about the art- i decided to take advantage of this moment to fuck around with my art style. they have noses (ik, wow, crazy) and i tried to let myself be as imperfect as possible (ofc i was still annoyingly nitpicky but- i still like how it all came out). i didnt even sketch a single one of these. was that a bit stupid? maybe. but it was still very fun to fuck around and find out

when drawing nebula i wanted to have him look both very soft and kind but also fucking exhausted. at first i was unsure if i had gotten the wet cat energy right until i put a photo next to it and i was like "yeah. thats a fucking soggy man."

rust is forever gremlin, even if they just turn into a teddy bear the moment eridanus picks them up.

eri was actually quite fun to draw since ive never drawn mermaids before but- no time like the present and a pretty lady who must be drawn.

but onto the fic! i am. incredibly normal about it (lying)

the dynamics between everyone is just so fun to read through. especially when theyre all here for similar reasons: grief and loss.

watching them all grow and learn to cope through each other is so sweet to watch. and even tho nebula seems to be more content watching them heal rather than healing himself they wont let him neglect himself any longer it seems :) theyre grabbing a towel and fucking getting him whether he likes it or not. and if they dont then i will.

im so curious as to how lunar will come to fit into all of this as well.

Misc notes from the Maghni AI February Q&A Stream:

Aurum demo is going to be delayed by a few weeks, currently expected for the beginning of March.

Everything else should be on schedule.

Hype content will be posted around the end of February regardless of Aurum's demo being delayed! (Something fun, Oliver related, is coming before the end of this month. Assumedly - not mentioned, this is me saying this - his second English demo, since Austin's announcements match the schedule.)

Languages development has been going well on Natalia's part.

Audine recently finished her English recordings, development for her voicebank starts soon.

Crossy has been drawing a lot - for the upcoming February content and for the official character art, which is a lot of work since they want it to turn out perfect.

GABRIEL and GLASSIA's voice actors have been recording. GLASSIA's voice recordings are experiencing some delays because their voice actress wasn't satisfied with them, but she's a fast recorder according to Natalia.

GLASSIA is Brazilian.

Natalia and Austin are excited about the development of voice colors, and Austin is also excited about the engine themes. Barham is excited about the age and gender parameters (which are different!) though those won't be available on release. Caleb is most excited about phoneme editing but also mentions that some very powerful voices are coming. (I have never used VOCALOID so I didn't understand what Crossy was talking about o(￣┰￣*)ゞ something "V1 pitch bends better than V5")

The vocabulary they use around the program is inspired by a will to "paint the vocals". This is mentioned in response to someone asking if you can draw the pitch bends, to which the answer is yes.

They're putting a big focus on accessibility and beginner-friendliness, as they expect Maghni AI to be a first entry-point to vocal synth for many users due to the many languages it includes.

I'm not sure what exactly this is about, and it's mostly hypotheticals but they're enthusiastic about ideas adjacent to lyp-syncing. And feedings your voicebank little raspberries. For what it's worth

The two test libraries should have the exact same quality as other full libraries, but they will be limited in what they can do. (Like they won't have as many voice colors, their range might not be as great, they're just meant to be for getting a feel of the program.)

Maghni AI is meant to be very third-party friendly.

"Vocal A" is pretty much finished with his recordings.

Even if they create official stories with their characters, Vocatone's characters are up to your personal interpretation. (If Oliver is a silly goofy child to you, that's cool, if Oliver is very serious and broody to you, that's cool too.)

Next stream should be at the end of next month.

Growl parameter is an exciting prospect but probably not anytime soon. That being said, one of the voicebanks they're working on will have a voice color that's pure growl.

They were asked about "if they could have any UTAU for Maghni AI". I've been having a difficult time processing names but I'll do my best... Natalia: Momo Momone, Ruko, Ritsu - there are also voicebanks that aren't as big but are phenomenal, like Aiko Kikyuune - later mention: Yufu Sekka, Sayu Yurika. Barham: isn't familiar with UTAU. Austin: I didn't catch the name, sorry, but if I'm understanding well, two voicebanks he worked on? Caleb: Kakoi Nizimine. Crossy: Celeste? Then one I didn't catch, then Muyuka. Someone in the chat: Adachi Rei (which Natalia thinks would be phenomenal). Natalia keeps mentioning UTAUs so I'm giving up OTL

I just finished reading the manga up until the hiatus but I couldn't find any chapters about the 30 year timeskip or ronaldo becoming a vampire. There's so much fanart out there of the ronaldo vampire au and 30 years later au that I was hoping its canon..? Would you know which chapter it was from? Or if it is all fanon au? :(( I'm not sure who else to ask.. Thank you!!

To answer your question, the 30 Years Later AU and Delta AU are both semi-canon, by which I mean the mangaka Bonnoki was the one who came up with them! There are a whole bunch of semi-canon AU's out there, and those are two of the most popular ones!

The 30 Years Later AU doesn't have any official story publishing like Delta does, and is just based on drawings Bonnoki posted on his twitter account. (these drawings are also in the fanbooks)

He drew Ronaldo, Draluc, Ta-Chan and Maria, and Bubuo.

There isn't much official lore to 30 Years Later, and it's basically just "everything is the exact same, except 30 years have passed". Ronaldo and Draluc are still living and working together in Shinyoko. Ronaldo still writes his books and Draluc still livestreams and cooks for Ronaldo, and they both seem to have calmed down at least a tiny bit. Ronaldo is still human

And we love it so, cuz it's fun to think about the fact that Ronaldo has spent more years of his life with Draluc in it than without :)

(and some of us me are angst whores and love playing around with the will-he-won't-he aspect of Ronaldo deciding about whether he'll become a vampire or not)

As for Delta (the Ronaldo as a vampire AU), I made a post a little while ago going more into depth here! Unless you're referring to content that's about Canon Ronaldo turning from a human into a vampire, in which case, yes that would be fanon ^^

You're honestly on a very good start there! Art is a journey of self-expression and it takes time and dedication to create on something you love or have passion on! Don't be ashamed/afraid on what you have right now cos when you look back in the future (hehe), you can see how far you have come!

I'm still learning on how to draw Silver and the Mobians in general since I'm still quite new to the franchise. Hence understood the struggles/pain when it comes to drawing certain features and proportions of each character (for me its the five front quills in different angles, so much fixing/tweaking here and here...)

Having official photos of him as references somewhat helps me, until the colors and rendering comes by and oh boi that's a whole other story right there, the armour for Sir Galahad...lighting...absolute nightmare...

So I'm not sure if these helps, but I would recommend checking on Silver's references! Whether it's the 3d models from games such as 006/Sonic Rivals 1 & 2 etc, and/or 2d versions of him (e.g promo arts from Sonic Channels or the comics like Archie/IDW) which would get good ideas as to how he was drawn!

Plus, personal favourite of mine, if really stuck with what to draw for your fav, redrawing screenshots from games, shows or comics can also helps ya with understanding how anatomy, poses and all of the stuffs work!!

I'll leave both of the gallery from the wiki and the head angles that has Silver and couple other characters if you wanna practice on some head turns with Silver!!

I would also recommend if you have enough storage on your device/s to have an album on your gallery with references for Silver! Or preferably for me, if uses Discord, create a server just for yourself and add a channel just for images, that way you don't have to worry about the actual storage space in your device's gallery!

Really debated on uploading all these photo's of Kota's separate, mostly because I like them all together on the main art work ^^; But here at least, I can explain each art!

Please bare with me if there are spelling errors and what not, having covid brain makes it not work at 100% capacity. My brain is absolutely fried. OTL

1st. Gin. A character, belonging to my friend, Crocodile-God! The roses took me forever to draw up. Why roses? Despite being a destruction God, Gin breeds and grows a variety of flora, her main interest being roses. Fu has a hay day with them in ARC 3, much to Gin's displeasure.

2nd. Tokitoki. One of those rare moments, when Tokitoki is not trying to tear Kota apart! Here he is in all big big fluffy glory, taking a snooze. In the fanfic, (really early in ARC 1) Tokitoki does not like Kota at all. This is because when Kota was a baby and visit the Time Nest with his mom, he would pull on Tokitoki's feathers. Rude baby. Kota may have forgotten and may be trying to make amends with him by offering him treats, but a divine time bird never forgets. As revenge, Tokitoki will often attack Kota on sight and try to rip out his hair. Fun! But here, he's sleeping. Thankfully.

3rd. Hands of a Warrior. This piece is of Kintsugi's hands! Originally, it was supposed to be her back view, standing in a field, where the "sky and earth meet" (this place is shown many times throughout the story and is Kota's place to go, to escape the noise of Conton, when he just can't be "a Hero" anymore) but I felt the sickness of the corona starting to bear down on me, so I went simple and just drew her hand. Though canonically, it is a whole back view of her looking out at the endless green. (that I will draw, someday!)

4th. Dragons! Specifically, a baby dragon. These characters are introduced in ARC 2. The gold one is a very old oc from 2007, that was originally named, "Domi," and was a light blue color. (Before I decided gold suited him much better!) The gold one is the only one name thus far by Kota, and is named "Konnichiwa," or "Kon," for short. Why named this? Kota named him this because, he's "rather say hello, then goodbye."

Uh, I actually don't really have a lot Specifically Established on whatever scientific fuckery Colress/Plasma did to Kyurem during B2W2, other than it is Really Fucked Up In the Head and I Really Need It. A part of me just wants to let it simmer in the background and only bubble up when it's relevant to the thread, or if I ever bounce around ideas with a Colress muse. Kyurem is clearly repressing that entire experience anyway, so it'll be a fun surprise for everyone involved when I finally think of something spicy!

...Do not ask me anything specific about the Forces of Nature, especially Enamorus. I do not know, I have been drawing blanks for years and I wanna cry. I would hate to half-ass something as significant as the kamis and their whole... everything, but I cannot ignore their overall existence either. The only vague thing I remember establishing In Ye Old Days is that Landorus may or may not be spawned from or has been cultivated by the Original Dragon in some way, since he is a representation of fertile earth and became the god of harvest that way, then Thundurus and Tornadus came... later. (And again... do not speak to me about Enamorus, nevermind the fact I didn't finish PLA to even SAY anything about her to begin with. OTL)

I do not know, please, let that remain a skeleton in the closet for now...

January: I dabbled in traditional art again and doing an environment, creating some sort of illustration about my character Jurou's island. it came out surprisingly well considering it combined two things I don't do a whole lot: environments and traditional art.

February: I did not draw a whole lot this month it seems, most what I found was reblogs. I did however make this valentine's day Shigadabi thing, so I figured it'd be fitting to put here.

March: Another low-art month, decided to put Toga here as it was apparently the month I started doing my neon palette L.O.V series of sorts.

April: my boy Konjou. HAD to put him here, he's one of my favorites.

May: First time I tried out comic-panel art style with my favorite Spider Dad, Jurou.

June: Another nearly-no-art-month, but I did find this cute doodle of kid Tenko I did in June.

July: My Moth spirit set. Yaguro was my fave from it, as his profile in the image was probably the best profile I'd ever drawn then (and since OTL)

August: Start of my "cool pose ladies" series (that I still haven't finished lol) starting with Yume.

September: Konjou x Jinchou, had to include this one as it was one of the few times I skipped the lineart phase and it actually came out really good.

October: As much as I wanted to include the halloween thing(s) I did, I just absolutely LOVE this piece, so I had to pick it instead lol

November: My favorite villain siblings duo, Angus and Franziska. This one was kinda fun because while I was making it I kept thinking it sucks, but once I finished it, it became one of my favorite pieces I'd made so far. Funny how splashing colors onto a piece can fix a lot of issues lmao

December: Haven't drawn much yet, but decided to pick one of my newest ocs, Kuromoya. I'm quite happy with how that piece came out.

Are you religious? Kind of? My cultural roots are very deep and my religion is all tied up in that. But my health is bad, I regularly get fierce pains, and I’ve been depressed for like ten years now. Not to say that you CAN’T have faith coexisting with all those things, but I’m just exhausted. It’s not for me. (Or at least, it’s not for the me that exists right now. I suppose that could change in the future)

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw?

God I was gonna say 'weirdly, Juniper' because I really struggle with tall/ skinny body proportions and for whatever reason I just can't get get her face right half the time but THEN I remembered what a pain it is trying to draw Nyssa every single time aaahah :'D She's-- so-- the thing about Nyssa is that she was literally designed to be self-indulgent for me to draw, in theory, but it turns out in practice that's less the case than I expected? like... oh I'll make a satyr oc cause I love satyrs :3 [goat legs are HARD to pose and even HARDER to attach nicely to a human waist to begin with! what on EARTH are horns from literally any angle!] I like drawing bodies and hate drawing clothes, good thing satyrs are naked lil heathens :3 [I don't actually know how to draw boobs?? oops???]

A bitch to draw for somewhat similar reasons is Tsakesh, who is a delightful boi and has a very visually appealing design to me, and I'd probably draw him a lot more if he wasn't a cat man oTL

Approaching from a different angle, another answer would be Small characters interacting with medium sized creatures/ an environment designed for medium sized creatures. Like in theory that's part of the fun of small creatures, but in practice I'm really bad at composition, and trying to get everyone's faces in the image at the same time when one person is barely half the height of the other is a huge pain in the ass, actually, lmao. But it's so fun when it works!

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what?

YES, and-- it depends! Often it's mbmbam, or my big catch-all 'songs I like singing along with' playlist, which is 1) the default music I listen to and b) The Playlist for workin on Projects, but doesn't always fit drawing. Usually I can draw while listening to stuff with words, but when I can't I have an instrumental playlist called 'Coloring Time' that I originally made for my kids when I taught a drawing class that's almost entirely comprised of chill video game overworld music, so I have something to listen to that's background engaging without being distracting. I ALSO! have instrumental playlists for Melliwyk, Juniper, and Elyss, and sometimes when I'm drawing one of them I'll put her playlist on at the same time (especially Mel's because it's just delightful anyway, and tbh pretty rarely Elyss's because a lot of hers is really melancholy :'D)

12. Easiest part of body to draw?

I like forgot how to draw them today so. ill put old doodles where relevant. thank you for not asking name origins they're embarrassing. Theyre named Rinnie and Minho and they're only still called that because. Minnie. rest under cut.

🌼 they are my little chew toys, so I draw them at literally every age ever. Usually though they're around 17-25? ish. few months age gap usually to like. 5 years sometimes. 👍

🥊 Minho hates. he hates. hes a little hater all he likes doing is sleeping and looking out the window and watching creatures when hes outside. He loves the whimsy but doesn't believe in it. Rinnie plays/ed hockey for a while thats sort of his thing, he has fun. He really doesn't hate anything, or more can't hate anything? He's very if I'm positive about it things'll work out! It has to happen anyway! That being said cooking is stressful scary dont like it.

🎹 Minho makes music! I know very little about music so. I dont draw this a lot but it's a big thing for him :) And then Rinnie knits, but he's a very stressed out everything is hard any time not spent on the grind is time wasted kind of guy, which means. he doesn't hobby loads.

✂️ When I say they're my chew toys... in the zombie au which im like. really into rn. when it happens minho loses a lot of people fast which sucks ass for him. and then rinnie. when his love gets sick <3 oTL If you had a specific ver in mind. sorry.

🧠 This is a hard one I just love them oTL My favourite thing about Minho... hes. cute <3 hes pretty. and mean. love that in a man. Rinnie is just a very comforting figure hes like. everything. hes cozy and nice and warm <3

Ive been on that grind huh. this is definitely not my first drawing of minho bc he was made in peak kpop era (2018-2019) but was all I could find 👍theyre. 5ish year old now god. but theyre barely the same people too.
