#i also have a very very long list of to-watch movies that i consider faves despite having not seen them yet

please what are your 5 favorite horror movies that changed you forever I need to know and add to my watchlist!
HOOOO BOY!!!! i love a super specific list.
my top 5 horror movies to chemically rewire your brain!!! in no particular order because i am actually really bad at picking favorites
triangle (2009, dir. by christopher smith). it's on the brain!! i tend to think that spoilers can't ruin a movie but truly the less you know going in the better. incredibly re-watchable. the gore is minimal, the violence is excessive, there's no real jumpscares, and the existential horror is off the charts.
nope (2022, dir. by jordan peele). i mean if you haven't seen it by now i can't help you but get right. fix yourself. if you think you know what's happening no you fucking don't!!! it feels dishonest to say it isn't violent or gory, it's just not the usual gore and violence you're used to seeing on screen. 5 stars angel, 5 stars.
piranha 3D (2010, dir. by alaxandre aja). it made me dumber. i love it. sometimes you just need a movie to make you dumber and sit back and appreciate the thousands of gallons of fake blood. if gore gets to you, i don't recommend it, but if you appreciate practical effects and the fact that a lot of their stunt actors were from a union of amputees, it's a fun ride, with a bunch of really funny performers.
malignant (2021, dir. by james wan). i think james wan just kinda rules. it's pretty, it's fun, and schlocky as hell. it's the most bonkers dialogue you've heard and it's delivered with a straight face. VERYVERY gory very violent, and while it's tense and scary in the moment it's not the kind of film you're gonna walk away from with a new fear, because it's just so silly (affectionate). it's a lesson in humor and how not to take yourself so seriously. stay silly! :3
paranormal activity (2007, dir by. oren peli). feels like it oughta be on here because it was the first honest to god horror movie i saw in theaters and of the group of people i saw it with, i was the only one afraid. kinda rewired my brain in terms of how i approached horror and what i expected from my horror movies, and helped me understand what other people find scary. it's a very scary movie with no gore and no monsters and there's nothing to see here, folks!
honorable mention because it's not a horror movie that is even remotely scary but is playing within the genre, don't read anything about the plot, just find it streaming and hit play!!!! thank me later!!!!! yes it's in japanese, no don't waste your time with the french version. why would you do that to yourself?
one cut of the dead (2019, dir. by shin'ichirô ueda).

Omg I’m so happy you replied!! I definitely have more questions.
1. What Cillian character do you like writing about the most and why?
2. What story from your master list are you most proud of?
3. Do you personally have any fic recommendations/ must reads? Other sites included.
4. What gets you inspired to write? Following that question have you ever abandoned a fic?
5. What do you think made you a better writer? If you have any doubts about your work, how do you get past it enough to continue?
6. Is there a Cillian character that you just don’t like, or aren’t interested in watching/ writing about? (Sorry if that’s a loaded question)
omg thank u so much for this!!! i srsly love interacting w u guys, tysm for the thought provoking questions😄🙌
i think i like writing most about robert fischer:) ik it probably doesnt translate considering ive written most for jonathan crane but robert fischer is just such a little sweetheart to me,,, and can go both ways in being a sassy dom douchebag or being a sobbing daddy issues sub darling LOLLL i just think he has a lot of duality to delve into and develop (which ive definitely not done so far☠️) and it helps that his characterization in inception was also very surface level— i have a lot of wiggle room y’know??
i think im most proud of “dine & dash” which im aware probably no-one has read, but getting chris o’doyle’s sassy little dialogue down was like taming a wild beast,,, otherwise, considering my more well-known work, i rly liked writing “honey, i’m home”. i go crazy for the unhinged readers (if u couldnt alrdy tell lmaooo) and seeing jackson get messed with like that was a real treat.
i seriously just recommend anything by @mypoisonedvine,,, they’re literally genius & are the reason i started writing for cillian:)!! other mentions include kitten fics by @pictureinme and, a personal fave, @floralcyanidee’s jackson rippner mile-high club fic!!! these writers are all incredibly talented and im just blown away at their work every single time🫶
my thirst is such a big motivator for writing LMAO😭i wrote “guinea pig” ‘cus i wanted to absolute wreckkk jonathan crane and have him be a sub, and i got a 6.8k words long fic out of said thirst! music & book quotes motivate me a lot too— i spend sm time digging thru my pinterest for a good quote for the beginning of my fic its actually insane☠️and yes,,, im ashamed to say ive abandoned fics numerous times,,, but thats because they were series’, not oneshots. i get bored of series’ pretty quickly, ‘cause i feel kind of trapped by the initial dynamic or mood set in the first chapter. with oneshots, its like writing one long chapter of this trope and this kink or whatever and then its done, and i dont have to exhaust myself going back to tropes or kinks or storylines ive already done.
i think reading made me a better writer. expanding my vocabulary through the words of others was a biggie; seeing something be described in a certain way in someones story had me thinking of out-of-the-box ways to describe another thing (that doesn’t make much sense but lets pretend it does😭). i have many, many doubts about my work, like constantly, but i usually just suck it up. i sound like an attention whore but seeing the reposts & comments & tags on my other work reminds me people like what i’ve written before and certain people will enjoy what ive written now, so i should just finish my work for them. i also take like 100 years rereading my stuff until i think its good enough lmao,,,
ive kinda watched his whole roster of films (atleast ones i could actually find on the internet and not gone missing as a lost piece of media lmao) and i could probably write for any cillian character given i had a good idea and proper motivation. writing for certain characters is definitely harder for me to do though, so its likely i wont write for them/will take a long time to do so. an example is lenny miller— anna was such an insufferable movie to me, and lenny’s screentime wasn’t long at all, atleast not long enough for me to properly grasp his character. he just felt like a horny hardass fbi goof the whole time i could not take his 5’7 ass seriously😭cillian is smexy as hell in anna tho, so we’ll see😈another would probably be robert capa from sunshine,,, hes beautiful and deliciously musty in that but the whole spaceship setting kinda freaks me out (considering i know 0 zilch nada about space, spaceships, or anything of the sort, so it’d definitely be inaccurate). an au with him id definitely do, though! (with that hair of his my mind is already forming a 90s band au, guitarist!capa x singer!reader story…)
again thank u so much for these questions!! i feel like i rarely get to chat to u guys so this was well appreciated😄🫶thank you so much for reading, for sending these questions in, and for being an overall sweetheart, anon!

Twenty Questions for Fic Writer
Tagged by @pelopides
How many works do you have on ao3?
67. I would have more if I transferred more LJ stuff over, but I am largely embarrassed by those works.
What's your total ao3 word count?
282,047 words.
What fandoms do you write for?
I am going to list the major ones, but I dipped my toes in The Borgias, The Magicians, and Good Omens. But the ones I’ve written the most for are:
A Song of Ice and Fire - George R. R. Martin
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
IT (Movies - Muschietti)
Supernatural (TV 2005)
The Vampire Diaries (TV)
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
you call my name and it feels like home (1,197 kudos)
i grow green with hope (599 kudos)
desire holds me like a knife (493 kudos)
twenty-one grams (493 kudos)
The Whispering Ghosts (Left You Out In The Cold) (433 kudos)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
The most honest answer is: I try, but sometimes my neurotic anxious parts of my brain take over and I don’t reply. As a commenter and reader, I personally don’t mind if the author doesn’t reply back because I don’t wish to be perceived, but I’m also not sure what the etiquette is anymore. Do they also want me to reply to their reply? Is this a conversation now? I think AO3 changed a lot of fandom norms and expectations because I don’t remember being this conscious of myself and comment threads were the norm. But anyway, the tl;dr of it: I try and work up the nerve and sometimes I fail, sometimes I do it months later, sorry!
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I tend to write ambiguous to hopeful endings, so this was hard to determine, so I think it is a tie between The Whispering Ghosts (Left You Out In The Cold) and Watch Your Step (You'll Need A Miracle). The former because the entire fic is bleak and the ending is essentially more of the same, while the latter is about the emotional shattering of someone post-assault.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
This question is very subjective because I tend to write things that might not be considered happy for some people, but are happy to me. In a more traditional sense, twenty-one grams feels the most happy because the rest of the fic is a grueling exercise in grief and eventually Eddie is brought back to life and everyone can move forward, so the relief is palpable. But on an iddy level, my favorite happy ending is we could live forever in each other’s faces because I want Sam and Dean to have a baby and rule together in Hell forever and ever.
Do you get hate on fics?
Yes. I used to get a lot of angry comments in the From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series fandom, and recently I had a lot of disgruntled people on my most recent fic. It could be my long-term anonymous hater, but who knows.
Do you write smut?
Yes! I used to not be able to and I thought I would never be capable of it, but I feel pretty good about my smut writing skills.
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I did back in the day, but it was largely Supernatural/One Tree Hill crossovers because I was sixteen and afraid to admit I shipped Sam/Dean. I do muse about crossovers from time to time because I want my faves to meet and I think a lot about how they would interact, but those stories are often low priority for me.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Apparently! Someone was reposting fics on Wattpad and one of my Richie/Eddie fics was reposted. It was deleted before I could report it myself.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
A couple! It was an interesting and flattering experience.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I can't do that because I don't speak any other languages.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, with @ladyculebras. We often do round robin experiments and exercises, and we posted devour me (if you really think that you can stomach me) because the exercise kept going and we finished the piece.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Sam/Dean is one of my longest running OTPs, so that feels like the obvious answer, but I never stop feeling feelings for my OTPs, they tend to go into hibernation until I am attacked with feelings and I spiral. Some of my OTPs I don’t write fic for, but still have an immense amount of feelings for. Right now off the top of my head, the OTPs swirling around in my brain at any given time are: Sam/Dean, Louis/Lestat (and Louis/Lestat/Claudia), Seth/Richie, Sam/Tara, Richie/Eddie (and Losers Club OT7), Quentin/Eliot, Geralt/Yennefer, Coriolanus/Lucy Gray/Serjanus, Katniss/Peeta (and Katniss/Peeta/Haymitch), Archie/Betty/Jughead/Veronica.
What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I have a huge graveyard of unfinished WIPs for fandoms past that I am sure I will never finish, so it is easier to answer that there are a few WIPs I really do want to finish some day. My exit from the IT fandom wasn’t really something I wanted to do, but needed to do for my mental health, but I hope to return and finish some fics when I have more distance. From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is the fandom I have the most written in and I would like to finish my longer stories in the future.
What are your writing strengths?
I love writing prose and my descriptions are very lush. I also have a strong handle on emotion and using acts of intimacy to push the story forward, but also explore character. I’m good at character and relationship studies. I think I’m adept at writing hot sex scenes. I also have a flair for horror in ways I don’t often employ, but love when I get to.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I need to learn how to not get stuck in my own head and trip all over myself and my insecurities. My biggest hurdle is myself and my own mental hangups. I need to learn that it's okay to experiment and try new things and that I don’t need to please everyone, or be liked, I just need to please myself. I also need to work on not being afraid to write longer stuff and embrace that my brain has a lot of ideas that will take time to write
First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter. I still have the handwritten notebook pages from when I was 11.
Favorite fic you've written?
I can’t answer this question because if I look at my fics, I will see the flaws. I will say I am proud of everything I finish because it’s often a battle of wills.

stan + kyle + kenny for the character ask game!! :)
Oooooh, this is going to be a long one.. I always thought that my view of the South Park characters were pretty boring so here are my first impressions:
Kyle broflovski
Sexuality Headcanon: I personally think he’s straight, I feel like I’ll get a lot of shame because of this but I never really saw him as a bisexual man let alone a gay man😭 I’m so sorry. But on one hand I do kind of see him being a Demisexual? I don’t know if there is really that much evidence to it but I feel like him being Demisexual. I can also see Asexual Kyle too? I think he’s straight but definitely not allo.
Gender Headcanon: I think he’s a cis man, but trans boy Kyle sounds like a good headcanon? It mostly rooted from Cartman’s sexist jokes but it sounds pretty cool, I’m down for more trans rep! Even if it’s from canonically cis characters..
A ship I have with said character: Kybecca is so fuckwg cute !!!!!!! The way Kyle guides her into relationships was adorable. I also like the dynamic of a shy awkward inexperienced-in-relationships girl and a nice (a genuinely nice) guy who helps her out when it comes to relationships!!! Fucking blorbos.. I want to hold them around like 2 little kittens :( I also really see the potential in Kychole and I wish it got more recognition, it would’ve been an actually great chance for him to get a girlfriend, fuck you Cartman, like honestly.
A BROTP I have with said character: It’s probably going to be Style, of course. Their friendship is honestly very cute to watch, but it can also get a bit sad at times (ex: assburgers). I also like Tokyle, Kyutters, and Kybe as a brotp. Tolkien and Kyle being mom best friends, looking over at their insane children fighting like little chihuahuas, while talking about mom things.. hwoedhsj. And also Kyle and Bebe being best friends gossiping to each other and spilling the tea (this wasn’t my idea though). I’m a bit stuck towards Kyutters though, cause I only thought of it just now.
A NOTP I have with said character: I used to like this ship A LOT, but now I have to say it’s Kyman. I can still see the potential in One sided Kyman and I always saw it being a thing somehow, but that’s as far as I’ll go for this ship nowadays. Kyman just feels weird, and all it took was a couple of callout posts for me to eventually lose interest in it.
A random headcanon: Kyle is the most simplest guy EVER. His music taste isn’t a specific genre and it all goes down to “well I like music as long as it sounds good”. He doesn’t like a specific type of food and is just like “I like any food as long as it’s good”. He’s the least fashionable and most distasteful guy in town, and his friends (the main 4 ofc) attempted to try and get him into fashion and introduce him to different kinds of genres (whether it be music, movies, or whatever) to see which one he’d consider to be his favorite. But it NEVER worked out, he’s just that boring. (Yeah, I’m projecting onto him, what about it)?
General Opinion over said character: He’s honestly such a well developed character, he’s not exactly my fave but I can definitely understand his popularity and place in this fandom! He’s just a lil guy :)
Stanley marsh
Sexuality headcanon: I think he’s either straight or bisexual, but all I know is that he definitely went through a bicurious phase. Remember how confused he was when Wendy turned out to be trans? He was also confused about Tweek and Craig’s whole relationship! He doesn’t know where he stands on the LGBT spec but he’s still trying to figure it out.
Gender headcanon: I only thought of this just now but demiboy Stan. I also like to think he’s experimenting with his gender, and it goes down to the examples I listed trying to describe his sexuality from my perspective. He’s open to people using any pronouns on him, and I love that for him :)
A ship I have with said character: Stendy, I remember drawing Stendy A LOT over here. I still love their relationship but not as much as I used to. Although, I have to say that I still yearn for their good ol’ girlboss and malewife dynamic.. I would also consider Stolkien because their current relationship reminds me of a forbidden romance, it’s honestly interesting to look at it that way. I like to think he tries to get together with Tolkien in an attempt to open more doors for relationships, relating to his whole bicurious and gender questioning thing.
A BROTP I have with said character: Just like the brotp I have for Kyle, it’s Style. I also really like Stary as a friendship. I honestly hope that Gary might make a comeback and Stan would spend more time with him, while the rest of the main 4 gets absolutely mad they are hanging out with such a “wuss” and not with them instead >:( but unfortunately Gary is just a one and off character.
A NOTP I have with said character: I honestly don’t know what notp I have for him, I don’t seem to have any Stan ship that I actually loathe. I’m pretty sure I stated before that I LOVE ships featuring stan despite him not being my fave. Which is a bit weird to think about, but I’ll just leave it as a mere coincidence for now.
A random headcanon: Despite the fact that Stan’s goth phase was supposed to happen because of the fact Wendy broke up with him, he actually developed an interest in the goth style and still (secretly) hangs out with the goth kids. The goth kids don’t seem to mind being around him and they’re nice enough to actually guide him through the goth style! Stan REALLY enjoyed getting into it and the goth kids developed a soft spot for him, they’re a bunch of softies on the inside :( Stan would also wear a bunch of edgy black t shirts under his jacket because he just got soooooo into it. And his friends still don’t know about it, his interest in goth culture is still a secret, mostly out of fear of being ripped on.
General Opinion over said character: I honestly like him because he slightly reminds me of myself? We aren’t ENTIRELY similar but I can see myself in him. I also find a lot of his ships tasteful.
Kenny McCormick
Sexuality headcanon: I used to think he was a straight aromantic but now I can see him being pansexual, like I’m pretty sure he would love ANYTHING with titties. Him being a closeted pansexual aro is honestly very swaggy in my book. I say closeted because he literally lives in a family of rednecks, I think he’ll have to deal with a lot of internalized homophobia here. And I think it’s interesting to explore that in him! (The internalized homophobia idea was again not mine).
Gender headcanon: he’s a cis GNC man, he’s perfectly fine with identifying as a man but he loves dressing up as a princess, and he still does it from time to time!
A ship I have with said character: I don’t think I have any ship with him aside from Kenman. Their dynamic works very well and the way they laugh at each other’s jokes is so fuckeng adorable. I think their friendship should be explored more often, both in the actual show and in the fandom. There is a lot to unpack there. And also the way they carry a BFF necklace, adorable.
A BROTP I have with said character: Kenman again (I like it both romantically and platonically). I’m not used to ships with Kenny in them so I’m sorry if this is EXTREMELY bland.
A NOTP I have with said character: I’m sorry to say this but I never really found Bunny interesting.. that’s all I have to say, I’m sorry if that disappoints any of you.
Random headcanon: speaking of Kenny loving to dress as a princess, he sometimes roleplays as princesses with his little sister Karen, they come up with the most dramatic storylines ever and Kevin gets so annoyed by it sometimes and tells them to shut up. This one time Kenny and Karen stayed up all night playing dress up and they talked so loudly, that everyone woke up by the stupid annoying sounds they made. They never stopped doing it, and it was hell on earth for everyone else aside from these 2 mfs >:) I think there was also a point where all the other people around them heard it, but it was rather faint, so it took a while for everyone else to notice the loudness of it all.
General Opinion over said character: I never really thought about him, so my impression of him is a bit boring. But I’m hoping to dig more into his character if that’s what you guys want!
__________
Thank you so much for the question, it honestly got me to think more about the character’s personalities! :)

Thanks to @bittercape for the tag; proud to have been the one to lead you to the Dark Side, hon!
List 3 Ships I Like: I’m not an OTP kind of person, I can enjoy any ship as long as it’s well written. But, that said: I’ve always loved Holmes/Watson, in all incarnations (book-verse, BBC-verse, movies). And the first ship where I followed the fandom online was Gene Hunt/Sam Tyler (Life on Mars). And a newer fave is Ted Lasso/Trent Crimm. (I don’t count Crowley/Aziraphale, as that one is basically canon and, as David Jenkins said, can you really call it shipping if it’s the actual pairing of a romance?)
First Ship Ever: I didn’t think of it as shipping Way Back When, but I remember being very taken/moved by strong emotional bonds between male characters as a kid and teenager. One I definitely remember was Orrie Main [played by Patrick Swayze] and George Hazard in the 1985 TV show North and South.
Last Song I Heard: The Power of Love – Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Had to listen to it after watching the (amazing!) movie All Of Us Strangers last night.
Favourite Childhood Book: Too many to count; I read more or less continually from the age of four until I got online at twenty-one. I started reading LotR at nine and reread it many times; I loved Watership Down and A Wizard of Earthsea and the Moomin books. I also read 1984, A Brave New World and Lord of the Flies when I was 11–12, and they have informed everything I’ve read since.
Currently Reading: Heaven and Hell by Icelandic writer Jón Kalman Stefánsson. And have just started on Crow Road by Iain Banks. (Both are book club books, from two separate reading circles.)
Currently Watching: The newest season of True Detective (love Jodie Foster in it)
Currently Consuming: quince tea
Currently Craving: spring
Tagging: Anyone who would like to do this exercise may consider themselves tagged by me!

Thoughts On 2023 Favorites
TV Shows 1. Good Omens season 2: Oops, I'm obsessed again. You can make the argument that a second (and PHEW eventual third) season was unnecessary, but I disagree. It was nice to get a season that wasn't so breakneck in it's pacing. Everything slowed down a bit and focused in on Aziraphale and Crowley's shenanigans. Which, let's be honest, is what the audience wants. That being said, I liked everything else about it too. A cute/silly plot, fun new characters, and a devastatingly sad finale that left me distraught. I could not have asked for more really. (Except more kissing. Please tell me there will be more kissing.) 2. Lockwood and Co: A spooky premise that probably took a lot of effort to appear even semi-believable [as a tv show]. Yet, it was pulled off with flying colors. It was also perfectly atmospheric and charming, so of course netflix canceled it. I plan on reading the books.
Animation (TV & Films) 1. Murder Drones: 2023 was a good year for indie animation overall, and out of all of them Murder Drones was the show to win my entire heart. Perfect setup for horror and YA spoofing, but also well written enough that I enjoyed the character focus and progression as well. I'm psyched for the final two episodes set to release in the spring. 2. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: If any movie of recent memory deserved a decent sequel it was this one, so I'm very happy it turned out as great as it did. One of the few comic-book films I bothered with in 2023. 3. Hilda season 3: Easily one of my all-time favorites from Netflix, so I'm beyond happy it has a great ending now. Gorgeous animation, a lovable main and support cast, and perfect chill vibes. Deserves a bluray release. 4. Elemental: Listen. Pixar's still got it this was so cute. You're forgiven for The Good Dinosaur Peter Sohn. 5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem: So much fun tho. Love the current creative trend in cg films happening thanks to Into the Spider-verse. Also, the No Diggity scene was incredible. The movie has an A+ soundtrack. Anime (TV & Films) 1. Trigun Stampede: So relieved this turned out to be great, considering the original is a favorite of mine. Not a easy feat in the age awful, cash-grab reboots. 2. The Boy And The Heron: Honestly? My favorite Miyazaki film since Howl's Moving Castle. Genuinely moving and left me misty-eyed. 3. Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc: This show is so pretty. Still surprised how well the series portrays it’s simple, compelling cast. Like it’s an effortless sort of thing (it’s not). 4. Suzume: Makoto Shinkai's last three movies just make me happy okay. Happy and hopeful. The best comfort movies ever. Video Games I have a steam deck now so you'd think I played a bunch of video games last year but, no. I didn't get heavily into much last year. Played some Hades though? Live Films || Note: I watched so many great classic horror movies this year that I had never given a proper watch. I would like to continue that this year!! 1. Talk to Me: Please make more horror movies Danny and Michael Philippou. This one was wild. 2. Dark City: The fact that The Matrix got four movies and this didn't get any sequels is a fucking tragedy. 3. Coherence: Love me a simple, creepy sci-fi movie with an interesting premise. Apparently, quite a lot of the film is improvised as well? That blew my mind. 4. Greener Grass: More films that just feel like one big Adult Swim skit please. This style of script is hysterical to me. 5. Caveat: This goes on my fave list simply for scaring the shit out of me lmao. Movies walk a fine line, when the intention is to make you uncomfortable for long periods of time. They risk being irritating instead of entertaining. Caveat had me shrieking at my tv (in a delighted sort of way).
Honorable Mentions 1. Lore Olympus 2. Nier Automata anime 3. Asteroid City + Wes Anderson's new short films 4. OPLA
Things I'm Looking Forward to in 2024 1. Dune 2 2. Second season of Severance hopefully! 3. Madoka Magica Movie 4: Walpurgisnacht: Rising?? Is it finally happening or what? 4. New Magnus Archives
Some Creative & General Goals for 2024 I feel like I was drawing a lot more in 2023! Still nothing worth posting online, but I'm making some progress I think (slowly but surely). Goals: make more art for my siblings when they request it, finish some digital art that I started, and finish the diorama piece I planned out. On the general goals I'd like to travel more! Particularly, I'd like to visit some national parks.

Do you have recommendation for non-slasher horror films?
yea yeayeayeya yea sure i can surely put something together. for the longest time i was strictly into ghost movies and right before my slasher craze i was all about fucked up ones that make you feel upside down so i should have. something for you

i Want to say the grudge & the ring original AND remakes (not the latest ones tho they always push it too far) deserve the world there is something abt female ghost w long black hair man. it is truly so effective and not many movys have traumatized me like those as a kid OR big boy i'm still too scared that it'll fuck me up to watch them alone !!
other bonus one if u can even consider it horror everyone in the world should see zombieland 2009 at least once one of my most beloved movies ever it's family to me
in general i think. might be controversial but i do think non-slasher horrors peaked like. in the 2000s to mid 2010s w some cool stuff from 2019 forward w the a24 era that i do not mind at all i think they're cool but the. badness and tackyness from earlier 2000s is perfect

A through Z for the ask game >:]
HI JAMMIE
this is another long one, bear with me!
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Uhhhhh well obviously I'm loving the gojo & megumi father-son shit at the moment, it really heals the depression. ALSO @grungeeuvu (alt. account @grungiiuvu) has gotten me back into MXTX, especially TGCF, so fengqing is top of my romantic ship list at the moment. I keep meaning to write something for them. Whoopsies.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
my jjk moots are going to think i'm insane for this, but itafushi. It did NOT occur to me when I watched the anime, but then someone suggested it to me and then I rewatched with new eyes and ... yeah. itafushi canon.
also kuromikashou. I'm a fan of that now, too.
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
the rats are going to absolutely hate this announcement, but ushioi and oikage. Hate them both. oisuga? sure. iwaoi? love it. oihina? don't see it as a long term thing, but don't care. even atsuoi is passable. But both ushioi and oikage really irriate me for zero reason.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
bokuroo. they make total logical sense and they'd be hilarious together, but to me they're besties. sorry guys :(
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?
i hear lots of good things about my JNT Rulebook, which is a whole load of crack. Also, for AOT i wrote Chaos Theory, which earned comments like "I had no idea funny fics were possible for this fandom". If you are a long-term aot girlie, I am so sorry for your loss.
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
Uh, I'm not sure? The first fandom I contributed to was PJO. I was there for maybe two years, and that's probably my record. I'm just over one year on haikyuu now. I'M SORRY I JUST KEEP CHANGING INTERESTS
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?
My very first OTP was probably Eadric & Emma from The Frog Princess series. It doesn't really have a fandom but god, I loved those books... OR Ash & Serena from Pokemon. They were good too.
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?
I mainly watch anime at the moment and usually they have more active fandoms, so I'm happy to stay with them. With books, you can never be sure that anyone else has ever read them.
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
Nope, because I am good at staying away from scary people. #slay
J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr.
Supernatural. No explanation needed.
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
From Haikyuu, it's got to be Hinata, hasn't it? And he's weirdly underrated, considering he's literally the main character.
From other fandoms, I love Yona from Yona of the Dawn. She goes from literal spoiled princess to some kind of warrior queen, PLUS she gains emotional maturity. May we all grow to be like her.
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves.
You know what, guys? I do think Goshiki's cute. I do understand wanting to put him in your pocket. Personally, I don't, but I totally see it.
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
Sugawara. He's top tier friend material - chaotic, funny, caring, and would definitely feed into your delulu.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
My main fandom is probably haikyuu, so I wish I saw more of:
Appreciation for the writing!!!
Love for main characters. It sounds weird, but the fandom is full of people who have a pet side character who barely has any lines. This is GOOD, all character deserve appreciation, but can we get some applause for hinata??
Love for rarepairs. This sounds even stranger, considering my last point, but we need to get used to letting people ship whoever the fuck they want. As long as it's legal.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
After a good old shuffle of my 94 hour playlist, I got Bad Romance by lady gaga. This is gonna come out of left field because I've never mentioned this fandom before, but it's sherliam from moriarty the patriot.
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
I've mentioned this to friends before, but we totally need a TGCF hosptial au. Mu Qing is a surgeon, Feng Xin is a physiotherapist, Xie Lian is either a GP or an anesthesiologist, and Hua Cheng is some random reception guy. Mu Qing is always bullying Feng Xin for not being a 'real doctor'. Hualian are married. you see where I'm going.
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
Harry Potter, for obvious reasons.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
I would die for Nobara & Itadori & Megumi. They deserved to be happy forever.
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon
I wrote whole sections of fanfiction based off my headcanon that Megumi has flat hair like Toji, but he styles it spiky to be like Gojo. I KNOW the canon disproves it. I don't actually care.
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Nope, because I am non-confrontational and uncreative.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
I'm going niche on this one - well, more like going into fandoms my followers probably aren't into.
Ayame Sohma, Fruits Basket. Loving brother, perfect example of how to make reparations, and also literally fabulous. And gay.
Ooharano, All Out!. Voice by Ian Sinclair, very good at his sport, hilariously sarcastic. Emotional backstory that was just never mentioned again???
Siatrich Wynknight, The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up At The Duke's Mansion. Very funny, likes to be a bit evil for the giggles, thinks it's funny when his younger brother endangers national relations. Gay.
V - Which character do you relate to most?
GUYS I HAVE NO IDEA. I'm probably closest to Bokuto or Kageyama - and that seems odd, because they're different people, but that's how I am.'
Also Gojo. Don't tell my readers I said that.
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
Exes to Lovers, my beloathed. Hate it so much, I can't even explain why.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
CHILDHOOD FRIENDS CHILDHOOD FRIENDS "I KNOW THE PARTS OF YOU THAT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW YOURSELF" MY BELOVED
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
RWBY, ITSV, Demon Slayer.
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go!
I guess I've always been interested in the idea of a true morally grey character, because sometimes there are characters that are described as morally grey, or even evil, when they're actually Just A Guy (*cough* Oikawa *cough*). The only character I can think of is probably Dazai from BSD. Everyone has an opinion and very few of them are correct. There is no way you can say he is a bad person, because many of his issues come from the fact that he is an orphan, raised by the mafia, and someone who took the opportunity to leave when prompted. Also, in his life after the mafia, he made a genuine effort to make good on his promises and fix his life, including saving Atsushi.
HOWEVER, you can't say he's a totally good person. He lived well in the mafia, because he didn't care about killing people and perhaps even enjoyed it, depending on how you view certain scenes. Many people would say that he's still not on anyone's side, he's only on his own side. This is debatable, but it's still there. PLUS you've got his continuation of the cycle of abuse through Akutagawa, and his willingness to pretend to betray his friends in order to get the outcome he wants. Everyone else is just a pawn to him.
I'm still undecided on him, but I'm proud of every fan that says "he's morally grey" rather than cutting it up into black and white. Remember that BSD was written for the stray dogs, not the ones who have lived happily all this time...
Thanks for the ask!

✨the tag game✨
thank you so much for tagging me @leonpob ♥ a perfect way to avoid my responsibilities haha
THREE SHIPS 🚢 i have a whole army of ships but the current ones i feel strongly about are puentalay, waikorn (waitalay????), and waantul. i place more importance on ships when they wake up my writer mind and insist on me writing them, so i also have a huge group of pairings i enjoy just seeing around (current fave trio would probably be palmnuengdiao, chopperben, and jimwen)
FIRST SHIP 🚢 my first bl ship - that i could consider a proper ship on my own standards - was probably kornknock from together with me. the first non-canon ship from any media ever was most likely either dom/brian from fast & furious or maybe luka/yuki from the manga series betrayal knows my name (uragiri boku no namae wa shitteiru) - who i guess can be considered canon tho, at least in the manga? the anime series didn’t get that far. (it was one of the first animes i ever watched and is still very dear to me)
LAST SONG 🎧 am currently listening to music on shuffle from the playlist that just contains everything i’ve liked from 2016 onwards so am just going to mention the song i most recently put on my current obsessions playlist which is:
Catch - Epik High ft Hwa Sa (from their new ep Strawberry)
LAST MOVIE 🍿 also the BTS Yet To Come in Cinemas ♥ it was a blast!
CURRENTLY READING 📖 mostly fics but i also have matt haig’s the comfort book to read. was planning on taking myself on a date on valentine’s day and go to a nice café to eat something sweet and to read some of that ♥ am hoping it won’t make me cry in public tho
CURRENTLY WATCHING 👀 the list has recently grown shorter with the shows that finished airing (Between Us, 10YT, the other Midnight Series shows) but it’s still long! am currently following these dramas as the new episodes air:
Moonlight Chicken Never Let Me Go GAP The Series (am one ep behind tho) HIStory 5: Love in the Future A League of Nobleman
and otherwise am watching The Blood of Youth rn. am probably finishing that this weekend... and then am hopefully starting My School President and either Who Rules The World or When We Meet (both cdramas).
CURRENTLY CONSUMING 👄 the blood of youth episodes and chocolate. it is always chocolate. that is my only comfort while i try surviving work and studies lol
CURRENTLY CRAVING 🫦 instead of any food - bc i ate just now - i’d say a holiday trip to thailand. i’ve been to thailand before but not to that many places there and it would be nice to travel more around the country. i’d also love to appreciate the culture better now that i’m an adult and not only focusing on playing at the pool lol. and i would, of course, also love to go see my boys there haha
ONWARD TAGS 🏷️ sending this to these wonderful ppl: @i-am-just-a-kiddo @wanderlust-in-my-soul @seanwhites @dimpledpran @stormyoceans @ardentlytess @nongnaos @thanawins @pannakorn @liyazaki ♥ i hope you’re all having an amazing weekend!

What is your favorite type moon media that you've checked?
ok, #1 on the list has to be fate hollow ataraxia visual novel because it goes back to a happy place when i was reading it, plus it had the right amount of comedy and action and i love the interactions between characters we hadn't seen having much contact before
if i can consider fgo included, it's also one of my faves, I've been very on and off with this game but it has grown a lot on me
today's menu for the emiya family gives me pure serotonin, also a happy time of when i was watching it because i was not drawing very often back then and i got motivated and drew a spreadsheet of fsn characters being happy and chill
ok, thinking again of happy places, i can't not mention carnival phantasm and fate grand carnival (but tbh carnival phantasm a bit more). it just a show full of serotonin, i can't explain it any other way
i feel like im gonna fall in love with tsukihime, though i can't just say that yet because i haven't finished it, but yeah, i already enjoy it a lot
out of fsn routes i have to say heaven's feel had me literally amused in all kinds of ways, i just love this so so so so much
kara no kyokai was also a movie series that i fell in love with and i really can't wait to see more stuff related to it
melty blood is also aaAAAAJSJS- i have a kinda shitty controller and my fingers hurt after several matches but would still play both games with broken fingers even
i can't really say much about manga series, but surely i would love to check many of them, mostly fate redline though
soooo here's that, i wasn't gonna write a long answer tbh but yeah-- there are some series that i didn't mention, not because i didn't like them, but because they didn't make it that far to the list tbh so yeah sjdkksks

SHERRI LOWE ( CARLSON YOUNG ) is looking for their (1/2) ROOMMATES. they should be 26-36ish and look like Willa Fitzgerald, Kaylee Bryant, Sean Teale, Tommy Martinez, UTP you DO NOT need to contact the player (@withbitterness) before applying.
TYPE OF CONNECTION: platonic
SUGGESTED FC: FC is UTP, but here's a list of some personal faves! Bex Taylor Klaus, Willa Fitzgerald, Maya Hawke, Caitlin Stasey, Raymond Ablack, Anya Chalotra, Henry Golding, Candice King, Dylan O’Brien, Sean Teale, Zion Moreno, Bianca Santos, Jenny Boyd, Paul Wesley, Priscilla Quintana, Blair Redford, Nathalie Kelley, Britt Robertson, Alex Saxon, Ricky Whittle, Samara Weaving, Harry Shum Jr., Lily James, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Alexxis Lemire, Victoria Justice, Camila Mendes, Aria Shahghasemi, etc.!
DESCRIPTION: These muses are Sherri’s roommates. Sherri lives in a 3-bedroom, 1 bath apartment in the Bronx, in the Park Place Suites. For the layout, I am very much stealing the layout to the New Girl apartment for this apartment, only with Schmidt’s room disappearing from it. Here’s an edit of what that would look like. Sherri lives in Room B (Jess’s Room) because even though it’s not the largest room, it has the best closet and lighting in her opinion.
Room A: Open!
Room C: Open!
Sherri has lived in this complex since June 2017 - whether these roommates have also lived with Sherri for this long, or are recent roommates who saw an ad online or smth and moved in after an old roommates moved out is UTP. I just imagine that out of the current tenants, Sherri has been there the longest. Any kind of personality or relationship type (gets along great, act like siblings, always at each other’s throats, constantly warring for bathroom space, the best of friends, etc.) is welcome for her roommates!
Here’s a bit about Sherri’s living tendencies: She is a perfectionist and a workaholic whenever she books a gig, so when she’s booked, her roommates are always aware. And when she’s auditioning, her roommates are also always aware. She sings and dances and practices lines all the time. She can cook. She’s health-conscious and works out regularly. She can be rude and blunt, as well as easily annoyed, but also surprisingly kind (if not nice). When it comes to her clutter, she is paradoxically clean in the kitchen but messy in the bathroom. She’s tactile with roommates she’s close to (if she considers you a friend she will lay on you while watching movies it’s just going to happen). She’s self-centered and talkative and will monopolize her roommate’s time if she has something she needs opinions on (will happen often). She’s a little shit and says she doesn’t like chaotic roommates while, in fact, BEING a chaotic roommate.

I'm not back from my hiatus, but @jaytwosday made a post earlier asking for fic recs and sorta turned my whole shitty day upside down by mentioning me as one of their favorite authors (among a list of MY favorite authors).
So, with that in mind, here's a lil wincest reclist full of works that remind me in one way or another of my own writing (and/or the writing of the other amazing authors on the list – @hathfrozen, rivkat, killabeez, paxlux, and astolat): Five Broken Promises, by @lovetheirloves Words: ~4.3k Summary: Sam made Dean so many promises. My Notes: Standalone getting-together fic from one of my favorite AU 'verses. Achey, breaky perfection. Stupid Sam, noble Dean. A beautiful mess of feelings.
Love Letter, by whereupon Words: ~4.9k Summary: It's almost fall and Sam hasn't said anything about leaving. My Notes: First time. Car porn. Angst. Hot, empty highways.
Almost At Home, by @balefully Words: ~24.3k Summary: Sam graduates from high school in early June in rural Tennessee. He and Dean start the summer with an all-nighter of celebration; the day after, while both fight hangovers, John calls to assign them their first hunt by themselves. They go to northern Virginia to investigate the homicidal ghost of a dangerous escapee of a high-security prison and mental institution whose MO is beheading people with an axe while wearing a filthy, grotesque bunny suit. Then throughout the long, happy summer, as they move around tackling a series of minor hunts together, John's absences grow longer. Sam and Dean explore their relationship as it burgeons into something they've both been craving and which neither of them regrets. My Notes: I forgot to rec this one at the time I read it (was on vacation), so I've forgotten some of the finer details. I know it was an instant fave, though. It was perfectly paced and the level of mutual pining made me feel so many shrimp emotions.
I'll take my chance on a beautiful stranger, by fleshflutter Words: ~3.9k Summary: N/A My Notes: POV from one of Sam's pre-law classmates at Stanford while their small group of students spends winter break in a ski town. Dean happens to be there hustling cards. They don't expect to run into each other. Very good. I'll Have What He's Having, by gekizetsu Words: ~3k Summary: Dean messes with Sam until Sam can’t take any more. Dean shouldn’t do that. Or maybe he should. My Notes: Cracky prankfic where Dean decides to recreate *that scene* from When Harry Met Sally to bother his poor innocent brother. Contains one my my favorite dialogue exchanges in any fic ever.
taste of grave in the mouth, by @fallcolorspringrapid Words: ~3k Summary: Sam puts the gun down on the bed and presses his palms on his thighs to hide the shaking. “I need you to put your gun in my mouth,” he says, voice surprisingly steady, “and not shoot me.” My Notes: Queerplatonic gunsucking. Basically made me hold my breath for ~3k words. Made me feel weird (affectionate). Dark and a little unhinged in just the right way. A depiction of Sam and Dean as seen through the kind of dream-like Fuller-edit horror show lens that lives in my head.
almost rosy, by @shiftylinguini Words: ~5.2k Summary: Dean used to do this for Sam, when he was small and Dad was gone. When no one else was there. When their mom was in the ground instead of down the hall, and Sam had Dean and Dean had―memories, of someone doing this for him. Maybe. It's all shaky before the fire. Maybe he just made that bit up.
Or, in the aftermath of Mary coming back, Dean takes stock of how they're doing. My Notes: I'm so soft over this one. Absolutely beautiful coda post-BMOL-Sam-torture story about Dean washing Sam's hair. I want to burrow into this fic and live there. Toes the line between romantic and QPR gorgeously.
howls in my bones, by @weefaol Words: ~22.7k Summary: When John gets a call to investigate a series of grisly animal killings, he drops Sam and Dean at an abandoned cabin two towns over. The boys find ways to keep busy — playing cards, watching movies, chopping wood — but with a howling winter storm on the way, there’s nowhere for Sam to hide his illicit feelings for his older brother.
As the lure of desire threatens to devour him, Sam must learn to face the wolves that lurk outside and the monsters within. My Notes: Sad and sweet, a thousand big feels that won't go away. Excellent first-time weecest.
Easy on the Clutch, by yourperiphery Words: ~32.5k Summary: In a shit town in New Hampshire, Dean teaches Sam to drive. My Notes: (The link for this one takes you to a Mediafire download page for the PDF of this fic. afaik it's not hosted anywhere online anymore.) Perfect teen longing and tension and sexy achy moments. The amount of times my stomach clenched reading this is frankly embarrassing. (I also HIGHLY recommend the podfic of this story, read by houxvertetbruyere.)
Second Map of the World, by candle_beck Words: ~13.9k Summary: They're on a lucky streak, and then Sam does something ill-considered, and the plot thickens. My Notes: An all-time fave. Perfect from beginning to end. Made me tear up. Solid af metaphors and shit. I don't even know what to say besides OOF.

Umm hi 👉👈 I realized that most of the asks you guys get are about games and rec lists. You guys deserve so much recognition for the work you put in this blog, so I wanted to ask if I can do a little get-to-know-the-mods thing? If that's okay!
1. Besides writing, what are your hobbies?
2. Do you have a niche interest right now?
3. Any fave songs/artists/bands?
4. Any fave movies/tv shows?
5. On a scale of 1-10, how likely would you survive in your wip's world?
You can totally ignore this if you guys want, no pressure. Anyway, much love to all the interact-if mods! You guys are incredible! ❤
We saw this ask and we went 👀 👀 👀 so we’re happy to answer! Thank you so much for the fun ask!
We also rated our survivability in all of our collective games, since Mars isn't an author! Fun stuff! Spoilers, though: it’s really not looking so great for me (Dani) but that’s fine!!!  😌
Tumblr media
1. I’m a photographer as well as a graphic artist (but not like. A painter/drawer kind of artist!) and, on a general level, a maker and a tinkerer!
2. Fountain pens! I only write with ink, and only with fountain pens, and I use bottled inks/converters!
3. I’m pretty eclectic with music, but my top genres are alt rock, indie, indie pop, etc, as well as top 40s and some rap.
4. I feel like this is the hardest one for me to answer? Favorite movies/shows? Avatar: the Last Airbender has been a favorite show of mine since I was a little kid, but I have a harder time thinking of shows I would call a favorite in recent years. There are shows I’ve liked, and a lot of shows I’ve watched. But I’m picky! And demanding! It takes a lot to earn a place in Dani’s Trophy Case of Favorites. 😌 I would say I quite liked A Quite Place (movie), and I liked Us (movie). When it comes to TV shows, I have a hard time being pleased with them if they don’t end well. As a result, I have a penchant for a good limited series/miniseries (because they’re stories that have an end in mind and the plot reflects that, dagnabbit).
5. Heh. Okay.
In The Goodfellows? I think I stand I chance. I can exercise my sparkling wit and lovable personality to the best effect. I’m gonna give myself an 8/10 survivability rating. Even if I don’t have the right skills, I can go crying to the person who does and they’ll save me. Maybe.
In Creatures’ Cradle? I’m super $**!%d. 😌 1/10 survivability rating. And that 1 is me being nice to myself. The day the apocalypse breaks out I would probably be patient 0. I am self-aware. I would not do well in an apocalypse. Zombies care not for aforementioned sparkling wit and lovable personality, and I have all the muscle of a boiled spaghetti noodle. So it’s a no go.
Greater Than Gods (Cruz): Well. I’m going to be optimistic. And say that I have the wisdom not to do things I shouldn’t do and not to rock boats I shouldn’t rock. I’m going to give myself a 7/10 based on insider information, but also based on reckless optimism!
Vardir (Cruz): Cruz says this is a lighthearted game, so 10/10 LOL.
When it Hungers (Roast): I’m giving myself a nice, mediocre 5/10. I think I could put my mind to work here; I joke that I’m the village idiot, but I’m actually pretty smart! Unfortunately, I’m also curious, and maybe a little bad with authorities who won’t answer my questions. So I knocked off a lot of points due to the fact that I’d probably poke the metaphorical bear. So it’s a real coin flip as to whether I’d really make it or not.
Orthall Bay (Nines): Considering the genre is “horror” and the game intro includes the words “monster” and “maim,” I’m giving myself a whooping, enthusiastic 3/10. Yes, folks, I am that confident in myself! Once again, I can’t charm the socks off a monster (or can I?), so one of my greatest weapons is snatched from beneath my feet. Alas!
Tumblr media
1. Beloved I’m a college student in the middle of a pandemic... i can hardly even write LOL i do draw at times which u can see in my personal blog (nothing too good really) and i used to do karate before things went to shit <3
2. Nothing niche I believe? All I do is leave Netflix as bg noise every day n play popular videgames (genshin)
3. Porter Robinson <3 I love Bea Miller a lot as well but lately I’ve been feeling Porter a lot
4. The Good Place <3
5. My WIPs:
Greater than Gods: Highly situational, the world GtG is set in is as broad as the real world LOL so I don’t have an universal answer. But keeping it vague, and knowing my own personality, I feel like 5/10. depends on my luck.
Vardir: 10/10 no one dies in Vikgade, unless you’re a hunter but I wouldn’t be a hunter <3
Others’ WIPs
I'm gonna give myself a solid 5/10 in all other WIPs because y'all aren't writing lighthearted stories either. I feel like as long as I avoid the role of the MC I will be mostly fine. I hope. But as Dani said I'm also prone to fight the wrong person and dig my own grave so 😌

1. Well, writing is a very, very, very, distant hobby since Words Hard, but I like to crochet and sculpt a little! Anything to do with fiddling with my hands and I’m good to go. And like, debatable but graphic design is my passion [insert clown emoji here since Tumblr said No]
2. Oh yeah a bunch! DnD yelling at people, thinking of arson, crocheting, rock climbing and simply vibing. I got into podcasts a few years ago and I’m always looking for more recs, so if you have some, hmu 😤
3. Pls,,,,my music taste is,,,so weird do not let me expose myself with lack of consistency but uhh. Current songs that are stuck in my head include; Cult of Dionysus , Achilles Come Down and The Last Shanty
4. If you’ve ever spoken to me before, I probably yelled about Pacific Rim to you or at you. Plus I love all The Mummy films and really enjoyed Castlevania (s3 excluded, we do not perceive that) as well!
5. Ah, mod survival simulator pt. 3
Alright, let’s go!  I don’t have a WIP because again, words hard, but like, considering how feral I am when not tryna seem professional hm...
The Goodfellows: I wanna say a solid 7/10 because I’d hardcore vibe with the Traveler and probably instigate so much nonsense. I can also bribe with blueberry cake so maybe.
Creature’s Cradle: maybe a 4/10 and only because of pure spite keeping me alive long enough to smack someone. I’ve prepared for hypothetical  zombie apolcapyses and I won’t hesitate to bap, but will be bapped back because I’m weak as hell.
Greater Than Gods: a toss up between 2/10 and 7/10! I can vibe and be chill but I also have terrible impulse control so...
Vardir: hm....I think pretty good survival rates all around? If you ask me to fight then like, okay sure, your knees are mine. So maybe a 8/10?
When it Hungers: .......8/10 just because I’d refuse to die if I can be a cool creature. Living for the aesthetic can and will drag me outta hell. But I’m also clumsy as hell so I’d probably crash as a porcelain or hold a rooster and perish (aka, real rating is a good 3/10)
Orthall Bay: 2/10, nope. Nope I’d be taken out in a heartbeat. Monsters can go pspsps and I’d head straight into the dark creepy forest like a fool if someone comes @ me. Half the time I’ll just assume it’s sfx makeup and vibe until it’s too late.
god, never put me in a universe where I cannot squawk like a bird and throw pebbles from a window. Oof

Anon, you're so sweet! I give you a forehead smoomch <333 As for your questions...
1. If I'm not writing, I'm usually watching video essays on Youtube. My go-to channels as of right now is Disrupt and Aperture! I just really like their videos. Aside from that, I recently got into podcasts. Currently going through Hello From The Hallowoods and Shelter and Warning, which are made by queer creators!
2. Oh oof, there's quite a bit so I'm just gonna put down one thing. For some reason, I really got into collecting tiny astronaut things? I recently bought this astronaut desk light, and I've got a package coming in for the miniatures I ordered. No purpose for them other than I think they're neat <3
3. I'm a bit private with my music taste (even tho I have Spotify connected on Discord lmao), but there's 5 songs that I'm currently obsessed with. I keep replaying them over and over again. Just squeezing all the serotonin I could get outta them.
4. I can't really say I have a fave TV show or movie because I can't really just pick one, but my current fave is 9-1-1 and Resident Alien. 9-1-1 because I just really love the found-family dynamics and how the show tackles sensitive topics, and Resident Alien because it's lighthearted comedy. My all-time fave movie is Flipped! I have the book too and I like rereading from time to time <3
5. You're in for a doozy, anon, because we're rating each other's games <333
The Goodfellows: 7/10
Listen. Shenanigans with the Traveler. I would get up to so many of them and that is what'll get me possibly bodied, not the actual environment itself <3
Greater than Gods: 7/10
I like to think I have enough common sense to uhhh not recklessly flip stones that should not be flipped <3 I'm a cautious and skeptic person irl so I think I'll hold up well? Then again, it's a vast environment change and while I can adapt pretty quick, I wouldn't like the lack of control in the unknown.
Vardir: 10/10
Going off what Cruz said, Vardir is lighthearted and focused on personal growth so I think I'll be okay! Self-growth here I come, babey!
Creatures' Cradle: 8/10
Maybe I'm overestimating myself, but I think I'll be able to survive in a supernatural post-apocalyptic world! Ah, but it depends on the motivation though. I like the idea of rebuilding communities and eventually societies, but the survival turmoil would be a constant battle I'd have to overcome. If we're talking survival itself though, I think I'll do well.
When it Hungers: 8/10
That's probably my wishful thinking but I think I'll be fine. Maybe. Possibly. Don't like the idea of being regulated by an organization so if I was a non-human creature that could pose a problem but I can roll with it <3
Orthall Bay: 6/10
Assuming I'm not playing as MC, my chances of survival uhhh changes quite drastically. Not enough to guarantee an untimely demise, but certainly enough that it would constantly keep me on my toes. I think that's the safest answer I can get without spoiling anything lmao
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for asking! It's super sweet of you <3
1. Too many :'D I knit, I sew, I do carpentry (well, learning), I bake, I'm hammering away at HTML and CSS, my job kind of encourages learning new things and I take that to picking up new hobbies!
2. My time is kind of consumed with school work and work work and WIP work so not a lot of time to pursue niche interests right now. I've been watching a lot of horror game playthroughs, true crime youtubers, and an adorable show on Netflix called the Repair Shop <3
3. My taste in music is "what am I vibing with atm?" I've been listening to a lot of 80's music atm (don't @ me), but also Lo Fang and Kaleo, and whatever spotify recommends me on my discover weekly which is usually complete chaos.
4. I love the Mummy even though it hasn't aged 100% well (I'm a librarian, of course it's one of my gotos LOL), Legally Blonde, Leverage, Jumanji (the original), I'm....very bad at having recent tastes... and very bad at remembering my favorites when asked.
Tumblr media
5.
The Goodfellows: I'm a creature of comfort, 5/10 if I can just luxuriate in town and not actually interact with the story sfjkdbsdkf
Creature’s Cradle: I'd like to think I have a 50/50 shot XD 5/10, I want to think I'd be decent at a zombie apocalypse but ultimately would suffer an early fate.
Greater Than Gods: 10/10 if I'm just vibing, less so if I'm involved in the actual story XD
Vardir: I'd still suffer without technology but I can also knit for a living in this world so I'm down 8/10
When it Hungers: I feel like I could vibe here, there's tech if dated, hot showers, telephones are around by now... might still get bored. 7/10 though it'd be cool to be another creature....I should make a 'what creature of snv are you' quiz!
Orthall Bay: 7/10 idk I feel like after the first monster of the week I'd just skip town XDDDD I'm the worst protagonist, I see danger I just leave.

what are your fave movies of all time and why? also that other ask you got and your response made me check out picture us in the light and butterfly soup, and I love them!
Wait seriously?? That makes me so happy ahhh!! I think Butterfly Soup and especially Picture Us are criminally underrated and not talked about enough and I’m always so thrilled when more people know about them!
I don’t consider myself a film buff at all— I know nothing about what constitutes “good” filmmaking and I haven’t seen many “classics,” but I’m always drawn to a good and intriguing story.
Here’s my list:
Ponyo
Ratatouille
A Silent Voice
Bao
Big Hero 6
Love Simon
The Farewell
More under the cut! Thank you again for asking!
Ponyo: This movie honestly feels like pure sunshine and nostalgia in an adorable package. My favorite thing about Ghibli is how they can add a touch of wonder and serenity to the simplest, mundane things, like a good meal or lying in a grassy meadow. But with Ponyo, you have that plus the pure elation of a little fish-girl discovering things like human food and electricity for the first time, and it’s just a treat to watch. I think movies (especially animated ones) for and about young kids occupy a very fine line between endearing and annoying. However, Ponyo feels like an utterly joyous movie about the magic and fun of early childhood that anyone can enjoy. Ponyo felt like Totoro, but almost for a new generation of kids— same director, but a brighter color palette, faster pacing, more exciting action sequences, wackier magic, and a lighter and softer tone. Ponyo’s joy is utterly infectious (who hasn’t freaked out over some good ham and instant ramen??) and Sosuke is best boy. Watching Ponyo always feels like a warm hug. Honorable Ghibli mentions: Whisper of the Heart, Kiki’s Delivery Service, When Marnie Was There, Howl’s Moving Castle, The Secret World of Arrietty Ratatouille: I grew up watching way more Pixar than Disney, and I think Ratatouille embodies what made the two studios different. I was always more drawn to Pixar’s novel concepts and how each film was so distinct compared to Disney’s long line of princess films and fantasy stories. Rataouille is one of those movies that has something new every time I watch it. It’s got great physical comedy for the kids, but also has a shockingly intelligent script and moving lessons about creativity, individuality, and integrity. It has a surprisingly realistic ending, which I appreciate about a lot of Pixar movies. I’m also just super drawn to the elegant French aesthetic (the shot of the Paris skyline still looks amazing all these years later) and beautiful shots of food. Honorable Pixar mentions: Monsters Inc., Wall-E, Up, Coco, Inside Out, Soul, Turning Red (probably)
A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi): As far as anime films go, this one is really something special. It’s long and slow-paced, but it’s one I never get tired of rewatching. Both the original manga and the film adaptation were written/directed by women and everything about the movie (the shots, characterization, and the relationships between the characters) had such a different touch compared to the male-dominated anime I’ve seen. Along with that, I appreciate that it shed light on bullying and suicide, which are serious problems in Japan, without being preachy. The characters handle their problems imperfectly, but it feels more real and honest that way. I loved that this movie forgoes a romance for a story about self-forgiveness and self-love instead. It’s such a subversion of the typical (and usually American) underdog story of the bullying victim, where instead Shoya was only the scapegoat and part of the problem. You really grow to root for him and his personal triumphs keep this sad film from becoming too depressing. The soundtrack is really nothing like I’ve heard— full of muted, ambient tracks— except for “lit,” the song that plays during the final scene. The ending practically makes the movie for me. The rest of the movie is great, but the ending feels like one of the most masterfully cathartic sequences I’ve ever seen in a film. Bao: This short film should be called “how to reduce Asian American/Canadian kids to a blubbering mess in 8 minutes.” I just talked about Ratatouille, but I had to give Bao its own entry because of how much it meant to me. I think you can really tell when a piece of media is made authentically by not only the broad strokes, but the details. The first 30 seconds of the short when the mother kneading dough and folding baozi grabbed my attention immediately because that’s exactly how it looks in real life— the animators referenced Domee Shi’s mom’s own hand movements when kneading dough. This truly felt like an Asian Canadian woman’s passion project because every detail of the Toronto home felt like a loving Asian household: the scroll art, slippers in the house, the mouthwatering shots of Chinese food, all the adorable Chinese baked goods!!! 😭 And the plot twist works because it feels honest: mothers are imperfect and can be overprotective, and that can hurt their children sometimes. It makes the mother and son’s reconciliation hit that much harder. I couldn’t believe how moving an 8-minute movie about a freaking dumpling could be. I know Turning Red will likely make it onto this list as well and Domee Shi will find a way to strike me in the feels again!
Big Hero 6: I was getting really tired of the Frozen mania by 2014, and the this movie grabbed me like one of Baymax’s hugs and refused to let go. I was obsessed with it for months and I think I’ve seen this movie about 7 times since then and it still doesn’t get old. After Mulan, this was the first animated Disney movie with an Asian protagonist, but Hiro felt far more relatable to me since he was an awkward 14-year-old with an older sibling living in a contemporary setting. San Fransokyo was so visually exciting, and the slightly advanced technology made the world feel new and fresh while still feeling believable. The plot point of Tadashi’s death felt refreshingly weighty compared to other Disney deaths. I love family stories, and my love for this movie is definitely echoed in LiS2 and TC, whose main sibling dynamics remind me of Hiro and Tadashi. Even though it was a superhero story, it still made time to depict grief in a way that kids could understand, but didn’t sugarcoat it. I love that this movie had it all— a fun cast of characters, exciting action sequences, sadness, humor, and so much heart. Disney honorable mentions: Lady and the Tramp, Mulan, Tangled, Zootopia Love, Simon: Look, I get the criticisms for this movie. It’s a very basic story; it cast a straight actor in the lead role, it still caters to a majority straight audience by presenting an average, white, unassuming closeted gay kid and the portrayal of Simon’s friends felt unsupportive and inadequate to most queer viewers. But at the same time, this was revolutionary for its time and gave closeted queer teens a mainstream romance movie that made them visible without ignoring their unique struggles. It was a simple, slightly cheesy, but all-around entertaining and fun gay romcom that didn’t sexualize its characters or end in tragedy. The Farewell: I loved this movie for not only what I could relate to but also what I couldn’t. Like Picture Us In the Light, The Farewell so wonderfully captures the constant, and sometimes infuriating, East-West tension that children of immigrants experience. But Billi’s case is different: she was born in China and was old enough to remember her early childhood there, but young enough to adapt to American life and start to disagree with the Chinese values she was raised with. That’s so difficult to grapple with and really emphasizes the reality of immigration. America loves to tout the immigrant success story, but these immigrants are leaving behind their entire families, livelihoods, and homes to start over in a new country, and for a young child, that’s all the more terrifying. The entire movie felt so honestly written because it was based on Lulu Wang’s own experiences and her great aunt even played herself in the movie. Compared to Crazy Rich Asians’ spectacle, The Farewell was a far more subdued, realistic, and personal kind of Asian American story that still managed to have a universal appeal. I can’t wait for Lulu Wang’s next project. Honorable A24 mentions: The Florida Project, Minari, Lady Bird, and Room. I’m also looking forward to Everything Everywhere All at Once!

Viv’s Favourite Musicals (in film)
1. Phantom of the Opera - 2004
Tumblr media
All time favourite musical! I remember watching this in band class and immediately falling in love with Gerard Butler. Do I know all of the songs off by heart and constantly sing them in the shower. Absolutely! The lovely voices and the misery of the characters will transport you to a perfect melancholic past.
2. Hamilton - 2017
Tumblr media
I’m considering this a film because of Disney’s release of it’s 2016 recording. Please, you need to see this play, the lyrics are great and the humour is perfectly entwined with the historical accuracy. This play really helped me through my political history of British North America class in university.
3. Les Miserables - 2012
Tumblr media
Now, this movie and play are very long, and every moment is filled with music. But the agony, joy, and misery are so resoundant in the beautiful melodies and lyrics. “I Dream a Dream” and “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” are my all time faves.
4. 8 Mile - 2002
Tumblr media
Not your conventional musical style, but I love this movie. The raps will have you bopping and the story will have you teary-eyed. This movie is a must-see. Snap back to reality folks.
5. Moulin Rouge - 2001
Tumblr media
This movie is crazy but heart-wrenching at the same time. It is almost a magical world of modern song covers (1 original song/I think it was actually written for Titanic) mixed with a 19th century (or early 20th, I forget) vibe. I just love the chemistry and outlandishness that Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor give off here.
6. Into the Woods - 2014
Tumblr media
Literally, just this scene right here is why this movie is on the list.
7. Hairspray - 2007
Tumblr media
Good Morning Baltimore! Back when me and my mom were obsessed with Zac Efron. This movie is so nostalgic for me and the songs are great to sing in the shower. The content is also very relevant to the environment of America today.
8. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - 2007
Tumblr media
Super gory, and super good. A Victorian England story of a serial killer, looking to get revenge for the loss of his wife and daughter. Basically every character in this movie is morally grey, so it’s interesting to see where you as an audience member stand in the end.
9. The Greatest Showman - 2017
Tumblr media
And a Zac Efron revival. An empowering and nice story of accepting one’s self and ignoring the judgement of others so you, yourself can succeed in a narrow-minded world.
10. Beauty and the Beast - 2017
Tumblr media
A great take on the classic Disney movie. It is just close enough to the original to be nostalgic and far enough away from it (with fresh elements and new songs) to be considered its own refreshing thing.
