Say hi to Marziclast, the Ginger Dough Pokémon!
It’s a pure Rock type who- doesn’t do much…
Its name comes from the words “marzipan” and “clast”, i chose marzipan instead of gingerbread because in italy we use the two terms interchangeably even though they’re very different things and i thought this naming mistake would kinda fit a Pokémon idk
For this design i got inspired by something that’s REALLY out there for Pokémon standards, can anyone guess what it is? 🫣

Me: "Yaaaay it's Horizons anniversary soon!!"
Others: "It's been a year since Satoshi's journey ended"
I... I didn't even think about that |D
Guess I was that ready to just let him leave the story.
Considering that none of the original series staff stayed in the writing team, they were too.
Since it's soon been a year and we're reaching the end of act 2, I can confidently say this is like, my favourite Pokémon series. Alongside Sun & Moon. And both are favs for wholely different reasons, as in, love Sun & Moon for tackling mature topics and for having wonderful humor, alongside good world building and nice focus on family theme. While Horizons I love the story focus shift from normal, cast that is super enjoyable and a take on a found family type of group, new original villains that I've come to like a lot, etc etc.
I love how different both shows are. I love how both dare to try new things out in different way. Liko is one of THE most relatable characters to me, and I love the whole entire cast to bits. I even adore the Explorers, esp. Sango is slowly making a hole in my heart that wants me to call myself a fan of hers. Yes. She's been that enjoyable to me. Even Amethio's grown on me immensely, I like how his character works, and excited to see his role this upcoming ep.
At the start Roy felt a tad bit too alike to Satoshi, and at times I can see that similar type of "forget about a skill and then do the skill" writing from Satoshi era is thrown on him, but he's still mostly his own character. But that is probably why I'm more drawn to the likes of Liko, Dot, Friede, Amethio and Sango, because their fighting styles are so refreshing for me. I even like how Onyx and Sango pairing works, with Onyx fitting Sango's oni-speaking pattern (srsly wtf that must have been intended and now I want to know if dub has ANYTHING to match this speaking pattern with.)
There's been clear growth, clear character progression, much much slower team progress than whatever the fuck JN did (not jabbing at anyone who likes JN but I won't deny that I really hate how fucking fast most Pokémon evolved there. It seems Horizons knows not to rush things).
Act 1 suffered from pacing issue where stuff happens in one episode and then the next ep sort of shrugs it off and continues the plot in a really weird tone-shift, but I don't think act 2 had that, which I liked. But act 2 also had more fill-ins compared to the action-packed act 1. But imo, it was good to have a more slower, calming pace for a while. It helped build on the characters more, and show how the Rising Volt Tacklers exactly live like. Which makes the Brave Asagi breaking in recent episode ever so more heartbreaking aaaaaaaaah-
I'm also kinda glad I was wrong on the "only a one year long series", because so far I'm quite attached to the cast and definitely wouldn't have felt happy to see them go yet. So knowing that Horizons seems to follow the usual 3 year pace (maybe 2, maybe 4, who knows) makes me happy. And I totally look forward to act 3 that is definitely caused by the Brave Asagi needing long, long time for repairs.
So um yeh. This was a weird ramble lol. But like, love Horizons, don't exactly miss old show as I felt it told whatever it wanted to and had the danger of just, butchering characters further from what I enjoyed it for. Sometimes it's better to let go. Fanfics and fanarts will still exists for a long long time, I'm sure. But my enjoyment on Horizons has definitely caused me to not miss the old days at all. And I'm glad.
(Do I want Satoshi to return? Honestly? No. 26 years is long enough for me.)

PokéTWST Timelapse
This shows the inking and and coloring process for this piece, and holy crap did I have a serious tug of war with this one. In the end, I decided to go with something inspired by the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games and their art. Almost story book in a way, which I felt fit the subject.
Lots of people guessed right that Snorlax was one of Silver's Pokémon! We also have Gallade, Musharna, and Aegislash, making this the largest Pokémon team in this series yet! Aegislash was a tough choice bc I was considering giving it to Malleus instead, but my theories about Silver eventually led to me assigning it to him instead.
And turns out, my theories were right! I literally manifested my Ch 7 theories with this piece. Mind you, I was working on this for literal months before I decided to call it done, so at the time I sketched this out, I was kinda reaching, but now it all worked out!
I will go more in depth into this team's dynamic next Monday when I show the actual piece, so look forward to that! Also the next PokéTWST is already done too, so look out for that too!

QSMP X POKÉMON
(Part 3)
So, I guess I'm coping with my obsessions making this kinda post so here I am again.
q!Fit !
Tumblr media
Because...
Krookodile: I like to imagine that this one he got from 2b2t. He got him when he as just a sandile and now he's a good big boy. Also the colors match.
Blastoise: This one is obvious because of the canons, and fit has a canon and all. Like to imagine that he met him when he was a Wartortle and the pokémon got so excited when he heard about the evolution that he evolved, just like that.
Metagross: Another big boy that I think matches with Fit. Just resemble like some serious and rigid pokemon, but when you get to know him he's sweet and funny. (Also like to think about him mega evolving).
Sirfetch'd: Fit teaches him how to fight and it shows how to fight with honor and how he can get stronger when they fight for the people they love (both of them learn that). Also, shield.
Roserade: This one is a little hideduo reference. I like to imagine that Pac gave him an egg as a gift (maybe when the eggs where missing, just to help Fit deal with everything) and when it hatched it was a budew! This Roserade would be really caring with Pac. Because Pac would always ask about it and care about it.
Electrode: He explodes. Like, just, BOOM. That's it. I think he would totally love exploding things with Ramon. I think they would also try to find a way to it explode without fainting.

I was suddenly intensely compelled to draw Simon as a Pokémon trainer so this exists now d(•w• ).
I initially was going to make him a Dark type trainer since Dark is super effective against Ghost and most of what he hunts would fall under that I guess, also a lot of his designs have some similar color schemes as other Dark type things, BUT I realized that, surprisingly, Ghost actually fits wayyyyyy better. Ghost is also super effective against Ghost (I have always found this funny lol) and has both more Pokémon that make sense character wise as well as moves like “Curse”. Mimikyu’s whole thing is that it looks up to and wants to be just as adored as Pikachu and idk I think Simon would kinda vibe with that a lot. Also the whole Litwick line and like ya know Castlevania games and their candles, the chandeliers, it just fits. Simon’s Quest also has the Mysterious Woman who appears with the mist in a graveyard and may or may not be a ghost who helps Simon so that tracks too. He also just seems like he’d spend a lot of time hangin around in a cemetery idk how to explain that.
His design is mostly just an altered Simon’s Quest outfit, but I added elements of his other designs to it like bits of red in his hair, the cape from the manual drawings (and the smash bros teaser I guess lol), the fur and boots from Ayami’s design, a ripped skirt thing like the smash bros design (I’m sure other designs have had something similar too I just can’t think about which rn), the armband thingys and the headband from his NES cover and X68000 designs, etc etc. I imagine that he’d probably have the cape down most of the time and come off as a more brown focused design (I didn’t color them all the way cause I didn’t wanna get all my colored pencils out oof) and say things that kinda mislead the player into thinking he’s maybe a Fighting type trainer or something. Then when actually battling him he pushes the cape back and oh wow big reveal!
Yeah idk, this was fun tho. Maybe I’ll draw some other Belmonts as trainers too eventually, I have some ideas already hmmm. Also it is so so hard to remember what I have and have not posted here, especially since I know I’ve posted this elsewhere so I keep feeling like I’ve already written all of this before 。(゚´ω`゚)゚。. So if I’ve already posted something please tell me, my memory sucks most of the time and I’d greatly appreciate that!

TXT as Creepypasta Stories
Tumblr media
a/n: okay so i was a little nervous to post this however i am in a spooky mood and i just wanted to put out something a little silly and fun. i grew up on creepypastas so i wanted to put this out :) i really hope none of you find this post weird LMAO warnings- this is HORROR so subjects of death, bullying, etc is present in this post. i tried to censor it as much as i could and i added my little comments in this as best as i could to make them more lighthearted
MASTERLIST wc- probably like 250-300
Tumblr media
soobin- lavender town
lavender town syndrome was derived from the first pokémon game. the bgm of the town in the game had frequencies that led to kids yaknow dying. later on nintendo lowered the frequencies so kids stopped dying‼️
this one was a classic and soobin loves pokémon so i really thought it fit him :)

Tumblr media
yeonjun- ticci toby
ticci toby’s story is about this kid who’s like extremely bullied and it’s kinda fucked up that the creator named him ticci toby because i’m 90% sure he has tourettes in the story. but that’s besides the point. he ends up like getting rid of his dad and runs in the woods, then gets adopted into the slenderman mansion ⁉️ that’s if i’m remembering correctly LMAO im relistening to the story rn, i forgot how well it was written
I HONESTLY JUST GAVE HIM TICCI TOBY BC I USED TO HAVE A CRUSH ON TOBY WHEN I WAS LIKE 11 now im older than ticci toby and i feel ancient.

Tumblr media
taehyun- jeff the killer
okay gonna be fr, the only reason why i remember his story so well is because of laurenzsides sims 4 rendition of the creepypasta. jeff was this kid who had a really hot brother(sorry(I AM LIU’S AGE NOW THIS IS A WIN)) and two parents. from what i remember everything was chill w his parents and brother but he was just bullied. and then at a birthday party he got lit on fire??? and bleached??? then he kills everyone. OH MY GOD THE KIDS LIKE BULLIED HIM⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️ I DO NOT REMEMBER THIS AT ALL⁉️⁉️⁉️ oh his parents were nice :( this is so sad
i thought giving taehyun a classic was good for him. jeff the killer is like THE creepypasta just like kang taehyun is THE hot guy 😇
link to the laurenzside sims 4 creepypasta video lol
Tumblr media
beomgyu- russian sleep experiment
the russian sleep experiment was, you guessed it, an experiment. from what i remember the experiment was conducted during a war to test endurance. the prisoners from said war were told they would be set free if they followed through with the experiment. the prisoners were locked in a room and the scientists leaked this gas in the room to keep the prisoners from sleeping, without having sleep the prisoners go insane and start to kill eachother
the russian sleep experiment is honestly my favorite creepypasta. i read it a few years ago and then shane and ryan read it on are you scared and i was hooked. i feel like beomgyu would really like it.
link to the watcher video explaining the russian sleep experiment
Tumblr media
hueningkai- ben drowned
basically this guy, finds a bootleg majoras mask game and starts getting haunted by this kid named ben who once again you guessed it! drowned! okay apparently there was a cult i don’t remember that at all if i’m being fr.
I LOVE ANYTHING LOZ AND IDK I THINK THAT IT FITS HIM‼️

What are your ideas on the differences between a human and a demon, I've seen many many many many differing interpretations and I wanna collect them all like Pokémon cards
I have a couple thoughts on this actually!!!!
So first off the big ones, physically there's a bunch of differences between humans and demons, and even between demons themselves!
To me, humans generally follow like IRL rules and shit like that, but theres additional things that kinda come with minecraft mechanics. Obviously theres respawn, but i personally attribute that to some kind of supernatural occurrences or very specific circumstances. In the case of the QSMP there's cannon vs non-cannon/in-universe deaths, but i also like to keep the Federation in mind - they obviously have some sort of hand in the life cycle on quesadilla island, with the eggs having two lives and whatnot, and being able to briefly bring them back to speak with their parents before being sent off to the afterlife. I personally think humans have IRL mechanics, but organizations like the Federation or even sometimes standalone experimental organizations can have a hand in trying to affect the human life cycle.
We have god-like beings, angels and ferrymen of death and whatnot, and i cant help but remember the Hunger Games lore where more than one life wasnt given which is cannon to the QSMP. I also like to consider the DSMP, which is semi-cannon, where they had multiple "cannon" lives (as opposed to the QSMP where they have one "cannon" life from what we've seen) and Ghosts and resurrections and all that, human life from what ive seen is not only fragile but flexible! Can be broken but also can be bent!
I got a little side tracked but point is: humans - one life (unless interfered with) Demons - not one life! (Bad follows a death/rebirth cycle/We dont know how mouse and tina operate/etc.)
Other physicalities I consider is humans are generally pretty realistically sturdy, they easily lose limbs but can wear prosthetics, and with the help of magic they can be immune to certain things (Still organizing my thoughts on Fit's recent lore - might think abt that more later).
Demons are not only sturdier (Bad/Mouse/tina/dapper/pomme/emmie having generally neutral reactions to radiation, obviously bad and dapper arent doing the best but theyre fairing MUCH better than a human would in their condition) but i like to imagine they can shape shift a little? we know the eggs generally like to hc bad as a shapeshifter that can get bigger/smaller, but he has consistent features he cant really get rid of as far as we've seen like his horns and tail. When i draw him, i generally vary his horn shape/length and change his body type and height a little in every drawing on purpose, but also i like extending this to the other demons! Mouse and Tina obviously look more human, but like cc!tina has talked about how she likes q!tina to have huge fucking knockers and i like to imagine they can change that themselves, it just makes sense to me! There are limitations to it, in my mind the horns are a consistent and identifying feature on them that they cant really change without a TON of practice. But the rules are bendy, ykwim? they can be more or less animalistic, swap physically gendered traits, shift from nails to claws, etc.
As far as cannon things go, we know demons generally have a better nose and all smell like sulfur, humans smell different to them, probably like BO or something lol
Thinking magic wise, humans obviously dont experience a ton of it, but magic is everywhere! In the air, on your skin, and thats to say i just think its funny to imagine that demons can be summoned by saying their name 5 times kjbhvjbn
Culturally, demons are definitely a lot different not only from humans but from one another and i think thats entirely based on their upbringing! I could write a lot about that, but the first thing off the top of my head is like their clothing i guess? We see from mouse and bad's clothing they tend to wear pretty gear-like clothing, i guess is how you could describe it? I like to imagine belts and buckles are something theyre used to wearing, maybe for aesthetic reasons, maybe for mechanical reasons! Maybe in hell you gotta carry a lotta small shit, or rock climbing is a popular activity, who knows!
Demon culture as well to me includes horn pride, ykwim? They care for and polish their horns, paint them for celebrations and decorate them with jewelry! Theres popular standard colors like black and white but choosing something more extravagant is common! Like matching your hair color if you have it dyed a fun color, staining it, painting it patterned for birthdays or holidays. Maybe its like homestuck purpleblood facepaint rules, where showing your bare horns is something you do with special people you trust a lot? Thats something very cute to me.
Also! Mentioned this in another post! i like the idea of Pool noodle jail!! Putting pool noodles on the horns of baby demons who cant stop headbutting eachother! thats adorable to me!!

Warden Ingo Cosplay Build Log
Hey Legends Arceus / Submas / Pokémon fans ! I spent two months last year making a Warden Ingo costume because the game made me fall in love with the franchise all over again (and because I love sad amnesia uncle, of course). I'm pretty proud of it, so I thought it'd be fun to share the process here in painstaking details. I've been cosplaying for over a decade now and I learned a bunch from so many defunct cosplay tutorials on this website, so I thought I'd give back. This isn't a guide, persay, but rather a dive into the methods and decisions I picked to complete this project. Any pre-made items or patterns that are available online will be linked! I'll be splitting down each piece of the costume into its own section for easier reading. This is gonna be a long one with a bunch of pictures, so I'd suggest viewing on the blog directly! Without further ado, all aboard!
Station 0: The Guidelines
Before getting into the build itself, I wanted to preface this wall of text with the guidelines I set myself for this project. These core pillars inform a lot of the decision-making, and some people might feel like using this log as reference for their own cosplays, so I thought it'd be good to put them here to explain why I did some stuff the way I did. Comfort first: I knew I was gonna wear it in the summer, and stand around all day at a convention, so it needed to be lightweight and comfortable. (well, as much as a cosplay can be, anyways.) Realism: Ok, that's kinda weird to associate "realism" to a Pokémon costume (unless you're Detective Pikachu I guess), but I wanted to look more natural instead of translating a shiny fancy 3D model straight to real life (nothing against that, it just wasn't my goal). This meant adapting certain elements that only really worked in stylized Pokémon graphics. Be a huge cheapskate: I didn't wanna break the bank with this one, so if I could save money thrifting or reusing stuff I had lying around, I was going to do it. Whenever you see me pull some material out of my ass that wasn't entirely fit for the job, that's why. After putting these down, jotted down a battle plan for the project (basically just a huge compartmentalized list of all the material I expected to need and the steps to complete the costume), and then it was time to get to work.
Station 1: Thrift Shop Pit Stop
Tumblr media
I like starting every project with a quick trip to the local thrift stores to see what I can find. I hate sewing pants with a passion, so my priority was to grab some navy suit pants to match the coat's fabric to later. I also found a long sleeve black shirt for Ingo's undershirt, a belt I ended up not using, and lucked out with some excellent clown shoes with removeable insoles. After slapping in my own insoles, replacing the shoelaces and fixing up the pants' button, we were good to go on every element that could be done without any extra work on my end. Moving on.
Station 2: Three Refined Metals For A Hat
I'll be honest here: when I initially planned out the entire project in my notebook, the hat was scary as hell. I had no clear idea how I was going to do it; I didn't really want to buy a similar pre-made hat cause roughing it up would've been stupid hard to get to look right. I figured I could probably make it out of EVA Foam (a certified cosplay classic), but I've never patterned a shape this complex before. Turns out Kamui Cosplay made a foam pattern for the same kinda hat. Score! I purchased the pattern and assembled the hat using 6mm EVA Foam and Contact Cement according to the instructions. I then destroyed some poor polyester cord trim from the bottom of my scrap bin and glued it into the base for the... sticky-outies? The damaged bits. Y'know.
Tumblr media
With the base finished, I drafted a pattern for the fabric covering, cut my pieces out of navy twill, sewed it up and slid it over the hat. I did the same for the inside with some cheap black muslin leftovers from another project, glued it all to the base in strategic spots, and then patterned, sewed and glued the band on. Finally, I took my seam ripper and scissors and opened up the seams where the little piles of sad polyester scraps were lining up to free them. With the main part of the hat complete, I cut up a disc of 10mm EVA foam for the insignia, scored the design on with a hobby knife and heated it up to form a bit of a curve. It was then sealed with flexbond, painted and sealed with a clear coat, and glued on! All that was left after this was weathering the hat. It's a little hard to photograph this piece properly, so I'll show the weathering process when we get to the coat.
Tumblr media
I apologize for basically pulling a "rest of the fucking owl" here, but honestly a lot of the process was improvising and somehow not destroying the entirety of my progress, so I have no pictures of the hat building process beyond this.
Station 3: Sneasels Ripped My Coat
Ingo's coat started with a heavily modified version of a commercial pattern. Specifically, it's the D Coat from Simplicity's 4789. I could've probably found a pattern closer to the Subway Bosses' coat design, but this one had already been in my pile of "patterns I bought for an abandonned project and will totally use someday, I swear" and it was close enough, so I used it. Modifications included extending the collar, making the coat a little longer in proportion to my body, the sleeves wider at the ends, and adding inner pockets (a cosplayer's best friend). Oh, and the white bias tape on the edges and the orange stripes, of course. You may have noticed I'm not showing the pattern with all the modifications here. That's because as part of the Cheapskate Protocol, I really wanted to use this old Simplicity pattern to save money. A pattern I bought when I was a teen way back when. the misses sized pattern enveloppe. So I had to size up the entire damn thing. The biggest size on this pattern was like 7 inches off my measurements. It's a paper Frankenstein golem. It looks godawful. The actual adjustments to make the pattern Submas-ready are incomprehensible in there. But hey, I saved like 10 dollars! I started by assembling the base coat (undamaged) out of navy twill. I added heavy interfacing in the collar to help it stay up. I considered adding a lining to it to really sell the fact this used to be a modern machine-assembled piece of clothing, but it wouldn't have looked as good with the rips and tears later on. As a bonus, it's one layer less in the fight against heat exhaustion! However, if I were to make this coat for Pre-Eeby-Deebied Ingo, I'd definitively do a lining.
Tumblr media
Next step was the stripes! I used some double fold white bias tape to finish the edges of the coat and topstitched the ones on the back of the coat on. I then used the same orange cotton as the hat band for the three orange stripes, which were topstitched on. Cheapskate Protocol made me buy barely enough orange cotton this time around because I was tired of building up the pile in the fabric scrap bin, so I had to improvise to make it work by snipping the bands in strategic spots in order to cover to whole coat properly. It's not like the parts that would be cut off later for the damage would need them, anyways. ✨Optimization✨
Tumblr media
After rolling my rock up the hill of a Hell of my own creation, I booted up the game, dragged my avatar to the Ingo enclosure and marveled at the magnificent creature to see where the coat was ripped. I traced a loose guide of the tear designs with washable fabric chalk and crudely cut up the bottom edge, sleeves and collar to have the basic shape down.
Tumblr media
All that was left was to add the armband and the buttons. Turns out the only metal buttonsI could find that were big enough were those buttons kits to cover with fabric. Since I wanted to go for realism here (and be able to throw the whole thing in the wash after sweating in it all day), I wanted to avoid crafting them myself. With the main construction done, it was time to do the weathering! ... ... ... OH GOD I FORGOT TO ADD POCKETS
Tumblr media
Behold, the world's most awful pockets. Two stupid little bags sewn in such a way you hopefully can't tell from the outside that I completely forgot that I wanted these. They literally only exist so I can have my phone handy at a convention. There's a buttonhole to close it too, I guess. They're shamefully hidden with all my lining-less, raw seam sins. Ok now we can destroy the coat
Station 4: Stinky And Dirty
I mentionned earlier during the hat section that I was going to get back to the weathering process. This is happening now. For the sake of Realism™️, I wanted the damage to look natural in real life, so I had to make it look believable. Luckily this wasn't my first rodeo with the Dirt, so I had plenty of weathering experience under my belt. To break up the awkward scissor cuts from earlier on the edges and fray everything up, I pulled out the sandpaper and started... Sanding the fabric. Might sound weird to some, but a lot of costume makers swear by it. It's also great for ripped jeans (if those are still popular today) and general natural wear. I also refined the shape along the way with scissor to break up any long straight cuts before fraying the edges. I took care to reinforce any newly destroyed seams with a sneaky staystitch so it doesn't unravel in the future. I then mixed up a bunch of different shades of brownish grime with fabric paints (I had black, brown, yellow, orange and green on hand) to dirty the whole thing up. This doesn't look as realistic as some other methods like weathering powders and Just Using Real Dirt, but as mentionned earlier I wanted to be able to just throw it in the washing machine at the end of the day to sanitize it. (If you're interested in actually learning how to weather a costume, this guide is where I started my journey.) I prioritized the ripped edges and any spots where grime would realistically accumulate in over time, like under the edge of the hat band. Paint was dabbed, stippled and rubbed on with whatever garbage tools I could find, which in my case were some old crusty brushes, sponges and toothbrushes I could get really violent with. (brushes were harmed in the making of this costume, but not my good brushes.)
Tumblr media
The whole thing was then sealed with heat using a flat iron as per the fabric paint instructions. With the coat done, all of Ingo's old Subway Boss uniform was complete!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Station 5: A Warden's Garb
Next step on the list was making the Pearl Clan uniform. Thankfully, there's a fun little piece of concept art that shows Ingo without his signature coat, so from it we can confirm that his clan outfit has short sleeves (good for the comfort goal) and consists of two pieces: a tunic and some kind of hip sash. I omitted the hood on the tunic because I was realistically never going to wear it up and it would have just bunched up under the coat anyways. Now you'll be painfully aware of that terrible corner cutting truth whenever you scroll down and see photos of the costume. Sorry. I drafted out a quick pattern for both pieces of the clan garb through the power of math for the sash (a couple half circles with another piece for the border) and tracing over a tunic in my wardrobe for the shirt. I assembled a test version out of scrap muslin to make sure it worked properly, then set the pattern aside so I could prepare the fabric. In order to have all of the tunic elements match together, I picked up a bunch of white stretch knit fabric and a bottle of purple synthetic dye so I could reach the shade of dusty lavender I wanted. I measured out two squares of fabric based on the pattern. One square was for the darker border on the waist sash, while the rest was the lighter color for the whole outfit. I boiled water according to the dye instruction and worked on my Fabric Soup.
Tumblr media
With the fabric dyed and washed, I cut my pattern pieces out and assembled everything together. Nothing special happened there since the pattern had been tested and adjusted prior to sewing the real deal. Ok, one thing happened actually. My sewing machine absolutely hated how thin this fabric was and kept trying to eat my costume. By the end I was about ready to throw the machine out the window, but things worked out.
Tumblr media
It's pretty sneaky and totally not visible on the outside, but the sash is held closed with two snap buttons on the front. It's easily the single jankiest piece of the costume due to the aforementioned attempt by my sewing machine to have fabric dinner. But hey, it works and the jank isn't visible so who caaaares (I care)
Tumblr media
Final step for the Pearl Clan outfit was adding the logo on the front. I wasn't sure how I wanted to do this, at first, but to keep the fabric's stretch and keep with the idea that this is a hand-sewn garment from old Hisui, I decided to go with hand embroidery. I grabbed some scrap white cotton, dyed it purple, then cut it out in the shape of the logo. It was then painstakingly applique'd to the tunic by hand with embroidery floss.
Tumblr media
With that done, the tunic was completed! It looks absolutely depressing on a coat hanger, but when worn with a belt it's all nice and cozy. As a bonus, it layers with the coat well enough that I don't have to wear a binder under everything to hide obvious boob shapes. Another win for the Comfort team! 👏 With all the sewing done, all that's left is the Warden bracelet and the hair.
Tumblr media
Station 6: Noble Sneasler's Cool Bling
Ingo's got a bestie bracelet of his best pal Sneasler, so we gotta make that. The build should be pretty standard to anyone that's made anything out of EVA Foam for a cosplay. I drafted the pieces by referencing the in-game model, cut them out of different thicknesses of the material to create some depth, and glued everything together with contact cement and hot glue. (The main bracelet is 6mm foam, the details are 2mm foam and the black parts for the base of the head and the gem are 4mm foam.) I added an elastic on the wrist to keep the bangle secured to my arm while still being able to easily slip it on and off.
Tumblr media
The whole thing was then sealed with flexbond, painted and then sealed with a spray clear coat. Honestly, it was the simplest part of the build and it actually went without a hitch this time around.
Tumblr media
With the accessories done, it was now time to get to what I am convinced is every Submas cosplayer's worst nightmare: The Goddamn Hair.
Station 7: The Goddamn Hair
There's a lot of artists credited as character designers in the credits of Pokémon Black & White (2010). This means I can't figure out who to blame for Ingo and Emmet's stupid sideburns that make absolutely no sense in the real world. Instead we're just going to scream at the heavens and find a solution to the geometric flaps. Another fun fact: I'm awful at wigs. Like absolutely awful. I understand the methods involved, but I'm stupid bad at applying that knowledge on an expensive mop of plastic hair I don't want to ruin. So I did some research to figure out how people were making the twins' hair on their own cosplay. Everyone did a great job, but it wasn't really the effect I was looking for, so I decided to start from scratch. Because, you see, I was going to completely avoid styling a wig. I've always interpreted the art as them having some sick sideburns/muttonchops. (This art piece by waltias on twitter was posted like a week after I finished my cosplay and I felt so so validated in my interpretation) I also love Makeup FXs, so I thought "hey, I can look up beard makeup tutorials." I ended up with two ideas: either I could buy crepe wool hair in grey and glue the fibers to my face individually every time I put the costume on, or I could make a reuseable prosthetic. I'm a lazy piece of garbage that likes doing things once so prosthetic it was. I mean, I know how to ventilate wig lace. It'll be reusable and take 4 minutes to apply. Smart! I got the Jett in Light Grey from Arda Wigs, a ventilating hook, matching wefts and the lace. I had a plan, I was ready, it was going to look great. And then I spent 40 hours tying individual strands of plastic hair on a wig lace mesh. For a total surface area of maybe 3 square inch.
(Pictured above: A Fool.) It was hell. I might've incurred a stress injury from the process and then had to let it rest for a week because I did it all over a couple days. Would I recommend doing it? If you're patient, sure. I love the result. But this was, by far, the worst part of the entire project. 40 hours. The entire coat took me like 6 hours. 40 fucking hours.
Tumblr media
After painstakingly tying individual hairs to a mesh and realizing I might've reached the Ninth Circle of Hell along the way, I took my couple squares of ventilated wefts and trimmed them to the proper length. The result was awesome, and I don't regret it at all. It looks exactly how I pictured the idea of sideburns would look like. But it also took 40 hours of me just tying some fucking hair to a mesh. Maybe there was a better solution, but there's so little ressources about the process online that I just went with the methods I could find, really. I pray someone starts offering squares of pre-ventilated wig lace someday so no one else has to suffer like I did. As a sidenote, I didn't even bother with the balding hair since I wasn't gonna go through all the effort of heavily modifying a wig and wearing a bald cap if I wasn't even gonna take the hat off.
Tumblr media
40 hours.
Station 8: Bits And Bobs From Under the Subway Bench
Honestly, after the absolute nightmare I went through making the sideburns and goatee, The final touches were a cakewalk. After all, the costume is complete! What's next? Warden Ingo uses Pokéballs like a cool guy, so I wanted one. I usually make pretty much everything myself for costumes because it's fun, but after the ventilating adventure I just wanted to rest. I'd been following NisuzCraft's work for a while now, and I loved the wood grain effect on their Hisuian Pokéballs. I wholeheartedly recommend them, their work is awesome.
Tumblr media
As a final touch, I grabbed some red cord I had lying around from a previous project to craft a little loop to hook my convention badge onto. I don't really like having the badge show up on photos, so it was a clean way to have it easily accessible while having it be easy to slide out of sight. I based the idea off of the knotted ropes the Galaxy Team member hang their Pokéballs from on their uniforms.
Tumblr media
Lastly, though it's not necessarily part of the costume itself, I made an overly indulgent ita bag panel for the first con I took Warden Ingo out to. The collection's grown since then, but here it is:
Tumblr media
Chandelure: JellyBearDesigns Ingo & Lady Sneasler: AstroTeenyArts Warden Ingo, Emmet&Ingo Duo: Cynniarts Ingo & Emmet with fingers crossed, Hanging Ingo, Emmet & Warden Ingo: Zhampip Rubber Straps: Official Pokémon Mate Merch Go show them some love!
Terminus: You Have Reached Hisui Station
So, first con wearing Warden Ingo came and went. What's the verdict? Pretty great experience, honestly. It was relatively comfortable to wear despite record heat in the middle of summer. The only real issue was that having a wig and a hat together trapped heat real bad, therefore some wig breaks were needed. I also initially used spirit gum to stick the facial hair on, and I struggled to remove the residue afterwards from the lace mesh, so now I just use body tape to keep it on. Nothing broke, nothing hurt, so I'd say it was a success! I haven't had to modify or repair anything for the future, so I'm very proud of the results. To anyone who read this Build Log to the very end, thank you so, so much for your interest. I hope this may have given you some insight into the process; especially if this helps your in future cosplay projects! If you don't cosplay, I hope it was still an entertaining read.
Tumblr media
Hoping to see more wonderful Submas cosplays in the future!

So I've been thinking about Pokémon. I do that a lot. My inner Zoobooks kid demands it. But recently I was rewatching some of the old anime for Reasons and realized the games exist in universe as some sorta goofy edutainment simulator. Made me start thinking about 'what if the games oversimplify pokémon biology like Odell's Lake and the like oversimplify real world biology' and uh. With all due gratitude to @bogleech (who does reviews for pokemon designs that I adore) and the nature YouTubers I consume daily.
I would like to yell at you about Bulbasaur a little, Tumblr.
Tumblr media
So imma get real nerdy real fast here. I love me some speculative extrapolation.
First off let's look at one of the official game designs real quick.
Tumblr media
Okay, so, a sauroid design--I know that seems obvious from the name but hold on here, I have a point.
So here we have a large quadrapedal exotherm with obvious green coloration. Not just dull green, bright green. Given the species line is famous for learning Solar Beam, an attack that necessitates gathering sunlight and transforming it into an attack, we can probably be safe in assuming a lot of that green is chlorophyll, making this a rare non-marine vertebrate capable of using chlorophyll to produce energy for itself. And, occasionally, to gather enough energy to tell predators to step off.
The bulb and the... well, the 'saur, appear to be a package deal, but the bulb is not only distinct from the main body, it may be the primary source of its Grass typing, with the Poison typing belonging to the sauroid hefting that bulb around. That kinda distinction leads me to believe the bulb doesn't naturally grow on the Bulbasaur, and may be the result of a parent or sufficiently trained human implanting the seed for the bulb in its back. Meaning the body can have a set of two genetic parents while the bulb can have genetics coming from any flowering plants of that species in whatever area they're born to.
I wonder if the sauroids without bulbs are capable of surviving on their own or if this was an adaptation out of necessity. Like how megafauna in our actual world died off when the ecosystem could no longer support their energy needs. Are the bulbs needed to get to their size, leaving unaided young smaller to survive without the energy boost? If they were smaller and had weaker skin without the Grass-type boosting, I can see them being analogous to venomous toads. If they're needed for survival, it implies strong social ties, possibly entire colonies or troops of their evolutionary line, in order to provide new 'Saurs with their bulb seeds.
Also, if the two parts of the Bulbasaur are distinct, that implies the bulb is supplementing a diet that was already supporting the animal body. Given the name of the final evolution is Venusaur, I'm going to assume insects, probably birds and rodents once it grows larger and slower.
I'm almost entirely sure this thing lives in and around rainforests and jungles. Lots of moisture and sunlight for the chlorophyll and lots of biodiversity (to feast upon). It also fits with the assumed venomous amphibian origin.
I'm going to assume one of the oversimplifications is the evolution system, and that means the Bulbasaur, as pictured above, is a recognized and therefore official species for use in pokémon sport. There's probably all manner of variants not officially recognized, like ones that don't have their bulb, or who had their bulb seed malform somewhere along the line, or shift position in a way that hinders mobility. It also indicates a Bulbasaur that's battle ready can also lay or sire eggs, though without a ready support system, they're reliant on human aid to properly raise their young with bulbs. Based on body plan and energy requirements, I'm guessing covered nest with between one and three eggs, warm, kept damp, so the heat equally incubated the eggs. When they hatch, the young are kept hydrated and tucked away while a seed is implanted in their soft backs. Eventually, they are exposed more and more to the sunlight and the energy from that and catches brought to the nest helps them grow quickly until the adorable little starter beasts we so love.
There's more. There so much more. But I'll cover that next post or I'll ramble over the word limit.

I honestly think alot of the ultra beasts not having normal faces is a rly cool way to communicate that they're aliens that might not even be Pokemon like we know them. & besides that I feel like they're still designed to fit that idea personally
if i didn't make this comment in the tags of one of them, then i forgot, or i worded it poorly. which is to say i agree with this—it makes my job a Tiny bit harder, but despite having no visible "faces," they still kinda have obvious Front Sides most of the time. which, y'know—they're still communicable and understandable which is fine, but i think it could've been interesting if some of them were even more wacky and alien with no real roots in the pokémon or human form
Tumblr media
right now i remember. and then they added it to lgpe because that was a tie-in with pokémon go. and then you couldn't evolve them in lgpe or something, i think?? dunno. this whole pokémon is really strange, especially considering it only served as a promotion for pokémon go and subsequently lgpe and then was immediately forgotten when tpc realized nobody liked lgpe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES it's like the dozens of other cats and we LOVE THEM FOR THAT? HELLO? i will not stand for cat pokémon slander they're always my favorites
Tumblr media
i didn't know it was created by james turner! yeah, he tends to be pretty open about how he creates pokémon designs. which makes me question this next ask's source…
Tumblr media
these two asks are basically saying the exact opposite thing! i'll let you two duke it out while i google that interview
……………well, okay. seems like the tweets where james turner might've said this have been deleted? there are some replies to the tweets that imply what he said, but. i guess not technically confirmed? i dunno i just woke up. and got back from comic con yesterday so i'm all sore… be nice to me…

Heya, just wanted to get your input on something if thats alright. I’m a traveling trainer, though thats about to be past tense pretty soon. Wandering around the world’s given me some of the best experiences of my life but, it’s time to actually figure out what i’m doing with my life y’know? The problem with desk jobs an all that is that i don’t want my team to get bored sitting at home, been to hell and back with em after all. So i guess what im asking is if you know what kinda jobs’re out there that’ll still let me use my team? Excluding the ol’ trainer to gym leader pipeline i mean, wouldn’t be fair to the mons i’d have to bench in order to fit the type requirements.
Sorry if thats a bit heavy or a bit long. Wishing you the best. -Ace Trainer
if you wanna keep your pokémon active you could settle down as a battle maison or other battle court member, tour guide in more dangerous routes, maybe tutor younger trainers, could possibly get into a first aid/rescue team, become a pokétuber storytime channel. lots of options

So I guess the current theme is future stuff before the plot continues. So then a theory for Midas.
I imagine that midas grown up would be a very loving and emotional individual. I can imagine during the aneira situation he‘s just trying to console a worried akoya while internally panicking and trying not to burst out into a crying fit himself. By the way I imagine that a situation like this would have sent the other members of their family running to their side including the other kids, any mates or other family they might have around them as well as persim andany of akoyas other siblings they ran into that decided stick around and any other family they might have around, much like Pokémon-ash-au’s world when ash died. So that’s why Midas is present here.
(I‘m also kinda curious when an update is coming on trials, no pressure though move at your own pace)
Before anything else, I've noticed people being kinda harsh to others in the past for comments like this, where artists are being pushed. I'd like to ask that you DON'T do that here. I'll say my own piece, and would rather there not be any harsh words in the comments. Please and thank you.
Oh mate, I don't have much choice the pace I move at. I've never been diagnosed, but I strongly suspect I have ADD, and I really can't get myself to do art I don't want to do. I definitely have hyper-fixations, and the future stuff (Jerry in particular) seems to be a micro-fixation at the moment.
I will draw what I want, when I want. Not always by my own choosing, lol. That goes to anyone who's waiting on anything in particular from me, btw. Not that I'd let anyone, but I really can't be pushed to do what I don't want to do, art-wise.
On top of that, I am one person who draws for free and for fun. And that is the reason for "Arting as I Please".
As far as the Midas thing, I can't really delve into what'll happen with him--Not necessarily for spoilery reasons, but because I've barely thought it out myself. XD
I feel it's not a spoiler to say, you're right that he'll be a loving and emotional individual. He is now, and that won't change. He will always have a strong love for his family, and will be eager to help out and offer an extra pair of loving arms to those who need it. The same is true of all the Lindens in the future, as long as their own lives don't prevent it for any reason. They will be loyal to their clan, no matter how far out their branches reach. <3

Ok so! With subtitles, here's what we know of the RVT crew, please disregard my previous post, seems I did misunderstand couple things lol
Friede and Orio are childhood friends. Orio moved to Hoenn at later point for a mechanic job?
Lucca was Friede's TEACHER. Meaning that Friede is probably closer to 20-25 years old and Lucca is probably around 40s. We can kinda deduct this from small Liko's appearance, as she looks around 5 or 6 years old in the flashback. Lucca also calls Friede a young man with a promising future. All this can deduct it's been around 5 years since then? This ofc, depends on everyone's ages and all, but Pokémon never tells this.
Captain Pikachu is Paldean. And the flashback episode takes place in its entirety in Paldea, aside from the Hoenn trip to transform Asagi to Brave Asagi. Which is when Orio joins Friede. So I think this makes Cap, Friede, Landau and Orio the founding members of The Rising Volt Tacklers, huh.
The first location in the flashback could, in some way, indicate that Landau is from the sea town in western Paldea, where the auction market exists in the games, as that was what we saw in the background I think? Also shows Larry in his gym.
Lucca is also from Kanto lol. Or at least she lived there as a teacher til they moved to Paldea after getting married. Liko was seemingly born in Paldea.
Regarding Friede and Orio being from Kanto, I guess Kantonians are no longer limited to having japanese names as so many people from Kanto in this series do not fit Kanto regarding their names ahsjgfskjfs. Roy also feels very different from what I'm used to seeing in Kanto names in the anime.
So much info. Others are focusing on how pretty and amazing narratively the episode is, while I'm just eating up all the lore bits lol.

Felt like writing about my OCs a bit so yeah~
As you probably noticed I tend to use one of my two OCs to represent myself. The actual character for drawing myself (ig?) is this purple little ghost thingy! I uhh never gave ‘em a official name but they do represent me so idk naming them differently than what I name myself would be kinda odd >.<
The other two are original characters that are supposed to represent a certain aspect of me~ As seen in my first post, Maroon is the representation of my intrusive thoughts while Noble is the ahem ‘Cringe' part of me.
Maroon was actually created wayyy before this blog. Their original purpose was to be a villain in a really edgy Pokémon fanfiction I wanted to make. I never really got around to writing it (for the better tbh). Later on I always cast them as the villain in any made up story I created since well… I needed one and Maroon fit the role. After awhile I realized Maroon was created specifically to satisfy my intrusive thoughts and scenarios, and here we are now ^v^ The whole reason this blog was created are those thoughts so yeah.
Cringeness was created specifically for this blog~ After I decided ‘Yeah you’re right inner thoughts I will allow myself to be cringe!’ I made this blog and along with it Noble. Personally when I refer to myself as ‘cringe’ I see it more as a reclaim of the word I guess? Or something like ‘yeah I can be consider cringe by some and that is perfectly fine’. I guess Cringeness is a character that is basically ‘accepting the part of me that can be considered odd by some’. Fun fact: I was also gonna use them as a Villain for an AU originally but decided against it =u= OH! + Their name is a mix of Cringe & Empress UvU/
Design wise I decided to make Cringeness the exact opposite of Maroon. They are rounder and more feminine unlike Maroon who is more masculine and sharper. Oh! I also wanna add how I intentionally made Maroons eyes have long eyelashes while Cringeness basically has none =o=/ Whenever I draw ‘em I always make sure to draw this part correctly!
Uhm… That is it for now, maybe I’ll make another post in the distant future about my OCs that is more comprehensible /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\ Ty if u read this, idk if what I wrote made any sense whatsoever but I hope it did. I know I can write a bit chaotically at times XD

Ok so when the Suicune said it would call me? Well it did, when I was asleep, on the Pokegear and not on my real phone thank god. I had the TV turned off so I didn’t hear it but when I turned it on this greeted me
Tumblr media
After I pressed A it got snarky with me
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine getting called out by a ghost or some shit
It started to explain that it had found a convenient channel for communicating and asked me to talk to it, then ended the call. I was kinda tempted to not do it to see what would happen but there’s like nothing else to do on this map and I wanted to see what was up with it. Can you guess what this revolutionary communication channel was?
Mail.
Tumblr media
Keep in mind I have no Pokemon on me so I guess it’s just pulling up the mail function for this or whatever but I guess it works?
Anyway it prompted me to ask it anything so I asked it who it was and got this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I asked it WHAT it was instead
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That would be cool if it wasn’t for the fact these cartridges have like, 8 mb of space I think. And I’m pretty sure you’re not fitting an advanced AI into that kind of space so, ghost theory stands for now even if it doesn’t think it’s a ghost
Then it asked me this
Tumblr media
I said yes but it just popped up the yes/no box again. Why are you asking if you already know???
It forced me to the mail screen again so I told it its on an N64 and it was like ooh yes of course like some smug motherfucker lmao I talked to it again after that and it immediately gave me the mail screen again, I’m guessing that’s like its new default prompt unless it has something to say to me. Anyway I asked it some more stuff, here’s a recap of the answers I got:
Are you gonna haunt me now: Would you like me to? Haha.
How long have you been here: As long as you remember. I couldn’t give you exact years at this point.
Where are you from: Do you really think that’s relevant information?
Is this game haunted: It’s about as haunted as any old ROM. Code isn’t haunted, it’s just doing what it’s been told to do. And sometimes what it wasn’t exactly told, at least by the people who made it.
What do you want: I would’ve liked you to replace the battery beforehand. Too late for that now, though, we might as well move on with what we have.
What do you need: A way out.
What’s a way out: Could be any number of things. How can you save decaying technology? Maybe you need discs and drives for it, maybe there are other ways. Personally? I’m counting on the latter. Incidentally, do you remember the first Pokémon you caught? Where is it now? What do you think remains of it?
I’m not sure what else I should ask it so I dropped it for now. I guess it’ll call me again if it needs me? Not a fan of how cryptic it’s acting tho, it’s talking like this is a game or something (yes I’m playing a video game but you know what I mean). If anyone has any ideas for things I could ask let me know maybe?
