OK, so here's the vision!

Branch loves all types of music, he has no preference, and he likes learning more from his friends about their culture.

During his time working on his solo career, Floyd met a few different trolls from different trolls, and listened to their music. He found he really liked Rock, just as much as he likes Pop

Bruce got to meet a lot of different trolls, with all different types of music from working at the restaurant on Vaycay Island for so long. He's not like Branch, he's a pop troll through and through, but he can appreciate the other genres.

John Dory spent a good few years near/in Lonesome Flats. At first, it was just so he wasn’t as alone as he was in the mountains. But he ended up becoming a part of the tribe for a while. He left because of an awkward breakup

And finally, Clay (and Viva and the other Put-put Trolls) doesn't know much about the other trolls and genres, thanks to their isolation, and no one in their group having that knowledge. Clay's first time hearing about it, was from Branch and Poppy talking about their adventures during the rock-apocalpse, and in trollstopia while traveling back from saving Floyd. Then the rest of his brothers chime in with their own experiences, and suddenly that's all their talking about, and poor Clay and Viva are so confused

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.
