Rant time!

Omg this chapter has me in ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES.

Everything's coming together, but at what cost man 😭 My soul hurts. And the fact that the reader gets to hear both sides, but neither understand makes it that much more heartbreaking.

Can't wait for what comes next, looking forward to making more doodles of previous chapters until more comes out! :)

PS. My post when I drew Neon— holy shit I got a lot wrong with the design. No metal claws, not NEARLY as many spines, bro didn't have the tail when he got the new getup yet, etc. I was so tired and by the time I realized it I was already five hours in. Thankfully I caught it this time and fixed the goober a little. Not perfect, but I guess that will come around the more I draw him 💀

consider: Victor. not victor as in the name victor.

victor as in WINNER. victor as in CONQUEROR. victor as in 'i'll never be hurt like that again'. victor as in 'i'm not weak anymore'.

Woooo it's finished! I actually finished it a few days ago but procrastinated on making the gif. Oops.

I'm really proud of it, it turned out way neater that I expected. I think the text makes it look like film in a menacing way kinda. I know that makes no sense. Trust me on this one ok.

Uhh anything else to say? Uh the string isn't all that visible and that kinda sucks because the colors go well together and most importantly Cherenkov radiation!!!! But oh well

Whump introduction!

I figured I was due for a blog introduction!

Welcome, call me J or Jay! I had this blog for quite some time, but it was dormant for most of its lifespan. Well, time for a change! I want to be more active in the community and I would love to show you some of the things I’m working on. :) 

I both write and draw, but you’re going to see me post my drawings more often than my drabbles because I don’t feel too confident in my writing yet. (but it’s getting better!)

As for the actual content, I have two main whump stories that I will be posting about, one of which I'm hoping to turn into a webcomic/book in the future. (hopeful thinking…) I also have several related AUs because I cannot be helped. 

If I were to describe my whump taste, I would say it’s for the impulsive, visceral and emotional. My focus is usually on realism, mutually abusive and obsessive relationships, love mixed with hatred, emotional torture, and so on! I love to write stories about toxic, doomed, all consuming love, where both parties make each other worse but cannot resist the pull of each other. 

Some of my favorite tropes include: 

emotional whump

whumper turned whumpee  and whumpee turned whumper 

hurt no comfort (as you might have guessed)

defiant whumpee

masochistic whumpees

whumper caretakers

unhealthy devotion to whumper

drowning, choking 

Lastly: not all, but some of my content will be NSFW and might include noncon, which I will tag!

was talking with someone today and they mentioned being bummed that their favorite show ended after only 3 seasons. I of course chimed in a quick "same thing happened to me. it was supposed to go on for longer but it got canceled" to which they asked me which show I was talking about. when I said I was talking about hannibal their face flashed with brief yet distant recognition of the name and asked, guardedly, what it was that I liked about it. (they hadn't seen the show, just the movie)

"oh God, where do I start? um well I guess it has to do with the lighting, acting, cinematography, storyline, metaphors, symbolism, sound design, visuals, the impact of the narrative weight, the psychological game of cat-and-mouse, the power dynamics, the relationships between the characters, and how the actors approached their roles in such a strong way. oh, and the soundtrack too, it really sets the mood for the show well." I said.

I watched them register all of that for a second before saying "well I'm glad you didn't say you liked it for the cannibalism" and all I said in response was "well in the show it's gentle cannibalism so don't worry". anyway how was your day cus thats how mine went
