Apparently there are people actually complaining about there being girls among the Lost Boys in the new Disney Peter Pan and Wendy movie.
Of all the ridiculous reasons to be offended...
Yes, Peter wanted Wendy to serve as mother for the Lost Boys but this can easily be explained by her older age and maternal nature.
Also this is not the first time Peter Pan's Lost boys have been depicted as having girls in the group. Not to mention canonically there was always Tiger Lily, Tinkerbell, and Wendy.
Someone in my Sandman group actually emphasized "They're supposed to be Lost BOYS."
Okay... Did you complain when there was a woman leading the X-MEN? And there were multiple women on the team?
Did you complain when Star was one of the Lost Boys in the Lost Boys Vampire movie?

If you know nothing about Mutants, Professor X's school sounds like some sort of special needs academy to me. His school for "Gifted Youngsters". I mean, was he trying to hide his school for mutants by pretending it was a school for the disabled?
Not to disparage our good Professor X, but I really don't think he did his schools secrets too well. Even I could tell you something weird was going on there. What school has 5 students only, for one thing? And why is there only one teacher? And why did the government approve of this man's mystery program? So many questions. I'm legitimately shocked no one found him out.

Fantastic Four (1961) #28 — Stan Lee, Jack Kirby
Yeesh, this is the first crossover that's felt like it's trying so hard to sell you on the guest star(s) and to read their books that it comes off as a bit desperate.
