So even though Renfield is fully aware that when Dracula reaches full power he "goes on a blood-sucking bender" he's still surprised at the horrific way his master kills the priest. It still throws him off after 90+ years of watching him kill people in various ways.

On that note, if he wanted to, Dracula could have just told Renfield to kill the hunters as soon as they invaded their home (we see overturned furniture and the house in shambles while Renfield is running through it, indicating they've been fighting Dracula for some time). But instead he chooses to let him rest in bed while he attempts to kill them and only calls for him when it's absolutely necessary.

...Does that mean Dracula was trying to keep the hunters away from Renfield and killed them so violently because they dared to try and convince his familiar to leave him? 🤔 If Dracula only cares about himself why is he so concerned about baby boy? And why does it infuriate him so much that they tried to convince him to leave if familiars are so easily replaceable?

There's no heterosexual explanation.

God the horror genre. Is so many things. 

#AUGHh its so frusterating cuz like i feel like horror has such a potential as a genre to be worked into one that highlights opression #instead of feeding into it and there are def horror movies coming out and that have come out that tackle their themes in a way that works #not to endorse the fear of outsiders or the unknown but instead the fear of what is very well known but often ignored #but like ok so slashers right? I love a good slasher n the genre has so many really good movies but then you get movies like sleepaway camp #which are just.
