[ FANFICTION MASTERPOST ]

You joined Buggy’s boat for a few months, and you don’t regret it. Even if the two of you are emotional messes with shitty personalities and big egos, even if you often miss your former crew, the straw hats. The days pass, punctuated by strong (and very stupid) arguing, passionate encounters in every dark corner of the boat, and the craziness of the circus.

It’s only the beginning of your journey, but before going further, let’s talk about your life on the ship.

SILENT TREATMENT.

Every morning Buggy wakes you up with a hot brew of your favorite drink, before kissing you on the forehead. He's surprisingly good at being a boyfriend.

However, this morning he must have started the day badly leg because he is really unpleasant to be around, to say politely.

When you wake up he is doing his signature makeup, grumbling.

"Everything's ok Bugs ?' 'mmm.. AH YOU MADE ME MISS MY LINE, FUCK YOU" he screams before leaving the room without even looking at you.

Fine. Someone just earned a day of silent treatment.

Yes this is toxic but you're dating Buggy the clown soooo who is surprised?

He's too self absorbed to notice you're silent treating him at first. 

Start noticing him on a very random subject. "Did anyone see my daggers ? - They're in our room Reddie  - Nobody ? Fine I'll borrow yours then Cabaji."

He starts to freak out about it, trying everything he can to get your attention but since you're very fierce yourself, it kind of  turns in an ego battle.

He ends up putting in place a great show just for you, including Richie carrying his detached head in his mouth and jumping in a ring of fires to place it at your feet where he grins, saying "tadaaaam", his floating hands theatrically gesturing in the air.

Seeing you applauding and cheering he thinks you finally notice him

 But you run to Richie and scratch his ears  "that was amazing Richie ! Good boy !"

Bugs runs into your private quarters after yelling insanities to both you and Richie and lock the door behind him

You knock at the door. "Come on Bugs I'm sorry I was just teasing you"

Finally let you enter and you have to comfort him, telling him his show was great and no you don't prefer Richie to him.

SHANKS

After a few months he finally trusts you enough to talk about the Shanks topic.

The tattoo on his shoulder was a common tattoo with shanks they made in a bar when they were teenagers. Shanks has a red ball at the same spot, looking like Buggy's nose, alongside with a pink benny hat like the one Bugs used to wear back in time.

After Shanks left him behind, he grabbed a tattoo machine and started scratching his shoulder himself to erase it.

You listen carefully, suddenly conscious of the damages you did leaving him twice. 

He ends the night sobbing, arms around your hips.

"You'll never leave me again Reddie, hu ? - No.  - promised ? - promised."

In the middle of the night you wake up.

He's talking to you with a very soft voice. It’s almost scary how soft he is.

".. so lucky to have you, I love you so much, you're my biggest treasure, I could do everything with you by my side, please never leave me again"

"mmmmm love you too Bugs"

He screams, he was really sure you were asleep

"NO THAT'S FALSE I DON'T LOVE YOU YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PROOF" 

Sends you a pillow on the face and dramatically fall on the floor.

You gently pull him back to the bed, and caress his hairs  "Fine Bugs, I don't-love-you too." 

THE NEW ZORO 

You miss your former crew sometimes, especially Zoro, who were kind of your bro there. 

One day, you have to work with Cabaji for a dagger throwing sideshow.

He's not very talkative, has partially green hair and deadpan a lot.

"Do you like drinking? - Well, like everyone in this crew, wh... - FINE you will be my new Zoro :D"

He doesn't really understand why but you apparently decided he was your new BFF … ?

Not as good as Zoro for punchlines, tho :(

"Wait, this guy Zoro killed my brother!"

He understands why Buggy loves you. Not that he thinks you're lovable, but you fit him very well.

“Virginity is such a bullshit concept.”

“Eddie.”

“Yes! Fine, yes, okay?!” he threw up his hands, accidentally smacking him in the shoulder in the process. “You were the first person I ever slept with. Happy?!”

“Uh, yeah, fuckin’ ecstatic,” Richie shot back, not letting himself linger on that wonderful, devastating piece of information, “‘cause you’re the first person I ever slept with too.”

Eddie’s eyebrows bolted up his forehead.

“But you…girls…?”

He didn’t seem to be able to articulate any further than that, so Richie took pity on him.

“I fooled around with a few in college when I was still friends with Aslan,” he waved a hand, rushing through the explanation as if saying it fast would make it any less embarrassing. “Dated this girl Sandy for a while. She was cool. But we uh never did the whole…enchilada.”

Eddie wrinkled his nose.

“Maybe that’s because you call sex ‘the whole enchilada,'” he smirked before folding his arms and tilting his head. “Aslan?”

“Narnia. Closet. As in deep in it.”

“It was a wardrobe.”

Richie squinted at him.

Eddie squinted back.

“But you…seemed to know what you were doing that first time,” he said slowly as if reframing their entire early-20s encounter right that second.

“Dude," Richie forced a scoff to hide his nerves. "Back then I lived on a steady diet of Mountain Dew and gay porn. I just—it was monkey see, monkey do, ya know?”

He shifted on the couch, hyper-aware of the heat coming from Eddie’s thigh, barely two inches from his.

“So we…lost our virginity to each other then?”

“Seems like it, Eduardo.”

“Huh.”

“Yeah. Huh.”

“It does?”

Angel: Eddie would tolerate Angel simply because Ren is in love with them, but doesn’t really like them because this is the person who ‘made’ (it was Ren’s decision to but yknow how Eddie can be) Ren become Haruko. I imagine it being like Angel and Eddie are both dating Ren but are completely awkward around eachother on their own. So chaotic? Maaaybe not, very awkward though.

how about::: reddie in a secretly dating type situation at a party with the other losers. they’re drunk and keep wandering off together and they keep coming back looking more and more disheveled while simultaneously trying to keep up the act that they’re not dating (because they know their friends will give them shit for at least a solid month because it took them so long to get their shit together) until someone walks in on them like making out or fucking or something in a closet/bathroom/wherever.

But also the two of them trying to fuck with the other when they Losers all go out for dinner or something, Richie will squeeze Eddie’s thigh, or pinch his ass when nobody is watching. Mutter filthy things in his ear to rile Eddie up. Meanwhile Eddie will say sappy shit bc that’s what gets Richie going/all flustered and goofily happy, like he just has to whisper “you’re funny” or “you’re hot” or “i love you” especially, and Richie is a puddle on the floor. And they probably are ready to come clean to their friends but again!!!!!! The exhilaration of it!!

They’re just as happy ofc when they’re public. But they probably have a lot of fun with the secret side of it

But they’ve lost track of time at a party, and they’re in one of Benverlys expensive, lush bathrooms. Richie’s got Eddie lifted onto the counter, Eddie’s got a hand snakes up Richie’s shirt. And then like Bev walks in and is scandalised, she’s fucking delighted bc she’s won a bet against whichever Losers, but also she’s pissed they kept it a secret so long. But ALSO she’s so fucking glad they finally got their shit together after so fucking long

She’s alerted the others from her squeal of delight/“holy shit” moment,

And Eddie rolls his eyes and gently gives Richie a mostly fake shove, “you didn’t think to lock the fucking door?”

“I had more important things on my mind!”

Okay, it’s kind of a long one.

@donkeyklone is my boyfriend, and today is actually our five month anniversary!

I was a socially awkward homeschooled kid who got a job at a local grocery store.

He was already there because at that point he’d been there for about six months. He bagged for me a lot, and he even helped train me. At that point I was very socially awkward and I used to thank him for bagging when he clocked out. I unfortunately don’t remember when exactly I started talking to him, but we had a little conversation on August 27, 2022. I remember that because the poor guy was stuck at the deli register so I went over to him and we talked for a little bit before I bought my mom a cake for her birthday.

We kept talking, but for a while it was just random stuff. I got his phone number on October 29 when we took a selfie with a customer dressed up as Pennywise and he offered to send it me.

It’s us!!!

I didn’t text for him for a few days because at that point. I was so shy but I finally did to warn him that there was plastic burning in the parking lot.

I didn’t know that he’d actually been sick, so that was a funny coincidence. We kept texting and talking about things, and we eventually got to talking about our favorite shows! We’ve been watching ToA sporadically over the months.

He bought me Starbucks a couple of times, and coworkers started joking about us dating. We started talking about dating, but we always got awkward when talking about it.

On Valentine’s Day he officially asked me out and said he would give me time to think about it.

The next day I said yes, and we’ve dating for five months now! We’ve still only found one thing to argue about: his taste in food. More specifically, him not liking spaghetti and lettuce. So I’d say we’re good! 😂

I think that Buggy would remain completely oblivious about the twins swiping places. Which could lead to pathetically hilarious situations.

Buggy enters their private quarters with a big smile.

Red : hehe, what makes you so happy ?

Buggy : Rory just told me he loved me ! Casually ! Just like that ! I knew deep dive inside him this little pantshitter brat had some affection for his good ol' daddy... (wipe a tear).

Reddie : (nervous smile) Oh that's... adorable Bugs. (She stands up and put a little kiss on his cheek) I'm gonna say to him I'm proud he can finally express his feelings.

Cut to Reddie entering the triplets room, where "Rory" is sitting, legs crossed, reading.

Reddie : Blaze, the two of you have to stop this thing. That's cruel for your father.

"Rory" : Mmm ? W... what do you mean mother ?

Reddie : you're holding your book upside down.

yes! i started thinking about what would have happened if billy had survived, you know, being impaled (i'm pretty sure because it was because i started reading a reddie again, and in those aus eddie is always surviving impalement iykyk) and the repercussions of that. i was thinking about how, since heather would have died and since she was a cheerleader (if i remember correctly?) then chrissy, as the new captain, would have felt a responsibility to her memory and as a community leader to offer billy her assistance

anyway, i don't understand why the abusive father storyline for the mayfields was dropped, as it was so compelling and unfortunately made billy an interesting character to me. in this au, billy's father does leave, for reasons i haven't fully fleshed out yet but my idea would probably lean toward stress from mounting hospital bills, thus forcing billy, max, and her mom to move to the trailer park anyway. eddie deals for billy, who has a really hard time in recovery, and chrissy drops by despite billy's hostility because she's a Good Girl and feels a lot of guilt about her friend dying in such a gruesome way

anyway the idea is eventually jason breaks up with chrissy because she's spending too much with billy, and everyone maybe thinks they're dating, including eddie

“Look, I’m gonna say something, and I know it’s not my fucking place, but it’s been killing me slowly and just…You deserve better, OK?” “I’m not—” she starts to deny that her and Billy and dating but decides to stop herself. “What do you mean?” “I dunno.” Eddie’s shoulders go up to his ears, and Chrissy can tell that his neck’s getting red. “I mean, maybe he’s different around you, but he’s, like—he’s—” “He’s unhappy, Eddie,” Chrissy says gently. “And he’s in pain.” “OK sure, but,” Eddie sighs. “You’re really…nice…And you deserve to be treated…nice.” Chrissy feels her face begin to burn, and she averts her eyes to the ground in front of them. “Thanks.” She clears her throat. “We’re not, um, together.”  “Good,” he says, then his eyes widen. “I—I mean, not good, you know, but, um, like—”

im imagining reddie, 18 years old, they’re in richie’s bedroom after hanging out all day, and they finally confess their feelings for each other. they kiss (both of their firsts), but while doing so eddie starts to get overwhelmed. not in a bad way, just in a... ive-been-in-love-with-richie-for-six-years-and-this-whole-time-ive-been-told-and-convinced-that-the-things-im-feeling-are-wrong-and-disgusting-and-unnatural-and-ive-tried-so-hard-to-pretend-that-these-feelings-dont-exist-and-that-im-not-gay-but-now-i-dont-have-to-and-he-actually-likes-me-back-and-ohmygod-we’re-kissing-im-kissing-richie-and-he-likes-me-he-really-actually-likes-me way. 

eddie pulls away, his head spinning and his heart beating at a dangerously fast pace and his hands sweating. he’s trying to ground himself back down to earth, and richie asks if everything’s okay. 

“yeah, yeah it’s fine, it’s great,” eddie stammers, gripping onto the fabric of his jeans so that richie can’t see his hands shaking. “you didn’t do anything wrong, it’s just, well, i-i-i’ve never dated anyone before, and it’s just... you i mean, i can’t believe that this is really happening, and-and this is all... wow, but i just... i guess i want to...” eddie doesn’t know how to put all of the thoughts in his mind into words. he’s struggling to convey what he’s feeling to richie, scared that he might say something wrong and ruin things, when richie just smiles gently. 

“do you want to take things slow?” he asks. 

eddie breathes a sigh of relief, wondering how richie knew exactly what he was feeling. “yes.”

richie nods, taking his hands away from the sides of eddie’s face and instead holds a hand out to him. “sure thing, eds. wanna keep watching the movie? i’m dying to know how it ends.” 

with everything that had happened, eddie had completely forgotten that they had been watching a movie prior to their confessions. he agreed, taking richie’s hand in his and scooting closer towards richie on the bed. richie pressed play on the movie again, but the way they watched now was different. 

before, there had been an acceptable amount of space between them on the bed. they had each had their hands close to their bodies, only ever coming close when they would both reach for the popcorn bucket that sat between them. eddie had been trying his very hardest to keep his eyes focused on the TV in front of them, and resist glances over to richie. 

now, the bowl of popcorn was removed and the space between them was eliminated. they held each other’s hands, cuddling up together and completely ignoring the concept of personal space (which neither of them minded at all). eddie rested his head against richie’s shoulder, and at one point during the movie richie turned his head to press a gentle kiss to eddie’s forehead (eddie blushed so hard that he had to bury his face into richie’s neck). eddie ran his thumb over richie’s knuckles, something that eddie would grow to learn over the course of his and richie’s relationship was an action that always calmed richie down. 

it would be a while before the both of them unlearned and truly got rid of all the internalized doubt, hatred, and judgement they held within themselves, but in that moment, both of them had the exact same thought running through their minds: 

this is perfect.
