Hello, for the requests - Could you do Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt on a playdate with their kids? And could the kids include my Sicily OC? 👉🏻👈🏻 I just think that in the Hetaverse, he regards the time of the Greek city states on the island as the last proper time he was free and its own player on the world stage, so Baby Sicily has very fond memories of Ancient Greece and her baby son (and there were also always trade/diplomatic links in history between Sicily and Egypt, though they waned throughout times due to different foreign rules). Also, I am convinced Sicily bit every last colonist that first came to the island and none of the personifications of the indigineous peoples knew where that feral forest kid comes from, but I'm sure he's a well-behaved playmate with other nation kids. I think there might be vengeful ghosts/spirits that would haunt them or attempt to kill them. Imagine being killed by nation in battle, and you become a vengeful spirit. can we also point out that China was like. Probably basically already full grown? Like I haven't fact-checked this but like....China is canonically 4000. He was around to see the Ancients. He has seen Things. There is not Ancient China, he IS Ancient China as far as we know.

and if i'm not mistaken, China the country took a (sort of) break from the world around the time half of the world would have been kids minus maybe the silk road bit. I'm blanking on dates, but I dimly remember something about Chinese trade ships wandering around for a few years in I think the 1300s, and then they went back to doing their own thing away from everyone else for a while and just left the Silk Road because Europeans liked that stuff.

Depends on what you consider "Romantic", but if we go for the most traditional def of the word, i would say Yao, Ivan and Alfred are fine, but they´re so childish and clingy it might kill off the romantic atmosphere quickly.

I love how you see relationships in Hetalia, much more fluid yeah they may have true love but they don't seem to have a concept of "Bigamy" or "Cheating" in the way humans do.

I see it on a case-by-case basis. Francis has a very open view of love so is more given to having mistresses, both short and long term. I see England as a person who would be the opposite. A serial monogamist, he's not easy to deal with; he opens very slow every romantic entanglement he has is Long-haul, with no fast lane.

I could see Francis and Arthur having long periods where they don't really have a romantic dynamic, but it sparks again suddenly and there's no build-up because they have a library full of history detailing everything. the romantic dynamic is very on- but it's a pleasant feature not bug to them as a pair.

I also headcanon Francis being Arthur's first love, imagine young Odette and Prince Eric from The Swan Princess.

Oh yes, thank you 🙊 I feel like the standards of human relationships don’t directly apply to the nations so in my personal little hetaverse I wouldn’t say “cheating” as such is a thing. Of course there’s jealousy sometimes, but having centuries or even millennias they can and will spend with each other.. if they had stuff like those “don’t date your best friend’s ex”-situations.. it just doesn’t make sense to me so I basically headcanon the nations to be mostly open about relationships. I don’t have the details for everyone figured out tho ☺️ (I’ll do that if I ever need them lol)

France is definitely very open in every aspect of his relationships 👀 tho I also see England as fairly open depending on the situation and who he’s with (and also because bft x England is 😚🎶👌🏻*chef’s kiss* or really just poly ships in general idk I love them)

I used to be so obsessed with them when I first joined the fandom. I basically roll dice whenever I see two characters being spicy enemies and there are two outcomes - they should fuck and marry about it or they should genuinely hate the each other more than plague. (Okay, often there is a middle ground of 'they should never date but they should fuck about their dislike.') FrUK is definitely the first one for me.

I also should have checked 'They're fucking the same guy', which I believe to be very true for the Hetaverse. However, I find England so supremely unsexy and unshipable that FrUK is really the only England ship I actively ship. Sorry Arthur </3.

I think they can't get away from each other, because despite all of their differences, they're so intrinsically tied to each other. It's the same pride they share at their core, they both operate with the same framework. Sure, the rules seem different, but there are rules. They both love to put on masks and hide behind ritual and make-belief, which also means they are the best to navigate through the other's mirage. They love each other at their worst and at their best, and what qualifies as such also depends on the situation. Awe of the strength of an Empire, something that from a modern framework they can look back and shudder at, still incites some of that violent excitement. Similiarly, it's nice to get scars from tending to roses and not to battlefields, so they appreciate the calmer and peaceful life they can live together now.
