okay so I was kinda right about Medjed! is that another victory in my column or not? hm
Tumblr media
After sleeping for I think 22 days, Futaba wakes up and gets to counterhacking the hackers.
Reverie and Morgana get bored and start cleaning up her room while she works.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reverie got them skills. I still want an AU where he's a housespouse who moonlights as a cat burglar, if the fandom hasn't written a dozen of them, what the fuck have they been doing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gurl, we need to get you some vitamin c and iron, holy shit. i hope you like edamame and oranges, it's all your eating for the next week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does anyone else think this voice actor does NOT fit this character, or is it just me? It's a constant distraction.
Tumblr media
Aw he looks nice. What horrific creative crimes has he committed?
I finally belatedly noticed that the Palaces are all built around one of the deadly sins. "Arc, how could you not notice--" deadly sins are dumb, it's not in my authorial wheelhouse, blah blah. so anyway we did Lust, Vanity, Gluttony.... then the Thieves call out Futaba's sloth in the calling card, but she's actually associated with Wrath? Which is confusing. That means our options are.... uh. /googles.
Envy, Sloth, and Greed.
If the Final Boss is, like, the dude positioning to be the future Prime Minister, then I would say he should be Greed? Greed for power? But who even knooooows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OKAY SO I WAS KINDA RIGHT! She was Medjed! But it's basically Anonymous, it's a placeholder name for anyone who wants to use it. Yeah 'cause that always goes well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
looks worriedly at Morgana
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beige Boy shows up to sass Sae some more and
squints at these dialogue boxes
You know what I'm interested in seeing? I figure Akechi is gonna join the Thieves in some capacity at some point, it's being set up pretty aggressively. What interests me is whether we will see his persona awakening or if he'll already have a persona when he joins.
'Cause like.... Okay I'm pretty sure Akechi knows the Thieves aren't behind the mental shutdowns. I'm 70% sure. Ergo:
There is a 70% chance that Akechi is the black masked guy in the Metaverse causing the mental shutdowns.
Or there is a 30% chance that Akechi is being played by someone he trusts, who is giving him bad information re: the mental shutdowns. Which... would dovetail nicely into him joining the crew, actually, if they uncovered the true culprit and Akechi (like his Detective Prince predecessor) swapped sides to the Thieves upon realizing they're the only people who can stop the true perpetrator.
Actually, that would be an incredibly tidy bit of writing, I'm gonna say its 50/50.
He's still sus as fuck 24/7/365 though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hello i am here for the Futaba and Sojiro Show
Also Sojiro fucking drops the fact that his curry recipe was from Wakaba. He made her curry once and she was so intrigued, she asked for information on how to make it, then returned to Sojiro with a refined, scientifically reinforced recipe, and that's the one Sojiro still uses.
I love Sojiro, what the fuck.
Tumblr media
BITCH JUST TELL ME WHO YOU PUSHED YOUR FUCKING MALWARE APK TO AND SAVE ME THE TIME, I KNOW IT WAS YOU.
Tumblr media
Makoto has this whole plan to basically give Futaba's interpersonal skills a workout until she's a little more able to handle Thief-y work, but of course Futaba latches onto Yusuke, because she has excellent taste and they are both kindred weirdos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh yeah you guys are gonna be besties, i can tell
Tumblr media
She also keeps putting on a big costume head when she gets nervous, which is an interesting literalization of "masking" I guess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have no intelligent commentary, I just like that when Futaba whines at Sojiro here, he stops and assesses the situation, deems it harmless, and goes back to what he was doing. There's no doubt he'd jump in to help if needed, but also I think Futaba is just the time to simper and tug at his attention because both of them enjoy that. It's very good, I like it.
Also, again: Futaba's VA choice is so fucking good. Love it.
Next up is a beach trip and I cannot imagine it beating P4G's incredible beach vacation, but we shall enter it with open hearts and open eyes.

{h} VANE I HAD A COOL THOUGHT. u have to mix up the persona protags (3-5) and put them with a different group. up to u if this is for the plot of their game or with the group established. who goes with who and why and how do they fit into the dynamic
!!!! That’s such a cool idea!!! I’m gonna do what comes to mind and just swap from the very start, cut and paste sorta dealio
Hm hm hm…I’ll assume that Minako and Minato are a package deal, so they’d both get moved to that other group. And speaking of! Let’s start with them.
I think the Arisatos would both fit extremely well in the phantom thieves. Whether they’re siblings or a system, either way I think p5’s themes of rebellion versus sloth works really well for minato’s difficulties with moving forward, tending towards passivity and acceptance for a while, while minako’s upbeat personality could get them both through those early couple palaces but she would struggle more with the pervasive anxiety and depressing during the thieves’ kinda downswing from the end of the okumura arc until midway through the yaldy arc.
I would also really love to see their foiling with Akechi. Like. It wouldn’t them be the same as ren’s, but I think they could have some real fascinating interactions. Oh, and imagine how jazzed Futaba would be to have TWO cool and dorky older siblings. Dual wielding key items dhfhfg
Yu is probably the hardest one to fit in any persona game outside of his own, since he’s just…the most terminally unaffected character in the modern trilogy. The only other place that made sense for him would be in a game where he could be a background character, since he already kind of is in p4. So, even though it would probably be to the detriment of the game and story, I think he could manage alright enough in p3.
The thieves could operate autonomously if joker were a cardboard cutout, but ren’s role as leader is tantamount to their success, unity and continued ability to find new thieves. SEES on the other hand…I mean, it would be a less compelling game, but Arisato isn’t a linchpin of their ability to actually function. They’re important to the members of SEES, but not necessarily to the existence of the team itself.
So I think Narukami could do fine enough just standing in the background and being a bland motivational speaker. Like we didn’t need or even want a second Junpei, but at least he could help by being the one trauma-free ally in the friend group who helps make sure things get done.
And now. The fun one. Ren in Persona 4. This could go one of two ways. Either nothing significant changes and Ren is fucking miserable the whole time like Naoto and Kanji and Rise but at least he’s a good mystery solver, cause he’s smart and clever and in his own game was set up as a foil to a literal actual detective.
And! The fact that the “foil” style villain of p4 is a COP makes a ton more sense for Ren than yu. Like Adachi still doesn’t foil Ren directly, but he’d be a great fakeout final antagonist, the avatar of the primary villain being a police officer makes sense and would push Ren to his limits. So that’s already an improvement. He’d also be a fantastic big brother to nanako, even though his bond with dojima would be a lot more strained.
But assuming some aspects of the story would change to cater to this new protagonist…g-d the game could be so good actually. Like Ren helping be that emotional core for the investigation team, bonding with naoto (transmasc to transmasc communication), helping both support and defend his new friends without allowing any of their occasional bullshit, it could really lead the team towards an ending where they all are happy and comfortable in themselves and feel genuinely at home in this new found family unit, rather than how canon feels where everyone is all smiles and good times and then as soon as they drift apart even a centimeter the entire team fractures in half irreparably.

Hey you still there? If you are I would like to see what it would be like to bake with each of the girls please
Sure!
I'm not the best at writing so some may be longer than others.
Also, sorry for the delay 😭
---------------------------------
Nakamura🃏
-Nakamura will try and prank you at least once like switching the salt with sugar and that's kind of stuff.
-You've probably learned to tell if she's done something to the ingredients.
"Hey babe, could you grab the sugar please?" You asked your beautiful girlfriend.
"Sure!" She answers cheerfully while handing you the sugar.
You proceed to stare at the container for a second before realizing that once again, your girlfriend has swapped out the sugar with salt.
"I asked for sugar. Not salt." You said as you rummage through the cabinet to find the salt shaker, which had been swapped out with sugar.
"How did you know??? I took extra precautions to make sure you couldn't!" Nakamura exclaimed.
"Considering that it's you, it was kinda obvious you'd do that. Also, the salt's much finer than the sugar, so I could tell.
"Dammit...I get you next time" she pouted.
Hayami🐱
-You suggested it first and she just went along with it.
-It ended up being pretty fun tho
"Hey, Rinka! I'm bored, wanna do some baking?" You asked.
"Sure. Why not." she replied.
-You guys ended up making cat cupcakes
Kaede🍮
-Obviously, you guys made pudding
-Kaede is actually good at making them so yea :P
-She would have baked a lot with Aguri so it would bring her back memories of her.
-i don't know what else to write about here ;-;
Kanzaki🎮
-You guys made food from video games that she played
-looked up tutorials online
-some worked some failed
-probably accidentally touched the stove leading to the most horrible string of curses leaving her mouth
-her favorite ones being the ones from Zelda BoTW
Okuda🧪
-Very precise measurements
-You know the thing that Rio Futaba makes coffee with in Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai? Yea, Okuda probably has one to make tea with and you guys used it for whichever step required it.
-Okuda was probably panicking alot so you had to calm her down
"But what if we screwed up? what if we added too much water? what if-"
"Calm down Okuda, It'll be fine..."
Megu🏊🏻‍♀️
-I don't see her as the type of person that would bake but she would probably do it with you.
-You basically did everything while she stood around and watched, but she did help a bit tho
-She was confused
"Wait. Wait. So I'm supposed to keep adding while I'm stirring?"
"Yea, so add a little bit then stir for a while before adding more and keep repeating until you run out."
"That's confusing."
Yada🎀
-Probably made a chocolate cake
-She's decent at baking, and probably made a few things for his brother before
-probably made a mess but it was worth it
Okano🤸🏻‍♀️
-Same with Kataoka, she is probably clueless at baking
-Tried to bake once, but failed.
-She's bad at home EC so i imagine that you would be the one taking the lead.
-Probably made a chocolate cake.
Fuwa✨
-Anime food.
-probably watched food wars before that and went like "OMG CAN WE MAKE THAT?
-Kinda worked???
-It was chaotic but fun.
Hazama🕷
-Definitely horror-themed.
-Putting spiders and spider webs on it.
-I can kinda see Hazama making a Fnaf cake. Yk, she likes horror and probably plays it.
-Trying to put a curse on it so that anyone who ate the cake would have bad luck or something.
Kurahashi🐞
-Probably something natured theme.
-Would make cute little fondant animals to put on it.
-would try and make one for her animals
-would also make like doggie biscuits for her dogs.
Hara🍱
-She would teach you how to make a cake.
-She would guide you through each step and won't care if you screw up.
-It was fun
-the cake ended up being very good, due to Hara's guidance.
Ritsu👩🏻‍💻
-I don't really know how this would work but she would just show you the instructions and ect.
-Like hara she would guide you through the steps you need.

Random P5 Verse Headcanons
No rhyme or reason to it, I just thought of two of these which reminded me of another, so I figured I'd make a post about 'em.
So first up, I think almost every single one of the Palace Rulers would call Aaron an "insect," which slowly start to get on his nerves because "Spiders are arachnids! How do you not know that??"
And when I say almost, I mean everyone but Sae and Futaba. Sae because she just seems like she would know that for some reason, and Futaba because she isn't trying to antagonize any of the team so her Shadow doesn't really call them anything.
At first, he just starts off jokingly correcting them, but the more often it happens, the more it starts to annoy him. Like "Does nobody know basic Animal Taxonomy??"
Eventually he gets used to it for the most part, but he still finds it a little bit annoying.
The second Headcanon is one that I posted a few times on Twitter, but I don't think I ever did so here, and that is that Aaron could not take Kaneshiro's shadow seriously.
Like don't get me wrong, at first he totally bought into the whole "Yakuza tough guy" thing he was going for, all the way up until it came time to fight him... Because then he turned into a fly man... and started talking "gangsta."
Yeah, no he could not stop laughing for the first like 5 minutes of that fight, to the point that his sides hurt, which ticked Kaneshiro off to no end, but he didn't care. The guy ruined his whole image the second he started trying to act cool, which Aaron would proceed to mock him relentlessly for, making several quips about "You do know what spiders do to flies, right??"
This actually worked to the team's advantage, because Kaneshiro was so focused on trying to shut him up, that the rest of the gang were allowed to get several free hits in. Aaron did take a major beating, but it's not like he couldn't handle it. In fact, the "mock the enemy relentlessly" strategy was one they'd use for pretty much every boss to follow, aside from Sae, Akechi, and Shido. (Sae because he didn't want to make fun of her with her sister right there, not to mention they were kinda trying to save her, so it wouldn't have felt right. Akechi because he was way too ticked off to make jokes, and Shido because it wasn't really necessary, as he kinda was going to target Aaron regardless, plus the rest of the team rightfully didn't think it was the best idea to further antagonize the strongest foe they've faced by far)
Finally, a bit more lighthearted one. Even though this doesn't really happen in-game, I like to imagine Aaron and his Aunt talked regularly throughout his probation, just call her up to chat and get her up to speed with what's going on (minus any Phantom Thieves shenanigans of course). They're really close, so I have a hard time believing she wouldn't call to check in on him unless there was a reason she couldn't. And as petty as Shido can be, I doubt he'd be willing to waste time keeping her from calling him just to isolate him further or something
So yeah, they talk often, at least until after Christmas when his powers reawaken, since he gets a lot busier after that. But whenever they do talk, he brings up his friends quite often, only getting more frequent the closer he gets with them. He absolutely adores his teammates, so of course he'd gush about them to his "mom" whenever he got the chance. (Though he'd make sure to leave out any personal/embarrassing details that may have happened, like during their confidants for example, since those aren't his to tell)

Vanilla-Okumura
Oh, yeah this arc. I like Morgana. I just get PTSD from Okumura's battle. I hated doing the song in Dancing.
"Stress is the enemy of beauty". 🤣🤣 I can see Sae pulling this out later on.
Unvoiced conversation.
Help Futaba get rid of her unease. I want to say its worded differently in Royal, but I don't remember.
Ohya's boss sucks.
Unvoiced conversation. Pretty big one too. You would think it would be voiced.
I like to throw Yusuke under the bus.
Unvoiced conversation.
Ann and Ryuji, the blond extrovert twins.
"Don't worry about it". As he asks for the guy's personal info. Honestly, how fucking charming/trustworthy is Ren? I'd be kinda suspicious if a dude asked me for the full name of my problem and told me not to worry. I'd think I was about to be caught up in a murder charge.
Unvoiced conversation. Again, another big one.
Unvoiced conversation. Big one.
I love Futaba scaring that fuck head.
Does anybody actually use Fate Reading?
Unvoiced conversation.
I love how they just bought her a swimsuit without knowing her taste or size.
Batting cages aren't open at night.
I never knew what that building was I thought it was an office building, not a movie theatre.
I worked at the Beef Bowl twice and never went back. I got my precision elsewhere.
Unvoiced conversation. Eternal Lockpick became Perma Pick.
Kawakami doesn't ask questions, she just makes a lock pick and other things for you. 🤣🤣
No wonder I forgot Akechi has a first name. He barely says his first name.
Trauma dump and rank up.
I love how there's two pronunciations of Medjed, depending on the person.
It's more flirty when it's not an auto rank-up.
Futaba's trying to drag poor Sojiro outside.🤣🤣
Me and my brother used to light the Smoke Bombs and run through the smoke. Probably not the best idea.
They're going to light the basket on fire. And kill Morgana.
You don't need a stat requirement to work at Crossroads? Kind-3, Precision-3
Lala's not voiced.
I would love it if he cross dressed. Morgana speaking the truth.
I swear in Royal there's four customers you can choose from. There is they added an Office Worker who gives you knowledge.
You only get 5,400 Yen (38.67 Dollars) for a Sunday😨😨. In Royal, it's 12,000 Yen (84.59)🤑🤑.
No mention of Sundays being the day to work.
Christ sakes, Ren 😋😋🥵🥵
I like how Makoto's top has kitty paws on the straps.
I love how Ann pulls one over on Ryuji.
I'd die if Ren look at me like that. Like I'd be a puddle.😍😍
I don't think Ren has any trouble stealing hearts.
Unvoiced conversation.
Yusuke and his lobsters🤣🤣
I like how in the anime, Ren asks if he has enough money for the train home.
Unvoiced conversation.
like how they know they're in high school, but they still hit on them. 😠😠
Unvoiced conversation.
I can only imagine what Futaba hears.
Ryuji needs to stop putting his foot in his mouth.
Does Ren not like to type?
Unvoiced conversation.
No, not human Morgana 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️.
Don't you get Harisen Recover at R.6?
I never knew he grunted/thinking noises if you stayed on the map too long. Honestly, I thought it was some sort of intestinal distress. I also didn't know they moved it outside, to the city in Strikers. I heard it one night when I was alone. Scared the shit out of me. Took me three times of hearing it to figure out what it was. Look, I'm happy they're giving Xander lines, but can they give him more than simple sentences and sound bites? I ain't saying he has to read the phone book, unless that's a key story beat.😋😋😍😍 But I wouldn't mind more lines. Let's hope Tactica gives some new lines, or at least said in a new way.
The fountain pen was sold in Shinjuku?
think they changed the descriptions for the 2nd tier Personas new moves.
Unvoiced conversation.
Unvoiced conversation.
120,000 Yen=849.55 Dollars.
Unvoiced conversation.
Unvoiced conversation.
I love how Sojiro doesn't care that you take Morgana to school.
Unvoiced conversation.
So Kin-Ki lost his Psychic weakness.
I think they made Ren faster.
I love driving down every floor of Mementos.
Sneezing while frozen is an accomplishment.
High Counter used to be called Counterstrike.
Hole Gold🤨🤨
I confuse Neko Shogun and Nekomata for some reason.
I think when most of your team is statused. The AI should prioritize whoever can hit a weakness, or Ren. Because a dead leader is game over.
I didn't know in my first playthrough, that Harisen Recover worked on all teammates. I thought it was only you. Imagine my surprise the first time it activated for someone else.
He's going to backhand somebody one day.
I know it's the game keeping you from doing things. But damn, Morgana rules with an iron fist.
Slight different question. Macadamia nuts are expansive.
As much as I don't like Kawakami. I do hate that her romance response is delayed. When I romanced her to get the award. I thought I messed up and didn't hit a romance flag. (Like Takemi or Chihaya). I get why but, it still made me think I messed up.
Mishima used to text you after every completed Mementos Mission?🙃🙃
Softer "yes" after you help Kawakami. Royal's is a bit louder.
Dude, you pay so much more money for the Big Bang 🍔 challenge in the morning. I mean I'd heard that you pay more but not 700 and then 1,000 Yen more.
Ren's going to drop dead of a heart attack.
Unvoiced conversation.
I love how if you lose at the crane game enough. Morgana won't let you play it anymore that day.
I hated going to the Maid Cafe. 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️
Was there always a conversation on the night of 9/6?
I thought when you're on probation that you can't leave the country. Or is that house arrest?
Unvoiced conversation.
They moved the picture to after they get to Hawaii.
Sexy pics are a no go.
When they question how long you're staying and why. It sounds like they don't want you there. Reminds me of when sales people bug me too much in a store. I'll walk right out. Although, you can't get back on the plane.
I'd rather room with Ryuji than Mishima.
These trips seem like they're PR for the school.
"The good-looking one". Okay Mishima.👌🏻
Unvoiced conversation.
Random Yusuke.
Unvoiced conversation.
I don't think Ren is a big photo guy.
Unvoiced conversation.
I love the lei loading scene.
Wouldn't it be funny if Ryuji's roommate's girlfriend was Ann's roommate?🤣🤣
They never thought of sharing.
I love how all those options apply to Akechi.
I don't think "I don't have a type" is in Royal.
Poor Mishima. The tap water thing is Mexico. Not the US.
Think Hawaii's boring. Try Hawaii without much voice acting.
"You'll get fat". Dude is cruisin' for a bruising.
Are Garlic Shrimp really foreign? They sell them at restaurants over here in the US. I can't imagine it's hard to make.
Unvoiced conversation.
I'm sure Mishima could get a girlfriend if he didn't seem like an incel. That and the fact that I think if a girl hugged him he'd cream his pants.
Unvoiced conversation.
"Secret lover coming after me with an axe".🤣🤣
As funny as that is they don't know that they met Haru, yet.
Also, are the localizers British? They just stuck the gift scene in there. Bye, potato 👋🏻👋🏻
Morgana should talk to him. I know Ren would listen.
"Here's your gift". 🎁 "Your principal's dead".🤨🙄 Nice greeting. Why would they care?
Morgana's at fault because he doesn't talk about his problems. Ryuji's at fault because he repeatedly calls Morgana useless and says Makoto and Futaba are better than him. He gets impatient when they stake out Mementos. Then he says "We don't care if you're useless". 🦶=👄
Unvoiced conversation.
That's because the principal sucked.
Cute Akechi face x4.
Unvoiced conversation.
I love how Ren and Futaba are the only ones worried about Morgana.
Different question.
They added the Morgana lives here things in Royal. Claw marks on the table leg. Paw prints in the dust. I think there's one more, but I don't remember it.
Different sound for the holographic screens.
I love this scene in the anime. Ren's line is 😋😋😍😍 "It means to help the weak and dethrone the mighty".
Women can be evil too, Ryuji.
YouTube comments led me to believe Haru was the black mask.
Different question.
I've lost track of where Ren was in the Mementos scenes. Because he's allergic to colour. I mean sure he looks drop-dead gorgeous, but he also blends in.
Foot meet mouth.
So help me God, Ryuji. We were so close.
Ann so should've smacked him.
I think he jumps out of the way faster in Royal.
Unvoiced conversation.
Did they change Haru's dad's voice?
There's no turning back now. Jesus, does the game expect us to marry and have kids with whoever you date? Hasn't they ever heard of breaking up?
"You'll be awarded an extraordinary gift". Yeah, a trip to the hospital for bypass surgery or a trip to the morgue.
Different question.
No chest to the left when you enter.
Black Ooze in Okumura's? I mean it makes sense but...
Smarf man.
What a creep.
I wish you could choose who it kicks out when you get a new teammate.
There's a sound when you hit the safe room doors? Maybe my fan's just too loud.
Different layout.
How is there like nowhere to hide?
Munching on sweets? Oh! Are they talking about the real-life counterparts?
If Queen's Necklace is weak to Gun. Then what is Koh-I-Noor weak to?
We're burglars🤨🤨
He was alone where did the other two come from?
New cut scene.
Haru has 6 Ammo!? Why does it go down to 1 in Royal?
I like the way they did the eavesdropping sections.
Yusuke learns Counterstrike way later in Royal. Like 2 whole palaces later.
"We're not far".🤬🤬 It takes so long to get there.
Different layout.
The robot's bopping to the music.
Different layout.
Unvoiced conversation.
Lilim is weak to Gun, Wind and Bless?
I've never seen a Treasure Demon that knows healing moves or buffs/debuffs.
Different layout.
Different colours for the hydraulic presses.
Different sounds for them too.
Koh-I-Noor has no weakness?
No lasers. Different layout.
I always thought Ryuji's 2nd tier Persona had an "N" at the end.
The urge to use every Persona, just so I can hear his voice. 😋😋
Different sounds for breaking the arms.
I didn't know you could pause the timer by opening the menu.
Unvoiced conversation.
No lasers.
Unvoiced conversation.
I don't like the airlock puzzle. But at least you get a nice view. 😏😏
Scathath? I don't see her till Maruki in Royal.
Different switch noise.
Different layout.
Really wish they gave the option to leave directly after clearing a path to the treasure. They stopped doing that after Madarame.
Wait, you could get an invitation for the next day even if you went to the palace that day? In Royal, that doesn't work even if you use Kawakami. That's why you do Futaba as soon as it opens. So, you can get the aquarium date.
Mishima definitely creamed his pants.
Even Chihaya knows Mishima isn't your friend. 🤣🤣 I've never gotten that scene because I'm always battling Okumura. They straight up just leave him. 🤣🤣
Takemi used to sell Homunculus?
Unvoiced conversation.
Doesn't tell you how many items you can make.
3 categories instead of 2.
Elemental throwables were grouped together.
Couldn't make multiple at once.
Different question.
I don't like Life Will Change instrumental.
Taking the long way around.
No enemy there.
Oh yeah, we have to go the long way.
No dialogue after you hit the door.
So, a minute in Vanilla versus roughly 20 secs in Royal. Although, you do miss out on a chest. But it's nothing that game-breaking.
There's no way this dude would change. He's better off dead.
"I will crush you all". More like you'll use other people as cannon fodder. 🤬🤬
Why does the timer still run when the dialogue's going? I mean it's like seconds, but still.
I like how he backflips.
You have to do this without Haru's baton pass. 😨😨🤬🤬
Mix of robots makes it a bit harder.
Okay, he does add more if you don't beat all of them.
No targeting specific people.
Same number of waves.
I hate the Executive.
"I need sushi". 🤣🤣
The first time I used Izanagi-No-Okumi-Piacaro. The second I used Magatsu-Izanagi. Third and fourth I shot him.
He has a lot more health in Vanilla.
You could take him on at LV.40-42? In Royal, you should be at least 44-45 or higher.
"He'll be fine". 🤣🤣 If dead means fine, then sure. He'll be fine.
What made him change?
Unvoiced conversation.
Added a question to Iwai's R.1.
Unvoiced conversation.
You could get skill cards out of chests in Mementos?
Added a question to Shinya's R.1.
I like Shinya.
Different question.
When Bullet Hail activates the camera angle changes slightly. Same for Treasure Demons, although there's a bit of pause when that happens. It pauses a bit with Disaster Shadows too.
Depending on how much money you have. Getting 100K Yen could potentially help you.
"Just make sure no one sees you". Sure Morgana, nobody's going to see me building bombs and lock picks in class.
"Please leave". 🤣🤣 Look I know Akechi reads more as a yandere in Vanilla, but holy shit. 🤣🤣
Even though Chihaya's older than you. Her romance is pretty cute.
Slightly different question.
I love all the Sonic references.
Morgana doesn't tell you if there's any targets left in the area. Nor does he tell you about where they are. You just have to keep going down and wait till he says something at the start.
Treasure Demons Null all elements they're not weak to. I've only seen that in Strikers, on Merciless. In Royal, they resist.
Also, Stone Of Scone is weak to curse, not fire.
Orlov is weak to curse and found in Sae's Palace.
Different question.
"You're always free". Damn, Futaba.🤣🤣 Poor man has to solve the whole of Tokyo's problems+save the world and you deliver that sick of a burn.
"It's not like there's any customers here". 🤣🤣
"You just had to get close to me". 🙄🙄 Dude, you're the one who wouldn't leave me alone! I've been trying to stay away from you!
"Please leave"x2
They moved Mishima-Dome Town back from 10-9 to 11-3. I've taken that meeting once. I wanted points on Shinya.
They turned 10-10 into a normal hangout. In Royal, you go to Nakano and meet Iwai.
Slightly different question.
"Oh please, give me a break". 🤣🤣 I love the way he says that.

More Notes:
The 'Wild Cards' in this just have really good partnership/Resonance abilities with everyone in their groups, so they can work with any of the Weapons in their groups (and even outside of them a lot of times... looking at Ren and Loki for an example. xP) uncannily naturally.
The Navis in this are all Witches, but good-natured ones, and use their magic to support their respective groups/help make the world a better place. For example, Futaba would probably be able to 'hack' souls somehow with her magic, and also her reclusiveness in this would be at least in part due to being terrified of people finding out her true nature as a Witch. I'm not sure how welcomed/persecuted/the general climate of Witches are/is in this AU yet though.
The Arisato twins and Ryoji are all children of Death in this, with Ryoji being the older sibling and the twins being twins. Death is still Death like he is in SE-OG in this AU, more or less.
Ryoji and Aigis tend to float between Minato and Minako as their secondary partners, though Aigis tends to stick more to Minato as his primary partner and much less often swaps to Minako, while Ryoji shifts between his two siblings more frequently. Yukari swaps about as much as the rest of SEES's Weapons do among their Wild Cards, which is more or less situationally or for fun. Despite this, Aigis and Ryoji still don't get along particularly well with one another, only putting up with each other for their Meisters' sakes.
Strega did exist in this, though I'm not sure yet what their aim was, or the fate of its members. At the very least, they were some kind of rogue antagonist group, and Takaya used to be the Meister of both Jin and Chidori. Chidori ends up defecting to DWMA though, or whatever organization Junpei is a part of.
Aigis, maybe Ryoji?, Mitsuru, Labrys, and Minazuki are all Weapons that can fight without Meisters. Loki and/or Robin Hood might also be among them? I'm undecided.
Originally, I was considering having the cast have their Personas as their Weapon-partners, and just have them have personalities based off of their Shadow-selves' but more aligned with their accepted-selves, but I decided against it in the end. Akechi gets to be the exception, because he's Akechi.
Speaking of Akechi-- Robin and Loki are very powerful Weapons in this AU. Loki's 'chaos magic' would become an incredibly chaotic/maddening soul-wavelength that most others wouldn't be able to handle contact with on its own, as well as perhaps some Madness magic or abilities of some kind? Robin's soul meanwhile would be much calmer and help to counteract/cover-up Loki's from those who can sense souls, as well as perhaps provide some tactical abilities; I'm undecided on that for now. I'm not sure who's side Akechi would be on in this AU yet, like if he was being manipulated by a Shido-like person or not, and for what reason if so.
As for Robin and Loki's personalities and appearances in this... Well, the latter would be somewhat similar to their Persona forms probably, including some of the less-human traits given OG-SE characters (*stares intensely at Excalibur*), and the former would also be somewhat based off of those, as well as sort of how Akechi acts in relation to both of his 'masks'? So Robin tends to be calmer and more polite, though he still possesses a small amount of vengeful desire or bloodlust, whilst Loki is a lot more chaotic, hot-blooded, and very vengeful/aggressive. Both share a tendency towards showiness however, and sometimes get in small competitions with one another to up the other to impress their Meister or be the better Weapon among themselves (since they both might think already that they're superior to other Weapons in general? Unsure).
Also speaking of manipulated and abused children, Sho and Minazuki, alongside Ikutsuki, more or less replace Crona, Ragnarok, and Medusa in this. Not fully 1-for-1 however. Ikutsuki is very much a human, albeit a Mad or power-hungry one (still kinda looking to create a Kishin or otherwise bring about some kind of catastrophic destruction), and Minazuki is a separate Weapon, as opposed to how Ragnarok is Crona's Black Blood. Minazuki and Sho might be twins however, just with one a human/Meister and the other a Weapon. They look almost identical physically in this AU, even down to haircuts, but Minazuki lacks the iconic X-ish shaped face scarring that Sho possesses (and overall the two have a different patterning of scars across their bodies), and Sho's irises appear to be more gray while Minazuki's appear to be more blue. Weapon-form-wise, Minazuki looks like Sho's OG katanas, just in different colors and as a singular blade rather than a pair.
Ikutsuki is still forcing Sho and Minazuki to become stronger in similar methods to Medusa in some ways however, such as going out and obtaining/consuming great amounts of human (and maybe even Witch) souls.
Sho's a little less messed-up than Crona is, due to Minazuki being supportive of and dedicated to him as opposed to bullying him into submission like Ragnarok does to Crona. That being said however, I don't yet know why Minazuki hasn't yet defected from Ikutsuki. P: Other than that, Minazuki is kind of like Sho's impulse control and logical reasoning at times, due to being able to control when he transforms into his Weapon form and thus deny Sho access to his weaponry in times where he's being reckless or unreasonable. Soul-wavelengths-wise, too, Minazuki's soul just in general helps to keep Sho's soul/wavelength more stable probably?
Also in terms of replacing SE cast and plots; The IT replaces Maka et al for the sake of the main story most likely, with SEES being their upperclassmen or alumni and the PT being their underclassmen, if they even attend DWMA at this point anyways.
Lotsa dead people in OG are alive in this AU; Minato, Minako, and Ryoji, Shinjiro, Kasumi, etc.
Speaking of Kasumi; she fights kind of like Sumire does in Royal, that being making use of their gymnastics and priorly-athletic builds. Both sisters are gymnists in this still.
Alternatively, Sho and Minazuki's situations almost ended up reversed, leaving a highly impulsive/aggressive Weapon-Sho and a Meister-Minazuki who would have the kinda backwards idealology of trying to protect his Weapon partner in times where it would be best left to the Weapon to defend their Meister, but also really good at getting Sho to focus when wielding him as a weapon/in resonance (and can in general reign him in to some degree while others can't), making them an exceedingly deadly duo. I kind of prefer Minazuki as the Weapon however, as fun as the reverse could be, as it gives Ikutsuki a bit more leverage over Sho's situation I think? Also in that vein, it would make a lot of sense, given OG, for Minazuki to be more like a Black Blood entity like Ragnarok; however, I like Minazuki being able to have his own body in this, so that can be left for another AU perhaps. xP
Ikutsuki would infiltrate/be trusted by the DWMA in this AU at first, like Medusa was, but eventually get outed for his true intentions most likely. He might be a teacher or other kind of faculty rather than a nurse however?
Maruki meanwhile gets to play the role of school nurse in this. He's not a few screws loose like his Royal counterpart is though, he's just a humble nurse. However, he does still have his interest in researching dangerous subjects, though I haven't yet decided if that would be magic, Witches, Madness, Kishins, or what. It could potentially put him in knowing-contact with the Navis, if they aren't already known to be Witches by the DWMA anyways.
I'm not yet sure on what to do with Adachi or Nyx yet. Nyx might be some kind of Madness-related catastrophe, power, or individual perhaps however?
Rei and Zen are probably just civilians in this. Zen just happens to be really devoted to protecting/looking after(?) Rei still. xD
I'm undecided on if Marie should be amnesiac about her Witchhood or if she should be more like Izanami-no-Mikoto from OG in this.
Yusuke is still obsessed with artistry and beauty in this, so you can imagine what he's like as a Meister. He is still capable as a fighter and dependable when needed... more or less, but is also still easily distracted by, and places higher priority on, such things.
Ryuji kinda gets the short end of the stick because I didn't particularly know who to pair him with or what really to do with him at the moment. Mishima's a big tentative as his partner as a result of that, though I think it could prove to be an interesting relationship potentially.
I'm hoping to add more SL/Confidant and secondary/tertiary/background cast peeps eventually into various roles, but I'd need to do more refreshing/research on them first. I also haven't decided on if I should include Metis in this or not.
If the SE info is inaccurate, it's because I haven't seen the anime or read-up on it in like years. I might do clarifying/fact-checking research some day, but for now, nah. xP

The Phantom Thieves and their weapons
One thing that’s really bugged me lately is the fact that the phantom thieves just,, have weapons. In real life. And they buy them irl so they don’t just disappear when they leave the Metaverse. So here are some headcanons about how the heck they deal with that.
Akira
Akira is lucky because he just has knives. Those are pretty easy to hide in his bag, so he usually goes with that.
He’s gotten a lot more careful over the course of the year. A kid seeing a random dagger in his bag within the first week of being at Shujin lead to some rumors about him being a psycho knife wielding killer, and ever since that knife stays very buried until they’re in the metaverse.
Ryuji
Ryuji starts out with excuses. A baseball bat? Yeah he’s been trying to get better at the batting cages ever since the track team ended. A crowbar? His mom needed help with something that got stuck.
Unfortunately, as his weapons get stronger they also get harder to explain. Everyone already thinks he’s a delinquent though, so a lot of the time they just kind of shake their heads.
“At least he’s not hurting anyone?” “He’s just kind of a weird guy.” “Don’t mess with Sakamoto I guess”
Ann
Ann. Poor Ann. Because when high school boys see a pretty girl with a whip, their minds go to exactly one place, and honestly the rumors about her were already pretty bad.
She’s pretty mortified, honestly. The first time someone asks about the whip and alludes to some. *cough*. Interesting hobbies, she turns bright red and snaps at them. This, of course, leads to some more comments along the same lines
By the end of the year, people are pretty much convinced she’s a dominatrix, and at some point she stops trying to shut down the rumors. It never worked with Kamoshida, and now people are just a little intimidated by her. Let them think what they want.
Yusuke
Absolutely no one questions that Yusuke has an ever-growing katana collection. Anyone who sees him carrying around his weapon just kinda shrugs and goes “yeah that checks out, he’s weird”
Makoto
At first, Makoto has an easy time hiding her weapons, and explaining them when she can’t. After all, she takes self defense classes. It’s her version of pepper spray, she explains. A little extreme, but everyone accepts it and talks about how badass the student council prez is.
Then the brass knuckles get spikier, and then they turn into gauntlets and thats, uh,, harder to explain.
She starts pretending that she’s a cosplayer, and those are different armor and weapon styles she’s trying out. Of course, this prompts people at ask questions about it, and she gets Futaba to teach her about cosplay so she can lie a little easier
Sae would like to know where this hobby came from. Is she really not home so much that she missed this new hobby entirely?
Haru
Hiding an axe is a massive problem in the beginning. How is she going to explain that to her dad when they’re literally in the process of changing his heart?
She ends up leaving it at school whenever she can, because at least it’s a little less weird for the gardening club to have an axe. Not by much, but a little bit.
Makoto is the one who has the idea to put it in an instrument case. It takes a while to find a case that’s big enough, but eventually the sight of Haru walking around with a case for an upright base is a common sight.
Unfortunately, the band kids want to know how long she’s been playing, and then they want her to join the school band, and there’s really no explanation for why she can’t… so Haru ends up learning how to play the upright bass as a cover.
Bonus: Akechi
This boy uses a literal lightsaber, so I have to imagine it just looks like a lightsaber hilt in the real world. Easy enough to stash in a bag or even a coat pocket.
He’s secretly a big nerd so anyone close enough to notice a collection of lightsabers just assumes it’s a featherman thing and doesn’t ask about it. He’s touchy about people calling him out on his nerdiness.

What about an Akechi/Joker role swap AU where Akechi is still the detective prince and Joker is still the Shujin delinquent, but the major difference is that Morgana never lost his memories and found Akechi before he approached Shido with his metaverse assassination plot?
Like, imagine Akechi, bitter and jaded, who has just awakened Loki and felt the terrifying and thrilling rush of the berserk power. He's formed a plan to get back at his piece of shit father, even managed to set up a meeting, which he had to set up months in advance, and on the day he's going to present Shido with info on the metaverse, he winds up arriving a few minutes late, because even though he intended to be early, he was accosted by a talking cat (he's been in the metaverse, so he can hear him) on the way over, and in the whole wtf-ery of the moment, lost track of time. Shido, being Shido, refuses to see him and will not reschedule because he doesn't like having his time wasted.
Pissed off, Akechi leaves to find Morgana still waiting for him outside. So he doesn't look like an idiot yelling at a cat on the street, he brings Morgana back to his shitty apartment, where Morgana explains why he had found Akechi and whats up. He doesn't know about Yaldobaoth taking Igor's place, he just knows there's two champions, and Akechi was the one he found first, so he must be Igor's chosen champion. (It is my theory that it doesn't actually matter who was Igor's and Yaldobaoth's champions, it was more about the choices they each made and where they ended up.)
Akechi has no interest in saving the world, but he knows that if he wants to get back at Shido, he needs to become someone of consequence, so he agrees to undergo Morgana's training, since Morgana clearly knows more about the metaverse than he does, and he can use it to solve cold cases, earning him a place as the Detective Prince. He changes a few hearts, to pacify Morgana, too. It takes a couple years, but during his senior year in high school, he makes it, earning himself the cooperation of the police and the spotlight of the public eye. He's getting so close to making Shido notice him that he can practically taste it. Also, what’s this ‘velvet room’ he keeps dreaming about?
Then Morgana finds Kamoshida’s palace and is like ‘heyo, you thought changing hearts in the metaverse was cool, check this shit out’ and Akechi is admittedly intrigued , so he takes a look. He sees the inside of Kamoshida’s heart and is appropriately disgusted and says to Morgana, ‘hey we should totally kill this guy’s shadow.’ Morgana’s like ‘why is your first suggestion always murder, we don’t know what would happen if we killed his shadow, Igor wasn’t very clear about that bit, we should try stealing the treasure instead’ and Morgana has been useful (and it’s been really nice to have the company these past two years, though he won’t admit that) so Akechi agrees ‘fine, we’ll steal the treasure, but if that doesn’t work, then I’m killing his shadow.’
And that’s when Ryuji and Ann make an appearance (’ohmigawd, goro, be more careful with that damn app, i s2g.’) Ryuji’s mom apparently thinks Akechi is pretty neat and watches all his interviews, so Ryuji knows who he is and is delighted to find out that the lame-ass detective his mom has talked about is actually a grumpy badass in the metaverse, with this shadow that has some kind of insane power, and hey, he helped them bring down Kamoshida (alive,) so maybe he is actually pretty cool, even though sometimes he spaces out and talks about evil twins and some longed-nose dude. He decides then and there that he’s going to be Akechi’s best friend, since he apparently has none, and Ann is all too happy to join in for the ride, and all of Goro’s protests have fallen on deaf ears, and they know about the whole detective prince thing being a facade, so he might as well indulge them for now.
The ‘Phantom Thieves’ (a name that makes Goro want to roll his eyes whenever he hears it, and why is everyone calling him ‘leader?’) gain fame and change hearts, gaining new members such as this weird-ass artist dude who fights with ice, and oh, god, one Nijima is bad enough, don’t tell me there’s two! and she uses nukes, wtf?!
Around this time, he also meets Shujin’s delinquent, enigmatic transfer student whose talk of hope and justice never quite seem to reflect in his stormy grey eyes, and he and Goro are clearly birds of a feather in a way, he can tell, there’s just something about him, and he thinks this guy might actually be his best friend, but don’t tell Ryuji that, he’d never hear the end of it.
Akechi learns the truth behind Akira’s arrest and Shido’s involvement and he is disgusted to find that he genuinely wants to help this guy, and he can’t do that if Shido’s dead, maybe he doesn’t want his revenge as badly as he thought??? Oh, ew, I have feelings that aren’t anger and it’s all my friends’ fault, I can’t just leave them and go off to get revenge, they’d literally die without me, those lovable idiots. Also, when Ryuji saw his home, he pretty much insisted he stay with him instead, and Ryuji’s mom reminds him of the good times he had with his own mother, and he honestly doesn’t think he has the strength to disappoint her like that. So, he decides to change Shido’s heart, but he knows that there’s no way that this little group of miscreants is strong enough to take on the fucked up bullshit that he’s seen in Shido’s heart, so let’s hit pause on that for now.
Shido had Wakaba killed via completely non-supernatural ways and stole her research, same as before, so Futaba still has a palace. He found out Akira worked at Leblanc a while ago and started dropping by, and then somehow Ryuji found out about it, and now all the Phantom Thieves know, so much for a peaceful place to get away, but he actually doesn’t mind that much, and Akira lets Akechi keep an eye on the shop when there are no customers so he can go out and do errands and Boss doesn’t mind, so they’ve ended up hanging out there as a group from time to time and talking Phantom Thief business, so Futaba knows who they are, and asks for their help.
Okumura’s palace pretty much goes the same, Okumura dies somehow, are we responsible, why does murder actually make me feel kinda bad, stupid friends and their stupid good influence.
Goro attends the Shujin student fair as guest speaker, whoa, the class president being friends with Akechi does have its perks, doesn’t it? Akira finds them all there together and approaches them, tells them he saw them go into the metaverse, awakened his own persona, and saw a guy in a black mask kill Okumura’s shadow, hey why don’t I join you, you probably need all the help you can get, who’s heart are we stealing next, how about Sae, she knows my probabtion officer and has been giving me hell, plus I already checked, she definitely has a palace.
They agree, and oh, hey, Akira can hear Morgana talk now, but WAIT A MINUTE?! Didn’t he hear Morgana talk before when he told Goro that Leblanc didn’t sell sushi, even though Goro hadn’t asked for any?
They hack Akira’s phone, learn that Shido (Akechi recognizes that voice) will have thugs waiting to capture them when they leave the palace. They plan around it, pull the metaverse switch and manage to sneak a heavily drugged Akechi out of the warehouse Shido stashed him in by traveling through the metaverse. Shido’s lackey’s have written a fake suicide letter from the leader of the Phantom thieves, and the chief of police, under Shido’s orders, delivers a statement confirming its authenticity, and look the plan succeeded. All they need to do know is take down Shido.
Things are going great, until they get to the engine room, where Joker, having realized what happened, is waiting for them. Joker, who lost everything after he transferred, who discovered the metaverse completely alone, who didn’t mean to kill that guy’s shadow, but he attacked him first, and Shido had somehow known, had been keeping an eye on him, had him convicted for a crime that he didn’t commit in the hopes that he would break because he needed an agent in the metaverse, and so far he’s had no luck. Joker, who had nothing left to lose and had accepted the only hand that had reached out for him.
They fight, and when it looks like things are going badly for Joker, he pulls out... a second persona?!?! At least, it looks like a persona, but something about it is off. it looks familiar somehow. And then Akira asks if they knew it was possible to fuse personas and Akechi realizes what he’s looking at. These aren’t the clean executions that Caroline and Justine perform, these are personas that have been ripped apart and haphazardly thrown back together with no thought to form or elegance, look, there’s a Yaksini’s arm, and that bit right there clearly used to belong to a Rangda, and I think that piece might have belonged to a Seiryu, and Akechi should stop listing personas now because Ann thinks she’s going to be sick.
They keep fighting. Joker can’t understand the difference in power between them. After all, aren’t they the same? Unloved, unwanted, soldiers pitted against each other by some bullshit higher power?
When Joker shoots the bulkhead door closed and Futaba reports that she’s lost Joker’s reading, Akechi vows then and there that he’s going to kill Shido after all. And he almost does. He stands there, with his gun pressed to the head of the shadow of his father, his friends can’t blame him, and even Morgana knows better than to try and stop him. But he doesn’t. He remembers Akira’s madness there at the end, and wonders what he would have become of him if it weren’t for Ryuji, who somewhere along the way, he’d realized he’d stopped tolerating and started actually liking. Ann, who shared his woes about being in the public eye and swapped tips with him about how to handle the press. Yusuke, who, although he was still completely bizarre to him, appreciated the beauty in life and didn’t tease Goro for his taste in Grandpa clothes. Makoto, who knew the importance of hard work and who, between herself and her sister, had caused Goro to pick up some healthier coping mechanisms. Futaba, who made fun of him for his food blog, but liked the same nerd bullshit that he did and would bombard him with memes until his day somehow became a little less shittier. Haru, who dreamed of starting her own business and actually cared about Goro’s opinions, and could threaten someone with a smile in a way that even Goro was jealous of. And Morganna, who had reminded him what it was like to not be lonely, and demanded more sushi than he could afford, but always made sure Goro ate his fill, instead of getting so focused on his work that he forgot.
Akechi guesses that he must have turned soft somewhere during the past several months, but after seeing what happened to Akira, he can’t help but be grateful, knowing with certainty that if things had turned out differently, that would have been him. Hey, Morgana, you know that world-saving bs you talked about two years ago? Let’s leave this piece of shit here to rot and focus our attention on that instead.
And you guys know the rest.
Or, at least, that’s how I thought it would go. Feel free to share your thoughts. :)

Rpg Anon: I wouldn't say that Celes is fire since fire was part of her execution. Yes I know the firetruck killed her not the fire but it's associated. Regardless, here's a quick list of just their weaknesses.
Sayaka: Lightning, Blunt, Pierce
Leon: Ice
Chihiro: Psy, Blunt
Mondo: Light/Bless
Taka: Dark/Curse, Blunt
Hifumi: Nuke, Blunt (wtf is with all the Blunt trauma in this class?)
Celes: Light/Bless, Fire, Blunt
Sakura: Poison
Mukuro: Pierce
Junko: Light/Bless, Almighty (at certain times)
Komaru: Psy
Toko/Syo: Wind, Gun
Hiro: Nuke, All Physical
Aoi: Fire, Psy,
Kyoko: Fire, Pierce
Makoto: Dark/Curse
Yeah admittedly this was a bit one note, but it was just their weaknesses. If you have any questions or something you want to add or whatever, tell me.
//Cool. I think most of these make sense.
//By the way, update from my previous post about their elements, there are a few things I’ve thought about in the meanwhile since I first posted.
Mondo could also pass as being a Nuke element. The reason why I didn’t include him last time is because Dark also worked, and also I already designated three characters to be Nuke (Byakuya, Chihiro and Komaru). Not only would Mondo’s bike run on fuel, but the character in Persona 5 who specializes in Nuclear attacks is Makoto Niijima, who’s Persona is LITERALLY a motorcycle.
Along the same lines, I see Chihiro being in the position of a character like Fuuka/Rise/Futaba, in that he’s not a fighter, and is backup/navigator that provides buffs for the party and hacks locked gates for everyone. I don’t know how the RPG works in comparison to Persona, but even if Chihiro was a fighter I’d imagine his stats are pretty poor, besides maybe magic if that constitutes to intelligence. Personally I think each group from each game could have a nav character. DR1 would have Chihiro, DR2 would have Chiaki, DR3 would have Ryota, UDG would have Monaca (potentially Monaca could duo, like Morgana does early game) and DRV3 would have...I actually don’t know, but probably Himiko? She’s probably the physically weakest of the group, but she’s also not very smart. Miu passes as well, but given Miu’s personality, I don’t think she’d take kindly to being put on the sidelines.
I’m now enforcing the Toko electric element idea because I realize just how perfect it is when paired with other elements. In P5, using a Nuclear attack on an enemy who is shocked causes technical damage. This means that Toko works excellently in a team that includes either Komaru or Byakuya.
In regards to the weaknesses list, this sounds a bit unfair and makes him kinda useless, but I think Leon should at least have low physical resistance. Not necessarily a weakness, but considering he was bludgeoned to death, he probably had a brittle skeleton.

Oh oh oh!!! Anntaba for the ask game them! (It sounds so cute!)
I ship it!!!! 💖
What made you ship it?:
I’ve mentioned it before, but funnily enough it was because of a meme compilation. Someone edited Ann+Futabas names over a vine of two people being romantic and when I saw that, it just clicked
Favourite thing about the ship?:
I love their potential to just be so,, incredibly wholesome and sweet and loving!! They definitely seem like the couple to be so in love and so supportive of each other. They constantly encourage and help each other improve, meanwhile giving very much needed love+care. Ann and Futaba are both lonely kids, and I imagine they would both kinda struggle with being too attached to each other. But I think as time goes on they learn and help each other adjust and give each other space without fear of abandonment. They’ve got a lot of issues to work out internally but Ann is right there to be a pillar of support for Futaba and Futaba’s always ready to crack a joke or two and lift Ann’s spirits!! At the end of the day they just love each other so much and they want the best for their partner ^_^
Unpopular opinion about the ship?:
Uhh honestly since anntaba is such a rarepair I think any opinion would count as unpopular LMAO- but I guess I’d have to say that I think they would both take a very long time to date. No matter how obvious it is the other person likes them, both Ann+Futaba believe for so long that they’d never like them. Ann telling herself that Futaba probably sees her like an older sister so she could never like her, and Futaba insisting that a literal model could never like a gremlin like her. And, they probably also have huge doubts if the other even likes girls (Futaba doubting it especially). Basically they’re a mega slow burn pair because they’re both just so unsure of themselves

outside the restaurant, there is
like
what if yosuke hanamura never realized he was an asshole and just grew up into a fucking Super Asshole and full blown sexist and thought wearing rose-tinted glasses was cool
i wonder if the rose-tinted glasses are purposeful, that seems like a very specific design choice, but I have no idea if that cultural touchpoint would exist in Japan as well. I'm going to continue eyeing is suspiciously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bro, I think Haru exclusively reads horticultural books and horror novels. I don't think she is your target audience.
That said, this fucking move of getting down on a knee to proffer up a book is incredibly over the top and dramatique, what is with this guy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
B R U H no. Haru will kill you. Don't do this. Trust me, I am doing you a solid, you don't wanna go through with this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is very kind of the boys though. Don't stand by while a dude pulls this shit.
That said, Haru could def kill this guy. I mean, it might be a tiny scandal for Okumura Foods but what else is new.

aaaaand we found our new Monarch clearly.

THE INSIDE OF THE CAMPER.... is kinda cute, I see what they meant about the 50s diner vibes, that's..... kind of really cute and frankly WAY better than what I imagine when I think of campers, which tends to be shitty faux-wood and bad linoleum or carpeting.
Futaba squeezing herself up onto the storage rack is really just a vibe too.

He's a light novelist, huh. I dunno how accurate it is, but I consider that a mix of manga and YA? Like, not necessarily written for younger audiences but written to be very digestible? And sometimes have interspersed illustrations? Good foundation for weird experimental shit but is very Genre.
Tumblr media
what the fuck don't touch fucking cosplayers /horror
Tumblr media
So there is tons of discussion and praise for Natsume online but it's all coming from Sendai.
Is he a local sensation? Like, there's already been ambient dialogue about people buying multiple copies of the book. How many of his million copies are the same people.... or is he going from city to city to spread the influence of his Jail?
HUH! Sidebar: If you have a Jail but you go to another location, does the Jail go with you or do you make another Jail? We've already established that once a Monarch is removed, the Jail remains in the Metaverse.
HMMMMM. That sounds like an interesting thread to pull but IDK if the game will play with it.
Tumblr media
are they really going to keep calling him Gramps, he doesn't even give old vibes like Sojiro
also he's a grown-ass man, it's rude to keep referring to him by a nickname like that! the audacity!
Tumblr media
are they serious
Tumblr media
hey yusuke have you considered therapy? not maruki but like actual therapy?
earlier before we left, i missed the cap, but Futaba was reminding Yusuke his snack budget was 500 yen and he was like "but my rock salt" and I continue to be, like, SO concerned about Yusuke Kitagawa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
REVERIE LITERALLY PUMPS HIS FIST AS HE REPLIES TO RYUJI, L M A O.
Sleep is great, I say as someone who is going to bed the moment I hit post on this blog entry.
Tumblr media
ANN FUCKING PUNCHES THE SIDE OF THE CAMPER AND TELLS THEM ALL okay ryuji bc ryuji was speaking in his normal volume which is outdoor voice for everyone else TO SHUT THE FUCK UP SO THEY CAN SLEEP.
Tumblr media
FINALLY i can look around Sendai without Morgana shooing me back to the camper to continue the plot. AT LAST.
but i got work tomorrow so i gotta sleep, alas.

What kind of random things do you think the thieves would be interested in? Aside from the obvious of course like I dunno uhhhh Ryuji being a car buff despite not being able to tell them apart like Makoto can or something? I know Labrys isn't a P5 character but I'm giving her a piccolo for fun and it's just got me thinkin about the thieves ya know?
Hmmmm, I've never really thought about this before but now that you've brought it up:
-Since I headcannon Ren as a musical boy, I think that he'd be really interested in video game soundtracks. Like, he can pick out composers by the general sound of the music and he can gush for hours about how the soundtrack is used in the context of scenes and any motifs that happen to be present within the soundtrack.
-I don't know why, but I like to imagine that Goro writes in his spare time. Like, it started off with writing diary entries, then he started writing letters to his mother, then he tried poems, and then he started getting ideas for stories so he wrote them down. It mostly started out as a way to vent without ruining his Detective Prince image but he began to enjoy it. So he could probably tell you all sorts of different techniques and writing styles... But he won't. Cause he doesn't want anyone to know he writes.
-I think Ann and Haru would both really enjoy baking. I know Sumire is confirmed to be a good cook, so I imagine the three of them just having nights together where they pick out recipes to try out. I think Haru would really enjoy making French treats like macarons and crepes, Ann would like things that are simple and sweet like cupcakes and cookies, and Sumire would like making homely recipes like apple pie and gingerbread.
-Yusuke would be interested in any form of art, so I think one that would shock his friends would be theatre. I think he'd be enthralled by the costumes and the music and the way the performers move around the stage. The only problem is he sadly usually can't afford to attend shows in person. When he does go, he considers it a lovely treat.
-Makoto, I think would be really knowledgeable about all forms of martial arts. Like, she studied aikido and became interested and now wants to learn the others but is worried about what people would think of her. So, she's kinda like Chie and Lisa, except she watches martial art movies in secret.
-Ryuji, I know not a look of people would think this, but I think he enjoys cooking. Like, in the dancing game, he mentions learning how to make one simple thing so he could stop pestering his mum to make it for him. So, now I just imagine that he learns how to cook all of their favourite meals so he can surprise his mum when she comes home from a really long day at work.
-And Futaba. A little out of nowhere, but I think she really enjoys playing the ocarina. Sojiro was quite surprised when she said out of nowhere that she started learning how to play the ocarina, and then he saw Ocarina Of Time next to her games consoles and immediately understood why.

@nagiru Starting a new post because the old one was getting a bit out of hand. Also using the lovely read more function because I can XD
“Fine. FINE. My brother is dating a very scary very pretty man, my cat talks, I visit people’s minds, WHATEVER. I am done giving a fuck today.” Not giving a fuck is very liberating XD
Jungo making curry and coffee flavoured chawanmushi is so cute. Honestly everything about Jungo is adorable. He is the chillest most adorable soft badass. Oh my god Jungo would DOTE over Morgana. Kitty is best. All kitties are best. This is truth.
Sofie has long since decided Ryoji is her platonic soulmate so by all means go ahead! But just imagine the PT’s faces when the Reaper goes from being Very Scary to a kinda dorky teenager who is crying on their friend. WHAT. WHAT IS HAPPENING. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHY IS DEATH A TEENAGER? (Sofie’s response is “Oh, he’s not death, but he is death’s son. :D”)
Oh man, Shido would ABSOLUTELY do that. Not test it on Wakaba at first, though. He’d leave Wakaba for when he was sure that Goro’s abilities were reliable and then kill her to stop her from publishing her research. I’ve also heard theories suggesting that Shido was Futaba’s sperm donor (he doesn’t deserve to be called a father) and I must admit I generally think they’re on the money. We’ve already seen Shido using sex as a weapon through Akira’s circumstances after all.
I love Yusuke but only after he joins the team. Before that he makes me very uncomfortable. Like. I get he saw her only as a model but that doesn’t change how very gross his behaviour was. In one of my other fics, I did a twinfic, Akira’s twin Ai gives him a right talking to and then volunteers to model for him herself so Ann doesn’t feel pressured. I should dig that fic out too...
Honestly Sae strikes me as exactly the kind of person who Yamato would despise. She uses a broken justice system for her own gain, belittles and pushes down on the people around her, took responsibility for Makoto’s upbringing and then pretty much abandoned her in favour of her work... Like. Look at the difference between Otome and Sae in how they treat the family they’re raising. Otome is super busy but gives every second she can to Koharu and would die to protect her. Sae is super busy and only views Makoto as an extension of herself and belittles her when she doesn’t fit into the box she’s made for her.
Yeah you’ve probably gathered by now that I DO NOT LIKE SAE.

So carrying on the shared symbol thing with persona games, here’s a fun one that probably needs more time in the oven but hey, can come back later with later revelations
So, here’s one that technically shows up in the first game but doesn’t really become a thing until (I am assuming, i still need to actually play the first few and finish most of them but whatever) Persona 3
Evokers! Also known as guns. Specifically hand guns, but I think that’s the least important detail when one of the big symbols of your game is shooting yourself in the head to summon mythic figures.
So Evokers. In game, and as per the wiki, they are supposed to function by more or less...making you face mortality and the fact that you’re going to die for real.
By simulating shooting yourself in the face. It’s a good thing that the Kirijo group already got their mad science comeuppance because man, that’s kinda...
But hey, the logic and rules at play here do seem to be consistent across the games. To Summon a persona requires, apparently, a huge amount of stress and or trauma to activate properly, and the Evokers are a fast way to do that that isn’t, comparatively anyway, super duper traumatic. It’s free artificial trauma for everyone that is comparatively less permanent.
Which...Well I don’t believe that for a second considering SEES is one big trauma center. I don’t think there is a single person in that group who is trauma free really. Nobody is free of it, even the dog.
I mean maybe the protag, but they come off as super depressed to me.
But for the moment let’s accept that as true. If i’m wrong i’m wrong, but I think i’m right and i want to get to the juicy stuff.
So given evokers function by applying trauma directly to the soul to summon yon persona, I think it’s obvious then what guns are SUPPOSED to represent right?
Trauma. But not just any kind of trauma no. Remember, Evokers are supposed to basically be going Hey Trauma But For A REASON. To Summon a Persona. A persona which is used to protect yourself from something (Shadows technically, but A persona is a mask used to face life’s struggles as the games are so fond of reminding us.)
So, Guns are Trauma Turned Towards Protecting Yourself from...something. My understanding of psych stuff is you know, layman, but basically it’s an active self defense mechanism. Or at least turning that pain on outside hurty things.
So if this holds true as a consistent and shared symbol going forward, we should expect that everyone who uses a gun is both
A: Traumatized in some manner.
2: Actively Defending themselves possibly by literally using that trauma against things.
Which i’m sure is totally a healthy thing to be doing. Has to be. Can’t not be right?
I can see no possible way in which using your trauma like a club against the world can possibly backfire on you.
SO!
Who uses guns in the series going forward.
In Persona 4, We have two for sure, maybe a third. That is Naoto, Adachi, and Maybe Dojima (I assume he HAS a gun, but I don’t think he’s ever shown using it. I’m going to assume for the moment this is true as fits the analysis, cause it fits well enough, but if he actually pulls it out ehh)
Persona 5 has uh...literally all of the phantom thieves. Technically not morganna, but if you think a slingshot isn’t basically a fire arm, well sure technically but also you can absolutely kill someone with a slingshot don’t get it twisted. But yeah, all of the phantom thieves and ESPECIALLY Akechi, since he uses a real one. Well, sans Futaba, but we’ll get there.
And do these individuals demonstrate being both traumatized AND using that as some kind of defense mechanism...?
yeh.
So start with P4. Now compare the other persona users in 3-5, the group in 4 is actually really well adjusted. Like yeah, you have some elements of stress and being an outcast and elements of weird harrowing stuff happening to them sure. I mean if nothing else they’re in the middle of a murder mystery with a serial killer in town, that’s stressful for anyone, let alone the weird supernatural shit on top of it, and then there’s the more mundane stressors.
But...Uh...Largely, they’re handling it pretty well actually. Protag was pretty alright moving to town and seems to get along with people well. Yosuke had the dislike of being in town but he had friends, he wasn’t really hated or anything. Chie is pretty alright, Yukiko is stressed but not exactly freaking out, Kanji has some shame going on however you want to frame that i’m told it reads different for japanese audiences though it’s not mutually exclusive, Teddie DID in fact have an existential crisis but that’s not really the same thing i think, Rise is hella stressed, and then there’s naoto who uh.
Kid’s got some problems. They’re also the only one who uses a gun So Hey First stop.
So depending on how you want to read it, Naoto is either dealing with some trans issues or just aggressive and unending misogyny given their profession. Personally while i can see the naoto is trans reading, the game doesn’t explicitly come out with that as the issue, while it DOES with the misogyny so I’m going with that. If you do think it’s more that than what i’m going with, you can easily sub it in I think since from what i’ve heard on the subject suggests it very much CAN be traumatizing dealing with that in society....And also because it’d still feed back into the misogyny thing so it comes back to that anyway.
Regardless. This is a thorny enough issue really, so i’ll strive to not fuck up but please forgive me if I do cause it’s not intentional.
What do we see with Naoto? They’re a genuinely skilled, talented and experienced detective, and at a really young age. Their skills are undeniable really, and they’ve got acclaim and real accomplishments under their belt.
They are also, apparently, belittled constantly because they’re read as female and that is apparently far far more important than their skill. Because of that they’re belittled, talked down to and dismissed purely because of that.
And Naoto is fucking tired of it. So much so that they do everything in their power to present as male and believe they should straight up just...cut out whatever lady aspects are there and just go full dude.
Which here you get two really radically(?) different readings depending on if you fall on the Naoto is Trans and so fucking tired of the misogyny vs Naoto Is fucking Tired of the misogyny and so damn desperate.
In case A, Naoto genuinely believes they’re a dude, and genuinely believes duding it up will solve their problem....But they’re rejecting that part of themselves actively, and refusing to acknowledge it at all. That’s a problem for him, if only because actively rejecting a part of yourself is by no means a healthy thing, especially when it keeps getting brought up constantly in your line of work (I can only imagine how much this would suck to be dismissed because people think you’re a girl when you’re a guy but also you’re denying that you’re a guy and recognize that even if you were outwardly a guy they would STILL dismiss you as a girl even though you’re not. Just typing that out is...yech.)
In Case B, you have a still tired of the dismissal, but also they think they radically need to change their body and gender just to get anywhere in the world which is egregiously fucked up because you know. She’s good at her job! Why should she HAVE to be a dude to get anything done? It’s fucked up.
But they’re a gunman! So...i mean i guess it’s obvious what the trauma at play here is, it’s gender related regardless of how you slice it and how is it used...? Naoto disguises (or “disguises”) themselves as a guy, actively using the thing that they’re being traumatized by to fight back against the world in some way.
I mean as thorny as the issue is in the reading it, the outcome is at least simple enough under the shared symbols thing.
Ok, but what about Adachi...? Welllllllllllllllllll
Adachi is definitely traumatized I think but it's not in the kind of way that's sharp and specific. I'm cribbing a bit off of [https://youtu.be/8qG8Mqe_1v8] with their description of how Adachi reacts to the Scoobies calling him out.
To summarize and or paraphrase, it's not that there's a specific thing that broke Adachi down. It's that he's trapped in a job he hates, or at least without the possibility of improvement. He's shoved in a backwater town when he's a city boy. He feels ignored, he doesn't like the people around him very much, he's got basically no money, he has no significant other, he has to just keep going and existing day in and day out and it's...
God it's so fucking soul killing.
It's not like his childhood was better apparently, in that it basically was a prelude to adult hood but also unlike then, he didn't have the supposed promise of do well in school and get cool shit that was summarily broken.
So what's a guy who's made to feel worthless, made to feel like a nobody, made to feel utterly disenfranchised, and has actual evidence to support some of this (keep in mind the reason he got reassigned did involve him screwing up somehow, though I don't think it's explained what or how) going to react when given the ability to act out with no consequences, or seemingly?
Well, I imagine that you would see them do some fucked up shit really. We've seen people in real life do things just as bad if not worse, and the exact way he wields his trauma is well...sadly understandable to anyone.
Though another interesting shared thing, which I neglected earlier and MAY share into the Gun Imagery is a sense of isolation. Which...Actually. Actually may track. Evokers are used by well...ritualistically killing yourself, which is for all the harm it throws out to everyone connected to you, is also a very solitary act. And in both cases here, the characters are in a very real way killing their true selves in order to deal with the world (In adachis case by presenting a fake version of himself and in Naoto's case by actively rejecting a part of themselves however you want to spin that one)
This does raise a question of the SEES gang having elements of isolation which off hand I want to say yes that's the case across the board, and only by coming together do they win but I also legitimately cannot recall how it plays out beyond the minimal We're The Only Ones Capable of Dealing With This thing which isn't quite the same thing. The ritualized killing yourself still stands so that's still in play really, and i'll keep an eye on it going forward.
I should probably ALSO keep an eye on the uh...Suicide aspects. Even looking back at Naoto and Adachi they have elements of it, although more figurative than literal. Both very much have a life is over thing related to their careers and where they end up when first introduced, so it's not an unreasonable call though the strict actual read of suicide suicide is...Hmmm...
Well I suppose Adachi's chunk of the world is accessed through the noose room if I recall, so that might not be quite as empty a connection, while Naoto's secret lab thing may not be quite as on the nose it does focus on a destruction of self in some way given the way a lot of those secret labs go about doing things in those shows.
That is, there's generally one of two outcomes. Either the Evil Org creates a mindless/corrupted pawn to use whatever their powers/abilities are for the organization (see every monster of the week) OR they create a hero/renegade warrior that uses those very same powers they were imbued with against them....Which suddenly makes me wonder if the the ambiguity of if Naoto's transness vs woman in male spaces thing is intentional in regards to how to read that section. If so that's actually clever as hell because then either way you want to read it the literal what's going on with their shadow (body modification either to become their true self and the rejection of that or to be able to actually be respected for their work and the implied destruction of self that's going on there) it reads as this is bad so...Kudos.
Anyway, off topic, maybe another day.
All this said, this leads to Dojima who SHOULD have a gun and probably does, but...never uses it that I can recall, not once. Doesn't even show up with a gun if memory serves.
It's not that he's not traumatized. He most definitely does have some shit kicking around what with the dead wife, disconnect from his daughter and all that, but he never really...weaponizes it does he? He never turns it on others, never uses it to isolate, none of that. Which is interesting because as a Cop I think we can safely say he SHOULD have a gun of some flavor right? That does seem to be the vibe, and yet he doesn't freak out. The reason why is heartfully straightforward though.
Nanako. He can't exactly revel in his hurt and lash out at folks with it. Like yes, he's not winning parent of the year at the start of the game by a long shot, but frankly emotionally distant and neglectful after your wife died but still trying (failing but trying, critically, the trying) is not the worst spot to be in, no way. And he takes to reorienting things quite well once he get's the additional stability in his life Yu and (at least in part) Adachi.
Which, really, is what also ended up saving the SEES members. Not Yu, but the fact that they managed to form genuine connections with each other that let them get past the hurt and not be taken up and swallowed by it. It's why Adachi ended up going the way he did because he really DIDN'T forge those connections, and because of the whole everything he couldn't really get out of that loop and fix himself up.
I mean Izanami's game basically threw two whole ass people into the deep end of their problems but this ain't about her right now.
So ok, that's the group from 4 and right now this is feeling pretty consistent.
So let's get to the group that has literally every party member carrying with The Phantom Thieves.
So...again, to bring it back, Guns symbolically here are weaponized trauma right? They're using that to strike back against what's threatening you, often by using it against them.
Now, there are variances with the phantom thieves for sure, and the most relevant and DIRECT one is that all of them, every last one, is an outcast of some flavor from the social norms, and this has screwed with them something fierce. Now it's not as apparent or visible in all cases, but I'll get into specifics as we go down the list, but I want to say this at the top because it fundamentally comes down to Because Of this outcast status, this particular form of trauma, they became the Phantom Thieves, and in doing so struck back against the society that hurt them, with the intent to inspire those like them.
Well not Akechi, but his specific issues at least nominally align I guess.
Anyway. I won't go into as much detail here, but I feel it's worth pointing out that their Phantom Thieves Personas are probably the cleanest way to point out how they go about weaponizing their various more personalized traumas to protect themselves and fight back.
Joker: Accused of a crime he didn't commit, sent to a city away from his family and friends, said to be a violent felon...Like it's not exactly brought up in the game in part because he's a silent protag but Joker absolutely had his life ruined. Like full stop, his world fell apart over night, not because he did something wrong but because he tried to do the right thing. And then Kamoshida happened which basically took boyo from being merely fucked over to losing what little he had left (where what he had left was a friend of a friend of his folks taking him in and shoving him in a drafty attic)
And then from said trauma he created the well...Joker Persona. Someone who emphatically is a criminal, the kind of guy who is actually pretty ominous when you consider the knife, gun and dark outfit combo making him look like some kind of assassin. That he helps people is probably a small miracle really.
But by the same token, it's blatantly clear the persona that he pretends at school is not his true self either. He has to hide himself, make himself look small and innocent and as unthreatening as humanly possible. He's not, by any means but...
Morgana: Imagine you wake up one day and you remember maybe your name, a few random bits of information, and nothing else except that you were (probably) a human and now decidedly are not. That's...Rough man. It's just rough to deal with and it's awful, and then you just keep getting hit with that fact over and over and over again. Mona's pretty straightforward, but it tracks that they would make themselves out to be the cool collected sort that they do (even though they botch it nigh constantly). If you can't remember anything about yourself, make yourself out to be the coolest smartest most talented type right?
Ryuji: He literally had an authority figure not only mock his family situation, he straight up broke his leg, killed his dream of running track, ostracized him from his friends and peers, put more pressure on his mom. He was reduced to a thug and his response to that was, apparently, let me be a (diet) delinquent then. It's not like he did anything bad really but he certainly stopped giving any kind of a shit to the world. His attitude got turned up for sure. This got more emphasized with the Actual Skull persona as a phantom thief, where he's far more intimidating, outright hostile and violent (A bat and a shotgun? yee)
Ann: I mean there's the obvious sexual assault, her friend attempting suicide, etc, but i've seen it pointed out that a good chunk of Ann's problems are also based in the fact that she's white in japan, so basically she straight up has to deal with racism too. It's why she's considered the sexy one for example (girls like her are easy you understand) so it's...well. How the game handles (or doesn't) that aside, the persona she ends up developing first off a very blithe sort of vibe to how the world views her (seen in her confidant arc) before ultimately gravitating to having more active control over her image and consciously choosing how the world will view her instead of them making the choice themselves.
Yusuke: Abusive parents (which is damn near a theme with the phantom thieves. Families being broken or Abusive which is hm) who actively stole his work, and he knew about it. It very clearly messes with his art and his relationship to this thing that he loves, and even after knowing how his adoptive dad was abusing him and other students and making a mockery of art...To which he actively throws himself into Art EVEN HARDER than before, as a dedicated fuck you on the subject. Actually straightforward, which is perhaps weird for Yusuke, but hey they can't all require deeper reading.
Makoto: Makoto's deal is a bit more complicated but boils down to She's tired of having all these expectations pushed onto her and dictating the exact kind of person she should be. Always the good girl, always kind and elegant, soft spoken, I mean she knows aikido and is supposed to be good with it. Which is why she turns that around is basically Lord Humongous, albeit less jacked dude in bondage gear and more Badass Violence Biker. Just let it all out and take no shit from anyone ever. Again straightforward enough.
Futaba: Now...Here's a weird one to say because it's...She doesn't have a gun. I mean we could probably make a fair enough statement, if an absolutely buckwild one, that she does not at this point have a trauma. Or at least, not one that is weaponized. Because well...Her issues were very self focused. She thought her mom killed herself because of her, and that almost made her (futaba) kill herself. That's not a great place to be, but it's not like she ever takes her dead mom issues out on the world. She doesn't even really take her extreme social issues out on the world. If anything she pretty much...Has them and kind of deals with them quietly.
I suppose you could say that her weapon of choice is the computer. It's no gun, obviously, but unlike everyone else up til this point she also doesn't really...hide herself. There's no fake persona (in the not summoned beings of myth and story) that she presents to the world. She's decisively genuine about everything, and pretty much the only difference between her and her Oracle persona is neat goggles yeah? Which makes her an interesting pair with Maruki who we'll get to later as another gun not haver.
Haru: Kind of a complicated one, though also kinda straightforward. She's ostracized from her father and finds the abuse that he's laying down on the people who work for them abhorent, which is bad enough, that kind of realization that your life is built on the suffering of others. There's also the uh...It's not strictly this because arranged marriages are very much business affairs more than romance, but the way it's portrayed definitely reads as her dad selling her which is you know. Not...ideal, though her specific reservations there seemed less the arranged marriage (it's business she get's it) but more the dude was an creep and also again the abuse. The family motto being betray anyone to get ahead (paraphrased to hell and back) also suggests some not so great things really, though her bond with her dad did seem to be genuinely strong, which is why her reaction is tada heroine of justice.
Which, I just realized this and I gotta point it out, actually lines up MARVELOUSLY with Morgana and Zorro. Wealthy Individual who see's the crimes and evil deeds of the world and decides to mask up and fight the crime they cannot contest with their unmasked face, warring against the system that enriched them at presumable cost to themselves because it's the right thing to do? Beautiful. Probably should look into that more. But yeah.
Sumire: I mean...I mean she basically straight up says I think I was second best to my sister in everyway and then I got her killed and her reaction to that was Let Me Be My Sister and well...yeah that's exactly how she dealt with her trauma, albeit with a little bit of magic help. And Perhaps most notably, this is almost the most explicit demonstration of Evoker Gun Antics because She Creates a Persona (“Kasumi”) To Protect Herself (alldattrauma.exe) by using that trauma (dead sister) against the world (Literally everyone else) it's...Actually a really clean example I think?
Akechi: Last but not least of the gun havers, Akechi who uh...Outcast because of family reasons (single mom, Dad's a creep) in a way that just...We don't actually ever get the details I don't think, but the way he reacts to it I think makes it clear that his whole life was basically a string of kick this kid while he's down, keep him outside the system, and of course the persona he ends up creating, both of them, end up being one the charming charismatic prince who seeks justice and a bloodthirsty lunatic, neither of which accurately reflect his true self I don't think. Aspects of it sure, but not completely. If pressed, I would say that the Akechi we see in the Third Semester is probably the closest even though he's probably a dream Akechi, being someone who does have a distinct judgement for what is right and wrong but also, critically, can and will shoot you in the face cackling as his plans come together. Rather like Joker actually, which is appropriate given their mirrored trickster roles, and the general shape of their outcomes (both get their smuggery on when things go to plan)
Anyway, the way he reacts to being forced to live an outcast is as mentioned, let me get back into that system, let me be part of it and all that.
And last but not least
Maruki: Now...He doesn't have a gun. It doesn't quite match up with the symbol thing which I think at this point is established enough that it's probably some kind of thing, but what I find interesting is that...he fits MOST of the criteria right? Definitely has a trauma that shaped how he reacted to the world and yet, it's not weaponized right? It doesn't well...evoke a different persona from him. It's not weaponized to protect him and that seems odd right? He ends up with a Palace right?
Sure. But I want to go back to what i'm proposing the Evokers Represent.
Trauma, A Destruction of the Self (Suicide literal or figurative), Isolation, and weaponizing your trauma to protect against the world...And he only actually tracks to the Trauma part of that. He IS hurt for sure, no question. He is fighting back against the world in his own way for sure, what with Azathoth and his mind whammy, and I would say that the nature of it is directing how he's doing things (no more pain for anyone yeah sure)
But where it falls apart, and actually DOES line up with the guns as metaphor for those things mentioned, is that he doesn't really Isolate. He doesn't present a fake self to protect himself. He doesn't destroy an aspect of himself to protect himself. No, he's extremely upfront that “No this is bullshit, it should change, fuck this noise, I'll do what I can with what I can and oh hey godlike power now I can help everyone”
Which cool, except that apparently in the Stay in Maruki's world ending he kinda fades into the background, which suggests the self destruction but no, not even then really. Like I know I made a bit of meta about him obscuring himself and kinda fading away as a person, but I don't think it's strictly meant to be get rid of yourself so much focus on the message and not the messenger. You can throw your mask away. No more pretending. You don't have to hurt anymore. As the song goes.
And it's worth pointing out that, in comparison to literally everyone else on this list, Maruki is unambiguously a healthier person mentally by a long shot. Shady antics with Sumire aside, He genuinely wants to help people, he want's them to be better the right way ideally but if he had the means to do it of course he'd just hot delete those deeply traumatic and life shattering pains that they couldn't overcome. Then he does get that ability. And Then he does do that.
Anyway, the ramblings on long enough, and I kinda feel i'm drifting, but yeah. Think this is another symbol that tracks (I probably wanna check out Persona Q and Q2, but what I know on those does have it break down a bit but they're also not mainline games so I'm not sure how to square that so....)

(this is just me ranting about a lack of an au, ignore if ya wanna)
Where are the Miraculous Ladybug/ Persona 5 fics??
Do people just... Not find inspiration from this crossover? Think there's nothing to do? Have no thoughts on the possibilities?
I, generally, am a petty person. I like seeing karma take the reigns, and I like seeing horrible people get what they deserve (probably why I like persona 5 so much, tbh). And if I had half as much creative genius as the writers on this site, I'd do it myself.
But just imagine...
The Thieves reign for, like, two years
Bcause cops can't catch em, Shido ain't gonna get promoted for a while (or decides to lay low a bit for whatever reason), and Akechi hasn't made the connection yet.
Or, after their first 2 Paris Palaces, they go on like in Canon with Parisian teammates, and the Palace they do before Sae's is Hawkmoth, with Akechi joining them because "this can't take long- Hawkmoth needs to be brought down ASAP and we should be strong enough now"
Poor Akechi's like "????? THE PARIS TERRORIST???? HOW THE HELL-"
"Later, Akechi, but your Almighty attacks are gonna help a lot while we figure out the Shadow's weaknesses"
Then it's Sae's Palace and things go as in canon
Anyway, the Thieves meet The Class on the Hawaii trip
Sees how this sweet, kind, compassionate girl's treated by people around her
They're furious
It brings up horrible memories of their own pasts and beginnings
So they form/join the Mari Protection Squad (MPS for short)
And it's ridiculous how fast the group bonds, and how fast The Class realizes not to mess with Mari with the Thieves (and Shujin kids in general) around
The other high schoolers join cuz with the crap from Kamoshida, they've all grown a backbone
Plus the Thieves are on their side here (now all they gotta do is send a request on the Phan-site... Maybe the Thieves can do something about the Parisian)
(Tikki feels the Thieves' power- and is wary. She'd never felt something like this before- humans wielding the power of their other selves so efficiently)
And Lila, feeling the spotlight slip, makes one grave error...
Showing her true colors to the leader of the Phantom Thieves
But the Thieves know going international isn't something they wanna do- it'll cause a ton of trouble
But when Mari video calls one night and shows the Nav- they realize
Either they take action, or Mari's gonna be sucked into the Metaverse randomly (like Kasumi)
Better take her with them and explain in a controlled setting than get her killed in someone's heart
And, surprise surprise, Lila has a Palace
Like, the distortion is on par with Shido's (which the Thieves will encounter eventually)
Any place she'd been before was part of her cognitive empire
When'd she visit Japan???
And Futaba digs up some major dirt on Lila
Driving victims (who's situations eerily match Mari's) to suicide, forcing victims from the county on major charges, assault, thievery, arson- you name it she's either done it or made everyone believe her victim did
Why hadn't anyone pulled the truth from her yet? The short answer- Yaldaboath
The oversized cup finds her acts entertaining
So they gotta take her treasure now
And Mari, newly realizing she deserves better and beginning to increase her self-esteem, awakens to a Persona
(I dunno who, but having a character have Filibus as a Persona sounds kinda cool)
So she joins the Thieves in Mementos to train and get stronger
And once the Thieves take Rossi's heart, their popularity skyrockets, so they go deeper and deeper into Mementos
Because now, it's like, "Oh shite, these Japanese urban legends targeted a minor are they working with Hawkmoth??"
Cuz when Lila confesses, you bet your sweet bippy there's gonna be a Hero's Day pt 2
And the Thieves come with help from Kaalki because Chat hasn't been a partner in years and Ladybug alone with Kobra can't take them on
Morgana tails Catalyst (Akumatized Natalie) to the Agreste Manor and finds out Hawkmoth's identity
But Adrien catches him
So we get Spy!Morgana, stuck with the Agrestes until the change of heart at the latest
And Mona slips into Gabriel's Palace to scope it out and
Holy hecc, those are tough Shadows (think like in Maruki's Palace) and why is this woman everywhere???
It's a Roman temple, with statues of the same woman everywhere
Like why
And the puzzles are so confusing he can't explore the whole thing
And he eventually makes it back to the Thieves- specifically Mari who freaks when he randomly shows up
Cuz everyone's been looking high and low
And the news he brings isn't happy at all
So their next target can't be Hawkmoth, but they set it as their goal (their second-to-last heist)
In the meantime, Caline Bustier's Palace needs raiding
This woman Shouldn't Be In Charge™, Period.
Her Palace is at the school, and it looks like her definition of 'paradise'- a garden maze
Her childhood friends, co-workers, students- everyone's chilling and getting along
At least while her Shadow is watching
Wherever she isn't, the cognitive beings are at war
It's bright with rainbows and glitter, and it's nauseously obvious Bustier chooses to ignore the world around her to keep the illusion alive
The kicker is, when the Thieves first enter, they see a giant 'painting', constantly shifting and moving to match what happens in the Palace
It's sickening- her poor students
Her Shadow doesn't put up a fight, instead expressing how 'dissappointed' she is in them, how the Thieves need to 'set an example', how they're 'disrupting everyone with this silly rebellion'
They waste no time in taking her Treasure
Adrien's Palace is Agreste Manor as a prison decorated as a mansion
A maze where Shadow Adrien constantly attempts escape, so there's thousands of secret passegeways, rooms, and supplies
The windows, when looked through, show what he thinks the world is like- no war, starvation, illness, sadness.
But, when broken, they show the truth in a million fragments, only to be repaired the next time Adrien's Shadow passes by them
It's a good way to keep tabs on the Shadow
A black blur, who talks and interacts with the world at a minimum, joins the Thieves, explaining what some of the more hidden images mean
At this point, the Thieves know who Ladybug and Chat Noir are, and they're doing all they can to help
Then Okumera happens and Haru joins the group
It's bittersweet, but Haru's more than determined enough to continue being a Thief
Things go on in canon until the time the Thieves would have been in Sae's Palace
She's still a target, but they have a much more pressing deadline
Hawkmoth's been upping the stakes, the difficulty, and the number of Akuma. Paris is in real danger, and they need to stop him
Plus, it'd be hard to pin it all on him without a confession, because Gabriel is an international business
(possible Akechi redemption, as he changes sides after spending longer with the Thieves and seeing the good they can do first-hand)
Might make more later, depending on how this does
