takemichi didn't respond, his grip only tightening more which made you wince in pain before looking down and seeing the crimson red color soaking your shirt "m-mikey?"

everything was starting to get darker, and mikey could feel your grip on him loosening which only made him go faster "don't worry, you're gonna be fine, i promise"

"i'm so tired," you mumbled, leaning your head on mikey's shoulder and closing your eyes "no, no, no don't close your eyes, y/n," mikey shook around to try and keep you awake without crashing

soon enough, your eyes ended up closing and takemichi started to freak out "mikey! they're eyes are closed! what do i do?! mikey!" before he pulled you closer to him and tried to open your eyes before suddenly going eerily quiet

"takemichi? what's wrong?" mikey questioned, glancing back for a split second before back at the road "y/n isn't waking up. m-mikey they won't open their eyes" takemichi started to cry making mikey make a harsh left turn and stopping immediately

"y/n?" mikey got up and looked at you in takemichi's arms, "y/n, baby. baby, please open your eyes," he gently takes you from takemichi and opens your eyelids with his fingers only to see no response in them "y/n?"

after a few seconds of looking at you not move, both boys realized you were gone, and both felt equally as guilty. mikey for causing all of this and takemichi for not being able to save you or stop you from showing up

the funeral was only your family and the highest ranked toman members, including takemichi who could tell there was something wrong with mikey now, he had changed before, but he knew this was the final straw

after you died, mikey disbanded toman and disappeared for a while before coming back to tear apart his once friends, and he succumbed fully into the darkness that was waiting for him, after losing so many, and you, he couldn't do it anymore

mikey ended up creating bonten, and soon enough was one of the most popular gangs in japan for their time, and he was worse than ever, killing anyone who betrayed him or disagreed with his actions with no hesitation

mikey ended up dying because of his actions, getting killed in a gang fight but only because he couldn't keep on living anymore, not without you in his life

Sano Shinichiro:

shinichiro loved you so dearly, and so much that he gave up his gang life just so you wouldn't get involved or possibly killed because of him, he would even kill for you if you asked

he thought you would never leave him because he showed so much love for you, which was why he was utterly heartbroken when he found you on the bathroom floor with blood pooled around you

shinichiro had seen his fair share of extreme beatings and occasionally death with his time in the black dragons, but never in a million years did he think he would lose you to yourself, not him, or anyone else, but your own doings

had he not shown enough love? did he not notice something was wrong with you all this time? how could he be so stupid to let this happen? there were so many thoughts running through his head that the male immediately started crying when he saw your lifeless body

sobs were wracking through shinichiro as he slid on the ground, his blue jeans getting splotches of red on them from the blood on the white tile in the bathroom as he pulled you into his lap "y/n? y/n look at me. please, look at me, please"

a young mikey heard shinichiro crying and peeked through the doorway, his eyes widening when he saw the two of you "sh-shinichiro?"

shinichiro quickly turned his head, his eyes already turning red from crying as he looked at mikey "mikey! c-call an ambulance! quickly!" he yelled to his brother before looking back down at you "c'mon honey, just stay with me please, please i can't lose you"

mikey quickly ran to the phone and called the police, saying that there was blood and they needed an ambulance ASAP or else you would die from blood loss if not dead already while shinichiro was trying to wake you up

shinichiro was trying everything possible from shaking you, one slap, and even cpr but nothing was working, he was going to lose you, and that was his worst fear since he had met you, he left the gang so this wouldn't happen only for you to do it to yourself and he started to cry even more

he didn't know what else to do so he picked you up and walked you to the bathtub before setting you down in it, the blood sticking to his clothes and leaving red stains on his arms as he looked at you with tears still falling down his face

by the time the paramedics and police showed up, you were already long gone, and shinichiro knew it, he had done cpr for as long as he could, but there was nothing more he was able to do and he regretted everything

for being dense enough to not realize you were feeling like this, for not being a good enough boyfriend to ask how you were feeling, for everything possible he had done wrong to cause this

at first the police questioned shinichiro of killing you but when him, and mikey and emma said that you had done it to yourself, the police ruled it as a suicide and left it at that

shinichiro went to your family and gave them the news, handing them a letter you had written for them before doing it and much to his surprise, they didn't blame him, in fact, no one did, no one except himself

the funeral was strictly your family and the sano family along with wakasa and benki having known you as well from when shinichiro was in the black dragons with them

shinichiro fell into a depressive state after you died, not even working on bikes to try and distract himself, he would just sit on his bed, staring at the empty spot you used to lay in beside him and cry more and more each day

he could barely wrap his head around it all, he thought leaving the black dragons would make everything better for the two of you and his siblings, but even though he did, it changed nothing, all that changed is who it was that had done it

it wasn't until one night that shinichiro was working on one of the bikes that two kids, baji and kazutora ended up breaking into the place and accidentally killing him without realizing he was mikey's older brother

but shinichiro wasn't afraid of death, not after you died, he figured it was just his time to go, to return back to you and be happy again, not filled with dread and sadness for the rest of his life

to him, he was okay with dying, because it meant shinichiro could see you again, and that's all he wanted more than anything, was to be able to see you one last time

Kurokawa Izana:

you were the only one izana loved, genuinely loved, more than anything else in the world and no one was going to change that, not on his watch

but of course, not all things go according to plan when he was such a popular gang leader for tenjiku, it was only bound to happen that you would get hit in the crossfire of the gang wars

you knew how much izana hated mikey and emma, but you never thought he would go to such extents and try to kill them both, and succeed in one of them, and truthfully, it scared you a little

the fact that he was willing to kill those who he used to love all because of one fuck up, it worried you that maybe one day izana would kill you too, but he always assured you that he wouldn't

but in the end, he was the one who killed you

during the tenjiku-toman battle, izana pulled a gun on mikey and you tried to stop him, attempting to grab the gun only to end up getting shot from him

the moment the gun went off and you dropped to the ground is the moment everyone stopped and stared at the scene that had just unfolded and izana dropped the gun immediately after he saw you drop and the blood pouring from your chest

"y/n?" izana said barely audible, looking down at you with wide eyes before dropping to his knees when he heard you try and talk but only came out as gurgling due to him hitting your lung

"i-i jus-just wanted y-you to st-stop," you were hardly able to get out, tears welling up in your eyes once realizing you were probably going to die here all because you were stupid enough to try and stop him "i'm s-sorry"

izana pulled you into his lap while shushing you to not talk, holding your head up to look at him "no, don't apologize. this, it was all my fault. i was so stupid" there were tears starting to fill his own eyes as he looked down at you "i'm sorry, baby, i shouldn't have brought you into this"

you just shook your head, raising your bloodied hand up to izana's face and wiping the tears that had begun to fall "it's o-okay, izana"

by now izana didn't care if he was crying in front of not only tenjiku but also toman, he had just accidentally shot and most likely killed you, the only person he actually loved more than himself, and he fucked it all up on his own because of his actions

he knew you were dying and that there was no point in calling for help when he shot you in the lung and you were already struggling to breathe while he kept muttering out apologies and how much he loves you more than anything and anyone else

by the time you had died in izana's arms, he was full on sobbing and holding onto your lifeless body tightly as everyone watched the strong tenjiku leader break down for the first time

slowly, izana reached for the gun he had dropped beside him and looked down at you "don't worry, baby. i'll be with you soon," and raising the gun beneath his chin with his head looking up, he shot the gun and his body dropped beside you, with one of his arms still secured around you

he knew how badly he had fucked up to cause this, for his own actions to kill his lover, which was the only reason he gave up immediately after losing you, because he knew he would never be the same and would end up worse

you were the only thing keeping izana together and somewhat sane still, and without you, he knew what would happen to him, so he decided to leave the world alongside with you so that he wouldn't have to suffer for another moment

izana did love you, even if he showed it in weird ways that weren't normal to everyone else, which was why he killed himself, because he loved you so much he couldn't bare to be without you

so he would do anything to make sure he was back with you, somewhere safe and sound where no one would be able to tear the two of you apart, not even him

A/n: idk if he he ran away or got kicked out, so i did both, and i made the spider bite hurtful asf (i did sreach for both but i didnt get clear answers)

💙You two have the same mother, just different father.

🩵you're 2-3 years younger than him.

💙calls you, kid/lil'one/trouble that sort of thing.

🩵both cried over math homework together, now he just burns them over the stove.

💙bad family, so you two both kinda teamed up to protect one another.

🩵School was a game for both of you, if you had one big school from elementry/primary to high school, he would definitely flunk off, come to your class, stand at the door and calls for you saying stuff like "this is useless, n' y'know it get ova'ere" till the teacher closes the door.

💙If each school level is separate, he'd also flunk off comes to your school under your class's window and either have boards in which he writes the most random thing as you try not to laugh, or he'll yell the same sentences from above.

🩵if he ran away, he would come to you and tell you his plan, how much he loves you, and he'll try to keep on touch with you and meet you from time to time.

💙you refused to let him go, he was your brother, your best friend, your everything, so you decided to go with him.

🩵he tried to get you to stay, but then again he didn't have room to argue about it seeing that he's running as well.

💙if he got kicked out, you'd cause hectic in the house and leave.

🩵when you find him, he's shocked, also tries to get to return back home, he's more persistent this time, but you tell him it's home without you in it, to which he tears up, try to hide it bc obviously, and give you a tight hug, which you return.

💙he has his guitar, you have your beautiful voice.

🩵you often feature in his concerts.

💙once you sang "brother" by to him in a concert, and he almost cried right then and there (i wanna write a fic/drabble about it).

🩵you droped out of high school and started doing jobs, same for him.

💙and then the spider bit him.

🩵you weren't there when it happened, but you arrived shortly after.

💙you just held him to your chest as he screamed, cried and kicked from the pain of the bite, arms tight around himself (brabble-able).

🩵you sang him to sleep that night and a few nights after.

💙he was so scared that he'd hurt you and tried to push you away and even go back home, so lots of comfort.

🩵And then when he started fighting crime, he used the custom you drew him.

💙you help sometimes, he'll let you climb his back as he swings around, beating up bitches left and right.

🩵He bought you a double blade backpack.

💙so now he has his axe and you have your blades.

🩵he cusses and swears alot, you don't, and you actually lecture and scold him about it.

💙when the spider society tried to get him to join them, he refused to go anywhere without you, and threatened and attacked many spider people whenever they mentioned leaving you behind.

🩵miguel deemed you useful as you two usually work together and accepted hobie's condition of bringing you along.

💙turned out you were tech-smart and you helped alot around miguel's lab.

🩵you made adjustments to make you more useful to hobie on missions, to for hobie too.

💙you're now the tech-hero.

🩵tech-hero and spider-punk? Un-beatable!

💙you two are very, very close.

🩵your rooms are a wall apart, and contacted by the bathroom.

💙in-home concerts are almost a daily thing now.

🩵you two communicate your feelings alot by music.

💙once he wrote a song for you and one of lines were "i swear I'd die for you, little one" and you ignored him the whole day.

🩵when asked what's up, you broke down crying saying that you wouldn't want him to die, especially for you.

💙it became "i swore I'd live for you and i will".

🩵that became your reassuring phase.

💙as in physical reassuring, an arm over the other's shoulder + two squeezes means "I'm here for you", putting your hand over his + a squeeze means "back at you".

🩵then miles showed up..

💙you of course were on your brother's side, using your tech to help miles.

🩵you learnt, healing amd medical stuff just in case your brother got hurt.

💙after all of that, and rejoining the spider society, your lives returned to a normal rhythm,, somewhat, as normal as to hero siblings could get it to normal.

🩵you and hobie became friends with the other teens.

💙you'd have sleepovers with them, where you and hobie sing for them.

🩵you two annoy miguel to no end by pulling pranks.

💙hobie scares anyone that tries flirting or get with you, it pisses you off.

💙but if it's unwanted, he will hurt them.

🩵if anyone touches you, he'd cut their arm off.

💙you tease him about his love life, but if you sense the tiniest bit of a red flag from them, you'd take him to the side and tell him.

🩵he'll leave that person the moment he returns.

💙If your hair is long enough braids/locs/dreads all the time.

🩵if not then he'll play with your hair till you sleep, in return you'd sing him to sleep.

💙show binge nights all the time.

🩵happy life all around now:)).

I'm literally coming up with so many ideas that my head keeps flashing me with new images of best friend Ari x reader

This is one of them:

I CAN'T get over the scene where reader slaps on the table to gain twittle brother's attention🤣🤣 (btw they actually give me a little Weasley twin vibe bc of their bickering) so my brain offered me a clip where reader is being furious, possibly towards a handful of people, Ari included. When reader is holding a stern face and says something like: "this is unbearable!" Ari wants to soothe her temper, trying to soft-talk reader. He only finishes the first part of his sentence, when reader shoots him a death-glare: "Uh-uh. Don't even try. You are part of this too MISTER."

and Ari gives the rest of them an expression that reads "sorry, tried my best, you're on your own"

I love this. All of this. P.S. the kitten has claws in this one. Reader lashes out. She is feisty. Warnings for language, arguing, and implied intention of violence, mostly for humor. (Headcanon format because I'm lazy.)

Temper

You show up at the house after a long day to find Ari working on painting the 'dining room' (you're not sure if you'll get a whole dining set for in there yet).

He's got headphones on, so you don't bother him. He hasn't noticed you're home.

Then you hear a bang from behind you, from the other end of the house, down the hall with the bedrooms.

Voices--familiarly childish voices--argue with each other.

"Your fault." "No! This is your fucking fault."

What are Dimitri and José doing in your house? What...What have they done to the WALL?

You can peer right through a four-inch hole between the spare bedroom and the hall. A sledgehammer tilts against the hall side presumably because it fell all the way through the hole.

You see Dimitri's wide eyes beyond the crumpled edge of drywall, and he panics.

You had to pass the doorway in order to see the damage, so both men-children get ahead of you racing through the house, shrieking for Ari to save them and you to calm down.

José tries to hide on the other side of Ari but startles your boyfriend so badly that the brush smears paint all the way across José's cheek and into his open mouth.

"The hell is going--"

"These two idiots put a sledgehammer through my wall," you scream, advancing on Dimitri while he too maneuvers to put Ari between you.

Ari swings with the paintbrush again, this time smacking Dimitri in the gut so that his shirt is ruined. "You did what? Honey, I'm sorry. I'll fix--"

"OH NO, MISTER, you brought them into this house--"

"It just happened, honest."

"We were just fooling around."

"Why would you fool around in my house?" Ari booms.

"Shut it, Levinson. This isn't your house yet, and I have half a mind to make you sleep outside. You should have been watching them!"

"We're not kids," Dimitri whines, shifting to the other side of Ari because it's closer to the exit.

You can't even find the words. You barely have oxygen from how hard your whole body clenches in rage.

Ari turns to the boys and just says, "run."

Ari jumps to try and stop you from grabbing one of your friends as they bound out. You get ahold of José's shirt sleeve and yank him back toward you, latching your arms around his neck, attempting to climb onto his back and take him down. Dimitri trips over Ari's toolbox and faceplants into the partial dividing wall to the living room.

Everyone goes silent as Dimitri removes his bracing hand from another hole and then he looks at the dent his skull made right beside it.

"Shit," he whispers softly before the room erupts in shouts again.

"You mother fucker," you howl, shoving yourself off of José, but then Ari has you by the waist. All you can do is flail at Dimitri as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum scurry away.

"I gotcha, kid," Ari keeps repeating as you hurl obscenities at their retreating car. "I'm gonna handle it. I swear. Take a breath, woman."

A full week later, you sit at your usual table at the bar across from two tentative (and scared shitless) men.

"You two are doing all of the yard work at my place this whole summer."

After a quick glance between each other, they nod.

"And you--" you turn to Ari who stops mid-swig of his drink "--are building me a She-Shed. One off-limits to all dudes."

some stuff i read and watched in december:

the buccanneers: never really hit the heights i wanted it to and most of the cast was not great! but kristine froseth is always watchable and kate winslet's daughter is darling, most importantly scotland doubling for cornwall was beaut. as ever god bless apple for spending money on nonsense

slow horses (s3): i don't know when river cartwright became my shit friend i'm unreasonably fond of but here we are! jack lowden v funny this season and i don't think it's just because i've decided he should be lymond in the billion dollar apple tv series that isn't happening and probably shouldn't bc who else is even blonde (harris dickinson?? i haven't seen the iron claw yet)

monarch: legacy of monsters: i started this and then due to my bad personality decided i had to watch all of the ~monsterverse for context, therefore godzilla december. strong threesome energy in the flashbacks, can't argue with wyatt and kurt russell playing the same character decades apart etc, love a disaster lesbian in crisis etc

~monsterverse interlude: most of these were silly, godzilla: king of the monsters was actively bad, godzilla vs. kong somehow my favourite due to the askars/rebecca hall (long beloved) combo plus all the neon. hollow earth let's go baby!

tokyo godfathers: loved this! love miracles in the city during the holiday season, love to listen to three different podcasts talking about the nuances of trans rep in subtitle translation etc

godzilla minus one: godzilla december! this one made me cryyy, the godzilla theme goes so unbelievably hard, cutest sweetest baby in the world, was incredibly happy to be emotionally manipulated by the endings etc

not going to get into all the christmas film rewatches but: coward's edit of the family stone (repeat the sounding joy!), crying at both little women 94 and little women 19 as per, moonstruck forever, bridget jones' diary colin firth the most sexually appealing colin firth 2 me etc

the wind rises: catching up with miyazaki before the boy and the heron and straight into my ghibli top 3, the love story stuff absolutely floored me

how to have sex: absolutely devastating god

the boy and the heron: very weird and beautiful and sad - saw the dub (robert pattinson you wonderful freak), seeing again with subs this week

jon krakauer, into thin air: a personal account of the everest disaster: i got about halfway through the first chapter and had to stop and ask my dad what the hell he was up to trekking to base camp on his own in the seventies. gripping, chilling, tragic

rose lerner, sailor's delight: rose lerner one of my favourite romance authors (true pretenses i love you forever etc), m/m age of sail romance set around the jewish high holidays with SO much longing and yearning my god

lizzie huxley-jones, make you mine this christmas: fun christmas romance - fake dating but she falls in love with the guy's sister! - that made me burst into tears like five pages in for reasons entirely unrelated to romance or christmas. a 2024 project for soph etc

barbra streisand, my name is barbra: did the audio version so even sped up i reckon i spent at least a full day and a half with barbra. as ever the parts about making things and artistic choices were the best parts, i respect her energy re: including every nice letter or compliment she ever received (my version of this would be reproducing nice ao3 comments etc). wild to me that she spent like 3 decades beefing with larry kramer trying to adapt the normal heart (with bradley cooper at one point lol) but i have to disagree with her impulse to tone down the gay sex to avoid alienating straight people!!

i am not here really but i was proud i managed to keep these little roundups going through the year so. happy new year friends

I saw a post that reminded me of this which is why I'm talking about this out of the blue but whenever I see the 'do canonically male characters you headcanon as trans girls count as female characters' debate pops up I remember this one event from the Voltron fandom where an f/f ship week banned genderbending and people lost their SHIT about it, SPECIFICALLY because the mods were like 'we want people to actually focus on the female characters and not submit already popular m/m ships but genderbent'.

This was years ago obviously so standard 'my memory may be fuzzy' disclaimer, but while I believe part of the reasons the mods banned genderbending was bc they believed it to be transphobic (which you could actually argue against and is a stance I don't agree with), and ppl were using that as leverage to argue, but that's not what ppl were actually angry about. Also, I believe the event was run by antis, who had a 'no age gap ships' rule in place, and people were mad about that, but like. The only f/f ships at the time with even kind of an age gap were ones involving Pidge, (which, again, for the record, I never personally gave much of a shit about), and yeah I do believe those were banned and ppl were pissy about that, but most of the ppl arguing with the ship restrictions were doing so in combination with the genderbending restriction, bc what they were mad about wasn't actually about a major female character being banned from the f/f ship week for Ship Discourse Reasons.

What they were angry about was specifically being told their genderbent m/m ships didn't count because they did not, in fact, contain female characters. Arguments were made that, because it was genderbent, it was now f/f and should be allowed in the f/f ship week. The mods went no, those are still canon male characters and popular m/m ships, and we're trying to run a week about the female characters and f/f ships because they don't get enough attention. The mods were fending accusatory and argumentative asks for ages and told people to create their own f/f ship week if they didn't like how theirs was run, which. People did.

A counter f/f ship week was organized but with less restrictions, specifically the restriction on genderbending was lifted. Now, I never followed Ship Week B, because I don't care about shipping and I was there to see more attention given to the female characters, which allowing genderbent m/m content seemed pretty anathema to. But I did check in on it out of curiosity, and to no-one's surprise, Ship Week B contained very large amounts of mostly genderbent sheith, with some shiro/lance and lance/keith thrown in. Like, I'm sure there was also actual f/f content (I remember there being some Pidge/Allura specifically), but I remember very little of it.

And as I alluded to in the large Nuance Disclaimer paragraph: yes this was the Voltron fandom, yes the Disk Horse was involved and made everything far more explosive than it probably would've been otherwise, and also, if the mods hadn't explicitly put the genderbending restriction in the rules list they probably would've gotten maybe a few genderbent m/m submissions tops. It's pretty obvious that a large motivation for Ship Week B was spite, and as someone whose username is literally spitecentral on AO3, I can confirm there is no stronger motivation for fan content than spite. I don't actually think that genderbent m/m is such a major problem in f/f spaces that it needs to be explicitly banned to avoid having it overrun ship weeks.

But even taking all that into account, this whole thing was completely fucking bonkers. Regardless of your opinions on the mods' opinions on genderbending and the Disk Horse, asking ppl not to submit genderbent m/m content on account of it not containing canon female characters is completely reasonable, and the fact that people got mad enough about it to create a whole seperate f/f ship week SPECIFICALLY to allow genderbent m/m content is insane. All the f/f ship week asked was for people to pay attention to female characters for once, and people threw a fucking tantrum about it and not only point-blank refused, but created more content for the male characters out of spite.

So yeah that was kind of a formative fandom experience to me that taught me:

People will take any excuse possible to avoid paying attention to female characters.

People will make literally anything, up to and including female character-centric fandom events, about men.

And that's what I think about any time I see people get offended when others point out that headcanoning a canon male character as a trans girl isn't the same as engaging with female characters.

#Anyway that was this week's episode of 'Tales From the Voltron Fandom'#I considered keeping the fandom anonymous but I feel like it kinda needed to be named #To put all this ridiculous bullshit into perspective bc truly the vld fandom was like this all the time #I may have gotten overly involved in fandom discourse and got pulled into dumb fights and opinions as a result #But at least I never got anywhere nearly as insane as the voltron fandom was routinely #Anyway secret third thing this taught me was that not only will ppl avoid paying attention to girls at all costs #They'll get really cartoonishly mad when you tell them to pay attention to girls #Like this rlly truly wasnt actually about the ship discourse #It didn't help and escalated things but if that was the main issue ship week b would've just been a pidge-centric f/f week #But it wasn't. Because what it was about was ppl wanting to make the f/f ship week about men #My posts

THEY GOT THE SHIRTS! I repeat, they got the shirts!! They made us call them on zoom first thing in the morning and when they answered, my mom was holding up the shirts and my dad was just staring at the camera. And my brother who was wearing it went ‘TWINSIES!’ Before anyone could even get a word out. Our mom said there’s no way she’s wearing it because what will the neighbors think, the reply ‘that you care about Brian’ is not the correct answer if anybody wondered. And one day as a joke he said i was his favorite (it was after my brother got a tattoo of a pickle wearing a shirt that says ‘i <3 (his name)) so ever since then their (him + his friends who got matching tattoos) contact names in his phone are ‘not (my name) #1-5’ and then whenever one of them pisses him off he just changes their ranking (so if my brother is #2 -he’s never made it that far up btw- and annoys him he changes it to #5 and the #5 becomes #2) and then he sends them a screenshot in their groupchat. They all care more about that ranking than anything else. So while we were talking on zoom, my brother out of nowhere goes ‘dad why did you text m- NOOOOOOOOOOOOO OH COME ON THATS NOT FAIR I DIDNT EVEN DO ANYTHING!!’ and then shows me the text and it’s a screenshot of his contacts where he changed his name from ‘not (my name) #5’ to his actual name. And all of his friends immediately replied ‘holy shit dude, what did you do? That’s a first’ And as a little sister, i am finding so much joy in this, it has been the most fun I’ve had in months. So that’s what you’ve missed on the episode of My Brother is an Idiot. I do feel like I should say that our parents are actually really amazing and very fun (there’s a reason why all our friends hang out at their house even when we aren’t there) but also I’m sure you all can tell by now that my brother is a special kind of dumbass and they are both over it.

We are in the feywild and we stumble upon a campestri ( lil mushroom guy) next to a pot full of melted butter and a cauldron full of boiling soup..

We see the mushroom dipping its cap in the better, happily humming!

The m.s gets a bright idea that he would trade places with the lil guy by using his fish custom he got a few sessions ago (on a whim) and in his words " rock his shit as soon as he goes in for a bite"

The party hides in the bushes ready to jump in if it goes bad. The ms comes out in his giant fish custom and starts groovin and jumping and shouting out in a deep voice that he's ready as he's smearing butter on himself,its the feywild! Crazy shit happens all the time. But.. mind you

Saddening we hear a Rustle in the bushes and a small goblin comes out with a bundle of firewood in hand

F/s instinctively wants to magic missile it but we convince her not to, because we had a plan! The goblin is obviously confused bc instead of a mushroom theres a giant fish ( ms rolled high on deception) they argue abit in why the mushroom wanted to trade but our ms convinced him its okay

The goblin "convinces" him to get into the cauldron after he finishes rubbing himself in butter . the ms makes a face and says " this isnt a bath…this a hot tub! " and goes in hots the soup but the goblin isn't making in move's

But the f/s and barbarian convinces me to be a different type of food

Hey creepy. Quick medical question:

My doctor (GP) has very little experience in trans patients. She listened very patiently and was very understanding (got tissues when I broke down, etc). She filled in all the paperwork for stuff. But, she then gave the advice to *not* change my sex on my medical records. She said tests for certain things yield different results based on sex, and a particular result might be a problem for a male but not a female, or vice versa. She said that changing the sex might affect whether I receive the right medical care for the biology on the inside.

How much of this is true? Is there any case where changing your sex on your medical records could be a problem (from female to male and vice versa)? Sorry to come to you for advice, but you speak openly about this stuff and seem to know what you're talking about. Thanks in advance.

I am not a practitioner, so I can't speak to every aspect of this from a medical standpoint, but I have had trans patients that went both directions. My place in the health care world comes in about 6 months to a year after the visit, so the way we use gender markers is different since we're not at the diagnosing portion of the journey. No matter what, the US health care powers that be (CMS) cannot handle a trans record smoothly--regardless of the gender marker. What I see is the government arguing with doctors that an M or F is enough to insert themselves (as non-physicians mind you) and say "This patient can't actually have that" despite extensive documentation that supports often years-long management of the condition (all CMS really needs for it to be valid.....in their words). Don't try to control your records smoothness of journey by keeping/changing your gender markers--do what you're comfortable with bc CMS will shit itself no matter what, even with non-trans patients.

As far as the MEDICAL side goes, your doctor halfway made a point. She's assuming your records will be mishandled/unread by every provider going forward and it sounds like she's trying to keep you from some headache. There are some tests that do have different parameters depending on gender, but that can be translated to "certain organs or hormone balances will need different result ranges". HRT can also skew results, so being on HRT with your assigned at birth marker will still result in potential mishandled lab work. Currently, the only way we can haphazardly record that "body state" is with a gender marker. There are suggested alternatives, but it would be extremely expensive to implement most of them, so we're stuck w M/F. It's not unreasonable to be prepared for someone to do sloppy work either in documentation or method, but a good doctor should be on top of that, especially if they are dedicated to making their practice safe to their trans patients.

I still have my birth name and marker on my medical records, but it's the only place I do so. I see a lot of doctors and the headache of explaining it all to every single practice is just not worth it to me--it also keeps my records clean of administrative errors so I don't have to contend with additional insurance push back for coverage. However! That's just me! It really is a person to person decision. Chronic illness makes these things all the more complex, so sometimes it's worth it to let that sleeping dog lie while trying to get other things under control.

Never discredit your voice in your care either. If you need to say "I'm transgender, please perform the necessary exams for the organs I have" then do it. Request it be recorded in your record. Usually I see it as the second word in the patient's history of present illness like "37yo transgender male with history of xyz presents today for blah blah". Your doctors will all be reading that same line. They should know, but we both know that people miss things for whatever reasons. If it's any consolation, every other patient demographic has their own equivalent problems. It's not just you that has to remind doctors of basic facts about your body or care history.

I wish you luck, bud! Take some time to think about if the gender marker swap is something you can handle when kinks in the chain form at some point. It's not a guarantee that you'll receive skewed care, but it's very good to remain lucid to the fact that the health care world is still learning to incorporate trans patients.

I have some classical & sightreading training but I'm mostly a fiddler & I learn my ear, in fact the suzuki method is very ear based. So my timing was off. But I played it & it sounds good, or it would sound good if I had full sheet music & a listen through first, & maybe if I played rock guitar. It is actually pretty easy minus the rests in odd places, but they are not bad for people with better timing than me, maybe it would be hard for guitarists to play bc they don't have bows.
