12AM late night danyal al ghul propaganda to consider (that is funny to me): this little brat being meaAN. nice twin danyal al ghul: great, fun, we love opposite twins. wonder where he's learning that kindness from, but it's a good dichotomy! but also mean danny fenton. this little shit can make an adult CRY. he is on par with Damian for most venomous barbs. he is a smarmy little motherfucker. he's nice to his people and HIS people only. everyone else can screw off for all he cares - he's gotta learn to care about other people. his canon sarcasm and wit goes from level 2 to level 10. he is a sarcastic, smarmy, witty little asshole and i could go on but the idea of danny fenton being a mean little menace to people is very very fun and amusing to me
The re-homing from Meta inc. continues, with these quick anatomy-focused sketches of my original characters (I’ve been constantly writing and rewriting their stories for 12+ years 🥹). I wanted to depict common varieties of body habitus I’ve seen in myself and people I know irl. Mostly.
OC intros are under the cut, if you’re interested—
1. Tamara (she/her) is a doctor, newly graduated out of apprenticeship and looking forward to starting her own clinic with her school bestie. That is, before her childhood bestie’s mom gets kidnapped by the same people that killed hers, and they all have to go rescue her together.
2. Mira (she/they/experimenting with he) is a vigilante whose power of shapeshifting into animals is also a curse (the longer they stay shifted, the more animalistic characteristics they retain after shifting back). The golden eyes and odd patches of fur and feathers are a fixture at this point.
3. Aditya ‘Adi’ Padmaraja (he/him) is a prince who was born to write poetry and sketch flowers but forced to take up a sword and shield to rescue his mom. He’s Tamara’s childhood bestie. He’s ace. He knows people are thirsty for him but he really just wants to finish his coconut in peace.
4. Narmada (she/her) is the third consort of the elven high king. Having immigrated from the elven diaspora in the great subcontinent to their ancestral archipelago, she was once the captain of the royal guard. That is, before getting entangled with the royal polycule.
5. Alberon (he/him) is the elven high king, the realm’s beloved scatter-brained hedonist with a very carefully constructed heart of gold, an insatiable appetite and a revolving door of many, many lovers. Isidore (he/him) is the new ambassador from the continental elven diaspora to the archipelago. He’s a terribly incompetent diplomat and everyone suspects his election was rigged. But he’s a hyper-confident vintner and the most adorably awkward flirt, so that’s sexy enough for Alberon to ignore the blazing red flags for a little while. A little while, promise! He’ll be careful! This is all for research!!
a guide on the youtube series Bloodlines SMP, and how to watch it :]
Bloodlines SMP is a 5 chapter roleplay series by 8 smaller minecraft youtubers, featuring cameos from others. the cc's mainly made building tutorials and calming cottagecore stuff before this and their builds are absolutely aweinspiring :] you may know them from Legacy SMP (especially season 3), Truly Bedrock, or OneShot SMP!
it's a storydriven series where everyone posts 1 or 2 (depending on their own editing style) videos per chapter, each chapter takes place over 1 month. the videos are around 10-30 minutes, featuring great editing and inner monolouges, and while some of them stream, lore doesnt happen outside of eps. each month theres around 8~12 videos
the story focuses on the 8 villagers who fled their home, Greyhaven, when it was destroyed by pillagers. they each had a role back in the village (farmer, fisherman, florist, ect) that helps them bring an important resource/skill to the group, and they're all trying to figure out what skills they can have to help the others in the future.
the survivors have no knowledge on magic or the supernatural parts of minecraft, this is all very new to them, and tensions rise in chapter 1 as mysterious magic and prophecies cause a split in the group
by the start of chapter 2 the characters are separating into factions or going off on their own based on their own principles and beliefs about what happened, and its very very interesting seeing everyones perspectives, especially when a character can come off completely differently from someone elses pov. we're only in chapter 2/5 (chapter 2 just ended!) and everyone is at eachothers throats already
characters include Block, a "warrior" who's trying SO hard to prove his family that forced him to be a fisherman wrong (and immediatly failing and jumpcutting to his Fishing Depression Montage), who in chapter 2 seems to be shaping up to have an INSANE villian arc (if you're a skizz or jimmy fan you'll LOVE seeing him get to go nuts), Sevaris, a gardener who is the first person to ever discover redstone and decipher it using her prophetic dreams and help from Allays, Frog, a girl who's taking the fact that everyone she ever knew died a lot more seriously than the others, and tries to figure out how to cure zombie villagers after making the Heartwrenching realization that these used to be people, and Mr. B, a lovable Prick who is incredibly against all this magic hogwash even though he seems to know the most of the lore around this place. he has NO secrets don't WORRY.
this is my recommended viewing playlist, its the order i use when showing the smp to my friends but you can start with anyones perspective :] i recommend watching all 8-12 videos in one chapter before moving on to the next as opposed to just watching from one perspective, but thats just my suggestion. right now everyone either has 2 or 3 videos, and we just finished chapter 2 out of 5 :]
there is also an official discord which you can find on their twitter, and the members are very active with fanart on tumblr and twitter. :]
i hope this guide helped, if i can convince just like 3 more people to watch bloodlines than i'll have doubles the fanbase its so goodU9VX
yo what. first you made me struggle and work for you at 80 pity then you're just gonna obediently come home??? right after you JUST came home??? fuck you.
I love the idea of Jason having an eidetic memory — and everyone knowing he has an eidetic memory — but still using “I forgot” as an excuse for not doing something. Like, skipping out on lunch with Dick or not returning a case file Tim lent him. Picking Damian up from school. Not calling Bruce back.
When the family calls him out on it, he just makes sad eyes and says some bullshit about the pit messing with his mind. Literally no one believes him and that in no way stops him from doing it.
okay but Dexstar being Guy’s pet cat that he saved from some sort of experimentation that discolored his fur and now let’s him transform into a saber tooth like giant cat
i think i finally put my finger on what bugs me about saying that ougi wants to make araragi alone
because like, she doesn't. not exactly
in the owarimonogatari light novel (and in the anime!) she's genuinely disgusted when araragi mentions he had no friends back in freshman year. this is not the reaction of someone who wants someone to be all alone forever
there's nuance to it, i think-- in owari when araragi says he's going to wait for kanbaru, she responds: "so you're counting on being saved by others?"
recall her words in the avant of kabuki: "people think they're being watched by god when they're going under these streetlights" (when really they're not totally free from danger)
under that philosophy, putting all your eggs in the basket that someone will show up for you is too hopeful. what if no one ends up showing up? then you'd be sitting there helpless. better to learn how to stand on your own two feet before you wait for someone to pull you to them.
that's what i think the idea is: "you can't always rely on the people around you, so it's best to be able to rely on yourself if you need to." being able to help yourself, in other words
of course, asking for help could be a form of self help. but just don't bank on it, is what ougi suggests here. (and not even that adamantly i might add. she's not pushing for it very hard-- this is just one point in her criticism, not the whole itinerary. which is why it confuses me when people say getting him to be alone is her goal. because it's really not)
the tsukimonogatari scene is a little different-- ougi criticizes him for relying on a "little girl" (ononoki, whom she knows is not truly a "little girl"), calling it pathetic. i think the ethos is ultimately the same here: "really? putting your problems on a little girl? why don't you learn some self-sufficiency and take care of it yourself?" araragi relies on people a lot, so it's only natural that it would be a recurring point of criticism for ougi.
i think the "little girl" thing might either be to rhetorically make araragi's reliance more of a heavy thing-- corpse dolls might not be bothered as much by the weight of your problems as a little girl would. perhaps it calls attention to the idea that oddities changed based on how they are perceived-- calling ononoki a little girl makes her seem just a little more incapable, a little less able to deal with araragi's issue. or perhaps it's to produce more of a sting when ononoki designates herself clearly as a monster to araragi, create more of a rift between them (that she admits she is hoping for). but it's not clear cut, and i'd have to rewatch tsukimonogatari probably to be more sure
either way, the through line still seems to be "don't count on other people or god to help you. do it yourself." which isn't exactly bad, but again since araragi relies on people a lot, ougi criticizes him more for it, and also is just overly critical in general, so it starts to become pushing him away from his friends as a result of that. but my point is it's not "isolate yourself" for the sake of it, it's isolate yourself so you know you can help yourself by yourself
which of course would make hanekawa and meme's appearances in ougi dark all the more baffling to her. she'd been trying to get araragi to not count on a miracle, but because he decided to stay open to one, one actually did happen.
I'm fully committing to the swiftie but for Billy Joel bit so I think I can say this it's genuinely nice to see how happy he seems now because I watched a lot of early 2000s videos when I first became a fan at the tail end of what he acknowledges as a decade of depression and like. He really did seem kinda miserable in a lot of them. He obviously enjoyed talking to young people at music which is why he was doing Q&As but there's a reason he wasn't doing much else for a while there. When I saw him last year he said "I'm a very lucky man, I love my job" and you could really feel that that was true, I think he appreciates how the audience connects to his music now in a way he didn't necessarily before.
I have succeeded in making mostly invisible progress! Specifically, I went back to, well, almost all of the individual drawings and re-did them in an effort to make Cuff less... jiggly. It didn't work, but along the way I came up with an idea for how I might possibly keep him sufficiently skrunkly and solid! :D
Basically: put every single Cuff loop on its own individual animation layer :) That should help me keep them consistent in size and shape. Idk if that will make more or less work for me, but I care less about that (because I find this process fun) and more about whether or not it will work. And it should! Maybe! In theory! We'll find out together :D 💜
people that can't accept that astarion's alignment is absolutely, definitely, canonically fucking !neutral evil!, are hilarious to me. idk how??? did we play the same game?? genuinely?? do you think neutral character would approve of raiding the grove & killing a bunch of refugees & killing the gnomes etc???
Nesta had not, for a second, regretting slitting Tomas’s throat. She did not need to ask, to know that Eris would have done the same. More, worse, if she desired it- it was no difficult thing, to picture his cruel mouth soft on her skin, tasting mortal blood sweet as wine.
A monster, and all Nesta could think all night, wrapped round in Archeron red, was: mine.
“Keir’s fucking with us,” Nesta sighed, and let herself sink back, careful, into the towering cushions.
“Blood is enough for most,” Eris said, glint of a there-and-gone smile lighting across his face, “We do not smell enough of each other. He’s testing it.”
“After my bath, all either of us will smell like is shitty Night Court perfume.”
Brighter than the sad, dreamy lights, Eris laughed. “No night blooms, for my bride?”
Nesta met his gaze. Lifted her chin. “No. I prefer roses.”
To press was nothing when there was nothing to trespass through- a breath of memory, and Nesta could practically see Eris inhale the thought, iron blood sunlight burning rose sweet- berry pie and the smoke haze brilliant burn of triumph.
Red, as their wedding had been.
Eris’s second laugh was louder, and suddenly the room felt warm. The dark less heavy for all that it seemed to getting closer, dense shadow settling around them.
“I’ll wear white tomorrow,” he promised, in a flash of teeth. “They do fear you so keenly.”
What her mortal veil might have been, her human name, the color of death to even these immortals- and he did, truly, relish wearing them so.
Nesta could taste it.
