You were eating pizza watching law and order when you hear a knock on your door going and opening the door to see Ben in a tuxedo with his eyes puffy "What's wrong? What happened?" you ask as he walks in going and grabbing a cola from your fridge as you close the door following him.You grab his arm as he tries to walk away getting his attention "Ben what's going on?" you ask as he sighs looking at the ceiling "It was a bet...not just on my end" he says as he looks at you "I thought she was the one and it was all nothing" he says sitting down on the couch as he grabs a slice of pizza eating as you sit beside him.You and ben had been friends since you two met in middle school at 11 and 12 being in band him playing saxophone and you playing flute meeting through a friend of his and being each other's keepers since that point on from helping and sometimes doing his homework for him and covering for him when he ditched school to him protecting you from being bullied and dealing with boys who tried to grope or annoy you but the two of you also helped deal with personal things as well as school.You smile at memories of the two of you as ben looks at you "It was because of you" he says as you look at him confused "My bet was because I'm in love with you but I didn't think you felt the same way so I tried to find someone else so I wouldn't be hurt if I told you" he says as you sit in shock but also happiness at his confession making you brave your feelings slowly leaning forward grabbing his face and kissing him moving away looking at the floor nervous that now your feelings would be rejected despite what he said seconds earlier.You look at ben as he grabs your hand "It's you...your the one I want" he says as you stare into his soul as he smiles at you squeezing your hand "The person I want to be by my side,the person who takes care of me when I'm sick,the person who always is willing to defend me when I'm not around and even when I can,the person I want to be with for the rest of my life is you" you smile big as he holds your face in his hands gently kissing you as you kiss back both of you laughing as you sit in his lap watching late night crime eating pizza until you both went into your bedroom holding each other under the covers until both of you fell asleep with your head on his chest listening to his heartbeat.
