The nitty gritty is watering down katara's character so she's just a meek girl ? Your lying If you really think that's the same character. The producers said they would take an axe to the main characters and that's where the show really suffers...also nothing is perfect people like you is why we get stuck with mediocrity

?? I finished episode 5 but what😭 how is katara just a meek girl, i feel like yes she has a little less rage but other than that she shows that shes smart and powerful and her own person? Explain what is watered down i feel like animation usually over-exaggerates facial expressions and voices for the most part, so i’m not surprised that katara has more subtle strength so far, and also the actress has a very kind face, but i think shes still able to show some of that anger. (I havent watched the water master fight yet so maybe thats where you’re talking about, so i cant speak on that)

Idk what taking an axe to the main characters means (like really cutting them apart? Cuz i doubt they would promote a show by saying its gonna be bad but who knows). But i feel like the characters are all pretty accurate with how they carry themselves, of course they’re younger so acting wont be perfect but i think the imperfections are what brings them to life. I know a lot of people hate the writing, i feel like it’s quite similar to the show? (Though its been maybe 3-4 years since i last rewatched it) and some lines especially from something previously animated are gonna sound awkward in real life, which is why generally i believe live actions arent necessary for any animation, though in this case i’m really enjoying just rewatching atla and my childhood be brought to life.

Nothing is perfect: ok i was using perfect mostly because i was very excited about it, of course i know theres things that could be changed to improve it but a lot of those things are impossible (like you cant get an actress thats EXACTLY katara and will make everyone happy, because shes a drawing) but overall, i think the landscapes come close to perfect (i’m just really into fantasy scenes and i think it’s so beautiful and impressive to see things like the omashu supply rail and the air temple come to life. And zuko’s boat looks so awesome and so accurate too.) And i thought the cgi looked slightly silly at first (especially air) but then i realized that we were always seeing drawings of aangs air in the animation which would look even stupider irl so i made my peace pretty quickly.

People like me is why we get stuck with mediocrity… hm. I feel like my opinion probably has nothing to do with what comes out on tv, especially because in this society haters have the real power, and you guys tearing it down are more likely to get it cancelled. I don’t think any production team takes an animated film or show and thinks ‘yea im gonna make this absolutely awful,’ (though i’m really not sure what they were thinking when making the pjo movie, its good as a standalone but they went so off course from the plot…) of course they’re all just trying to fit what they think into the show and express their own opinions, which are ultimately going to be a lot different than some people watching it.

Overall, ok i haven’t watched the og in years, so my memory on comparing each episode of the show to the live action is not going to be at the level of others (which i think boosts the enjoyability 100x over). But as i watch it, i remember tons of parts of the animation, and it makes me super happy that it has the same air as the show, albeit slightly more serious because they can’t fit all the funny filler episodes (if they ever created a live action lost appa episode i would lose it that cannot happen).

Maybe i sounded rude in my original post (i changed it quickly bc it was very angry at first lol) so sorry i know you’re all entitled to your opinion, it’s just i was SO EXCITED and then checked the tag on tumblr only to see that everyone hated it… i always feel inferior to people who really like films etc because i tend to enjoy things that other people hate, (like i really enjoyed the avatar way of water movie even if it was super long, and i know people DESPISED it). So maybe i seem like someone who is satisfied with mediocrity, and maybe i am, i focus mostly on the backgrounds and beauty of movies because im really into art and much less on acting and script (though i can appreciate beautiful characters, i was Blown Away by live action suki and hair down sokka my jaw dropped fr) i agree i am fairly simple to please in terms of this type of thing.

Unpopular Opinion;I'd rather have show!Annabeth as a kid with dark hair and eyes. Honestly,the whole "grey eyed blonde Athena kids" was odd in the books,and would be even worse in live action,IMO. While I like seeing fanarts of show!Annabeth with blonde hair and/or grey eyes,I don't see why this detail has to be faithful to the books. Besides,I feel the same about Percy,if to a lesser degree.

Sorry for answering this so late, I’m not really active on Tumblr therefore I tend to forget to check whether or not I’ve received some asks and I tend to take a while for answering them anyways. Also, this is going to get very long and rambly, so prepare yourselves!

My opinion on this whole casting situation and book accuracy is: I legit don’t give a fuck. More than that, I just side-eye people that were freaking the fuck out.

I essentially cut contact with 98% of this fandom (aside from few core groups) and left Tumblr last year because it’s a toxic mess and I try to avoid other PJO related social media branches (with the exception for AO3 for dumping my Percabeth fics, next one coming up soon <3) because they’re more than often even WORSE (!) than this hellsite but I still can’t escape casting news. So it’s incredibly hilarious to see so many people freaking the fuck out over something they have little to no control about.

My wonderful friend @mapendo-c essentially brought it to the point with this post but let me add my two cents to this entire situation:

2020 was hell on tumblr for the black crowd, let’s not act like it wasn’t (it was hell for black people in general if you care enough to remember). From harrassing the black PJO Tumblr side, to straight up lying to us, to doxxing, to us being called slurs in DMs and asks, to receiving open death threats and being sent lynching videos, we had it ALL. Some people that were directly confronted with this shit victimized themselves and fled the scene to this day, literally going out with a bang. Congratulations for that, BTW.

And that was only because a few people started to create PJO artwork that involved Percy of Color. Being more open to otherness. Critizing the white status quo and branching out. Questioning the constant projection onto these characters. That set a chain reaction into other endeavors and arguments but alas, this is already enough babbling.

The fact that we had over 17 years of artwork and fics and videos and movies filled with Cocaine White Percy wasn’t enough for some of you. No, you had to break the spirits of those that are a minority and do not look like you. All of that shit was so unwarranted and unnecessary.

And then when you got warm to the idea of Token Black Percy (in 2021 might I add), you were delighted to see that he would be indeed white in the TV series as announced in the past few months. But oh wait… What was that?? Is it a bird, is it a plane? No?

ANNABETH ISN’T WHITE.

The whole world just got hit by a big rock and the apocalypse is nearing. The way some of y’all acted… Doing the same exact vile shit that you were doing in 2020 to a twelve year old, because she got the role of her life (so far) in portraying a major fictional character… The fact that y’all lost your goddamn mind without having even seen Leah act is MIND-BLOWING.

The same people accusing the black side of the fandom of likely being aggressive towards White TV Show Percy (before casting confirmation which also — newsflash — didn’t happen) are now the same fucking people freaking out about Leah as Annabeth. Tale as old as time.

I said this two years ago and most of y’all stank bitches proved me right: “Let’s be real: if Annabeth Chase would be black for example with the way she behaves, 85% of the fandom would hate her, cry for Perachel and Percabeth would be the least popular ship. I don’t trust people who are saying the opposite.”

As if anything else was about to happen… if I’m to believe certain Twitter threats and Reddit posts (taken with the biggest grain of salt ofc), some people where close to unaliving themselves because we all seemed to collectively have forgotten that Annabeth stans (this is coming from a core Percabeth shipper, so don’t come for me!) are fucking INSANE. Imagine loosing your shit on a harmless decision like a differing casting choice. Some of y’all need psychiatric help, ESPECIALLY looking at you

I absolutely do not get why people get worked up about this. The minute a live version (aka NOT animation) project was announced, all of you should have collectively kissed the idea of a 100% book accurate adaptation goodbye, just as with the movie version.

Do I think the show version will be closer to the books?

Yes.

Do I think it’ll be a 1 on 1 adaptation?

Absolutely not.

The announcement of the blind casting and therefore going for talent approach should’ve cemented the fact that this show won’t be book accurate at all.

How difficult is it to understand for some of you that the image of Annabeth, Percy, the storyline and everything else that you made up in your mind will NEVER be depicted on screen??? This is purely from a logical standpoint. I know Disney has resources and shit but they aren’t infinite. They have to break even eventually. I guess none of y’all have absolutely any idea how the medium of film works behind the scenes.

Even Riordan’s (as the author with actual authority) initial version is impossible to bring to the screen. Trust me, there will be other things omitted or added to the show. You can either tune in, or don’t. It’s as simple as that. That is the only thing you can influence.

Coming to the next point: do all of these changes even matter?!

Stripping Annabeth and Percy of their default hair/eye/skin color doesn’t really change anything that significantly imo??

If you are reducing Annabeth and Percy to their appearance and not the character, what they have as traits and could represent that’s on you, sweetie.

Additionally, most of y’all are ignoring the polar opposite: the nuances and depth Black Annabeth (less so White Percy tbh) could add are entirely forgotten. How they could enrich the story, bring other perspectives in and give in Annabeth’s case the opportunity for black girls that are sexualized and treated like complete shit everywhere else on the planet (anti blackness and misogynoire say hello!) a chance to see themselves portrait in a multi-dimensional character but NOOOOOOOO!

Y’all act as if Californian Dream girl blonde, tall, tanned Anna Bethany “my father went to Harvard and I’m a descendant of Scandinavian royalty and only white people live in Sweden” Chase lives the same life and is equally as oppressed as characters like Hazel or Beckendorf. You know… the little black girl that lived through segregation, got cursed, killed and resurrected and has Hitler as her fucking half-sibling, and the token negro who was one of the very FEW diverse characters in the OG book series that got BLOWN THE FUCK UP as a plot point.

Like GIRL?! (Nella Rose voice:) ARE YOU NOT EMBARASSSSSED?!

I’m not saying that Annabeth doesn’t have her fair share of issues, all I’m saying is SHE’S NOT FUCKING OPPRESSED. Her problems are not the same in comparison to Hazel, Piper, Leo, Beckendorf, Reyna and others. I know white women loooove playing the victim (see: current real world issues where instead of listening to the warnings of black and brown women and people decades ago, they just sat around until they were on the receiving end for once), but no. This is not the fucking same.

As if there aren’t other white female (main) characters that you can latch yourselves onto if you feel like projecting. And you still can, because the OG book series is still a fucking thing!! This is all about the show!

Like you, @mrhomerxsimpson have said, the OG descriptions sound unrealistic and would look tacky in the live action. Fanart ≠ real portrayal of characters. Having sparkly glowing sea green eyes would look weird in reality. The focus of Annabeth’s on her gray eyes… this is readable but would likely transfer poorly onto the screen.

And let’s not forget the trashy exotic portrayal of Cinnamon Toast Hazel and Kaleidoscope Eyed Piper. Let’s just let people and characters of color chill for a while. Please.

I’ve said it ages ago and I’m too lazy to look it up but I think that as long as Percy and Poseidon reassemble each other slightly, the show will be fine. And if these people can act. Also important.

Which brings me to my final point/question: How are some of you unable to understand that different adaptations of the same enterprise can coexist and be just fine?

There is a reason why you can filter the universe (book, tv show, movie, etc.) in which your story is set on AO3 and FFN. Because not all universes are the same!!!

is Emma Watson automatically Hermione Granger for you? Is Daniel Radcliffe automatically Harry Potter?

Because whenever I’ve read a HP Fic they’ve NEVER come up in my mind. Emma Watson is Movie Hermione, but she’s not THE Hermione. She isn't any better or worse than Stage Adaptation Hermione. Watson certainly isn’t the Hermione in my head.

Dr. Who is a sorta weak comparison but there are a million different Doctors sooo what??

Can’t you separate different versions of the same medium? The same core story just with different faces for the same role? Am I in the minority with this??

Book Annabeth is Book Annabeth, Alexandra Daddario is Movie Annabeth and Leah will be TV Show Annabeth. And none of that is in conflict with each other.

If you still want to create moodboards and artworks with Surinamese!Percy, Haitian!Grover and Desi!Annabeth, no one’s stopping you!

If you see Aryan, Walker and Leah as the new default and want to create artwork with their likenesses, also fine!

If you want to go all white like Burdge and Viria have over ten years ago… lame and side-eye worthy but ultimately your decision.

If you want to do all of the above, go ahead!

Just chill and wait till next year when the show finally hits before y’all start throwing tantrums, jeez. Oh wait. Too late!

TL;DR: It really doesn’t fucking matter how TV series Annabeth or Percy look like. Their actors need to act and that’s about it. However, I agree that the book portrayals (at least to a certain degree) would look tacky on screen. Also, this fandom is trash.

As I started my Dawson’s Creek rewatch thoughts on here and just finished my first full watch-through ever! I’m jumping back on to publish some final thoughts despite my tumblr break. This is all ramblings from like 6x18 - 6x24:

Fuck Eddie this dude thinks he’s so ~sensitive~ but he’s that misogynist who I hated in all my writing workshops in undergrad. Plus like HOW DARE HE BREAK UP PACEY AND JOEY Can we talk about Oliver from The OC being Harley’s creepy high school boyfriend who keeps hitting on Joey? Why is this actor always a fucking creep? Me, pointing at the screen in my fluffy blanket while Joey reads Eddie’s douchebag goodbye note: “no, fuck you! you suck!” (how did Joey pick this pretentious douchebag over PACEY WITTER?) Omfg take a shot every time the camera follows Joey looking at Dawson’s house meaningfully for at least 30 seconds my lord, I’m on the last four episodes now and I can tell this is not gonna be the last time. Dawson talks angstily to Joey about how he no longer feels inspired to make his movie — “the story of a golden era of friendship” and “all of us.” Me, blowing out a bong rip, “god, this is meta as fuck.” SOAP OPERA WATCHING UNEMPLOYED PACEY HAS ME CACKLING “I can’t do that, the young and the restless is on.” OH SAD SWEET BOY: “we’re all better off if I just lay here, watching my stories.” And then Joey turns the tv off and Pacey makes this adorable little cry of distress. Too real. I feel you, Pacey. I wouldn’t want to help Dawson make a self indulgent movie about your shared adolescence either.

Dawson just said they didn’t have money but they have a lot of women which is like “currency in some countries.” Misogynist In Chief making jokes about pimping out his female friends to make his self indulgent movie??? Which said female friends are working on for free??? Jesus fucking Christ no wonder this asshole director Todd is his mentor.

Ew Todd the Misogynistic Director just blatantly checked out Joey and I said, “EW” out loud. And only a male-dominated writers room would have Audrey reward Todd’s creepiness with actually having sex with him IN HER LAST EVER SCENE ON THE SHOW. They already forced her last plotlines to be her hanging out with one of the Osbourne kids and playing Pacey’s pedophilic teacher in Dawson’s shitty movie! #justiceforaudrey

Omg Joey explaining her own life story to Harley while Harley is playing her in Dawson’s movie is too much for me. Again, too meta.

I died at the first sighting of Jack and Doug as a couple omg I can’t believe they did THAT

Omg Pacey is my dream man — crying at a teen drama with his love Joey?! We have to stan. YAY

I did it! Pacey and Joey forever!

Dawson remains trash. Riverdale did not learn from the mistakes of this show if they think b*rchie is a good route to go down — D/J and B/A rival each other as the most boring, vanilla ships EVER, both with no chemistry and rooted only in childlike innocence which is fucking weird and infantilizing for Joey/Betty respectively. Gonna go read some PJO fic now!!! And only ever rewatch seasons 3 and 4 tbh lolol.

the first fic i posted this year TECHNICALLY was the epilogue of a different path. the first standalone was chewbacca (aka my introduction to the jily world once again and i have such a soft spot for it)

hahahaaaaaaa. it was my own version of rick riordan’s the son of neptune before the actual book was published. it was on ff.net, and the first chapter got 7 reviews, and i felt so good about myself after that lmfao. who knew i’d still be writing 8 years later?

OKAY so i have 3 top favorites:

okay so i had seen this in someone else’s bookmarks the other day, thought it was an interesting concept—especially since i too love slytherin!percy and strongly subscribe to ofswordsandpens’ headcanons about it—but didn’t give it another thought until i was listening to a video about the cursed child and went: wait, there’s a percabeth hogwarts au that i saw somewhere. and immediately i hunted this down and i’m just in awe? i tore through it. belatedly, i realized that i made a mistake: i didn’t write down my thoughts as i was reading, which is definitely a disservice to you. however, here are a generalized list of things that i loved.

first of all, with hogwarts au’s, there are three main aspects that i look for: plot, characterization, and quality of writing. normally, fics of this size lack one or more of these key factors, but i was astonished to find that the plot is tremendously tight and intriguing (my lip bled from biting it so much because i’ve been stressed to the max), you write these characters with such distinct voices i can easily picture them saying everything—except, of course, now in a little british accent—and your writing flows so well, it feels almost like i’m reading an actual harry potter book, just with percy and co. you also do a masterful job of weaving together aspects of the pjo universe with the established canon of hp.

and there are so many specific things that i love. primarily, the way you write the relationships in this story; not just concerning percabeth (though i will get to that in a minute), but also with each of the interactions between all of the characters. i applaud you for how you handled luke/annabeth and rachel/percy, and the friendship among them all is just incredibly well done. i especially love how well you wrote connor and zoë and just, a lot of characters that i don’t often think about when i think of pjo. grover and percy’s friendship especially is heartbreaking, i just. he’s so protective because he loves his friends and holy fuck i also love how you wrote grover in this. but i just adored how you wrote annabeth/percy—the love between them, both platonic in its early stages and the romantic all throughout, was doubly apparent. i ached when they kissed each other’s cheeks, and i inwardly cheered when she kissed him in the locker room. there was just such a natural progression, to me, of their relationship. and man did i dig it. i’m excited (and maybe a little scared) to see where you take their relationship in the future.

boy, this is getting long. sorry. but some more just little quick things: loved the b99 reference, with both of their competitive natures playing out in a similar way to jake and amy’s. i kind of want to go back and see if i can find any other references that i missed because i was just too engaged in the story to catch them. also, zoë’s death killed me all over again, thanks for that. i like how you’re working the kronos plot in, and i can’t wait to see how the Final Battle plays out. what else? oh! professor hestia? beautiful. eventual maybe professor percy? outstanding. percy kissing the top of annabeth’s head? breathtaking. rachel being a quidditch commentator? earth shattering. (truly i cackled when i saw that.) mrs. o’leary being a cat? incredible. how you incorporated percy’s water powers? stunning.

ooh, this exchange was beautiful and had me cackling it was so in-character:

“None of us are dying.” Connor clarifies. “Not you, not me, not Annie, not the rest of us.”

“I might have to dispute that.” Annabeth says, from Percy’s other side. “Call me ‘Annie’ one more time, Stoll, and I’ll kill you myself.”

Connor only grins at her. “Sorry, love. No more ‘Annie’. Can I call you Beth?”

“No.”

“Anna?”

“No.”

okay, so i just finished chapter nine and i am blown away. sorry for how long this comment was, but a fic of this magnitude truly warrants it. i can’t wait to see what happens next.

i leave you with just two words: “holy shit.”

god, oh my god, am i the only dumb bitch who didn’t get what the prophecy was??

anyway, i stumbled on this fic last year, patiently waiting for its completion, and now that i’ve rediscovered it, i’m so glad i finished it all in one go! i couldn’t imagine the tension of waiting for the next chapter, especially since the tension is so well-crafted!! i hardly noticed the tonal shift even as the story got darker and darker as it led up to the war, and in that way i was reminded of how extremely similar it felt to reading the hp books for the first time! you nailed percy very well i might say, and the awkward-yet-caring relationship he has with his dad. i daresay you gave connor and zoe more characterization than rick riordan himself, and the percabeth you wrote is perfect to the nth degree. i appreciate that you didnt bother with all the love triangle and unrequited feelings nonsense as well.

but i have to say, even as i cried at sally and paul’s wedding, or at dionysus’ quiet mourning for castor, what really struck with me most was the way you handled silena. for that, i have no words. that was a job extremely well done. thank you so much for blessing us with this fic.

A girl in a bright yellow hooded raincoat stumbles into the cafe on one of the slowest nights James has ever seen. Her coat is dripping all over the floor he’d just cleaned (but it’s fine) and when he leans over the counter he sees that her boots match the coat.

First of all!!! Thats the best opening line in the world and nobody can convince me otherwise. I want to become a publisher just so that if you ever write a book, I’d be able to publish it. ( like omg, what an honor??? )

She looks like sunshine, standing there with the amount of yellow in her wardrobe. Briefly, James wonders if that’s her favorite color. It’s got to be.

Im going to quote this whole fic but I really love these lines? Like, you have this distinct style of writiting that I aim to acheive and you’re literally such a rolemodel!!! These are my favorite kind of fics to read. Funny story but I was going through a ‘no thanks Jily’ mood ( a horror, i know !! ) but your fics are just,,,,exceptions? You could write about trash and I’d love it and ask for you to sign me up.

honestly at this point, ive been sucked again by the fanfic. it feels less like a fic and more like a masterpiece that belongs in a museum but anyway.

the dynamic between the characters are just so real and great and im astounded, in short.

your sirius is everything. so many fics potray him as a dick??? which is first of all #rude and also, not at all true. you made me love these characters even more so i sincerely hope you never stop writing.

you’re such a beautiful writer and the way you string words together is just poetic and gorgeous and all the other good adjectives you can think of. i read your spiderman x reader too and i was a goner for you. EVERYTHING YOU WRITE IS SO GOOD. i read it so long ago but i can vividly remember peter whipping the mask off and she just going wtf stop on the window ledge. what im trying to say is that you leave this lasting impression on people that make them remember random scenes and words / prose long after they’ve read it which is a remarkable feat, i believe.

and im so sorry im not on tumblr rn bc i cannot keep recing this fic but i have told my friends about your writing and they loved it too. you’ve got like a million fans. when i do get back from my hiatus, im going to keep recing your fics and people will cry because their universe will shift thanks to the newfound joy of your presence in their life.

ok so obviously i don’t have all the deets and hashtag receipts because i don’t reaaally go here but uh here’s a summary (TW: mentions of incest, sexual assault, racism, and homophobia/biphobia):

plagiarism lawsuit (though someone told me it was dropped? so take it with a grain of salt i guess) and bullying

insults the showrunners for no reason but then acts like they’re attacking her or something when they’re just being decent human beings lmao

called one of the show characters a rapist just because someone liked him better than his book counterpart; used her personal trauma to justify her comment instead of apologizing when she got called out on it by sexual assault survivors and lgbt people

(side note on that one: the tv show acknowledged that lack of verbal consent in that scene made people uncomfortable so they apologized and fixed it...someone should learn something...)

she gets a lot of praise for her rep but it’s meh in my opinion. other people (who have read more than 2 of her books lmao) have written about her mistreatment of characters of colour, lgbtq characters (including only using malec for the $$$), and autistic characters but i don’t really read her books so idk

most recently (that i can remember) (twitter stans make some noise if u remember this one!) (it’s a little weird and convoluted and i honestly still can’t believe it happened but just bear with me here): she quoted a tweet from a show fan that didn’t mention her AT ALL with a rude reply, deleted it immediately (probably not before her rude ass fans started sending hate though but i can’t say for sure) and posted an “apology” where she played the victim while throwing irrelevant and completely unfounded accusations around

but hey, when she got called out for it, she apologized and moved on, right? WRONG. this bitch really went on a rant about how people only hate her because she’s ~a woman and how rick riordan gets to say he didn’t like the pjo movies so she’s allowed to be a dick to teenagers on the internet or it’s SEXISM!!!1

^ people bought that. well-respected authors bought that. i still can’t wrap my head around this.

Percy Jackson Fandom Thoughts

So in the past year I’ve gotten into Shadowhunters (Books and TV show) and fell head over heels in love with Malec. Malec is a gay canon ship that is prioritized in the TV show, has several pictures in the official TMI coloring book and has many beautiful scenes in the books. I’m as obsessed with Malec as I was/I’m with Percico. The experience of loving a canon relationship has opened my eyes to something.

All those Percabeth and Solangelo shippers who bully and humiliate shippers of non-canon ships are bigger assholes than I originally thought. I mean seriously, that’s low. I fell in love with the PJO books, but then my heart started shipping Percico (uncontrollably) and for years I was stressed every time I thought about those books I love. I felt like I couldn't reread them because I was going to be bombarded with ships that went against my otp. I lost many years of being a hardcore fan because of it. (It was a unhealthy way of thinking, so I am working on it.) But my feelings toward this series I love was the same that a lot of people feel when they see fanart of a notp.

I get to reread The Mortal Instruments and The Bane Chronicles to get my ship fix and enjoy a good story. I can’t do that with the Percy Jackson books without getting into a blank head space first. I can’t imagine looking down my nose at someone who ships Magnus or Alec with some other character like they are the scum of the earth. It’s not right.

As someone who ships a canon ship, you get to read and enjoy the source material to the fullest extent. It’s a real bitchy thing for you to bully someone who doesn’t get to do the same so easily. Recently, I’ve been getting comments on my fanfiction stories and people going into Percico group chats just to say “Fuck you Solangelo forever” and that’s not okay.

Also, as a percico shipper, I’ve heard enough of this “Percico supports pedophilia!!!” No bitch, it doesn’t. And you don’t actually believe that either. You just want an excuse to not only hate the percico ship, but it’s shippers. In your mind, you know it’s wrong to bully someone based on their ship, so you come up with a reason to humiliate them. Stop.

I’m also sick of this “If you don’t ship Percabeth then gtfo lol” bullshit on Percy Jackson groups on other websites. Its a “Percy Jackson” group... every PJO fan should be allowed regardless of what they ship. We are a fandom, a family of fans, start acting like one.

*I know every ship deals with this crap and every ship bullies other ships. All of it needs to stop. I’m also not saying all canon shippers are assholes. You can be a fandom asshole in any ship, it depends on how you treat other people.

pjo youtube au headcanons pt. 1/?

*nervously peeks in* *is holding breath* well, here goes

i know you said send you youtube aus, but this got kinda long and i didn’t want to spam you with a ton of asks? and these are more like headcanons in a youtube au… but, i mean, this still works right?

also just a disclaimer, i don’t do this often (or at all realy), and i tried really hard not to rely on the stereotype of their characters, but i’m not sure how much i succeeded in that. for as much as i know them, expressing that through what i think their youtube channel would be like is actually uber difficult

so tl;dr: these may suck

percy makes vids abt skateboards and basketball.

and like ppl subscribe and watch bc he’s cute and also a dork

but he’s def got a ton of subscribers from the boarding and balling communities bc he’s know a lot abt them. edit: and SWIMMING (i can't believe i forgot the fucking swimming)

he makes fun of water commercials sometimes by parodying them.

there isn’t a vid without a blue-something mention

he’ll post the occasional vlog to talk about his blue-[insert thing here] hauls at the end of month.

it’ll sometimes slip that she likes watching tv shows where ppl build or renovate houses (she watches them like others watch cooking shows or sports)

but like the way he vlogs abt it and just who he is as a person draws in, not just other environmentalists, but also just the general populace

who then learn more abt how they can be more friendly to the environment

he’s not a disillusioned, he knows there’s only so much we can do to save this dying planet, but he tries his best and that’s why more and more ppl subscribe to his channel

he’ll occasionally post vids of covers of popular music on his pipes and his views blow the fuck up

he talks educates ppl on reducing your carbon foot-print, what’s actually healthy for the environment

he hates PETA and has stated this in nearly all his vids

but also excitedly talks about new technologies that are reducing carbon emissions and the use of fossil fuels for 15 minutes straight
