HII ANON !! THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FIRST REQ AND OF COURSE !!
How the main four would react to self harm scars
TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of self half, suicide
Tumblr media
STAN :
- If im going to be honest, he was probably the last straw for you to break and self inflict scars.
- He probably wouldn’t have noticed if it wasn’t for you’re hoodie sliding down when you reached for something on the high shelf.
- He wouldn’t talk about it to you but honestly will hint about it to you very subtly.
“Hey.. you know you can talk to me about anything, right?”
“You know how much I love you right?”
“I’m always here if you need me.”
- Eventually after it starts healing he still wouldn’t talk about it because he does so himself but whilst its healing he apologises for every little thing he does.
“Im sorry for not doing the dishes on monday.”
- Still hasn’t talked about it but showed you a lot of affection and sometimes grabs your wrists to kiss your scars better.
KYLE :
- Out of the main four he would be the first one to notice.
- He wouldn’t have noticed if you wouldn’t have worn a jumper when it was boiling hot outside.
- He caught a glimpse of your scars when you were studying with him.
- Kyle being an over worryer he would grab your wrists instantly, gently lowering your sleeves to see the damage.
“..What made you want to do it, my love?”
- Would also be the type of person to talk about it too.
- Reassuring you while you let out what you’ve been bottling up in his arms.
“Shh.. baby its okay.”
“Darling im not mad, okay?”
- He knows you’re struggling so for the next week he’ll do anything you’ll ask.
- The next following weeks he will show more responsibility and care for you.
- Sometimes even coming over unannounced with food just to feed you.
KENNY:
- wouldn’t notice until someone would point it out.
- probably would be butters because the boy is curious of what happened.
“Hey y/n what happened there?”
- He would turn his head and find Butters pointing directly at your self harm scars.
- He watched as you brushed it off with ease.
- Anger boiling up inside him but not towards you, but himself.
- ‘Why didn’t I check up on them?’
- ‘God.. I’m such an idiot.’
- Eventually will grab you by the wrist and drag you to the nearest empty room to confront you.
- Grabs you’re wrist and pulls down your sleeve.
“What’s this.”
“Oh its nothing bab-“
“No. What’s this.”
- Will definitely be upfront to you about it and comfort you.
- Very demanding because he cares/
- The following weeks he’ll bandage it up for you daily until it was healed.
- He just cares but in his own way.
Cartman :
- would be the first one to get suspicious.
- noticing how you would pull down your sleeves.
- he wouldn’t be vocal about it though.
- wouldn’t be mad either. more understanding.
- he’s the type to help you subtly.
- buying you food and delivering it to your house.
- helping you cover up.
- leaving his hoodies and jumpers for you to use with a note.

Yall I did it!!! I actually finished the chapter! Okay so now I was thinking seriously of splitting this chapter in two parts but in the end, I couldn’t find a good, satisfying place to break them in half so… here’s a really long chapter! Hopefully you guys don’t mind 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Okay well anyways, God bless all of you and thank you so much for continuing to read my stuff, following my page here, giving me kudos and especially all the really nice, wonderful comments! Those are like instant serotonin to my brain 🤍.
Anyways hope you enjoy!
-
It doesn’t take long for Peeta to arrive home. After our call ended, with me tearfully proclaiming I need you, all I could manage to do was stare at the clock. Stare at it and count the minutes until my husband was here with me and not lingering in town, vulnerable and unaware of the most recent turn of events.
Not lingering in town, where Vulcan could find him and follow through with his threat to take Peeta’s life.
I almost choke as the possibility dawns on me. For some reason, in the hours since I awoke, the prospect of Vulcan the Stalker harming Peeta had yet to even cross my mind.
And my head wound throbs and my side aches something awful as the image fills my mind. The image of the person I love most in the world, lying in a pool of his own blood, slowly dying from a wound inflicted by a monster, who for some deranged reason chose me to be the object of his affection. My chest hurts at the very concept that Peeta could be gravely injured and I would be none the wiser. The mere idea quite literally takes my breath away.
The mere idea that what happened to me could happen to Peeta makes my eyes fill up, and I wonder if I begin to hyperventilate how much it’ll damage the stitches in my side. How much can I move before I damage the seams holding my hip together and keeping me from bleeding out all over the bed.
But — thankfully — I don’t have time to find out. Because before I can have a full meltdown, much like the one I already had upon waking up and finding myself stitched together like one of Prim’s old rag dolls, my husband’s stomp booms as he comes up the stairs, apparently taking them three at a time.
And I’ve never been so grateful for his gait. I’ve never been so grateful that he’s as loud as a bear on a wild chase.
I only wish we could be alone. I wish we could just have a moment to ourselves. But there’s still Enforcers in our hall, conferring quietly among themselves, with no end to their visit in sight. Actually, it’s not just the hall. There is still Enforcers everywhere on our property.
On our lawn, in our kitchen, on the porch, in the living room, the office, the backyard, down the road.
And especially in the spare room where I painted the floor scarlet with my blood. They’ve all been taking turns rotating in and out of that room for as long as I’ve been coherent.
One of the Enforcers — a younger male, who I haven’t had to personally speak to — attempts to stop Peeta as he rushes to get to me, his eyes dark and wild and intense.
“Sir, I’m sorry,” the young lawman says, his tone all business and detached. Like my near death experience is nothing but a bore to him. “This whole house is a crime scene. You can’t be in here-”
“She’s my wife,” Peeta simply states, as if that changes everything.
Because it does. To me and to him.
Because for as long as that handcrafted ring is on my finger, wherever I am, he belongs too. There’s nowhere I could be that Peeta wouldn’t follow. There’s nothing that could keep me away from him.

I HC Sirius as the most skilled duelist amongst the marauders.
He spent 12 yrs in azkaban, an yr in a cave on the run and another one cooped up in his house and was still skilful enough to duel Bellatrix ( yes she was in azkaban too but tht barely counts as azkaban doesn't affect death eaters as much as it affects normal ppl, which is y DEs can't produce and don't need a patronus around dementors). The only reason he lost was because he got arrogant and reckless, not because he wasn't skillful enough. Bellatrix was trained by voldemort himself, but we have no canon proof of Sirius being officially trained by anyone. Kingsley, who was a trained auror and who could duel 2 DEs at the same time, was thrown back after duelling her for lyk 2 secs( tho he was probably upset abt Sirius dying so I ll give him a pass).
Now, ik tht james and lily deceived voldemort 3 times n tht he wanted to recruit them (which doesn't make sense coz lily was a muggleborn n this is never explained or brought up in the series again but sure), but i still think Sirius is more powerful in this sense coz he's ready to inflict pain on his enemies in a way James isn't. This dynamic is laid out by how Sirius is the one to send Snape to the whomping willow and James is the one who risks everything to save him, essentially doing damage control here. In a fight against voldemort's followers, Sirius's actions would count as beneficial for the greater good rather than prompting a moral analysis of his character.
Compared to lily.... yeah I don't think she's gonna triumph on a fighting level. Unlike Sirius, she's essentially a plot device and her character revolves around what's needed to move the story at tht moment. So if the plot required her to be better, she would be, but lily is portrayed as some sort of saint with a moral high ground, I have a hard time imagining her to be better
Remus imo doesn't even count. Thts not to say he wasn't skilled, but I don't think he can be compared with Sirius at all. A few months of inactivity cost him his life at the hands of dolohov, while Sirius still didn't hv a skill issue even after everything mentioned in the beginning.
Now Peter..... there's a lot of unexplored potential with peter. He's the most cunning of the lot, even Dumbledore didn't suspect him being a spy for a whole yr. But idk if that can attest to his combat skills. He frames Sirius and escapes because of sheer cunning and not skill( he draws his wand quicker than Sirius but Sirius had just lost james and realised tht his best friend, someone he would hv died for, was a traitor, so imo tht doesn't count). In general tho I don't see him as a combat guy, he seems to be more of a spy than a soldier

Ways parents can fail children without even realizing it
TW: Mentions of mild child neglect, EDs, physical and mental health.
Sorry for not posting in a while but I just got back from a family holiday. The fact this is the first post I write probably isn’t a good sign but I think this is an interesting topic.
First, what do I mean by failing a child? Well, I mean that pain is inflicted, either emotional or physical. But in this case without realizing it, I’m not talking obvious physical or verbal abuse. Most of what I’m going to talk about is more ignorance than anything else. But it’s a great way to make characters more distant with their parents without having to make the parents bad people.
1.- The assumptions that children exaggerate their pain. I’ve seen this so often it’s painful. When a child complains they’re in pain, when they cry and scream for help, parents often treat this as a tantrum and don’t stop to consider perhaps they are actually in a lot of pain.
As well as illness another thing to consider is, how many of you have had your parents laugh after you fall down and start crying before stopping to check if you’re okay? This can also be emotionally damaging when a child is actually hurt.
This kind of ignorance can also cause food intolerances to be ignored and be forced to continue eating foods that cause us harm because they’re healthy.
2.- Failure to recognize your children are different to you. This can be both physical and metal. I think the fastest way to explain this is through two examples:
1.- Physical. My mother has straight hair, mine is curly. If you don’t know, curly hair requires a very different treatment to straight hair. As a child I recall my mother putting huge emphasis on brushing my hair every morning, I did as I was told and every morning my hair looked worse than before brushing it. It’d be all fizzy and just not nice to touch. My mother saw this as either me not brushing it, or when she saw me brushing it, that I was somehow doing something wrong. When I realized my hair was much better when I didn’t brush it and just combed it in the shower, she was having none of it. It wasn’t until I moved out I was allowed to do what I wanted with my hair and it looks much better now.
That bad hair care not only affected my mental image of myself, I suffered bullying at school and constant criticism from my mother. When I never got the tools to properly care for my hair.
2.- Mental. This one is far more obvious. If you have anxiety or any other mental issue that your parents don’t have, convincing them those feelings are real is extremely difficult, sometimes, near impossible.
But even more simple than that, I study best with music on, if there’s no music I will listen to conversations on the street and not be able to study. My parents studied best in quiet. They forced me to study in a way that didn’t work for me just because it had worked for them.
3.- Teaching children to save but not to spend. This one is a bit weird but stick with me. As a child I was given very little in material goods, which is fine, if ever I wanted something the answer was you can get with your own money. Okay, teaches children to spend money responsibly! Except the issue was, at the age of fourteen, I needed a computer for school and stuff. Computers are expensive. My pocket money was 5 euros a week. To earn that pocket money I literally ran the house (my father was ill, I ran the house because I was the oldest, my siblings were only like ten and five or something), to save up for a computer I needed to not spend any money during my childhood. I didn’t have new toys or actual hobbies. I also never went out with friends to eat or have drinks or go to the pool.
Like I’ve said, my parents didn’t mean to take away my childhood. My father wasn’t at fault for being ill. The issue for me was the fact my parents were well-off. My sister at this same age (and I’m happy for her) gets sixty-five euros. The computer ended up being a family computer. I used it to manage the entire house’s administrative work. I let my sibling use it for school later on. It went to my father for work when I left home and bought a laptop.
And as an adult who lives alone, the amount of anxiety I feel when spending money is... well, I lived off five euros a week during my first few years. I wasn’t eating enough or healthy. I’ve improved, but even now I’m still the person who finds the cheapest thing on the menu and always has that.
And that’s a trauma they taught me.
Had spending money been an option during my childhood, I perhaps would have learnt to spend as well as save. But I was taught to save to an extreme point and still do today.
This is very specific. But there are many ways parents end up teaching traumas while trying to teach healthy habits. A lot of EDs come from home for example. It’s very difficult to stop and think about the long-term consequences of certain actions.
4.- Body image. I knew what dieting was at the age of three because my mother struggle with her image. I knew I was chubby at the age of four. My mother still talks about my fat phase when I was pre-teen. I don’t even know if it was real at this point though, because at sixteen I was told by my doctor was I worrying under-weight, and my mother told me I was fat. I believed my mother over my doctor until she told me to not be surprised if my summer clothing didn’t fit because I’d put on weight. When every single item I tried on was baggy, I stopped listening to her. She probably still thinks it stretched out while in storage. But I know I stopped fainting when I started eating.
To this day, my mother reminds me how I musn’t eat desserts and how much better I’d look if I just lost a bit of weight.
I know from how she talks about herself that it’s more a reflection of her mental health than mine. But the inability to separate our issues from our children’s issues is dangerous.
Trauma shouldn’t be hereditary. And for that, we need to take a step back and evaluate our beliefs.
Anyway... that’s enough of my trauma turned into writing advice for one day!
I’m sorry if this was a bit heavy, I promise to write something lighter soon!
It’s been a really weird summer for me. I’m sorry I haven’t been active but just seeing the notification from tumblr and other social medias has given me a lot of comfort these months.
So, thank you for being here! Remember, everything changes, and if things aren’t going great today, that doesn’t mean two years down the line things can’t be better. Sometimes all we can do is wait things out. Hoping you find something to smile about today.
And, as usual if you want to check out my book, an activity book I have, my free stories or other social medias, all of that and more can be found here.

Unified Theory of Lethal Weapon (2016)
Having watched a handful of Lethal Weapon (2016) episodes, read the initial thesis from @darkfinch, and in further consultation (read: frequently outraged live-messaging during watches) with Finch, I have developed a tentative theory for how this show actually works.
The fundamental premise is that this is a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? type world, wherein a “Toon” world and a “Live-Action” world following different physical principles coexist and interact. The confusing part about Lethal Weapon is that both the Toon and Live-Action worlds look like live-action, making them difficult to distinguish. Note that the “Live-Action” world is still Hollywood fiction, so it still has notable differences from the real world, but it's closer to reality than Toon world and includes, for example, more realism and nuance in things like grief and suicidal tendencies.
E.g., in Toon LA, fireballs in the middle of LA are fine and only lead to scolding from the boss and a comedic running tally of how much the property damage has cost. In Toon LA, cops responding to a burglary results in a wacky car chase with people's gardens getting run over, and a van crashing into someone's garage only for the occupants to re-emerge seconds later on a motorcycle to continue the chase, all without anyone getting seriously hurt. In Live-Action LA, on the other hand, there is genuine danger to a child who was kidnapped to coerce his mother or to someone trapped in a house being burglarized who has to decide whether to hide or attempt to flee.
Roger Murtaugh, like his more charming namesake Mr. Rabbit, is a Toon, and he works in a Toon police department.
Like Roger Rabbit, who can free himself from handcuffs only when it's funny, Roger's capabilities depend on whether or not an action would be “funny” within the (fairly crass) buddy-cop comedy framework he is meant to inhabit. For example, Roger's heart condition affects the show when it facilitates something “funny,” like his heart-rate monitor going off in the middle of a car chase, or an argument with Riggs about whether or not he should avoid dangerous situations. Otherwise, e.g., if it would make it risky to tase a guy they're fighting in a sopping-wet shower, it does not exist.
Within the rules of Toon World, Murtaugh's "jokes" are cutting but not capable of inflicting real/lasting harm, similar to how Roger-Rabbit Toons can pop right back from physical damage that would destroy a Live-Action person. As a result, Roger tends to throw both cruel remarks and (sometimes) physical violence around liberally with the expectation that there will be zero repercussions after the metaphorical little birdies finish circling, so long as his actions are at all funny within his own buddy-cop story framework. (And, indeed, with his Toon colleagues, his behavior leads to little more than annoyance).
Martin Riggs is a Live-Action person working in a Toon police department.
I suspect, based on his opening scene and his course of action at the bank robbery when he arrives in LA, that the department he transferred from in Texas is also a Toon department. In any case, Martin is clearly experienced enough with the Toon world rules to utilize them effectively in some circumstances. E.g., Martin uses some very Toony police tactics and recognizes that he has substantial flexibility to defy his boss and/or dodge his employer-mandated therapist as long as he does so comedically (likewise, the therapist can counter some of his evasions to pin him down as long as she acts comedically, such as boldly following him into the men's restroom when he tries to side-step an unwanted conversation).
However, Martin is not a Toon, so being used as a punching bag (literally or metaphorically) does harm him. He chose to work in a Toon department, prepared to handle explosions and cartoonishly exaggerated police work and dodging (or not) the equivalent of grand pianos falling off the second floor towards his head, and instead ended up with a Toon partner who will poke fun at his mental health for jokes on a daily basis.
Trish (Roger's wife, for those of you following along while smartly avoiding direct contact with the trainwreck) is a Live-Action person who married a Toon. She lives primarily in Toon LA, likely due to her marriage to Roger, but can easily code-switch to her native Live-Action behavior, as she frequently does in interactions with Martin outside of Roger's presence. Trish and Roger's children, being half-Toon/half-Live-Action and raised in contact with both worlds, also show significantly more Live-Action nuance than their father and are fully capable of operating in both worlds.
Miranda (Martin's late wife) and her parents appear to be Live-Action people from Live-Action LA.
I will be collecting more data to substantiate or disprove these hypotheses as I continue viewing. Please use appropriate safety controls if you* attempt to replicate my findings or check the primary source in the course of peer review, since this research involves hazardous material.

Hydro Jet Line Cleaning Conroe Tx Mindset. Genius Concept!
The auger is typically the least expensive device for the job and in a variety of instances it does simply nearly as good of a job as anything else. Nevertheless, there is no motive to change a superbly good sewer. There may be an alternative choice for cleaning a sewer line. There may be a number of choices for methods to handle every a part of the process. How Do I Handle a Root Drawback: What are My Choices? As a result of root issues are inconvenient, many homeowners don’t do enough research. You should have no root points in your sewer line for five to 7 years if jetting is done properly. ” However, that was a long time in the past and since then I have seen too many roots in too many sewer traces to depend. It's then inflated with air, inflicting it to suit the precise dimension of the pipe. Just power washer match up to the effectiveness of hydro jetting a drain pipe. Over the last few many years they've turn into much more subtle. The kind of blockage can affect the worth as routine buildups are more quickly eliminated. In addition, many homeowners with trees growing near their sewer traces have routine inspections each three years to ensure no issues are brewing.

In some instances, the invasive roots must be dug up across the sewer pipe. A sewer video inspection prices $200 to $500 and helps diagnose any pipe damage and the severity of the roots. Relying on the severity of the job, extra prices may embody a sewer digicam inspection, sewage cleanup, eradicating a rest room to access the drain, or installing a cleanout for quick access. Hydro jetting may be costlier than using a sewer machine to clear a sewer fundamental. Deeper clean that lasts longer than snaking, however is dearer. Chemical Software - As soon as pipes are professionally cleaned, regular RootX or Bio-Clear applications help keep pipes clean longer. I’m positive that some of you reading this are in the identical boat that I used to be. Does it have the same effect on humans that it has on insects? Whereas therapeutic massage chairs have a relatively small market in the United States, that's not the case in every single place. Some massage chairs use another method that relies on air. When clearing roots out of a line with a mechanical auger, the plumber will use what is named a cutter head. The Broom Assist Head (BAH) performs exceptionally nicely removing extremely heavy debris reminiscent of gravel, chip seal aggregate as well as asphalt and concrete millings. Having bother with clogged pipes which might be past the reach of a plumbing snake or chemical drain cleaners? How Much Does It Price For a Plumber to Snake a Drain? Plumbers might suggest a sewer inspection to examine for harm before cleaning or if snaking or hydro jetting does not unclog the sewer line. Nonetheless, if you’re about to sell your house in the next 12 months or so, jetting may be a waste of cash. Avoid choosing the most cost effective quote as quality could suffer. Do You Need a Lot of Auto Insurance?
Auto insurance is required by law, but how much protection is sufficient? Due to the large number of factors to consider, figuring out how much auto insurance you require may be challenging. But by becoming informed about the many coverage alternatives and the elements that affect your premiums, you might be able to make a wise decision. We'll also go over a number of techniques to reduce auto insurance prices without compromising coverage. We're about to delve deeply into the subject of auto insurance, so fasten your seatbelts.
Getting Cheaper Auto Insurance
Car insurance premiums may be expensive, but there are methods to cut costs without sacrificing coverage. One straightforward way to reduce your expenses is to increase your deductible, or the amount you'll have to pay out of pocket before insurance begins to pay. Just be sure you have enough cash saved up in case you need to pay the higher deductible.
A simple way to reduce the cost of auto insurance is to bundle many policies with the same insurer. You can be eligible for a discount if you have insurance on many vehicles, a house or an apartment, all with the same carrier.
By driving safely, limiting your mileage, or adding more safety features to your automobile, you may be able to save money. Inform your insurance provider if you believe you are entitled to a discount.
Shopping around and comparing prices from several providers is a smart move if you want to ensure that you're receiving the best bargain on the insurance you require. Don't be afraid to barter or enquire; after all, it's your money.
Insurance Options for Automobiles
Selecting from the many available coverage options will allow you to modify your vehicle insurance policy to meet your unique needs and financial position. Liability, collision, and comprehensive insurance are frequently used in auto insurance packages.
Liability coverage, which covers damage you inflict on other people or their property while operating a vehicle, is the most basic type of auto insurance. This kind of insurance is necessary by law in many jurisdictions.
Your collision insurance will cover the costs of the repairs if your car is damaged in a collision with another car or an immovable object. This law also applies in the event that your car flips over or hits a pothole.
Comprehensive insurance provides coverage for all types of losses, including theft, vandalism, animal collisions, falling objects like trees or stones, natural disasters like floods and hailstorms, and theft.
Your insurer may offer to add additional coverages to your insurance for a fee, such as roadside assistance and rental car reimbursement. A solid understanding of the various auto insurance options will help you better protect both yourself and other road users.
Do You Need a Lot of Auto Insurance?
The question "How much do I actually need?" is one of the most frequent ones I get from prospective auto insurance customers. This question's solution depends on a number of factors.
Consider the very minimum auto insurance that your state requires as a starting point. In most places, it is illegal to drive without liability insurance, which covers injuries to others' bodies and damage to their property in the event that you cause an accident. However, sometimes even the most basic protection is insufficient.
An additional factor is the value of your vehicle. If your vehicle is brand-new or expensive, you should think about acquiring comprehensive collision insurance.
Numerous factors, including your own financial situation, affect how much coverage you require. A higher level of protection may be possible with higher liability limits, but the trade-off is higher premiums.
Ultimately, it's critical to consider each of these factors and work with an experienced insurance agent who can suggest the right quantity of coverage.
Your Rates' Influencing Factors
Your auto insurance prices can be influenced by a number of things. Each insurer has its own underwriting standards, and insurance companies take a number of factors into account when determining premiums. Here are a few important variables that may have an effect on the cost of your auto insurance.
Driving History: When insurers are determining the right rate for you, one of the most important factors they consider is your driving history. Less expensive rates than a spotty driving history with several claims can be obtained with a clean driving record with few infractions and accidents.
Type of Vehicle: Your insurance rate may vary depending on the brand, model, age, and safety features of your car. Generally speaking, the cost of insurance is higher for cars with pricey or high-performance parts because they present more dangers on the road than regular cars.
Place of Residence: Your residence has an impact on the cost of your auto insurance. Premiums could go up or down depending on the area's accident and traffic density, while they could go down or up depending on the area's crime rate.
Credit Score: Prior to providing coverage, insurers may consider credit scores. Since they represent a lower financial risk as policyholders, those with strong credit scores frequently receive more favourable terms than those who don't.
Limits on insurance coverage offer more thorough protection; as a result, choosing larger limits will probably result in a higher premium.
Tumblr media
Getting Cheaper Auto Insurance
Numerous strategies that don't materially alter coverage can be used to lower vehicle insurance prices. One of the most effective ways is to benefit from insurance company savings. The majority of insurance companies give discounts to safe drivers for things like keeping a spotless driving record and enrolling in defensive driving courses.
A different strategy for lowering monthly expenses is raising your deductible. A greater deductible will mean higher out-of-pocket costs in the event of an accident but lower monthly payments.
Saving money is possible if you combine your auto insurance with that of your house or apartment. This will enable you to significantly reduce the cost of both insurance.
It's crucial to regularly review and update your insurance to prevent spending too much for protection that you don't need. For instance, you might no longer need comprehensive insurance if your motor loan has been paid off.
Doing some research and comparing prices from different providers is necessary to find affordable auto insurance. Don't be afraid to ask inquiries and strike agreements because providers are vying for your patronage.
Conclusion
For car insurance, it's crucial to find the right balance between enough coverage and affordable rates. Finding out about the various coverage options and the variables affecting your premiums is crucial if you want to make an informed choice regarding your insurance policy.
It's understandable to want to save money on auto insurance, but keep in mind that if you ever need to make a claim, reducing your coverage could prove costly. By comparing prices from a number of trustworthy insurance providers, take advantage of any discounts or incentives that may be offered.
For financial security and peace of mind in the event of an unanticipated accident while driving, having enough auto insurance is crucial. Find insurance that fits your needs while remaining affordable by taking the time to educate yourself about your options.

Why Bruce Willis's Diagnosis Can Help
Tumblr media
How The Hollywood Actor's Recent Dementia Diagnosis Helps All of Us Now we may not like talking about it, but for great many others it's the elephant in the room. But just recently, Hollywood actor Bruce Willis's actor recent diagnosis has once again helped get the conversation in going.  Yes, I am talking about dementia. The cruel disease which affects the brain and to which there is no cure. A cognitive illness which, unlike Alzheimers which only affects the memory, Dementia affects a great deal more. Aspects that of brain functions that can be affected range from a variety of things such as eating and drinking to speech and understanding to behavior and memory loss.  Bruce's diagnosis is Frontotemporal Dementia which in his case affects both his ability to understand verbal communication and to actually communicate as well. Sadly, and for those who have studied the illness and/or supported those who live with it, will know that unfortunately there is just no happy ending. Once the disease begins affecting the brain and visually manifesting itself it only gets worse. How long this takes to happen can never be predicted as not all cases are the same. Basically, it's like many other lives affecting illnesses that sooner or later lead to horrific outcomes. You know you have a sickness that you will never beat and that it's only going to get worse as time goes on but you just don't know how long it'll take or how much of a grip it'll take when it actually does  But first and foremost, what is it? What does it mean to have this illness? And how does it affect the sufferer? Well, it's when the nerve endings on the brain die off and because it's one of the areas of the body that cannot self-repair the damage is irreversible. The illness affects neurological abilities, and in this case, communication and the ability to understand it. Now as I have already mentioned in previous columns I have done when speaking about this issue I have never shied away from speaking about how devastating it can be. But it's something that we're all going to have to talk about more often. Since the start of 2018 I have worked as a Support Worker helping support vulnerable adults with various disabilities, mental health issues and complex needs. Here's a little crash in what I know though; for the first year and a half I was based in a supported living house and one of the individuals I helped had a form of Dementia. In their case it was Vascular Dementia, and this type can be brought on by previous illnesses like a Stroke.  Now when I first started supporting this individual, I was taken aback by the way they behaved. They were in their mid-70's yet their behavior was as though they were at Pre-School. As days passed and I got to know more about this individual I learnt about how they used to be before the illness took grip. Apparently, you could converse with them and was able to tell you about their past. For me, because I had only known them when they were in the full throw of Dementia, I found it somewhat difficult to imagine this individual as they were before. After a couple of years, I found myself back at the place helping out for a few hours, I'd been at another location for a few months. When I was there, I quickly noticed that their Dementia had gotten much worse and it was absolutely clear that they needed more help than they would've done over a year ago previously.  Overall, it was a very cruel disease that has zero concept of pain, misery or loss that it inflicts upon people, from those who suffer it to those who know people suffering from it. Even a late relative of mine had a form of it in their final months, I never saw much of them in that period of time. In some ways I would view it as a form of relief as this was someone who'd been a constant regular in my life and had many memories of. And sooner or later we'd reach that stage where they'd struggle to remember who I was or how I was.  According to a report people who are diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia can live for around 8 - 10 years, and there are some who actually live much longer. What we should do well to remember is that it's not actually a death sentence either, even though the final outcome isn't going to be a nice one. But what I will say is that more support will always be required as it gets worse  https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna22261 Read the full article

Note
(this definitely wasnt inspired by the person who said sleeping beauty darling) a cinderella darling having gone through abuse their whole life wouldn’t be be upset with being held captive but actually happy and would go on with their dailies the the difference is they get some form of sick love from the yandere right?
tw - toxic relationships, manipulation, physical abuse, mentions of neglect, infantalization, obsessive mindsets, victim-blaming.
The devil you know is often better than the angel you don’t. I think an obsessive captor, however rich and loving, has just as much potential to be just as awful as any abusers you’ve met before.
At least you know how your step-mother feels about you. Your step-sisters might be a little more complicated, caught somewhere between sympathy and a new, budding superiority complex, between little shows of mercy and the cruelty they tolerate in exchange for a clean house and a safe distance from their mother’s anger, but she’s simple enough, she’s straight-forward enough, she doesn’t try to dampen the pure, unfiltered loathing in her eyes when she looks at you, all the anger a child deserves for being the feature-for-feature copy of a spouse so often found absent. She demands you that you clean so diligently because she wants you to know your place, below her. She locks the the cabinets and the pantries at night because she wants you too weak to argue, when she gives you your daily list of impossible tasks in the morning. She sends you out on errands that force you to walk all day and all night because every minute she doesn’t have to look at you is another tiny, prized blessing. She hates you. There’s nothing more, and there’s nothing less. You can live with being hated. You can live with making her your villain, especially when she seems so eager to take on the role.
And, you can live with letting someone else come to your rescue. You can live with dancing, with letting beautiful women and powerful men treat you like something to be cooed over and thoroughly pitied, with smiling and playing tragic when a young monarch asks for your clan’s name. It’s not hard to believe you’ve fallen into the arms of the right person when they touch you so gently, when their face grows so hot every time their skin brushes yours, when they ask to see the damage in such a soft, regretful voice, you can nearly forget you’re little more than a pet fanning the flames of your new master’s ego. It’s not hard to tell yourself that this is better, that this is easier, that crying yourself to sleep isn’t as bad when you’re crying into silk sheet, but you haven’t gotten this far by lying to yourself, and you would be lying if you said you didn’t hate yourself a little less when you were still sobbing in your family’s decrepit attic. You grew up with hatred. You’re used to hatred. You don’t know how to react when they slip an arm out your waist, their grip too tight to be ignored. You don’t know how to return their affection, so harsh, so bloody, so much like the abuse they once seemed so disgusted by, when it wasn’t inflicted by their hand. You don’t know what to say to calm their anger, their temper, that sudden burst of uncharacteristic rage whenever they find you talking to one of your servants or indulging the curiosity of a group of courtiers or fiddling with your wedding ring, stark and silver and far too much like a shackle to ever fit comfortable on your finger. You don’t know how to feel about this - not quite hatred, not quite anything else. A love so rotted and possessive, it can’t really be called love at all.
And, it’s hard when you only have yourself to blame. You were the one who went through such lengths to make yourself into something pathetic, something in need of protection. You were the one who plead for their mercy. You were the one who failed to push them away the first time they kissed you, the first time you felt their teeth crash against your skin, and you’re still the one who falters, who hesitates, who fails to say a word when they pull you close and mutter all those terrible things into the crook of your neck, all the things they’d do if another living person ever laid a hand on you again. It makes things hurt more than they used to, even if you know you’re being hurt so much less. It makes things feel more difficult than they used to, even if you could still divide your heroes and your villains into separate categories, if you really had to.
It makes things harder than they used to be, back when you knew better than to love the people who cause you so much pain.

Death - Would this yandere ever kill their darling? If not, would this yandere “kill” undesirable traits of their darling?
Whether it be during his pre-redemption arc or post-redemption arc, I don’t think Enji would ever purposefully kill his darling. His darling would still be an innocent civilian, so I doubt Enji’s hero instincts and morals would allow him to stoop so low.
Pre-redemption arc Enji isn’t above “killing” undesirable traits, however. I mean, we all saw how he treated his family during his pursuit of number 1; Enji will absolutely train you to be his ideal darling. I think he still has a sort of love or attraction towards you just being you, but… well… you can be better.
For example, I can imagine him training you like hell to fit his daily routine. He wants you to wake up early and make him breakfast, give him a goodbye kiss before he goes to work, clean the house while he’s gone, and so on and forth.
Now let’s say you make a mistake. Maybe the food you made was a tad bit salty or perhaps you missed a spot while cleaning the floors… No matter how miniscule the mistake is, you’ll be punished terribly. Sometimes, the sheer humiliation his punishments cause may even be less appealing than the raw pain they inflict. Your throat will be dry and scratchy from screaming or begging for him to stop by the end of it.
Oh, and don’t expect him to take mercy on you afterwards. You’ll still have to perfectly commit to the daily routine he taught you, even if you have to crawl to do your house spouse duties.
The Hierophant - Could this darling’s yandere fool them easily? Or be manipulated by them?
Nope. Though Hawks would think otherwise (lol), Enji’s pretty sharp. It would take a long time for him to actually believe your act, likely years down the line.
I think this is even more applicable to post-redemption Enji. He constantly wonders if he’s deserving of your love after the shit he’s done to both his family and you, so he’ll be all the more hesitant in trusting your affections, especially if it’s only a few weeks into your captivity. If you can manage to keep up your lovey-dovey facade for a few years, then you have a chance of fooling him; that is, if you haven’t already fallen into the clutches of stockholm syndrome.
Wheel of Fortune - Would this yandere’s behavior stay the same over time? If not, why do they remain the same?
Since he literally has an entire arc dedicated to him realizing how much shit he put his family through and trying to reconnect with them, the answer to this question has to be a hard no. Going from pre-redemption Enji to post-redemption Enji would throw you for a goddamn loop. This is more explored in a fic I mentioned working on, Little by Little, but Enji basically goes from an asshole who trains his darling until they're "perfect" to a reformed man who sincerely wants to reverse the damage he’s done. He tries to be a lot more empathetic and does his damn best to show his remorse through his actions rather than just his words.
I guess something that wouldn’t change is his refusal to let you go. It might be because he thinks you can no longer survive in society, or perhaps he's desperate for a form of companionship after he fucked up his relationship with his own family… or maybe he actually loves you. Well, the reason isn’t really important anyway; no matter what, you’ll be by his side and he'll be by yours.
The Moon - Is this yandere sensitive to what their darling says or does? If not, why don’t they care?
Pre-redemption Enji doesn’t care. He doesn't value you much, which in turn means that he doesn't really care about what you say. You can call him a bastard or whatever, but he doesn’t really take it to heart or listen. If you do say something that upsets him or what he deems as "misbehavior", he’ll just punish you until he’s sure that you’ve learned your lesson.
Post-redemption Enji is on the opposite scale of pre-redemption Enji. If anything, he’s hyper-sensitive. You’ll probably be really uncomfortable because of how focused his gaze is on you whenever you’re in the same room together. He’s really just wanting to find any signs of you being less afraid of him, but it doesn’t really help when you interpret the actions as him glaring daggers at you. Your insults also cut really deep. They’ll make him think about whether or not he’s actually changed for the better. If you seem to accept him and recognize his change, he'll be happy, but he won't bask in it for long since he'll still have the nagging voice of self-doubt in his head.

Tarot Ask Game (Sorry for replying to your ask late! @implexedactions)

Ok so hes CANONICALLY straight and 90% of the fandom sees him as bi but his behavior makes 5x more sense and his character is so much better when you see him as gay.
warning im giving you an entire essay in your asks im so so sorry i did not intend for this. warning all quotes are from memory.
So basically in fe3h theres things called ''crests'' that are passed down through the bloodline. Theres minor and major versions of each crest (though theres the same symbol for each version). The major crests are rarer but more powerful. Each crest has a special power. For example, the crest of Cethleann sometimes increases the power of healing, and the crest of Gloucester sometimes increases the damage inflicted by magic attacks. They have other affects (Dimitri has trouble with delicate tasks because his crest of Blaiddyd gives him increased strength, leading him to break things), but they dont really matter outside of battles.
There are certain weapons and objects that can only be used when you have a crest, and nead a certain crest for a certain skill. For example, Areadbhar allowed you to use the combat art (special weapon attack) "Devour Soul" when the unit has a crest of Blaiddyd, and the Lance of Ruin lets a unit with the crest of Gautier to use "Ruined Sky".
Crests also are seen as a status symbol in Fodlan. In noble houses with crests, those born with crests are closer in line to being an heir then those without crests. Women are married for their bloodline, so the family they marry into can have a crest, forced to have child after child until one has a crest. Crest-bearing men are seen as studhorses, for if a woman has a child with his crest, her child may be the next heir of the father's noble house.
Why am I going on and on about crests? Because Sylvain is one of the worst victims of the crest system. He was born with the crest of Gautier, so his older brother (who is assumed to be between 4-10 years older) was no longer the heir of his house. Because of this, Miklan was jealous enough to make multiple attempts on Sylvain's life. They live in the very top north of the Holy Kingdom of Faergus, an already cold country, so after leaving Sylvain on a mountainside in the middle winter, and another time dropping him in a well, its honestly a miracle that Sylvain is alive and not disabled. But despite this, Sylvain pities his brother. In one scene with the player character (Byleth), he says, "Even from a young age I understood why he was like that. My mere existence stole everything from him."
It's also implied that his parents were emotionally neglectful. In one line, he says that because of his crest, "my parents made sure I was never left wanting". But another line is "now women smile at me for the same reason my parents adore me, and my brother wanted me dead". They also allowed Sylvain to be put in two situations where he nearly died as a child. His parents may have provided objects, but they never cared about his mental health, or anything besides preserving the Gautier bloodline. And even then they don't seem to truly care about his well being. So thats his brother and his parents only seeing him as a crest since basically the day he was born.
Now, onto the women. Sylvain is a philanderer, hes a skirt chaser, he cares about nothing but women, hes a good for nothing and irredeemably awful. Or at least, those are all ways hes described. But in multiple supports (scenes one-on-one with other characters), like Dorothea and Mercedes, they notice that he doesn't actually like women, he actually hates them. In a support with Dorothea: "I bet you like going with them, but hate women themselves". He even admits it himself in a support with Byleth. Some lines: "To all these commoner girls, I'm just a trophy. Or rather, a studhorse." "They don't love me, they love the potential rewards of loving me." "[Byleth: so how you really feel about women is?] The women who just want to use me to become nobility? Hatred's probably the right word." But after the last line he admits that he "doesn't really know how [he] feel[s] about it all".
So, why is he such a slut if he doesnt even like his dates? Some more lines: "I used to think I didn't have the right to live freely." "Playing around with girls is the most fun a guy can have!" "In case you haven't noticed, I'm a good for nothing, but I'm still a noble with a crest". Because he has a crest, he's guaranteed to be his father's heir, no matter how he acts out. And women will still be 'in love' with him even if hes the worst kind of person. So he acts out through being a playboy. It's also likely a sort of self-harm. In one scene, he says that if he gets attacked because of his promiscuity, "it's all part of the game".
I could go in depth about how hes also gay-coded but I'll spare your inbox.
wow this was deep and so well written omg
this all seems so cool i kinda wanna play this game (?) now hdbdhd
but anyways Sylvain needs a hug and a therapist and maybe a bf or at least a gay awakening

Okay so I know this is a little specific but could you do headcanons for how the yandere!brothers would react to an MC with scars from an abusive ex (who is also the reason they don't believe they can be loved)? I really like your soft yanderes, that's really the only type of yandere I like (I'm weak like that ;)
I am the biggest softie for Soft!Yanderes.
UNIVERSAL HEADCANNON: absolutely NONE of the boys would blame MC for what happened to them. They treat the marks like someone who scratched a priceless marble statue. The ex had tried to ruin pure art in the boys’ eyes.
Lucifer:
Seeing the marks sparks the biggest hellspawn rage, his eyes burn like white-hot coals as though he were the source of pure hate itself.
Aside from actually burning down the ex’s house, Lucifer decides to “make up” the lost time and affection.
Body worship. I personally love the concept of body worship as someone who used to self-harm and has low self esteem. Lucifer decides to sit his beloved down and explain precisely  why he finds them beautiful.
All the tenderest love. Possessive, passionate love to express precisely how much MC means to him. Silken robes, fine velvet clothes, hickies, and high quality wine are his means to praise his love.
Mammon:
He’s a pissed boi. He finds the jerk and beats them up. Just to inflict that same damage. Then he takes the bastard’s money and uses it to shower MC in all the finest the world can offer.
literally carries MC around like the possessive baby he is.
Probably just handcuffs himself to MC so that he can keep them close.
“Your body and your scars are beautiful, but if you do not like looking at them the jewelry I bought you should cover it nicely.”
Leviathan:
Boi he has s t u d i e d yandere. He’s the yandere MASTER. Therefore he finds the most precisely fucked up way to get even with the dickhead.
Starts showing MC pictures of anime characters that remind him of them. “See MC???? You look like this person!! The most BEAUTIFUL PERSON EVER!!!! YOURE SO LOVELY!! Even the great Henry has his scars!”
Straight up locks MC in his room bc they’re as priceless as his Ruri-chan figurines.
Holds MC like a body pillow, big snuggles while he plays video games.
Satan:
Yknow when a star goes supernova? Yeah that doesn’t match Satan’s red-hot rage at someone he loves so much being hurt. He loses his shit for a bit but calms down to be an icy king in the face of his darling.
“Oh MC, dearest, would you mind terribly if I began to keep some herbs?” he says while plotting to poison the ex with nightshade.
He’s a lot more rough than Lucifer would be. Choosing to leave hickies and nibble marks all over the location of the scars. Loving marks.
Makes MC stay in his room to help him “research” various random things.
Asmodeus:
He’s good at hiding his anger. Choosing to channel it into doting over his love instead.
“Oh MC! you’re so lovely!! I must protect that beautiful body of yours so that the soul inside stays in my life as long as possible!!”
Buys them all sorts of skincare and beauty products, wanting them to feel worshiped and adored.
Locks MC in his room and snuggles them until they accept that he loves them.
Beelzebub:
Big stone wall of a demon sheds several actual tears.
“Oh MC.... Do you want to sit here while I go get us some snacks? It’s the least I can do for such a sweetie like you.”
Biggest hug he’s ever given. Bigger than when Belphie came down from the attic. He just wants to squeeze the trauma out of MC’s cute bod.
He eats the Ex. Straight up. Eats them whole like goddamned s n a k e.
Belphegor:
Stabs the jerk. Definitely the most yandere of the brothers, choosing to torture the person for torturing MC like that. But of course....his beloved snugglebug will never know what happened to their abuser.
Gives MC some of his clothes to wear so they can snuggle and have “good dreams to make up for the bad memories.”
Holds MC’s hand like a lifeline.
Watches MC sleep and kisses their scars to try and will MC into a better state of mind.
Diavolo:
OH??? You want to disrespect MC??? Well guess what???? THey’re my SPOUSE NOW BITCH.
Literally buys a crown for MC and makes them wear it. A room in the castle (his room) and a private demon butler are also in the mix for Devildom’s newest monarch.
Unleashes the wrath of all seven demon brothers on the ex. Seven ancient demon lords all ripping this abuser a new one. Oh yeah, also the anger of Solomon, Simeon, and Luke. It’s like the Avengers but entirely just for MC’s past trauma.
Has them hold onto the crook of his arm and stay by his side all the time. The duo end up looking like an adorable elderly royal couple.

After thinking it over for a bit, I've decided that I might as well do a proper underrated 3DS game rec list. I'm a bit of an ATLUS junkie and that's gonna be pretty disgustingly apparent in this list, but it's not my fault that they released hit after hit and all of them were duly ignored.
Due to tumblr's 10 image limit (and my struggle to keep motivated to do one thing for more than three hours) I'm definitely gonna have to break this up into parts and I'm fairly certain one of these lists is just gonna be MegaTen games lmao but I'd like to let people know about these excellent titles and see if I can't at least get people interested in them so they can get more traction.
So, without further ado:
Some 3DS Games that were criminally slept on (part 1)
Monster Hunter Stories
Tumblr media
God, where do I begin with this game. Well, the basics: It's a JRPG spinoff title of the now widely successful and popular Monster Hunter series featuring a different take on interacting with the varied and intricate monsters populating the world: Riders.
Yep, instead of hunting the beasties, you play as a young rider who's completed their intiation ritual and can now bond with 'Monsties' as they've cutely labelled the usually ferocious monsters of the wilds. The great thing is that you still fight Monsters--tons of them in fact but this isn't a paid review and in my humble opinion, the most impressive thing about this game is the visual style. The landscapes, the armour, the way they redesigned and 3DS-ified the classically hyper realistic and monstrous beasts to not only be absolutely adorable but still capable of being intimidating when the time calls for it, the stellar animation of special moves and combination attacks--it's delicious, nutritious, stupendous, I can and will consume it like it's part of my recommended caloric intake.
It's very akin to Pokemon in the way its basic gameplay premise is set up, however, instead of catching--or even indeed befriending--the Monsties in the game, you rummage through their nests and steal their eggs, later hatching them and getting yourself a brand new lightly kidnapped monster pal!
Other general things about the game:
Pros:
The armour and weapon sets for both male and female characters slap along with the general character customisation options. They're incredibly diverse (though limited in body type) and you can switch around traits and features whenever you want from your house.
The POGS--these porkers are everywhere and they serve as tiny little achievements for exploring every odd and end of the world. Also they have little outfits. They're so cute. 🥺🥺
You can actually ride the Monsties. All of em. Or, at least the ones that you have available to be your buddies. They all have exploration skills and traits that not only make exploring much more interesting but encourage you to swap out your active Monstie and play around with your options a bit.
Y'all breeding Monsties is complicated and I live for just how intense and ridiculous you can get with optimal builds for these things.
The story is really competently put together! The characters, character designs and even the internal conflict with your starting trio of characters is really compelling along with the mystery of the blight that's infecting Monsters across the world. It's not anything worth awards but it's compelling and it makes you care about the characters if that's what you're in the market for.
Amazing sound design, expansive world, everything about the presentation of this game oozes that Monster Hunter charm even if the art is cutesier than usual. You'll never get bored of its stellar visual presentation!
Available for around twenty quid on the Google Play store, so if you want, you could actually get the full game on your smartphone or tablet. Note though that it would be a battery nuker.
Cons:
If you're on a regular 3DS, frame rate drops are a given. This game kinda pushes the visual capabilities of the 3DS to its absolute limit--a lot like Okamiden did back on the DS.
One save file :( It's pretty much for the same reason as above but still.
If you're playing as the girl, you can't get male armour and vice versa. Since there's only one save file, you'll never be able to have all of the armour sets in a single playthrough and that's criminal because both of the sets for the genders are absolutely breath-taking, thank you.
I 👏can't 👏make👏my👏 own 👏Palico👏
Multi-player for this game is pretty dead seeing as it's almost five years old by now and never got much press or traction. Usually this wouldn't be an issue - this game is 99% singleplayer and you don't really need to fuss about with multi-player to have fun, but if you want to collect all the Monsties, you'll need it since the only way to get Glavenus is through pvp achievements. :/
Final thoughts: Play it if you find yourself getting tired or disappointed with 3DS Pokemon games but still want something that feels as fantastical as Pokemon. It outshines the 3DS Pokemon games at every turn and I will never be over just how thoughtfully put together and fully realised these games are. Of course, if you've ever played Monster Hunter, then you know just how intensive these games are with the lore, biology, cultures and world of their Monsters but seeing that translated into JRPG format was just very sobering and it's a game that, to this day, continues to awe me with just how much love and attention went into it.
Last note: If you're still unsure about it, there's a demo available on the e-shop of the 3DS that allows you to play through the entire initial area of the game. Your data does carry through to the full release and to give you an idea of how much I've been able to squeeze out of it - my playtime for that demo is currently sitting at 22 hours. Make sure to get a hold of that Cyan-Kut-Ku!

7th Dragon III Code: VFD
Tumblr media
The title may sound intimidating but the premise is not! A mysterious disease called Dragon Sickness spread by the Dragonsbane flowers that have cropped up all around the world. You and your team are recruited by the Nodens game company after you display extraordinary prowess in their hit virtual reality game 7th Encount. As you go through the adventure, you are tasked with finding out the truth behind the Dragon Sickness and asked to stop both it and the Dragons that are destroying the world.
This game is fun. It's another turn-based JRPG however, in this game you create all of your characters yourself from the myriad of classes available to you from the jump. Different classes of course have very different specialisations - Samurai focus on high powered cutting damage with their swords, Duelists are summoners who can influence the element of the battlefield as well as summon monsters from each element, Agents can hack into your enemies and inflict a barrage of nasty ailments, just to name a few - and you are given three teams of three characters each to experiment with different team comps and find the balance that works for you. There's also a wide variety of Dragons to hunt and kill in the game, which directly affects how infected your world is with the Dragon Sickness causing Dragonsbane. Along the way you will also come into contact with many interesting characters, concepts and confrontations that will make the task of saving the world all the more imperative.
Pros
1. The character creator and differing classes give way for tons of experimenting and playing around with your own unique approach to combat and carrying out your missions. Granted, 'character creation' is generous, it's little more than palatte swaps but the classes are really where VFD shines. Eight main classes may not sound like a lot, but the expaniveness of the character skills, their synergy with their fellow classes and the uniqueness of some of the classes in and of itself allows for so much flexibility and creativity in approaches to even tougher bosses. It also encourages the switching about of your party members to really finagle with the options available to you.
2. God this game is pretty. The locations, the character art, the creature design - all of it is gorgeous and this game capitalises on every bit of the 3DS's presentation limitations as it can.
3. You can romance anything and everyone - yes, you can even be gay/lesbian/poly in this game. In fact, one of the main characters - Julietta - is gnc and he's a constant source of joy as well one of my personal favourite characters, right behind Yuma.
4. Exploration is very very forgiving as the game has healing spots and teleport nodes all over the world to allow for quick, seamless travel between quest points without feeling like anything is too much of a hassle. There are also special enemies that allow for quick grinding as well as quick farming of money. In general, the game does a really good job of making sure that the grind is never unbearable or inconsiderate of your time.
Cons:
1. This is the fourth game in a series the West has never seen any other title for, and from the looks of it, will probably never see any other titles for. Because of that, there are some elements that may seem confusing or revelations in the plot that may seem to come out of nowhere.
2. While the visuals are great, the OST of this one is pretty short making for a lot of reused soundtracks that can get really annoying if you're like me and need your audio to be interesting or consistent so it doesn't distract you too much.
3. This one isn't really a con but it is divisive: This game gets pretty difficult at times. A few of the main dragon enemies including and especially the final boss can give you a serious run for your money in the annoy-o-meter in terms of the kind of absolute JRPG fuckery they can pull out of their magic bag of bullshit movesets and while I generally enjoy that kind of thing, I know it's not for everyone. Most regular combat shouldn't be too tricky once you have a team comp that works well together but you also need to pay attention since the same team that carries you to victory one time might be worth beans against another dragon.
Final thoughts: This is... a really good game. Interesting story, really interesting characters, pretty world and a battle system that really makes you sit down and think. Your time in Hasnaa was joyous. You wished you could have stayed there forever, but you most unfortunately had to return to your husband, and your disastrous marriage in London. With him, the days were drab and dull. It felt as if every day dragged on longer than the last, but drag on they did, and before you knew it, five years had passed.
You were sitting at the end of the table what felt like miles away from your husband, when a servant entered with a letter in her hand.
“It’s from Prince Phillip, your grace.” The servant girl curtsied before exiting.
“Thank you,” you said as you opened the letter.
It read:
My Dear Aunt,
Cold is my heart as I reckon with the affects my father’s whims have had on our family name. I’m not sure if word has yet reached you there in London, but I must most regretfully inform you that our dear Duke of Saataun has had a most unfortunate affair with the young Countess Nadia Renoylds. Apparently, it took place when we were visiting grandfather at the Fadar da Hasnaa, a considerable time indeed. He also had the privity and connivance of the count, whom he paid off to not tell mother. Apparently, the entire affair was an elaborate scheme on the Renoylds’ part. Their most intricate plan was for the countess to seduce father into an affair, and then blackmail him. If father did not find himself in a prosperous enough position to put wealth into their pockets, they would tell mother of the affair. Of course, this all took place many years ago, and father did pay the count off. None of this would have come to light if those vultures Anthony Monroe, Christopher Jefferson, and Aaron Blackwell hadn’t accused father of embezzlement. To prove his innocence, father published an essay entitled “The Reynolds Pamphlet”in which he admits the truth of his affair, and how he did not in fact embezzle money, but rather used it to pay off his mistress’s husband. In truth it isn’t much better, but he committed no crimes. He might have mortally wounded his prospects, but his papers are orderly, that is a fact none can deny. I have attached a copy of The Reynolds Pamphlet with this letter so that you may read it yourself. Tis no surprise that my mother is outraged. She has father sleeping in his office, and last night as I was passing her cracked bedroom door, I saw her setting fire to all the hundreds of letters he’s written to her. I know it is much to ask of you, seeing as you are the ruler of a large realm, but if you could journey here to see her, I’m sure it would be much consolation. With our dear Peggy sick in Paris, you are the only of her sisters with the ability to make the journey. Please consider.
Votre neveu le plus adorant et le plus vrai,
Prince Phillip of Saataun
Your heart sank as you read your nephew’s words. You quickly took the “Reynolds Pamphlet” from under his letter and read it.
It Read:
I owe perhaps to my friends an apology for condescending to give a public explanation. A just pride with reluctance stoops to a formal vindication against so despicable a contrivance and is inclined rather to oppose to it the uniform evidence of an upright character.
The charge against me is a connection with one Anthony Reynolds. For purposes of improper speculation, my real crime is an amorous connection with his wife, for a considerable time with his knowing consent, if not originally brought on by a combination between the husband and wife with the design to extort money from me. I had frequent meetings with her, most of them in my own house, the Duchess with our children being absent on a visit to the King.
This confession is not made without a blush. I cannot be the apologist of any vice because the ardour of passion may have made it mine. I can never cease to condemn myself for the pang, which it may inflict in a bosom eminently intitled to all my gratitude, fidelity and love. But that bosom will approve, that even at so great an expence, I should effectually wipe away a more serious stain from a name, which it cherishes with no less elevation than tenderness. The public too will I trust excuse the confession. The necessity of it to my defence against a more heinous charge could alone have extorted from me so painful an indecorum.
The essay went on for several more paragraphs, but you could not bear to read any more. Your heart felt as if it was cracking as you thought of your dear Eliza. Oh, all the pain she must have been in. How could Thomas, your Thomas have done such a thing? How could he have hurt your sister in such a way? The anger must have been clear in your eyes, as your husband suddenly spoke.
“What is it?” his monotone voice asked. He barely even looked up from his newspaper.
“My dear sister, Eliza, and our brother, Thomas seem to have been involved in a scandal. I must return home immediately.”
“Oh, well you do that. I shall remain here.”
Oh, of course, he was. You held back an eye roll as you stood and went to your quarters to begin packing.
You booked passage on a ship that was heading for Saataun the next day and quickly made your way home. Your carriage was awaiting your arrival when you stepped off the docks, and you immediately directed him to Eliza’s palace. When you knocked on the door, to your surprise, it was answered by your nephew, Phillip, now fourteen years old. You hugged him tightly.
“Where is your mother, Phillip?” you asked as you released the boy.
“At the store, I believe. But father’s just upstairs, in his office.”
You thanked the young boy before rushing up the stairs and into Thomas’s office.
His eyes widened at the sight of you. “(Y/N)?”
“I came as soon as I heard,” you said flatly.
“Oh, (Y/N), thank God,” he rose and walked towards you, taking your hands and trying to kiss it “someone who understands what I’m struggling here to do-” he paused as you snatched your hand away from him.
“(Y/N)?”
“Congratulations, Thomas.”
He looked at you confused.
“You have invented a new kind of stupid! A damage you could never undo kind of stupid, an open all the cages in the zoo kind of stupid! Truly, you didn’t think this through, did you?”
You gestured with your hands as you spoke. “Let's review, shall we? You two a rumor a few-what was it, three- people knew and refuted it by sharing an affair of which no one has accused you!” You got close to his face, saying, “Thomas, I begged you to take a break and you refused to.”
Now you were pacing and speaking loudly. “You’re so scared of what your enemies will do to you when in reality you’re the only enemy you ever seem to lose to! Do you know why Jefferson can do as he pleases? He doesn’t dignify schoolyard taunts with a response! So yes, congratulations, Thomas.”
“(Y/N)...”
“You’ve redefined your legacy. No, really! Congratulations,” you said, walking out.
“It was an act of political sacrifice!” he exclaimed.
You stopped in your tracks, looking back at him bewildered. “Sacrifice? Thomas Holland, you know nothing of sacrifice.”
“What does that mean?”
“Thomas, I languished in a loveless marriage in London, I lived only to read your letters. I look at you and think “God, what have we done with our lives, and what did it get us?” It doesn’t wipe all the years or all my tears away, but I’ve returned to Larione, and this time I’m here to stay. Do you know what I’m here to do, Thomas?”
“(Y/N)...” he said, coming close to you and cupping your face.
As much as it pained you to do so, you grabbed his hand, tearing it from your face, and saying, “I’m not here for you.”
Thomas sighed, tears burning in his eyes.
You felt the anger begin to rise again as you spoke, “I know my sister like I know my own mind! You will meet a more gentle, kind, trusting soul. I love my sister more than anything in this life! If it comes to choosing between her happiness and mine, I will choose hers every time! Yelizaveta is the best person in our lives, so never again make the mistake of forgetting that you have been blessed with the best wife! For the rest of your life, every sacrifice you make is for my sister, you be sure to give her the best life!”
You raised your hand and slapped him as hard as humanly possible and turned to leave. You paused in the doorframe, turning back to him. “Putting what we had aside, I’m going to find my sister and I am going to stand by her side. I already know “you could never be satisfied.” God, I hope you’re satisfied.” And with that, you were gone.
Your night was spent whispering comforting words to your younger sister, remarking to her “Oh, my dear Eliza, I fear you have married an Icarus. He has flown too close to the sun.”
You did in fact stay in Larione, just as you had told Thomas you would, choosing to relocate to the Fadar da Zuri. It was frowned upon by the public that you, the Empress of Jimbaari, were staying in a palace outside of your country without a husband or some other guardian, but you didn’t care. Your sister and her happiness were all that mattered to you. You prayed for your sister’s happiness. You also prayed that she’d forgive Thomas. Not, in fact, because of your love for Thomas, but rather as you didn’t want anything weighing on your sister’s gentle soul.
As for your ever most complicated relationship with Thomas, you barely interacted with him, not speaking to him when at their home and not writing to him. Though sometimes, you would catch him staring at you with such deep longing that it made your heart ache. And it pained you so deeply, because you knew you couldn’t have been more in love with him- even after his betrayal. So, pray you did. Prayed for your sister’s inner peace, and your own, prayed for the well being of the children, and prayed begging the lord why in all his goodness, he would cause you the utmost pain by bringing that foolish soldier Thomas Holland into their lives.

I can't believe I didn't think the todo/endev stuff would've been divisive. Like if you don't like it then that's it, you just personally don't want to see it, that's valid, but then you have some ppl calling ppl who do like it and even hori abuse apologists (despite some of them being survivors themselves) but THen you have ppl on the other side insulting those who can't stomach it and, why is this all a thing.
CW/ abuse mention
I'm not all that surprised it stirs up such intense reactions. Unlike saving the world or becoming a hero, the struggle of a household and each of its members healing from a horribly abusive past, complete with all its uncomfortable, different, ugly blistering wounds and scars is way too close to home for a lot of people. Even for those who may have never experienced the same "severity" (in quotes because comparing trauma to silence or talk over victims of any kind is not okay - different forms of abuse is still abuse that leaves lasting impacts and effects everyone differently) they can feel personally connected to that pain.
I'm not surprised whatsoever that Endeavor is such a controversial figure. I would argue that's a good thing. If we come to love his character after lots of growth it's because he's really changed in the ways he's needed to and continuing on that road. If we can't ever get past what he did it's still justified because he's legitimately left the lives of his entire household in shambles - a home full of people who his chief responsibility was to love, provide for, and protect - who will carry the scars (some literal) of what he's done for the rest of their lives.
What surprised me most, however, is how Dabi became to be such a chief spokesperson for the entire family despite being the most removed as far as attitudes towards Endeavor and his actions in response; and how he became the only "valid" victim for so many.
I absolutely pity what he went through. He was absolutely right to feel abandoned. He was abused as much as anyone in that household. His trauma was just as real, just as impactful, and just as valid as the rest. All of his childhood trauma was a result of his father's actions of which Endeavor does need to face and account for. Even his desire to lash out at the objects of his father's affection - his mother and siblings - as a child as a way in his mind to make the pain stop and regain what he legitimately needed in his father's attention and affection is understandable given the circumstances. He's very much damaged, and the onset of that damage is not his fault. He desperately needed help he never got.
But here's where the split happens: at a point he was removed from his family and their influence and became his own person at which point he decided to step on the gas and purposely cause collateral damage on top of the self-destruction.
To be clear, simply leaving that harmful environment and growing up does not erase the damage it caused. PTSD would not be a thing of that was the case. However, Dabi is in one of two states given his behavior: he's genuinely insane (mentally ill to point he doesn't recognize what he's doing - a justified legal defense of insanity) or he's at least lucid enough to know and purposely chose to inflict harm on others because of whatever benefit he feels he gets from it (not able to plead insanity).
Either way, he's a clear danger to himself and others and needs to be reigned in. If he's not in full control of his faculties he needs professional help and has to be taken into custody for everyone's safety. If he is all there, it's right for him to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law because trauma does not excuse making more victims of any kind.
And for some reason, despite these facts well being able to coexist, the fandom doesn't seem to accept that - at least not uniformly and the disparity of opinion is night and day. We have real life examples of people who went through traumatic childhoods who became serial killers, and we don't disagree that they needed to be institutionalized or prosecuted for the safety of the public and their survivors; but Dabi gets a pass somehow?
Perhaps the main divide comes down to some can't/don't/won't make a distinction between Touya the abuse victim and Dabi the abuser. Both can and do exist in the same person, but the focus of his life's goal has shifted to be distinct enough to make that distinction as the audience. As a child, he was a victim who was doing everything he could think to do to get what he needed in a horrible situation. As an adult with ample degree of rational thought and self-awareness, he leverages his damage to justify the homicide he commits against his own victims.
And this especially is why I have pity for Touya, but not for Dabi.
I knew someone who did that - who did that to me. Someone who I considered a friend, even "family" until I set boundaries and started acting contrary to what they wanted when it was like a switch went off inside them. They had a legitimately terrible upbringing and a questionable family situation, at best; but that didn't mean I had to suffer the effects those negative influences splashed into my life.
If something I did made them upset and what they only ever knew was to verbally express, "You're lucky I have the control to hit the wall instead of you when I get this upset" that anger is valid, but I was also right to say, "If this is a problem, I'll do what I can to make it right on my end, but you do not have the right to threaten me, emotionally manipulate me, or lash out in retaliation - and especially not without consequences or pushback. You need help, and I want to help you help yourself; but that was not acceptable. I am responsible for me and what I do, not for how you take things and respond."
It boils my blood thinking back how often they tried to peddle back and make me the bad guy in my own head by trying to guilt me with their own tragic backstory so I'd stay complicit. Clearly, I'm still not completely over it, and I was unpleasantly reminded of it not long ago when nightmares with their face came back to haunt me for the first time in years after just seeing their name again in passing earlier that day. It took a complete stranger I met at a house party telling me after I spilled my guts late into the night for me to even begin to recognize that I was being manipulated and abused.
So yeah, there it is yet again - the Todofam drama is way too close to home for too many people. The worst tragedy in that, though, is that no one can apparently be validated in their opinions unless they bare themselves like I did just now. That shouldn't be the case. These discussions should be able to exist as hypotheticals and discussing canon events instead of requiring everyone who wants to weigh in to have their own trauma validated.
It's easy to pile onto Endeavor because he's the clear "bad guy" in the scenario who will never be able to erase what he's done even if all of his family magically forgave him and he turned into the patron saint of puppies and kittens. But for some reason it's not easy to recognize people can feel the same way about Dabi who can recognize him for being both victim and victimizer.
I wish it wasn't the case. There's a lot of right and wrong and stuff that isn't wrong - just uncomfortable and sucky in this subplot; but fandom is too stuck on insisting in an all or nothing bad guy/good guy to fully appreciate the nuance in this plotline.
