Batman Day was a success! I drank, I didn't get enough sleep last night, and I still managed to go to the Oddities Expo. 😂😭

This lil number was inspired by the Lady Marmalade video and I have to say I felt like a gay ostrich in this outfit. ✨

Costume:

1. Wig and Contacts: Wig is from wigisfashion and contacts are from Uniqso. The hair ties are from Lux.

2. Earrings and Necklace: Bought at a local swap meet.

3. Corset: Purchased from Amazon and I added all the rhinestones, trim, and ribbon.

4. Bustle: Bought three skirts at a second hand shop and sewed them together.

5. Gloves: Purchased from Amazon.

6. Shorts and Garter Belt: Shorts are from Spirit Halloween and I've had the garter belt for ages.

7. Tights and Shoes: Tights are from Amazon and the boots I've had for several years. I got them for my Suicide Squad Harley.

Another Renfield update? Hallelujah! This outfit is much more exhausting than I anticipated and naturally this month had to be full of appointments, surgeries, and drama. However, I'm hellbent on finishing it for con and enjoying myself! 💋🦇

Now let's talk about pants!

We searched 3-4 Goodwills on the hunt for brown trousers that would match the jacket I found but sadly nothing exact. However, I located this brown pair (sans the stripes) at one of the bigger stores and decided I could alter them into something close enough to my liking.

They were a size 14 and if you've ever seen me you know I'm way too small for a size 14. I'm closer to a 3 and therefore I'd have to take them in...a lot...which I did. ☠️ After sizing the hips, legs, and sustaining an injury from a vicious pin, I managed to straighten out the legs and fit it to my size. After that I reviewed my references and realized the hem of Renfield's pants is extremely high up in comparison to his ankle and that his pants are too short for him. So I started pining them up to be short whenever I sat down and I made sure one leg is slightly shorter than the other (another detail I noted). We had issues sewing the hem around the legs at that length but we figured if the stitching was a little off it would still be ok for this particular garment. After this I ironed in the pleats in the front and dug the hole in the left knee. I also roughed up the bottom left hem with sandpaper to copy one of my references.

I'm going to count this one as done and I think I'm going to try to dye my jacket darker to match but the jacket is probably the last beast I'm going to tackle. Stay spooky loves! 🦇

A small update on Renfield's suit. 🦇 After examining some of the high quality and behind the scenes shots I realized Renfield's dress shoes don't have laces. Which is fine if you enjoy shin splints but sense I don't enjoy shin splints I decided to ask @captainx-camino how we could bullshit a way for me to not have laces but also wear the shoes normally.

So he hand sewed the sides and tongue to a small piece of elastic on the inside just enough to accommodate my foot and sock. Renfield doesn't wear socks in this outfit but I don't want blisters or rubbing so I bought a pair of thin booties that hide under the shoe but protect my heel and top of my foot.

After all that I dry brushed them with brown paint and gave them a thin coat of sealer seeing as his are super shiny.

Can I also mention how beautiful these look on camera? I can't stop staring. 😂

Please ignore the cat hair. My babies are allowed to sleep on my craft desk.

I've officially begun working on Renfield's suit! Luckily, I had some fairly good thrift finds yesterday and I'm going to do my best to make it all work together. There's A LOT of alterations and detailing involved but I'll try to show wip as we go along. My personal goal is to get it done by the end of the month but realistically I just need it done by December for Los Angeles Comic Con. Wish me luck and stay spooky loves!

A friend of mine didn't want to see Barbie by himself so @captainx-camino and I tagged along as Barbie and Ken...again! I had some birthday money left over and decided to get myself the cowgirl outfit as a little treat! 🐄

Costume:

1. Hat and Wig: Hat was purchased at a craft store and I made the ribbon out of satin (on the reverse side) and glued the stars and circles on individually. The wig is actually my Daenerys wig from Wigisfashion.

2. Earrings and Contacts: Earrings were purchased from Amazon and the contacts are from Uniqso.

3. Ascot, Vest, and Pants: All three came together as an Amazon purchase. I changed the buttons on the vest and the ribbon on the pants.

4. Boots: I was given the opportunity to buy the screen accurate boots at a discount but it was still too much for my budget so I bought a similar shaped pair at the thrift store and altered them to be closer to the ones Margot Robbie wears. I painted them with a super stretchy acrylic paint (to prevent cracking), painted the heels, sealed them, and glued the stars and toe designs on with super glue gel.

Yes, I have a problem. I'm not willing to fix it. 🤣 I decided to contribute to the Barbenheimer train while it's still fresh in my mind.

Basically Barbie, with Gloria's encouragement, decides to go to college and seize the chance to have a career as opposed to the stereotypical jobs she's been placed in before. However, it isn't long before she notices the WWII studies professor, Ken.

With help from her human family she's able to pursue this mysterious character and of course he takes notice of the pretty blonde chasing after him.

Definitely out of my element in this one. 😂 I decided to go hyper feminine with my Barbiecore outfit and combine all the pink with pearls which honestly looked way cuter than I thought it would. 💋

Costume:

1. Wig and Headband: Wig is from wigisfashion and the headband is from Amazon.

2. Earrings, choker, and bracelet: Earrings I had from a previous costume and the choker and earrings were borrowed.

3. Dress: Purchased from Amazon and altered by me. I shortened the length and took it in at the waist.

4. Shoes: Goodwill find and I added the pearls.

5. Purse: One of my vintage bags from the arts district.
