Uhm... Copts are an indigenous ethnic religious group. I'm not trying to be disrespectful but especially as you're an Egypt centric blog you should be more mindful as to how you speak about Egypt's persecuted minorities :(

Hey! I read your tags to peonycat's ask. I don't know much about Egyptian history so could you please clarify what you meant with "been copt before adopting Christianity"?

I always understood that Copts are all christians, and their identity as Copts is both their Coptic ethnicity and christian religion (as opposed to Arab Muslims who settled on their land years later).

Also, so you Egypt is actually a Copt who converted to Islam and not Arab?

But you also say that being Coptic was "just a phase" for him and he's not Coptic in the modern era, so how does that work?

Oh i forgot that coptic Christians are a thing and thought coptic meant something else my bad i was talking about him following whatever the main religion in his country was at the time before becoming Christian

You described the idea of Egypt portrayed as a Copt to be "interesting" but wouldn't that be... iffy and very problematic? Copts are older than the egyptian state and also an indigenous ethnic to the land, not to mention they suffer severe systemic persecution at the hands of the egyptian state today
