As for his 'friends', the thought process is 'okay, but why him?'. They don't really get the hype lmao. Draco is also entirely unprepared for an impromptu catch up with a bunch of senior death eaters, so he doesn't make a great first impression.

Generally, their opinions on Draco are -

Nott Sr: devout Tom fanboy to the point of homoerotic worship yet actually somehow the straightest man in the room. He assumes Draco is brilliant, fantastic, amazing and a genius, because he can't comprehend the idea of Tom having shit taste. Every birthday present he buys Draco is actually for Tom. Sometimes he forgets and writes Tom's name in the cards. Draco forgives it because he still has an image in his mind of Nott Sr as Theo's senile, geriatric father.

Rosier: ambitious but also likes to think he's a genuine friend of Tom's (he isn't). Feels personally hurt that he wasn't invited to the wedding. Tom saying said wedding was 'family only' did not alleviate his hurt feelings as literally everyone knows Tom is an orphan. Said ambition led him to try and build rapport with Draco. Unfortunately for him, in the long run he'll learn that giving Draco Malfoy the slightest opportunity to feel superior to you is a recipe for being treated worse than dirt (the Adrasteia situation did not help any attempt at friendship).

Mulciber: ngl he kinda has a brain like a brick, so there isn't that much going on in there. He thinks Draco is shaped like a noodle though but really doesn't give a crap about Tom's personal life. However, he is competitive, so has to throw his hat in the ring when he sees Rosier trying to suck up to Draco at the market.

Dolohov: has been trying to get with Tom since he was a bartender working at the Hog's Head and Tom was a fifth year (yes, he's creepy and kills the vibe. hence why the others don't like him). Gave up once he figured Tom wasn't interested in men but stuck around because he and Tom have the same niche hobbies (torture and murder). Is offended to find that Tom does swing that way but went for an age-appropriate fellow twink.

sorry to be the most boring person alive but moby-dick good actually. i DID give it 2.75 when i read it and i did sort of hate the experience but jesus christ herman melville i am going to charge your ghost property tax in my brain!! genuinely a Rich Text. i would love to study it in a class. sometimes a story is a coffin that is also a lifeboat. sometimes fate is a noose tightening around your neck the closer you get to the end of a story you've already lived. sometimes you have to make a story epic to ensure that the people in it did not die in vain, even though they did, and you will too. sometimes a whale is a fish (?) and also a book (?) that is the entire argument for one of the cetology chapters. my favourite incorrect whale fact chapter is the one where ishmael lists approximately two dozen things that are a) white b) scary to prove that the titular whale is not an isolated case. the one about skull dimensions is also an all-timer. read a little context about melville at the time of writing, read his breathtakingly romantic letters to nathaniel hawthorn, then read moby-dick. I SURVIVE MYSELF! it's not long but notes of a crocodile by qiu miaojin is a Thinker. autofiction within autofiction. transgressive both in style and substance. if you're a fan of the bell jar/cassandra at the wedding/special topics I'm calamity physics/media about pretentious literary girls with fucked up brains, then this is a book for you. captures the listlessness of being in your early twenties and seeing no future where you survive and the necessity of queer friendship and grassroots activism and there's a very real anthropomorphic crocodile who is also a metaphor for lesbianism and you WILL cry over the crocodile! fantasy is a cornerstone of hope! the crocodile is allowed to reach out and find a way to live when neither protagonist nor author can find a way.

also not long but there is so much delicious gender in my ántonia. ántonia and jim really ARE queering heterosexuality by being straight in the most gayass t4t way. another book that's enriched by learning about the author's bio and specifically her gender presentation (the intro to the barnes & noble edition makes a great point about how cather is allowed to vocalize her desire for women if her words are in the mouth of a young man--literally, there's a prologue written by an unnamed narrator who isn't not cather telling you 'this happened to my buddy jim'. layers upon layers of authorship. but also jim is a woman and ántonia (tony!) is a man and they take refuge in the assumption of outward-presenting heterosexuality to get real fucky with gender. does lose a little steam once jim goes to college but dear god could cather string a sentence together. every formal description of this book makes it sound unbelievably boring but do it for the gender and the beautiful descriptions of nebraska

plum bun: a novel without a moral by jessie redmon fauset is a good chaser if you've read passing. they were published the same year and tackle similar themes but with vastly different voices and outcomes; nella larsen is beloved and renowned today, but hardly anyone has heard of jessie redmon fauset (i hadn't until someone on here recommended plum bun to me!). personally i prefer plum bun to passing--though only by a slight margin and this is a case of the two cakes rule; they're both good! fauset's prose has such a rich texture that you can really sink into, and the way the early parts unfurl were very reminiscent of a tree grows in brooklyn. also both a Romance and a satire/interrogation of marriage plots if you're a romance rearer. we are WAAAAY overdue for a jessie redmon fauset revival! give my girl her due!

The Eclipse Ep 4 Stray Thoughts

Back-to-back high school shows on Friday, and they're both good. Excited to see the new form of oppressive structural power we'll face today!

Really love the homoerotic energy of these Judo scenes. It's fun watching them knowing that Khaotung was better in their training, and that First was so nervous about injuring Khaotung.

Akk half undressed is framed well with Ayan's peeking. Me, too, Ayan.

Oh lord a pratfall kiss. This one was okay, but I am just not a fan of this as a dramatic tool.

A bunch of educators trying to gang up on a student by making him look incompetent in class is such a bad tactic. It makes him sympathetic to his peers, and the teachers look petty. Worse, Ayan is actually good at memorization and recall, so he's embarrassing them.

It's sad that Akk is being boxed in by this teacher. Akk doesn't like seeing people get hurt, and he's being told repeatedly to ignore the pain of others, lest it befall him as well.

Notable how few ads we have with this show. Hope this isn't a bust for GMMTV.

Ayan looks legitimately tired here. Khaotung and the makeup team did a great job here.

Ayan's premise of understanding personally how this school attempts to break people down is compelling. I think what scares him and Akk is that it might actually be working. Ayan looks like he's taken a loss.

I appreciate that they used a lot of girls and femmes to show that this is a diverse cafe catering to a queer audience. There are enough boys in the show.

Like I'm imagining some kind of situation where Demetri goes on a stealth mission to gather intel (maybe in Mexico on Miguel's dad's sketchy friends, or maybe it's after Miguel gets back and it's on Cobra Kai), and it's either alone or leading a fairly small team. Miguel is pretty worried and wants to come along for extra protection, but Demetri keeps insisting "nah, it's all good, I can handle this" (because something something character growth--as much as Demetri would appreciate the backup, he knows Miguel is probably needed more on the front lines of whatever wacky karate heist/hijinks they're trying to pull off!). Miguel reluctantly agrees in the end. He figures Demetri's come a long way since the Loser Lunch Table days--and if he's made it this far, then shit, surely he knows what he's doing by now. Anyways, Demetri isn't the sort of guy to go into anything without a backup plan of the backup plan of the backup plan, so he'll probably be fine. Probably.

Demetri is not fine. Sadly it was only a matter of time before his newfound, karate-born confidence got the better of him, and it seems today is that day. When coming up with infiltration plans, the usually-meticulous Demetri only double-checks instead of triple-checking everything, figuring "I'm sure it's fine!!! I'm probably overthinking it!!!" And Eli, let's face it, probably did not help, being like "YOU GOT THIS MAN, STOP STRESSING!!! WE'RE GUCCI!!! YOU WORRY TOO MUCH!!!" *hearty, reassuring homoerotic shoulder pat* Demetri has nearly everything in line...except for that one entrance point. A back door where he forgot there are usually security guards.

As expected, the team gets caught, and is overwhelmed by karate madmen within seconds. Even the stealthiest of elite squads have nothing on the sheer number of karate child soldiers that Terry Silver/Miguel's evil dad have.

Things are looking bleak, and Demetri is getting the worst of the beatdowns. His friends are preoccupied with their own karate battles, and even his relatively-greatly-improved martial arts aren't much help when he's still probably the weakest fighter there. He's holding his own enough to not be knocked out, but he doesn't know how much longer he can go on.

And then.

You just hear this fucking roar, and Miguel Fucking Diaz, All-Valley karate champion and one of the fastest paralysis recoveries on record (he's just that tough), springs out and starts wailing on the guys beating on Demetri with more fury than the world has ever seen. As soon as Demetri stopped answering his walkie-talkie (of course they're using walkie talkies--the nerds), Miguel figured something was up and fucking booked it to go help, because have you met this loyal-ass fucker??? Screw any mission, Miguel's friends are more important.

With Miguel and his team on the case, the battle's tides are turned!!! Demetri, however, is still in a shocked heap on the ground, watching as Miguel unleashes the rage of roughly 4 thousand angry megalodons on all the guys who were just beating the crap out of him. And Demetri is stunned because he's never seen Miguel like this.

It's kind of like the cafeteria fight, or maybe the fight at the LaRussos--that same level of raw anger and power, anyways. But this time, it's much more personal.

As the fight winds down, Miguel catches his breath--hunched, panting, covered in scratches and bruises, wiping blood from his chin with the back of his hand, standing over a still-cowering Demetri and glaring around with a challenge in his eyes. And let it be said that Demetri Alexopoulos has never felt safer.

But Demetri, cheeky fuck that he is, would never be so much of a fool as to waste this opportunity. As Miguel helps him up, he manages a weak smirk and lightly slaps Miguel's shoulder, saying "See? I TOLD you I didn't need karate when I had you!"

Miguel, still out of breath, rolls his eyes and tells Demetri not to get used to it. This is more for show than anything, as Demetri can--and logically should--get used to it. It's hardly out of the question for Miguel to do this again--or perhaps, if the need arises, a thousand more times. He wouldn't even think twice.

okay. episode six thoughts.

EGWENE.

look. the only wot book i’ve read in full since 2018-2019 was the eye of the world. when i think of wot i tend to think more of late-series wot. coincidentally, while early-series wot shows you first hand how awful the seanchan are, late-series wot veers hard into apologia/“negotiating and making concessions for the greater good.” i forgot how hard the egwene povs in the great hunt were to get through. this episode reminded me. in graphic detail.

madeleine madden did a fucking fantastic job and i cannot wait to see her in later seasons as egwene grows and develops as a character. her scenes were so tough to watch. she deserves an award.

i do love how the show is portraying the seanchan. all of the suroth and renna scenes were deeply uncomfortable and upsetting, which is really how the seanchan ought to make viewers feel. (right, brandon sanderson? right?). using loial’s treesinging like a party trick. the flowy/frilly da’covale outfits. renna saying “oh, i’m nicer than other sul’dam, i want to be your friend” but trying to break egwene down. ugh.

there’s also something in here about “southern hospitality” and the us’s history of slavery and rj being from the south but it’s too late at night for me to get into that.

also, like, not to be matbrained, but the sheer delicacy/fanciness of the da’covale clothing makes me very afraid for the extended tylin-tuon plotline. i’m sure that if the show does it they’ll do it well (the show has already done a lot of course-correcting), so it’s not that kind of afraid, but more I Know What’s Coming afraid.

every time they mention The Seanchan Empress i get filled with a little bit more dread. god, i hope they handle tuon’s Everything well.

and siuan’s back!! finally!! i’m hoping they don’t sideline her in these last few episodes, because god knows they’ve done her dirty this season.

i really love ishamael and lanfear’s clothing. like, ishamael’s looks have been so faux-corporate, and i’m obsessed with lanfear’s leather and lace-up boots. it really does feel like an extended/future version of modern (first age?) fashion. i like what they’ve done with the age of legends’s aesthetic in general.

knowing which characters turn out to be darkfriends makes literally everything funnier.

if we must have gawyn and galad in the show. i need them to have the same vibes as barthanes. golden boys who are so so so punchable. sycophantic, even.

mat and min friendship truthers, we continue to lose. i’m hopeful that they’ll get to be friends again eventually.

ugh. mat telling rand he’ll come with him because he needs someone to keep him from becoming an arrogant prick. through the lens of wotshow i catch glimpses of hit amol chapter older, more weathered.

if i had a nickel for every time this season they’ve had a shot in a character’s dream or vision of mat lying dead with his left eye cut out, i would have two nickels. which isn’t a lot but it’s kind of weird that it’s happened twice. evil smile.

rand monologuing about how he thought him going away would protect people at mat, who is generally acknowledged as the king of the whole "being away from rand will protect me" line of reasoning. i have to laugh.

“if you love him, stay away” “[mat stays away]” i hate it when the wheel of time on amazon prime makes me feel nostalgic for the period of time where i was super invested in cauthor. like, circa 2018-2019. do you guys remember when there were only two fics and they were both from like 2013. there are now (i just checked) one hundred and sixty-one. it is such a shame i don’t ship them anymore because it’s genuinely kind of fun to have gay subtext in the gay actual-text show.

but also like. a true testament to the power of casting homoerotic besties as two white men. a loss for me (draws them both as men of color).

relatedly, i am so pleased that the top relationship tag for both the books and the show is siuaraine. quite possibly the only time i’ve ever seen a series that isn’t near-exclusively female characters (madoka magica, the locked tomb, etc.) have an f/f ship at the top. and they’re even canon… i cannot wait to see them next week.

what can i say about the wondergirls that has not already been said. i love nynaeve forever and ever. i love elayne being super into ter’angreal. i love that they both love egwene. i love that they bicker with each other. wondergirls 5ever.

also like… nynaeve getting to hang out with a yellow sister a little bit… delightful.

i’ve said this before but i’m trying to put everything in one place. i think ryma and basan’s actress and actor did an excellent job. but it’s really disappointing that the show continues to veer into anti-Blackness and colorism in its casting. it’s a pattern in both seasons and it isn’t good.

anyways. the wheel of time. i don’t think i have anything more to say right now.

Hi guys! This is a short history essay that I've been assigned to get extra credit, I have to address an unseen side to a historical figure, something that isn't in most history books and can only be found through extensive research. 

In this essay, I will be addressing the controversial friendship of Adolf Hitler and his ‘’colleague’’ Lukas Fischer during their residence and occupation in Vienna from 1909 to their separation 2 years later. 

TW: This is actively about Adolf Hitler and addresses a more human side of his character, this is in no way intended to humanize him or excuse his actions, it is a historical report.

In this essay, I will be addressing the controversial friendship of Adolf Hitler and his ‘’colleague’’ Lukas Fischer during their residence and occupation in Vienna from 1909 to their separation 2 years later. 

After the death of Hitler's mother in 1907, he became dependent on piecework and causal labor, alongside his attempts to sell his own watercolor paintings of the Vienna landscapes. By 1909 Hitler had become entirely broke and homeless, records stating that he lived the ‘’Bohemian Life’’ on the streets.

Whilst the matter is speculated by historians and is most often recorded as a matter of friendship, Hitler establishes in 1909 a relationship of some significance with another Austrian by the name of Lukas Fischer, Fisher was an artist working in a similar environment to the young Hitler.

Evidence found in scraps of letters written from 1909 to 1911 that appear to have been exchanged between the two indicates that Hitler (who is currently 18 years old) held extreme reverence for the art of Fischer (aged 27), particularly his sketches of architectural marvels. Multiple messages had been exchanged which discussed Hitler taking up residence with Fischer in his apartment as an ‘’apprentice’’ though there is only speculation as to whether this became true. 

One letter, in particular, draws attention to the relationship between these two men. Written on Feb 5 1910 and addressed to Hitler contains succinct and blunt praise of the boy, Fisher describes Hitler's mind as ‘’ein Meisterstück’’ a masterpeice, and is also the first mention that Hitler’s reverence s returned.

The contents of these letters can of course be read as heteronormative and as the actions of two struggling artists in a revolutionary time although the emotion and respect demonstrated in these texts can lead to the inference of homoerotic intention apparent between the two; whether that relationship was merely fantastical and the men never met in physicality, or it was a two-year long romantic or sexual relationship. In either instance, any collaboration was short-lived, no letters were written of remain after 1911 and after this period of time is when Hitler began to establish his reputation as an antisemitic and began his campaign in Germany. Therefore any sources have been excluded from archives for various reasons.

Things i watched and loved in 2021

Beyond evil (2021) is my #1 for probably years to come. Not my first Kdrama but definitely the reason I started looking for them instead of waiting when smth crosses my path accidentally. 6 re-watches and probably more to come, too many juicy details to fit in my small brain. Came out of this really attracted to Shin Hakyun.

Hotel del Luna (2019) Yeo Jingoo was not my main focus in Beyond Evil, but he has so many dramas that are worth watching on their own merit rather than because i'm into an actor. Hotel del Luna is spectacular, all the actors are brilliant in it (i love IU now). I started watching it smiling and laughing and ended it crying. And now i'm re-watching it with my sister, while crying non-stop from the first seconds. But it's fun, it's just smth is wrong with me.

Crowned Clown (2019) - masterclass of acting from Yeo Jingoo. I haven't really noticed anything else, i was just mesmerized by him.

The ghost detective (2018) just an easy enough detective story with ghosts, a lot of things technically similar to Hotel Del Luna but you're heart is intact and happy after all of this. I suspect this drama is everyone's cup of tea.

Sweet home (2020) my absolute favorite monster movie ever, because i like them character driven and heartfelt.

Squid game(2021) has tons of merch in our popular online stores, noone else does. This whole affair is just to sell stuff to the world, the show is ok at best. But the tug of war game got me jumping and screaming. So it has it's moments. (Love the guy from Beyond Evil)

Devil Judge (2021) last kdrama I'm gonna mention, not because it has any special place in my heart but it was homoerotic (not saying gay) enough to deserve my appreciation.

Word of Honor (2021) my cdrama baby. Objectively it is not the best but it is the bravest and the most genuine thing that i ever seen. It was an honor to watch it while it was ongoing and the drama after the show left me heartbroken, and almost incapable of watching cdramas again.

Crossfire (2020) cdrama about gaming with fantastical elements, best of it's kind and I watched all the popular ones. Has comedy and drama, and action, friendships, soulmates, het love stories that are not in your face and enjoyable, a disabled character that would be fine even if they didn't miraculously heal him (but it's China)

Imperial coroner (2021) cute costume cdrama. Healthiest romantic relationship ever and it was between a prince and a female! coroner! in "ancient" China!!! the girl is from Young Blood(2019) and I'm keeping an eye on all of them.

Prospect (2018) 1 of 2 american movies i watched this year. And it was a great choice. Just really really cheap but smartly made, simple but well structured, well acted, well written solid movie. about a teenage girl and several grown men surviving on a poisonous planet and trying to leave it. with Pedro Pascal.

Venom 2 (2021) I loved Venom back in 2018. And obviously i liked this one, for the same reason.

Euphoria season 2, episode 7, titled "The Theater and Its Double," blurs the lines between fiction and reality. While the episode is light on debauchery, it does focus on Lexi's play, cheekily titled Our Life. Its depiction of high school stage productions is, in typical Euphoria fashion, both searingly accurate and completely fantastical.

Here's every song featured in Euphoria season 2, episode 7.

"Amore mio aiutami" by Piero Piccioni: Plays during the "overture" of the episode.

"Love Will Keep Us Together" by Captain & Tennille: The 1975 cover plays during a montage introducing the play's versions of Euphoria's cast of characters. Maddy, Rue, and Cassie realize that the play is about them, which doesn't sit right with many of them.

"The Word Hurricane" by Air: Cassie and Nate walk the halls and make their relationship public; Cassie is dressed exactly like Maddy, and Maddy comments, "Well, she certainly looks the part."

"Vivre Pour Vivre" by Francis Lai: Cassie lies in bed, and Lexi explains how she feels like she's lived most of her life in her imagination.

"More" by Bobby Darin: "More" plays during a montage of Cassie and Lexi spending time with their dad, who, like Rue, has struggled with his own addictions. The montage is bittersweet, as Cassie and Suze watch this depiction of sweeter times in their lives with tears in their eyes.

"Spartacus Love Theme by Alex North: A montage of Cassie and Nate plays. Nate dresses Cassie and gives her a necklace; she shares that her biggest dream is to devote her life to loving someone.

"Oops (Oh My)" by Tweet feat. Missy Elliott: Cheerleaders do a dance on stage, and the play looks at the fractured friendship between Maddy and Cassie.

"Surrender" by Armando Trovajoli: Cassie has an intimate moment with Nate, and Kat takes back up webcamming.

"What's Up" by Labrinth: The cast prepares for the play's next scene.

"Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler: The final number in Lexi's play sees Kat's ex-boyfriend Ethan play Nate in a hilarious and entertaining homoerotic dance number.

Sarah’s top 10 webcomics of 2021

In 2021 i read a lot of webcomics [like... a lot of webcomics lol] so I thought it would be fun to put together a little list of some of my top favorite discoveries of the year and gush about them for a bit! I’ve tried to restrict this list to freely accessible webcomics that are currently still updating (or I know are likely to return soon) and almost all of them are queer in some way so uh let’s go

1. Midnight Furies - Jess Herron [webtoon/tapas]

Hands down one of my favorite discoveries of the year. It centers around 17 year old Zoe, a former basketball prodigy who is dealing with the loss of her parents and the responsibility of taking care of her younger siblings, and her friendship with the enigmatic (and super gay) Chase, who introduces her to the Midnight Games AKA physics/reality bending basketball where people play for extra time in their lives rather than cash. MAJOR sports manga/anime vibes with a super energetic and dynamic art style, a diverse and fun and incredibly compelling cast of characters, and a really creative and interesting take on the genre. Everything I love about sports manga - heartfelt team dynamics! underdogs fighting against all odds! plucky protagonist with near infinite potential! homoerotic subtext! - except the subtext is actual explicit text and also it’s MAGIC [kind of???]! We absolutely love to see it! If a sports comic about supernatural basketball and spunky teenage girls with hearts of gold and lesbian exes with thorny pasts sounds appealing I definitely recommend giving this one a shot!

2. Cosmoknights - Hannah Templer [website]

Okay so hear me out. Butch lesbian knights in space starting a revolution to dismantle a patriarchal neo-medieval system that spans planets and galaxies. Tell me that doesn’t sound like the tightest shit you’ve ever heard of. The actual comic is even better than the elevator pitch because the art is absolutely GORGEOUS, the character arcs so rich and complex. I don’t even want to say too much about it because i think this story is just so magical. It’s still relatively early on in the story but Volume One is available online for free [alongside all updates for Volume Two] and also in major retail stores if graphic novels are more your cup of tea!

3. Tiger, Tiger - Petra Erika Nordlund [website]

Did I first catch up with this comic this very month? Maybe so. Have I been unable to think of anything else since? You can’t prove anything. This story is set in a fantastical world where a noble lady named Ludovica who longs to explore the world and reclaim her agency (and research sea sponges) steals her brother’s identity and his ship to embark on a long voyage at sea filled with ADVENTURE and DANGER and ROMANCE and all that other good stuff! Don’t want to give too much away but I can confirm that this comic is extremely queer and extremely fun to read. The comedy beats are impeccable and the characters so expressive, but it’s also a story filled with heart and thrills and tenderness and I am so excited to see where it goes!

4. The Flying Ship - Jem Milton [website/tapas]

Showing my entire ass by including yet another comic about sailing a ship in a fantasy world lol but this one is about a girl who is gifted a flying ship by a mysterious wizard in the woods and sets off to find her ~destined crew~ and ~win the hand of the princess~ with the magic boat. Lots of really good found family vibes with this one, the protagonist has a lot of heart and complexity to her, and the art is so charming and storybook like, just a really delightful and fun read all around!

5. The Croaking - Megan Grey [webtoons]

This comic is set in a futuristic society where everyone has bird wings and society is extremely stratified depending on your species, and it follows a crow and an osprey on their trials and tribulations at a prestigious military academy. The world building is SO intricate and interesting, the romance is one hell of a slow burn (in the best way possible), and the plot twists are so well done. Someone read this and scream with me about Scra and Kyle pls

6. Covenant - explodikid/Lysandra Vuong [webtoons]

This comic poses the bold question - what if priests were tattoo covered demon exorcists who were super hot and super gay? Follows Ezra, a talented young exorcist who is also struggling with a lack of faith in God, and Sunny, the broody and mysterious guy Ezra has been charged to protect for Reasons. The art has absolutely no right to be this fucking beautiful and the action scenes are jaw dropping. It's on a hiatus right now but will return for season 2 on webtoons!

7. Kingfisher - skulkingfoxes/Rowan MacColl [tapas]

So maybe I'm a sucker for a good period drama with a healthy dose of the occult. So what about it huh. This is an occult/supernatural mystery/adventure story set in the 1920s, focusing on nervous and academic Seymour and his surly longtime friend and roommate Gabriel (oh my god they were roommates...) as they attempt to decipher the secrets of the Kingfisher box. It's split into a few main arcs/volumes and right now it's on break between volumes so now is a great time to catch up!

8. Drugs & Wires - Mary Safro & Io Black [website/tapas]

90s cyberpunk east European vibes = immaculate. Primarily follows Dan, an ex-VR junkie coping with addiction and a strange virus in his head that forced him to quit VR some time ago, but also follows a really fun and colorful (literally in some cases) cast of characters through various hijinks and misdventures. I love the juxtaposition of the grimy cyberpunk dystopic setting with the bright and vivid artwork, something about this one is just very aesthetically pleasing to me.

9. Ride or Die - Mars [website/tapas]

This one is also a relatively new one but it's by the author/artist of completed webcomic Long Exposure (which I also recommend!) and I'm already enjoying the hell out of it. There's street racing and amazing character designs and muscle cars POSSESSED BY DEMONS what is not to love seriously

10. Animalheads - Son M & Sam C [tapas]

So this webcomic recently relaunched on Tapas as an original but you can still wait to unlock a new episode for free every 24 hours [and once you've caught up, once a week]. It's about a group of recently graduated friends who try to carve out prospects for themselves by entering the world of CRIME. Aside from the gorgeous art, this comic does some very fun and creative things with point of view and timeline shifts to create a really compelling story. Truly "be gay do crime but make it gritty and dark" in a webcomic and I find it utterly delightful. It's only caught up to where it was pre going original like a few weeks ago so I'm really excited to see where the story goes from here!
