Being told Daniel Ways Deadpool is just a crazy™ idiot from a looney tunes show just to read it (for a third time, now as an adult, after seeing something past the first two issues) and see that while YES, Wade is crazy™ in the book, to the point of just randomly having halucinations and a second voice (whitch both still kinda piss me off, because while NOW it's supposed to be Madcap, back then it was just kinda offensive), he was also a pretty fucking smart individual, to the point of tricking everyone on a bunch of occasions, that whole scene of him alone on a boat after killing a shark, his sometimes dark and kinda depressing inner thoughts, it was just kinda a shock.

And while Wades jokes don't always land for me, the book actualy got me to laugh a bunch of times, while the portrayl of mental illness outside of depression is out-dated and offensive, at least he wasn't JUST a crazy idiot, and Medinas art for Wade is so good imo.

(Also the Bullseye arc was so fucking fun, with the look into Wades backstory, the more and more cartoonish violence, the art, the jokes, the pay-off at the end of the story too)

do we think that the white box is something inherently offensive? because i mean - i write wade with the white box. it's not related to madcap - it's something that's part of him - but i don't think it's anything that isn't just, part of any human – the voice of self-doubt that makes you question your worth. the intrusive voice in your head that makes you fall into destructive habits – i think it's something very real (for everyone) but it just manifests in different, more extreme ways for someone who's been through as much as wade wilson. (that's why peter has red, too. peter has his own boxes of self-doubt.)

i think there's a lot to enjoy about way's run. i love the boxes, and i think they're something that sets wade as a character that's kind of unique. yeah, it wasn't exactly handled in the most sensitive way in regards to proper representation of mental illness, but – i think it's a huge loss that it was erased. because wade could be such an interesting, unique representation that you don't normally see taken in a sympathetic and likeable light. you always see these sorts of disorders as something terrifying - something only in horrors and tragedies - you don't see it manifested in the characters you're meant to root for. the characters who are striving to do better.

i think white box was such an interesting device that gave deadpool a unique voice - gave us an in into his head - kept an entertaining dialogue going with wade even when there were no other characters present - and gave us opportunities for comedy in unexpected places. and i honestly kind of feel like it's some sort of erasure to get rid of those boxes, and make wade just like every other marvel character. i think a writer who's sensitive and creative could do something so, so interesting with those boxes.

the dress, the bracelet, the sharing his story & his nation, the 'then i'll stay, i'd love to see your kingdom', the longing caress of the goddamn seashell, the fact that he paid attention to her and said her words back to her, the 'it could've been different' and probably more romance tropes im missing

ofc we can argue that that's just him manipulating her into being agreeable bcs an agreeable hostage is every kidnapper's dream (i have a wholeass fic planned around this singular concept okay) but the! romance!! tropes!!! are!!!! there!!!!!

the friend i dragged to the movie this morning also said they had some things going on for them, which makes my brain went huh mb it isn't just us, mb they're really testing this Shuri x Namor thing (oh the joy of going to movies with friends!!)

i don't think Marvel will make their romantic entanglement official or v explicit (as in it'll probably be mentioned in passing or alluded to)... it's one thing to vibe and ship them in fandom space. it's another to match a young, powerful, clever woman with the dude who laid waste to her home and murdered her mother in mainstream media.

im all for ignoring the antis but i also gotta be real here and recognize the amount of discourse that WILL go down if they're canon. i periodically get h8 mails & spiteful notes & tags on my posts and i don't want that for the cast and crew.

as much as i h8 marvel for mischaracterizing stucky & soft-retconning their story+traits, i also h8 how lot of stucky fandom mischaracterize too. why tf is "Cap/'Modern' Bucky" such a popular thing? as if there isn't a 92839 reasons why Steve wouldn't've become Cap is it weren't for Bucky, how does Steve somehow end up mostly the same while Bucky gets all of his canon characterization taken away and turned into gay!SebStan in a jacket? like that's not even stucky anymore it's ChrisEvansxReader

As a fan of the comic ver of Wanda i do h8 how the MCU wrote her..they did her dirty from the start. But at least we did get an actual magical girl in Moonknight in Laya! and a middle easten one to boot... I just wish we did not just get to see her in action in the end of the show

To be frank, I haven't been keeping up with Marvel lately. They've become a hollow shell of cameos and fake theories, surviving only on the hype and money they get from their ensembles; there's absolutely no passion, and nothing seems authentic anymore.

Hell, Kevin Feige has admitted that Phase 5 is running without a semblance of a plan, just like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It's utter garbage.

And I know nothing about Moon Knight, but my brain literally travels to Moonlight Knight from Sailor Moon R every single time I hear about him.

Because obviously, the Magical Girl genre is a gajillion times more interesting than the current state of the Superhero genre, and that's the hill I will die on.

This personal animated movie is truly a marvellous piece of work, though only 1.5 minutes long, it manages to tell a complete story about a tailor helping a bride in an arranged marriage, a theme that has a deep background and meaning in traditional Chinese culture. The short film does a fantastic job of conveying the emotion and depth of the story. I particularly appreciated the colour palette, line art and storyline, which enhanced the emotional expression of the piece and created an atmosphere for the viewer in keeping with the subject, making it a piece of great integrity. Its overall emotion and atmosphere are unforgettable, and its mood board gave me a lot to learn from.

This story is set in the difficult living environment of China, so the colour palette of green and yellow was chosen, a colour choice that very aptly presents the traditional Chinese atmosphere. This colour scheme also reminds me of another suspenseful drama puzzle game, Three Volt, which also uses green as its main colour scheme, and its visual style is also very suitable to be used in my animation. In fact, I've tried to apply this green tone to my animation to better express the story's emotion and create a specific atmosphere. This light and colourful colour palette is suitable for the pleasant and relaxing atmosphere that I want to convey in the market scene in front of my animation.

I plan to use lighter and brighter colours in the first half of the animation to create a pleasant and lively atmosphere. This colour choice will also echo the emotional needs of my market scene in my animation and provide a pleasant visual experience for the viewer. However, in the second half of the animation, I will draw on the darker tones from the game to create a more eerie, tense atmosphere.

This work is not only a short film but also an inspiration for me to explore more possibilities about colour and emotional expression in my animation production.
