More Keith & Grey!Branch Headcannons

For Branches Birthday, Keith made a picture frame out of sticks, decorated it with flowers and leaves, and then placed a photo of the two of them into it. Branch almost cried when he saw it. For the longest time, this was the only picture with him in it that he hung in his Bunker.  

For Keiths Birthday, Branch carved a little wooden doll for him, and baked him a personal pie he remembered Keith saying he liked. Keith screamed when Branch gave them to him. He then proceeded to show off the little wooden tall to his parents and all the other trolling's in his scout group 

Keith got into an argument with some other trolling's about if Grey was a color. Keith was insistent that, yes grey is a color, Branch is Grey, and all trolls have colors, so obviously grey is a color. Another trolling says that her parents said trolls aren’t not supposed to be grey, and that he’s grey because he’s weird and unhappy. This throws Keith for a loop because, what? Branch isn’t unhappy? He smiles all the time when they hangout! Sure, sometimes he seems a bit sadder than other trolls. And he’s kind of grumpy before you get to know him, but he’s not unhappy!  

Keith complains about it to Branch the next time he sees him, and Branch tries to softly explain that, yes, he is unhappy, and yes that is the reason why he’s grey. But it’s ok, because he doesn’t care. Keith pouts, and insists again, that he is happy. And it’s not like he’s completely grey. “Your eyes are blue!” Which confuses the heck out of Branch for the rest of the day. When did his eyes turn blue? 

Keith watches Branch whittle wood, and decides he really wants to learn. He begs Branch to teach him, but Branch is a little cautious about teaching a little kid to use a knife (Sure, he learned at Keiths age, but his childhood wasn’t exactly normal... Or safe). So he asks Keiths parents if it’s alright first, before making any promises. Keiths parents are also cautious about the idea, but they decide that if the three of them come up with ground rules for Keith, and Keith follows them, then he can learn.

A redesigned version of a crossover between MHA and Saiki K!

OK, four years ago, right before Covid & quarantine shut everythingdown, I was super into MHA & Saiki K! I ended up writing a crossover fanfic between the two, posting it on ao3. After a few chapters, I ended up loosing motivation for writing it, though not before drawing a few pieces of art, showing off the hero costume I'd designed for Saiki.

Recently,I rewatched/caught up with MHA, which led me to going through that old crossover au. I was then hit with the urge to draw/redesign my Hero!Saiki. So here it is!

I'm so proud with how it came out! Not because it's my best design or best drawing, but because it's proof of how much progress I've made in my art!

This was the original, from back in 2020!

Back then, I was just starting to figure out how to do more poses, and I was still figuring out my art style. Now a days though, I'm really happy with my art style and am more comfortable with drawing more complex poses(even though I'm not showcasing it in the new piece).

Anyways, this art piece made me ridiculously emotional in a way, and really proud of my progress!

Part 3 of The Argument in my Muted Colors AU

Branch, Poppy, and Clay are working out a proper plan. With John Dory keeping to the sides, preferring to mainly let them figure it out.

Bruce, though, is coming to some realizations about his youngest brother thanks to his olders own admittance. And he feels more than a little silly with how it had to literally be spelled out for him. It seems so obvious now. Their colors are so dull.

Hey! I hope this isn't too much to ask! What do you think about this idea?

John Dory going through emotional pain and finding out that he has a deep love for hard rock music because he can be loud and express his emotions with the music as loud as he needs it to be? He preforms his rock music in a talent show and HIS FATHER SHOWS UP (!!!) and turns out to be (omg) a HARD ROCK TROLL!

This is a super cool idea!

I personally see John being more interested in Country, and the brothers having lost their parents during a Trollstice, but I do like this concept!

I've also always loved the idea that one of their parents was a Rock troll!

how John Dory's colors change more often than Branch's. I just have the image in my head that in the fight he turns almost gray.

Here's the vision:

Branchs colors change sometimes, but when they do, they're only slight shade differences that only happen when he's having strong emotions, like feeling extremely happy = his hair changing from blackish-blue to a dark blueish-purple, or him feeling extremely upset = his fur/skin color to change from the dark teal ots normally at back to a more grey w/a hint of teal.

His colors only change slightly, and only when he feels strong emotions, because (thanks to poppy & his friends) he's better at regulating his emotions and just allowing himself to feel them.

John colors, on the other hand, change with a drop of a hat because he doesn't have a good hold on his emotions. Since getting his colors back, he's essentially been lying to himself. Telling himself, and then his brothers, that he's fine now. He's happy, so he's fine, because he's not grey anymore. He's not allowing himself to feel other emotions the same way Branch does. This leads to bursts of emotions he can't handle, that change his color more often, when compared to Branch.

For example, when he's asked what he'd been up to for the past 22 years, and/or why he never came back/reached out, he'll refuse to say anything. He'll just smile, waving the question off with a "I was just traveling". But despite the smile and nonchalant answer, his colors would darken/dull. It might not be obvious, but it would still be there.

However, this doesn't happen when he's happy because he allows himself to feel that in the moment. So unless he was upset, and his colors were darker than normal, his colors aren't going to brighten.

Also, while I do see his colors start to dull during the fight, I don’t see him going completely grey. Not the way Ive planned it.

Keith in different outfits for different scenes!

First fully colored drawing i do in a while, and I make a few outfit designs for Keith in my AU! That feels on brand for me, but also, LOOK AT MY SWEET BOY!

First, his outfit for King Gristle and Bridget's wedding. I gave him a purple sparkly vest to match Branch, then matching leg warmers. On top of that, I gave him a bunch of flowers in his hair(each color represents his parents) because I thought he might be co-flower boy with Tiny. Forgetting there's also ring bearers

Next, an outfit for the Pop Medley in Lonesome Flats. I wasn’t sure what to do outside of the glasses and giving him sparkly shorts. Plus, I brightened his hair a bit and gave him a flower earring (I've been giving him w flower theme).

Lastly, we've got him all ready for the holidays! With a simple green scarf, and a red & white pair of earmuffs. This could count for either holiday special, but I did it with the first one in mind.

What do you guys think? My favorite is his wedding outfit (^m^ )

muted colours au is so interesting to me bc of the timeframe youve alotted: between the news of the rock apocalypse n trolls 3 is about a month (because of tiny’s age) and branch got his full colours back in trolls 1 but they had faded by the first holiday special (approx. 6-7 months after the first movie i did the math) so theoretically john could still be bright when meeting branch again but slowly be fading to muted. despite him feverishly insisting hes actually Happy now he doesn’t know why this is happening. maybe the fading could be sped up by his brothers’ anger towards him 💀. i dont know what you plan with this au but i hope this is some food for thought <3

Definitely gave me stuff to think about. Mainly, how the timeline of this au actually works. Cause I think I've changed when and how John gets his colors back at least once in my head. So, I'm gonna probably work on that.

Also, John's colors 100% change a lot more frequently than Branchs. This being because he doesn't have a support system like Branch, and he doesn't have as good of a grasp on his emotions has Branch.

Though, him insisting he's happy and ok now, even when he's not, is so on brand for John

Some more Keith & Branch as brother headcannons!

These ones are set after Branches colors return

- The first thing Keith does when Branch gets his colors back, is excitedly point out that Branches hair matches his own.

- With Branch trying to reintegrate back into the village, he’s not spending all his time in the woods anymore and instead spends a lot of time with the Snackpack. This does not stop Keith from following Branch around, nor does Branch stop him. He likes their little schedule they have going on, even if what they're doing has changed.

- The Snackpack takes this in stride, and each of them absolutely adore Keith (Plus, slight trauma bond from their small time being captured by Chef)

- Sometimes when they’re explaining certain holidays to Branch, they’ll pretend they're explaining it to just Keith, to make Branch feel better.

- Out of the rest of the snackpack, Keith probably ends up being the closest to Smidge, with Smidge following around & helping Poppy, Keith following & hanging around Branch, and Branch & Poppy hanging out together too. Plus, the two can be seen as intense in their own ways, so I can see them getting along.

- Because CJ and Keith become friends, DJ and Branch end up hanging out a lot more too. The two totally tease each other a bunch

- Since he’s a young kid with a very active (And morbid) imagination, Keith often gets horrible nightmares from being captured by the Bergens and then witnessing Creek being ‘eaten’.

- He’s a little embarrassed by them at first, and refuses to bring it up to anyone. His parents know, because they hear him screaming at night, but this is one of the only things he doesn’t tell Branch. However, his parents struggle a bit, not knowing how to help Keith, so his mom, Tulip, would start asking around to see if anyone knows how to deal with constant night terrors and would be willing to help. She eventually asks Branch (She knows she should have just gone to him first, but she also didn’t want to assume that, just because he was grey for so long meant he got regular night terrors), who has a whole list of things that could help. The list ranges from ways to help Keith go back to sleep, to things that could help him get into a more relaxed/deep sleep from the beginning.

- Keith also copes through his stories. They get darker, and less of them have happy endings for a while.
