how strong she is. How strong both of them are.

And just bcmdnd yknow Kyurem actually being really encouraging w Iris, telling her how much of a failure Plasma was when he was under them, and telling her how she's doing a much better job. How he tells her that as the Hero of Fate, she gets to decide who lives and who dies and who tells their story

And ofc, that got to Iris' head, the first time she actually killed someone was on the same day Kyurem joined her. A few trainers or maybe they were rangers were patrolling the Giant Chasm, and then they saw Iris there w Kyurem. Iris' back facing them, but Kyurem was sneering at them, a puff of cold air leaving where his mouth was supposed to be. He looked at Iris, "are they not the ones who looked down on you?"

Iris finally turned, saw them, he recognizes them, during that time she and Bianca were at Lacunosa, she heard their whispers going on why she was just leisurely on a stroll w a friend, and not doing her Champion duties.

The rangers were frozen in place, Kyurem hasn't even used his powers yet, but they were fearing for their lives.

Iris was facing them now, a glint within those crimson eyes. "Yes.. they are."

"and what do you wish to do with them, my liege?"

The rangers were pleading to Iris, desperate they called out to her, asking for her forgiveness, they didn't mean what they said. But, damn, Iris has to admit, the way they knelt down before her, the way they cried, the way they were willing to do anything just so she would spare them, it was music to her ears. And god it felt strange, there was a sudden jolt of thrill within her, the way that she can just decide whether or not the rangers lives or dies, it got her excited. The thought of being the one in charge of peoples' fate, it gave her a sense of sordid mirth. She smiled at the rangers, and they realized their fate has been sealed, softly, she spoke, "I want you to kill them."

Hearing Kyurem's thunderous roar, piercing icicles honed towards them, and they were welcomed by the sweet embrace of death.

Just cbmdbcmdnd god but if this is just a villain Iris au tho, imagine the Champions not figuring out its her that's Plasma's new leader now. Cause she has that alter ego, she has perfect excuses, no one ever knew she had Kyurem. But they're so goddamn worried abt her and abt Unova, they all heard how this version of Plasma was stronger than before, how they're even more of a threat, that their new leader even killed the old one, leaving his corpse at Driftveil to rot.

But Iris tells them it's okay, she and her League are handing it, but that doesn't seem to ease the tension for the other Champions. Iris was one of the younger Champions, and while they don't underestimate her, they're just really worried she'd get hurt, she's like a daughter/little sister to them, and they won't ever forgive themselves if smth were to happen to her

Dan Heng:

He’s taken aback by your sudden threats of violence towards a random pedestrian for intentionally bumping into him.

He was more use to Caelus rummaging through trash cans before waxing poetry about them and whenever March 7th going off on her own as it was expected of their characters.

You however? His sweetheart, his precious jewel and beloved partner? It was extremely unexpected. Dan Heng had to physically stop you from actually fulfilling your threat by holding you against him before putting a good deal of distance between you and the rude individual.

He’s not against you defending his honour, he just doesn’t want you engaging in fights with random people just because they said something about him that you didn’t like. He didn’t want you to stoop to their level and become like them, no matter how good your reasonings for doing so may be. Dan Heng just wants you to be better than them and not give them the reaction that they needed to fuel their own narratives.

That and Dan Heng knew that you could easily kick their ass but he didn’t felt like dealing with being chased by the authorities for unprovoked acts of violence. However some exceptions can be made to this but Dan Heng would much rather that you kept out of trouble, just for his sake and his sanity as he didn’t want to make breaking you out of jail a reoccurring thing.

Jing Yuan:

His interest is peaked.

Who’d knew that someone as sweet and kind as you had such a vicious side, waiting to come out.

Jing Yuan didn’t care for much what others said about him, but having you come to his defence without hesitation had him smiling with pride. His reputation precedes him wherever he went, so naturally he wasn’t going to be easily intimidated by senseless yapping of others, especially those who had not even the slightest clue of the things he’s put himself through in order to get where he was.

While Jing Yuan appreciates your need to stick up for him, he didn’t think it was necessary for you to waste your time and energy on those who lack the capacity to listen to a voice that wasn’t their own.

‘Always pick your battles wisely my dear,’ he said all the while looking at the person who insulted him dead in the eye with that half asleep expression of his, ‘for most aren’t worth fighting in.’ He finishes before gently pulling you by the waist and walking away.

Blade:

He had an inkling that there was more to you than meets the eye. However he didn’t expect someone who went out of their way to feed stray kittens and puppies, patch up his wounds despite knowing he could heal, would ever spout such detailed threats towards another person.

He didn’t give two shits about what people said about him that he hasn’t heard before, he had long grown immune to ignore the comments from those who didn’t know him nor his past. Yet he couldn’t help but revel in the look of surprise on the persons face the words left your lips, chuckling softly at the countless possible thoughts that must be running through their head in that moment.

It was always the sweetest people that everyone was the least suspicious about, it was near enough impossible to fathom that they were capable of hurting anyone.

A wolf in sheep’s clothing is what described you best in this moment as Blade watched you with new found interest. He found this side of you rather exciting and wanted nothing more than to help you hone in on this side of you and use it to your advantage; Yet he found another part of himself wanting to be the one inciting violence, as he refuses you to tread the same path he did, he wouldn’t allow it.

After all he was the weapon.

He was the one stained in the blood of others.

He was the one that inflicted pain onto others and himself and it was something he will continue to do until death was finally granted to him in whatever form that may be. Blade will refuse you from ever embracing that side of yourself if it meant sending you on a projectory much like his own.

You were his light in the dark for a reason and while it was reassuring to know that you had what it took to fight back, Blade would much rather be the one to fight instead and to be the one to keep your hands clean of blood and violence overall.

Uh, on the topic of Nemec content.....

I'm gonna take this little lad and give him Captain "most of my squad is dead because of you" Howzer as a batch brother. The endless amount of trouble they're going to cause.

Fireball, too, why not??? Their armours are the same, I'm gonna go on a whim and say that Fireball and Nemec are the only two left from their squad, and Howzer took them in. (literally that's all I could think of when Fireball jumped to saved Nemec 😭 they're besties your honour)

Now you've got Howzer, with most of his squad gone, being rescued by these absolute bonkers clones who only have each other, and all Howzer can think of is Hera. Those lads are HIS brothers, Rex better get used to them being a trio

(No, episode 6/7 doesn't happen. They're fine. Just sore.)

Fireball likes cooking spicy stuff, but he always makes sure to give Howzer's an extra kick (a bit TOO extra, sometimes) while he keeps Nemec's on the lower side so he can concentrate beyond the itchy flavouring

Nemec with his brief technical knowledge we saw? Dude managed to pirate holos for them, for the rescued clones specifically but if they need a breather after a mission, who's gonna stop them? They deserve a break, the holos are fun

Howzer gives them the structure of their old life but the freedoms of their new life. He's bossy on missions but makes sure they're not worked into the ground like they used to be. He's stern as soon as their helmets go on for missions but you bet your ass as soon as the missions done hes checking them for even a scratch.

Theyre loyal to each other to a fault, they wouldn't hesitate to run straight into even the Emperor for each other, the bond is too string 😔 after almost being sent to Tantiss, Howzer loses himself a bit until the absolute chaos of Nemec and Fireball pull him back (for the most part... he'd still torture anyone for info. Brothers included atp)

The recent episodes have progressed so much plot I keep having thoughts™ about them so here we are again :)

the anthology part was just so tragic though,,,,, how they both became closer to each other, the mention that the blòta saved the guards life, the implications of the harvest maybe not actually being dependent on human sacrifice, tbh might actually draw this one it made me sad

Something something parallels of both guide and beast blindly trusting The Man With The Voice, except guide realised he wasn't worth it while beast is clinging on to its loyalty to him :///

the sarcastic 'I live to serve' while knowing full well it's pulling the wool over beast's eyes,,, plus it talking circles around who exactly is in the team by depending on beast's preconceived assumptions is beautiful

Restoration character development,,, also the voice acting is phenomenal yet again :'0

CLOCKWORK MOTHER THE QUEEN RETURNS

As previously mentioned about the 'oddly beautiful individuals' part. Yes.

Are these new people really so hot that they're described like That in guides narration, and it cut itself off bc it was embarrassing? Is it a throwaway about guide not being able to 'see' per se, therefore breaking it out of the narration? Is it confused about what an attractive person is? has it spontaneously realised what it finds attractive for the first time in its life? Only time will tell!

my beloved was being so smart about the whole 'controlled by beast' thing i can only hope this new bunch treats it nice D: (which. seems unlikely but still)

what I wouldn't do for some bonus content during season break, my pitches:

Qna!! Would love to know some behind the scenes stuff about production, and the writing process, and designing the podcast thumbnails, and the conception of the plot etc etc

Cast commentary: there's quite a few VAs now, I think it would be fun!!! Would be cool to get to know them in some way :D

Bloopers: there's gotta be some considering 4 whole seasons, another one that would just be fun

Mini episode of some kind, i get that this one would take extra writing so not expecting much but i think an episode about the employees or general mishaps/shenanigans within the museum would be cute

i do love lotr well remembered ! my high fantasy is a bit rusty so im wary of writing in tolkien voice but i will give you my general thoughts on them post canon below and hope that you vibe with it. sorry this is so late i forgot it was in my drafts

this isnt prompt specific but i want to say i love that the movies have legolas keep jumping people who even raise an eyebrow at the shaggy unwashed dude whos apparently gondor’s promised king bc iirc canonically they are not really friends pre fellowship and at most have like met once or twice after aragorn tracks gollum to mirkwood or something. legolas is just very ride or die for people ig?? tracks with his threatening the riders of rohirrim later. we love movie characterisation. really went in on the ‘besties w a heart shaped locket of their initials’ vibe.

also the fact that aragorn and legolas are both royalty avoiding courtly duties in hilariously similar yet distinct ways. like yes they are both on a mission for the greater good so its not like theyre irresponsible leaders (and legolas’ father approved his going) but up until moria legolas is fully like ooh roadtrip with humans and dwarves and shit. fun. while aragorn is brooding immensely about the shadow of responsibility creeping closer to him daily. its just funny to me. legolas is so young in elf time.

after mordor falls i totally believe legolas and aragorn keep in close contact tho. like yes they are busy what with legolas skipping off home to report that he survived the fall of evil and also made some new friends or whatever and aragorn trying to rebuild the ruins of gondor but also i think they probably exchange heartfelt letters across middle earth and legolas visits often. esp in early years bc gotta keep track of those hobbits and their very short little lives. legolas loves inventing Elf Songs ™ off the top of his head that are just odes to his fav human. aragorn not so secretly also loves elvish poetry so he appreciates it.

also this goes for all surviving fellowship members but legolas def has a place of honour in gondor w increasingly dramatic titles & whenever he comes by aragorn will spend his nights with him walking the top walls of minas tirith talking philosophy and history and counsel. legolas is a prince too of course. sometimes they go for fun hikes bc they’re both roamers. no one else thinks it’s fun when the king and his elf bff decide to trek across countries on foot but they enjoy it. (arwen very reasonably prefers horseback and sometimes if he’s coming too they let gimli pretend he’s keeping her company when he’s sick of keeping up with their long legs.)

at certain points legolas is busy wandering for a while and the next time he’s over he has to meet aragorn and arwen’s kids. i think he’d be so obsessed w the concept. like gimli would be the best uncle easily but legolas would be like Woooowww omg little freak children i love them. aragorn look. omg it can talk. cool. he def teaches them mirkwood elvish slang and songs to balance out the rivendell influence. aragorn and arwen both find it funny but lowkey arwen sometimes gossips w him abt it because like . yeah half-human babies Are weird. even hers. at least one of their sons is reciprocally obsessed w legolas and spends his infancy viciously pulling at his hair. eowyn finds this very funny as the other token blonde often in gondor.

i refuse to go into angst so i’m not going to talk abt fellowship deaths but i think legolas stays on middle earth longer than he would have liked to help arwen cope after aragorn bc he is Equally Devastated. esp after the kids go. their last goodbye before legolas and gimli leave at the grey havens will have lasted a very long and sad time i think. very weepy on all sides. but she gets it. legolas can’t lose his last close friend to death.

in a modern human au aragorn n legolas r annoying hiking obsessives & post each other on their stories so much you’d assume they’re dating. legolas fights trolls on aragorn’s socials daily despite aragorn’s attempts to convince him he could not care less. they have matching tattoos of like, constellations on their ankles. aragorn is the only person who can memorise legolas’ ever-changing and very weird coffee orders.

I know Cordelia and Lucie’s relationship (like so the relationships in choi) suffered because they were both keeping secrets, but-

Cordelia is the only person Lucie tells (subtlety) about Jesse in 2 instances:

1. Lucie meets Jesse as a child in the prologue of chog, and although she didn’t know who he is and he asks her not to tell anyone about him, Lucie tells Cordelia in the short story where Daisy gets her nickname (though she calls him a changeling)

2. In her books, we know Lucie writes about Sir Jethro! She has a tendency to base her main characters on real people, so it makes sense he’d be included because he matters to her - it definitely served to make a dramatic ghostwriter love reveal scene, and certainly added excitement to her novel, but I think the point still stands. It’s a personal story she writes for Cordelia and normally Cordelia is the only one who reads it

2.5. On a side note, Jesse reads Lucie’s new December chapter of The Beautiful Cordelia in choi, but the except Cordelia reads to James is from the previous month, meaning he’d been a character for at least 2 months by that point. And the chapter immediately following their 1st meeting in the ball contains a knight called Jerrod, who also happens to look like Jesse 👀

This is far more than she’s revealed to anyone else that didn’t already know about Jesse (ie Grace) even if she hasn’t gone so far as to explicitly tell Cordelia - because knowing would put her in danger, she was attempting necromancy after all - for the same reasons she hasn’t told anyone

THEYRE BESTIES YOUR HONOUR lucie just trusts her so fully it’s beautiful, even when she has to hide something she sneaks it in

i feel like this is most frustrating part of the series, the fact that they all want to tell each other things but can’t, whether it’s for protection or reputation or they just think it’s for the best. like i want to be mad at all the secrets but i just CANT bc lucies motivations entirely surround her desire to keep he loved ones safe it’s sweet and noble i can’t even imagine how annoying it must be for all of them rip

ALL OF THEM 😁. all the characters ever and ever<3 forever and ever more<3 but i think ehrm- SEE. i would say spock&data are technically autistic headcanons but... theyre also complicated cases of a) bestie is it REALLY a headcanon with them? or is it just like that! theyre soooo true yes<3 BUT also b) they're both not fully human and so are they-are they autistic, and its like personally wrt im like "so true yes they are" when ppl are autistic and think they are (myself included) bc YAH but then also them being half-alien, and an android respectively im also hmm. lets actually unpack that. bc its like- its like a VERY similar situation, i feel, with the doctor and their gender/sexuality - because why project a human notion onto them like that, yeah? i mean yes but also but also- BUT THATS A BIG CONVERSATION OF RAMBLING so... for an easier one: i actually do rlly like matthew murdock (daredevil) being autistic. reasons why: i like it<3 but also 1) whilst it doesnt entirely make sense bc obviously he got his powers in an accident, i still think his sensory issues jsut feel too relateable to ignore and 2) its... harder to describe but theres a certain. relatability to him that i cant quite put into words when ti comes to approach to things and certain thought processes. GRANTED, IM TALKING AS A: daredevil netflix fan, and i havent managed to explore the rest of his iterations (yet) but yah<3 (and an honourable mention goes to cordelia chase from buffy because i know some ppl have said thats an out there autistic hc but im putting my foot down on it so<3 😁)

40. Do you collect anything related to your special interest? NOT right now....im poor. and ive had some bad experiences with physical collections</3 sniff sniff. i DID used to collect doctor who cards (i had this tardis that opened up, and acted as a deck- but come to think of it? it was shitty, like as an actual organisation thing like help) and the doctor who magazines. i got every issue for years. i used to take the posters out and at one point i had enough to cover one of my walls entirely omg.
