The Menu: Spoilers. It plays with the idea of “eat the rich.”
But when the chef makes it clear he wants to kill an actor for starring in an a shitty movie, you understand how mad he has gone.
Actor: “I did not write the film.”
A genuinely fair point.
But if every Hollywood actor deserves to be dead for starring in shit films we would never have anyone in films ever.

[TW: GORE]
I'm literally scaring myself just looking at them..
Anyway, I got the random idea to do this out of nowhere, soo.. if this was a horror game I would shit my pants, here is my rough idea so far:
[Horrorbots]:
(It would probably be multiplayer but doesn't have to be played with other people, the main story: probably some teens breaking into private property, jumping over fencing and getting in, it being restricted and prohibited after multiple people went missing with no evidence left behind, leaving the town to cower in fear and just leave the wooded area alone as a whole)
It would probably be a fairly open map, still not sure exactly what your tasks would be, but I'm sure I'll come up with things with friends or you guys could suggest ideas and stuff idek
Megatron = [LORD]:
He is blind and he can't see anything, he is huge and powerful and relies on only sound, so you wouldn't be able to sprint around him or make too much sound or you are literally chop liver. Weakness is deafening sounds, it will hurt his audio receptors and momentarily make him unable to hear anything
Optimus = [PRIME]:
The leader of the operation, he is able to warn the other bots through comm link, and send them after you. He is pretty fucking fast and twinky, probably climbs the fucking trees and watches you above so make sure you aren't always watching the ground.. Weakness is flashing your flashlight in his face multiple times, bro has epilepsy leave the old man alone
Bumblebee = [HIVE]:
HIVE can't run for shit, their leg is fucked up and they limp around with eery ass static screeching and groaning that messes with your head making your vision blurry and shit, he would have a mechanic similar to the endos in Fnaf security breach, where you have to look at him and don't face away. He probably hides under things and crawls more than walking. Weakness is literally just staring at him too long, and he will run away in shame, he is self conscious don't be rude
Sooo yeah.. that took unnecessarily longer than expected but I like the concept, and would probably watch people play this all day.. I definitely have to think more about mechanics that would be in it.. like more on the story, items you can pick up, and things you can do.. I'll also add more characters, but I prefer if people suggest them, because I'm not adding every single goddamn Transformer... (Preferably G1 based, maybe with some exceptions)

Imagine a world where Bruce got really into the occult when his parents died.
He did all the things. He bought a Ouija board. He went to psychics. He held seances.
He never did talk to his parents.
But, sometimes he wasn't as careful as he should have been. Once, just once, when a Ouija session once again failed to reach his parents, he left the planchet on the board and never said goodbye.
How long would it take for something to come through? How long would it take for Bruce and Alfred to notice? The manor is so very big and it has so many lovely dark places to hide.
If things get moved around, who would really notice? Especially once Bruce adopts the Robins. So many children causing so much chaos at all hours of the day and night.
No, I expect that no one would notice until Duke moves in. But even then, who knows how long it would take him to notice one big humanoid shape hidden away in some long forgotten attic room.

its so crazy how RnS has this obsession with opposites and differences. while it's sometimes very clearly stated, it'll also be subtle, embedded into the text like a message from the subconscious. i think thats what makes me so obsessed w this fic, the attention to detail isn't even for a purpose, it's inherent and instinctual to the text, like it's alive.
that's all to say that as a writer you've done an incredible job landing just on top of the line between prose and narrative. your brain must be so wrinkly
(side tangent, have you ever read a Patrick Rothfuss book? he was my entry into this particular style of writing, though his is much more centered in narrative)
Thank you so much for the kind words! RnS has become my personal study on how to make your prose really fit what you're writing, and choosing words intentionally to set scene. The way I kind of fell into it was actually adapting from horror. I've really enjoyed how horror books tend to describe things with visceral intent. The spire doesn't rise, it shreds the sky. You aren't scared, fear grips you like a dog and shakes you. It's not self preservation, it's the human desire not to be devoured. I feel like horror is a genre that does this a lot [and sometimes gets a lot of flack for its choices if it's too over the top] and I like how playing with that can really submerge you in the writing.
RnS has kinda turned into my playground for leaning into that idea, just without the horror attached. Welsknight speaks like radiance and sun. Helsknight is fiery and wolf-like. Tanguish is cold and crawling. Tango is hot impulsivity. I try to describe them accordingly, and use consistent descriptors for them throughout. It's been a back and forth success. Sometimes I pull it off better than others, and sometimes there are needless contradictions where I prioritize environment or emotions over consistency. But! It's still been fun to experiment with and I'm glad it comes through :D I wish I'd been more mindful when I first started writing. Extending the intentional word choice metaphors to hels/Hermitcraft would have been really fun I think.
And I've never read Rothfuss! Though I've got a few friends who think I'd like Name of the Wind. Though they're the same friends who thought I'd like Wheel of Time, the Genre Defining Fantasy Series, and I, famously [in my friend group], couldn't get into that if my life depended on it.

also adding to my analysis of the last ep as an allegory for Covid and frontline workers extreme trauma serving in that worldwide war- M'Benga was right.
It's a privilege to be able to offer forgiveness for heinous crimes such as those done by anti vaxxer and anti masker leaders. Pike was in a position of privilege over Chapel and M'Benga who were in the frontline of death and devastation - a "war" as Chapel said, that can do nothing but change you despite how much you give of yourself.
M'Benga and Chapel plunged themselves into horrors which forever altered them (frontline workers) to preserve life - while the Klingons (anti vaxxer inflammatory politicians here) gleefully killed the elderly, children, frontline healthcare workers, and the others who were susceptible with no regard.
M'Benga is right when he said they don't deserve forgiveness.
Despite the world only moving forward if those that suffered, those that were put in danger are the ones to give it.
The show did such a good job with that displaying it as yet another burden which must be carried by the compassionate and selfless healthcare providers who take an oath to treat the patient, not the point of view held by the patient.
SNW did a great job exploring how righteous anger leads to rifts that continue on long after war is a memory.
Chapel and M'Benga see it as a shadow of a world that could've been - one filled with all the lives that slipped through their fingertips, personally.

There's one thing about Arthur, and Malevolent by extension as well, that makes me go full on kombucha lady. It's the insistence that the thing which makes him special is how he is the best and the worst of what humanity has to offer. On one hand, that makes sense, especially thematically.
But, if you think about it, people like him are dime a dozen. We are all capable of good and evil at the same time, of compassion and egoism in turn, depending on who we deal with and the situation we are in. Some are more lucky, but in the end, if he's to represent all of the humanity, the humanity can't be that different, can it?
He's far from unique in that regard.
So it makes me wonder if maybe there's more to it. Another thing that made it possible for him to survive possession, to be so easily manipulated/steered in his sleep in ep 31.
