Ok I'll bite. What did you think about the Heralds of Apocalypse one shot?
It was sooooo good. I think it really shows that Apocalypse and Genesis views on mutantkind mirrors Magneto and Xavier's in the sense they both fundamentally agree but have very different ideas of what the mechanism and grand scheme for that goal is. Genesis and Apocalypse believe strength is needed to survive, and it can only be acquired through advsersity, but don't see eye to eye past that. They're both survivors, and they both understand mutants will never be safe, so they need strength. Genesis will say that survival is strength, and Apocalypse agreed but is asking then what?
Apocalypse believes that beyond surviving, thriving and creating is true victory. Peace and obtaining/maintaining peace requires strength, too. Genesis believes mutants are living weapons and can only find strength in war. So strength is prowess in battle, and being able to win and repel domination. If they dont survive, they aren't strong, and those who do... follow her because she's the strongest, as she followed Annihilation because it was the strongest.
That's why Annihilation knew to offer Genesis an end to the Amenthi war peacefully because the war is where she gained everything for herself and her family. To her, that strength is everything. She would never give up war. Genesis, however, is ultimately villainous because she believes her way - perpetual war as a test for survival - is the only way to prove strength, with her as the Queen.
So, when she sees Arakko as a victim of genocide she uses that as a rallying call to gather her army of deamons, who she now has control over via Annihilation Spear, to test Arakko to prove their strength by surviving in her army and dominating those who opposes mutantkind and Arakko. Apocalypse lets his wife through his gate because strength is needed, but ultimately abstaining from her war because he believes he did his part in the XoS to free his people, and has plans of his own.
This is going to be interesting because Storm redefined and publically displayed strength through Brotherhood and coalition and singlehandedly dismantled heirarchy in Arakkii society, with leadership being a duty not a declaration of superiority vs Genesis blatantly believes in domination and rank through death of the weak. Finally, we see Genesis gathering and relying on all this military power through the coercion of the Annihilation Spear, but she didn't defeat Annihilation. That has to be addressed soon. Also, Apocalypse is now Revelation, which is better than that character that couldn't be typed lol

Finding it very funny to see people suggesting the 2024 presidential election is some new evil, and yearning longingly for simpler times like pre-2016. Idk how to tell you that 2024 isn’t unique and 2016 wasn’t a shocking departure from civility—you were just 18 years old.

"...you did not side with your mother. You sided with the helm."
This line absolutely changes EVERYTHING about the Genesis War and really makes you reread previous issues because now a lot more shit makes a lot more sense. Heralds of Apocalypse and XMR #13 are gonna get a heavy reread from me after this because my mind is racing

The Herald of the Apocalypse
My first attempt with the idea I had for Kit as the Herald of the Apocalypse. There are many things I’d like to improve upon in the future, but for where I am skill wise right now, I suppose this will have to do. (also yes that is a photo background because your girl has no skill with doing backgrounds yet, forgive me)

Prior to this year’s summer X-men event, Fall of X, (yes, I know that’s confusing ... why not “Summer of X”?) Marvel will release four one-shots that will “tie up long-simmering plotlines, reintroduce major players and put all the pieces in place for the dramatic events of the third annual Hellfire Gala.” They include:
X-MEN: BEFORE THE FALL – HERALDS OF APOCALYPSE #1

On Sale June
It’s the long-awaited return of Apocalypse in X-Men: Before the Fall – Heralds of Apocalypse #1, written by Al Ewing and drawn by Luca Pizzari. Not seen since the shocking ending of X OF SWORDS, Apocalypse and his family have battled for survival in the harsh land of Amenth. Do they rule over this twisted world or do its demonic inhabitants rule them? And how has Apocalypse felt about the choices the Quiet Council has made in his absence?
See the others.
