Ding dong it’s time for more bodyguard!Gaz Thoughts™️

Gaz’s researcher is a Scientist through and through. They just so happen to be hired by the gov’ment. It becomes painfully obvious when they interact with military personnel.

Not! Because they think they’re smarter than military people, but because they have a very Civilian reaction to things. They don’t refer to anyone, not even Price, as “sir” or “ma’am” unless they’re being scathingly sarcastic. They don’t salute, they roll their eyes about curfew. Being ordered around is met with the flattest, rudest, “excuse you?”

A colonel once asked what they thought they were doing (in a part of the facility they were meant to be in no less!) and they just looked him up and down before walking off, Gaz calling apologies over his shoulder.

That said, Gaz is a clear Favorite. He’s earned credibility with them by never asking for things “just because.” So if he tells them it’s time to go, or to stay away from an area, or don’t leave without telling him, they (try really hard to) comply. And the rest of their lab follows suit.

Which leads to the hilarious and mildly horrifying scenarios where they disregard, ignore, or sass anyone that’s not Gaz:

“You need to come with me.”

“I need you to get out of my lab.”

“This wasn’t a request, that was—“

“I don’t care what is was, mind your damn tone.”

Kyle comes into the room, ignoring the other soldier. “We need you on the tarmac, chickadee, there’s something you’ll wanna get your hands on.”

They perk up, instantly abandoning a welding tool that their assistant scrambles to turn off.

“Ooh!” They trill, bouncing up to Kyle. They loop a couple fingers in his belt, automatic after this long, insurance they don’t wander off or get lost. “Is it something with holes or something with bits?”

“You’ll have to come find out.”

And just like that he’s rounded up them, their entire lab, and has a little procession of researchers following him happily to the tarmac. As the last assistant is leaving, they scrunch their nose at the first soldier. Honestly, what did he think? Kyle didn’t introduce him at all!

“So rude!” the assistant huffs, and locks the lab after them.

Me, vibrating, viscerally wishing to scoop up the robot man, shake him like a maraca until the self-loathing falls out, and then hug him for approximately 400 years: Come here, you bloody idiot, I’m never leaving you alone ever again.

God, this robot man is a lot of work (this quest dragged us across the entire map, including into a three-way firefight in Quincy between the Brotherhood, Supermutants, and Gunners, and another three-way firefight in Natick between raiders, supermutants, and a random deathclaw), but I love him with all my heart.

Every time we play Fallout 4, I promise we’re going to take a different companion around (and we have, for short bursts, this time we got Piper to full approval), but I just … I really love Nick? It’s fun travelling with the others, but …

Nick, honey. I will always be interested in travelling with you. Over and above anyone else in this goddamn game. Every time. Possibly to the annoyance of everyone in range. Heh.

It's genuinely so funny to me how even Takasugi can be simultaneously batshit crazy and also one of the chillest characters in the series.

Like is he directly responsible for most of the serious conflicts in the series? Yes. Will he partner up with the alien invaders he spent years waging a war against, specifically a division of space mercenaries led by the son of the most infamous alien hunter in the galaxy? Also yes.

But also: is he just going to lurk near the center of every major conflict in the series like a stalker? Yes. Does he think it's funny when his strategist cosplays as him? Also yes. Is he going to stand back and watch if his adopted little sister/daughter and his co-general/second-in-command happen to start beating up said strategist for cosplaying him? 100% yes.

This man is either plotting the destruction of the country or smoking and just vibing out with his found family, and I think that's great

Ahkmenrah headcanons!(part 1 of a million)

Ahk is VERY passionate about sharing ancient Egyptian culture with anyone who will ask. He’s helped Nick on a history essay or two over the years and taught Larry some basic hieroglyphics for the fun of it.

He loves getting to be a part of the extended night hours for this very reason. Teaching people about something so near and dear to him is very special.

He is very critical of the way mummies are so often portrayed as monsters in film.

Despite loving his gorgeous pharaoh clothing, Ahk has a fondness for modern clothing. He doesn’t quite get the hang of how to match it all, but he’s got the spirit! (I made a whole post about this headcanon not long ago!)

Ahk used to read the research books at Cambridge, which has given him an extensive knowledge on several topics, from history to languages.

Canonically, he’s fluent in Egyptian, English, and Hun. But I headcanon that he can also speak French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Latin, and German. He can definitely understand/translate many more languages though.

Ahk is claustrophobic, for obvious reasons.

Nick introduced Ahk to video games and he is very competitive about it. He loves puzzle and strategy games the most, but has been known to adore competitive co-op games like Mario Kart.

Ahk’s favorite modern day candy is chocolate covered raisins.

Ahk has a strong fondness for cats and owned several when he was alive. He’s tried to convince Larry to let him have a cat or two in the museum, but Larry won’t budge.

Never thought it would come to this but, I am an Aziraphale defender. I will defend that angel with my life. You all wanna talk about how he fucked up, and yes, I agree, he did. However, the amount of hate he's getting is unbelievable to me. He was manipulated by Heaven for 6,000 years, only recently got out of it, and now, in his head, he can fix Heaven. He can make it better. He's naive and innocent and thinks the best of everything. He has been, essentially, brainwashed by Heaven to believe a specific thing and as someone who is a victim of manipulation, that takes time to unlearn. That being said, I agree that what he did was shitty, but there's obviously a reason behind it. I'm not saying he's completely innocent, but I'm also saying that the hate he's getting is just...a lot
