October Sun
summary: you and Wally had finally had a chance to talk, reviewed the information at your disposal, which, by then, had included the text you'd received from Xavier. Even with everything you'd been taught, had researched, had a profound knowledge of, things still hadn't made sense. Had Mr. Anderson really been the Big Bad of your Nancy Drew story? Or had something darker been afoot?
pairing: Wally Clark x fem!reader
warnings: eventual smutty smut smut. and mad spoilers. and obvious Canon divergence.
sorry for the delay, gorgeous ghouls; school bit me in the booty. like, just took a whole chunk of my 🍑 in its teeth and tore 🦈 but that's done now 🫠 onwards and upwards!
bon reading, frens

OCTOBER SUN pt.13
"—and then this morning, Zav texted—"
"Who?"
"Xavier? Maddie's boyfriend?"
Recognition dawned, "Oh, yeah. I know him," spoken with a sour inflection.
"Yeah, him. He's like my brother from another mother." One who'd flounced out of Xavier's life in 8th Grade and had taken half the family assets with her to Milwaukee.
The situation was complicated, at best. While not officially divorced, Claire Baxter refused to come home. Treated the Sheriff as if he'd forced her into exile. Xavier resented his father for it—whatever it was. The details were murky even to Xavier, though he wore that chip on his shoulder like a cross to bear.
"Anyway," You resumed your summary of events, "He sent me this." Leaning forward, you showed Wally the picture of Maddie's ticket on your phone. "They found it in the woods not too far from here."
After yesterday's series of unfortunate interruptions, you and Wally had ensconced yourselves halfway up the rows of spectator seats in the stadium. Apart from a groundskeeper on the field and a maintenance worker floating about the upmost level of the grandstand, you were blissfully alone.
You sat sideways, Wally's varsity jacket balled up and shoved behind your back so the armrest wouldn't dig into your spine (his idea). Your knees were bent over the armrest that divided your seat and Wally's, socked feet on his lap, lounging as comfortably as was possible in your position.
Wally, meanwhile, held your ankle, thumb occasionally stroking under the hem of your jeans, and had his legs splayed wide to accommodate their length in such a tight space. Arm stretched across the backs of your seats, fingers of his other hand absentmindedly lifting and placing strands of your hair at the back of your head.
It was nice. Casual. Totally and utterly attuned as if sharing space was routine. You weren't a closed person, naturally. Weren't entirely open, either, but you were the normal amount of tactile amongst your friends. And still, after knowing them since baby teeth (minus Mathilda and Eli, who'd come into the fold during the latter half of your freshman year) you couldn't recall a time you'd been this snuggly with any of them.
Once again, you'd spent the night with your nose in the gutter of every book you'd thought would be relevant, and not one had had even the insinuation of an answer. Albeit you and Wally had mutually agreed to put your connection on the back burner in favor of solving Maddie's missing body problem, symptoms were still worth noting.
"Alright," Wally crooked his arm at the elbow and propped his head on his fist, "Mr. Anderson paid Maddie off."
"Check."
"But he's paranoid, so he decides to tie up loose ends and remove Maddie from the equation."
"Check."
"He lures her to the boiler room, attacks her, manages to hurt her enough to get blood on the walls, and then..." Wally's voice and expression went dubious, "Maddie runs?"
"Check?"
Things weren't adding up. You could slot the facts into a neat little order, but there were too many holes to hold up your coma theory. Or any theory, for that matter, that didn't involve Maddie's body decomposing in a ditch somewhere.
You sighed heavily and slouched further into your seat, head falling back. Puzzle pieces floated in the abyss, waited for you to put them where they belonged, but they were just blobs of color and there was no picture for reference.
"She ran for it," You picked up where Wally left off, following the breadcrumbs, "Mr. Anderson goes after her. He catches up to her in the woods, knocks her out, hides her somewhere."
"Like, not on school property?" Wally wanted to know, doubt in his creases.
You lifted and dropped a shoulder, "It's possible. If he was able to pin her down and sedate her." Wally's expression remained unchanged. "The girl weighs a breeze soaking wet, Wally. I don't think he'd have much trouble carrying her around, even if she was dead weight." You heard it a second too late, insisted, "Not like that."
Wally shook his head, brushing off the idea altogether, "Babe, she's haunting the school."
And why was he talking to you like you had letter blocks for brains?
"Yeah, and..?" You tried not to let your annoyance slip into your tone, but seriously, while you were sure it hadn't been his intention, you felt condescended to.
Wally caressed your foot, soothing, soft. A bid to listen openly instead of leaping down his throat as you'd been winding up to do. "We haunt where we die, pretty girl." Then added as an afterthought, "...Or are drugged out of our bodies by shady high school staff."
That didn't clear anything up. Ghosts could haunt anywhere they wanted on a whim. You knocked the information around in your mind for a moment, absorbed what Wally had said, and then, sitting up and tilting forward, registered, "Are you stuck here?"
Slowly, treading ice that could give under him at any moment, Wally verified, "Yeah. Whenever we step off school property, we end up back where we died." He glanced at the five-yard line warily. "It sucks."
You actually needed to get a functional To-Do List together, because things were spilling into a sea of fuckery in your brain and you couldn't sort it out.
"Wally," You breathed in and out deeply before continuing, "That's not normal."
‗‗‗‗•‗‗‗‗
The world fell away as your words penetrated. Wally stilled, didn't breathe, didn't blink, didn't make a sound. As if he could stop the truth if he stopped himself first.
He'd known. Known it like common sense; the feeling like looking at a green sky and knowing it was supposed to be blue. Like being sick from Day One yet knowing that that wasn't what healthy felt like. Wrong wrong wrong.
In the earliest days succeeding his untimely demise, Wally had tried to leave the school.
Not to follow his mother home after she'd donated his trophies and helmet to display in the stadium entrance. Not to join his friends in Rodney's basement to get stoned after his memorial service. Not to break his own heart by stalking Jenny to the motel where she and her second choice prom date, Gary fucking Reid, lost their virginities together.
Rather, to go for a walk for the sake of getting some air. Despite having been flung back to the field multiple times by then—a lesson that had drilled into him the habit of remaining perpetually vigilant of his surroundings—Wally had had this deeply rooted understanding that he could travel beyond what the barrier permitted.
So much so that, one evening, he hadn't kept track of where he'd been going (partly because he'd trusted himself to veer away from the perimeter, but mostly because he'd been relaxed. Not actively chasing down a loved one). It'd been an unconscious series of actions; one foot in front of the other, listening to Eddie Money's Can't Hold Back on a Lost & Found walkman, strolling into the thin smattering of trees on the edge of the grounds, and then wham—
Back to Start.
It had happened a few times after that, too. Rhonda would cackle around her lollipop du jour, roll her eyes, and tell him to, "Get smart, Jockstrap."
When Charley had come along, he'd experienced the same thing. And then Ajay and Katelynn. Learning the lesson after the lesson had been learned. Mr. Martin had calmly and wisely informed them that it was merely the result of not having internalized being dead yet.
But that hadn't sat right with Wally, similar to having been given the excuse of roughhousing when he'd caught his parents in a compromising position one innocuous summer-break afternoon before he'd aged into double digits.
"Babe..." Wally croaked, just above a whisper, the weight of what you'd unveiled slamming into his chest and leaving him winded, "What are you saying?"
Your eyes, marbled and bright—though not outright glowing like they had in the theater—stared right into him for a moment. You were obviously calculating what it meant that Wally couldn't leave the high school, all the hows and whys flittering like dust motes between you and him.
"Unless you're a residual haunter, like Mina or Yuri, you should be able to go wherever you want. How long have you been stuck?"
Wally's throat clicked when he swallowed, "Since I died."
You snatched your hand back as if scalded, wrapped your arms around your middle, and said to the air, "That's not possible."
"I mean, maybe it is?" Wally attempted, stitching together his own theories based on what he'd learned as an actual dead person. "It's not like ghosts wrote those books you read. Maybe whoever wrote them got it wrong."
Shaking your head, "Actually, babe, they did. Not the physical copies, obviously, but how else do you think the authors got the information?"
Wally didn't know how to answer that. Didn't know if he could answer a lot of things anymore. Did he even know how to properly be dead? Shoving the existential crisis aside, Wally sat up straighter and caught your chin between his thumb and forefinger, pulling your attention back to him before he lost you to you down a rabbit hole.
"Maddie's stuck here too." He said, circling back, "We can't leave and, so far, no outside ghosts have come in. If she's a ghost here, then she became a ghost here."
You inhaled, held it for four counts, and then released the breath through your nose. Centering yourself. Wally had seen you practice the technique a few times by now and knew it meant you were overwhelmed.
"Take your time, baby." He said, moving to cup the side of your head, nails scratching your scalp to diminish your stress.
Finally, you presented your hypothesis. "Mr. Anderson attacked and sedated Maddie here enough to put her in a coma. He'd have to hide her, though. No way he'd be able to carry an unconscious student out of the school without someone catching him." Wally resumed stroking your ankle, encouraging you to keep going, "He stashed her somewhere? But where the hell could he do that without someone noticing?"
"Plenty of places," Wally admitted, "The school's got a lot of dark corners, trust me."
You did. Wally felt it through the connection, a solid cord from his heart to yours.
"Alright. If we follow that yellow brick road: Mr. Anderson relocated her body," You lit up, words spilling into each other as you worked things out, "but whatever has you stuck here has her stuck here, too, so she couldn't go after her body. Which explains why she's still In Between."
"Still haven't told me what that is, by the way." Wally reminded you. He was behind you all the way apart from that tidbit, unable to properly form an opinion with no knowledge on the matter.
Curling back up into a cozy little ball in your seat, you happily walked Wally through it.
"It's exactly what it sounds like." You said, "It's a plain between plains."
"Yeah, pretty thing, you're going to have to dumb it down more." Wally huffed a chuckle, comfortable admitting that he needed you to define every word in the magical dictionary.
Smiling, "Think of plains like different worlds. I'm in the living world, you're in the dead world, right?"
"Got it."
"Now, pretend there are doorways into those worlds. In Betweens are the spaces between the doors." You pulled the corner of your bottom lip between your teeth and Wally's attention immediately slipped, the urge to lick into your mouth making him twitch. Sweetly unaware, you back-tracked slightly and tried a different avenue, "Maybe not doors, maybe clear glass walls?"
"The door thing made sense. I mean, I think I get it. In Betweens are those places that anyone can access, whereas the living world is just for the living and the dead world is just for the dead. Am I close?"
"For the most part, yeah." You beamed and Wally had to stifle the desire to puff out his chest and preen. "Not anyone can access In Betweens, but if your soul can travel, that's where you go."
"So, when you project, you're in an In Between." Wally stated, though he was hedging for clarification.
"Exactly." You perked up, "I have notes for you, actually."
He went marshmallow-soft at the notion of you staying up late to write out your research for him. That you'd been thinking of him, considerate and willing and thoughtful in a way Wally hadn't been subject to in so long it may as well have never happened before, made his heart swoon.
Wally smirked, slanted forward, flirtatious and bold, and slid his hand from your ankle to your thigh, "Gonna let me copy your homework, baby?"
"Gotta get those grades up before the big game." You played along, flirting right back, "Don't want you kicked off the team."
Without hesitation, Wally struck, halfway out of his seat, hand gripping the armrest behind you to hold himself up. He loomed over you, little thing that you were, squished into your seat and completely caged in by him. He hovered, listened to your breath hitch, and watched your eyes soften.
"Lucky to have a girl like you on my side, then, huh?" Wally said, voice low, tightly controlled, closing the distance between your lips in increments.
You reached up, held his face in your hands, "Damn right, big shot," and then pressed in.
A throat cleared somewhere over Wally's shoulder, from behind and moderately above, and drove him back into his seat at Mach speed, his hold on you resituating to a socially acceptable place on your ankle. The interruption was accompanied by that arcing of gravity that emitted from a living body which meant Wally was once more on the outside looking in.
"Okay there, hot shot, time to get moving. Students aren't s'posed to be up here outside-a game time." The maintenance worker said, illicit cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth.
Wally noticed the man wasn't quite looking at you, and, for the first time, Wally had to wonder what the hell people saw when you and he were together while you were still in your body.
You pulled yourself up as fast as the angle allowed you to without injury, foot still tucked in Wally's lap. As soon as your head peeked above the back of your seat, the maintenance worker clutched a hand to his heart and plucked the cigarette from his lips.
"Jesus, girl, you can't do that to folks." He scolded you, southern accent thickening, "Lookin' like a zombie comin' out the grave or what."
"Sorry," You said and sounded as puzzled as Wally was by the man's overreaction.
"Just hurry up and get goin'." His eyes swept in a strange pattern, away from you then back then away, fixing on a point that would be Wally's nose if he weren't invisible. "You kids these days thinking you can be wherever you wanna be, huh? No respect for the rules, like they don't apply to you..."
God, this guy. "Can it, asshole. Give her a minute to get up." Wally snapped, ignoring the fact that the man couldn't hear him. Bolstered by that truth, Wally decided to shove in the man's face, "Bet you're bent outta shape because all that nicotine makes your dick about as useful as a wet napkin."
He heard you choke on a laugh that you quickly masked with a cough.
The man squinted, lips pursed in aggravation. Surprisingly, he departed with no more than a swift, "Get gone!" and stuck his half-burned cigarette back into his mouth.
Wally glared after him as he marched up the stairs toward a ladder stood under a curtain of wires and metal that spilled from an opened section of the ceiling. Clearly, the man had been in the middle of fixing something when he'd seen you.
"Fucker." Wally grumbled. He patted your leg, pressed a kiss to your knee before he released you.
"I appreciated the support," You giggled, "Even if it doesn't do much on my side of things, it's nice to know you have my back."
"I always got you, baby." Wally vowed as he unfolded himself and rose to his feet, couldn't help tacking on, "Every bit of you," with a wink that made you pink up so prettily.
You wetted your lips, ducked your face into your shoulder; shy after you'd been caught in a what might’ve been a very awakward position. "I'm starting to get that."
Wally let you take the lead, enjoyed how you brushed up against him as you shuffled out of the row and onto the stairs. He shot the maintenance man one last angry look before he trailed you across the field and out of the stadium.
At the top of the grandstand, feet from the ladder, the maintenance man examined his cigarette through a profoundly glum expression. Years of his life burned away to ash.
With a grunt, he dropped it to the ground and crushed it under the thick sole of his work boot, simultaneously pulling the crumpled, two-from-empty pack out of his breast pocket and whipping it into a nearby trashcan.

The BBC lady blowing my mind by pointing out the parallels between the endings of North and South and Jane Eyre (man brought low after losing his fortune, woman has gained wealth and comes to his rescue so they're now on equal footing).
She also pointed out that North and South is a continuation of issues Bronte explored in Shirley (to the point that Helstone is named after a character there), so I guess I may have to read that book one day.

Summary: Reader accepts Zach's invitation about coming onto the podcast, despite going through a hard time.
Warnings: there won't be smut in this (I can always do a part 2), but there will sexual innuendos and other things that make it feel like it belongs in this book, kinda sad beginning, swearing, joking around, reader is good friends with Zach and Jared, reader feeling sad/down, long distance relationship? possible angst?
I will be using some actual dialogue from their videos, but most of it will be from me.

╔═══━━━─── • ───━━━═══╗
It's been a few weeks since you and Sam sat down and had a long discussion about your relationship.
You both agreed that it was best you "cut things off'' until things start to settle down - but you both didn't know when that was going to happen.
No matter how hard you tried, your schedules were always packed. You were flying to one state on the other side of the county.
Sam was flying to the opposite.
It didn't really make sense, because things really didn't change romantically, you still said I love you. You still FaceTimed when you could.
It's just, everything was always over the phone.
Through texts, phone calls, pictures.
You haven't seen each other since the night Sam left with Colby to do their overseas haunted tour thing that they've been planning for months.
That was three weeks ago, and it's killing you - both.
You both agreed that you need to give both of your lives all you got, and that's where it made sense. Putting your careers first, getting ahead so you have time to plan out the future together.
You hated it. Absolutely despised it, but you truly believed that if your love was real, and you truly believed it was..
It will always contain the habit of coming back.
Tumblr media
You hugged Sam tight, not wanting to let him go. His arms stayed around you, chin rested on your head as he basked in the last moments you had together before he had to fly to Romania.
Then to Spain.
Then Ireland.
It was going to be non stop.
"Hey." Sam whispers, "I love you." You sniffle, mumbling into his chest, "I love you." He slides an arm over your shoulder, tilting your tear soaked face up to look at him.
He smiles slightly, biting his lip to hold back his own tears, "I don't care how complicated things gets. I still want you."
You nod, "Always your girl."
He kisses your forehead, "Always my girl."
You can tell he nods, meaning Colby has signaled him, and you let out a sigh, "Let me know when you land."
"You know I'll update you any chance I get." He pulls you into a hug, squeezing tight, "I love you. I love you so much."
You try your hardest not to cry, but you can't help it and sob into his chest, "I love you."
He cups your cheek, kissing you deeply before leaning back, "I don't want to, but I gotta go."
"Go." You smile, "But don't have too much fun." You laugh slightly before it quickly turns into crying again and you fight it, "I'm sorry."
He shakes his head, "Never be sorry." He kisses you one last time, "Wait for me."
You nod, turning around to see Colby standing behind you, "Safe travels." You reach up, wrapping your arms around Colby's neck and he hugs you tight, "It'll be okay."
You nod, leaning back, "I know." You wipe your face, watching as Sam and Colby walk towards the gate.
Sam smiles slightly, giving you one last wave before he walks through.
Once he's out of your sight, you cover your face, absolutely breaking down and you didn't care that it was in the middle of the airport.
Your friend walks up, wrapping her arms around you, "You guys are inevitable."
Tumblr media
"I have to go in like ten minutes, we're getting ready to head to our next place." Sam says from the other end of the phone.
You pout totally forgetting about the time difference, "Okay."
"Hey " Sam tilts his head, "Don't do that."
"I'm not doing anything. I've mastered waiting until we hang up." You laugh and he sighs, "Girl. You're going to kill me."
"If I was going to do that, I would have done it before you left."
You've been coping with jokes and humor. You were still absolutely dying inside with not being able to lay with him. Kiss him. Hug him.
It was still eating away at you, but, as said, you've just mastered it with humor.
"Part of me wishes you did." Sam mumbles with a laugh, "This is hell."
You sigh quietly, sitting up as you rest your chin in the palm of your hand, "I know." You smile as you think about what your friend said, "But just remember that we're inevitable."
"Damn right." Sam smiles and you hear Colby yell at him, "Alright, enough with the phone sex. The car's here."
You laugh as you watch Sam's mouth drop and he pans his phone over his fully clothed in layers body, "Does it look like I have my d-"
"I don't need to know what nasty shit you guys are in to." Colby laughs and you sigh, "Alright. I love you."
You see the phone get ripped out of Sam's hand and Colby's face appears suuuper close to the camera, "I love you, too."
You shake your head, laughing, "oh my god."
Sam gets his phone back and he smiles, "Talk later?"
You nod, "You know it. Be safe. Good luck!"
Sam smiles, "Yes ma'am." He salutes you, "Alright, I love you." You smile, "I love you."
The call ends and you feel that sudden rush of, once gated, emotions hit you all at once. You fall into the bed, specifically on Sam's side and take a deep shaky breath, "Fuck."
You lay a pillow over your face and lay there for a second, taking yourself down from crying.
Your phone dings and you hesitate for a second before you toss the pillow next to you and search for your phone.
A laugh leaves your lips as you see a message from your friend, Zach Justice, Hey sweet cheeks. Come on the podcast.
You click on it, typing out, oh now you want me to come on?
You take a screenshot and send it to Sam. You stare up at the ceiling as you wait for a response from either one, trying to convince yourself that what you're going through, is going to benefit your future with Sam.
Together.
You bring your phone up, rolling your eyes at Zach's response, Not so much me, but the people in the comments. Your name is infesting every video I post.
Infesting? That's a.. weird way of putting it lol. I'll see if I can squeeze you in to fit in my busy, busy schedule.
Your friendship with Zach has always been playful banter, ever since you met, but he's always there for you.
You haven't said anything to him, or Jared, about your current situation with Sam, but you know that just going on the podcast would definitely help you get through this easier.
You bring your phone back up and laugh as what Zach had to say, So kind of you to consider hanging out with me.
You laugh, I know, I can be sooo nice. I'll come if you buy me a plane ticket.
And pick me up from the airport, with donuts.
You see the message change from delivered to read and his face pops up on your screen. You take a deep breath and hit answer, "You couldn't have just texted me?"
"Donuts you say? You must be really going through it."
You laugh, "You have no idea."
"Does this have anything to do with Sam?" He raises his brows when you don't answer him and he hums, "Thought so."
"We're.. together but we're not together? If that makes any kind of sense. I don't know. We both agreed that our schedules are too much for us to be labeled as a couple right now, so we just, agreed to put more focus on the business of our lives?" You shake your head, "I'm just.. feeling a lot."
"Yeah, you're totally coming on the podcast." He laughs, "I'll get your plane ticket." You can tell he's focused on something else and you laugh, "I was joking. I can get my-"
"Done."
"Zach." You laugh, "I don't even know when I'm free."
"Well, you better be free next Thursday." He smiles, giving you a wink, "See you then."
"Don't.. wink at me. That's weird."
"Ugh" he groans dramatically, "Sorry." He smiles, "See you next Thursday, I'll send you the deats." He winks and hangs up before you can yell at him again.
You see a message from Sam and your attention shifts as you read what he says, You should definitely do it, babe. I think it would be good for you.
You tap the screen, Zach really didn't give me a choice. He bought my plan ticket for me already so now I have to move stuff around, but I agree.
Your eyes move up to the time, groaning lowly as you realize just how late it is. You remembered you have a meeting for a brand deal within the next four hours, so you reach over, turning off your lights so you can try and get at least a little bit of sleep.
Tumblr media
Why'd he have to get such an early flight, you think as you zip your suitcase closed. You lift it off the bed and set it upright on the floor before replacing the spot on the bed with your body.
The last two days, Sam and Colby have been camping in a place they don't have service, so you haven't talked to him.
Your phone dings and you lift in hopes that it's Sam, but it's Zach, On your way to the airport?
You laugh quietly, You act like you're exited to see me or something, but soon. Waiting on my friend to get here to take me.
Your friend texts you, letting you know that she's there and you get a move on, pulling the handle from your case and wheeling it behind you as you walk out to the living room.
She comes in, "You ready?"
You look over at her, "Yeah I just have to grab my headphones, they've been charging." She nods, "You doing okay?"
You shrug, "I mean, yeah. For the most part." You laugh slightly, "As good as I can be."
"Where did he say they were camping again?" She crosses her arms and you look at her, "Some.. demonic forest? I have no idea. If I don't hear from him by tomorrow I'm sending a search and rescue team."
She laughs, "No I don't blame you." She walks over, grabbing the handle of your bag as you stuff your headphones into your carry on, "I know how Zach is, and he's a jokester.. are you going to be alright?"
You nod, "I talked to Zach about everything last week, I told him that joking is my way to cope, so I gave him the green light."
"I can't wait for this to come out. I just know it's going to be better than the others." She laughs and you nod, "Oh you know it."
.·:*¨ ✘ ¨*:·.
Walking into the airport was almost like you were reliving that day with Sam all over again. Luckily, you had to go to a different gate in a different part of the building, which really made it a lot easier in the long run.
"Well. I'll see ya in a day or two." You lean in, hugging your friend, "Thank you."
She squeezes you, "Don't need to thank me. Have a good flight."
You nod, "I'll try. I'll text you when I land."
You turn, walking up to the lady to hand her your ticket. She smiles, "Hi, y/n. I have to tell you, my daughter is a huge fan of yours."
"Awe." You smile, "You'll have to tell her I said thank you.
The lady nods, "I will." She smiles, "Safe travels, y/n."
You smile and walk in, turning back to wave to your friend before boarding the plane.
You sit down in your seat, checking your phone to see if Sam texted - but no message. You sigh, unfolding your headphones and slipping them over your ears.
You've been on enough planes to know the routine.
After pressing play for your music to play, you send a quick text to Zach, letting him know that you boarded and should be there in about two to three hours.
Your flight feels longer than it should be. It felt like time was dragging by as slow as it could possibly go.
But once you land and are able to exit, you practically bolt to the baggage claim.
I got my bags, where are you?
You look around, waiting to either see Zach or hear back from him.
Moments later, he texts, Standing in front of the Starbucks. Someone didn't send me their gate number so I figured I'd treat myself to cheer myself up.
You laugh, grabbing your bag as you type with your thumb, you're ridiculous, did you at least get me one?
Zach replies, No why would I do that?
You roll your eyes and walk to the Starbucks, smiling as you see him holding two coffees, "You did in fact do that."
He turns, smiling as he opens his arms to hug you, "Yeah yeah, don't ruin it."
You step back, taking the coffee he hands you, "Ready?" He nods, "right this way, sweet cheeks."
"You just going to keep coming up with new nicknames each time you talk to me?" You laugh and he stares at you, "Um, yeah. That's what I've been doing? Right?"
You roll your eyes, "What are you going to do when you run out of nicknames? Recycle the old ones."
He laughs, "Boy are you funny. Listen here." He stops pointing to his head and you tilt your head as you watch him tap his temple, "This baby can go for miles. Don't ever underestimate me."
You hold your hand up in defense, "Message received, sweet cheeks."
He gives you a look, trying not to laugh and he sighs, "Not cool." He laughs, turning to lead you to his car.
The ride to the house was filled with small talk, mainly catching up and what not since it's been over a year since you've seen him last.
Once there, you're greeted by Jared and Alyssa with hugs.
"How was the flight?" Jared asks and you shrug with a laugh, "Long."
"Did you do your hair recently? It's so pretty." Alyssa plays with a stand and you nod, "Yeah I went after a meeting last week. I figured I needed a change or something."
"You know, I think I seen it on Instagram." She laughs and Zach rolls his eyes, "girl talk, yuck. I'm not doing this." He walks over to sit down and puts his headphones on.
He motions to the empty chair, "Are we doing this?"
"I still don't have a choice do I?" You laugh and Zach sighs, "Now you're finally getting it."
You set your stuff down, walking over to sit on the red seat. You put your headphones on and look around as Jared and Alyssa get settled in.
"We good?" Zach asks and looks at everyone, and you all nod.
"What's up guys. Welcome to one ninety six of Dropouts." Zach starts in a loud, cheery sing songy tone, "Were here with the guest you've all been waiting for..."
Jared gives Zach a drum roll and Zach looks at you, "Miss Y/n y/l/n."
"Hi everybody." You smile, "Just to let everyone know, Zach didn't give me a choice to do this, so everyone should go flood his comments-"
"No, cut that out. We're cutting that out." Zach tries not to laugh, "Listen. It only took how long for you to finally get here?"
"She's a very busy girl, Zach." Jared laughs, "Speaking of.. Did I, or did I not, see that you're going to be on the next cover of vogue?"
"You guys heard about that?" You smile and look at Alyssa and she claps for you, "Powerful woman."
You smile and look at Zach, "Jealous?"
Zach raises his brows, "That I'm not a woman? Please. I don't need anymore problems." He takes a deep breath, "Anyway. Besides that, I want to ask you a very serious question."
You time your head, "That could be anything.."
Zach fights back a smirk, "You seen, two or three episodes back that we had.. Sam, and Colby on here, right."
Jared laughs, "Zach, where are you going with this?"
"No where. Well. I mean." He laughs, "Somewhere, but just, wait. We aren't there yet."
"Clearly." You and Alyssa say at the same time and you both laugh.
Zach points between the two of you, "See. This is why I don't like having them both here, they like tag team me and not in the way any man would want to happen, ya feel me?"
You roll your eyes, "Sam and Colby, your question." You laugh when he looks at you and he smirks, "You and Sam.. getting down and dirty yeah?"
You laugh, "If you want to put it that way, I mean. Yeah, but not like.. recently."
"Why's that?" Zach rubs his chin with his fingers and you shrug, "in the words of Jared, she's a very busy girl, Zach."
"Mm, okay." He raises his brows and shakes his head, "Now another question I have for you.. and don't get mad at me for asking this, because if I'm correct, they confirmed this when they were here."
You raise your brows, knowing exactly where this is going, "Mhm."
"Did Sam leave the states to be with Colby officially because, now, this is what I was told, you threatened to turn Colby into a spirit himself?" Zach leans back and you stare at him for a few second before laughing, "Oh my god."
"That's.." Jared laughs, "Who did you hear that from?"
Zach makes a face, "Oh so now you're going to sit there and pretend like that isn't what you told me last night?"
"Whoa, okay. No. Y/n. I didn't-" Jared laughs and Zach cuts in, "Oh, see. He can't deny it. His face is as red as the seats and he's starting to smell because he's so full of it."
"What the fuck." Jared rolls his eyes and you sigh, leaning in towards the mic, "For the record, I have never threatened to turn Colby into a spirit."
"But you aren't denying that they're married?" Zach tilts his head, pointing his finger at you, "But even then, you'd have to ward off Colby because I'm sure his spirit will just attach to Sam."
"No that's little girl spirits." Jared laughs, emphasizing again, "Spirits. We've been over this with them. Please don't take that the wrong way."
"Anyway." Zach shakes his head, "When's the last time you talked to either one of them?"
You sigh, "Oh gosh. This will be day three, but I've already said, if I don't hear from him by the end of today I'm sending in a search and rescue team for their asses."
"Oh gosh, that just.. wow." Zach sighs, "Can I just.. that just brought up something very serious and I need to say it, like right now."
"Or what you'll explode?" Alyssa asks causing you and Jared to laugh. Zach looks over at her, "Can you just shut up for two seconds, I have something important I need to say."
Alyssa raises her hands, fighting back her laughter.
Zach looks at you and he takes a deep breath, "Now this.. might be hard for you to hear, as well for everyone else watching and, or listening.. but.." he looks into the camera, "If you wanna see me go retrieve Sam and Colby from." He pauses and looks at you, "Where are they right now?"
You fight back laughter, "Camping in some demonic forest."
He picks right back up, "Camping in a demonic forest, subscribe to the Patreon, you can see all of that plus stuff that's already happened."
"You're.. insufferable." Jared shakes his head as he looks down and Zach just shrugs, "People like them. And if they know that I'm willing to help them, they'll like me, too. Okay. Moving on."
"So you literally got in today? Like your flight." Zach asks and you just stare at him. He cracks a smile, "What?"
"You're literally the one who picked her up from the airport, Zach." Jared laughs and you gasp, "Oh, and he brought me donuts like I said to last week and a coffee at the airport while he was waiting for me."
"Hey hey hey." Zach says quickly, "Don't be telling everyone lies. You know I spit in your coffee before I gave it to you."
"That's atrocious, Dude. What the fuck." Jared closes his eyes and shakes his head. You stare at Zach, "No you didn't." Zach shrugs, "The world may never know."
"I don't know if I believe him, because I can totally see him doing that, just like to fuck with someone close to him." You laugh, "Oh god, I drank all of that, too. Did you really do that?"
Zach sighs, nodding his head as he speaks, "No, I didn't."
"See!" You point to him laughing, "You're a child."
Zach laughs, "Yeah and you're the queen of England." He pretends like he's using a gavel, "Case closed. So. Back to Sam and Colby.. Since you're so close with them, like have you gone on any investigations with them?"
"I used to. Like right before my channel took off, I would go with them maybe twice a month?" You answer and Zach nods, "Is that why your channel blew up?"
You can tell he's asking something that does relate to being touched or spoken to by a ghost, "Are you-"
"Yes." Zach cuts you off and you laugh, "No. I didn't sell my soul. I'm pretty sure it's still there, I mean I don't know how to check but."
Zach reaches over and feels your wrist, "Still there."
"Zach." Jared bursts out laughing, "that's her pulse man, not her soul."
Zach shrugs, "You never know. She may have turned into some sort of succubus demon thing that doesn't have a pulse but she has one. She's good."
You roll your eyes and you can feel your phone vibrating in the pocket of your sweatpants, "I'm getting a call."
"That the devil calling, he wants to return your souls." Zach says and you laugh, "That was good." You pull your phone out, not even hiding your happiness when you see Sam's name, "It's Sam."
You push your one headphone off your ear and bring your phone up, "hey!"
"We just got to service, are you okay?" Sam asks and you keep smiling, "Yeah I'm actually doing the podcast right now."
"Oh fuck, right now? I'm sorry." Sam says and you shake your head, "No, you're fine, how was it?"
You look over at Zach and he wiggles his fingers, "Put him on speaker." You hold up one finger and continue to listen to Sam speak, "I'll have to FaceTime you later and show you. It was pretty nuts."
"Oh god, yeah I'm sure. Zach wants me to put you on speaker so I'm going to do that here in a second." You take the phone away and tap the button, "Okay."
"Is y/n a succubus?" Zach asks straight away, obviously catching Sam off guard, "What.. the fuck?" He laughs, "Is she a what?"
"A demon. I mean I checked her pulse and she has one so I think we're good, but I figured I'd check in with the main ghost hunter because you'd know her better than any of us."
"What kind of things are you talking about on the podcast?" Sam laughs and Zach sighs, "I guess you'll just have to wait and see when the video comes out."
"Um.. okay." Sam laughs and you take him off speaker, "You're off speaker, now."
"Yeah so give it to her good, Sammy my boy." Zach yells and you roll your eyes as Sam laughs, "There's something wrong with him."
"Oh I know. But according to him, his brain can go for miles."
"Y/n. What did I say about telling my secrets." Zach shakes his head and you shrug, "Sorry, that must have been the devil taking over."
Zach raises his eyebrows, "Clearly." He nods, "Ask Sam if he got my text, since they now have service and what not."
You relay the message and Sam takes a second to check, "Oh yeah, I got it."
You nod to Zach, "Yeah, he got it." Zach nods, fighting back a smirk, "Cool, cool."
"Why are you acting like that?" Jared asks and Zach tilts his head, "What do you mean?" Jared looks from him to you, "You're being.. more weird than usual."
"I have my meter for weirdness and it sits right here." Zach holds his hand up, "and I haven't gone above that level since... Mm. Let say. Tuesday?"
"What's going on?" Sam asks and you laugh, "Oh Zach and Jared are arguing. Normal stuff, you know."
Sam laughs, "Oh yeah. Typical." You hear him sigh and you know what's about to happen so you cut him off before he can say anything, "Talk later?"
"You know it. I love you." Sam says and you smile, looking down, "I love you."
The call ends and you look up, "Alright."
"Alright, now we can get on with other things." Zach claps his hands together, "Are we still going out after this?"
You raise your brows, "Out?"
Zach furrows his brows and looks from Jared to Alyssa, "Is your guy's stuff acting up?" He motions to his headphones and they both shake their heads no.
"Mines good, why is yours?" Jared asks and Zach shakes his head, "No, I'm just trying to make sure that y/n can hear me alright because out is exactly what I said."
You roll your eyes, "Oh my god. Shut the fuck up."
"I didn't know if you could hear me okay or not, was just double checking, jeeze. No need to be so aggressive." Zach tries not to laugh and you shake your head, knowing that no matter how much you try and talk yourself out of it, you'll still be going out.
So you just sit back and accept your fate.

Almost two hours later, the podcast comes to a close and you set your headphones down on the bench, "Is it just me, or did that podcast feel like it went longer than normal?"
You look between Zach, Jared, and Alyssa.
"I don't think it felt any different." Jared shakes his head and shrugs. Alyssa nods, "I think it went over just a little bit, but not much."
You nod and Zach stands up, "That jet lag must be really doing a number on you."
You shrug, "I don't know, but are we at least getting dinner because I haven't eaten since this morning."
"You are such a cry baby. Let's go." Zach laughs as he walks away and you scoff, following him out the door.
You all pile into the car and start driving to the restaurant, "So where was Tara?" You ask leaning forward, "I texted her but I haven't gotten any answer from her."
"She's like, really sick." Zach says, "I called her this morning and it sounded like she swallowed her phone."
"Oh god, if she sounds that bad then she's probably sleeping it off." You lean back, looking down at your phone, "So what did you and Sam talk about?"
You look up at Zach and he looks back at you in the rear view, "When did your name change to Nelly because you're awfully nosey."
You laugh, "Fine then don't tell me. I'm sure he'll tell me anyway."
"Yeah, he probably will." Zach turns into the parking lot and you roll your eyes, accepting that reverse psychology doesn't work on him.
As you get out, you check your phone. You let out a sigh and slip it into your pocket before closing the door.
"I don't know much about the situation.." Alyssa says as she walks over to you, ".. but I know that you and Sam are major endgame if you ask me."
You smile, "Thanks. I just.. we talked about putting pause on our relationship and it's just so hard because the only thing that really changed was us making time for each other. I mean, it didn't really happen much lately anyway, but the fact that we just cut it all out in one shot.." you sigh, "I hate it."
She nods, "I'm sure it's rough, but you both have great careers, and I promise that it'll work out in the end. It might not seem like it now, but it will."
"Thank you." You take a deep breath, "I actually needed that."
She smiles and rubs your back, "Come on, Zach is probably in there bitching."
You laugh and roll your eyes, "Probably."
You walk into the restaurant, making your way to the table that Jared and Zach are sitting at and Zach looks up, "So they didn't get kidnapped."
"You can't get rid of us that easily." You laugh as you sit down, "So what's good here?" You look over at Alyssa and she explains some of her favorite dishes.
Throughout dinner, you caught yourself checking your phone and your sadness grew each time you seen zero notifications from Sam.
At this point, you wanted to go to a hotel and just sleep off your day.
But that wasn't happening.
"Why do you look more miserable than normal?" Zach asks and you look up at him, laughing slightly, "I'm just.. getting really tired."
Wasn't a full lie.
"Uh huh. Well you better wake up, because where we're going next will get your mind off, being tired." He tilts his head and you roll your eyes, "I hate that you know me."
"You secretly love it. Now come on." He stands up, along with you and everyone else and you make your way out to the car.
You're quiet for the most part, except for when they force you to join in on conversation.
"When did you hear about Vogue?" Alyssa asks and you can't help but smirk, "I found out a few days ago. I kind of just waited, kept it to myself. It really didn't hit until Jared asked me about it."
"So wait, the post that they made with your picture titled the next face of vogue didn't make it set in?" Jared asks and you shrug, "honestly, no."
You laugh and sigh, "How much longer?"
"We're here." Zach replies and you nod, looking out the window at the building, "So is this like a bar scene? I'm not dressed for that." You joke and Alyssa laughs, "You look fine, trust me. Your sweats were the way to go."
"I am super comfortable." You laugh as you get out, not even bothering to check your phone.
You follow them in, handing the bouncer your ID, letting him check it before making your way in.
The music is loud and it's filled with a few faces that you've met before, not anyone you're really willing to sit down and have a conversation with, though.
You walk up to the bar, ordering your drink as Alyssa does the same.
"So don't.." she laughs, "Don't tell Zach I told you this, I mean, he'd kill me if he knew you knew this.." she pauses and you nod, smiling, "secret is safe with me."
She leans in, "Zach is actually worried about you. He's afraid that you're working yourself too much and now he's worried that this whole Sam situation will break you."
You're actually kind of surprised, but at the same time, you're not, "I kind of thought that when he called me that night instead of just texting me.. but I'm actually really happy to hear that from someone who's close to him each day."
You take your drink, laying down your money, "keep the change."
Alyssa does the same and looks to you, "Just let him think that he's doing something you don't know about. I don't want him firing me."
"I won't let that happen." You laugh, "Thank you."
She nods and you walk back towards Zach and Jared. Right as you walk up, Zach stands up and walks way, phone pressed to his ear and he doesn't say a word.
You furrow your brows and point to him, "What was that all about?"
Jared sighs, "Last minute cancellation for the podcast. He's not taking it good."
"Oh gosh, who was it?" You sit down and Jared looks to Alyssa before he leans in, "Don't say anything, but it was the triplets."
"Chris, Nick, and Matt?" You raise your brows, "Why'd they cancel?"
Jared shrugs, "No idea, that's what Zach is trying to figure out." You pout, "oh gosh, I have Chris' number. I can text him and see-"
"Alright. We're good to go." Zach comes back and sits down. You look over at him, "So the triplets are coming on? They're not canceling?"
He looks between Jared and Alyssa before tilting his head, "You're not supposed to know.. so just.." he lowers his hand in reference to you lowering your voice and you nod, "Ahh." You lower your voice, "Gotcha."
You sip your drink and pull your phone from your pocket as you feel it vibrate, "Oh. It's Tara."
"What did she say?" Zach says and you read over her text, "Sorry I couldn't make it to the podcast. I was super sick this morning. I just now woke up, but I'm feeling a lot better, are you still in town? Would love to meet up with you before you leave again."
"What's the name of this place? I'm going to text her where I'm at." You look up and Jared tells you the name before you shoot her back a text.
"She said she'll be here in an hour." You put your phone back in your pocket and look down at your empty glass, "I'll be right back."
You get up, walking up to the bar to get another drink.
"Are you okay?" Zach asks and you look over at him, "Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" He shrugs, "I'm just.. asking. Jeeze. Can't a guy just ask a girl if she's okay?"
You fight back a smirk, knowing that he really cares, "Yes, Zach. I'm fine, and you.. and Alyssa and Jared have all helped me get through the day without crying."
"Good, because I really don't think I could handle you crying.." Zach laughs slightly, "Tara said she'll be here in an hour?"
You nod, "Yeah, she has to get ready first, I guess."
He nods, "Of course she does."
.·:*¨ ✘ ¨*:·.
"Mm." You set your glass down, "Tara's here."
"She is?" Jared asks shocked and you look at him funny, "That's what I just said, isn't it?"
Jared tilts his head, "You've been around Zach for too long." He laughs and stands up, "I'll go get her."
"No I will. I haven't seen her in so long." You stand up, but the three follow you out anyway. You glance behind you, laughing slightly as you shake your head.
You make your way to the door and look around, "Where is she?"
You get a text from Tara, Patio, sorry I saw someone else I haven't seen in a while.
You look at Zach, "She's on the patio."
"To the patio we go." He points, leading you down the side of the building. You round the corner, seeing Tara standing there with a huge smile, "Ahh!" She yells as she runs towards you, "I've missed you!"
"Hey!" You yell and hug her, "I've missed you!" You lean back, "You look so good!"
"Same for you miss cover of vogue!" She pushes your shoulder, "How fucking amazing is that?!"
You nod, "Pretty amazing."
You feel a hand on your shoulder and you think it's just Zach pulling you away to pick on Tara, but when you turn, your heart falls into your stomach, "No fu-fucking way."
Sam is standing there, a huge smile on his face, "I couldn't go without seeing you anymore." He pulls you in for a hug, face buried into your neck and the tears you've been holding in all damn day are finally let loose.
"Hey. Hey, hey." He lays a hand on your head, shushing you quietly, "It's okay." He turns his head, pressing a kiss to your cheek, "I'm here."
You're glued to him. You want to let go so you can lean back and look at him but your body just wants to hold him.
"I'm taking time off. I'm traveling with you. I want to be with you." Sam whispers and you lean your head back, just enough to look at him, "Really?"
He nods, "Really. You're more important than anything in the world. We're making this work. I'm going to make it work."
.·:*¨ ✘ ¨*:·.
The end feels kind of rushed, and I promised you guys this yesterday, but I've been battling a migraine attack non stop for the last four days, so I just wanted to get something out.
A part 2 (with smut) is definitely in the brain for this, you know when I can get it to stop working against me.
But as always, let me know how you liked it. Thanks for reading. I love you all! 🖤
likes and reblogs are majorly appreciated!

Maybe We Could Be The Start of Something
Band member!Azriel x College Student!Reader
Description: Your friends invite you to a bar and you could never imagine who you'd meet there.
Word Count: 3294
Warnings: none
Notes: I had this idea after seeing this art and couldn't stop thinking about it. I actually had a lot of ideas for little stories in this universe but it makes sense to start with how they met. Also I know that's a terrible band name but I never had to name a band before okay. I didn't proofread this because I think I'd delete the whole thing if I did, sorry. This is really self-indulgent but I hope you like it!

You could only blame yourself for agreeing to meet Viviane. Your skull felt like it was going to split open with this headache that has lasted all week. The only thing you wanted to do right now was try to sleep it off under your warm blankets, but instead you willingly came to a bar knowing it was just going to make it worse.
She's been telling you about this place and the bands that perform here occasionally for ages. Apparently it's a real hotspot for up and coming musicians ever since two bands made it big after starting out here. You've been turning her down for weeks so you had promised her that you'd finally come this friday, of course when you agreed you couldn't have known your week was going to be absolute shit. Though most of your days have been shit lately. That might be the actual reason Viv has been so insistent about you going out with her, she knew your mental health was ready to take a vacation and was just being a good friend.
This really hadn't been a good day to come though. Aside from your headache, your last class had also run late, making you lose your bus and barely have time to drop everything off at home and change to come meet your friends. As a little treat you also couldn't find your nice black skirt so you had to just wear jeans, you definitely needed the extra confidence the pretty skirt provided but the universe didn't seem to care about that.
The bar was already packed by the time you got there, you were almost being pushed around while you were searching for your friends. You look down at your phone to ask them where they are and see a text from Viv asking if you're still coming. Reading it makes you stop in your tracks. You can't really blame her for thinking you wouldn't show up since you've been declining every invitation lately, but seeing that she thought you wouldn't even give her a heads up hurt a little. You knew you had been distant lately but you were trying your best to deal with life and you never meant to do it at the expense of your friendships.
You're pushed out of your thoughts when someone taps your shoulder gently, making you look back at them. Turning your head you were faced with a muscular chest, slowly looking up a tattooed neck to meet beautiful hazel eyes staring back at yours.
“I'm sorry to bother you,” he says, breaking eye contact for a second before continuing, “but I think you dropped this.” He raises his hand so you can see him holding your keys. Your house keys, the ones you would undoubtedly only notice were missing when you went back home and tried to open the door. That would have been the cherry on the cake after this whole day. Maybe you should see a witch to make sure it's not actually a curse, no one should experience this much bad luck.
“Thank you so much,” you almost yell as you grab them from his hand in excitement. He just saved you from having no place to sleep tonight. You notice him tensing up when your fingers brush against his hand and realize you might have made him uncomfortable. “I'm sorry,” you take a tiny step back in the crowded bar, “I would have been locked out of my apartment if you hadn't seen that. Thank you.”
“You're welcome.” he said, giving you a nod and something close to a smile, before going on his way. You curse yourself again for acting so awkwardly. You hope you didn't make him feel uncomfortable, he was nice in picking up your keys and giving them back to you. He was also really cute which only made it more of a shame that you met like this. At least you didn't lose your keys, that would have seriously sucked.
Making your way to the table Viviane told you they would be at, you notice almost everyone is here. She was leaning against her boyfriend, Kallias, while they listened to whatever story Alba was telling them about. Ezio and Celia were both looking down at their phones and showing each other something while giggling like schoolgirls. As much as you love your friends, you don't know how much socializing you can handle today. You already fucked up what could have been a very simple interaction. Then again, with all of them here you know Viv won't try to ask you about Eleanor so at least you can keep avoiding hard topics. Viv greets you with a grin as soon as she sees you, everyone following right after.
“Hey, thought you weren't coming after all.” Yeah, you almost forgot about that. You smile anyway, knowing she didn't mean to remind you of how much of a bad friend you've been lately.
“Sorry, guys,” you sit down in the empty chair next to Alba before continuing, “Class ran late and then I lost my bus.”
“Oh. Bad luck.” You have no idea, Kallias. Conversation picked back up after that and you let them do most of the talking, taking a back seat and just watching them. You're glad that they either noticed you weren't in a talking mood or just didn't realize you were mostly quiet anyway.
You have no new stories to tell them since you've barely been functioning outside of school and talking about your feelings is definitely a resounding no, especially at a bar, so you just let them keep up with their conversations and just nod along every once in a while.
Eventually, the DJ introduces the band playing tonight. The Night Court. Judging by the screams and the way everyone moves closer to watch, they're very popular around here and you understand part of the reason for said popularity as soon as you see them step up on stage.
“Oh, they're really good!” Viviane's voice pulls you out of your thoughts. “The guitarist is Mor's cousin. You remember her, right?” You nod. Of course you do. The blonde with sparkly eyeshadow and red lips leaves a big impression, forgetting Morrigan is probably impossible.
You study the guitarist as he introduces himself and the band. He's extremely handsome, the type of handsome that would make you think he can't be human, like some kind of fairy or vampire. You can tell he's aware of this fact with every honey dipped word that comes out of his mouth, literally flirting with the whole crowd. Despite not having many physical similarities with Mor, that allure he exudes definitely matches with hers.
The drummer was already sitting in place, looking eager to play. It takes you a second to notice he was in fact already sitting down as he's probably one of the tallest men you've ever seen in real life. But, with the messy shoulder length hair and big boyish grin on his face, he doesn't look scary at all.
As your eyes travel to the bassist, half hidden in the shadows, you wonder why you didn't recognize him immediately. It was the same guy that helped you before. You had thought he was beautiful before but, considering the situation, you didn't have much time to linger on that fact. However now that he was standing on stage, you could fully appreciate it. He was tall - this much you knew since you were at head level with his chest - and by the way his arms strained against his black t-shirt as he picked up his bass, you could tell he was fit too. He was looking down at the bass in his hands, making the few lights that caught him cast an ethereal glow on his face and on his onyx hair. This man looks like he stepped right down heaven's gates.
They start playing what you think is an original song but can't be sure since you were too distracted checking their bassist out to hear what Mor's cousin had said. He does have a really good singing voice but as your mystery angel starts singing, you can't help but feel bewitched back to watching him.
You barely take your eyes off him during the whole performance but they're all undeniably good. It's easy to understand why this bar is so popular if this is the level of talent their bands have. You can definitely imagine them making it big. They all seem very comfortable and content on stage and the crowd can't get enough of them.
You're so distracted by them that you don't even notice your head pounding anymore, or how fast time flies because, before you know it, they're saying their goodbyes to the crowd and leaving the stage.
Conversation starts back up after that, everyone is gushing about how talented and hot they are and you find yourself easily agreeing with their sentiments. But, with no distraction and the dj back playing songs you've heard a thousand times and the pressure of keeping conversation going, your headache comes back. You wait out just a little longer until you think it's an acceptable time to leave without worrying everyone too much.
“I'm sorry guys but I think I'm going to head home.” You finish the last of your drink even though it's mostly melted ice by that point and start putting your jacket on.
“Already?” You're not surprised Alba is the first to speak up. You'll never understand how this girl has so much energy, you had the same morning class as her but she's still as energetic as she was at lunchtime.
“It's still kind of early,” Viviane looks up at you with her icy eyes and you can recognize the concern in them immediately.
“It was just a busy week,” you explain with a smile on your face, hoping no one reads too much into it even though you all know that's not all. “I think I need to go sleep it off.”
“Are you going by yourself though?” Out of everyone at the table, Enzo is the worst one at hiding his emotions. You can see as clear as day that he's worried about you.
“I'll get an uber. Don't worry.” You gesture to your phone hoping they'll drop it.
“I can wait with you outside.” Kallias offers immediately, ever the responsible one. You really wanted to stay alone right now though.
“You don't have to.” You put your bag over your shoulder to add some finality to your words. “It's cold and there's going to be enough cars out at this hour, I won't be waiting for long.” It looks like he's about to say more but Viv puts a hand over his arm subtly, making him shut up. The bass of the music keeps hammering at your head so you don't linger and just say your goodbyes, waving at everyone with what you hope is a seemingly content smile, before leaving.
As soon as you step outside the pressure you feel starts slowing down. The front of the bar is still full of people so you walk a bit more to the little parking lot on this street. The air is cold but it feels amazing after being in the stuffed bar and your thoughts don't seem so overbearing when you don't have to try to act happy with your friends.
You love them to death but everything about how tonight went just proves that they've been talking about you behind your back. You know this is just them being good friends. You've been acting so differently in these last few months that even one of your professors noticed so it's only natural that they also did, but knowing everyone can tell only makes it worse.
You didn't want to make anyone worry about you. Life has just been going for your throat lately, minor inconveniences keep popping up and piling on top of what was already a pretty shitty situation. But you know once the semester ends, you'll get the chance to finally breathe and solve some of the problems you've been ignoring. And then things will hopefully get better. It just really sucks that your friendships and even school life has been affected by this.
Sitting down on top of the small wall that wrapped around the parking lot, you look up at the sky, willing your mind to let you rest for a bit. Watching the stars twinkling and your breath turn into white clouds of smoke because of the cold. You should probably get that uber and go home before any of your friends find you here, but your body doesn't want to move for some reason.
You feel someone approach you and look back down to meet familiar hazel eyes. You both stare at each other for a second longer than what would be normal, not expecting to see each other again.
“We keep running into each other,” you can hear his voice better here. You didn't notice how deep it was in the crowded bar. His singing voice is also deep but a bit softer than this.
“Yeah.” You smile. Seeing him again after how he helped you and then watching him on stage is making you a little giddy despite your somber mood. He seems a bit less unsure after you respond as well.
“Are you here alone?” He asks as he stuffs his hands in his pockets.
“No, I'm just waiting for an uber.” You hope you're not making a bad impression again. He probably hadn't seen you with your friends before either.
“Alright,” he looks over to what you assume is his car and then back to you, “I can wait here with you.”
“You don't have to. It's cold,” you start but he shakes his head before you even finish speaking, “I actually haven't called it yet.” He gives you a look of amusement and it just makes you try to explain yourself faster. “I have a headache. The cold just felt calming. I'll get it now.” Opening the app, you start searching and, just like you expected, there's a car barely 10 minutes away from you. A wave of disappointment washes over you at the thought that you won't get to talk to him for longer but you push it aside quickly, you barely know him.
“A bar probably isn't the best place to be if you have a headache,” he tilts his head slightly in what you're almost sure is concern. He's a little hard to read.
“I know but I already had told my friends I was coming so…” You shrug and change the subject, trying to allow this moment to let you forget about your earlier thoughts. “Didn't turn out too bad. There was this really good band playing today.” You can see a flush take over his cheeks and the tips of his ears and you feel incredibly proud of yourself for being the reason behind it.
“I'm glad you liked it,” he says as he dips his head slightly in thanks. You feel like this might be the best compliment you could have given him.
“You were all really good. I even forgot about my headache while I was watching you play,” you try not to sound too excited and make it weird but you want him to know how good his band is, “Do you perform here a lot?”
“Yeah,” he leans sideways against the wall next to you, “At least twice a month.” You're starting to notice that, although his face doesn't show too much emotion, his eyes are a little more expressive. His band seems to be a topic he likes talking about. You can understand why.
“Isn't that a big deal? I heard this bar is really popular nowadays, there has to be a lot of bands trying to perform here.” The blush seems to be back but it could also be because of the cold you're subjecting him to.
“We always try to do our best but we've been playing here for a long time. That helps too.”
“You know that's not it,” you point to the entrance of the bar, where some people are smoking, “The bar was packed. I don't know if that's how it always is but I'm pretty sure it was mostly people wanting to watch you perform.”
“You've never been here before?” It looks like he's getting a bit embarrassed by the praise so you let him change the subject.
You shake your head. “Need to come more often though. When are you performing again?”
“We don't always have a schedule,” he looks down at your phone in your hands then back up at you, “But I can text you the details.”
“Oh.” He wants your number. The thought makes warmth rush to your cheeks. “Alright.” You unlock your phone and hand it to him. While he's typing his number, you can't help but notice the scars on his hand. They completely cover his hands, the skin completely marred. It looks as if they were burned. You look away from them, not wanting to make him uncomfortable by staring. He hands you your phone back and you see he saved his number under his name.
“Azriel,” you say the name out loud, tasting it in your mouth. He's watching you a little more intensely than before and you have to break eye contact to stop yourself from blushing. You quickly send him a text so he can save your number as well.
“I'll need yours too.” You give him your name and he repeats it, just as you had done. He makes it sound beautiful in his warm timbre and you can't help the flutter in your stomach. “I'll text you as soon as I find out when we're coming here next.”
“Okay.” You lock eyes and don't look away, just enjoying the moment, until you see a car pass by and realize it's yours.
You think you could have stayed there in the cold talking to him all night. You're not sure why but talking to him is effortless, it's like you've been friends for years. It just feels right and you find yourself wishing that he texts you soon with the concert information and anything else he comes up with. You wouldn't need much of an excuse to talk to him.
“That's my ride,” You say as you hop down from the wall. He looks at the car and when his eyes meet yours again you think you can see a hint of disappointment, hopefully at having to cut the moment short. “Thank you for waiting with me,” you smile at him again, “You didn't have to do that.”
“No problem.” He gives you a smile too, the biggest one you've seen on him. “I'll see you next time.”
“Of course.” You'd be an idiot to not want to see him again. You linger for as long as you can, suddenly not feeling like going home at all.
You wave at him again before getting in the car and something beats faster in your chest when he waves back and watches the car speed off down the street, it's almost like your heart is telling you to stay with him. You're not exactly sure what just happened but you hope you don't regret not staying with him for the rest of the night.
You keep thinking about him during the whole car ride and he's the last thing on your mind when you're laying down to sleep. And when he texts you the next day you know you'll have many more opportunities to spend the night talking to him.

Priority~
Tumblr media
-The one where Gavi prioritized something else over his own girlfriend-
Y/N had been feeling increasingly neglected in her relationship with Pablo Gavi. His football career seemed to take precedence over everything else, including her. One day, she found herself in a tough situation when her car broke down in Girona, and she had an important meeting to attend. Desperate, she decided to call Pablo, hoping he could come to her rescue.
As she dialed his number, Y/N anxiously tapped her foot on the pavement. The phone rang, and she waited, her frustration growing with each passing second. But Pablo was deep into his training session and didn't hear the call. After what felt like an eternity, he finally reached for his phone during a break and saw multiple missed calls from Y/N. Concerned, he immediately called her back.
"Hey amor, what's wrong?" Pablo asked as he leaned against his locker, his breath still heavy from the training.
Y/N's voice trembled with frustration. "Pablo, my car broke down in Girona, and I have this important meeting. Can you please pick me up?"
Pablo hesitated for a moment, glancing at his teammates who were heading towards the exit. He knew he had agreed to join them for a meal after training. "Amor, I really wish I could, but Xavi wants to talk to me about the match tomorrow. It's important," he lied.
Y/N's heart sank. She had hoped he would prioritize her just this once. "Pablo, please, I'm stuck here, and I don't know what to do. Can't you make an exception? I really need your help now…"
Pablo sighed, torn between his commitment to his girlfriend and his loyalty to his team. "I'm sorry bebe, but I have to go. Xavi is waiting. We'll talk later, okay? Te quiero muchísimo amor! "
Y/N's eyes welled up with tears. She felt abandoned and hurt. "Fine, go then." She hung up, her fingers trembling.
With no other choice, Y/N called a pickup truck and booked a taxi back to Barcelona. As she sat alone in the taxi, the distance between her and Pablo seemed greater than ever.
—————————————————————-
Y/N, feeling exhausted and hurt, arrived at Pablo’s house, hoping to find him there to explain why he hadn’t come to her rescue. She texted him, asking where he was, but her phone remained silent with no reply.
Then, she went upstairs for a refreshing shower. The warm water helped wash away the physical and emotional strains of the day. After her shower, she wrapped herself in a towel and lay down on Pablo’s bed, feeling utterly drained.
As she lay on his bed, she opened Instagram, then saw Pedri’s Instagram stories, tagging Pablo and their other teammates at a restaurant. Her heart sank as she checked the timestamp - it was 3 PM, the exact time when she had desperately called Pablo for help in Girona. She realized that Pablo had deliberately chosen to prioritize his time with friends over helping her in her time of need.
—————————————————————-
Then, Pablo came home and walked into the living room and tried to break the ice, saying, "Amorrr, I'm home." However, Y/N remained visibly upset and ignored him, her eyes focused on the Netflix screen.
Not one to give up easily, Pablo made another attempt to bridge the gap, gently asking, "Hey preciosa, how was your day?" Y/N responded with one word, "Tiring."
Pablo couldn't bear to see Y/N upset, so he affectionately said, "Awww, my poor baby," and leaned in to give her a kiss. But Y/N turned her head slightly, causing him to land the kiss on her cheek instead of her lips.
Confused and concerned, Pablo asked, "¿Qué pasa, amor?" Y/N sighed, replying, "Nada. I'm just tired."
Pablo, sensing that something was seriously wrong, decided to give her some space and said, "Okay, I'm gonna take a shower. I'll join you after this, okay?"
After his shower, Pablo couldn't stand the weight of the silence between them any longer. He walked downstairs and found Y/N on the couch, still not speaking to him. He laid his head on her chest and, with those familiar, sad, doe-like eyes, said, "Amor, why are you ignoring me?"
Pablo always had a way to make Y/N fold with his cute brown doe eyes but this time she was determined not to give in easily.
He couldn't bear to see her like this, so he gave it one more try, softly asking, "Please talk to me, bebe?"
Y/N's voice held a hint of frustration as she replied, "Why should I? You didn't even try to help me when I needed help"
Pablo felt a growing sense of desperation. He attempted to explain himself, "Bebe, please, understand. I was at training, and you know how busy it gets. I told you, right?"
But Y/N wasn't ready to let him off the hook. She said firmly, "Stop lying, Gavi. You were finished with your training when I called you."
Pablo stuttered, his excuses faltering, "Uh... well, I still had something to do after that."
Y/N seized the moment to confront him, "Like going out with your friends instead of helping your girlfriend who clearly needed help? I bet if your friend’s car broke down, you would immediately ditch training and rush to help them."
Pablo attempted to explain himself, saying, "Well, I can't just cancel on them, bebe. We made reservations, and I didn't want to just ditch them like that. You understand, right?"
Y/N's disappointment was palpable as she responded, "No? If you were in trouble, I would ditch anything or anyone just to help you because why? You're my priority, and I put you first. But sadly, I figured I'm not your priority now. Thanks for that."
Pablo, feeling defensive, argued, “Well, I can’t just bail on my friends, amor. What will they say? ‘Pablo is ditching us for his girlfriend.’ You know them.”
Y/N’s was extremely disappointed with his answer and replied, “So, you were worried about what they would say more than helping me, your girlfriend, who was stranded in another city and in trouble? Wow, okay.”
With a heavy heart, she got up and went to the bedroom, holding back her tears because she didn’t want Pablo to think she was too emotional or a crybaby.
That night, Pablo and Y/N both went to bed, but they couldn't sleep well. They were upset and didn't talk to each other. Y/N slept by turning her back from Pablo. He tried to hug her from the back because he loves spooning her but Y/N pushed his grip and he understood that she’s still mad at him.
It was 330 AM, both of them lay in bed, their backs turned to each other. Y/N closed her eyes, attempting to sleep, but it seemed impossible.
Every so often, she heard Pablo sighing loudly and felt him tugging at the blanket, leaving her with less and less of it to cover herself.
Y/N finally broke the silence, frustration in her voice. "Would you stop hogging the blanket, Pablo? I'm trying to sleep here."
Pablo sighed and replied, "Sorry, amor, it's just... I can't sleep knowing you're mad at me. I really want to hug you right now, and it's hard for me to sleep because i can’t stop thinking about us. I hate it when we’re not okay like this.”
Y/N sighed, still annoyed. But Pablo's request made her heart softened a bit as she was also dying to hug him. Truth was, she also couldn’t sleep and she knew hugging him would make her fall asleep in a second. Pablo then said, "Please amor? Can I please hug you? I know you're mad at me but you can continue being mad at me tomorrow..”
Y/N didn't respond with words, but she moved closer to Pablo, still not turning her back to face him. For Pablo, this gesture was a silent confirmation that Y/N allowed him to spoon and cuddle her.
Pablo immediately hugged Y/N tightly and said, "Thank you, amor." Y/N couldn't help but smile at how cute Pablo was being. However, she was still upset with him, so she didn't reply. She tried her best to hide her smile because she didn't want Pablo to know that she was actually smiling. She then held his hand, and soon they both fell asleep.
The next morning, Y/N's position shifted, as she lay her head on Pablo's chest while he had his arm around her waist. When Y/N woke up, she tried to gently move Pablo's hand because she needed to get up and take a shower to prepare for work.
Pablo grumbled sleepily, saying, "Urhhmm, no, stay with me."
Y/N replied, "I need to shower now, Pablo. I have to go to work, and don't forget, I'm still mad at you."
Pablo, not willing to let her go, held onto her tightly and said, "But……amor….. I want cuddles…..”
Y/N still trying to move Pablo’s hand, saying, "Your time is up now, and you have training in 1 hour. You should get up too."
Pablo couldn’t resist and asked, "Well…can I join you in the shower?"
Y/N, still upset with him, replied, "No, I'm mad at you."
Pablo clung to her even tighter and said, "Then I'm not letting you go."
Y/N winced slightly and relented, saying, "Ouch, Pablo. Vale, fineee, let's both get up and take a shower."
Pablo grinned and said, "Together?"
Y/N sighed and replied, "Yeah, whatever." as she rolled her eyes but then Pablo went and kissed her cheek making her giggle.
——————————————————————-
As they finished showering, Y/N went to the kitchen to make breakfast, and Pablo still in the bedroom fixing his hair. Later, he came downstairs and found Y/N preparing a yogurt bowl. He hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek, but Y/N was busy and told him, "Pablo, please, I'm busy right now." So, he sat down at the table, playing with his phone.
Once Y/N was done making breakfast, she handed it to him, and he said, "Thank you, preciosa." They both sat at the table, eating while on their phones. After a while, Pablo broke the silence, saying, "Amor, I'm really sorry for yesterday. I was a jerk, and I should've helped you, but I didn't. I'm truly sorry, amor."
Y/N, still focused on her yogurt, finally looked up and said, “I appreciate your apology, Pablo, but what happened yesterday really upset me.”
Pablo then gently held Y/N's chin and looked at her eyes with a deep sincerity and said, "I love you so much, amor, and it hurts to see you being so cold towards me. I miss my clingy baby, I miss your kisses. Please understand that even though I focus on my career sometimes, I love you no matter what. My career is important, but so are you, amor. I'm truly sorry for what happened yesterday, and I regret it deeply."
Y/N sighed and relented, saying, “Okay…fine, I forgive you. But you have to promise me that the next time I call for your help, you won’t bail on me like that.”
Pablo nodded earnestly and replied, “I promise, amor. If I ever bail on you, you can kick me or punish me however you want.”
Y/N chuckled and said, "Well, I'm going to make your friends kick you too!" They both shared a laugh.
Pablo then said, “Yes, bebé, I don’t mind because I probably deserve it.” He then reached out and gently held her hand and kissing it, continuing, “I’m truly sorry, okay, amor? I love you so much, cariño.”
Y/N replied, "Hmmm okay, you're forgiven.. I love you too, Pablito."

Part summary: Leigh develops an unhealthy habit as she hits closer to rock bottom
Pairing: Leigh Shaw x Fem!Reader | Word count for this part: 5.370 | Warnings/Tags: Some hetero stuff | A/N: Things will pick up after this part. I think there's going to be a total of 6 parts, but let me confirm that in the next update :)
Masterlist | Part I Part II | Next
-
Leigh is ten minutes late.
It makes sense. Her willingness to attend this meeting was surprising, because if you were in her shoes, you doubt you'd have agreed to it. Listening to the entire history of a relationship can be exhausting, and it's hard to imagine what it feels like to hear about one that arguably should never have existed.
But just as you're about to think she's bailed or intentionally left you hanging, you spot her sprinting toward the cafe from across the street. She's a mess—hair soaked and sticking everywhere, face bare, missing its usual touch of makeup. But even like this, Leigh doesn't look much different from her usual self. You can't help feeling a bit envious of that.
She rushes into the cafe, attracting a few curious looks, but she barely registers them, her wide green eyes quickly finding you.
“Sorry I'm late,” she pants, struggling to catch her breath, “I got caught in the rain and then missed my bus.” The lie slips out effortlessly. True, it had rained, but the real reason was far more personal—something you didn't need to know.
You shrug off her apology with a smile, signaling the waiter for a menu for Leigh. “No worries, I'm just glad you made it,” you say.
Leigh gives you a quick once-over, then forces a smile and thanks you. Once her coffee order's in, she gets right down to it. “So, Matt,” she starts, her voice dropping to a whisper, “how did you two meet?”
You lean back, carefully thinking about what to say next. You didn't practice your answers ahead of time because you weren't planning to lie about anything. But you're wary of how you word things, not wanting to upset her. Being caught up with a married man is embarrassing enough as it is, and having to relay the details to his widowed wife only adds to it.
“Actually, our first meeting was totally by chance,” you say, bringing your steaming cup of tea to your lips. “I quite literally bumped into Matt one day. It was so brief, I barely gave it a second thought.”
You take a deep breath before continuing, “Then, about a week later, Matt showed up at my clinic with the same friend from before. It turned out, they were there for his friend's dog, who needed a check-up. Matt was just tagging along, helping out.”
Leigh’s face remains passive, making it hard to read.
“The friend was the one who interacted with me the most that day. He even asked for my number, saying they were grateful for the help with the dog. I assumed he was interested,” you say, the memory coming back to you clearer now as you speak. “But, to my surprise, it was Matt who texted me later, not his friend.”
You barely manage to suppress the slight twitch of your lips, recalling how everything once seemed magical to you. Leigh on the other hand, takes a slow sip of her coffee, buying a moment to process.
“Who was that friend of Matt's? Do you remember his name?” she asks.
You pause, racking your brain for the detail, feeling its importance to Leigh. “Yeah, I think his name was Nick or something,” you say, scratching your head. Whether the name ‘Nick’ rings any bells for her or not, she doesn't let on.
“Strange,” you mumble under your breath, but then shrug it off. “It doesn't really matter, he's not the one I—” You stop yourself just in time, realizing you're about to say something potentially hurtful about a situation that still feels raw, especially to Leigh.
Instead, you quickly pivot. “Anyway, that's how it all started. On the day of the dog’s follow-up, it was just Matt who came by. We struck up a friendship from there, and one thing led to another until he, uhm, asked me out for dinner.”
At this, you notice a subtle change in Leigh's demeanor. Her entire frame becomes more timid, the first real sign of emotion she's shown since this conversation began.
You’re about to go on with your story when Leigh suddenly speaks up.
“So, you just said yes, even though he was your client? Don't veterinarians have professional boundaries?”
Ever since meeting Leigh, you've found it challenging to predict what might trigger her reactions—it's like navigating a minefield. Occasionally, you’d find yourself wondering what it would be like to know her without the complications currently defining your interactions. You think about the roles you both involuntarily play in each other's lives, roles neither of you auditioned for but somehow ended up performing.
You feel a lump form in your throat, and your gaze drops to your lap. “Well, he was persistent,” you say, feeling the need to defend your decision. Nevertheless, it sounds weak to your own ears. “But I made it clear nothing could happen until the dog's treatment was complete. And I insisted he'd have to find a different vet for any future appointments. It was... complicated.”
“I bet,” Leigh scoffs, crossing her arms. After a beat, she asks, almost too casually, “So, how quickly did you two... you know, have your first kiss?”
The question hangs awkwardly between you. You know you can’t answer it in any way you could avoid her judgment, so you just decide to spit it out.
“First date.” Under Leigh’s scrutinizing gaze, it feels like admitting to a minor crime.
Leigh stares at you with unblinking eyes. “And how long after meeting him did this first date happen?”
You draw in a slow breath. “Three weeks,” you mutter. “It was last fall.” You add that bit, proactively laying out the timeline as if it could somehow soften the blow or make the situation less complicated. Leigh, however, looks like you've just knocked the wind out of her. She looks away, her expression shifting into something like shock or deep pain. Alarm bells ring in your head at the picture before you.
“Hey, did I say something wrong?” you say in a rush. “I mean, this whole situation is messed up, but if I—”
Leigh’s eyes are glass as they return to you. When she speaks again, her voice is so soft you almost have to lean in to hear. “Last fall... That's when I told Matt we should start trying for a baby.”
The words drain the color from your face. And suddenly, all the pieces of your story with Matt feels even more tainted.
You're not sure what your face gives away when you hear this news, but Leigh's expression quickly shifts from tearful to furious. “Stop feeling sorry for me,” she hisses. “I don’t need your pity.”
Leigh's tears start to spill over, and it's only 7:30 in the morning. It feels way too early for tears, especially here, in the middle of a coffee shop where the day is just beginning for most. You try to shrink into your seat, wishing you could make both of you invisible as the few other patrons start throwing curious, if not outright concerned, looks your way.
You never realized a simple conversation could cause someone so much pain. You thought providing Leigh with answers would help, but it looks like you're just making things even harder for her. Maybe keeping your distance from her is the kindest thing you can do.
“You know the worst part?” Leigh brushes away the tears that keep streaking down her face.
Clearly, she isn't looking for an answer, so you stay silent.
She makes sure she catches your eye before saying, “He agreed, and we started trying.”
-
Leigh catches her breath after wrapping up her class at the Beautiful Beast.
She took a day off yesterday, immediately after talking with you, spending the whole day in bed just trying to sort out her thoughts and feelings. Surprisingly, wasting away for a whole day seemed to help, and her concerns gradually drifted back to her fight with Jules. It’s been days, and Leigh feels the urgency of reconciliation pressing on her. By this point, they should be on speaking terms again. By now, Jules should have let go of her anger, right? Leigh knows she can't afford to have her sister hating her. At least not right now. She needs her family, or what’s left of it—on her side.
“Hey, Jules, got a sec? About the schedule…” Leigh tries, hoping work might be a safe enough topic to get her sister to acknowledge her existence once again.
Jules barely glances her way. Her hands keep moving, adjusting a strap here, aligning yoga mats there, as if the very act could shield her from having to engage. “Sorted. Check your email,” she replies, her voice cold and detached.
Leigh nods, awkwardly shifting from foot to foot. “Great, great... um, did you consider adding that beginners' workshop we talked about?”
Jules stops for a beat, and Leigh thinks, maybe she's going to drop it. But no, Jules resumes fussing over items that hardly require any attention. Then, without even looking up, she says, “Yeah, it's on the list. Anything else?”
Leigh tries to keep her cool, wishing Jules would just cut to the chase and tell her what needs to be done for all to be forgiven.
Trying a different tactic, Leigh goes, “Hey, found a Starbucks card in my bag. How 'bout I grab us some coffee? My treat.”
Leigh’s trying. She really is. Why can’t they see that?
Jules just gives her that look, the kind that doesn't need words, and heads back to her desk. And there's Leigh, offer of a beverage truce just floating in the air, going nowhere.
Getting ignored really gets under Leigh's skin. Back in the day, Matt's habit of brushing her off would drive her to the edge. She'd respond with over-the-top demands or twist things around just to make sure he’d always pay attention to her. She didn't start off wanting to be that person, but looking back, she sees the lengths she'd go to just to keep his attention from straying.
Unable to control herself, she heads straight for Jules, grabs her arm despite her trying to wiggle free, and yanks her into the backroom.
“What the hell is your problem?!” Jules explodes, not caring if anyone’s heard her outside.
They're both standing there, kind of shocked by how heated things got so fast. Jules’ shout might've turned a few heads outside, but right now, that's the least of Leigh's worries.
“How many times do I need to apologize, for you to get over this?”
Jules’ eyes are wide in disbelief, her mouth twisting into a sardonic smile, like she can’t believe what she’s hearing.
“You’re so fucking full of yourself, Leigh! This is exactly why I’m not talking to you,” Jules hisses, but keeps her voice down this time.
“What—”
“Do you even know what you’re sorry for?”
Leigh's initial scoff dies in her throat as she watches Jules' expression twist with hurt. “Yeah, okay, I said sorry about the crap I pulled the other day. I know I was out of line, talking about your past like that—”
Jules doesn't let her finish. “You weren't just being ‘out of line’, Leigh. You threw the worst time of my life in my face! Do you have any idea how hurtful that is? Coming from my own sister? From my own family? What, just to win an argument? To cover up for acting like a jerk at the club?”
Leigh goes quiet, but her face hardens, trying not to show how much Jules' words hit her right in the gut. What she said, laid out like that, it sounds…well, unforgivable.
“I'm trying, okay?” Leigh blurts out without thinking.
“Shouldn't be that hard to just be a decent human being, should it?” Jules shoots back, her dismissal sharp as she exits the cramped space, leaving Leigh reeling.
Under her breath, almost like she's talking to the walls, Leigh mumbles, “I'm really sorry…” It's quiet, almost lost in the room, but she means it the most at this very moment, even if no one's around to catch it.
-
Leigh clocks out from work, her day's fatigue hanging off her shoulders like a weighty cloak. Instead of heading straight home, she veers off her usual path, her feet bringing her to places that made breathing difficult the first few weeks after Matt's death. She's walking the same old route she always did when he was still around, back to when her home address was different and she'd pick up takeout from his favorite places along the way.
There’s the park first, the one where she and Matt spent countless afternoons sprawled on the grass, lying side by side as they watched the sky blush into shades of orange at sunset. She allows herself only a fleeting glance at the familiar paths and the bench they claimed theirs, feeling the same regret, the same hollowness as she remembers the good times they had there.
In the back of her mind, she can't shake off the worry that maybe you've been here too, making your own memories with him. She doesn’t feel the surge of anger at this thought however. Instead, a part of her is almost willing to share these sacred memories if it means holding onto him in any form. She wants to believe that her jealousy has faded into a quieter acceptance that others might also carry pieces of him, pieces she's learning to live with.
Pulling herself away from the park, Leigh's walk inevitably leads her past Matt's favorite Italian restaurant—a quaint, cozy place where they celebrated most of their birthdays and, on occasion, anniversaries, especially when neither felt like cooking (which became an increasingly common choice in the months leading up to his accident).
She remembers how Matt's face would light up at the prospect of their rich, creamy carbonara and the tiramisu he claimed was unrivaled in the city. She recalls the numerous times she attempted to recreate the restaurant's tiramisu at home, aiming to surprise Matt at least once a month. Despite her efforts, if she truly wanted to indulge him, she knew there was no substitute for the real thing. So, on special days, or whenever she felt an extra burst of affection, she'd stop by the restaurant on her way home, picking up takeout.
A waitress from the restaurant notices Leigh's lingering gaze and asks if she'd like a table. With a shy smile, Leigh declines, then pauses before finally deciding to order a tiramisu to go.
When she returns to her mom's house and eats the tiramisu alone, it tastes different.
Leigh can't decide if the difference in the tiramisu's taste is good or bad, but that doesn't stop her. She finishes the entire slice in minutes. But instead of feeling full, it makes her feel emptier. Perhaps, it’s not the flavor that's changed; it's the experience of eating it without Matt's enthusiastic commentary, without him lighting up at the first bite or playfully claiming the last one, despite his generous offer to let her have it.
Suddenly, tears just start pouring out of Leigh as she sits there with an empty plate. She didn't see it coming, no chance to stop it or shove it down. Then, she finds herself laughing—a deep, throaty laugh—because she's grieved for him in countless ways, but this, crying over a dessert, has to be the most absurd. It's exactly the kind of moment they would have laughed at together.
Deciding that that would be her dinner, Leigh cleans up the small mess she's made and considers the evening ahead. But just as she’s about to sink into the couch for a quiet night, her phone buzzes, making her jump.
Seeing your name flash on her screen, she sighs, sensing a familiar bitterness creeping back in, disrupting the soothing moments she had just spent reminiscing about Matt. She lets it ring a few times more before picking up.
“Hi, Y/N,” Leigh says, managing to keep her voice steady over the phone.
“Hey,” you start, unsure how to break the ice after everything. Especially with what you’re about to say next.
“Listen, something happened today at the clinic. Someone came in looking for their lost French Bulldog, and they had a picture,” you pause to breathe. “Leigh, it looks a lot like Visitor.”
On the other end of the line, you can practically hear Leigh's heart skip a beat.
“Hello?” you ask, checking to make sure she's still there after she doesn't respond for several seconds.
“Are you sure?” Leigh’s voice cracks slightly.
“Yeah, I'm pretty sure,” you say softly, feeling a surge of empathy. “I'm sending you the picture now. Check it out and tell me what you think.”
You hit send and then wait for Leigh’s confirmation.
“It's him. It's definitely Visitor,” she says a moment later.
You're relieved but also concerned about what comes next. “So, what are you going to do?”
Leigh hesitates, and when she speaks again, she doesn’t give a direct answer. “Thank you, Y/N,” she says, and you pick up something in her tone. Something somber.
“Everything alright?”
But the line's already dead, leaving you staring at your phone, wondering what she is up to.
-
Leigh stands outside the community center, her hand lingering on the door longer than usual.  It's been weeks since she last came to a session. First, there was the shock of uncovering Matt's darkest secret, and now, there's the issue of the man inside, already looking her way, waiting to see her next move.
Danny appearing at her doorstep earlier in the week caught her completely off guard—and not in a good way. The moment she realized it was him, Leigh didn't hesitate to close the door in his face. After she shut him out, it escalated to the point where she threatened to call the police because he wouldn't stop pounding on the door and shouting for Leigh to let him in, insisting he just wanted to talk. His last attempt to get through to her fell flat when he flooded her inbox with texts and missed calls, pushing Leigh to the point where she blocked his number for good.
Despite the problem of Danny being here tonight, Leigh isn't willing to walk away from this just because of him. She's already given up so much lately, most recently Visitor—or Chico, as she found out his real name was—and his absence carved a fresh ache in her heart that she hadn't seen coming.
So, she takes a deep breath and pushes the door open, ignoring the smirk on Danny’s face as she proceeds to pretend like he doesn’t exist.
-
Somehow, after the meeting, Leigh ends up saying yes to a quick chat with Danny. He reels her in with the news that he submitted Matt’s remaining works—which he got custody of—to his publisher, and they were keen to publish them posthumously.
Leigh can't help but throw in a bit of shade. “That's nice of you, doing something good for your brother, even if it's a bit late.”
Danny's face drops a little. Her words were sharp enough to hurt him, but he doesn't bite back or get in her face about it, which totally throws Leigh for a loop. After all the time she'd spent ignoring him, she had expected him to be at his worst around her.
And then he surprises her even more when he says, “Let me give you a ride home? It's the least I can do…”
Leigh arches an eyebrow. She didn’t bring the car tonight because Jules had a thing with Tommy, and she didn’t want to give her sister another reason to resent her. A ride from Danny beats the alternatives of walking or shelling out for a pricey cab, especially now that her phone's battery has given out, nixing the option of booking an Uber.
But this is Danny. Matt’s brother, and the guy she hooked up with because she thought she’d get back some semblance of her dead husband. After Jules pointed out how messed up it was that they'd slept together, Leigh's been all over the place. The rules around what they were doing either turned her off or, weirdly enough, made the whole thing more enticing, taboo and all. That's a big part of why she's been steering clear of him. Hanging out with Danny feels like reaching for a cigarette long after she's sworn off smoking.
Even with all that swirling in her head, Leigh ends up saying, “Sure, why not?”
Before she knows it, she's also agreeing to a drink at his place.
-
The second they step into his apartment, something inside of Leigh snaps. Acting on impulse, she grabs Danny by the collar and kisses him fiercely. She clenches his shirt in her hands, practically tearing it in her grip. Danny's initial surprise melts away in seconds, and then he’s kissing her just as hard, his tongue prying open her lips, taking control of the kiss right away. His hands find her waits, pulling her closer, practically already half-lifting her against the wall.
Leigh, caught up in the moment, begins to move her hips in a rocking motion against him. The action is effective enough to distract him from where he’s kissing every inch of Leigh’s neck, and he retaliates by suddenly pressing her more firmly against the wall, pinning her with his hips, their chests are tightly pressed together.
But as Leigh's fingers begin to fumble with the button of Danny's pants, he catches her hands gently and, panting, says, “Wait, Leigh, hold on for just a sec.”
Leigh’s eyes fly open at his voice, irritation and impatience coloring them. “What?” she gasps out.
He ignores the hard edges of her tone. He wants more—something real—and he's hoping she does too.
“I can’t do this again unless I know it’s going somewhere,” Danny says. He gently lets go of Leigh and takes a step back, trying to collect himself. It's a tough task, though, with Leigh looking the way she does—hair all tousled, lips slightly swollen and marked from when he got a bit carried away, her cheeks tinged with a warm flush. He could’ve made her come in the next two minutes, he’s sure of it.
At Danny's confession, Leigh can't help it; she bursts into laughter. The idea of him catching feelings now, of all times, seems absurd to her. As she laughs, Danny's jaw tightens, but he waits patiently for her to finish.
When Leigh finally notices the seriousness etched across Danny's face, her amusement evaporates almost instantly. The realization that he's not joking strikes her, and it doesn't sit well. Not one bit.
“What, you think because your brother's gone, you get to... what? Step in? Take his place?” she spits out, incredulous. “This is never going to be anything more than a quick fuck, Danny.”
In his desperation, he calls her bluff. “You’re lying.”
Leigh's reaction morphs into a cruel sneer. “If you're going to insist on something more, then we're just wasting our time,” she mutters, turning to leave.
Danny's not ready to let her walk away, not yet. He grabs her arm, and for a second, they're just staring each other down, a silent battle raging between them. Leigh’s resolve is impenetrable.
It’s Danny who cracks first, exhaling a defeated, “Fine.”
But Leigh's not having any half-measures. She whirls around, fire in her eyes. “Nope. Say it properly,” she demands.
With a sigh that feels like he's giving away a part of himself, Danny looks at her, worn and resigned. “This doesn't have to mean anything,” he says even if it’s the last thing he wants.
Leigh locks eyes with him, a storm brewing in her look. Just when Danny thinks it's better to just drop it, she throws him a question out of nowhere.
“Did you know?”
“Know what?” Danny asks, genuinely puzzled.
“About Matt and me... trying for a baby when he... you know.”
“He... he never mentioned anything like that,” he says, feeling the pain she’s radiating. Leigh looks like she’s about to fall apart and all he wants is to be the one to gather her pieces and put them all back together.
No more words follow from Leigh. It's as if the question drained what was left of the conversation. Without warning, she surges forward, her lips meeting Danny’s in a bruising kiss, then she grabs Danny's hands, placing them firmly back on her waist. He gets the message loud and clear, and together they quickly shed their clothes, letting them fall in a heap around their feet. She comes about twelve minutes and thirty seconds later.
-
It's been eight days—not that you're keeping track or anything. But after giving Leigh the heads-up that someone’s been looking for a dog that looks exactly like Visitor, you were kind of expecting she’d at least update you if it really was him or not.
So, when a client strolls in later with Visitor, who's actually called Chico according to the file your secretary slips you, you're a little disappointed it's not Leigh showing up instead. It must have been incredibly tough for her to return Chico to his real family. She invested her heart, time, and not to mention her wallet, into that dog, caring for him as if he were her own.
Thinking she’d be relieved to know he’s in good hands, you send her a text to update her about Chico's visit to the clinic today. You mention how healthy and content he seems, yet you hazard a guess that he's probably missing Leigh too.
She sees your message right away, and then leaves you on read.
-
Her thing with Danny turns into a late-night ritual, particularly after Drew fails to respond to her following their conversation, not even offering her a guest column in the weeks that followed their talk. Drew continues to invite her for coffee and dinner dates along with his fiancée, but he avoids the topic about the column, so Leigh stops asking.
The hookups are always a post-midnight impulse. She’d find herself sneaking out of her mother's house to meet him, driven by a mix of need and escape, or occasionally, by insomnia. After their moments together, she never lingers in Danny's bed for too long once she's found her satisfaction, eager to shower away his scent from her skin.
Back at home, she ensures there's no trace of their deed by the time she slips into bed, allowing herself to sleep deep into the middle of the day. This pattern of nocturnal activity and daytime slumber has led her mother to adjust Leigh's responsibilities, moving her to take charge of the afternoon classes instead. This behavior earns her suspicious glances from Jules, but Leigh chooses to ignore them—if Jules isn't interested in reconciling, then she has no right to concern herself with Leigh's personal affairs.
Leigh doesn’t know how she got here, back at the beginning, in an ever messier situation. She can't stop fucking Danny, her emotions for Matt are a rollercoaster—she finds herself forgiving him and cursing him interchangeably a couple of times a day.
She's astounded this is her life now, seemingly unable to talk herself out of decisions that pull her deeper into chaos.
-
A month later, Leigh becomes a distant memory. Following a series of tumultuous encounters, your life gradually returns to its normal rhythm—quiet, ordinary days filled with clinic work, attending to various cases, meeting new clients, and addressing the myriad issues of small animals. All of these tasks prove easier to deal with than anything involving Leigh Shaw.
The sole noteworthy event in your generally uneventful life lately was your latest visit to a physician for an annual physical exam. The blood tests revealed some numbers outside the normal range, notably elevated cholesterol levels. Consequently, your doctor advised you to integrate exercise into your daily regimen and to reduce your consumption of takeout meals, specifically pizza and Chinese fast food.
It’s a big sacrifice, considering your day usually flies by without much thought for food, except for dinner. It’s the one time in your day you actually look forward to. So, to hold onto that bit of happiness, you've been looking at fitness classes that are actually enjoyable and help burn those extra calories to keep you in shape.
Yoga stands out as the top choice for you, mainly because it all unfolds on a mat. You assume it'll demand the least amount of effort compared to the other options (specifically spinning), which all seem to promise nothing but pain and suffering.
Deciding to give yoga a shot, you choose Beautiful Beast, swayed by its stellar reviews. You secure a slot for a 6pm class, feeling pretty good about this decision.
That is, until Leigh Shaw walks into the said class, clad in a sports bra and tight-fitting leggings that highlight her toned legs. She’s busy on her phone, and without looking up, she walks to the front of the room.
What are the chances you'd both be in the same class at the same fitness studio? The plot thickens when she pockets her phone and turns to face the class, gesturing for everyone to get their mats ready as the session's about to start.
You swallow hard. Leigh isn't here as a joiner—she's running it.
It takes about a quarter of the session for Leigh to notice you’re in her class. It's only while she's making her rounds, observing each student's camel pose, that her gaze finally lands on you. Struggling through your lack of core strength, you can't quite catch her initial reaction, but then she calls out your name. The surprise makes you gasp as she places her hand on the curve of your spine, just above the small of your back, and gently pushes you upward, deepening your arch.
The stretch draws a grimace from you, but then she says, “Good, that's it,” and suddenly, you're determined not to let her down. You focus on the pose, on Leigh's instructions, and on not falling apart under her watchful eye. Leigh keeps everyone in the position a few moments longer than expected before instructing the class to transition into the child's pose for recovery. At her cue, your arms collapse, and you find yourself breathing heavily, grateful for the brief respite.
Something tells you it's not the high cholesterol that's going to be the end of you, but rather this yoga class and Leigh's merciless teaching style.
-
You're all packed up and ready to leave, still reeling from what could easily be the toughest hour of your life, when someone calls out to you.
“Hey, Y/N.”
It's Leigh. Her tone is softer, more fatigued than you remember. She’s still in her gym clothes, looking like the workout barely touched her except for a few strands of hair sticking to her forehead. And somehow, she smells more like a rose garden than the gym floor.
“I didn’t know you work here—” you blurt out, almost apologizing. But before you can add anything else, Leigh just shakes her head, something like amusement in her smile, stopping you mid-sentence. Her smile, warm and a little teasing, eases some of the tension you didn't realize you were holding.
“Are you a mind reader or something?” she teases. “Cause yeah, I was going to ask if you were following me.”
You’re quick to deny it. “I wasn’t.”
Leigh lets out a chuckle like she's getting a kick out of seeing you on edge. You shuffle your feet, still unsure if she’s trying to scare you off or welcome you to her tutelage.
“Look, if it's weird for you, me being here... I can find another class,” you offer, the words tumbling out before you can think them through.
Her reaction is swift and a bit surprising, “Why would I want that? So you can duck out and be a rubbish yogi elsewhere and ruin my reputation?”
You’re taken aback by her response. Clearly, Leigh's not pushing you away; it's almost as if she's egging you on, daring you to stick it out. And if there's any hope of moving past this... whatever it is, leaving now because it might get awkward doesn't seem like the right move to make a fresh start.
“All right, I'll stay,” you find yourself saying, more to your surprise than hers.
Leigh's got this look of triumph, chin lifted just so, when you agree to stick around. “See you at 5:30. Greenway Park,” she throws out casually.
You're there blinking, trying to piece together what she means. But before you can even get a word out, she's one step ahead.
“We have to work on your endurance,” she clarifies. “Make sure you’re wearing real running shoes. No sneakers.”

stiles stilinski: breakable heaven; pt 2, "it's new, the shape of your body. it's blue, the feeling i've got."
description: situationship x stiles stilinksi.
Tumblr media
"so, you didn't even fuck him?" danny leaned forward in his desk, whispering pathetically to y/n, who was seated in front of him.
stacking her textbooks onto her desk, y/n twisted around to face her friend. "sh!" she looked around with paranoia, hoping no one heard danny's loud mouth. she rolled her eyes back towards danny, "quiet down, idiot. no, we didn't fuck."
"why?!" danny groaned, planting his forehead in his hands, "you had the perfect opportunity!"
y/n shrugged, "i just wasn't ready. i still barely know the guy."
"you don't need to know his favorite color to have sex with him. it's supposed to be casual, remember?" danny reminded.
twisted around to face danny still, she crossed her arms over the curve of the top of the chair, "i know, i know. but, ugh, i don't know. i just want to know a little bit."
he replied, "just a little bit, though. you don't want to get too attached."
"yeah, no, of course," y/n trailed off, focusing her attention back to the front of the room as the teacher demanded the students' to listen.
y/n pulled her phone from her pocket as it buzzed. underneath her desk, she responded to stiles' text.
stiles stilinski: nah, literally. i understand the books weren't finished, but they didn't have to end the show the way they did.
y/n: i kinda liked how dany went off the rails, but it was way out of her character development. i'll have to text you later, class is starting, and i'll be busy the rest of the day. see ya!
stiles stilinski: no problemo, have a lovely day!
y/n quickly shoved her phone into the side pocket of her bookbag. she sat up in her seat, doodled across the top of her notebook with a new pen, and attempted to focus her eyes on the chalkboard as the teacher wrote out the lesson title.
but her mind was focused elsewhere.
"y/n," stiles moaned against her lips as his body pushed up against hers.
she grasped at the hairs curled at the nape of his neck, giggling slightly at his neediness. "yeah?"
stiles sighed, exasperatedly, "you're...so...pretty."
y/n grinned, interrupting their kissing. stiles pulled his head back slightly, "what? did i do something wrong?"
she shook her head, meeting his brown eyes, softer in the dim lighting. "no, you're perfect.”
stiles had drove her home after the hangout at danny's. he insisted on listening to taylor swift and continued to intently ask her questions about anything and everything.
when he dropped her off, he waited at the curb, jeep idling, until he saw he safely enter her house. it made her heart skip a beat.
then, when she closed the door, reality came crashing back down.
y/n showered, went to bed. she was coming off of her high, and she was remembering all of the awful details of the past summer. stiles became an afterthought.
she made the mistake of looking at a few photos in her phone. missed stiles’ text telling her he got home safely.
she texted him when she woke up. he immediately replied, assuring her it was okay for her late response. he made one comment on something insanely random, but they delved into a conversation about it.
it got cut short, as it was saturday, and y/n had to go straight to work. it was insanely busy i’m the restaurant she waitressed at, so y/n didn't get a chance to check her phone all day. she hoped, though, that stiles would text her. of course, she hoped sam would, too. but that was always a hope a heartbroken person carried, right?
even if they knew, logically, it made no sense. it wasn’t right.
stiles, he did message her. they continued to text, back and forth, all weekend long.
y/n didn’t agree that casual sex needed to exclude any and all forms of friendliness. the only thing that needed to be removed from the situation was feelings, beyond anything amiable. and that was easy as pie.
after class, y/n had a free period. and that was the last class of the day. so, she dumped some of her books off at her locker, and decided to head home for the day.
on her way out to her car, she texted stiles back.
y/n: how’s your day going?
he didn’t respond right away, which he normally did. but, she knew he was in english, and the new teacher was pretty strict about phone usage.
y/n opened the driver’s side door, tossed her book bag in, and went to slip into her seat when she heard her name being called. she looked to her left and saw stiles jogging across the parking lot.
y/n furrowed her brows, tilted her head, “shouldn’t you be in english?”
stiles came to a halt before her, hands on his hips, “what? oh, um-“ he looked behind him, as if the answer lied towards the lacrosse field, “i got let out early?”
that sounded like a question. “hm,” y/n smiled slightly, “you’re skipping class.”
“oh, you’re one to judge,” he shot back, “what’re you doing right now?”
“going home. i have a free period!” y/n defended, motioning back to the school building.
“mhm,” stiles nodded, “sure.”
y/n stared at him for a moment. she lifted her phone up, “i just texted you, by the way.”
stiles pulled his phone out of his jacket pocket, “oh, oh, here…” he typed out his response, and clicked send, proudly.
y/n smiled appreciatively, “i’m eager to hear your response to my riveting question. anyways, if you’re gonna skip class, do you think it’s a good idea to hang out in the parking lot?”
stiles leaned against the car beside y/n, “oh, probably not.” he looked like there was something else going on, and there was. y/n just didn’t know about all of the supernatural threats surrounding the school on any given basis. “but, i saw you and wanted to ask…”
“what’s up?” she stood up, eager.
stiles rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous tick, y/n noticed. “are you free tomorrow night?”
y/n nodded, probably too quick to respond, “yeah, absolutely.”
“okay, cool,” stiles pursed his lips. a beat of silence passed, and y/n tilted her head, encouraging him to continue. “oh, well, maybe i can finally meet your dog?”
“smooth,” y/n poked his shoulder, “text me when you’re leaving school. i’ll send you my address.”
stiles grinned, “really? cool, cool. i’ll- see you then.”
y/n climbed into her car, and stiles closed the driver’s door for her. she waved before pulling out of the parking lot.
stiles fist pumped the air.
he met back up with scott, allison, and isaac by his jeep. they were skipping class because the alpha pack in town was causing a load of harmful trouble. just another chapter in the book of the supernatural.
“what was that about?” scott asked, secretly for his friend.
stiles, pretending to be casual about the situation, placed his hands on his hips, shrugged. “nah, nothing. just made plans to chill tomorrow night. no big deal.”
scott didn’t want to pressure his friend. he simply nodded, smiling kindly. “sounds good.”
stiles shrugged, again, though scott could see right through him.
he could see right through his sarcastic, solid exterior, straight to the scared teenage boy with the giant heart he wore just under his sleeve.
and he knew, already, things were gonna get messy.
y/n took an everything shower when she got home at her free period. and, by everything- she did everything. shaved, exfoliated, scrubbed every pore on her skin, wrapped her body in masks, conditioners, body washes, hair treatments, a teeth whitening kit. everything.
she tried to present her makeup and hair casually, but y/n still put enough effort into both to make herself look better than average. she was dressed and ready to go as soon as stiles messaged her that he was leaving school. she replied with her address, and proceeded to pace the length of the front room of her house until he arrived.
y/n’s dog started barking, in response to a short knock from the front door. she shushed winnie, who was up in arms about the person outside; ears perked up, eyes alert. all german Shepard, guard dog-esque. y/n patted winnie’s head, calming her slightly, before unlocking and opening the door.
stiles stood there, posture hunched slightly, in jeans and his usual t-shirt combo. his palm was cupped in front of his mouth, as though he was smelling his breath. he met y/n’s eyes, coughed awkwardly, and quickly wiped his hands on his thighs.
“oh,” he cleared his throat, again, “sorry. uh- hi. sorry. just- smelling my breath!” stiles cringed at his own words and glanced at his feet. he scratched the back of his neck.
y/n giggled, “oh, my goodness. just come in.”
she stepped aside, motioning him into the house. winnie took this moment to run up to stiles, panting like she’d run a marathon. stiles responded with excitement, ushering the old girl inside while patting her fur and gushing with baby talk.
“oh, you’re so cute- oh, yes you are, yes, you are. you are gorgeous, sweet girl,” stiles crouched to winnie’s level. “this is winnie, right?”
y/n nodded appreciatively. he listened to her when she talked. “yep. she’s very happy to meet you.”
“i’m very happy to meet her- oh, yes, i am!” stiles accepted the kisses winnie offered.
“now you’re breath might smell!” y/n laughed, gently pushing winnie’s face from stiles’ mouth.
stiles stood back up straight, though winnie continued to nudge him with her snout.
“you can take your shoes off,” y/n instructed. stiles followed suit, kicking his converse off towards the side, with the other shoes.
stiles moved further into the house, peering around the corner, into the living room, then on the other side, into the kitchen. “are…your parents home?”
y/n met his eyes and smiled gently. “no,” she shook her head. “they’re out of town this week.”
“so, you’re all alone? in this giant house?” stiles walked through the kitchen. outside the big picture windows was nothing but woods. she lived only a few minutes from school, but, “in the middle of…nowhere?”
y/n giggled, again, looking out the window, too, “yeah. i used to be scared, but you get over it. they’re out of town a lot.”
she didn’t know why stiles became worrisome. she didn’t really notice the creases deepen in his forehead, or the constant thought that would now exist in his mind. she didn’t know about the supernatural. she didn’t know of the massive threat looming right over her throat every single day.
“that’s…” stiles met her eye. she frowned slightly because he looked freaked out. he covered up his concern, “you should throw a party. yeah, that would be sick.“
she shrugged, “yeah, maybe. i don’t know, that’s a lot of work. i’d be stressed the whole time. wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself cause i’d be worried about people fucking up the house.
“well, that’s why you have me. i can co-host. we can worry together,” stiles nudged her with his elbow.
she looked up at him, shoulder brushing his, goofy grin on her face. “okay, yeah…i’ll take you up on that offer sometime. maybe next weekend. after the game?”
stiles gave her a thumbs up, “nothing better than getting shit faced after being hit with lacrosse sticks for three hours.”
y/n laughed, loudly. she wrapped her hand around stiles shoulder, leaning in as the noise rang from her throat. people were usually sick of his sarcasm after being around him longer than 24 hours. she seemed ever-appreciative of it. his bareskin tingled beneath her fingers. he sweat a little, breathed a little heavier.
feeling no sense of self control, stiles grabbed her by the hips, pushed his lips up against hers. he pressed her back up against the kitchen island, nearly tossing them both to the floor from his rush. she yelped, slightly. but she managed to balance herself, squeezed her eyes shut, and wrapped her fingers up in his hair.
they continued moving against each other, lips sloppy together. stiles had little to no experience, save for the few times he had made out with a girl. but, his expertise ended there. he’d, obviously, read- watched- a lot about that. there were a few tricks he’d been keeping up his sleeve. and this was finally his moment.
he situated his hands back on her hips, as they’d wandered up her torso. using all of his strength, stiles lifted y/n up onto the kitchen counter. she gasped, surprised by his muscle. she met his eyes, pupils blown out, mouth swollen, hair in disarray. once she was situated on top, stiles moved back in for her lips.
y/n fought the smile crawling out of her mouth. she focused on his shoulders, his arms, his chest. she reached the bottom of his shirt and began to slowly, painfully, pull it over his head. stiles quickly helped her toss it across the kitchen.
his lips aimed for her, but she took the upper-hand by steadying his shoulders. she first kissed the nape of his neck, which caused his breathing to completely shorten. she smiled as she felt his heart thump against his throat. as y/n nipped her way up and down his neck, rolled his ear lobe between her teeth, stiles moved his hands back to her body.
every once and a while, he’d shudder under her touch, let out a little breathless moan. at the same time, his fingers would clench whatever piece of skin he was touching. at first, her hips, then her sides, then her breasts. she moaned at this accidental movement, and stiles smiled to himself.
stiles gently pulled her shirt up and off. she dropped her head back to his neck, intending to continue her battle there. but, stiles cupped either one of her breasts in his hand, gently squeezing again. he felt goosebumps tickle all up and down her skin, and saw them rise on the curve of her breasts. he didn’t know where his confidence was coming from, but he leaned forward, and kissed the hills on her skin.
y/n’s forehead dropped to stiles’ shoulder, sweet sounds escaping her lips. he delicately swept his fingers around the edge of her bra, to the back, where the clasp was. before he could try to undo it, y/n pulled back. the way she looked at him- stiles swore he could fall apart from that gaze.
“as much as i’m enjoying this, i’d rather not fuck on my kitchen counter,” y/n steadied her hands on his shoulders.
stiles grinned, stepped back, helped her land on the floor, on her feet. before she could move past him, stiles dipped his head low, grabbed her jaw between his hand, and kissed her fiercely. y/n’s knees knocked together.
and she led him to her room.
when he left, y/n showered, again. she was sweaty, and he lingered on her skin like frostbite. showers always made her feelings irrepressible, like they were being sucked out of her lungs by the water.
she cried.
and it wasn’t befause stiles was terrible at sex. no, he was good. he’d made her feel good. he drew movement from her she didn’t know was possible.
it was everything else.
it was sam. it was the endless summer she had felt come to a stubborn, painful close. it was the ugly feeling he had left lingering on her skin.
she didn’t she’d ever get over it- him. he’d be etched into her like stretch marks. he pulled her apart, stretched her thin, and punched holes everywhere he could. left a brutal, bruising mark.
all because he was too scared to try.
she wanted to call danny afterwards, to tell him all about. to ask for solace from him in her confusing heartbreak. but, it felt too burdening.
stiles texted her when he got home, shortly after she got out of the shower. she thanked him, she didn’t know why, but she thanked him. she was grateful. he made her feel worthy. hell, he’d spent half the time in her sheets worshipping and praising her body, her lips, at her hips like an altar.
it was almost overwhelming. but it felt good. he felt good. everywhere.
he thanked her back with some witty, thoughtful message. she wanted to text back, but a conversation felt like too much right now. she needed to rest her weary heart.
besides, this was all casual…right? she wasn’t obligated to text him back. it didn’t matter if she did. she didn’t care if she did.
right?
“and then what happened?” danny slammed his hands down on the table between them, leaning his face close to y/n’s.
the smack of his palms resounded throughout the library, garnering hushes from the independent study instructor, and glares from the other students. y/n looked around, embarrassed, before shoving danny’s face away with her own hand.
“shut up!” y/n shushed him herself. “don’t have to tell the whole school how i fucked stiles stilinksi!”
she said it in a whisper, but danny still heard it. he cheered, loudly, jumping up and out of his seat. y/n stood, too, grabbing his biceps and trying to calm him down. she shot apologetic glances to her fellow classmates. coach blew his whistle, causing danny and y/n to whip their heads his way.
“that’s it! if you can’t study independently, you can’t study at all! get out, go home, go to the alley by the gas station and buy drugs, i don’t care! just don’t stay here!”
he ushered them out the door, and they barely managed to grab their things before the library was shut tightly behind them. y/n smacked danny across the chest, but he barely winced.
she pumped her legs, hard, moving down the hall away from him. danny followed, quick, singing, “she just had sex! y/n finally had sex!”
stopped at her locker, y/n rolled her eyes, and tried to quiet danny down. “literally- danny! i won’t tell you anything if you don’t shut the fuck up! please!”
danny groaned and leaned up against the locker. nevertheless, he shut the fuck up. “please tell me more before i combust!”
y/n waved him off as she shoved some books into her locker. “we had sex. it was good- like, really, weirdly, mysteriously good.” she emphasized the word, shooting danny a confused look.
his jaw was dropped, “be for real. right now. no way- stilinksi? stiles stilinksi?”
y/n nodded with a look of surprised assurance. “i know. and- like, sure, he’s not at all experienced. but, he somehow knew what to do. plus- oh, my god…” y/n trailed off, gesturing to the floor with head, her eyes widened.
danny’s mouth opened further, if at all possible, “no fucking way! no way. i refuse to- how big?”
he put his hands out beside each other in the air, about three inches apart. y/n shook her head, offended. he opened the space further, until y/n nodded, smirking.
danny slapped a palm over his mouth, “holy fuck! stiles stilinksi-“ he said, shocked, before he repeated, “stiles stilinksi,” impressed.
“i know,” y/n shrugged. she shut her locker.
danny began walking towards the exit, y/n falling in step beside him. “you lucky bitch. so, do you think it’ll be a regular thing? are you gonna do it- him- again?”
danny held the door open for her. she stepped through with a shrug. “i would fucking love to. but, i don’t know. he hasn’t said anything since. we’ve just been texting about other shit.”
“like, what?” danny inquired.
y/n pulled out her phone, where a fresh, unread text from stiles sat patient. “like, right now, we’re discussing his favorite band. music, in general, i guess.”
danny scoffed, “be for real.”
“bitch,” y/n shoved him, “what?”
“discussing music,” he tsked his tongue. “that’s how it always starts. before you know it, you’re married in the burbs with a baby and a dog.”
“shut up,” y/n shoved her phone back into her pocket, self conscious about responding, now. “you know i don’t want that. i’m not interested in dating. i’m moving away in less than a year and- and…”
she trailed off, but danny knew what her distant look meant. “sam,” he filled in the gap. “i know,” he touched her arm lovingly.
y/n looked up at him with her sad, puppy dog eyes. “fucking- ugh. i hate him.”
“i know, babe,” danny comforted. “at least you don’t have to see him. at least he’s off at college.”
“it’s sad, though,” she opened her car door and dumped her backpack inside. leaned up against the side of the vehicle, she elaborated, “i saw him almost every single day, over the summer. and then he just- i don’t know.”
“tells you he loves you while breaking up with you? i do know. he’s a fucking pussy. and you deserve better. he was manipulative as fuck, anyways,” danny waved off the issue at hand. “i don’t know, just…i don’t know. stiles is weird. i don’t really know him that well. he doesn’t seem like he’d fuck you over, but it’s just that tricky line of friends with benefits. it almost always leads to someone getting hurt.”
y/n picked at a piece of dirt on the side of her car, focused on danny’s words. “i think we’re both smart enough that we won’t let that happen. we both know what we want from each other- sex. strictly. nothing else. it’s black and white.”
“oh, love,” danny patted her shoulder, “nothing is ever black and white.”
danny bid farewell, hugging his friend tightly, with a saddened gaze shot her way. she was distant, stuck in her head, thinking over her words.
it didn’t matter. it really didn’t. she didn’t want anything from stiles, but sex. she didn’t want an attachment. so, she simply wouldn’t form one.
it didn’t matter if they were discussing music. it didn’t matter if she knew what made his cheeks crinkle into a smile. it didn’t matter if she was learning his favorite colors depended on the seasons, or that his dad was his role model. it didn’t matter.
she had boundaries, and she could keep them.
she could.
couldn’t she?

pairing: y/n and chris sturniolo
summary: you and chris came from two different sides of the spectrum when it came to the social scale. You had the perfect life, the perfect boyfriend, the perfect parents, but when you start to peal back that layers things got messy. Your life was set and stone, your future was set and stone. That was until he comes and changes everything.
warnings: suggestive, mentions of sex, mentions of cheating, family drama, panic attack (mellow nothing major)
I pushed open the door to the coffee shop before I saw my dad in one of the corner tables. I smiled and his eyes shot over to mine. A smile came to his face before he stood up from his seat.
I moved on my feet until I reached him.
"Hi" His voice sang before his arms came around me. I hugged him back and let go of a breath. He let me go and moved his hands down my shoulders.
"You came" He smiled as he looked down hopefully at me. I nodded, letting out a breath. "Yeah sorry. I was just going to make sure Chris got on the plane okay before I came. I would have texted but--" I paused.
But I don't even have your number.
He shook his head. "No you're completely fine. Please sit" He motioned to the chair. I smiled before I sat down and he came along with me.
We had agreed that every Friday we were going to try and see each other. I still hadn't told my mom I was seeing him. I didn't know how. How do I even bring that up? She had to expect that I wanted to meet my dad.
"How are you feeling about that? Are you doing okay?" He asked as we settled into our seats. I glanced up at him from the mention on how I was feeling about Chris flying to Boston. I swallowed.
"A little nervous" I mumbled. He nodded as he picked up the coffee mug placed in front of him. "Nate is a little nervous about it too" James said looking at me. I just looked at him. "He didn't tell me that, but I can tell from the way he talks about it. He doesn't want Chris to leave either" He said. I nodded and clasped my hands together.
"I can understand that. Him and Chris are close" I said. James nodded before smiling. "He protective over his things. I used to think Nate had a crush on Chris before you told me you were seeing him, then it made sense why Nate was acting weird" James chuckled, making me smile and shake my head.
"Nate is very protective over his things" I agreed, looking down. James sighed and set down his cup. Silence came between us, and I felt guilty about this all over again.
Wondering if he was hiding the fact that he was seeing me from Nate, the fact that I'm hiding this from my mother's knowledge. I swallowed.
"Can I get you something to drink sweetie?" The waitress's voice rang. I looked up, almost happy she interrupted my thoughts. I smiled up at her and nodded. "Just coffee, black please" I replied. Her eyebrows raised.
"No sugar or cream?" She asked. I shook my head. She nodded before walking away. I looked up at James. He smiled. "I'm impressed. But you're too young to be drinking cofffee" He shook his head jokingly. I rolled my eyes.
"I'm 18, I just turned 18-"
"Three weeks ago"
I looked up at him. His smiled flattened and he swallowed looking back down at the table. I played with the bracelets against my wrists. My eyes traced over to the third seat placed next to us.
"Is there someone joining us?" I joked. He opened his mouth to speak before the bells of the coffee shops jingled and I turned my head and so did James. Nate walked through the door and looked around before his eyes landed on mine.
His face hardened before he glanced over to his father. I looked at James who started to stand up, throwing his napkin on the table.
"I'm sorry just--" James said looking at me and then to Nate. The bells jingled again and I turned to see Nate now exiting the coffee shop. James let out a breath before starting to walk towards the door.
"Give me one moment" He said quickly before he walked towards the door pulling it open. I swallowed and slumped back in my seat. I didn't appreciate the fact that he had set us both up, but he was trying at least. It was more than my parents ever did.
I swallowed the nerves beading in my throat and turned and looked out the glass windows seeing Nate and James talking. Well Nate was yelling, James was talking. Nate shook his head and yelled something I couldn't hear from here, on the other side of the window. James's face hardened as he spoke calmly to Nate.
Nate shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest. James spoke some more and stared angrily at his son before pointing towards the door of the coffee shop. I turned away.
I hated the way this made me feel. Unwelcome, unwanted.
"Here you go" The chippy voice of the waitress brought me out of my thoughts as she set down the coffee mug. I smiled fakely at her before I heard the bells chime again. I turned my head before seeing James walk in and a very unhappy Nate sulking behind him as they made their way to the table.
James smiled down at me and Nate moved around him and sat in the chair next to mine, while James sat down across from me.
"My apologizes for him" James looked at his son. Nate turned his head and looked out the window. "No it's okay, I just wasn't expecting...any more company" I breathed looking at Nate. Nate glared at me.
"Yeah me either" Nate said blankly. I swallowed and looked down at my lap. This got awkward and hurtful fast.
"How's school going Y/n? You graduate next year" James smiled, attempting to shift past the awkward tension. I lifted my head. "Fine" I smiled at him. "My grades are okay, they've been better. I've just had a lot....going on" I mumbled shaking my head.
Nate scoffed next to me. James snapped his head to him. Nate rolled his eyes. I cleared my throat. "How's hockey going?" I breathed turning to Nate. He looked up at me from his fixated gaze on the table.
An olive branch, maybe that's all he needed.
He raised his eyebrows. "Do you even know anything about hockey?" He scoffed staring at me. I opened my mouth and blinked.
I knew a lot about hockey, it's all Max talked about.
"Yes" I stated looking at him. He leaned up in his seat. "Oh yeah. I forgot that your boyfriend, that you consistently fucked the same time as Chris, was on the team" He snapped staring at me.
My face turned blood red.
"Nathan Doe" James's voice snapped.
The waitress came back up.
"Are you guys ready to order?" She smiled brightly down at us. I felt like I was going to throw up. I slumped in my seat and buried my head in the menu. How does someone disappear? Because I've never wanted to do anything more.
Nate flicked the menu open and scanned it. "I'll have the waffles with extra whip cream" He stated as if he didn't just tell my father that I had sex with two people at the same time. It wasn't even true.
James's glare didn't lighten as Nate set down the menu and smiled at me. I let out a breath. I could feel the redness on my neck. The waitress looked over at me.
"I-I have to use the restroom" I snapped the menu down and scrambled from my seat and darted towards the bathroom. I closed the door and leaned against the wall, pressing my hands over my face trying to breathe.
I can't do this.
Just catch your breathe. I leaned over the sink. I was going to puke. I looked up. "You're fine. You're fine" I whispered shaking my head. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. Distraction.
Chris
I let go of a breathe before swiping it open and pressing it to my ear. "Hey" He said through the phone. "Hi" I breathed.
"What's wrong?" He asked immediately. I swallowed and closed my eyes. "Nothing i'm fine" I lied shaking my head. Silence for a second. "You're either panicking or you just found a new love for cardio" He stated blankly. I sighed and leaned over.
"I'm at brunch with James and he sprung Nate's presence on me" I swallowed. Chris sighed over the phone. "Are you okay?" He asked softly. I closed my eyes and swallowed.
"As well as you can imagine" I breathed. "Just breathe okay? You're not hiding in the bathroom are you?" He asked. I pinched the bridge of my nose. "No of course not" I lied.
"Y/n"
"Maybe?" I whispered. "Y/n, go back out there" He said. I sighed. "I can't. He hates me" I felt a lump in my throat. "He doesn't hate you. He's hurt. There's a difference between hurt and hate" He stated. I swallowed. "Doesn't seem like much of a difference" I whispered.
I heard cars flying by on the other end of the phone. "Listen--I have to go, I just stepped outside of the airport. Can I call you later tonight?" He asked softly. I licked my lips.
"Yeah. Did they flight go okay? Everything go good?" Another round of panic hit me. "The guy next to me ate 3 bags of Cheetos the entire flight, so now I have Cheeto dust all over me. Other than that everything's okay" He chuckled. I smiled and nodded.
"Good" I breathed. "Okay--I see my dad. I gotta go. I love you"
"I love you" I whispered.
"I'll call you tonight"
The line went dead.
I looked in the mirror. You can do this. Don't let him know he got to you. Walk back out there with confidence. I turned and pressed my shaky hand against the door handle. I don't have confidence.
I pushed the door back open before walking back over to the table. I sighed as I sat back into my seat, feeling James's eyes on me. Nate stared down at his lap. I placed my napkin back over my lap.
"Sorry, Chris called. He just landed" I said. That was actually true, whether they believed that or not. James nodded. Nate didn't say anything.
"I just ordered you some pancakes. I didn't know what you wanted" James breathed. I smiled. "You can't go wrong with pancakes" I smiled. He nodded and smiled. "You can't" He chuckled.
The rest of the brunch, James spoke. He asked me some questions, I asked him some. Basic small talk, like what do you plan to do after college? What do you want to be? What's your favorite place you've visited?
Nate chimned in some, but mostly said nothing. I guess he was taking ‘If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all' to heart. James's phone rang and he looked down at it before looking up at me.
"Excuse me, I have to take this" He said to be before he looked over at Nate. Nate looked up at him slightly and then looked out the window. I nodded and he stood up and picked up the phone.
I moved my fork around on my plate as silence came between us.
"I'm....sorry" he almost winced. I looked up at him. He looked down at the table. "I probably shouldn't have said that" He mumbled. My fork stilled. I let go of a breath and placed my fork down.
"It's okay" I whispered. He looked up at me. "I get it. He was your dad for 17 years, he's been mined since Monday" I breathed smiling. Nate smiled quickly before it dropped. I swallowed.
"But you can't hate me for wanting to know him. He's my father" I said glancing at him. He pursed his lips and looked away. "I don't" He said shaking his head.
"My dad and Chris have been through enough in their life, they don't need to get hurt anymore" He said blankly. I swallowed. "You act like I'm a wrecking ball Nate" I said shaking my head.
"I wouldn't put it past you" He breathed looking at me. I looked down.
"You hurt Chris"
"I fixed it" I snapped. “By skin of your teeth" He said staring at me. I sighed sitting up. "I get it you don't think I'm enough, but based off Chris's opinion of me....that doesn't alter your opinion whatsoever? Do you think Chris is an idiot?" I asked a little more harsh than I intended.
"Love is blinding" He said looking at me. I turned my gaze away from him. Fuck the olive branch. I was done trying. I just wanted this brunch to be over.
"Oh this is rich"
My eyes snapped up before I felt chills come over me. My gaze was on the ground, but I saw his shoes. I saw Nate shift up next to me. Reluctantly I lifted my gaze.
Max stared down at me. I glanced over seeing a blonde to his left. He stared down at me with an amused smirk. I glanced out the window seeing James speaking on the phone.
If he came back and heard whatever Max was about to say to me, he would probably forget about whatever relationship he wanted to build with me. He would look at me how the world did. Like a rich spoiled brat, or even worse a skank.
My hands shook.
"Already moved on from one low life to another I see?" He motioned to Nate. I glanced over at Nate who was looking at Max. I swallowed my nerves and the gag in my throat from the accusation of being on a date with my brother.
"Peyton" I stated looking at the blonde. I recognized her. She was on the cheer team. Had the amount of brains as she did a personality.
"Y/n" She crossed her arms over her chest. I rolled my eyes. I see why Max took a sudden interest. Max looked from Peyton and to me. "So not only are you a cheater, you're whoring around" He chuckled looking over at Nate.
My face turned red and I looked over at James. Still on the phone. I looked up at Max and opened my mouth to say something. "I-"
"Haven't seen you on the rink in a while Hastings. Didn't think you'd be drinking the pain away of being dumped instead of trying to get ahead for the upcoming season. Don't wanna be rusty before coach picks captain’s do you?" Nate said making me look over at him.
Max's jaw hardened as he looked down at him.
"Or are you too busy roofing girls to be worrying about any of that?" Nate tilted his head. Peyton looked up at Max with a suprised expression, dropping her arms. Max glared at him hard.
"If you think Coach is going to pick a junior over a senior for captains next year, you're full of it" He snapped. Nate sat up in his chair. "You sure thought so, when he didn't pick you as a junior, you cried like a baby in the locker room" Nate chuckled. I bit back a smile and looked at the table.
"You're wasting your time on her, she puts out like once a month--If you're lucky" Max snapped. Nate just stared at him.
"Can I help you son?" A hand came over Max's shoulder, hard. James glared at him. Max looked up at him, dipping his shoulder slightly. The air was thick.
"We were just--leaving" Max ripped his shoulder out of his grip. James's jaw tighetened. "Best get out of here. Table's full" He stated his eyes bearing into his. Max didn't say anything as he grabbed Peyton's arm and they left the store.
James's gaze didn't leave him until he was out of sight. He looked down at me and I swallowed. A smile came to his face and his angry demeanor was gone as if it never existed.
"Where were we?" He smiled sitting back down.
-
"You didn't have to do that" I mumbled looking over at Nate as James was at the register, paying. Nate didn't look over at me. "Max is a dick, he deserved it" He stated blankly. I just stared at him.
"Just so you know, I'm not proud of what happened. But I never slept with Max when I was seeing Chris. There wasn't ever an overlap with that....stuff" I whispered. Nate didn't react to my words instead he walked forward and stood next to his dad.
I swallowed. Another olive branch broken.
"I'll walk you home. Nate, would you like to come?" James said as he turned to me. "No. I've got homework" He mumbled pushing past us without another word. James sighed as we watched him push out of the coffee shop.
James looked down at me as I stared at the door. "Come on" He said placing his hand on my back as we walked out of the store and down the street. It was silent between us. I didn't know what he was thinking.
He barley knew anything about me, and what he did know was concerning. My worst moments. In the few days we've interacted, I've told him that I cheated on my former boyfriend--bad person or not I still cheated, he know's i've jumped from boy to boy. And the things he's heard....
Oh yeah. I forgot that your boyfriend that you consistently fucked the same time as Chris, was on the team.
You're wasting your time on her, she puts out like once a month--If you're lucky
Chills came over my arms. My father probably thinks I'm a whore. Great. And I'm sure the things Nate's told him haven't been any prettier than that.
"Are you cold? Do you want my coat?" His voice rang out my thoughts. I looked up at him, scared he could read my mind. I shook my head. "No--" I rubbed the goosebumps away. "I'm fine" I whispered looking down.
A few seconds later, I felt him pull his coat around my shoulders. I smiled from the warmth and looked up at him. He smiled as we walked.
I paused for a second and he looked back at me.
"I'm not a bad person, I promise" I swallowed. He just looked at me. "I've made some mistakes I'm not proud of b-but I promise I'm not what everyone makes me out to be. I've done my fair share of wrongs but-but--" My eyes watered. I just wanted him to see me. For who I was. Not what everyone told him I was. I just wanted him to see me.
"Hey, Hey" He breathed as he stepped forward and his arms came around me, comfortably. I sighed as I felt a tear roll down my face. I wanted someone else, who wasn't Chris, to see me as a person too. Nothing mattered to me more than winning over my dad.
"I don't think you're a bad person" He breathed above me. I sighed as I pressed my head into his chest. He pulled me back. "Sweetheart" He breathed I looked up at him.
"I can tell when someone is a bad person. It's a gift and a curse, especially when you want someone to be good and they’re not. You're not one of those people" He shook his head as his hands came under my eyes.
"You have a good heart. You haven't had the most fair circumstances. The people you grew up with, the people you've....let into your life" He breathed. I sighed. "I can't blame you for the way you play the cards you've been dealt" He shook his head.
"The fact that you're giving me a real shot to be in your life....I can't ever repay that" He shook his head. I swallowed.
"Nate, he'll come around---and Hastings..." He swallowed. "I went to school with his father, they are exactly the same" He shook his head. I sighed, dropping my shoulders.
"Yeah" I whispered. He tilted his head into my view. "And Chris is one of the most judgmental kids I've seen Nate hang out with" He chuckled. I smiled. "If you won him over, I have no doubt in my mind about you. And from the fact that you came from me....I think that makes you pretty cool" He smiled.
I sighed and rushed forwards and hugged him tightly. He stilled from my sudden embrace, before his arms came around me.
"Thanks Dad" I whispered. His breathing stilled, before I felt him release it and he hugged me tighter.

You opened your eyes with difficulty as you contemplated the idea of going back to sleep. A part of you wanted to ditch today because it was the last day of school before Christmas holidays but the other part of you also wanted to go because it was the last day...
A simple 'ding' coming from your phone resonated in your room and you had no choice but to stop this fight against sleep.
You took a look at the screen with drowsy eyes only to find a text from your best friend saying 'i hope you're coming today and not ditching bc its the last day
This made you smile internally and you finally decided to get up from your bed after wasting almost 10 minutes between sleepness and awakeness.
˚₊‧ ꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
Breakfast was the last thing in your mind as you hurriedly left your house and made a run to the bus stop. If only you got up from bed immediately after your alarm rang...
You made it to the stop just in time as the bus just arrived and you mentally thanked the universe for not ruining this friday (which is often the worse day of your week along with monday)
You let out a sigh and took a sit in the first empty seat you could find. Thankfully no one decided to sit next to you today.
Putting on your headphones you let your mind wander along the music but a weird feeling engulfed you. It felt like you had forgotten something...
You quickly checked your bag to verify if you forgot your pencil case, notebook or lunch but no, everything seemed fine.
Except eating breakfast what could you possibly forget? You had no idea and just decided to shrug it off as one of those random feelings you can't explain.
After a good 20 minutes ride you arrived at your high-school and walked through the gate, looking for your best friend.
"Y/n!" Your head snapped to the other side and you finally saw her, leaning against the wall and waving at you.
As you walked closer to her you could see her eyeing you weirdly. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion "What?"
She stifled a laugh "Nothing" she answered with the fakest and most sarcastic smile you've ever seen on her which made you roll your eyes.
"Whatever. We have an hour before classes start, what do you want to do ?"
"Let's go to the library, i didn't do my science homework !" She dramatically said as she grasped your wrist and started to drag you along with her.
As you both are making your way to the library, you hear your name being called from behind you. You stop in your tracks, recognizing the owner of the voice. You turn around, trying your best to keep your composure. Before you was none other than your classmate but also longtime crush, Park Gunwook and his dear friend Kim Gyuvin.
They were both dressed in red
Wait.
You look between them and your laughing bestfriend who was also wearing a red top and that's when it hit you.
Today is the last day before Christmas holidays and your whole class agreed on wearing something red, except you didn't.
That's what you forgot this morning.
Your eyes widened as everything started to make sense
"Why didn't you show up in red Y/n ? Don't you have anything red ? Not even a lipstick??" Gyuvin whined half-jokingly, half-annoyed.
Your lips formed an awkward smile at his whining
"I completely forgot it was today ! I knew i was forgetting something this morning..."
you tried your best to justify yourself but the pout on Gyuvin's face only became more prominent as you spoke.
You looked at Gunwook who still hasn't said anything about your choice of outfit (which was literally a white pair of jeans and a black sweater, nothing close to red even in the slightest)
"Am I the only who forgot in the class ?" You asked panicked at the idea of being the one to mess this whole thing up.
Gyuvin simply nodded at your question which caused your eyes to almost jump out of their sockets.
You turned to your bestfriend and grabbed her shoulders. "You have to have something red you can give me for the day. A red ribbon or something!"
The amused look that was resting on her face from the situation quickly vanished away as she looked into your desperate eyes and realized that she didn't have a solution to your problem
You immediately understood her expression
"No.. you better be kidding me ! You always have spare clothes with you and the only time i need it, you don't ?!" You dramatically ask, hoping that she was just messing with you.
"I swear i d-"
"Y/n"
Ah yes, you almost forgot that the pair was still here watching you desperately shake your friend's shoulders.
You looked back to Gunwook, mentally cursing yourself for making a scene in front of him.
"I can give you my hoodie if you want"
"Huh" that was not supposed to be said out loud... "I mean ! You won't be fitting the theme anymore, i don't want-"
"It's okay I have a red shirt underneath it" he smiled
Fuck, you need to find something else to decline.
"But you'll be cold-"
You cut yourself as he started to take off his hoodie as if you didn't just reject his offer and that's when you realize that you can't do anything to change Park Gunwook's mind, the most stubborn man you've ever known.
He quickly put his messy hair back to it's original styled way before handing you his hoodie which you obviously refused again.
"No no its fine Gunwook i don't need it plus you'll get cold-"
"Don't worry about me" he grabbed your arm and hung the hoodie on it, fully aware that you wouldn't accept it if he didn't take action.
"Uh- Are you sure ??"
"Absolutely" he nodded, giving you the sweetest smile
"Well..Thank you"
He sent you another smile in response before your bestfriend hurried you to go to the library for her science homework.
You both bid farewell to the other two before parting ways
"And you better wear it Y/n ! Don't ruin the class spirit !" Gyuvin yelled and you could hear Gunwook hushing him with a "that's enough" which made you laugh.
Today is not that bad after all.
˚₊‧ ꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
The last bell rang signaling the end of school but also the beginning of holidays.
Today was... something.
Yes Gunwook gave you his sweater (which means you spent the whole day with his scent lingering on you) but this action had consequences : girls.
Did I mention how Gunwook is extremely good looking and charming and, well, extremely popular among girls ?
Well you wearing his sweater made a lot of noise. Some girls were envious, other jealous and of course a lot of people thought you guys were dating.
Needless to say you were flustered the whole day, mostly when Gunwook sent you all-knowing looks and small smiles from time to time.
You were happy but you also felt sorry for Gunwook. I mean, you don't think that his name being associated to yours would be a good thing for his reputation...
You walked around the school, frantically looking for Gunwook but you couldn't find him anywhere. Did he leave already ? How were you supposed to give him back his hoodie ?
In the distance you spotted one of his friends, a mutual friend, and thought he might know where Gunwook is.
"Ricky !"
"Y/n, Hi!" He warmly smiled
"Hi um do you perhaps know where Gunwook is ? Did he leave already ?"
Ricky smirked at your question and you know he was up to something mischievous
"Why are you looking for him?" He asked, his smirk expending
You deadpaned and showed him the hoodie you were wearing
"I just need to give this back to him, so do you know where he is ?"
He let out a laugh before going back to his serious self, "When i saw him, he told me he needed to check his locker"
You sighed in relief "Thank you Ricky, have a merry Christmas !" And you left before even hearing his answer.
You made your way to the locker area, by now the school was almost empty so you really wished he was still here.
As if the heavens heard your prayers, you saw him standing by his locker.
"Thank god" you sighed out
You quickened your pace until you reached him, startling him in the process
"Gosh Y/n you scared me" he laughed, his hand flying to his heart as a response to fear.
"Sorry" you laughed
You started to take off his hoodie, something you should have done at least 15 minutes ago but you honestly didn't want to take it off.
A hand reached to pull it back down and you looked at him confused
"Keep it"
"What?" You let out
"I said keep it"
"What why ? Have you not heard all these rumors spreading around-"
"But i kinda like the way they sound"
If it was possible your jaw would literally be on the floor right now.
What is going on?
Gunwook only smirked at your reaction
"What do you mean?" You tried your best to sound normal but the blush on your cheeks betrayed you
He messed your hair and laughed
"I'm taking you out on a date soon, let's make the rumors become reality" and with that he walked away and left you standing there, processing everything that just happened in a span of three minutes.
And it all started with a red sweater.

a/n: this is all over the place im sorry y'all :((
"okay on one, two, three!"ethan helps you getting onto your bed. after an attack by a psycho in a ghostace mask, they left you with a stab to the side. you've been scared ever since but ethan has been there for you the entire time. "thank you ethan for everything really. if you want, you can go. i think i'll be fine." "no fucking way y/n. i almost lost you the other night and now i'm gonna make sure no one comes near my baby boy." he kisses you on your forehead and accidently puts his hand near your wound. you moan in slight pain and ethan apologizes a good 50 times. "well is there anything you need? water? food? kisses?" you laugh in response to his sweet and cute sense of humor.
"well i am feeling a little hungry and i do enjoy some kisses." he blushes as you say this. "i'll go get us some pizza. be back in a bit." he gives you a kiss and leaves. soon, you hear a knock on the door. you figure it's ethan. "it's open!" the door opens as you hear footsteps coming to your door. "ethan?!" the door opens and it's...chad. "oh my god chad! why the fuck would you scare me like that?!" "i'm sorry for not announcing my name as i've been over here plenty of times before. but anyways, ethan texted me that you were out of the hospital so i came back from class to see you for a quick second." you smile at him. you and chad had a little fling over the summer but decided you two weren't a match for each other after all.
"i mean nothing much to see just trying to get some rest you know." he could tell you didn't want to see him right now. "well if you need anything, i can come back later for dinner with you and uh... ethan" he also wasn't that fond of ethan either since he found out that you two were dating now. ethan walks into your bedroom. "hey baby i'm back." he stops and sees chad sitting beside your bed. they give each other a look which made it really awkward for you. "well uh i think i'll head out for now. class starts in a little bit. feel better y/n. see ya ethan." chad walks out and ethan comes over to sit next to you."why was he over here? what did you guys talk about?" he seemed concerned which was really cute for you.
"haha nothing ethan really. he just came over to see how i was feeling since you texted him i was back from the hospital." ethan felt and looked embarrassed for overreacting. "oh god yeah i forgot i texted him. i'm sorry baby for getting a little jealous there." you laughed and found him being protective of you really cute as always. "it's fine ethan. i find it really cute when a guy is overprotective in the sweet way just not in the stalker way." he laughs and gets closer to give you a kiss. he kisses you and you touch his soft, curly hair. you two continue to kiss for another few minutes. "so pizza and a movie?" he asks you. you agree and give him another kiss as he crawls into bed with you.

Ruhn Danaan x Fem!Reader
Summary - After throwing his weight around, Ruhn comes to you to apologise, but you have other plans.
Warnings - swearing, mentions of s*x, Ruhn being fed up with your crap but loving you anyway, angst, fluff
Tumblr media
Gods.
Gods were you annoying. You pushed his buttons daily, teetering on the edge of driving him to madness before pulling him back with passionate kisses.
Gods did he hate you sometimes, but he loved you more than anything, more than anyone.
Especially when you were prancing about his place wearing nothing but a thong and one his shirts that barely fell past your ass cheeks. Usually Ruhn was delighted to come home to you, you'd usually be sat with Tristan watching Sunball and enjoying a few beers; he'd come up behind you and bury his head into the crook of your neck and inhale your scent before kissing your shoulder and jumping over the edge to settle in beside you.
He knew it was coming, your bold defiance, and he knew there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Ruhn looked at his phone, frowning at your text exchange and wondering how it had gotten so heated. He had told you off, scolded you like a child for partying too hard with Bryce and neglecting your responsibilities. Ruhn knew better.
Everyone was allowed to let loose, to enjoy their shitty lives, Ruhn knew that better than anyone.
You hated being told what to do, it had taken so long for Ruhn to break that cycle in you, to idly agree to everything even if you didn't want to. Breaking that cycle had turned you strong and independent, you promised yourself that you'd never be controlled again. In public at least.
He hadn't meant it, he hadn't meant to belittle you and reprimand you, he certainly didn't mean to throw his title in your face and make you feel like you were worth less than he was. It had just gotten heated, and he hoped he could fix it before you truly believed that he felt that way.
So, when he entered the home that he shared with Tristan and Declan, and you, ready to apologise and fuck you so good that the exchange became a hazed memory, the last thing he ever thought he'd see was you dressed in the things you knew made him weak, sat beside Tristan in a glazed state with potent smoke curling around your mouth as you exhaled a grey cloud of mirthroot into the air.
The smile on you face was lazy, laced with complete relaxation, soft low giggles emitted from your lips, your lids were slightly squinted and your cheeks were swollen from past tears, flushed and tinged.
A bowl of popcorn was wedged in the space between you and Tristan, which was a good thing, because if it wasn't there Ruhn would have grabbed Tristan by the scruff of his neck and beat him into oblivion. The tv was set to a comfortable volume, Fangs and Bangs clear on the display, and the light illuminated your face, the small whisps of hair that had fallen from your messily thrown together updo, and the sports logo plastered to the front of that shirt.
Tristan noticed him first, that hazed giddiness that Ruhn knew all too well clear on his face, "Look who's here. It's none other than the Crown Prince of the Valbaran Fae himself," Tristan drawled and you turned slowly, your senses dimmed and mind moving at five miles an hour.
Your expression was blank as you looked at him, scanned his ripped black jeans and black shirt, his hair was tied back with two thick slices framing his face, he tongued the piercing in his lip, and his stare would have made you feel uncomfortable if you weren't already on another planet entirely.
"Fangs and Bangs? Didn't realise you were into this crap, Tristan," Ruhn took a step toward you, hissing at himself when you abruptly turned back to face the tv, taking a handful of popcorn and shoving it in your mouth.
Tristan inhaled the mirthroot deeply, a cough catching in his chest before the smoke cloud spurted from his mouth, he wafted the smoke away from his face and Ruhn watched it rise to the heavens, "I didn't put this shit on. This is all, Y/N."
"Give me that," you held you hand out to him, Tristan delicately placed your shared pleasure between your fingers, "I'll have you know that Fangs and Bangs is perfect for high-time television," you blew a smoke cloud at Tristan's face and smirked, lying back into the comfort of the sofa, not caring where Ruhn went next.
You were furious with him. How dare he take a swipe at you for going out, and with Bryce of all people, when he spent many hours away from you partying through the night. How dare he talk about responsibility and throw his name around to grasp some form of submission from you.
The cushions shifted under a new weight, you were determined not to look at him, to not give in, but as soon as those calloused fingers found your thigh and squeezed, you were weak. Like putty in his hands.
"Sweetheart," he cooed to you, dragging his fingers up and down your bare thigh, making you regret wearing so little as his fingertips left speckles of fire hissing on your skin. "Please look at me," his voice was low and husky, he didn't want Tristan to hear his whispering pleads to you or forever be teased.
Shrugging his touch off of you, involuntarily shuddering at vacant spot where his hand lay only moments before, you felt your phone vibrate, the screen lighting up with Bryce's name.
"What's up?" Ruhn tensed, of course Bryce would swoop in and interrupt his shit attempts to apologise to you, "Yeah, he's here. I don't know. What? Now?" Ruhn faintly heard his sisters voice chattering away through the device, he noticed your frown turn into mischievous delight, "What a great idea, Bryce. Exactly what I need, I'll see you soon. Love you."
You put the phone down and sighed, "Out again?"
Smirking, you jumped up from the sofa and walked around the edge of the sofa where a bewildered Ruhn was staring up at you, "Yep. White Raven. Bryce is coming to pick me up so I better get ready."
Without another word, you sauntered from the room, leaving Ruhn with his angry swirling thoughts. Tristan whistled, pulling Ruhn's attention from the doorway you had just strutted out from, "This is what happens when you pull rank with the one person you know loves you for you and nothing else."
Twenty minutes had passed, Bryce had barged in and flipped Ruhn off with a death glare before pattering up the stairs and into your shared bedroom. They had listened to your hushed giggles and shuffling about on the floor above, turning toward the entry when the faint click of heels sounded against the bare wood.
There you were, clad in a skin tight black dress adorned by a thousand tiny crystals that shimmered in an array of shades when you hit the light at a certain angle. Pair that with a pair of knee high heeled boots, and you had officially succeeded in making Ruhn a needy worried mess. Your makeup was simple, radiant shimmers on your cheekbones and nose, eyeliner and long lashes, and glossed nude lips.
Bryce ran her fingers through your hair, separating any knots she found and fluffing it around your face, "Let's go. Fury and Juniper are waiting for us. Girl's night!" Ruhn's amber eyed sister, and one of your best friends, dragged you from the room without so much as a goodbye to the two males staring at them from in front of the tv.
Tumblr media
The White Raven was thrumming with eclectic energy. Sweat evaporating and clinging to the air.
You couldn't remember what time you had left, you didn't know how long you'd be dancing. You didn't know how many shots Bryce had forced down your throat. You were just happy and free.
Ruhn had looked so desperate to touch you, those big pleading violet eyes screaming at you to look at him. You knew he had a lot on his plate, his father didn't exactly agree of your relationship but Ruhn had somehow been able to convince him that when the time came you'd be the perfect person to have beside him. It made you feel bad, he was just trying to protect you in a way, to secure your place beside him, and you'd pranced about in your underwear high as a kite before dressing up and heading out. Again.
Gods, you were so fucking stupid.
But you didn't let your regret show, you were too stubborn for that, a fact Ruhn knew far too well.
Bodies kept on bumping into you as the music became heavier, the bass louder, the drinks stronger. Bryce was holding onto you and swaying, muttering about how Hunt wouldn't be happy with her if she woke him up again. Apparently he'd had a long day. Just like Ruhn.
Running your hands through your hair and up to the sky, you felt arms wrap around your waist, that familiar nose and chin nuzzling into the crook of your neck. Spice and leather. Kisses peppered along your shoulder and his arms pulled you tighter into his chest, low growls flowing from his lips when people bumped into you.
The lights were low, slices of purple and blue flickering through the club, but you could faintly make out Tristan at the bar and Hunt swaying with Bryce. They'd crashed girls night.
"Sweetheart, look at me," he ran a finger up your arm, across your chest, and along your jaw, pulling your chin toward him, "There she is," he cooed, pushing your hair from your face so that he could really see you.
"What do you want, Ruhn? You've already crashed girls night," you huffed, folding your arms over you chest whilst the world continued to party around you.
You were never going to be able to refuse him, but you could at least make him grovel a bit.
Ruhn ducked his head, lowering it to meet your eye line, he was so intoxicating, everything inside of you screamed to reach for him, to drag him into a bathroom stall and fuck it all out.
"I'm so sorry," he told you, holding your stare, "I never should have gotten angry at you, I never should have tried to tell you what to do. We worked so hard to get you out of that headspace," he pulled you flush against his chest and tilted your head up, his breath fanned across your face, "I love you, Y/N. So. Fucking. Much." Ruhn was trying to control himself, you deserved an apology before he fucked you senseless and made you his over and over again.
"I had the worst day. My father is breathing down my neck right now, and I just want you safe and by my side for the rest of my life. It's stupid but I'm scared he'll try and take you away from me. Not like I'd ever let him but, I'm afraid he'll catch wind of the wild nights and think you're unworthy. You're not in any sense, you love me for me and I know nothing else matters to you, I know that. I'm sorry I let him get in my head, I'm so sorry I used my name against you, I wasn't thinking."
Those violet pools were desperate, glazed over and sad, and it broke you to see him like that.
"Ruhn," you pressed your forehead to his, brushing your nose against his, "I'm sorry too. I should have kept in mind how important this is to you. I'm sorry for being stubborn and trying to piss you off. I know you'd never want to make me feel small. I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to apologise for."
"Ruhn-"
"Nothing," he hummed, pulling your face to his in a kiss you had shared so many times, full of so much love and yearning and hope that every day would be filled with them. "Plus, it was kinda hot seeing you in my shirt like that."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah," he laughed against your lips, deepening the next and relishing in the taste of you, "Let me take you home, Sweetheart. The things I want to do to you aren't to be heard by others."
Ruhn Danaan knew three things with absolute certainty:
That you were the most beautiful, fearless creature he'd ever encountered
That he couldn't wait to get you home and settle you onto his face
He knew that the morning would be the perfect time to grab that velvet emerald box from his sock drawer and promise to love you for eternity

Stolas
Naturally, Stolas was the one who came to you with the idea.
He was going through your belongings one day, totally not trying to find and steal one of your soft nice smelling hoodies.
While looking around he found an old letter depicting a snowy mountain, humans skiing down its white slopes with "Winter 2002" written in the corner.
He flipped it around to find a note written by non other then, you.
"I just went skiing with some friends. It was nice, until someone messed up and slammed into me... Now my ankle is sprained... WORTH IT! I got to drink some bomb ass hot cocoa."
Stolas knew about snow, of course. But he never had the chance to experience it for himself, and he wouldn’t let this opportunity slip by.
He carefully puts it back in the envelope before continuing to look around. Next time he sees you he'll have to bring it up.
He finally finds what he came for a few seconds later. Quickly grabbing the hoodie from your bed then sprints out of your room making sure to clear any evidence he was ever there as he leaves.
Later that day he started planning a vacation for you two. Somewhere quiet, somewhere cold, somewhere snowy.
~~~~~
You're sitting on one of the many fancy couches in the palace when Stolas walks in a slight sense of worry emanating from him.
"Ahh there you are. I looked everywhere, I started to get worried after I searched your room and didn't find you or a text... I need to speak with you about something, may I sit?"
You nod and gesture to the spot next to you. He happily takes said spot and gets comfy before turning back to you.
"Dear, I've been wondering. Would you... Like to go on a vacation... With me? Everything is already planned. Transportation, protection, and food of course. All I need from you is a simple yes or no."
You sit there in silence thinking it over while he waits for your answer, he's staring a little bit.
After a moment going over it in you're head you agree, a vacation sounds nice. Even if all you do all day is laze about and receive love from a certain owl it wouldn't hurt.
~~~~~
You step through the portal, the chilly frost bitten air wasting no time trying to freeze you to your core, it fails however because of the twenty something layers Stolas made you wear.
You'll admit it's keeping you warm, but it also makes it hard to see... And walk...
You clumsily follow the owl through the snow covered mountainside eventually coming up to a grand looking cabin.
You turn to Stolas wondering if this is the place only to find him beaming at you, guess it is.
Once inside you take your time getting all the layers off while Stolas brews some hot cocoa.
By the time you're comfortable the sun starts going down. You're about to head to bed before Stolas stops you, asking you to join him for a bit.
You sit down with Stolas on two surprisingly comfortable wooden chairs, sipping hot cocoa and watching the sunset through a large wooden framed window, the high altitude of the mountain making the view more special.
It's cold and blue outside, but warm and orange inside. This really is a nice vacation. You should thank him when you're back home.
~~~~~
Stella
Convincing this avian royal to think of, non the less talk about the possibility of a ‘vacation’, is not an easy task.
It took you weeks of prying, prodding, and sometimes even begging to get Stella to consider it.
As right as it feels to congratulate yourself for getting her to consider it, only half your work is done. You still need to get her to go.
Once you finally convince her though, she goes from acting like she would never enjoy a vacation in a million years to acting like she waited forever for this.
The whiplash from her attitude's complete 180 might as well have broke your neck.
Sunscreen! Stella cannot emphasize this enough.
Your puny, spongy, soft human body will not be tainted by Earth's sun rays. And it's definitely is not just her trying to justify her rubbing your bare back, or down your sides.
She's 100% doesn't have ulterior motives, at all, why would you even say that?!
Though… If you did get sunburned, then she’d still get to rub that Aloe Vera all over you… Hmm…..
No! Your skin is far too pristine to be burned and roasted like that, no matter how tempting it is.
~~~~~
You arrive at the door to Stella's room, barely even knocking on it before it was swung open an ecstatic Stella greeting you from her well furbished room.
"There you are! I've been waiting for ages!"
She had a light blue sundress on. It hugged her curves well and you'd be lying to said you didn't stare a bit. All of that topped off with the largest wide brimmed sunhat you’ve ever seen.
You open your mouth to complement her appearance but are cut off by her dumping three giant, incredibly heavy bags in your arms.
"Let's get going, you wouldn't want to be late for our hotel reservation, now would you? And I've heard wonderful things about their wine."
Before you could so much as get a word in edgewise she starts dragging you off towards portal, all while you're struggling to get used to the weight of the bags.
While you walk she starts talking your ear off listing off all the activities she's planned for you two.
You nearly scoff at that. She's talking like she's the one who organized all of this. It's not like you spent multiple weeks planning and convincing her.
After a moment more struggling with the bags you catch up and step through the portal after her.
You're instantly hit in the face with a waft of heat, sun, and fresh ocean air. Despite the initial shock it's a nice change from the palace that you're oh so used to.
She gestures for you to follow then speed walks off towards the hotel leaving you with her bags, again. You're already tired, and you haven’t even gone to the beach yet.
~~~~~
After the workout that was getting Stella's luggage up to the room you and her finally relax on the beach together.
Not a single other person in sight. You turn to her calm but still a little confused.
"Where is everyone, an island like this should have tons of staff... Wait... Did you rent out this entire island?!"
She, not surprisingly laughed at that.
"Of course I did. I may be the prettiest girl you'll ever see but I'm still a demon. And, I thought that some alone time would be nice. No guards or servants. Just you, and me."
Mid sentence she interlocked her hand with yours while progressively getting closer. You lean forward for a kiss but feel a finger on your lips instead.
"You should know by now that you have to earn that darling. This is our first day here and you expect me to just give you whatever you want right off the bat. This may be a vacation, but that does not mean you get whatever you want instantly."
You frown and look away, it was such a romantic moment before she went and said all that. But, you're willing to work for it. You wouldn't be here sitting with her if you weren't.
~~~~~
Octavia
Good luck getting her to relax. She definitely needs it though, as this owl is stressed. I mean, she's got a lot of worries and she's a teenager, so you've got your work cut out for you.
That being said however, she's easily tricked into relaxing if you say the vacation is for you not her, and it wouldn't be the same without her there. That'll make her change her mind real quick.
Then once there, when she least expects it, you strike. Then before she knows it, she's feeling relaxed. Or at the very least a little better then before.
My professional opinion is to take her somewhere that is completely new to her, like nothing she's seen before if possible.
It'll help her forget her troubles easier. I recommend somewhere quiet with tons of greenery. And animals,
And stick around her, she wants consistency, and reliability. That mixed in with tons of quality time.
Just keep close to her if you can, try to make her have a good time, and most of all try and make it new to her.
Time away from the normal and melancholy is what she needs most.
~~~~~
You walk up to Octavia's door and knock. Nothing. You knock again. Also nothing.
You invite yourself in and see her laying on her bed staring at the ceiling, never a good sign.
You walk over and sit on the bed watching her snap out of it when the bed dips. She turns to look at you not moving much.
"Hey, you doing ok?"
She half sighs half groans then flips over to face you better.
"I'm fine."
You frown at that, 'I'm fine' is not a 'I'm actually ok' kind of answer.
"Rough day?"
"Just my parents, again... UGH WHY CAN'T THEY JUST BE NORMAL! Or at least not make their problems mine."
She flops back onto her back, going back to staring at the ceiling her expression shifting constantly as her mind works through her inner turmoil.
"Alright well. Were going on a vacation tomorrow so please remember to pack."
She groans again and flips over this time facing away from you.
"Do I have to... I mean I've told you a hundred times, I don't need a vacation... I just wanna stay home..."
You frown, again. You just gotta convince her to go. You can do that...
"It isn't for you. I want a vacation. And I want you to come, cause it wouldn't be the same without you."
You two sit in silence for a few moments before she groans extra loud. You're about to ask if she's alright before she suddenly gets up and walks into her closet.
You hear things being moved around and assume she's packing. So you'll leave her be, you've have to pack too anyways.
Before you leave you walk up to the doorframe of the closet, peak your head in just so she can see it.
"I love you."
You hear her mumble something along the lines of 'luv you too' before you turn to leave.
~~~~~
You quickly step out of the limo going around to Octavia's side to open the door for her. She quickly gets out before you can.
You know she doesn't like you doing that, but you're just trying to be courteous. Like usual.
Non the less you walk over and take her hand leading her into the medium to large house with a giant glass dome connected to one end.
"I thought you'd enjoy this place. It's a house built in the early 1900's. It has a giant greenhouse with hundreds if not thousands of plant types in it. Perfect place for a week away from home, I think."
You two go inside while some servants unload your things. You start showing her around, just little interesting things you learned from the homes owner.
You walk around for a while most stuff she doesn't react to, but have one more trick left. You pull out a small, old, metal whistle and blow into it. A moment later the dog of the house come padding in.
He's a large old golden retriever named Spike, who's lived here for years. You met him a few days ago to make sure he was friendly. He was, and you know Octavia's going to love him.
You watch her expression change from overall boredom to confusion then finally to a small smile when Spike walks up to her and rests his head against her side.
She look at him for a moment, then up to you clearly a little confused. You smile at her then walk over and start scratching behind his ear.
"His favorites spots are behind the ears, base of his tail, and his toe beans. Just be careful not to tickle him, he doesn't like that."
She cautiously crouches down and starts lightly scratching him behind an ear. You make sure nothing goes wrong then take a step back letting her enjoy some doggo time.
Yeah. She definitely needed this.

Living in Monaco could be considered everyones dream, and it surely was yours. Every weekend, one of the drivers would host a part at their house, or in the biggest clubs in the country. That's where you found yourself talking to several of them and even hooking up.
Tonight you were in Charles Leclercs bed, with the pretext of "no attachments". You were moaning out his name as he was eating you out like there was no tomorrow. Gripping his hair as he continued to lick and suck. You knew he was bad for you, but the moment your lips touched, it's like everything you knew was forgotten.
The weekend after, he was eating you out in the backseat of his car, not even waiting to arrive home with you. You liked it, you couldn't lie, but you hoped that this time it wasn't just to help him leave the stress out before the race. He was like a drug and you were addicted to him. He was angry, you would help. He was happy, you would be there. But if someone asked what the two of you were, his answer would always be "We're just friends"
Sooner than you expected, you found yourself being in a relationship with him, but to say the least it didn't meet your expectations. Charles was distant and when he was there you barely talked. Now you were getting ready to have dinner with his parents. Finishing doing your hair, you walked into the living room to find him.
"Charles, do you really want me to go?" You asked seeing that he didn't even bother to look at you. He got up, kissing you without even looking at you. He kissed you, thinking that it would fix everything.
"I think it's better that we don't go..." You sight, pulling away, looking at him not feeling in the mood to lie to his parents about your relationship.
Charles sighed, he didn’t know what to do, he loved you. He just didn’t want to admit it. He looked at you, his eyes filled with emotion. Seeing that you didn’t want to lie he agreed. "It’s best we don’t go." He replied walking back to the sofa, picking up his phone and getting distracted by a text message from a girl.
The moment he looked at his phone, you knew that he was talking to another girl. Your best friend warned you about him, but you didn't listen, hoping that you can change him. You decided to go back to your room, not wanting to be in his presence longer than needed. Since the two of you decided not to go to his parents house, now you had to take your make up off which you have been working on for hours. Not only, he was talking to someone else while he was dating you, but he seemed happier.
He noticed that you were heading to the room, after a little debate with himself, he followed you, hoping you didn't know about the text message. "Where are you going?" He asked stopping you from going in.
"Home." You said looking away not wanting to meet his gaze. "I'm going home."
Feeling that this was about to be a discussion, he grabbed your wrist with one hand not letting you go. "No you’re not" He said his voice sounding firm almost angry but his eyes had a sense of hurt and sadness in them.
"Yes i am, i can't do this...anymore." You said sitting down on the couch. "I can't..." You keep looking away, trying to keep yourself from crying. "We act like we are strangers and then pretend to be in love for a minute...it's killing me..." Finally you let a tear escape your eyes.
He listened, his grip got tighter when he heard you wanting to go and when you started crying he pulled you into his arms hugging you tight. "You’re not going anywhere." He said, his tone now a bit kinder but a lot more protective as he brushed your hair from your face.
"Yes i am...we've been fucked up for a long time...this has to stop." You looked at him with a face full of tears, which was getting redder and redder. "All we do is lie..."
Even though he disagreed with you, he knew that it was the truth, but that didn’t mean he wanted to lose you. "No." He said shaking his head, still holding you tightly. He didn’t want to lose you at all. Even though you both were lying to each other he still felt as if you were the main purpose in his life. It was a selfish thought but he couldn’t help it.
"Yes..." You said looking at him and then away to wipe your tears. "We aren't even that close anymore..."
Charles stayed silent, he couldn’t handle the truth. All the times he avoided you, all the times he talked to another girl, all the times he lied all came crashing down on him and he wished he had done things differently. "We can fix everything." He said still holding you, not wanting to lose you, not wanting the person he loved to leave him. "I’ll be better I promise.."
"I know about her..." You said reffering to the girl he has been seeing and talking to for the past few weeks.
He froze, he felt a pang of guilt hit his chest. He didn’t expect you to know about her. After a few seconds he spoke not looking at you. "She was just a distraction.. she means nothing, I just wanted to forget things."
"Forgetting about us?...about me?" You looked away, not being prepared to face the truth. "Sure, she does...that's why you smile at her texts...are happy...unlike with me...when you act like i'm a ghost..."
He stayed silent, he didn’t want to answer that. He knew that when you talked about how he acted with the other girl that it was the truth. He knew that he acted different and happy with the other girl, unlike you. His gaze dropped to the floor. He was scared of losing you. "I’m sorry it will stop, I’ll stop" He said, trying to make it seem as if he really meant that, as if you could believe him.
"No, this has to stop..." You said showing to you and him, getting up finally ready to go to the room that the two of you share. One last time you wipe your tears, finally going upstairs.
He looked at you with sadness, he didn’t want you to go, but knew that he really messed things up a long time ago. He should have given his all to you, treated you better and been a better boyfriend. He tried one last time to get you to stay. "Please, stay."He said, trying his hardest to keep his emotions in check.
"Don't do this to me..." You said putting the clothes in the lagguage, wiping away your tears.
He sighed, he knew he didn’t have any other card to play. The moment you grabbed your things he knew that he really lost you, this time no excuses, no lies, no tricks, nothing could make you stay and he should have realized that sooner. "Fine, just tell me one thing." He said looking at you with sad eyes.
"What?" You looked at him with the lagguage in your hand, coming closer to him to hear him better.
He gulped, he hoped he was wrong but he had to ask the question. He didn’t want to but he just had to know. "Do.. do you still love me?" He asked, he didn't expect you to answer it honestly but he couldn't resist to ask the question. He knew that he was putting himself in a vulnerable position by asking such a bold question. He bit his lip out of nervousness.
"I never stopped." You whispered looking at the ground.

Hey~ I don’t know if you would agree to write a work with this character, but I feel real despair that there are practically no decent works with this character. Gepard leads in sex. Please… Maybe incest with a yandere or deflowering? I'm so tired of reading Gepard passively and no one understands me.
Hi! (o˘◡˘o)
I think I can help you with that. How about everything at once? I hope this heals your wounds, because I'm also outraged by the fact that many writers describe Gepard as a shy and passive guy as possible, when he is completely different. No, of course he's charming and sweet, but damn, he's the CAPTAIN. He's a man with a core, stubborn and principled, a man who has managed to earn trust, which means he is firm in his beliefs and a sense of justice is not alien to him at all. Of course, he can be gentle with his beloved, but come on, who didn't imagine how his hand in this metal glove squeezes someone's (for example, ours) throat? I imagined it! I don't care about the rest. I'm very glad that I'm not the only one who loves dominant strong men, so I was happy to write this work for you. I hope you like it~

You love your family, really. Your sisters have always been so kind to you that you could even call them your friends, despite the age difference, but at some points they still made you remember that they are your relatives. Serval can be overly caring, but a Lynx, on the contrary, is freedom-loving, so sometimes you have to return to the role of an older sister, looking after her. And yet you love them. Even Gepard.
Why «even»? It's hard to say exactly where your strange relationship originates from, because you didn't immediately realize that there was something unnatural in them. Does older brother take care of you? Well, all relatives take care of each other, don't they? Does he like to spend all his free time with you? You're probably close enough, and that's great. Does your older brother kiss you, hug you, and take a bath with you? Oh, it's very sweet that he cared and loved his little sister so much as a child.
But your childhood ended a long time ago, and your relationship has not changed at all.
Gepard trying to be unobtrusive, but it turns out to be very lousy. You know that he secretly looks into your phone, studying each of your correspondence, but you don't say anything, because your brother just doesn't want you to get involved with bad people, right? Gepard doesn't want you to live separately, despite the fact that you have been on your feet for a long time and can afford it, but you keep silent and agree, because he just wants you to be there because he wants to protect you. Gepard forbids you to go on dates and get to know other men, but you don't mind, even though you don't understand what he cares about it. Gepard suggests that you take a shower together when the two of you return home, because he always meets you after your shift, despite his own unstable schedule, and you… agree, because this is your brother, there's nothing wrong with that, right?
You're confused. Seeing the relationships in your friends' families, you gradually begin to pay attention to the fact that even between a brother and sister there should be a distance that you and Gepard don't have. Are they crazy or are you?
— Geppie's just worried about you, honey! Don't pay attention, one day he'll definitely calm down, you just have to show him that you have really grown up and no longer need his care.
Serval's words are firmly embedded in your brain, because during this recent conversation, you still didn't understand that, in fact, even the older sister confirmed that what you told her was not quite right. You didn't talk about sharing a bathroom, you didn't talk about how Gepard kisses you on the corner of your lips when he leaves for work in the morning, you didn't talk about how he violates your personal space. Probably, deep down, you really knew that it shouldn't be like this, so you didn't tell the truth.
You love your older brother, you really do. That's why you decided to talk to him first. For some reason, it was so disturbing and exciting to start a conversation, but you are a family, and he'll understand you if you are only sincere, right? It should have been like this.
— You're still young and don't understand that living away from your family will only harm you. I take care of you, I give you everything you want, why do you want to run away so much?
«Because your concern is suffocating me. Because you only give me what you want. You limit me, control me, and forbid me to live my life. It's wrong, it shouldn't be like this…», — you'ld like to say it out loud. These words were already on the tip of your tongue, ready to burst into the air, but they remained buried deep in your throat when you humbly swallowed every objection and dissatisfaction.
— I'm sorry, brother…
His big palm on top of your head and the cold metal from the plate on Gepard's uniform pressing against your face made you feel so… uncomfortable for the first time.
That's why you don't want to go home right now, and you got off early on purpose so you wouldn't have to meet Gepard. You'ld like to share his warm feelings, but you can no longer deceive yourself. It burden you.
You wander among the exhibits of an empty museum, preparing to close, but you don't stop at anything, too immersed in your own thoughts. Even almost all the employees have already gone home. Quietly, calmly. You were not mistaken when you decided to choose this particular place to cool your head a little. But even here, for some reason, it seems to you as if your brother's gaze is following you at every step. You don't remember the last time you went out without him, because Gepard seems to be doing everything on purpose so that you don't even cross paths with your friends on the way home, spending your evenings in his company.
Why are you just now starting to realize how sick you are of his company? It must be terrible to even let the thought that you want your brother to disappear, but… wouldn't it be easier for you to breathe without him?
— Oh, isn't that my old friend's little sister? — a sweet melodious male voice breaks into the silence that presses on you, and at first you don't even understand if this person is addressing you, just briefly turning back, casting an incredulous glance at the stranger. The tall blue-haired man grins, clapping his hands before coming closer as soon as the bright green eyes notice that you have stopped. — Well, that's right! Y/N, yeah?
— Do we know each other?.. — you're frowning, crossing your arms over your chest, trying to look and sound confident, but your posture is as scared and constrained as your thoughts continue to swarm in your head.
— Oh, didn't my dear friend tell you about Sampo? — the theatrical man pretends to be sad, then breaks into a sly grin again. — I suppose it's never too late to introduce ourselves to each other. Although I already know your name, and you just heard Sampo's name… hmm, does that mean that we know each other now?
— P-probably… — you mumble softly, backing away slightly as the tall man bends over, carefully studying your face.
— This is the first time I've seen you not in the company of my friend.
— And I actually see you for the first time, — you smile crookedly, causing Sampo to respond with a soft laugh.
— Don't be shy, my dear friend! — oh, you're wondering why Gepard didn't tell you about this man. — So how can Sampo serve you?
— Huh?
— Oh, what should Sampo do?… The museum is closing soon, and I'm spending time with my new friend for the first time…
— Do you… work here? — you raise an eyebrow in disbelief, to which the man perks up, proudly resting his palm on his side.
— That's right, that's right! Sampo Koski is at your service! — it's unlikely that you'll find a common language with this person.
— May I ask how it happened? I'm sorry, but you don't really look like…
— Ah, it's a long story! — Sampo interrupts, grinning nervously and looking away. — You mean I don't look like a law-abiding citizen? How many times has Sampo heard this, and every time these words break my heart…
— N-no, I didn't mean to offend you, — you stretch out your hand to the man who dramatically clasped his forehead with his palm, but almost immediately pull it back.
— You're so sweet, unlike your brother. Although his indifference and callousness, of course, has its own special charm, — the man's facial expressions change like masks, and now he is smiling again, closing his eyes and leaning closer to your face. — So, I could leave the museum open for a while longer, and we could chat a little longer!
You wrap your arms around your own shoulders, warily meeting Sampo's gaze when he opens his eyes, and you are already opening your mouth to gently refuse the man, when suddenly, with a dull clap, someone's big palm lands on the shoulder of your new "friend".
Sampo straightens up instantly, turning around anxiously. The man's face instantly contorts into an awkward expression when the green eyes meet the cold, sharp gaze of the Captain, who furrowed his eyebrows in anger. You feel your heart jumping in your chest, and your fingers go numb as you convulsively squeeze the hem of your skirt, watching your brother's fist tremble, about to hit Sampo.
— Calm down, calm down, my friend, I was about to leave!
— Why are you with him? — for the first time, you hear the burning anger in your brother's voice when he addresses you, making you cringe in place as soon as the sharp gaze of his blue eyes pins you to the floor.
— I… We were just talking… — tears come to your eyes, and a sharp lump squeezes your throat, muffling your voice, but as soon as you see that Gepard is looking at the nervously grinning Sampo again, your body moves by itself, and you rush forward, convulsively grabbing your brother by the elbow. — I swear, he just came over to say that the museum will close soon! Nothing more!
— Ha ha ha… That's how it was, Sampo didn't want to inconvenience his new friend.…
— Friend? — the blue irises seem to be covered with an icy crust when Gepard squeezes Sampo's shoulder harder, ignoring your pathetic attempts to pull his hand away from the poor man, who now seems to get what he deserves.
— W-we're not friends, this is the first time I've seen him, Gepard, please! — tears slowly begin to roll down your cheeks, and your fingers press harder into the metal on your brother's glove, before he still seems to listen to your pleas, and lets go of Sampo, but still does not take his eyes off him.
— You'd better get as far away as possible, because as soon as I talk to my sister, you'll be next.
Sampo decides not to answer anything, so as not to inflame the atmosphere even more, and just nods briefly, walking behind your brother and turning to you one last time, folding his palms in front of his face and arching his eyebrows in a guilty apologetic expression before hurriedly leaving.
Silence. While you were here alone, this silence was alarming, but now it terrifies you to the point of chilling shivers running down your spine. You've never been afraid of your own brother like you are now. You didn't do anything wrong, you were even honest with him, but… for some reason, the feeling that you made an unforgivable mistake doesn't leave you, becoming more and more distinct as Gepard continues to remain silent, not even meeting your gaze, but just looking somewhere in the aside while you guiltily examine his angry face.
— Brother, I…
— I asked you, — Gepard interrupts, addressing you in a stern tone and finally turning his head, turning his icy gaze on you. — Do you need this? Is this the kind of life you want? So that this trash can just come up and talk to you? Although, I can see that you didn't even mind at all.
— No, it's not like that! I just came here to get some air, and he…
— To get some air? You didn't wait for me, — a big hand in a white glove painfully grabs your wrist, and tears come to your eyes with renewed vigor, blurring the image of your brother looming over you with complete disappointment in his gaze. — Why, Y/N?
— Because I'm tired! — you're choking out, stuttering and sniffing. — I'm not a child anymore, and you are… I can't take a step without you, you're watching me, acting like… — you stop, not daring to say what you were going to say, and Gepard bends even lower to your tear-stained face, staring intently into your reddened eyes.
— Like what? Finish it, Y/N.
— Like… — you inhale the air intermittently, then exhale it back just as jerkily before continuing, hastily trying to blink tears from your eyelashes so that you can see your brother's face as clearly as possible. — Like you're my boyfriend.
The man's lips tighten and the grip on your wrist loosens slightly as the blue eyes continue to stare at you without blinking. You really said that. You were afraid to even admit this thought, but these words slipped out of your mouth by themselves, finally voicing what had been bothering you all these years. Gepard has crossed some line that you didn't even know existed until you felt that his presence was making you suffocate. This has to stop. Now.
— I don't understand, is this a bad thing?
— Wh-what?..
— No one knows you better than I do, and they never will. I won't let that happen, — Gepard's eyebrows furrow, and his free hand settles on your waist, pulling you closer to his body. — Why do you want other men so much? What can they give you that I can't?
It's like a bad… bad, bad dream. The ringing in your ears drowns out Gepard's words, and your brother's arm falls limply from his elbow until he presses you against the wall with the painting. The grip on your wrist strengthens again when Gepard forcefully lifts and presses your hand against the cold concrete, pulling you out of your stupor and returning you back to the disgusting reality from which you are trying to fight off with your free palm, but it also suffers the same sad fate.
— Let me go! I don't understand what you're talking about.… We are a family! — you squirm weakly in Gepard's grip as he shackles your wrists above your head, freeing one hand to grab your throat with it. Not too much, but enough to obstruct your breathing.
— Exactly, Y/N, we are a family, — there seemed to be no trace of the sweet caring Gepard. A completely different person is looking at you now. Obsessed, violent, completely inaudible and not listening to what you're trying to tell him. — But you stopped appreciating what I do for you, you don't appreciate how much I value you.
— I appreciate it! But you're my brother, damn… Let me go, Gepard, please… — you start crying again, writhing in your brother's grip, still hoping that he just had a bad day, and if he sees your tears now, he will be the same again… And your pathetic hopes are justified when you feel like a gloved hand releases your neck, allowing you to take a full deep breath.
— I've been so stupid all this time when I thought you understood me. I thought you were old enough to make the right choice, but no, you are still the same child in the body of an adult who has never been punished for misconduct, so now you can afford to be naughty.
— Gepard?.. — you call out to your brother almost in a whisper, anxiously trying to look into his eyes, but his gaze is fixed somewhere down while he hurriedly pulls the belt out of his trousers.
— If you haven't managed to grow up, then, as an older brother, I'm obliged to raise you, — after these words, you don't even have time to open your lips to answer anything, at least something to Gepard, before you are forcibly turned around and pressed face to the wall, and your hands are painfully wrung behind your back tearing a plaintive cry out of his strangled throat.
— Gepard! Brother, I beg you… that's enough, let's go home! Forgive me!
He's not listening. You can't see his face, but you can feel the weight of his gaze on your own body as he lifts up your skirt and casually pulls your underwear down your legs.
— Forgive you? I'm not mad at you, Y/N, — even his voice is cold, sending uncontrollable shivers through my skin. Gepard is silent for a moment, but the back of your head is squeezed by some unpleasant premonition, before your ass is struck by an unbearably burning pain from the whiplash of the belt. The air is knocked out of your clenched lungs, and your nails reflexively dug into your own palms when the walls of the museum heard your heart-rending scream.
— G-Gepard! Please!.. — you scream when you feel some movement behind your back, realizing that your brother swung again, after which another portion of pain stung your flesh.
— I'm just disappointed...
The man mumbles indifferently, ignoring your attempts to escape and hoarse screams, interrupted by coughing when you start choking on your own tears and saliva. And then Gepard strikes again.
— And I have to correct my own mistake.
Blue eyes coldly watch as your flesh turns red, and the stripes from the belt swell on your skin, but Gepard strikes again, and then again, without losing sight of a single shudder of your poor body. You've always been a defenseless little sister to him, whom Gepard so desperately wanted to protect. For himself.
How can you get to someone else? He raised you, he gave you a love that no one in this world is capable of giving you, he was there for you, sharing joys and sorrows with you. You have to choose him. He doesn't accept any other outcome.
The last blow turned out to be more painful than all the previous ones, as if all the disappointment and anger that you awakened in Gepard were now imprinted on your body with pulsating bruises and burning pain, pulling more and more tears from your squeezed eyes.
— I didn't want to hurt you, Y/N … — Gepard says with a barely perceptible note of sadness in his voice, bowing his head and pressing his forehead to the top of your head. — But otherwise you'll slip away from me… I can't let that happen.
You just sniffle and sob softly, pressing your face against the wall, feeling the blood rise to the places where Gepard's fingers continue to press into the skin of your wrists with force. Has he always been like this? Your brother couldn't have changed in a few miserable minutes. You just didn't notice, did you? You didn't notice how obsessed he was with you.
— I should have punished you, but… let me make it up to you and show you that I can be more than just a brother to you.
You barely catch your brother's words because of the ringing that continues to crash into your ears, but for some reason his gentle, guilty tone involuntarily tightened your stomach and nausea rose in your throat, as if now you missed the words that you should have heard, but you don't want to listen so much. You hear the metal belt buckle hitting the floor of the museum, catch the muffled rustle of clothes, feel Gepard's warm palm making its way down your stomach and settling between your legs, and reflexively squeeze your hips, opening your eyes in fright.
— N-no, what are you…?
— Relax, Y/N. I know you, I know what you like… — the rough pads of your fingers press on the dry clitoris, sending an unpleasant wave of pleasure through your body. — If you think there's something I can't help you with, then that's not the case. If you need a lover, I'll be him for you, — Gepard's lips press against your hair, and his fingers gently massage the treacherously trembling lump, slowly sliding down between the folds until your brother feels the sparsely released moisture, exhaling contentedly and returning back to the clitoris. — See? Your body reacts to me, doesn't that prove that I'm not just a brother to you?
— Stop it, please… I can't… — you break into sobs, clenching your teeth and closing your eyes in resignation, feeling something hot and hard pushing insistently between your closed thighs. — Please, at least not here…
— Are you afraid that someone will hear us? I sent Eris home, we're alone. Unless your new friend decided to stay and watch.
— I… I'm a virgin, brother, please… — even a whisper sounds so hoarse, coming off your tongue after screams tearing at your throat, but you still find the strength to speak, without losing hope that this will stop Gepard.
— I know. The fact that I'm going to be your first man should finally make you look at me differently, shouldn't it?
— I… don't know… Ng-h! — you cry out in pain as Gepards's hips press against your bruised bottom and his cock penetrates between your thighs before sliding back out, now resting against your narrow entrance.
— It's okay, just trust me, — Gepard says soothingly, gently but persistently pressing on your closed thighs with his knee, effortlessly forcing them apart.
Resilient hot flesh slowly enters the vagina, stretching the virgin walls, and your body is hit by a new, unknown pain. It's too big. You feel your walls bursting at the seams around his cock, indifferently continuing to make its way deep into the vagina, accompanied by your stifled sobs and exhausted screams. The incessant movements of your brother's fingers massaging the clitoris slightly dampen the painful sensations of the first penetration, but this is still not enough.
Gepard's hot breath burns your scalp when it finally enters you completely, stopping for a few seconds, giving you time to get used to it. As if a few measly moments would be enough to get used to the idea of your own brother's cock inside you, whose hands never loosened their grip, holding your wrists firmly against your back.
— Just be patient for a while. I promise this pain will go away, don't you believe me?
You're not answering. Impotence is so disgusting that you feel like you're about to throw up, and maybe Gepard would even stop if it turned you inside out, but it doesn't happen. Your head is so heavy, and even behind your closed eyelids you can feel everything spinning uncontrollably. You are afraid to open your eyes, afraid to believe that what is happening now is real.
But no matter how hard you try to deny it, everything is happening for real. Gepard really carefully kisses the top of your head, really pulls out his cock from your insides, leaving only the head bleeding from the ejaculate in the vagina, then slowly filling you again, and his fingers really massage your clitoris, causing treacherous arousal, from which you are overcome with even greater nausea.
Why are you pleased? Because he's your brother? No, that's not right. You should hate him, should hate yourself for your body not obeying, enjoying the even still slightly painful languid thrusts.
But you… enjoy it.
Every time when Gepard comes out of you, tiny drops of blood seep out, mixed with the transparent juices of treacherous arousal, trickling down your thighs. You hear your brother's voice murmuring reassuringly into your hair, but you can't make out a word, catching only the nasty ringing that has settled in the depths of your ears.
You're so narrow inside, so warm and pleasant, just like Gepard imagined. He's a little embarrassed to admit even to himself that he did sometimes imagine your first sex when he took a shower with you. Your body has changed so much, you have become such a beauty, isn't it natural that he was aroused by your naked body?
And now it belongs to him.
Your brother feels so good that he inevitably becomes greedy, speeding up the pace, just assuming that now you won't be hurt anymore. This bliss that he is experiencing now is so alluring and seductive, he just can't help himself. Of course, Gepard would like this to happen in a more intimate setting, under more pleasant circumstances, but the anger that you made him feel while talking to Sampo has been reborn into this perverted desire that he cannot control.
Just once… Just once, won't you let your brother show weakness?
— No one… I won't let anyone talk to you, see you, touch you anymore… — thoughts break out of Gepard's tongue by themselves, and he doesn't even notice how his thrusts have become rougher, and his groin began to slash into your mutilated ass.
You're so hot, it's so hard to breathe, but what scares you even more is the strangely growing feeling in your lower abdomen. You don't know what it is, but for some reason you are sure that you should not give in to it, you should resist. However, it still wins up over and over again, spreading in scalding waves under the skin.
Your pulse vibrates so clearly under the pads of Gepard's fingers, and something comes out of your strangled throat that sounds more and more like the moans he dreamed of. It's too much, you're too good, too perfect. He can cum inside you, won't you mind? If suddenly you can get pregnant from him… How wonderful your children will be, can you imagine?
A few more careless thrusts, a few rough presses on your clitoris, and your brother feels you clench even tighter around his cock, and your back arches even under the pressure of his hand.
— That's it… Feel it, Y/N... Remember that only I can give you such pleasure… — a restrained moan, more like a growl, escapes from the man's throat, and the last ruthless thrust makes your chest painfully crash into the wall.
Your insides feel numb, but you still feel something viscous filling you when your brother's cock freezes and now pulsates so clearly in the spasming walls.
— You're mine… Do you hear it, Y/N? You belong only to me… — Gepard whispers to you as the last drops of sperm flow out of the urethra of his cock. — I'll never leave you. I'll never betray you. Just don't… don't try to replace me anymore.
You open your eyelids slightly, watching the tears fall from your trembling eyelashes and hit the floor under your feet.
If this isn't a nightmare that looks so disgustingly like reality, then what is?..

"You're helping me enough Caroline, you don't need to worry. Giving me a place to go for a week away from him is exactly what I need. Thank you for everything you've done the last few days." Caroline had invited me to visit her in Mystic Falls the week before graduation. I was relieved as I was able to get away from my abusive mate for a little while, even if it was only for a week.
"I'm glad you think so Y/n, however I've said it before and I'll say it again, you can move down here and never have to go back to him. Think it over, I'll see you later at home, okay? I'll drive you to the airport tomorrow myself." I nodded, sitting in a booth in the grill while Caroline left to join the graduation committee which worked daily over the break which was the same days as the break in Forks. I knew she was super busy getting everything ready for graduation and I didn't mind, as long as I was here and not in Forks, Washington. The last week with my cousin had been great, a vacation in a sense before I go home tomorrow night and am shackled back to that idiot.
I was currently texting Bella who had been turned 2 months prior by her mate. Edward had both Bella and I believing we were his mates when we moved to Forks and that he would die without us, however when Garrett visited Carlisle he found his mate in Bella immediately, nearly killing Edward for trying to claim her as his own. I no longer believe I am Edward's mate as he doesn't treat me like it, nor does he care for me much at all, I'm just his human punching bag, but unless I can find my real mate I am stuck with pussy boy since he told me about the existence of vampires, he is responsible for me. Carlisle and Esme believe Edward whole heartedly that I am his, and as the leaders of the coven what they say goes, therefore Jasper, Alice, Emmett and Rose can't do anything to help me. I tried to get away from him the first time he hit me which was right after Bella was taken away by Garrett, however Edward told Carlisle I was 'being difficult' and Carlisle agreed that he was in his rights to punish me and teach me as he sees fit to be his "Perfect Mate".
I was sitting in a booth, eating lunch and expecting to be alone for the rest of the day without Caroline when a man approached me with a very happy smile on his face, one that was contagious. "Hello there love, are you new in town? I know I would have remembered seeing you before." This man was the definition of sexy and I wanted nothing more than to jump his bones right then.
"Um, not really, I've just been visiting my cousin Caroline for the last week. I'm Y/n Y/L/n." He took my hand in his delicately.
"Niklaus Mikaelson." He introduced, kissing the back of my hand like in one of those cheesy romantic movies, however he really made it attractive. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Do you want to sit?" I offered to him and he smiled wider, taking the seat across from me. There was something about this man that I immediately took a liking to and I wanted to see more of it. "Niklaus, that's an interesting name. Do people call you Nik?"
"Most people call me Klaus actually, but I would love it if you would call me Nik. Can I buy you a drink?" I nodded, smiling at him, trying to figure out if he was flirting with me or just being friendly.
Nik and I talked for the next 3 hours at that table and I have to admit after a few drinks I was a little tipsy.
"Come on kitten, I'll take you home. I don't think you should be walking by yourself." I nodded, standing and holding onto his arm, squeezing his bicep and giggling.
"You're super muscly." He smiled, placing his arm around my waist and walking me outside where it had gotten dark and I didn't even notice. "I can't figure you out Nik, you're like, impossible."
"What do you mean?" He asked as we walked down towards the residential area.
"I mean I can't tell if you're being nice, or you're flirting with me." We were almost to Caroline's house and I damned her for living so close to the grille as we approached the porch.
"What if I was flirting with you?" He sat us down on the front steps and I sighed at his question.
"I would be flattered, it's been a long time since a guy has been this sweet to me, however I need to tell you that I have a boyfriend back home." I expected him to get upset, but he just smiled, not looking at all shocked.
"I expected that, how could someone have not snatched you up by now? I don't understand though how you have a boyfriend but you just said a guy hasn't been as sweet as me in a long time...does this boyfriend not cherish you as you deserve?" I snorted at that and shook my head.
"Edward is...he's an asshole-"
"Then why are you dating him? If he doesn't treat you right, dump him and find someone who will." I shook my head, trying to find a way to explain this without exposing anything.
"I can't dump him, it's complicated and dangerous-"
"Dangerous...is he threatening you Y/n? Tell me and I'll take care of it for you-"
"Please stop...Nik, I don't want to be the reason you get hurt, please, I'm begging you, let it go?" He paused before nodding.
"Fine, I'll let it go for now, but I won't let you go. Come stay with me for the night? No one will ever know." I smiled at the thought of being with Nik for one night before I'm saddled with Edward for eternity.
"Just tonight, I have to be back tomorrow evening to get my plane." I agreed and the smile that lit up Nik's face was amazing. He lives in a mansion! A god damn mansion! I kept my underwear on and borrowed a shirt from him, pulling it on and seeing the blonde man watching intently as I cover my exposed skin. "See something you like?"
"Oh yes love, I like everything I see when I look at you." I laid down on the bed beside him but facing away, pulling the covers up and he leaned closer to me, his fingers trailing their way up my arm, giving me a chill and leaving me covered in goose bumps. "You are the definition of perfection...I hate that that boy takes you for granted-" He pulled me close so we were both laying on our sides, my back pressed against his chest. "-when he should be worshipping the ground you walk on." His fingers found their way around my thigh and up under the shirt I was wearing, massaging over my pantie line delicately.
"Our relationship is expected to be the other way around." I told him, trying to keep my breathing even but failing miserably as I felt my panties dampen.
"Let me show you what your life could be love." I knew he was asking, he wouldn't do anything unless I gave him permission and he was making that very clear, I could see it in his eyes when I looked back at him.
"I've...I've never-"
"It's okay." He cut me off, letting me know he understood. "Let me show you how a King worships his Queen." I couldn't find it in me to do more than breathe the word 'yes' but that was all he needed. He rolled me onto my back but stayed on my side, spreading my thighs and removing the covers from our bodies, leaving me exposed as he pulled his shirt over my head and tossed my panties somewhere.
"Nik-"
"Shh, just relax Y/n. This is all about you, just feel." Cold is what I felt before feeling his lips on my shoulder. His hand found my lower stomach again before caressing his way down slowly, stopping just before he got to where I needed him. He trailed one finger down my pussy making me gasp at the strange sensation, never having felt it before, not even from myself. "Are you alright with this? You can tell me to stop whenever you want to." I shook my head.
"Please don't stop...it's just I've never been touched like this, not even by myself." His eyes went wide and he looked confused. "I was 14 when I met Edward, he said that touching yourself was wrong and my first orgasm should be his when we get married." I was completely embarrassed and Nik seemed to know that, turning my head to face him.
"Well now your first orgasm is going to belong to me. And second, and third, and however many I can get out of you in one night." He smirked, leaning in and kissing me in a way that Edward never did, there was passion and love behind it and that was the moment I realized, after only a few hours of knowing him, I loved this man, it shouldn't be possible but it is and I refused to question it. He continued kissing me as his hand went back to work, pushing one finger inside of me followed by a second. It was an odd feeling but not necessarily uncomfortable. He worked them in and out of me slowly, his thumb trailing back up my slit and finding a spot that made my hips fly off the bed and made me squeal against his mouth. He pulled back, chuckling at my reaction and moving to kiss my neck, making me moan as he nibbled at my skin. I tried to relax my hips but the more Nik's thumb pressed against my clit the harder it got to relax. The 2 fingers inside of me had turned to 3 at some point and as he curled them upwards I gasped, clutching onto the sheets below me as Nik looked up at me smirking. He curled his fingers again slightly and my body jerked making the man do it again. He gradually sped up and as he sped up so did my breathing. I couldn't explain the feeling inside of me that seemed to be building the faster Nik got until I felt like I couldn't handle it anymore. The tension inside of me felt like it had snapped as my hips jerked up and I slapped my hand over my mouth trying to stop the scream that came from me. Nik's hand continued working as this happened and I could never in a million years explain the feeling in words as anything other than ecstasy, ecstasy that lasted for the next 30 seconds and left me gasping for air when it was over.
"I've been missing out on so much." I spoke, still breathing heavily.
"Yes you have love, this is what your boyfriend should be doing for you every day, and there are plenty of ways to go about it, I don't understand why he doesn't. Do you get him off?" I shook my head.
"Edward has never done more than kiss me, and not even the way you kiss me." Nik smirked and I was beginning to love that look on him.
"How do I kiss you?" I considered the difference for a moment and quickly figured out what it was.
"Like you enjoy it...like touching me and kissing me isn't a chore. I believe anything that has to do with physical contact bores Edward." Nik rolled his eyes and groaned.
"Why are you with this boy?" I giggled at the frustration on his face before grimacing as I moved my body.
"Where's your bathroom? I want to clean myself up a little bit, I'm uncomfortable." His eyes snapped back to mine and the mischievous smile on his face was enough to scare me.
"In that case, you're ready for your second orgasm of the night." My eyes widened and I leaned away from him a little before he grabbed me around the waist.
"Nik! Nik, wait! Let me clean up first! What are you doing?" He had turned me so I was laying sideways on the bed with no pillows behind me, pinning my hips down with his hands and leaning over me. "Will you listen to me?!"
"No." He stated simply, connecting our lips firmly and nearly making me forget why I was fighting him in the first place. "Trust me, I'm not yet done worshipping you." He kissed down my throat and chest, making a quick stop at each of my breasts, licking and nibbling at my nipples, and continuing down my stomach, dipping his tongue in my bellybutton which made me giggle and him look up at me. "I love learning more about your body princess, you're ticklish just about everywhere aren't you?" My eyes widened, knowing he would use that against me in the future, as he went back to his descent. He kissed down to my waist before lifting my legs at the knees and kissing up the inside of my thighs. I was delighting in the feel of his soft lips against my thighs when suddenly his tongue was pressing firmly against my clit. I gasped for air, trying to keep breathing as he worked his tongue against my clit every which way, keeping a constant pressure on me that was driving me insane. I opened my eyes and looked down at him as he pulled back, panting, his fingers stroking me as he locked his eyes on mine. "How's that princess? How does that make you feel?"
"It feels amazing! I never imagined something being able to feel this good, please don't stop?!" I pleaded and he smirked, diving right back in, his tongue getting back to work while his hands found my breasts, pinching my nipples between his fingers. I felt that beautiful tension begin to rise in me like last time and I reached my hand down, tangling my fingers in his short blond locks. "Nik...Oh my god! Niklaus!" I shouted his name as my orgasm tore through me, though Nik didn't slow down at all, in fact he sped up, moving his one hand down and inserting 2 fingers, curling them and thrusting them in and out of me, assaulting a spot in me that was making me see stars. I didn't have a second after one orgasm finished to calm down before another one started and I gasped, screaming and grinding myself onto his mouth as he cleaned me up just like he promised.
When he was finished he crawled back up my body, pulling his clothes off and cuddling me to him, wrapping us in the covers. "Did you enjoy your multiple orgasms?" He was smirking and he knew I had loved it, he also knew I couldn't form a sentence right now if life depended on it. "You're beautiful when you come love, simply beautiful. I want to be able to witness it for the rest of my life." I nodded feeling the tiredness from the alcohol and the exhaustion from his fingers and tongue collide and make me close my eyes already near unconsciousness.
"I wish you could." I mumbled, letting sleep take over me.
"Then why can't I? I'll take care of you, give you whatever you want for the rest of eternity...I'll treat you right...Y/n?"
"No Edward, I'm tired and you're cold. Let me sleep." I mumbled, trying to keep the vampire from pulling the blankets off of me like every other morning when I heard a short chuckle.
"What? You're half asleep aren't you. Y/n, I'm not-"
"Leave me to sleep, if you hit me again I'll yell for Jasper and he'll kick your vampire ass." I growled, shoving the hand from my shoulder.
"Vampire...Y/n, I need you to explain right now." I felt Edwards hand on my waist and pushed it away again, rolling over.
"I'm don't want to be your mate Edward, stop touching me!" I heard a low growling but the hands stopped after that and I continued to sleep.
~~~~
I awoke the next morning feeling great and I had slept straight through the night, something I hadn't done since I found out Edward liked to watch me sleep at night. I stood from the bed, pulling on my underwear and Nik's discarded shirt. I opened the bedroom door to the smell of breakfast cooking. I turned the corner to see Nik putting the box of eggs back into the refrigerator and I tip-toed up behind him only for him to spin around and lift me into the air. "Jerk! You're just like Emmett, no one can sneak up on you can they?" I kissed his cheek and stole a piece of bacon, biting into it.
"No, they can't, but to be fair, I'm the oldest vampire known to man-" I cut him off by choking on my bacon, coughing until he pat my back and I swallowed it completely.
"That wasn't funny Nik." I sat on the barstool and looked at him to see he wasn't laughing. "You're actually being serious?" He nodded once but said nothing else. "Why are you telling me this?"
"Well, it seems only fair, you told me you were mated to a vampire last night." My eyes went wide as I realized.
"I talk in my sleep too often to sleep anywhere but home apparently...Well, I suppose you knowing is better. I was dreading having to tell you 'Hey Nik, I'm in love with you but I can't be with you and I can't tell you why'."
"Right, you can't be with me because you let yourself be mated to someone who is not your mate. That makes it hurt so much less. Now, after 1000 years of searching for you, I still end up completely alone." Okay, now I'm officially confused.
"Let myself...you think I would ever let him do anything to me? He lied to me and my friend Bella the day we met him, told us we were his mates, we were 14 years old, and completely human, how were we supposed to know it wasn't true!? It's not like he can do anything until we're turned anyway, then Bella has to find Garrett, her real mate, he changes her and she leaves me with Edward all alone. He loses his fucking mind, starts beating the crap out of me, Carlisle and Esme won't do anything though cause they think I'm his mate, he tells them I'm 'difficult' and they just let him go on hitting me, like it's completely fine, like he's just molding me into the perfect mate. Jasper and Alice want to help me, Emmett and Rose want to help me but they can't go against Carlisle, he saved them, they owe him. Now I get to go home today after meeting the perfect guy and completely falling in love with him in a matter of hours, to go to a high school graduation tomorrow and then I get to burn for 3 days and spend the rest of my life sparkling like a fucking disco ball all because I moved to the rainiest town in the US and some 100 year old virgin vampire decided to ruin my life!" By the time I had finished ranting I had paced back and forth across the living room 4 times and collapsed against a wall, sobbing and unable to stop.
"They're not vampire's love, you're talking about cold ones. They drink blood but they can hardly be called vampires." I looked at Nik who was now kneeling in front of me. "Cold ones can't mate with humans, they need to change them first-"
"Which is what Edward is going to do to me tomorrow night, he's going to change me and-"
"No."
"No?" I asked, confused.
"No. You're my mate love, I thought you had already been marked by a vampire, in which case we wouldn't be able to be together. See real vampires have a small amount of venom where cold ones have venom instead of blood. Our venom can only be used once and that is to mark our mate. I thought you had been marked by another one of my kind, in which case I wouldn't be able to mark you as mine-"
"But since I haven't been you can and I can be with you?" He nodded and I grinned, launching myself forward and into his arms. "I thought I was going to have to spend the rest of my existence with an idiot who beats me."
Nik held onto me for the next few minutes, just letting me cry. “I would never have let that happen to you, even if I couldn’t mark you.”
"If vampires can only mark their mates how would I have been marked by anyone else?"
"You can mark anyone, in fact it's become a thing to mark the first person a vampire loves and not wait for their mates. I've spent 1000 years waiting for you."
"No pressure." I joked and he smiled.
"None at all, you are perfect, at least you are when you get rid of all the cold one problems, and I plan to very soon. Step one to my plan is to get a ticket on the plane you're getting on tonight." I was confused as he led me to the table and put my plate of breakfast in front of me.
"Why? I don't need to graduate, I can just stay here with you and never go back to see him again."
"You're graduating, and don't worry, we'll come back here afterwards, after I talk with this coven leader about how to identify mates, and after I kill Edward Cullen." I was thrilled with that and Nik and I spent the rest of the day talking, getting to know each other. He explained his family and how he became a vampire, having broken his curse, killed Mikael and freed his family only months ago while I explained Bella and I, the Volturi (who apparently knew my mate very well) and the Cullen's, of which he promised not to hurt the 4 who actually helped me. "I think the animal diet is going to their heads, it's the only think I can think." He told me as we sat on the plane that night. "One thing I can't get out of my head is what you said about Jasper."
"What about him? I don't know all that much about what he did before he and Alice came to find Carlisle, he doesn't go into detail when I'm around. I know that he trained Newborns." Nik's eyes widened and he smiled as I said this.
"Jasper Whitlock. Maria's right hand, I remember him. Maria and I had a few dealings when Katerina was on the run through Mexico a century ago. Good soldier, definitely not a man I want around you though." I could see the worry on his face and resisted asking questions I knew Jasper didn’t want me to know.
"Jasper is different now. He told me stories about what he was like back then, and honestly it doesn't shock me. After so many years of slaughter and carnage, how do you not lose your humanity? He has Alice now and she saved him, feeds on animals so he doesn't feel the emotions of the people he eats, plus Alice is a happy, upbeat fairy like girl, he feeds off of that energy, keeps him from being depressed I suppose. You'll like Jasper as he is now, he's my best friend. I think you'll like Emmett too, he looks tough but he's a big teddy bear. One of them usually stays in or nearby my room when I sleep at night."
"Why?" Nik wondered, looking at me worriedly.
"I have nightmares, I haven't slept all the way through a night since I came to Forks 4 years ago, also I'm scared of Edward."
"In your sleep?"
"When I'm not expecting it..." It took him a moment to figure out what I was talking about.
"You're afraid of him raping you?" I nodded.
"Just because he hasn't doesn't mean he won't. It probably won't happen, I just think it's better to be safe than sorry. Jasper and Emmett just think it's because they keep the nightmares away." He looked at me completely heart broken.
"That's not something you should have to say about someone you live with. You shouldn't be scared of something like that in your own home. I promise you that no man besides me will ever put his hands on you again. You're safe with me, I swear it."
"I know I am, I slept all the way through the night last night. I trust you Nik and I felt safe even when I thought you were completely human." He leaned over the armrest, kissing my forehead and pulling me close, allowing me to nap on his chest until we got to Port Angeles. It was nearly midnight and I was supposed to get a room for the night in the hotel down the street and be picked up by Jasper tomorrow.
I watched Nik get us a hotel room before I stepped up and used Carlisle's card to get my own. "What are you doing?" Nik asked.
"Edward will check the card to make sure of where I'm staying, he will also ask the workers so don't let them see you talking to me." He nodded, taking his bag and walking off to the elevator.
"Friend of yours?" The man behind the desk asked as he came back with my room key and I smiled.
"Not really, we realized we were going to the same hotel at the airport and shared a cab, he's a nice guy I suppose." I shrugged, taking the key and walking off. I got to my room and immediately called Jasper to tell him I was safe.
"Good, I was starting to worry about you a little bit Kid, you didn't call at all today. You always check in with me."
"I know Jazz, I'm sorry. It was just hard saying goodbye to my friends, knowing that it really was goodbye." I hated lying to him but I knew if any of them got wind of Niklaus Mikaelson being my mate Edward and most likely Carlisle and Esme would be gone.
"I understand kid, I really do, but you know you've got us."
"Always Jazz? No matter what happens, right? You're always my brother?" I needed the reassurance, though I believed Jasper would quickly forgive me for what was going to happen tomorrow, all of them would.
"Always Kid, you know that. Edward is on the phone with the man at reception, told him you shared a cab with a man you talked to in the lobby which he is pissed about, and that you're in your room for the night. Edward said to leave you a wakeup call for 4:30 like normal."
"I don't even need to be at the school until noon. Come get me at 11, okay Jasper? I'll shower and get ready here, all I need you to bring is my cap and gown." I really just wanted to sleep in with Nik but I knew Jasper was good for keeping his promise.
"You got it Y/n, I'll see you then. Get some sleep."
"Night cowboy." I hung up the phone and quickly grabbed my bag, leaving the room and getting the elevator to the top floor, because of course Nik would get the penthouse suite when we're only here for a night. I knocked on the door and Nik was answering it a second later, pulling me into his arms. "Well hello to you too, I realize we haven't seen each other in a whole 5 minutes but try to control yourself." I teased and he mock glared.
"I don't like not being right next to you while you're still unmarked, and I also don't like having to wait until tomorrow to-"
"Good news. I talked to Jasper and I got him to pick me up at 11 tomorrow, I don't even need to see Edward before graduation. It'll piss him off but it's not like he can do anything about it until after graduation anyway. I did that all so that you can mark me right here, right now, so you don't have to feel anymore anxiety about it." He grinned, leaning down to connect our lips. "I just want us to start our forever together. Also, I texted Bella, her and Garrett will be there to see me graduate tomorrow, I'm inviting them back to the house afterwards where you will be waiting, heads up, you might have to let Garrett get a hit or 2 in with Edward."
"I suppose I can allow that, the man deserves it after all." Nik walked me into the kitchen where he handed me a long island iced tea like the ones I drank at the grill, making me smile.
"I'm really glad I don't have to give up eating and drinking when I become a vampire. When I called Jazz, Edward was on the phone with the front desk. I told the guy that we shared a cab from the airport and Edward was pissed. God forbid I be dating him and talk to someone else with a penis." Nik snorted.
"I hate to say this in his favor, but you did sleep with said man." I took a sip of my drink, pointing at him.
"True, but I only slept with you, I have yet to actually use your dick. I mean the only person who has gotten any kind of sexual gain from this relationship so far has been me." He shrugged.
"I don't know, I mean I did jack off with you in mind last night, I had to do something, you fell asleep and left me with a major erection." At this point I couldn't hold in the laughter at our conversation anymore and neither could he.
"Well, I think I should remedy my actions, don't you?" His eyes darkened and I grinned, jumping up and running towards the bedroom, being lifted bridal style half way there and thrown on the bed. "Oh my god this bed is amazing." I marveled, loving the silk sheets before hearing a growl and seeing my already half naked hybrid impatiently waiting. "Sorry, it's not every day I stay in a penthouse suite."
"Well you will from now on or maybe the honeymoon suite instead." I considered that, loving the idea as I pulled my shirt and jeans off, kissing Nik who crawled on top of me quickly, ripping off my bra and panties. "I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love your pussy." He laid me back, removing his boxers and spreading my legs. "Are you ready?" I nodded.
"Where do you want to mark me?"
"Here, That way I'll be the only one to ever see it, others can smell it and that's fine but it's supposed to be personal, I think right over your heart is perfect." I agreed with him completely.
"Only if I get to mark you in the same place." He smiled, connecting our lips before pushing straight into me. The stretching hurt but it wasn't too bad and passed fairly quickly, allowing me to let him move. The moment he started moving I knew I was done for, I don't know if it's a sex thing or a mate thing considering this is my first time but I know I'm going to become addicted to this. Nik was very slow in his movements and I couldn't decide if he was trying not to hurt me or if this was somehow just as good for him as it was for me. "Nik?"
He opened his eyes and looked at me shocked, as if he only just realized he wasn't alone and I giggled. "I had been told...but I never believed it. Sex with your mate is supposed to be the pleasure of any other time multiplied by 100. Fucking hell Y/n!" He cursed, lifting one of my legs over his shoulder and moving faster, continuing to curse like crazy. I quickly got frustrated with the fact that I couldn't move at all in this position, dropping my leg and pinning him to my chest, rolling over so I was now on top. I bent my knees at his sides and placed my hands on his chest so I could use it as leverage to move. "I love this position." He told me and I giggled as he watched my tits bouncing up and down as I did.
"Oh god, so close Nik, fuck!" I was practically sobbing at this point, begging any and every deity in existence for release and Nik gave it to me as he took hold of my hips he began thrusting up into me as I dropped down. "Holy Fuck!" I screamed, my orgasm hitting me at the exact moment his did and he dug his fangs into my left breast. "I love you Nik, so fucking much!"
The venom burned slightly once I had come down from my high, though I didn't mind, it just let me know it was working. He stayed attached to me for another 2 minutes before pulling back, his mouth covered in blood and some other clear liquid that I'm assuming is his venom. "I love you too kitten, and I can't wait until I can change you so I won't have to hold back anymore." I looked up at him shocked.
"That was you holding back? Cause if it was change me now, I need to know what you not holding back is like." He smiled, pulling me close to kiss him before laying back against the pillows, pulling me to his chest. "I just want to stay like this forever, can we do that? Naked, in bed, just the 2 of us. Room service and silk sheets. This is perfect, right here, right now."
"It will be even more perfect when you're a vampire too, naked, in bed, just the 2 of us, room service, silk sheets and in Paris." I lifted my head from his chest and grinned.
"Paris, really? You mean it?!" He chuckled, nodding.
"Of course love, anywhere you want to go. I'll propose sometime after you change and we will go on an extended honeymoon, We'll travel everywhere."
"And have sex in every country?" I teased making him laugh but nod. "Can we go to Venice? I've always wanted to go to Venice, and the Caribbean."
"Of course we can. Anywhere you want, I told you yesterday, you deserve to be treasured, I will spend the rest of our existence worshipping the ground that you walk on. You will want for nothing in my presence because I want you, need you, I will spend every minute of every day loving you. The past few years of your life have been shitty, but I promise your future is going to be better." I had tears in my eyes and I felt like I couldn't stop crying as I held onto him.
"That was beautiful Nik, no one has ever said anything like that to me before. I don't think I can really say anything close to that meaningful to you, but I can say that the loneliness you've felt for the last 1000 years is over. You will never be alone again Niklaus, I promise, I will be here for you till the end of eternity." I leaned in, pressing my lips to his, this kiss being different than any we had had so far, it held every promise we had made to each other and every ounce of love in our hearts.
I was awoken the next morning to the sunlight shining in my eyes. I looked at the alarm clock and saw it was 8 in the morning making me realize I should probably just stay up. I sat up from Nik's chest and looked back at him, smiling before smirking as I noticed his erection pressed under the sheet that was over us. I ducked down under the sheet and moved slowly as not to wake him, kneeling between his legs and pressing my tongue against him, licking up his shaft before taking him in my hand. I licked over the head, tasting the precum that oozed out before taking him in between my lips slowly, inch by inch until he hit the back of my throat. When he was all the way in my mouth I swallowed around him, feeling his body jolt and knowing he was now awake before making a gagging sound and easing him back out.
"Y/n?!"
"Who else would it be?" I asked before deep throating him yet again. I bobbed my head up and down a few times before Nik threw the sheet off of me, somehow getting harder as he saw me.
"Fuck Y/n!" I continued bobbing my head up and down, swirling my tongue around his head every now and again until I got it in me to relax my throat and push him all the way back, swallowing and moaning to cause vibrations. "Shit! Shit baby, stop...Y/n, that's enough." I pulled my mouth off just as he started cumming, allowing him to come on my face.
"It would have just been easier to swallow it." I mumbled, feeling it dripping down my naked chest.
"Well, I didn't plan on cumming on your face love."
"Where did you plan on cumming?"
"I didn't, you woke me up with your sexy mouth around my cock."
"Oh yeah." I giggled, sitting up. "I just planned on swallowing it. However I need to get into the shower so I suppose this is okay." I hopped up off of the bed and walked into the bathroom, starting the water and stepping into it, letting the sticky substance wash from my body before stepping completely under the water and wetting my hair. I went to pick up the shampoo I had brought with me but found nothing, when I opened my eyes and looked it was where it was supposed to be. Suddenly there were hands on my head and I felt Nik scrubbing my shampoo in making me smile. "Your hands are magical, I swear."
"So is your mouth love." I giggled at that as Nik rinsed my hair out before grabbing the conditioner. I squeezed shampoo onto my hand and quickly lathered his head up since he only had a little bit of hair, before rinsing it while Nik ran his conditioner covered fingers through my locks. "I love washing your hair for you."
"That's good because I love you washing my hair, it works out." We spent an hour in the shower together washing each other, sharing kisses and innocent touches here and there until we needed to get out. By that time it was a little after 9:30 and I began blow drying my hair and styling it half up and half down with some curls in it. I dressed in a short dark blue dress that came to my mid-thigh and blue heels since it was a special day. We ordered breakfast and ate together, just talking until 11.
"I'll leave a few minutes after you." I shook my head.
"Walk me to Jasper's car, I'm going to tell him now, that way he's not shocked later and can actually calm people down." Nik nodded thoughtfully but ultimately decided I was right. Jasper was pulling up just as we walked out and Nik handed me my bag. "I'll see you later, right?"
"Of course, I'll be watching." He gave me a quick peck on the cheek before leaving me to step into Jasper's mustang.
"Alright darlin'. What's going on?" I put my bag in the back and sighed as he began driving.
"I don't want to lie to you Jazz, you're the closest thing I have to a real brother, but if I tell you, I need you to keep your mouth shut until after graduation. Can you do that?" He nodded, knowing just by feeling how I feel that I was serious and desperate. "That was my mate. He's a traditional."
"Thank god!" Jasper exclaimed and I looked at him strangely. "What? I don't want you to be with Edward forever darlin'. I want more for you and that man put a smile on your face with just a simple kiss to your cheek. I want to meet him though, I'm your big brother, threatening the boyfriend is my job, though I must admit, he looks strangely familiar." I decided not to mention how my mate could snap him in half like a twig, or the fact that he knew Maria and just nodded.
"He's coming to the house after graduation. Don't think about it, I don't need Edward knowing." He nodded.
"Of course darlin', that's a given. Were you with him all night?" I nodded, pulling down the front of my dress to show him my mark. "Well, he's sure a quick fucker isn't he?"
"I met him in Mystic Falls 2 days ago. I didn't know he was a vampire when I went home with him." Jasper rolled his eyes at that.
"You and Bella, the twin danger magnets." I giggled at his joke as we got closer to the high school.
"Bella is coming today by the way."
"Well, I look forward to seeing her and not wanting to drain her dry."
"I'm sure you do." We talked mindlessly about things for the rest of the car ride until we got to the school. People were already being seated on the fields' bleachers when we arrived. I grabbed my cap and gown from the trunk and waved as I saw Bella and Garrett sitting in the front row.
"What did you do?" I jumped as I heard the voice next to me and turned to see Edward behind me. He grabbed ahold of my arm and dragged me into the school, away from everyone else. I knew right away I was in trouble as there was no way Klaus was here yet and Jasper had walked off to find Alice. "Bella is here with that beast on her arm! You are the only one who would do something so stupid as to invite them here!"
"I wanted my best friend to be here for my graduation, I-" I was cut off by being shoved back into the wall behind me, cracking my head against the cement and immediately getting light headed. "Edward, please I-"
"Shut Up!" He shouted, smacking me across the face, making my head snap to the side. "Now I have to put up with watching the girl I love walking around with another man and know that she's given herself to that monster." I opened my mouth to reply and tell the truth about having given myself away too but he spoke first. "The only reason you're still alive is your purity. I won't have anything less than a virgin when I mate with you, which is going to be today. You and I are getting married right after graduation, congratulations Y/n, it's your wedding day." I was completely frozen at this point but I knew I needed to do something soon. I ran down the hallway to my locker and grabbed my makeup bag that I kept here, running back to the bathroom and expertly covering my black and blue nose after cleaning off the blood. Thankfully the back of my head isn't bleeding but I'm definitely going to need Nik's blood when this graduation is over. I tossed the makeup bag into the trash, knowing I wasn't coming back to this place for shit and stumbled out to find my seat. I could see Bella looking at me worriedly along with Garrett and I knew if she could tell something was wrong then where ever Nik was he sure as hell could too. I dizzily sat through all the speeches and somehow got the strength to stand and walk across the stage to get my diploma before falling back into my seat. By the time graduation was over I felt like I was going to die but I pushed myself to get up and make it over to Bella before Edward made it to me.
"Hey Bells, how are you?" She hugged me to her immediately, looking slightly on edge around so many people but quickly got over it.
"I'm great. Happy, finally...how are you?" I smiled.
"About to be a lot better. You're coming over for a while right?" Garrett and she looked at one another. "Trust me, you're not going to want to miss this." They looked confused but I pointed at my head and they immediately understood that I didn't want Edward knowing.
"Yeah, we'll head there now." I smiled, hugging Garrett slightly and feeling a burning coming from my mark making me acknowledge the fact that Nik didn't like me hugging Garrett. I waved before making my way to Jasper's car, only to have my arm grabbed.
"Where are you going love?" I cringed as he called me that, he never called me that.
"Don't call me that Edward." I insisted, making several students look at us. "You know I don't like that nickname...babe." I cringed again. "I'm riding home with Jasper-"
"I told Carlisle to meet us at our field to ordain us, Esme is going to be the witness, get into my car." He growled and I felt scared but it immediately disappeared as my mark began to burn again.
"You can tell Carlisle that if we're getting married it will be at home with our family, where my best friends can be there, and thank you for the offer but I will ride with Jasper. I'll see you at home Edward." I said it all loudly enough that plenty of people heard, therefor he couldn't just drag me to his car and he knew it. I knew there were bruises on my arm as I got into the passenger seat of Jaspers car. Jasper got in not a moment later and looked at me concerned. "What?" I asked and he looked at me like I was an idiot.
"Are you alright? Where is Nik, I thought he would-"
"Home Jasper. Home." He nodded, starting the car and driving off. By the time we got there everyone else was already there and waiting in the living room. I wiped the makeup off in the mirror and heard Jasper growling immediately. "Nik?" I questioned as we got out and I felt calm, comforted, knowing it was okay and I was safe as I walked inside with Jasper.
"There she is, I poured you a drink to celebrate love, careful though, you know how you get with alcohol." I knew he had drugged it, he's done it 100 other times, so this time I decided not to drink it.
"Yes Edward, I do know how I get. Especially 2 days ago over drinks with one of Caroline's friends. He bought me a few drinks and we slept together." I admitted, putting the glass on the table, seeing everyone's shocked faces. "It was amazing, really, even better the next day completely sober." There was an audible silence in the room, the entire family now listening intently as well as Bella and Garrett who were both grinning at me. "I'm sure it'll be just as great later tonight when I'm finally rid of you." He wanted to hurt me, I know he did but he wouldn't dare strike me with Jasper and Emmett around.
"Y/n, I'm hurt that you would do that to me but I'm sure we can talk this out and move passed it-"
"I don't want to move passed it, I don't want to be with you, hell will freeze over before I will marry you, in fact just being in the same room as you makes me physically ill and I think it's time I tell everyone in this room the truth. I don't love Edward, never have, never will. He's been lying to all of you about me just like he lied about Bella."
Everyone in the room snarled besides Carlisle and Esme. "You remember what I told you I would do to you if you ever did this again kid?" Garrett snarled at him.
"Oh, It won't only be Edward getting hurt today, Garrett. Carlisle, Esme, would you like to tell everyone what's been going on in your home?" They looked at me puzzled but I think they both knew there was no escaping this. "Jasper, Emmett, I lied to you both. Every time I told you I was fine, every time I was hurt and I told you I was just clumsy. Edward has been beating me almost daily since the day Bella left." Emmett went to lunge at him but was caught by Rose who seemed to want to hear the rest. Edward tried to go for the door but Jasper and Alice blocked their exit, Rose and Emmett moving to the other so no one could leave while Bella and Garrett moved to my sides so no one could harm me while I continued. "Edward told Carlisle I was 'difficult' so he allowed him to do whatever he had to, to turn me into the perfect obedient mate. Edward was planning to take me away after graduation and force me to marry him, force me to mate with him so there would be no way I could ever leave him, he just didn't know he was a day too late. Emmett, Jazz, every night I begged you to stay with me, not to leave to hunt, to leave me alone in a house with Edward, it wasn't because you kept the nightmares away, it was because I was terrified he would get it into his head one day to force me to mate with him when no one was there to stop him...I was terrified to go to sleep at night, you were the only people in the world who made me feel safe." My mark was practically on fire at this point and I knew Nik was restraining himself from coming in here, wanting me to get it all out while they were still listening. "I want to thank you guys for that, you got me to this point and now I don't have to be scared anymore."
"This doesn't change anything, you still need to be turned and I'll still claim you as my mate when you are. What did this little temper tantrum get you?" Edward laughed.
"Your attention, you all to listen to me for once, just once, before I let my mate kill you." Everyone in the room except Jasper was now confused and looking at me until the front door slammed open. I saw Jasper flinch and I knew he could feel how intense Nik's anger truly was as he walked up the stairs and turned the corner, coming into everyone's view. Carlisle gasped, though he was the only one who seemed to know who Nik really was, Edward gasping as he read Carlisle's mind.
"Do you feel better love? Getting it off your chest must have helped quite a bit." I nodded slowly, careful not to jostle my aching head. Nik took my face into his hands, seeing the bruise, feeling this bump on the back on my head and sighing, letting his fangs grow out and biting into his hand. Rose, Esme, Alice, Bella and Emmett gasped, not knowing there was another kind of vampire in the world though Garrett now looked a lot more on alert, holding Bella behind him, not like he was ready to fight but like he was ready to flee. I took his injured hand into my mouth and drank slowly, letting my injuries heal before everyone's eyes. "For those of you who don't know my name is Niklaus Mikaelson. Most people call me Klaus now a days. I am of the original family, one of the first vampires to walk the earth 1000 years ago." No one spoke, no one moved, everyone was trying to figure out who was in trouble and who wasn't. "The only people I'm here to harm are Edward, Carlisle and Esme, everyone else can calm down." They visually did. "Everyone else was a friend to my mate when she needed it and I thank you all for that, especially Jasper and Emmett. If you ever need anything, I owe you." They nodded. "You however, you're going to die today." Edward had been dragged over to sit beside Carlisle and Esme on the couch. "You I have no real issue with except your gross tolerance of the awful things done to someone you considered your child." He spoke to Esme. "However you did not hurt her yourself, therefore I have no reason to make you suffer." As he finished his sentence her head was rolling across the floor and Carlisle began screaming. "You allowed your son...in fact, encouraged your son to hurt my mate...why? That's all I want to know, why did you sit by and watch her suffer?"
"Edward wanted her, I told him he could have whoever and whatever he wanted when I changed him, that's why he stayed with me at first, then Esme wanted a son, I gave him whatever he wanted so he wouldn't leave and break her heart. What would you do for your mates happiness?" He snarled but Nik laughed.
"Anything, but you see, the difference between us is my mate wouldn't let someone else hurt so that she could have what she wanted. She's a good person, I'm not, but she is. And I will never let anyone hurt her, that is my promise to her." Nik took a little longer with Carlisle, tearing all of his limbs off before finally removing his head. "Now you see, the thing is I don't want to know your reasons, they're probably crazy and deranged but there's one thing I do want, and that's to tell you that you lose." Edward growled loudly and I couldn't keep the smile from my face. "She wins, I win, and do you know what I won?" Nik paused, knowing exactly what was going to piss Edward off the most. "I won that perfect innocence you tried to preserve." Edwards eyes were practically on fire as Nik told him that. "She gave it to me happily, freely." Jasper grabbed Edward as he tried to jump at Nik, though my mate didn't even flinch.
"I'm confused, what did Edward want?" Emmett asked and I rolled my eyes.
"Edward told me about how he was engaged before he got sick as a human, the women cheated on him and gave herself to his friend before their wedding day, the day before their wedding was the day he went into the hospital." I explained. "He was obsessed with having a girl who was completely his, innocent and pure, and it is truly an obsession. I told Nik, I wasn't even allowed to touch myself. The fact that I'm Nik's makes it even harder for Edward I suppose, and makes Nik's ego even larger."
"If that's possible." Bella spoke to me and I laughed, high fiving her.
"I'm right here love." I shrugged. "Garrett, would you like to take some shots before I end him?" Garrett jumped up, fully prepared to give Edward the beating of his life for hurting his mate. "Feeling better love?" I nodded, leaning into Nik contently about to press my lips to his when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. "What is it?"
"Pity it has to go to waste." The archway that had been for the wedding I was supposed to be a part of today was decorated with white flowers and ribbon. "Esme did a nice job, it's pretty."
"Well...I suppose we don't have to let it go to waste..." I looked up at Nik who was smirking down at me, pulling a ring off of his hand and looking to me. "You can pick one you like later...what do you say?" I was stunned at his forwardness but figured I shouldn't be.
"You want to get married, right now?" Nik nodded and I grinned. "Jasper, you got ordained for Garrett and Bella's wedding right?" Jasper looked up from where Garrett was beating Edward with his own foot and nodded.
"Yes, it's good for 10 years, why?" I looked up at Nik, content with how my life had changed in only 2 days.
"What do you say love?"
"I do."
Yo! Special delivery! *kicks down door*
So it’s safe to assume that TFP Soundwave has lost Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Frenzy, and Rumble and only had Laserbeak left. One could only imagine how much pain and grief that brings Soundwave but his Carrier codes must be going insane at the sight of humans given that cassettes and humans are ruffle the same height and are chaotic in nature.
I also imagine that his codes go crazy at the sight of children, so~ add Jack, Raf, and Miko to a still grieving Soundwave, who’s protocols are SCREAMING at him that those three cassette sparklings need him.
I LOVE this idea. Thank you for throwing this request at me! Now I have an excuse to write about my fav spy master.
Organic Cassette Sparklings
To Soundwave, his cassettes were his everything. His mind and body belonged to the Decepticons and Megatron, but his spark was only for his little ones. As such the loss of his cassettes one by one in short succession very nearly drove him mad from grief. He was blessed to still have Laserbeak, but she was also suffering from the loss of her brothers.
Soundwave thought time would heal the wounds in his spark, but it didn't. It anything, the pain from the loss of so many of his cassettes grew worse as if time was an infection slowly festering within his shattered self. By the time he arrived on earth, he was so lost that he could hardly think beyond his orders, his sense of being so broken that he couldn't bring himself to care. The only reason he still marched onward was because of Laserbeak, his last remaining cassette. But sometimes even she wasn't enough, sometimes he just wanted everything to end- to return to silence.
On those days he left the nemesis behind and went to the ground to try and shake his thoughts. It didn't work all that often, but it was better than the sickening monotony of his room on the nemesis and the constant problems that always popped up. More often than not he just wandered around the area nearest to the nemesis's coordinates. But after being deployed on a mission on the ground for the first time in centuries, Soundwave found himself stunned as his instincts screamed at him.
Right in front of him were three small organics, human children he knew to be under the care of the Autobots. But as he looked upon their terrified faces and their small shaking forms, all he could see were three cassette sparklings that needed a carrier to protect and nurture them. He would have snatched them up right then and there if it weren't for orders coming straight from Megatron demanding he return. Even then he still hesitated, taking a photo of the children and burning every detail of their forms into his processors for later analysis. And when all was said and done and Soundwave was back on the nemesis, he actually felt alive for once. Laserbeak felt similarly after looking at the images taken of the children. Soundwave wanted to care for cassettes, his carrier instincts demanded it, and Laserbeak wanted siblings. They agreed and soon after threw aside anything not related to finding a way to get the human children in their possession, or at least find a way to gain interaction with them.
It was a difficult thing to figure out, mainly because organics require different care than cassettes, but Soundwave spent weeks dutifully reading parenting books, biology texts, phycology papers, education documents, and medical websites until he felt sure of himself. Then he slowly began accumulating things small organic cassettes would need. Laserbeak did most of the collecting (not that she minded), often bringing soft fabrics, the odd piece of furniture, and enough canned food to last a nuclear winter. Then once they got everything in order, Soundwave made his move, heading to every battle secretly to watch and see if the human children were present or not. And this he did for months until at last the opportunity came, one he did not miss.
Taking care to ensure none saw him, Soundwave snatched up the human children and hurriedly put them into his carrying chamber which he had fixed up beforehand to not be harmful to the children. Then before anyone could react, (Autobot or Decepticon) Soundwave took to the air and returned to the nemesis as if he had never left. Not even Megatron suspected a thing as Soundwave stalked back to his chambers, locked the door, let Laserbeak get settled, and finally pulled the children out.
They were decidedly unhappy if their screams were anything to go by. But Soundwave expected such a response, Rumble and Frenzy behaved similarly when he first took them in as well. Soundwave was accustomed to having to take things slow and let his little cassettes warm up to him. Besides, he had spent plenty of time learning what humans needed. He was feeling fairly confident in his ability to have the children relax around him eventually. And for six whole months, Soundwave had the children in his care, unknown to anyone and kept safely hidden away where only he and laserbeak knew.
Rafael was the first to warm up to Soundwave, caving in around two weeks into being under Soundwave's supervision. Soundwave paid special attention to him due to his need for glasses and his young age. The spy master was very dutiful in collecting food that met all of the nutritional requirements of human adolescents, and he took extra care to ensure Rafael was always able to get to his glasses. He would regularly pat Rafael on the head, ruffling his hair with gentleness reserved for his cassettes. He would teach Rafael bits and pieces of Cybertronian while also ensuring that the boy was taught things the human documents said were normal for his age group. This task was not at all hard considering the relative simplicity of human education, so Soundwave may or may not have thrown a few more advanced subjects into the boy's education as well.
Rafael for his part adapted well to being in Soundwave's care. He learned quickly that no harm would come to him and came to even enjoy being with Soundwave even if he longed to return to the ground and the Autobots. He was fond of Soundwave and took pride in doing things Cybertronian young performed, which always earned him a loving nuzzle from his originally unwanted Cybertronian caretaker. Laserbeak for her part loved to sit with Rafael during his studies and play games with him, mainly some form of ball or a version of chess not too dissimilar from the human version. All in all, Rafael was content, if a little cooped up.
Miko was the second child to crack as she came to find herself enjoying listening to music with Soundwave and being caught before she could escape. While at first it was a desperate bid for freedom, it turned into a game and even a learning experience as Soundwave taught her how to better hide and use her size to her advantage in combat. By the time month three rolled around, she was invested in her studies with Soundwave and regularly sat on his shoulder to listen to music with him, often singing along happily and play fighting with Laserbeak. She hated being cooped up, but she liked being able to watch what happened on the nemesis, even going so far as to suggest funny pranks to Soundwave (who on occasion actually implemented the pranks because it was what his little cassette wanted).
Soundwave always took great care to foster Miko's musical capabilities, teaching her songs from Cybertron and showing her how to play sized down versions of their instruments. And while he did school her in other things, music was her passion and he did not take that from her, instead encouraging it and helping her to channel it into something practical. She was a small organic cassette, she needed a defense, so Soundwave gave her a set of blasters which would hook up to her instrument. Of course he kept it offline or at a low setting, but Miko loved the gift nonetheless. She especially came to love using it in mock battles with Laserbeak who would play dead to give Miko the gratification of victory.
Jack was the last to crack, taking nearly four months before he fully accepted Soundwave's affection. Soundwave took extra care of Jack's emotional state, mainly because it reminded him greatly of Frenzy, his emotionally scarred and battered cassette. He went to great lengths to make Jack comfortable and to help the boy work through his panic attacks and other mental issues. And surprisingly, Soundwave's attempts began to work, even helping Jack gain confidence as he tutored him in all sorts of subjects. Before long Jack was flourishing academically and showing an interest in combat after seeing Miko do so well. Soundwave offered his little organic cassette a set of energon blades in response, ones which he quickly began showing him how to use. And after only a month or so, Jack was proficient in their usage without having anything aside from the school work Soundwave assigned him to do.
Jack came to love simply sitting with Soundwave quietly, watching the security feed with him and sometimes discussing old stories and his problems. Soundwave of course always listened, never speaking up and instead letting Jack vent all his frustrations patiently. In his mind, Jack really was just like Frenzy, a tough exterior with a soft interior personality wise. And just like with Frenzy, Soundwave was patient and offered all the companionship and comfort in the world when Jack felt comfortable enough to speak with him. Laserbeak also came to love having Jack lay against her side as they watched a film or something of the sort, even purring to him when he had nightmares when he fell asleep by accident.
To Soundwave everything was going perfectly. He finally had cassettes to look after and they were opening up to him far faster than anticipated. He was ecstatic. But as will all good things, it came to an end too quickly for his liking when an attack on the nemesis forced Soundwave to put the children in his carrying chamber and hurry out of his quarters. By some means, the Autobots had confirmed that the human children were on the nemesis and they were angry. Soundwave ran for his life as he sprinted down the halls, heading for the upper decks to escape capture and to get his human cassettes to safety. But that was not to be. Before long the Autobots found him, having locked onto the human children's life signal stemming from him.
He tried to fight, but with the children in his carrying chamber, he eventually accepted capture and was dragged back to the Autobot base. When there he was strapped down and interrogated immediately, the Autobots not being nearly as kind as they were known for.
Optimus: Where are the children?
Arcee: What did you do to them!?
Ratchet: If they are dead I can promise you will re-join the Allspark before Primus can hear your prayers.
Soundwave: ...
Soundwave: Cassettes: Secured. Safe.
Sensing his defeat and only wanting his little cassettes to be safe, Soundwave opening his carrying chamber and allowed the children to clamber out in wonder. There were tears, hugs, and tender embraces, but Soundwave watched it all in apathy. He was going to lose his cassettes again... and he wasn't sure he could handle it.
At least that was what he thought until the children explained and fought in Soundwave's defense. The spymaster could only watch in awe of his cassettes as they spoke for him, pointing out that he merely wanted to care for them and that he never so much as touched a hair on their heads with harmful intent. In response to this, Optimus made an offer.
Optimus: Soundwave... you wish to care for the children more than you wish to serve Megatron, yes?
Soundwave: ...
Optimus: If that is true, why not join us? You can care for them without fear here.
Soundwave: ...
Soundwave: Offer: Will be considered.
