taking transfem stevie at a metal concert into my own hands yall gotta see the potential
also on ao3 here
This isn't Eddie's first rodeo. When he sees the pretty girl standing at the side of the concert, looking out of place in her baby pink sweater and light-wash jeans, he wonders what the hell a girl like this is doing at a metal concert, clutching a bottle of coke and watching the crowd like a hawk. And more importantly, as a red-blooded American male, he wonders what he can do to make her look at him that intensely.
So he sidles up to her, gives his best winning smile that shows off his dimples, and introduces himself.
“Hey,” he says. “Hope you don't mind the cliché, but I gotta ask: what's a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?”
The girl gives him a sideways look. She's got pretty eyes, droopy and a lovely warm brown, and her face seems to go through a wild array of emotions before settling on something lightly amused, huffing out a laugh.
“Babysitting,” she says. She's got a nice voice too, a little husky but musical. Eddie’d love to hear her sing. “Some kids I used to watch in middle school wanted to come, but their parents wouldn't let them unless I came to make sure they stay out of- what's that thing called where everyone makes a big circle and beats the shit out of each other? The mash pit?”
She says it with an adorable tilt to her head, her shoulder length brown hair bouncing a little as she does, and Eddie swears he falls in love right then. Mash pit. That's hilarious.
“The mosh pit, yeah, good call. Not the best place for little kiddies.”
The girl snorts. “Not that little. They're seniors in high school, I’m only like five years older than them. Doesn't stop them calling me mom though, little shits.”
Eddie laughs. He likes this girl. “Well, I’m Eddie,” he says, holding out his hand. The girl gives it a slightly bemused look, and shakes it. “Can I get momma bear a drink? Another coke?”
She looks at him for a second, assessing him somehow, then shrugs. “Sure, as long as you promise never to call me that again. I’m Stevie.”
“Stevie,” he says, rolling the name over his tongue. It suits her. “Pretty name for a pretty girl. Be right back!”
Stevie blushes a pretty pink as he leaves, practically the same shade as her sweater, and as much as Eddie’d like to stay to see what else he can say to put that colour on her face, he's made a promise.
He makes his way over to the little bar at the back of the concert and orders a coke for her and a beer for him. As he's waiting for the bartender to pass him the drinks, he hears someone call his name.
“Henderson!” he yells, immediately pulling the kid into a hug and obligatory noogie. “Been too long man, look at you! Almost human sized!”
It's been three years since he'd last seen any of his little sheepies, since he'd put Hawkins in his rear view mirror and gotten the hell out of dodge. He'd missed them. And Dustin had shot up in those years, as tall as Eddie now. If Eddie's not careful he'll start to tear up.
“Fuck off man,” Dustin says, goofy grin spread wide across his face. “Come on, you gotta say hi to everyone! Mike and Will are here too- Lucas didn't wanna come he'll be so pissed-”
As Dustin says it, the bartender returns, setting down the beer and the coke. Dustin clocks it immediately, little genius that he is.
“Oh are you with someone?” he gasps dramatically. “Does Eddie the Banished finally have a girlfriend?”
Eddie rolls his eyes as he grabs the drinks. “No, but I was working on that before I was so rudely accosted by a child-” pause for outrage- “but don't worry man, I'll be right over, it's been way too long, gotta see how my babies have been doing navigating the hell that is high school without me! Just lemme drop her drink off, I don't wanna be rude.”
Dustin nods, following behind Eddie as he weaves through the crowd, talking a mile a minute about Hellfire and all the campaigns they've been running the past few years. Eddie half listens, but honestly kind of tunes him out. The crowd is thick and loud, he's trying not to spill the drinks, and honestly, while he loves the kid, Dustin kind of sucks at re-telling stories. He'll get the rundown from Will later.
All this means he doesn't notice when Dustin falls silent, just as they reach Stevie. Her eyes are wide as she sees them, blankly taking the coke from Eddie and staring at Dustin with a weirdly panicked look on her face.
“Sorry, baby, really wanted to get to know you better but I ran into-”
“The girl you were flirting with is Stevie????” Dustin shrieks, and god, Eddie’d forgotten how loud he could get.
He looks back and forth between the two of them. “You two know each other?”
Stevie sighs, looking up to the sky as if begging god to strike her down. “Yeah, this is one of the kids I’m babysitting.”
Something niggles at the back of Eddie's mind, even as Dustin and Stevie get into a heated back-and-forth about the use of the term ‘babysitting’ which ends up in Stevie getting Dustin in a loving sisterly headlock. Something about how Stevie said she’d babysat the kids since middle school, about how she kind of looks familiar if he tilts his head just right, about how when Eddie first met these kids they'd never shut up about-
“So yeah, sorry about this, and thanks for the coke,” Stevie says, avoiding eye contact even as she maintains her grip on Dustin. He seems to have given up fighting now and has resigned himself to his position tucked up against her side. Eddie's never been more jealous in his life. “Uh, last I saw Mike and Will were over by the stage, if you wanna catch up with-”
“Wait, Harrington?” The cogs in Eddie's brain have finally stopped turning, and arrived at the inevitable conclusion. Because yeah, looking at her again, this girl is definitely Harrington. Same hair, if a little longer, same golden skin spattered with moles, same bedroom eyes. The only major difference is the boobs (and the hips and the thighs and the lip gloss and good god, those boobs- Eddie's gotta stop that train of thought. Dustin’s right there).
Eddie's still pretty sure the reason he failed his second senior year was because of Harrington. He'd just figured out he was bisexual, and as a man with working eyes he'd immediately developed an unhealthy infatuation with the prettiest boy in school. They had like every other class together, and Eddie had not absorbed a single word any of their teachers had said during them.
At his words, Stevie's face shuts down. She drops Dustin, who immediately places himself between her and Eddie, eyes flitting back and forth between them as he shuffles uncomfortably.
“Uh, yeah. Well, it's Henderson now, my parents didn't exactly love-” she waves a hand vaguely up and down her body- “this. But Mrs. Henderson took me in, so…”
She's tense, and so is Dustin, and it breaks Eddie’s heart a little bit. He knows it never really came up during Hellfire, although he'd tried his best to let them, Will especially, know that everyone was welcome there, no matter what flavour of freak they were. But Stevie doesn't know that, and Dustin doesn't know it for sure, so he does his best to look non-threatening.
“That's cool. Not the parents kicking you out thing- that sucks obviously- but I bet Dustin’s psyched you're officially his sister. Kid never shut up about you during school.”
And watching Stevie relax at that, the little smile that paints her lips, it's intoxicating. She's so beautiful when she smiles. Eddie never wants her to stop.
“Thanks,” she says, quiet. If Eddie wasn't paying probably the most attention he's ever paid in his life to this woman, he might not have caught it over the sound of the music and the crowd. “And hey, I’m sorry about how I was during school, if I ever-”
Eddie waves her off. “Honestly you weren't that bad. It was mostly your friends. And I mean, benefit of hindsight, I can see why you wouldn't wanna speak up, draw attention to yourself.”
“Still,” she says with a little shrug. “Not cool.”
Eddie grins. “And heaven forbid the queen of Hawkins High do anything uncool.”
Stevie laughs, a beautiful bubbling sound that seems to surprise her as much as it does him. “Yeah, I guess.”
And the night goes on. Stevie waves over Mike and Will and they spend the rest of the concert barely listening to the music, just reminiscing and catching up. Eddie insists on buying all of Stevie's cokes and she insists on buying all of his beers. And at the end of the night, Stevie piles the kids into her beemer, the same one she had all of high school, and turns to look at Eddie. She's got that look in her eyes again, sharp, assessing, and Eddie has to fight off a blush.
“Here,” she says, pulling a pen out of her purse and pulling Eddie's hand close. She writes a number on it. “Call me sometime. And Henderson I guess, we do live together. So you know, don't open up with anything too weird, he could answer.”
“No accidentally flirting with your little brother, got it,” Eddie replies with a giggle. He's so happy he feels high. This is embarrassing, he's pathetic.
“Good,” she laughs. Gives his hand a little squeeze before she pulls back and gets into her car.
He watches her go with a little wave, and makes sure she's definitely gone before he does a dumb little jump and punches the air. He looks down at the number on the back of his hand. There's a little heart next to it. He's never washing his hand again.

I have been thinking about this ask since I got it and as to the question of why John treated people the way he did, especially Paul. My take on this situation is that John Lennon was not allowed to grow up by the environment and people he was surrounded by and so he could not envision the future consequences of his actions the way that the average adult can. This with the addition of his constant drug use (which in all likelihood left him with significant brain damage) meant that he could not function the way an adult should.
John actually did have periods of emotional growth where he looked inward, changed, and tried to do better. These moments took place before he got famous, when he was faced with adversity and he rose to meet it.
IMO Hamburg 1960 was such a time. John partied, he found new pills to take, he experimented with kissing and shagging men, he discovered transgender people (and shagged them), and had a lot of ups and downs with his boyfriend(s) and his group. It is easy to dismiss this as mindless hedonism but as a retired hedonist myself (though I never pushed as hard as John did) I will tell you: hedonism can lead to introspection and self knowledge. John really pushed it to its limits and he almost lost Paul because of it but I think the Great Unknown that happened in Hamburg pushed John to actively change. He cleaned himself up a bit especially once Stuart left to be with Astrid. Once he came back to Liverpool (after enduring the trauma of his bandmates being ripped from him, yet another violent separation that no doubt would have left him in an emotional tailspin) he rested, hooked up with Cynthia, and then went looking for Paul knowing that he needed him to make this band thing work. Like, John spent a few weeks in his bedroom not speaking to anyone once he went home. He didn't want to be seen, he wanted to sleep and eat hot food, and think. He was considering whether he should continue with the band or not, if this was really worth it. Which implies there was a precarious moment where John was thinking of just ending The Beatles. He decided that the plan still had merit, ran into George, and then went to fetch Paul. A few months of light groveling and nagging later, Paul was his again. John committed to The Beatles and therefore committed to Paul. Paris was the culmination of this change and John's reward for putting in the work, and from what we can gather, Paul made every inch worth John's while.
The Beatlemania years leading up to Sgt. Pepper and psychedelia. This was period is more like 1961-1965 Shea Stadium. From here it was an upward climb and subsequently the most intense period of his relationship with Paul. I don't think this was just youthful enthusiasm and the flush of a new relationship, I think John was learning and growing as a person thanks to this adversity. He bonded even closer to Paul which resulted in their intimacy deepening; John's songwriting matured and culminated in "Ticket to Ride" which is a brutal self evaluation of his own faults and how he drives his loved ones away from him. You don't write a song like "Ticket to Ride" because you have no idea what it's like for your lover to get fed up with your moodiness and leave you. John was much more self aware than he's given credit for. This continued onward, them thinking they've reached the summit only to find there's a new height to climb. John said something to the effect of "I saw the top of the mountain" as a result of the first Shea concert. (They would do a second Shea concert in 1966.) That was when he realized that The Beatles were it and that they were not vacating the number one spot any time soon. What else was there to strive for?
And I think after that, a lot of John's emotional development kind of...stopped. Or was held up. Or slowed down to a snail's pace, whichever you prefer. The LSD had a hand in this, tripping constantly takes a lot out of you. Yesterday played its part, John emotionally retreated out of fear of losing Paul (which of course ensured that he lost Paul forever). Success becomes your enemy sometimes; John had so much success that he no longer had to face adversity, no longer had to grow because everything he wanted was on tap. As someone somewhere said, fame ruined the Beatles in this way.
That's the crux of it, I think. He just stopped maturing. It was childish the way he slagged off Paul -- not just Paul but other people as well. Sean said that John spent the rest of his life apologizing to everyone he ran into because of Lennon Remembers, which implies he burned a lot of bridges with that one. John had a habit of doing that and his fame as a Beatle enabled him to do it without consequences. No one was willing to stand up to him so he didn't get to learn a pattern of "don't do this or else this will happen." He was mentally damaged from his drug usage and I also wonder if he had a genuine learning disability of some kind because he simply could not make the connection between cause/effect: "If I do X then Y might happen so I shouldn't do X." His mother was not a drug user like John but she exhibited many of the same behaviors he did. Namely the "inability to visualize consequences" thing.
John did care about Paul, especially when it was starting out. I think the love was pure then because his mental aesthetic of who and what Paul was had not yet been distorted. John knew who Paul was, he knew who John Lennon was, they were in love and everything was possible.
But then John's untreated mental illness begins to take its toll, he's self medicating with drugs which does more harm than good, his mental aesthetic of Paul distorts more and more because Paul will not let him in. The media did this to John too, all of them reporting on how cool Paul was and how amazing Yesterday is and John is shitting himself internally because he can feel the split already forming between them musically. John is unable to stop himself from manipulating Paul in response, which is a bad move because Paul is the ultimate contrarian and bolts in response. Which sends John into deeper panic etc. And oh yes, the entire world is watching them while this happens and nitpicking their every move. We live in the age of social media, we know what this is like.
Over time that love became mixed in with anger and resentment. John could not tell fantasy from reality. He did what he always does and he imagined something, tricked himself into believing it, and then got mad about something that didn't exist. If he did reach out to Paul then Paul responded badly, which understandably devastated John's feelings.
When you show someone your real feelings and they dismiss you or trivialize your vulnerability because they want to Win At Being Right...your relationship crumbles with that person. A common bug in Paul's relationships is that he needs to Win At Being Right even at the expense of people loving him. We don't know this for sure but I'm convinced he did this to John plenty of times. Frankly, a relationship cannot survive that behavior. Lack of mutual respect kills marriages all the time. I absolutely believe that Paul disrespected John and trivialized his feelings (even if by accident) and that this caused John to become bitter over time since Paul took him for granted. Who wouldn't become bitter under those circumstances?
This is how they got into the "fuck you/no, please, fuck you/no no no fuck YOU/I absolutely insist, you must go fuck yourself" cycle. Which John really just expanded on during the 1970s with his bitching about Paul, it was just another level of the "fuck you bitch" cycle that started between them with Yesterday. And John's immaturity and brain damage from drug usage and his inability to understand consequences meant that he didn't fully comprehend what he was doing. He didn't want to think that Paul was vulnerable because Paul had rejected John's vulnerability. He didn't want to imagine he was hurting Paul deeply because Paul had hurt him deeply. He wanted revenge on Paul more than he wanted to keep his relationship with Paul because he thought Paul wouldn't be too damaged by it. I think John had gotten comfortable with the idea that no matter what he threw at Paul, Paul would not only survive it but that he'd rub John's face in it. I don't think John ever considered the idea that he could actually succeed in what he was doing, he never imagined that he would actually win the argument and that he would damage Paul's image and John's relationship with Paul forever. That sense of "I'll lose no matter what" enabled him to act out however he wanted because it wasn't like any of it would matter anyway, right? Paul can survive anything. He's invincible.
Right?
John did love Paul, I believe that. I think he loved Paul deeply and sincerely. I think if he actually understood what Paul was thinking and feeling then John would have changed tactics immediately or even stopped what he was doing. But John's drug usage, years of slights and disrespect from Paul, being unable to visualize consequences, and immaturity caused him to act out in a childish way. He stopped listening to Paul and started listening to his resentments and grudges. Lashing out at Paul was the only outlet he had and John didn't know how to do anything else. He had no incentive to learn otherwise and grow up, deal with Paul on adult terms.
Funnily enough I think it's actually losing George that finally set something into motion inside John. Like, George cut John off, an extremely big deal. In my neck of the woods its called "severing" and its probably the most difficult thing you can possibly do with any sort of relationship. George ignored John; he cut John out of his autobiography; he stopped talking to John; he did not mention him in public. He knew this was the most brutal punishment he could devise for John Lennon and it worked. John wrote "lost" by George's name in the word association game. John went too far bitching about Bob Dylan and not apologizing for hanging George out to dry. George had enough and did the right thing. He severed his relationship with John because John was toxic and dragged George down. Of all the people in John's life, George is the one who willingly served consequences to John when he was surrounded by enablers and errand boys.
That, more than anything, seems to be what set John on the back foot. I sincerely believe that George cutting him off forced John to do some introspection and that is part of what he was doing in the Dakota after Sean was born. Asking himself what he did to make George cut him off; and then John slowly started to grow and mature again. Because you see, George provided what Paul couldn't: he gave John adversity to meet, which forced John to grow as a person. And so we got the song "Woman" which is not just about the women in John's life but is also a letter to all the people he hurt with his thoughtlessness and immaturity, where he finally starts taking responsibility for his actions:
I can hardly express, My mixed emotion at my thoughtlessness, After all I'm forever in your debt,
I will try to express, My inner feelings and thankfulness, For showing me the meaning of success,
hold me close to your heart, However distant don't keep us apart, After all it is written in the stars,
please let me explain, I never meant to cause you sorrow or pain, So let me tell you again and again and again,
It's on par with "Ticket to Ride" and "I Know, I Know" in John showing introspection and discussing his own flaws. Something that he notably was not doing during his peak "fuck you Paul" era.
John loved Paul but also resented him due to their circumstances. He wanted to hurt Paul but didn't think he could actually do so because his mental aesthetic of Paul was so viciously distorted. He dehumanized Paul by putting him on a pedestal, made him an object John could degrade at a moment's notice to make himself feel better. You can do that to objects without consequences; when you do it to people, you get pushback.
Losing George and Paul keeping him at a distance for years is what made John finally realize that he had hurt them and that he could hurt them to the point that he would never see them again. It took years of self examination for John to come to this realization which indicates how disordered and muddy his thinking was.

I'm still here ngl..

Listen, I see this and feel so much happiness. Jimin dancing, showing who he is, showing the versatility of his style and giving us just a glimpse into the extensive, vast range of his talent.
There's been some revisionism happening regarding BTS that's ratcheted up in the last three years or so. I can't be the only person who's noticed it. People more forcefully asserting things about the members that are just plain absurd, like saying this or that member isn't that talented, or that xyz member has this massive character failing that's only just apparent now for some reason, or that things they've said and done aren't actually the case. After FACE, I noticed people saying shit like Jimin can't sing and can't dance...
That reminds me, I went to a cup-sleeve event in June for another group and someone told me to my face Jimin can't dance and I almost uppercut that bitch. It ticked me off but I didn't actually assault her. What I did instead was ask her to explain what she meant, told her I disagreed, and showed her why by playing Jimin's Black Swan solo DP. She took back her initial claim and said she'd just been in a k-pop group online and all those people were saying is how none of the BTS members are that talented especially Jimin who apparently can't sing to save his life and whatever dancing he can do is limited to a few moves from 6 years ago.
Plain insanity.
Jimin, out of the kindness of his sweet, magnanimous heart, is giving the amnesia patients a crash course in who he is. He's reminding people he is Park Jimin of BTS. The dancer who joined a nearly bankrupt agency, had the shortest training period in that agency's history, and with the least resources, and debuted as the main dancer and lead singer of what is now the biggest group in the world. The man who critics from all over the world laud as a virtuoso, in voice, dance, and performance. His voice has brought men to their knees, calmed babies, enchanted concert halls, made stadiums full of people cry out in pure joy. There's nobody alive or dead like Park Jimin, and the fact we all get to exist in the same time as him is a blessing too many people (for my liking) take for granted.
ThisIsJimin is a gift I'm thankful to Jimin for giving us again.
*
Anyway, I was watching that clip again with a friend and she pointed out how cool the dance practice room was. Noted how it's a massive improvement from the old BigHit halls that had mold growing on the walls and water dripping on live wires in the back. It's taken years, hard work by the members, good business sense from BigHit/HYBE, and a lot of my own hard-earned money as well as the resources (time, money, otherwise) from ARMYs over the years to get to this point - and I just want to say, speaking for myself, even though I still see massive room for improvement, I feel very happy with the state of things.
HYBE is cultivating a solid roster of talent built on BTS's hard work. The world-class facilities in the building is the first good sign, as well as the talent now being fostered there. I love the quality of the army of dancers Jimin had access to for his SMF Pt2 performances, I love that NewJeans is doing so well that Riot Games sought them to feature on their new World's anthem, I love that a whole new generation of incredible groups are growing in the environment created by BTS's own trials and success.
BOYNEXTDOOR is a group that continues to have my attention because all six boys are just that good. They posted their dance practice for Crying today (my favourite song from a rookie group in 2023), and I noticed they did it in a similar dark coloured dance practice room Jimin filmed his #ThisIsJimin choreo in. And that really just put a very silly smile on my face for a reason I can't pinpoint yet.

Maybe it's aftereffects from the Jimin Effect after streaming his reel as hard as I'm streaming Indigo lately.
I see the asks you send, about Golden, JK in general, jokers, this or that thing happening in fandom, and I'll get to them at some point but I don't want to talk about them right now. Because I'm still stuck on Jimin showcasing himself in that air conditioned, world class dance practice room that's only possible because of his hard work, tenacity, talent, and love for his group.
I'm still stuck on Jimin and legit cannot move on. He's such a beast. Such a calculating, proud, stubborn, and kind beast of a man.
I'm not sure what's going on with me.
We're in Jimtober so maybe his juju is just extra strong and I can't escape his grip no matter what I try. Anyway, it's a good idea to stream FACE, allow yourself to re-experience his album, check out his other solos as well (played Christmas Love over the weekend and realized it sounds even better on low frequency speakers), and eat a lot of spicy food followed by warm/hot drinks because Jimin is curious about such things (and it really does work).

hi shazzz, i hope u are doing well!!
i have a question to you... why do u think yoongi is dating el captxin? i heard some things, but one of them is that el captxin said he only likes girls on his ig once, when rumours about them were loud
No he didn't say that. And no he didn't say being shipped with Suga makes him uncomfortable. It's people making shit up again like always.
Okay guys. I promised. Guess its time. I will try to gather as much as I can. Can't promise I'll get everything thou 🤭 but I'll try 😁
Real name: Jang Yi-Jeong. Producer name: also on his IG elxcapitxn. But since I cannot spell that from memory I shall be calling him el captain or the captain 😁😁😁 let's get into it.
They do not have a ship name as far as I know so my friends and i go back and forth between Yingi and capitungi 🤷🏽‍♀️
First and most importantly and most suspicious is one important question we have to answer. Who are 2 of Suga's favourite members? That's right; Jimin and Jhope. And this here is the reason why we know Suga has a type 😏 Because the captain is basically Jhope and Jimin, combined. U don't believe me?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Say whaaaaaaaaaaat?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Say what whaaaaaaat????
I'm not saying he's identical to Hopemin. I'm just saying the captain looks like them. Like alot. These 2 photos especially remind me of Jimin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this one, well, this one is basically if Jihope had a baby
Tumblr media
Yeah... I know. Let's just let that sink in for a second. Can someone check on JK real quick, and ask how he feels about this? Coz its nuts! Suga really said if it can't have them I'm gonna have the next best thing 🤭🤭🤭
Mkay.... now that the most sus thing has been established, let's get into the dots people have been connecting. Apart from their incredible chemistry, of course.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, they've known eo for 6 years
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is el captain in 2016 if anyone is curious how he looked like.
It's the way Suga looks at the captain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The documentary, the dinner scene, they were kind of in their own world
Tumblr media
It's the way the captain looks at Suga too
Tumblr media
It's Suga's reaction when the captain yelled "Min yoongi I love you!"
That was way too cute 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Them at the beach in Thailand together when Suga was on tour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yoonminers tried to say the person with stripped shorts was Jimin but nah. The guy in all black is the captain.
Speaking of holidays. I don't recall exactly why but at the time people had reasons to believe Suga was here too and that he was most prolly the one who took the pic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's the way the captain's IG is full of Suga. 🥰 He even posted this himself.
Tumblr media
Even if its mostly music. There's alot of Suga on his account. 🤭🤭
Speaking of IG posts, out of all Jimin posts, this is the only post the captain has liked
Tumblr media
Your bias is showing captain!!!! 🤭🤭🤭
@magicshop-pjm1 pointed out something quite funny which is; el captain didn't like the Yoonmin Suchwita one, didn't like this photo from the concert he was at which were posted around the same time as the one above
Tumblr media
Generally just hasn't liked any other Yoonmin posts either which, you know... I'm just putting that out there for no reason whatsoever...
Tumblr media
Basically they spend ALOT of time together. Like alot, alot. Especially during Dday.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They spent days and nights together working on the album. Supportive bf captain was also behind the scenes when Suga was at Jimmy Fallon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If u ask me that seems unnecessary unless they are really close. Clearly what they got isn't limited to the studio.
Here's a thread about them from 2016 till now.
In conclusion: ig we now know who was in this room

I got permission to expand on this idea, so I'm gunna share my thoughts and what I came up with regarding this cool idea. I got the concept of this from the OP of the previous post, @coveredinsoot , so credits goes to them. I used he/him for the Yan, and they/them for the Darling so all readers can enjoy. I haven't written something like this in ages. Forgive me.
TW: Yandere themes(obv), mentions of drug use(non consentual), minor mentions of sexual themes, not proofread very well I wrote this first thing in the morning. I hadn't even gotten out of bed lmao
-A recap of my tags in the previous post, my idea followed the premise of a yan whose darling is an employee working under the record label/idol agency(whichever one you prefer) he is signed onto. They could have a position working somewhat in the same sphere as their Yan. My first thought was maybe a touring staff, but I felt specifically that they could be a photographer who was hired solely to work under Yans label.
-They do the shooting for promos, they participate in the creation of music videos, go on tours to get photos at concerts, etc. They work alongside Yan, but rarely interact outside of the professional setting. Darling has a job they have to do, and getting personal with the artist they're assigned to work under is a risky thing, so they choose to keep their casual interactions to a minimal to avoid scandals.
-While Darling is putting their attention all into their career, Yan is forced to get his unrequited feelings out via music. Filling notebooks after notebooks with sickingly sweet words, turning them into lyrics that get pumped out to fans, who all imagine themselves as the reciever of such romantic tales of woe.
-Yan constantly sneaks details about his Darling into his music, from mentioning small physical traits on their body like the color of their hair and eyes, to maybe even scars and birthmarks no one would or should know unless they've seen them partially or fully naked. They would constantly bring up traits revolving around the Darlings personality most of the time, but no matter how many details they place in their songs, it just seems to go over Darlings head
-Yan constantly asks Darling what their thoughts are on his new music, hoping to one day see their eyes light up and realize they were the center of all his music and finally return his feelings, but Darling only ever gives vague compliments to him, telling him his music is great but really never delves to deep into the lyrics or sound.
-Yan finally comes to terms, after watching over his Darling for months, maybe even years, the Darling just never gives his music an actual proper chance, and that's why they never pick up on all the lyrics that would eerily describe them to a T. Yan decides to be a bit more risky, and take his lovey dovey songs into more darker territory.
-Its an obvious switch. Going from themed albums that would have him in more colorful attire and poppy beats, to more darker fashion and seductive tones. Clearly the Cloud 9, cutesy romance didn't do the trick, so maybe he could lure his Darling in with a more mature persona.
-Lyrics become much more sexual in nature, singing of long nights underneath the covers, decorating each others skin in marks, all the things that gets the crowds riled up. He isn't afraid to drop hints/details about kinks he picked up that his Darling seemed to be interested in(well at least that's what Darlings search history says).
-His fame skyrockets after the new change, and he sees his Darling has started to pick up a bit of an interest in his music(fucking finally). They notice a little bit of how Yan seems to keep a certain image of someone within his lyrics. Mentions of the same hair color(and if Darlings one to dye their hair, will even mention the change in hair color in the song(s), same eye color, same attributes both physically and personality wise. But despite that, Darling still hadn't gotten deep enough into the music to put the puzzle pieces together. Though they did make a joke about how much they related to this mystery person from the small amount of details they picked up.
-Yan definitely had to bite his tongue and hold his hands behind his back to keep from exploding after hearing that. So damn close, his Darling is right fucking there, the density this Darling had was driving Yan up the wall, but he'd be lying if he said he didn't find a little excitement in it. At this point he done already turned it into a game.
-The music just gets darker from there, and while the crowds of unwavering loyal fans eat up each word like its their last meal, Darling is finally becoming suspicious. Not just from the odd lyrics Yan has been singing, but also behaviors being exhibited behind the curtains. Around the first change in sound, when Yan took his music down a darker route, Yan had begun being more pushy with spending more time with his Darling. Following them around like a lost puppy between photoshoots. Trying his damnest to get Darling to hang out with him outside of work. Throwing parties just in an attempt to get Darling out of their professional persona around him. Constantly buying them things, showing up out of no where to chat with them, it was overwhelming.
-It was only getting worse, especially since Yan was beginning to slip up and say things about Darling that he shouldn't know. Afterall, Darling never told him such things. Coupled that with the fact that his lyrics in his new album sing of kidnapping and basements and a whole bunch of stuff that aren't at all romantic anymore, Darling is getting wary. They can't seem to go anywhere without this nagging feeling they weren't alone and something was wrong. They even begin looking into changing to a different label or becoming an independent photographer just to get away from overwhelming nature of their Yan.
-And Yan picks up on it. He realizes he isn't winning them over like this anymore, and he's now down to his last resort. He's always been a tad sadistic, even in the beginning he had a bit of joy daydreaming about kidnapping Darling and having them caged in his awfully large mansion, only having Darling ever see and hear from him. He's spent many hours in bed imagining ways to condition and brainwash Darling into relying on him, maybe even getting them so reliant on Yan that he'd be able to have them follow him once again on tours just so they could always be together every waking moment of their lives.
-But to get to that point, he was going to have to start at step 1.
1. Throw a party. At this point they had become common, as this was something he used in the past to get Darling to come out and spend time with him. He'd use the same excuse he's used in the past. He wants his favorite photographer to come and take amazing photos of the party so he can put them on his Instagram for bragging rights.
2. Get them chilled out. Darling never drinks alcohol at these parties. They have an expensive camera they need to protect, and taking decent camera shots require a steady hand. So Yan will make his own concoction for Darling. Darling only said they won't drink alcohol, they never mentioned anything else...
3. Take them out of the crowd and into a more quiet... secluded area of the house. They were never big on parties, its so easy to get overwhelmed, and now they're drowzy and stumbling over themselves and their words. Can't even stand up let alone walk. They clearly need some rest. Luckily Yan has everything they need to keep them comfortable. Now that they've finally made it home they can rest easy on their new bed while Yan finishes up closing down the party for the night.
4. Now a new life can be started. One much more suited to Yans taste. A life his amazing music has sung tales of since the day Yan fell in love...

i don't think it's possible for me to put into words how surreal it is to see all fifteen of them at the same venue to celebrate ryeowook and ari's marriage
it's almost been 20 years since debut. probably even longer for some of them due to how much time they spent together as trainees.
ryeowook somehow managed to get all of them, even the ones that are the most difficult to find, under one roof.
hangeng flew over from china for this. he's a husband and a dad now, and he hasn't worked in korea for over a decade. based on his public activities, he probably sees henry the most these days thanks to street dance of china.
kangin's been officially out of suju for 5-6 years now. i still remember the day he dropped the announcement as ot9 were about to get on a plane for a concert. yet zhoumi and him went camping this past year, and he's still their rock of embarrassing dad humor after all these years. the members sometimes rep his new clothing brand demebeta.
kibum has been missing in action for a looong time. he did a youtube video with heechul once as a public catch up of sorts and then continued to lie in the woodwork, on brand for the massive introvert that he is.
sungmin has bravely gone off to conquer trot by himself after his whole wedding fiasco from years ago. i'm glad that he's seemed to have made his peace with it and has started forging a new path, yet i'm still livid that he had to to begin with. perpetually the official yet unofficial member, he still showed up for eunhyuk's dad's funeral and he came for ryeowook's wedding.
these 15 guys have so much history. so many fights and large good/bad life events under their belt. they've made it through all of this, and that's how they're able to punch under the belt and make jokes about what used to be a painful time. i don't expect outsiders to understand their sense of humor with each other, because they're not the intended audience.
i guess what i'm trying to say is i'm glad they were able to come together. suju will always be 15, even if the company or other elf say otherwise. they will always be a cohort of 15 brothers.

[ GawinKrist ] Ed Sheeran's "Photograph" Cover
Hi! I felt like waxing poetic about Gawin and Krist for a bit because I love them and I'm proud of them. <3
Even though GawinKrist aren't working together now, I definitely think they will again someday. For sure on music. They've both said they want to do a concert together one day, and they were starting to amass quite a loyal following while BMF was airing, so they'll always have an enthusiastic audience.
Just. Man. Listen to them harmonize. See how much they enjoy singing together. It's lovely to me that they'll always have music to connect them professionally, even apart from their offscreen friendship. :')
Early on in promotion for Be My Favorite, Krist explained to fans that he and Gawin had discussed how to market the series in a way that would be comfortable for both of them, especially for Gawin. GMMTV's current marketing leans very, very hard on their actors posting relentlessly to social media to the point that a lot of them are arguably more influencer than actor, and while it's been enormously effective and lucrative for GMMTV, it doesn't leave much leeway for talents like Gawin who aren't especially outgoing or loud online.
No hearing person can deny Gawin's gift for singing. He has a gorgeous voice, and he puts so much emotion into what he sings, there's a reason why a lot of people see him as a singer first. Bewilderingly, though, GMMTV just doesn't seem to know what to do with him. And some of that is on Gawin, sure. He said at his birthday event in August that he knew he'd been holding back in the past and that he wanted people to know him more from then on, but this industry is rough, and I think he's still figuring out how to navigate everything in a way that isn't overwhelming to him.
When I spoke to Gawin at the BMF finale event back in August, he exuded this absolute wave of kindness, sincerity, and humility. Like. He was just so incredibly sweet while I told him how proud I was of him and how well he did in the series. And when he said to me, "I'm just grateful you all came," I thought, He has no idea how loved he is. (Probably because DBK and Not Me became popular during lockdown and they weren't able to hold the Polca/PoddGawin event until two years later, and he's never had a permanent partner, so he's been in an odd sort of limbo all this time.)
Pisaeng was Gawin's first starring role, and his first time marketing a series as a lead. You can tell from all the promotional materials that Krist wanted this to go smoothly for him. At that same finale event, Krist broke down crying because he'd been carrying the stress of thinking that the torment he'd been through would affect Gawin's experience, too. But on the contrary, I think Krist was the best thing that's ever happened to Gawin's career.
I've heard stories from people behind the scenes that Krist was always extremely attentive to Gawin. He explained how to do little things that were intuitive to him as a veteran in the industry, and he made sure Gawin understood. He talked him through rough spots during and after filming. In interviews, he led discussions and tried to keep things on point. And whenever Gawin automatically shrank back from the spotlight, Krist gently steered him back to it. At their MUSICON performance in July (THE FIRST TIME GAWIN EVER PERFORMED LIVE, GMMTV MAY WE SPEAK PRIVATELY), Krist literally pulled Gawin to the front of the stage because he noticed Gawin hiding in the back. And at those concerts, Krist was the most senior there, so he was MC, performer, and Leader of the Nongs, but he never let his self-assigned duties as Gawin's partner falter. Over and over, event after event, Gawin looked happier and happier, and Krist looked prouder and prouder of him.
I think Gawin and Krist worked so well together because Krist saw the unappreciated jewel Gawin is and met him exactly where he was to bring him into the spotlight. He coaxed Gawin into shining brighter. Built his confidence until he could stand in the spotlight like he deserved to be there. The difference between that first MUSICON performance and his perfomance at Krist's solo concert is staggering.
And at Krist's solo concert, before their final appearance together as GawinKrist, Krist told the audience how proud he was. How talented Gawin is, and how he deserves a chance to be extraordinary. There's a reason why they call each other their safe zone, and I honestly believe no one wants to see Gawin thrive in this industry and behind the scenes more than Krist. He called him his favorite nong, and Krist is famously indulgent and lovely with all his nongs.
When Gawin was announced to replace Mike in Be My Favorite, I was over the moon. I loved him in DBK and Not Me and even his bit role in Enchanté. And I knew he and Krist would get along. Gawin's temperament is similar enough to Singto's, and Krist just generally gets along with everyone he works with, and they have that deep love of music in common.
Even though they had to put up with a lot (hateful people in general, fans who refused to watch Krist in a series with anyone but Singto, fans who refused to watch Gawin in a series with anyone but Podd or First, fans who tormented Krist, fans who tormented Gawin, expectations, pressure, stress, etc.), they handled all of it with incredible grace, and they made my favorite series on top of it. <3
And when it was time to end their partnership, they did that gracefully, too.
It's possible that Krist knew for a long time that Singto was considering coming back to GMMTV. I think Gawin knew, too, since he and Singto hang out. And of course GMMTV probably knew. It would explain why the company never put much energy into promoting the series or GawinKrist as a partnership.
But the fact that a member of the Trinity had a separate semi-official partner for any amount of time is bananas if you think about it. Hasn't happened to Singto, Off, Gun, Tay, or Newwiee. But because Singto turned down Be My Favorite (likely because he'd already informed GMMTV he was leaving) and took some time away, Gawin ended up with this incredible opportunity to star in a high quality series that was intended for KristSingto. That's so fucking cool! He's the only person to have ever partnered with a member of the Trinity! That's fucking wild??? We don't talk enough about how cool and wild that is. Good for Gawin!
And good for Singto!
I'm glad Singto took time outside GMMTV to explore opportunities he might not have gotten otherwise. I know he did it because he was thinking about studying abroad for years, and he kind of waffled around figuring out what to do once he was out, but man, sometimes you need to do that. I'm glad he had time with his dad. I'm glad he had a house built for himself and his dad. I'm glad he got to spend time with his friends (I mean, sort of, he's a weird cave-dwelling lion like Gawin, so apparently he doesn't actually go out much). Most importantly, Singto got to have privacy with Krist. And man, I think they needed it, but they also deserved it. The two of them have been in this industry for so long, and most of us have seen what happens to people when they monetize their friendship, relationship, family, etc. "KristSingto" is a brand, but Krist and Singto are close friends who have managed, against all odds, to find a way to preserve their bond and promote themselves as a brand without buckling under the strain.
I'm so glad the two of them had time to themselves. I think it saved them as people and preserved what's beautiful about their partnership.
GMMTV wouldn't let Krist work on BL with anyone but Singto until Singto literally left GMMTV, and Krist himself used to say he didn't want to work with anyone but Singto because he was afraid working with someone else would change their chemistry. I hope working with Gawin showed him that nothing could do that. He'll always, always have his chemistry with Singto. Maybe it'll evolve, maybe it'll mature, but it'll always be there. And if Singto hadn't left, Krist might never have gotten the opportunity to find that out. I think they'll be stronger now because of it.
Watching Be My Favorite was transcendental for me, and seeing GawinKrist work together was wonderful. They started as relative strangers who might've said hello to each other in the hallway at work, and now they're each other's safe zone. It seems fitting that they starred in a series about time travel and multiple timelines, because if Gawin hadn't been cast, if Krist had never worked with Gawin, think of all they could have missed out on. The friendship, the opportunities, the growth, the pride, and the joy.
And the music.
I sincerely, profoundly believe they'll work together again if they want to, and I'll be cheering them on if they do. <3

OK. Right. I've sorted my panel photos, which I'll start posting tomorrow (I won't bombard you with them all at once!), so I can get my thoughts straight about yesterday. This is going to be long; sorry! I'll divide it into two parts so that those who want to skip my wittering and just see the pics can.
I hadn't actually thought I'd ever go to a con again; my last one had been back in 2009 and they've got a hell of a lot bigger since then, which sort of puts me off as I don’t really like crowds, and living as I do right down on the south coast they're usually too far away. However, when back at the end of January an ad popped up out of the blue on my Facebook feed informing me that Paul would be appearing at Portsmouth Comic Con (less than ten miles from me) my heart skipped a beat and I started wondering whether I'd be able to go. Of course, there was nothing stopping me but I wasn't keen to go on my own, and I knew my DW-and-anything-else-related-to-scifi-fantasy-etc-hating sister would never agree.
When not long later I saw Sylvester was going to be there as well I mentioned it to my friend P (with whom I’ve attended cons in the past), lamenting that I had no one to go with and not really expecting her to suggest that she try to come down from Manchester so we could go together but to my surprise she did and so the tickets were duly booked. Fast forward to about three weeks ago, unfortunately, and things started to go - literally in this case - off the rails thanks to a driver's strike and then engineering work that meant no trains into Portsmouth for the 11th and 12th and P very reluctantly having to drop out because she wouldn't be able to get down here and back in time for work on Monday. Still wanting to go but not really wanting to do it alone I had no choice but to ask sis to come with me, which she very gamely did and I owe her. Big Time. It’s really not her thing and I know she didn't enjoy it at all. She works in town and made me stand on the outside in the queue in case she saw anyone she knew!
I had been worried about how I was going to react as I do suffer from anxiety and I've not been amongst crowds since before Covid, but much to my surprise I was completely relaxed, even when talking to the guests; I'm obviously long past my 'OMG it's Paul!' phase (thank goodness!) and instead it was a case of 'Oh, yeah, there he is, and Sylv and Sophie (a later addition, and one I'd been hoping for) too.' I don't know whether it's because they're so familiar or I just got used to actors popping in when I worked in a shop near a theatre, but it was easy and I'm so glad! The reflexology session I had in Thursday might have helped keep me calm, too; if you’re feeling tense I recommend it!
I had only previously visited the Guildhall for concerts (sis knows it better as she's had to do presentations to the city council in the past) so it was rather odd to be in there during the day. I have to say that I think they could have put aside more room for the guests as it was difficult to work out who was queuing to see who (ho ho). It was very warm and the setup also made taking photos a bit awkward with people having to dance round each other a bit. We went to see Paul first (of course), and when he clocked me in my NotD cosplay he leaned back, smiled and announced 'It's like lookin' in a mirror!' I honestly can't remember exactly what I said in response to that! Probably nothing that coherent! He asked if I'd made it myself, which gave me a neat opportunity to present the gift I'd made for him: an Eighth Doctor bear and Mr Bush bear.
I think i've wanted to make bears for Paul ever since I put together the first one nearly three years ago, but I never thought I'd get a chance so when I knew I'd be going to the con I started planning. I was originally just going to do the Doctor, and make a Seven bear for Sylvester, but as they were coming to Portsmouth I decided to do Bush as well since I can’t imagine Paul gets a lot of Hornblower-related gifts. Of course, when it was confirmed that Sophie would be there I had to make an Ace bear too and here they all are before I packed them up yesterday morning, sitting on the bags i'd also run up to put them in (not pictured, my terrible embroidery name tags to help me tell who was who):
Tumblr media
I'll do some more detailed posts so you can see them properly another day, but I was so pleased with they way they turned out that it was really hard to give them up! At least I knew they'd be going to good homes!
When I gave Paul the bag he just looked at me in surprise and went 'Is that for me? Can I open it now?' and there was a smile on his face as soon as he saw what was inside. 'That's my career! Doctor Who and Hornblower!' He absolutely loved them, couldn't believe I'd made them and told me 'I have a room where I keep all the gifts I've been given, and these are going to take pride of place.' I couldn't wish for more than that! Well, maybe a photo of him with them but it was busy and I didn't like to ask and possibly hold things up. I hope he's found the alternative Dark Eyes outfit that I added for Eight bear as I had some fabric leftover from my jacket; the sonic for that one took a bit of ingenuity!
He asked about my costume again while we were getting into position (for want of a better term) for a photo and commented that so many people are paying someone to make their cosplays now and spending a hundreds of pounds, something I'd guess he finds quite astonishing given the incredulous look on his face when he said it. I could be wrong, but I got the impression that he likes to see what different fans have come up with; there are a lot of people who seem to be patronising Steven Ricks since Paul got his remade costume last year, which I can understand because the man is a brilliant tailor, but sometimes it must be a bit like seeing clones.
Jen took the photo and we were about to leave it there but then this strangely confident person I found inside me asked Paul a question:
‘Can I be cheeky?’
‘Sure.’
‘Can I give you a hug?’
‘Of course!’
Well, if you don’t ask, you don’t get! (says the woman who hates asking for things in shops) He gives very good hugs. 🥰
I did manage to let him go (it wasn’t easy!) and he thanked me again for the bears before we moved on to see Sophie, which involved going round to join another queue in the same small space. Confusing? Yep!
I don't know who here has met Sophie Aldred but you should because she is so, so lovely. Ace has always been one of my favourite companions and I was so pleased when I saw she would be coming. I'd already started an Ace bear with the intention of giving it to Sylvester with his, but of course that got changed and Sophie was smitten. She looked really closely at it, remarking on the little details - 'Oh, it's even got the plait. And a rucksack and baseball bat!' - and sat it proudly on the corner of her table, where I assume it stayed for some of the day. Apparently it's the best Ace bear she's ever seen - you can't get a better accolade than that! (My head was swelling somewhat by this point, by the way. I don't like to blow my own trumpet but I don't often get so many compliments, and never in such a short space of time, so i hope you can forgive me for including them.)
Last but not least, of course, there was Sylvester, which meant another queue in the same space, which was just daft as because their tables were next to each other you didn't know whether people were waiting for him or for Paul. I'm sure that could have been organised much better than it was. In the same section there were also two chaps who had somethng to do with Star Wars who weren't getting much attention at all which was a bit awkward. They haven't gone back today and I can't blame really them.
I've wanted to meet Sylv for years and he didn’t disappoint. He liked the fabric the bag was made from because its starry night pattern was similar to his waistcoat, which admittedly was why i bought it in the first place. When he got it open and saw what was inside he said 'Oh! I'm a little bear! That’s lovely!’ and when I said I'd made one for Sophie too leaned round trying to see it on Sophie's table. I half wish I'd made a set of both for each of them now but that might have been overkill, and I would have needed a rucksack of my own to transport them all; my bag was full to bursting as it was. Maybe if I see them again I’ll give Sophie a Doctor bear and Sylvester an Ace. As it stands I am so, so pleased that all three of them liked something I'd made so much, and Sylvester and Sophie were both also taken with the cartoons of the Seventh Doctor and Ace that I asked them to sign.
Phew! If you've reached the end of this, well done! I know I have tendency to ramble on and I commend your stamina! I'll put the photos in a separate post but I was one happy camper, especially as just afterwards i got another compliment on my costume and was asked to pose in the TARDIS! We didn't stay the whole day as it was hot, I'd pretty much seen what I wanted to (the Doctor Who 'exhibition' was just a few monster replicas, most of which weren't that good, unlike the really impressive experience they had last year for the 60th and which I would have loved to see. And there were no daleks! My ambition to hug a dalek sadly remains unfulfilled *sniff*) sis had developed a headache, but I'm very glad I went. 😀

Note
This is not about antis, exactly, but there's definitely a similar vibe in the sentiments and it annoys me and I want to complain, so.
Apparently there's a program in my country that schools can sign up into that offers free "art experiences" to 8th graders (so about 14-year-olds). Looking at the program's website quickly, it seems to include plays, music concerts, probably art museum tours, I don't know what all. But like, either way, any of the stuff that the program offers is vetted beforehand to make sure it's suitable, and worksheets created for the kids to do before and after the show to try and get them to engage with art and understand what it makes them feel and whatever, and the kids get to rate whatever art thing it was they got to go to, afterwards.
Now, apparently, one of the things this program has arranged tickets for is some theater's current production of a comedic play written in the 19th century by one of the more famous playwrights/authors of my country's history (whose work, incidentally, was in his own time frequently under fire for its immoral and/or otherwise inappropriate depictions of whatever). I have never seen or read this particular play, so I can't tell you much about the plot or what the content of the text itself would be, beyond that it's a comedy that probably includes at least one character making a fool of himself, since that tends to be typical for the author's work afaik.
Anyway, to get to the point, the specific production that was on the program included, apparently, a scene in which, for comedic reasons, the main character's pants were pulled down enough for his bare ass to be visible, and something was written across his buttocks. And some other scenes which maybe, at least in the eyes of some in the audience, could be considered possibly somewhat sexually suggestive, though, again, I have not seen the particular production so I can't weigh in on whether they really are or not. Either way, even at worst, it's... come on, the school groups that was shown to were kids of about 14 years old, if they've never seen anything more sexually suggestive than that in movies or tv or somewhere, I'm honestly very surprised. In any case, the play contains no depictions of actual sex. And again, the play was checked by professionals and deemed to be appropriate for the program's art experience list.
Anyway, apparently the principal of some Christian school wrote an opinion piece in some news paper about oh how terrible and unnecessary sexualized and kids should not be exposed to that and so on and so forth. Aaaaand since then, the theater's social medias have been swamped with harrassing comments and, *sigh*, people accusing various people working on the production of pedophilia. To the point that the theater has had to switch off commenting altogether on many of their posts and made a policy of not answering phone calls from unknown comments anymore, because the shitstorm just got to that point.
And I just. literally WHY THE FUCK are people like this?? like. how do you even get from "theater play includes a scene where an actor's bare behind is visible and maybe a few other things with a slight sexual tone happen" to "people working for this theater are pedophiles and putting children in danger". Just. geez. it's so fucking stupid. Also I find it ironic that this was a work from the 19th century, that in its own time shocked people and was deemed immoral, and... what do you know, a modern rendition of the play also shocks people and gets deemed as immoral, apparently.
ugh that’s so shitty. time is a flat circle

An interview with Bojan and Štras, originally published on the BTC City website on 13.10.2021. This is part of our series about Bojan and Štras, to promote the upcoming charity concert they will perform at together.
Bojan Cvjetićanin and Gregor Strasbergar: "Next concert will be the same - but even better this time!"
Before their second joint concert in the 1on1 cycle on October 15th, we talked to the frontmen of the bands Joker Out and MRFY - new stars on the Slovenian music scene.
Tumblr media
Bojan and Gregor represent the younger, very unrestrained musical generation that is difficult to "put into boxes" based on their music genre. And despite being friends, they don't usually perform together. But that changed when they met on the SiTi Theatre stage in a 1on1 "musical dialogue". Their concert in September was sold out. But they already have another 1on1 concert coming up on October 15th, so we caught up with them before their new performance and asked them about their impressions from this one, as well as other performances they're still planning.
You will repeat the concert, which was pretty successful, on October 15th. How does what you're doing here differ from what you usually do and why is it easier - or harder?
Bojan: Me and Gregor are good friends, but we've never been in this role of a joint performance before, except for New Year's. So this dynamic that happened in SiTi Theatre was something new for both of us. I have to admit that we had our reservations at the beginning, because we're different and have different music, as well as different audiences. But those reservations vanished quickly.
Tumblr media
Bojan and Gregor are good friends, but a joint stage performance was something completely new for them.
Does that mean that we can already feel some special chemistry in the air, are you making special connections, will you leave your bands and become a duo?
Gregor: Oh, no. There are very few new bands on the scene who are really doing and creating something, but most of us who are here get on well and are friends. There's a sort of healthy rivalry between us, we encourage each other to do well; but the frontmen of two bands making a good story together doesn't mean anything other than something new being made. Of course we're staying in our own bands.
Was there no bad blood in your bands because you two were the only ones performing, and they were more in the background?
Gregor: Actually they all came to listen to our concert. And our drummer said to me that he thought it would be "much worse"… (laughter)
Bojan: That's also what their drummer said to me… (laughter)
How did you get through this whole difficult period in the past year and a half?* I heard that you worked on gaining fitness by hiking up Šmarna gora (Mount Saint Mary)?**
Bojan: Me and Štras became quite the sportsmen, we really hiked up Šmarna gora a lot.
Gregor: Yes, we became real Šmarna gora mountain goats.
Bojan: And we had all sorts of similar traumas, seeing as we work with the same producer. We were all in the process of making our own albums, which with our producer is very specific and torturous. So we consoled each other a little and helped each other through this period.
Gregor: Yes, we had similar pains. But otherwise, the bands that did better in this Covid period were the ones where all the members are friends, have fun together, and are creative and mischievous. In truth, even this period could be used for creativity and progress.
Tumblr media
Recently, they've often hiked up Šmarna gora together and became, as they said, true Šmarna gora mountain goats.
How much did the fact that you didn't have an audience to test your products and get feedback about the songs you'd made influence your creativity?
Bojan: We were lucky to have social media, so we could still stay in touch with them and see that people miss us.
Gregor: Yes, that's a good question, because when you're focusing on your songs, you can really check out the response at the same time on stage. And now that wasn't an option, so it was definitely a little different. On the other hand, maybe that's even better, because you are able to take more time for individual songs.
Who are your role models, who did you listen to? Bojan, we know Siddharta was close to your heart, and Mladenović with Ekatarina Velika wasn't; but what do you two really enjoy listening to, which great renditions make your hearts beat? For Bojan, is it Bob Dylan? (T/N: see the end of the post for some links and explanations about the musicians mentioned in these paragraphs)
Bojan: Not at all, I prefer The Beatles and ABBA, and I also really like some domestic Serbian "turbofolk" music. There are many different things that make my heart beat.
Gregor: Yes, I like the "turbofolk" scene sometimes as well. But in general, I'm a fan of quality music. And if something is good, I don't pay attention to its genre at all. (laughter)
And which of the local bands do you like best? Magnifico?
Gregor: Yes, Magnifico is dope too, but my mentor was Tomislav Jovanović - Tokac from the band Dan D. When I was little, we were constantly blasting Dan D in Novo mesto, and then I was fortunate enough to meet him, and he helped me.
Bojan: As far as Slovenian music goes, I grew up more on Siddharta, Big Foot Mama, rapper Trkaj, and I liked Murat & Jose as well.
Tumblr media
Bojan grew up on Siddharta, Big Foot Mama, rapper Trkaj, he also likes Murat & Jose.
Who writes your lyrics?
Bojan: Štras writes mine.
Gregor: And my mum writes mine. (laughter) Well, in truth, of course I write for my band and Bojan writes for his.
Do you help each other with it? Do other band members also help with criticism and suggestions?
Bojan: Absolutely. The boys are always very happy when they can contribute something, and they always find something I couldn't have found on my own. Which is very good.
Is their criticism sometimes brutal?
Gregor: Our bandmates are our biggest critics. And they don't allow any bullshit at all. And sometimes I think I've written something great, and then they tell me that it sucks, and then I spend two months wondering whether it's true or not, but usually they're right. But if they like a song right away, we know that it's really good. And they will never say that something is bad if it actually isn't.
Bojan: What Štras said is actually the worst thing that can happen to you. The moment you start thinking that something has to be changed, you already know that you haven't nailed it. After that, the doubts just grow stronger and you can already feel that this isn't it. Band members and parents - those are the worst critics. For me, my parents are even more brutal than my band. They don't even try to sugarcoat their criticism. I sing the song to them as well, of course.
Tumblr media
Gregor says that their biggest critics are their bandmates, who don't allow any bullshit.
And the audience? How would you rate their reactions to your latest performance in SiTi Theatre?
Gregor: Bojan drew in the teenage girls, and my friends and family came to listen to me.
Bojan: No, no, no. He's kidding. I think we covered and sorted the audience nicely, there was a wide spectrum of different ages, and it was really very relaxed, youthful and playful. Others who had already been to these "One on one" performances in SiTi Theatre said so as well. The way we were on stage reflected off the stage as well.
Love is a constant, inexhaustible topic that you sing about. But are you also interested in other topics, maybe some more current, socially relevant ones? But we probably won't find you in the crowd on the streets where you might be arrested, like some protestors?***
Bojan: They might arrest us on the street, but not for the same thing. (laughter)
Are you not bothered at all by the way the world is?
Gregor: I'm constantly bothered and irritated by the world. But we're oriented a little differently. I'm kind of a passive activist. I'm not going to tell anyone what to do, not even in my lyrics. I hide it inside some sort of a rebus, inside metaphors that even I find hard to understand. But most of all I don't want to nag anyone about what's right and what's not.
Bojan: MRFY recently put out an album called 'Prjatučki' ('Little Friends'), and the first song on it is 'Kdo bo rešil svet?' ('Who Will Save the World?'), which talks about love and opening up to each other. It alerts us to what's currently lacking in our society. Some sort of common love for things that connect us. That's our line of thought. I don't see myself in the role of someone who would write a song called 'Rage Against the Machines'.
Gregor: We prefer to take a step back. We've never labelled ourselves politically. We try to create a world that exists alongside our world, in which love and friendship are respected emotions. Our message is this: when you're tired of fighting, come take shelter with us and we'll caress you a little, and then you can go back and keep fighting.
Tumblr media
They think that what's missing in society is a common love for things that connect us.
What motivates you when you're writing songs? Probably events and musings in your own lives?
Bojan: Right now, I've been writing songs that are either love songs or are rooted in introspection and finding yourself. That's really also what I experience everyday, and I examine myself in different situations. And that ends up being the impetus that drives me to write something. Nowadays, there's a lot of fighting and viciousness around us, and if we can create a world that's some kind of shelter for us and others to hide in, we might've done more than if we had become part of this army of vicious soldiers.
Apart from collaborating on the stage and hiking up Šmarna gora, what else do you do as friends?
Bojan: A lot of things. For example, we worked out together.
Gregor: Twice. (laughter)
Bojan: Yes, twice… (laughter)
Bojan: But honestly, I would say that we mostly spend time in Gregor's backyard, drinking coffee and talking.
Gregor: Only a few people can fully understand this role we've picked. Those of us who do similar things can help each other a lot. Sometimes it's enough to open up to someone about your problems and know that they understand you.
Bojan: We vent a lot. But at the end we usually realise that our problems are really quite "sweet". At first we think that they're the worst in the world, but they're always solvable.
Gregor: And Bojan usually has different problems than me. I find his problems negligible - and the other way around.
Tumblr media
They mostly spend time in Gregor's backyard, drinking coffee and talking.
Can you be a little more specific? Is it about songs or something else?
Bojan: Well, sometimes we have a nice evening that turns into a merry party, and then we usually have differing views of each other's merriness. When I explain what a nice time I had, Štras usually tells me: "Dude, you weren't like that at all. You were totally irritating." Meanwhile I had a great time...
Gregor: Well, I don't find Bojan fun at all. And if he drinks too much, he becomes annoying. But it's hard to remember specific stories. Really hard…
Bojan: Well, we like to talk about girls…
So that's the problem - you spend a lot of time on girls, but you don't want to talk about it in public… But does that mean that your fans still have a chance?
Gregor: Always.
What about your concert on October 15th? Will it be different in any way from your last one in SiTi Theatre?
Bojan: No, it will be the same - but even better this time!
*The interview was published in October 2021, so the question is referring to Covid lockdowns.
**Šmarna gora (Mount Saint Mary), with elevation of 676 m, is a hill on the outskirts of Ljubljana that's very popular with Ljubljana residents.
***In 2020 and 2021, there were a lot of protests against the then-ruling Slovenian government.
And here's a little bit about the musicians mentioned in this interview, in the order that they were mentioned. Links go to one of their songs on YouTube:
Siddharta, formed in 1995, is perhaps the most popular and successful Slovenian rock band, and one of the bands Joker Out always emphasise as their inspiration.
Ekatarina Velika was a Serbian rock band, active from 1981 to 1994, and very popular in former Yugoslavia. Milan Mladenović was its frontman who died in 1994.
"Turbofolk" is a musical genre that originated in Serbia. It blends Serbian folk music with other genres such as pop, rock, electronic music, etc. Here is an example of turbofolk music.
Magnifico is a Slovenian musician, active since the early 90s, whose music is inspired by the ex-Yugoslavian schlager music scene. Several of his songs have reached cult status in Slovenia.
Dan D is another popular Slovenian rock band from Novo mesto, which is where Štras is from. They've been active since 1996.
Big Foot Mama is another popular Slovenian rock band originating from the 90s, the one Kris's dad Miha Guštin - Gušti played the guitar in.
Rok Terkaj - Trkaj is a Slovenian rapper, active since the early 00s.
Murat & Jose is a Slovenian rap/hip-hop duo, also active since the early 00s.

Episode 4: Disconnected
Beyond the Star, produced by HYBE Media Studio
Namjoon gives a brief recap of their rise from debut, through the struggles of the next few releases and then they take off with Wings, Fire, Blood Sweat & Tears, Fake Love, and Idol and all their accolades and awards.
They open this episode with behind scenes from filming the ON MV at Los Angeles' Sepulveda Dam. It was hot that day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[did you say something Jimin? ahem... anyway]
Tumblr media
Regarding the previous years to this point in time, Namjoon says he may not have made the best choices all the time but he believes he made the best choices he could at the time. Yoongi says they compacted 20 years into 7 years at the expense of their physical well-being.
Namjoon says he tried to prove himself to the world but now sees that what he's left with are the choices he wanted to make at the time with all his effort and he learned a lot from them.
Jungkook says he lived a life fit for himself, that if he had forced himself to do something that didn't suit him, it would not have been good. He did what he wanted to do and experienced a lot. All decisions he made for himself and which helped him grow.
Tumblr media
In other words, they chose to work hard and run full speed ahead and we know that led to an almost burnout situation.
Namjoon states the lyrics of the song ON are what they mean: they've been through it and are on the other side, they made it to the other side together. Bring the pain, bring it on, it will only make us stronger.
It is heartbreaking to hear them talk about how much work they put into the MOTS tour, how involved they were with equipment and production decisions. Yoongi said it had been a while since they'd been this excited about preparing for concerts.
Things were planned that we never knew about. A large-scale gala for TV promotions?
And then the news early 2020. Jimin was asking if there was any chance the concert would ever go ahead as planned...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the two years or so of the pandemic, each member dealt with the social distancing, self-quarantining, loneliness and lack of live performances in their own ways. They did a lot of nothing during this time. The footage shown here was not of them during the first months of the pandemic. There were no cameras set up during that time. They used footage from times when they COULD film safely to help represent how they were during isolation. Looks like Hobi and Jungkook in the hotel suite after the Grammy Awards and footage of Jimin in his apartment in late 2021, etc.
There were long periods of time when everyone, including you and me were asked or required to abstain from going outside, to isolate away from others, to not socialize with more than 5 or 10 people at a time, even with our families.
Bang PD reflects that BTS were at the peak of their careers, they lived to perform, and had to overcome the feelings of helplessness and that's how he believes they've grown as humans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So they innovated...they produced the first online ticketed concert: Bang Bang Con. Over 750,000 viewers watched.
Tumblr media
It was reported on the news that BTS was once again changing the industry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then on August 21, 2020, they released a song to enjoy with the fans:
Tumblr media
If The Most Beautiful Moment in Life was the turning point, Dynamite was literally the explosion that shot them into the stratosphere.
Tumblr media
Dynamite broke records of every kind: on Youtube the MV set a new record of over 3 million peak viewers during its premiere, almost doubling the previous record, and set a new all-time record for the biggest music video premiere on the platform and the most viewed YouTube video in the first 24 hours, earning 101.1 million views and setting three new Guinness World Records.
In the U.S., Dynamite debuted a #1 on the BBHot100, and is BTS' first #1 single in the US. The song became both the longest-running number one on the Digital Songs chart by a Korean artist and the longest-charting song by a Korean artist on the Hot 100, when it spent its 18th non-consecutive week at #1 the Digital Song sales chart and 32 weeks on the Hot 100, three of those weeks at #1.
Hobi said it was overwhelming that their sincerity had reached all parts of the world. Jin said it was a song to simply enjoy with fans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bang PD said he knew what this would mean for their future and what a positive impact it was.
Yoongi said they did the song in the hopes of giving everyone strength during the trying times of the pandemic. Namjoon says because of the situation (the pandemic) they lost so much (cancellation of the MOTS tour) so during that time, the strength of music and performances were their way to give comfort and support to the fans.
Tumblr media
With the ongoing pandemic, they had to adapt. In October 2020, they produced Map of the Soul ON:E ... two online concerts that had a record-breaking 993,000 paid viewers from a total of 191 regions across the globe. It was performed at the Olympics Gymnastics Arena. It was elaborately produced. It was expensive. Lots of man-hours went into it.
They said they enjoyed doing it, they worked hard but it was a challenge because the missing element was a live audience... Army was missing. It would never replace a live concert's energy but they were still thankful they could even do it to begin with. It would be another year before BTS was in front of a live audience again.
Tumblr media
Overnight on Nov. 24, 2020 they gathered in front of the television in their dorm to watch the 63rd Grammy Awards nomination announcements. Only four of them were there: Jimin, Namjoon, Jungkook and Tae. I had heard the others had schedules the next day and needed to sleep.
They had never known how the Grammy nominations were announced, this was their first experience and when BTS was announced you could feel their astonishment through the screen. The first Korean artist to ever be nominated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the Grammy Award broadcast (done remotely), they also performed their own song, Dynamite.
Alas, they did not win but they'd made so much history and broke so many records in 2020, the year of deep lows and the highest highs.
They felt motivated, knowing they still had room for success and had something to strive for.
They were proud to show the world that there are singers like them from Korea and that Army and BTS exist.

So I may have created a trolls AU based the show Julie and the phantoms (which I highly recommend you check out)
In this AU, instead of being a simple boy band like in the movie, they a literally a band, with JD on the lead guitar, Bruce on drums, Clay on the bass, Floyd on keys, and Branch is the second guitar in training. Poppy and Branch are still best friends, and are gonna become a couple eventually, but in the beginning, just friends.
So, without further adieu, let me introduce you, to Poppy and the Phantoms!
Tumblr media
First up we have Poppy (Please don't mind the fact that she doesn't have tail in the drawing, I forgot to add it here but it will be present when I digitalize these)
Poppy is a University student still mourning the death of her mother, who is desperately trying to fix her inability to sing and play music since her mothers passing. She still loves music, but the grief is sadly stronger. When her dad brings up the thought of selling the house in favor of helping her, Viva and himself with moving on from her death, she goes to clean the garage, aka her moms old music studio. Where she finds an old CD, for a band called Brozone. When she puts it in the player and lets the first song play, three familiar ghosts pop out of nowhere.
(Things written on the paper, without my spelling mistakes and some minor stuff I didn't write down)
Lives in the house that John Dory and his new band would live and practice at
Discovers the phantoms when looking through her moms stuff in the garage
Figures out pretty quickly who they are, with Branch being her best boyfriend
They make a band to help the guys ascend and Poppy to mend her relationship with music
Lives with Viva and her dad
Tumblr media
Next up, John Dory
Back when he was in his teens, he and his brothers made a band called Brozone, which, despite was pretty popular all things considered. However, when they were preparing for one of the biggest concerts of their live, they get into a fight about John Dory being too bossy and demanding of his younger siblings. After which, John Dory leaves the house and his family at the age of 17. In the span of his time alone, he makes a new band with some of his new friends. In a short span that they've been a band. John Dory wrote pretty much all of the songs that they sang, and though trial and error, they got an opportunity to play on a stage that has made a lot of underground artists mainstream. However, John never gets the chance to play on that stage, for her dies from a poisoning 30 mins before the show.
(Things written on the paper)
He and his brothers were in a band called Borzone, where he played the guitar
Until he, SpBruce and Clay quit, leaving Floyd and Branch alone (Well, they all lived with Grandma, you get what I mean)
Regrets it, deeply
Wrote all the Brozone songs, including songs for his new band
Also wrote "Unsaid Emily", which was originally named "Unsaid Family" as a tribute to his biggest mistake in life and an apology to his brothers, but renamed it.
Died right before his big performance on the same day and Bruce and Clay
Died at the age of 23
Tumblr media
Bruce next
When his brother proposed the idea of making a band, he had his doubts, since they were all in school and had their own stuff to do, but then again, up until then, he and JD always did crazy things together, and band was by far the most tamest of his brothers ideas. And with everyone else on board he thought "fuck it, why not?". And it was fun for a while, until he noticed how controlling JD had become, always telling him to go practice instead of letting him hand out with friends, telling him to watch his shape, giving him a work out routine for that, Bruce had enough and finally stood up to his brother and claimed that he's quitting the band, to which Clay joined in on, and which prompted JD to leave all together. And soon after, he leaves the house at the age of 16. He rents a small house by the beach, works at the cafe near it, changes his name from Spruce to Bruce, and takes up surfing. Which also becomes his downfall on a particularly bad day, and he takes his surfboard out for a quick swim, gets swallowed by a wave, and never resurfaces.
(Things written on the paper)
Was the drummer in Brozone
Was the first one to declare he's leaving the band and feels like it's his fault for causing the butterfly effect of others quitting as well
Left to live by the beach as soon as he could
Wanted to reach out to his brothers, but only ever sent a single post card to each
Died in a surfing accident on the same day as John Dory and Clay
Died at the age of 22
Cried when they all realized that they're dead
Tumblr media
Last but not least (for now), Clay
Clay was, surprisingly, very on board with JDs idea about the band, despite being the nerd and bookworm of the family. He just wanted to spend more time with his brothers and have fun. That quickly changed when John completely stopped paying attention to Clays interests, hobbies and dreams. And especially with the forced title of "The fun one". He finally snapped when John kept trying to push them beyond their limit for their important concert, the time they should've spent relaxing after all the hard work they did to get this far was instead spent with their instruments like that's all that mattered. When Bruce brought up quitting the band, Clay happily joins that train, and walks out the door as soon as John and Bruce do. And so, Clay leaves the house and goes to stay with his friend at the age of 14. He finishes high school, gets accepted into a very good university, and moves into a dorm as soon as he can as to not cause more trouble for his friend than he already has. And life is good again, he's doing what he wants, works at a local library, studying to be a licensed CPA, and is gathering his courage up to confess to Viva. However, he does the latter too late, for he confesses to her and dies in a fire at the university while saving her, pushing her out of the burning building before it collapses on top of him.
(Things written on the paper)
Was the bassist in Brozone
Stayed with a friend after leaving the band and moves into a dorm as soon as he got accepted into uni
Was going to be a licensed CPA
Was best friends with Viva before he died
Died on the same day as John Dory and Bruce in a fire
Died at the age of 20
Was also in a sad book club
There's still a lot I need to write out about this AU, and a lot of characters to draw and design, but I hope you all like what I have so far! Here are some redraws of certain scenes from Julie and the Phantoms with this crew (again, excuse the lack of tails on one of these, I once again forgot to add them, just imagine that they're there)

How would Gaku, Tsunashi, Yuki, Momo, Yamato, and Mitsuki handle witnessing reader's abusive ex barging in trying to forcefully take them back? I imagine reader isn't an s/o to the boy(s) yet…but just someone that works as part of the company supporting the idol group. Maybe all this goes down back stage at one of their concerts? Reader's one of the staff and the idol just so happens to witness this going down backstage? And I don't necessarily mean just physically violent ex. Someone that's a bit too clinging/insistent, someone that had a history of emotional manipulation with the reader, someone that's overbearing and/or controlling and/or possessive works too. Sorry…kinda projecting here and fantasizing about one of these idol 'knights' stepping in and giving a clingy ex the what for ^^
Gaku, Momo, Yuki and Yamato handle witnessing reader's abusive ex
A\N: im sorry this took so long anon! this was definitely an interesting one to write
.::.
Yaotome Gaku
Tumblr media
Gaku wants to punch your ex.
He's probably going to.
not yet though. He has to see how this plays out before doing something that might get his whole career put in jeopardy.
He's not even sure how this guy got back to the rooms that clearly say 'STAFF ONLY' and that only caused more concern.
The idol had already been talking to you and thanking you for your hard work when your ex opened the door and acted all too familiar with you, even trying to give you a hug while you grimaced, trying to fumble your way out of their grasp.
They proceeded to talk about how hard and long they've been trying to find you while you sit there with a less than impressed expression, not even nodding along to their rambling.
Eventually all the nonsensical talk came to a head when they said they were taking you back with them where you belong.
Before you could even open your mouth to respond to the sheer gall of such a statement, the silver haired idol beside you beat you to it
"They're not going anywhere with you." He says, not keeping in mind at all his image and that he should've probably said it in a more polite tone. "They're an adult, let them choose for themselves." Gaku asserts for you.
He could argue with your ex all night if he had to, constantly standing up for you and your freedom to do or be with whoever you want to.
"They're not yours." Gaku puts his foot down, before turning to you. "(Y/n), what do you want to do, do you want to leave and head out with me and everyone else, or be with them?" The question is presented, wanting to hear your true opinion lest he end up talking over or for you too much.
Your former partner makes an attempt at another pointless explanation and reason for you to go with them. Gaku tries his best not to glare too much.
Even if he weren't head over heels for you, he'd do this for you regardless. You're your own person after all.
Of course you didn't want to be with your ex anymore. Their toxicity was something you'd had enough of a long time ago.
With a hesitant expression, slowly becoming more determined, you turn back to Gaku.
"I want to go with you." You say.
The idol's expression becomes much softer towards you, even causing him to smile.
"Come on then." He dares to gently grab your hand, the two of you walking to meet back up with the rest of TRIGGER.
Momo
Tumblr media
Momo was carefully weighing the options of what he could do in this situation as soon as he sees you tense up at a person that isn't wearing staff uniform and looks a little standoffish.
Upon listening further your ex uses some terms that implies you were in a romantic relationship with them. His heart almost hurts a little, especially since he himself was interested and about to start pursuing you. But seeing how you look, you clearly didn't feel the same as them, at least, not anymore.
So now he was cooking up some sort of fast plan where the both of you could leave this situation as quickly and painlessly as possible.
He could pretend he was drunk, but wasn't sure how efficiently he could pull that off..and it probably would creep you out. Other than that, he had one other option...
(Y/N)-CHAAAAN, MY LOOVEE~" Imaginary flower petals could practically be seen floating around him in a pink, romantic haze as he skipped down the hallway towards you.
You and your former partner's heads quickly whip toward the direction of the loud idol, confused, and honestly you couldn't handle anything else bad happening right now.
However, you feel yourself nearly tripping and knocked over by your friend who had thrown his weight onto you, his arms wrapped around your shoulders.
Both you and your ex blink at that.
"Found you! I was wondering where you went, darling!" Momo cheerfully proclaims, his cheek nearly brushing up against yours.
"..'darling'?" Your ex repeats with a mix of frustration and confusion.
"Momo-" You start, before watching him carefully wink at you before continuing to fawn over you. It took a moment for you to understand his intention.
"Come ooonn, we're going to be late to the afterparty at this rate, we have to go right now!" Momo tugs at your arm
"Ah...okay." You nod, and he puts a hand on the small of your back, turning you around. Your ex's eyebrow twitches at the contact.
Even though this was an act, he was definitely rubbing it in on purpose.
"Hey, I-" They start to protest.
"I'm sorry, me and (Y/N)-chan can't be late! Maybe you guys can text or call later? They just got a new phone number though."
You didn't have a new phone number, he was purposely misdirecting them.
They start to say something else, but its disregarded as you and Momo start to head out, a grin on his face, soon accompanied by a relieved sigh from the two of you in unison
Yuki
Tumblr media
"You're a little bitch."
Depending on the person, either the statement itself, the fact it was coming from a top idol, or Yuki's unbothered expression while saying it could be more infuriating than the other.
"Wh..What did you just say to me you pretty boy punk!?" Your ex's fists clench, clearly about to escalate the situation.
At first, the idol wasn't even in the same room as you and your ex's current confrontation, but as he walked by the hall and overheard, he felt the need to involve himself, not liking their tone.
"If you're that hurt, go home and cry about it, at least have the decency to not come in public and berate your ex." Yuki says in an icy tone without a shred of mercy. "How can you expect them to take you back when you're being this embarrassing?" A rhetorical question.
"W-wait, Yuki!" You try to step in front of him before your former partner thinks about getting physical with him, resulting in an even bigger mess.
"Nono, they can hit me if they want, but it'd only prove my point." The composer only adds fuel to the fire, a less than savory habit of his. "I'm not scared of them."
Your ex lets out a low growl, getting closer with slow stomps.
"Stop! Please just leave, I don't want this!" You put your hands out in front of you, signaling them to cease.
"But (Y/N), are you really gonna let this guy get away with saying that?!" They turn to you with frustrated furrowed brows.
"I...its..i agree with him!" You blurt out, making their eyes widen, their posture becoming less hostile and more surprised.
Yuki on the other hand, entirely expected this. He extends a manicured hand out to you.
"Let's go, (y/n)."
Your lips purse, looking between him and your ex, before taking his hand.
You two ignore your ex, walking away.
"You won't regret making this decision, I promise." He assures you.
Nikaido Yamato
Tumblr media
Yamato was heading backstage to personally invite you to the afterparty. Was it necessary since you'd likely already be there? Not really, but the other group members insisted since it was an easy way to start a conversation with you.
Once he rounded the corner though, he was greeted with the unpleasant sight of your ex with flowers, saying something about how they'll 'treat you better this time', while you looked pale enough that he wouldn't be surprised if you threw up any minute now.
Usually, (if it isn't one of his fellow group members he'd just mark it up as another thing that isn't his business and make his way out,
but A. he liked you
and B. he didn't like wherever this was going
so, against his better judgement, Yamato decides to walk up behind the two of you, a bit unintentionally awkward, but how else would he approach something like this?
"Y-Yamato!" You nearly gasp, as if this couldn't get anymore embarrassing already, you were cringing that now your friend was here to witness your ex's behavior.
"..excuse me, we were in the middle of something." Your ex isn't rude, but they aren't polite to Yamato either. To them, they were in the middle of fighting to stay together with you, and didn't appreciate being interrupted.
"Ah, don't mind me, I'm just waiting in here for something." He lies, putting his hands in his pockets.
Your ex squints, before continuing to make their case for why you should come back to them.
The attempts you make at explaining why you won't end up falling on deaf ears...well, not on Yamato's at least.
"Please (Y/N), I was immature back then, but im better now..could you just come back home with me and talk things out?" They border on begging.
Your breath hitches, not even knowing how to react anymore, before Yamato gets closer.
"Eh, (Y/N) has some stuff they need to get to first, the staff has been calling them for a while now." He rubs his neck, a little too nonchalantly for the situation.
You were a bit offended for a moment, as for one thing you had already done all your work, and that he was being so casual about this.
..And then you realized, he was acting.
"They...still aren't off work?" Your former partner asks with a frown.
"Entertainment industry is 24/7 work more often than not, trust me I know." The man sighs, shrugging. "Don't worry, you'll have plently of time to see (Y/n)..whenever their next off day is. Better to not come while they're working again or security will take care of you." He frames it as giving advice rather than a warning.
"Alright, lets go." A hand is tapped on your shoulder, him signaling you to follow.
Giving one last look to your ex, you turn and do so.
"...Yamato, where are we going?" You whisper.
"Staff Backdoor. That creep won't follow us there...At least not if theyre parked or walked here from there."
Once outside, You bow in thanks to your savior, apologizing for what happened.
He just looks at you with a small, understanding smile, patting your shoulder. "Its fine, not like it was your fault. If they come by again let one of us know, yeah?"
"Thank you..oh right, was there anything you needed from me since you came to see me?"
He nearly coughs. Asking you to the afterparty would still be harder than what he just did, but he'll suck it up.

I have a literati prompt! 😁 Jess and Rory’s movie dates or the distillers concert date. We never got to see or hear much about their dates so this would be so cute to read (damn you Amy!)
The Distillers concert is gonna be in the next chapter of Thing I'd never say, so I'm not gonna write that as a prompt. But their movie dates is a fair game 😎 so here it is, a little vignette or whatever it is, about their movie date from season 3, when Lane said they were a cute agoraphobic couple.
Movie date
They were watching Almost famous, again. After the third time Rory lost count how many times they've seen this movie. But Jess loved it, it made him happy, so she didn't mind, even though she put on a show of being annoyed with it. She suspected he could see right through her act, but it was just a game they played, a little ritual of theirs both of them enjoyed. And really, how can you not enjoy a movie date with Jess? Rory was snuggling against his side on the couch in her living room, full on delicious indian food, warm and content. His sweater soft against her cheek, her arms wrapped around his middle. She wasn't paying attention to the screen, but to the boy in her arms. Her ear was pressed against his chest listening to the steady beat of his heart. They were well into the second half of the movie, so their postures slacked, he was slouching, and she was on her way to horizontal. This moment in their movie dates was her favorite, because he was fully relaxed, comfortable, and she felt really close to him, and very warm and cozy, and it felt like she could spend forever just wrapped around him like this. It was this lazy post-dinner sluggishness where they could just relax against each other and just be. No witnesses, no crazy townies, just them, Rory and Jess.
She felt him kiss the top of her head, and smiled to herself. This tender side of Jess that rarely came out was something she cherished dearly. She entwined her fingers with his, and he immediately went to stroke her palm and thumb softly, sending goosebumps up her arms. As much as she loved these tender moments with Jess she couldn't deny the physical reaction her body had to his touch. Maybe one day one of these movie nights will turn into something different entirely. One day when he's not working so much, and she doesn't have a lot of homework, one day she'll be ready for more. And it will be amazing. She was sure of that.
