What brushes do you use? How do you pick your colors?

I use these the most when working in SAI 2...Just switching blending on and off or changining their setting depending on what i need..Oh.. also just the simple 1 pixel binary ben..

When working in Photoshop.. which.. I rarely do lately.. I use either brushes by Peleng (Sergey Kolesov) or Iben Krutt... Mostly tho I use photoshop just to add some textures... like the ones by Tru Grit

in rebelle 5 there are these nice charcoals

in realistic paint studio the HB or B pencil with pen tilt support.. there isnt much to choose anyway

But, should it turn out to be true and he truly has signed/will sign a 5 year contract, I won't be very surprised. Charles' loyalty to that horrible team gives off the same vibe as the loyalty you have to someone you're in an abusive relationship with, and leaving is really fucking hard. And if it does turn out to be true, I really hope Ferrari will change the things they need to change and give him the foundation he needs to win something with them. Though I highly doubt it, seeing they haven't been able to win a damn thing in well over a decade.

Watched Chess Netherlands today because... well, I can 🙃 It was surprisingly not all horrible. Definitely flawed and problematic but it had some parts I really liked! Of course I had lots of thoughts again so here is me venting them. 99% sure no one else cares about Dutch Chess but what the hell, tumblr is for screaming into the void right? ✨️

Act I

- You can instantly tell this is a Dutch production because the championships take place in what looks like a school gym. I mean we do our rubiks cube tournaments there. Is fine for chess, no?

- Explaining chess to the audience bc that's what the show is really missing

- Many Svenska Vibes

- Anatoly with an i is the most Dutch Soviet Russian i've ever met. Just, no nonsense. 'go take care of my children woman.' Calling each other names is how we show affection <3

- I will say the boys (Anatoli's kids) playing chess during the opening is a nice touch

- Story of Chess also has very to the point lyrics. "chess requires reticence so u don't kill each other" see now this actually sets up the show real well :)

- Awkward humor no one laughs at ✅️

- Anatoli's kind of a downer

- Freddie's sort of charming but his relationship with Florence is gonna be garbage i can tell

- So far all of this strikes me as discount Svenska but without the investment in Flonatoly and the only thing it's really got going for it is a handful of good lines BUT we'll see about act 2...

Act II

- Why the fuck would you start your second act with Merchandisers?

- Nice audience interaction though, it doesn't completely not work

- But following it up with Heaven Help My Heart is hmmmmmm really not ideal pacing-wise.

- Freddie's woman verse is even more cringe in Dutch i can't accurately translate it but it's so..... yikes..... The word he uses instead of "woman" ("popje") literally means "little doll/puppet" (but with slightly different connotations). It's sometimes used as a term of endearment but in this scene it is very much derogatory and ew.

- "here I stand wondering / if I ever knew you / have I ever really known who you are?" I like this translation!

- Pity the Child pulls no punches (does it ever?) He's so pathetic, he's such an asshole, and as a teacher I weirdly feel this one (at one point he talks about how no one ever noticed him at school either and just... oof don't get me started). Also the desperate rapid-fire chess game he plays against himself in the musical break and during the final verse--that needs to be in more versions holy fuck go watch this bit it's GOOD!!

- The Deal but without a political angle. Fascinating.

- no. no no no i hate this i hate this Freddie wouldn't sacrifice his game not even for Florence NO. CANCELED.

- Interestingly instead of honey/parner, Freddie uses the same word as in the woman verse when he's talking to Florence during The Deal but this time it's the endearment variant. That's a little bit problematic.

- Molokov's plan is still to bring Flo and Sveta together even though Anatoli is now supposed to win 🤷‍♂️

- Anatoli casually downs several shots of liquor (vodka?) during Soviet Machine. not sure this will help him win the game but at least he sleeps through Russian Guy screaming that final whoooooooo high note in his ear

- Florence tests Freddie's chair... demands they bring a different one... is she still working for him? idk. I'm guessing it's meant to be sweet but it just looks silly to me idk

- Fuck reverse I Know Him So Well honestly. "he wants me / no he wants me" boo fucking hoo. You two deserve each other.

- Oh! Oh! Talking Chess, yay! 😁

- Gosh this is actually really cute?!? Freddie literally just came to discuss this random chess gambit he came across and thought was interesting? Nothing even to do with their current game just 'hey found this thing i thought you might like and i like and can we be friends now i really like chess 😶'

- Unlike in Svenska and RAH, I actually don't know for sure who is going to win this game. They do a good job of making this really about chess in the end. I like it.

- Freddie reminding toli it's about chess even during their match now that is the freddie i came to see!

- He calmly sips his water as Sveta and Florence are physically removed from the premises

- It is Quite Unfortunate that this production hates women...

- Really they seem to only be here to get in the men's way. Ugh.

- I don't support any of the relationships except Freddie and Toli being pen pals and playing long distance chess for the rest of their lives.

- Ending feels a little OOC but still nice to see some healthy Freddie & Flo interaction for once 😌

tldr; not the worst production out there, worth watching if you've already seen Svenska and don't mind Freddie being the most likeable character. (okay likeable is not the right word he sucks but, you know. He reminds me of RAH Freddie but slightly more yike.) PTC and Talking Chess are highlights!

The character arc that both tang sanzang n swk had went tru. Like here u can see how trusting n somewhat naive tang sanzang was towards having swk as his disciple at first. This being right before he slaughter the bandits

Swk had no respect for tang sanzang at firsts, for example like these two things. The progression of both master and student was v tumultuous on both ends

They can’t see the each other views n the actions they took up until somewhat towards the ends(even less on tang sanzang tho but still) i like how this poem is v beautiful AND HOW FITTING IT WAS THAT THEIR TRUE JOURNEY COMMENCE WHEN IT NIGHT. LITERALLYYYYYYYY but yes @birbs-n-cats Sun Wukong and Tang Sanzang's relationship as shifu and tudi is very fraught (and for very understandable reasons!) but also much more genuinely complex, interesting, and heartfelt than it's often given credit for...I'm guilty of making fun of both the monk and the monkey for their failings, but I honestly do think that their relationship is one of those rare cases where you really can't define one of them as the "good" or "bad" person even with all the violence they offer each other simply because there's so many factors that go into how they understand and act towards each other in both anger and affection. It what makes any true understanding between them feel that much more genuine; so much of the journey seems to be about the ways that even people who are trying their best and doing what they think is right are capable of doing horrible things to each other, and the question is then how one might move forward.

Scaramance = Puppet reader is a passenger and pillow prince/princess. He will drive them where they want when they want, he’ll carry the bags, don’t worry baby, embrace the spoiling.

I don’t really insert myself into the stories! Kinda of weird? But I see the distinction between the reader inserts because each story has different settings/requirements and it’s vague enough to input the other bits if you get what I mean.

It’s… like a diving board? For me at least, since I read the story and I don’t get attacked by thoughts until after I read it all. Then I start doing regular everyday stuff and my mind wanders to it and then the gears start turning. And then I’m trapped in brain rot hell.

A really good thing about your writing is how you set up the story so it provides a rather solid foundation for brain rots, which are like the furniture!

I haven’t read a story from you that I didn’t like. If anything, I just haven’t been brave enough to throw out ideas until Scara.

Scara is the grumpy neighborhood cat you decide to follow one day only to see him jump on a spiked fence to visit his beloved puppet reader and suddenly you’re invested in their fluffy love story. And I did fall in love with their relationship. It’s more than the typical friendship/romance and captures just how complex love can be? It’s… it’s a quiet and not so loud love but you see him and you know that whatever he has with puppet reader, it is where eternity is found. (Hehe, eternity, get it?)

Just as there is love in the way that everyone checks on Collei to make sure she’s okay and the way Cyrus checks up on reader and they actively communicate about their lives. There’s love in how Tighnari lets them and Cyno lay on him and he holds their hands as he listens to their soft whispers and oh, Cyno makes a joke and-. There’s love when they include Karkata and Kevah at dinner, and they share stories and jokes and laugh and laugh into the late hours of the night.

Because love (from where I live) is so, so closely associated with a sexual romance where the guy wins the girl no matter what he does to her and how he’s always stoic and can’t be vulnerable. And the culture I was raised in is one where the men can have affairs and no one bats an eye but that’s a whole another story.

But there’s love in your story even if the focus is romance. In bits and pieces here and there that speaks about their willingness to be open about it and I think we should start remembering love (platonic, romantic, and familial) in all the little places that we end up overlooking because we’re so used to it.

This got long and off topic so I’ll end it here, but I would love the idea of love. Not blindly. But that it exists and it doesn’t have to be overwhelming all the time. The kind of love that you learn to speak and watch as you grow as a person. And!!!! It’s okay if two people grow into people who are no longer compatible because it doesn’t erase the love that was/is there. Because you can end the relationship amicably and fall in love again and be surrounded by love from friends (in real life and online!!!) and family.

I am sorry about the death of romance in your area, honestly that's kind of the same here in my country too and I try to not embody that for the next generation. But thank you for the sweetness in noticing the details! I do adore the many ways romance can be shown (Romance is actually not my go to genre in every media I consume haha) and as such, refrain from writing cliches

But I think the biggest factor is that I'm a demiromantic, romance that is cultivated and grown is my specialty, romance that naturally occurs. And perhaps my preference to not overly romanticize things can sometimes make fics look like platonic and familial too, which I don't mind at all

AU of first meeting + arranged accidental marriage idea, because I love an idea that HC can play it cool with his highness only by his sheer luck. He is no better at handling his embarrassment than XL in canon.

The idea tho:

HC, having an extremely severe case of “what-if-we-are-not-meant-to-be-with-dianxia-ever-and-I-never-find-him” crisis, decides to gamble with his own fate and privately decides that next time somebody puts a bride/groom on stake in his Den, he will accept it. And not just to put them somewhere to work and earn their keep as he usually does, but marry them for real.

Here is the deal. If he lifts a veil and it’s Dianxia (1!!!1!1) for some fat non-existing chance, then they are meant to be and happy ending, and he will have diaxia and what more to want. If it’s not, then he will stop thinking about it and will remain only a devoted follower never again hoping for something else and accept that person as his wife/husband. Not he will ever touch them that way though.

So next time in Den there is a person’s marriage on stake and he doesn’t dodge the bid into something better, but closes his eyes and explicitly accepts it. (Ghost residents are thrilled by the idea their Lord settling for family life)

It’s the bride offered by some desperate father though. HC is not a chicken to back off from deal even if it’s only private. He accepts the girl nonetheless, even if he thinks that ofc what was he thinking, gambling on his highness marriage, like he has any right, and why on earth his luck is enough to get the whole Danxia for himself? His highness probably has better things to do.

HC is devastated in advance waiting for the girl to arrive from some no name village at her farther’s command. Probably he nonstop prays to his god for mercy and already mourns his sinking dream relationship with XL, but still doesn’t back up from his ‘fate gamble’. He is very tempted when he sees the red dressed woman in veil tho

And since we have happy Hualian here, ofc it’s XL when HC lifts the veil.

He was just passing by when he hears the sob story of the girl and her father that was so desperate that he bid her hand and heart to fearsome ghost king. Obv he’s feeling “I will go and have a serious conversation with that ghost that no one can trick desperate people into marriage” first. Than he thinks again and decides that it’s not his business and honestly no one forced a hand of said father to gamble.

Here his luck is ended, because the girl is crafty and armed with full plate of fresh dumplings and crystal shiny tears in young eyes and tru story that she very loves another. So she persuades XL to help and go instead of her. They provide the dress, the snack and the carriage. And even some dowry to make things proper in eyes of gods and ghosts.

And XL at this point finds himself agreeing and blankly thinking “why not”, because honestly being someone’s husband shouldn’t be so bad. He will have a home and whole person for himself. Mb even a good person. He is so lonely that even a ghost king that gambles brides looks like an option. And mb that ghost king is lonely too, if he agreed to unknown girl that he never met. Anyway what’s of his honor left? So he privately decides “f@ck that, mb even damn be my cultivation, I’m gonna check this option”. After all, times when he never run away were long gone. He totally can run away any time he doesn’t like the situation. And if they do marry he will have a brand new excuse why he can’t date someone apart from his powerlessness. He would be married after all…

So he agrees to the whole thing, and comes to Ghost city, and HC lifts the veil, and here he is instead of a pretty bride.

Pause stretches a bit too long. Stress peaks. XL panics that ofc he ruined everything again and anxiously asks, “so… will you marry me?” He probably doesn’t even realize what syllables he produces with his tongue. Just panics. And then panics more.

HC meanwhile totally mentally skyrocketed into his dream space of Danxia simping at the sight of XL and doesn’t think straight at all. In his head Danxia asked “will you marry me” and ofc dream HC will pick up all his bride skirts and run to the altar that very second. So he breathes “yes” first, does the whole ceremony prepared for them, all bows, and then he realizes what he had done. And that was all real.

XL is just as flustered. He also made his bows in a haze of embarrassment and “oh gods I really said that to living ghost king dressed in red, being in red dress myself, and omfg help”

Ghost residents cheer them loudly, startling them into senses. So HC scrambles himself and XL and takes them both to the paradise manor. There he drops XL in peace of his own rooms and strategically retreats to god knows where. Corridor probably. Just behind the door likely. Because he’s that much of an panicking idiot… Leaving his fresh accidental dream god of a husband alone and go panic himself. After some while he realizes the mistake and rushes back, apologizing and embarrassingly spilling all the beans to dianxia.

Seeing that hot panicking mess vaguely resembling fearsome ghost king husband of his, XL stops anxiously worrying that he somehow displeased his new spouse and angered him and just calms them both down. He’s already charmed by his married life, if it’s with this guy. And it’s only gets better, bc HC immediately gifts the ring and sincerely vowes to do only what diaxia likes like he means it. XL dares even to admit that his husband is very handsome. HC melts on the spot.

It takes them several hours to finally agree that no one is angry or unhappy with how it turned on. They talk it out and agree that yes let’s try this whole venture. XL stays in HC’s rooms. HC has to lay down a bit just to process that.

Who would have thought that his luck was that unbelievably good.

I saw you make a comment on another post about Dorothea having lines but you think it doesn't improve her much. And yikes I can't help but agree. Dorothea is just awful in this game. Her sadness at the war came across as legit genuine in 3H. Here in Nopes it comes across as self righteous hypocrisy since there's no SS counterpart but only CF+ and CF 2.0. Her Church Sus comments are really the worst, like wtf is her "is it part of the church's teachings to teach us how to kill people", girl, you didn't join a monastery, you joined as a student of the Officer's Academy - a Military academy.

I've also developped in the Nobles BaD post how Nobles are expected to have and perform certain duties, like, protecting their people. Doro refuses to consider this, and refuses to move a iota from her initial "nobles bad", even if... she is trying to end up with one of them to secure a good future.

And let's be clear, Doro being a sex worker or hating nobles but feeling like she has no other choice than ending up as a doll to have a future in Adrestia is fascinating, just like how she apparently hates herself.

The only support where this angle of hers is alluded to is in her Sylvain support - but seeing how Sylvain develops and exists in Nopes, I can't really see him end up on the long term with "Why the Goddess forces us to fight??" Doro, especially since Sylvain has real solutions he wants to try to stop the seemingly eternal conflict with people from Sreng.

(instead of blaming the Goddess).

Doro also has the dubious honor of being the only member of the BE to go "uwu don't want to kill Eddie" in SS, when everyone now knows about Flamey and their associates, Merceus being bombed and - say, Doro worries about the Opera Troupe in Enbarr, but apparently not because the Emperor might put them to the sword, no, she just worries about them for ~ reasons ~ and really regrets having to fight Eddie, when Caspar (i seriously love the dude when he's not a member of the bullshit eagle sus force) tells everyone in his very simple words "she got it coming".

Doro is moved to tears when Leopold offers his life in exchange of his soldier's - but apparently not when Leopold trounced randoms, and did very intelligent things as the Minister of War, nope.

Worst Doro moment for me is the "maybe we can keep the damages to the noble disctric of the city" which is... idk, as bigoted as saying an entire race of people has to die because their blood ruins the society.

First because it's especially icky to say this when her friends are nobles, and their families are still most likely living in those suburbs, Second because Dorothea more than anyone else know Nobles employ a lot of people, and if those areas are destroyed, one Ludwig might die, but 50 "Dorothea's mom" could also die.

Honestly, Doro should have been a Tru Piss exclusive character, refusing to consider other POVs (no Doro, Ingrid has a type, and it's not you), always blaming others Supreme Leader designed as the ones responsible for the war, not giving a frick about anyone who isn't in her immediate entourage, her "we killed Ferdie :'( " rings so hollow and empty (which is why fact she helped orphans is just jarring - if Doro helped those people who lost everything because of Supreme Leader, why the reluctance at having to fight her?).

IMO, Doro and Hubert are part of Edel's court, along with Monica. They are just here to make people feel bad/good for Supreme Leader. She could have been much more than the "sassy one liner kween" we got - for the only commoner POV we have in Adrestia, we have just "me me me church bad nobles bad me me nobles bad me me church bad".

She could have been better if she really sticked to one gun, like, idk, questionning nobles and what is their duty after Remire, something like

"They pretend to protect the people and yet the Church has to shelter those people! What are the Nobles in Enbarr doing?"

And if a Supreme Leader support is reached, maybe she could add

"Maybe this will change once Eddie becomes the Emperor..."

During the Ball maybe we could have a Doro reflect on her blindness and life in Adrestia

"They really throwing up a ball for everyone here! I even heard children from the monastery will attend to the festivities. I wonder would my life have been different if I had been sheltered by a church? ... Never mind me professor, Adrestia doesn't even have a church."

tru tru, i think he said in the audiobook it was inspired by horror tho like honestly it reminds me a bit of alien, AND like his rly old videos have so many horror elements as well as his first video that he made as like a twelve year old that he reacted to a while ago was a horror film and he grew up on stephen king and all that. i fully belileve his secret proejct is gonna be a horror or horror comedy

Yes!!! I love the series so much I wish it had more fans! I read them last year around July-September, in particular reading the second book helped me get thru a really bad breakup at the time so they have a special place in my heart

As for your questions;

1. Ox is my absolute favourite I have like no reason for this I just think he’s neat lmao but I also love Stella, Sturgess, and Reggie so I’m hoping the next book has more lore about them

2. That is literally so hard to decide Oof there’s so many good scenes like Hannah’s first introduction to the stranger times, and I love a lot of the characters interactions together like Reggie and Ox, as well as Ox and Stanley, but then there’s some really good moments with Stella and Vincent… Truly you’ve asked the impossible of me lmao. One particular article that I can remember was the “Morrissey is possessed” one which was really good because I wish was tru but I think he’s just a POS lmao

3. I don’t have any strong theories, but like I said I’m really hoping there will be Reggie and Stella lore. I’m excited for the wellness/new age retreat concept that’s being brought in especially when combined with ghosts honestly I can’t wait to see how it ties together! Also I hope there’s more explanation into Sturgess’ parasite! Not really a headcannon or theory, but with the title and the teasing of cherubs in the summary I’m assuming there will be more development of relationships. Actually one headcannon I have is that I think Ox and Stanley might make a cute couple if Stanley would just take a shower lmao

I’m thinking of doing a reread before the release tho so maybe I’ll think of more things then!! And lemme know your answers to these questions too!!!
