"Are we almost there yet?"
"Quit asking already! I'll tell ya when we get there. No peeking!"
"The more you say that, the more I wanna look, y'know."
...
"Look, Sara! Look!"
Per Joe's request, she opened her eyes, adjusting to the bit of light surrounding her. Fireflies danced around the two, almost like greeting newcomers to their home. She smiled at the creatures, watching them flit and fly about.
And then, she glanced up, the stars being quick to entrance her next.
"Ta-daa! Pretty, right?"
She remains wordless.

OMG IF YOU WANT PLS DO WRITE THE FIC ABOUT MIGUEL SEEING OUR THIRST TRAPS 😭 salamat talagaaaa wala na kasi akong maisip maliban kay miguel
HELLOOOOO, OFC I WILL ANON, I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS HEHE this is another excuse to make more text fics bc it's starting to feel fun for me LMAO <333
(reblogs are greatly appreciated, it helps get my content out there! if you guys like what you see, please reblog it too <:D)
is it not for me? – miguel o'hara x reader (reacting to your thirst traps)
a/n: kind of suggestive shit underneath the cut, sorry if you don't like it, you have every right to scroll away ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
after getting used to the controls and operations on social media and understanding the basic goal, or lack, of it–miguel had begun scrolling through his feed like you and lyla directed him to do. he scrolled and scrolled through the endless photos, videos, and posts sent his way by the very strange algorithm of the app. he still hadn't found the right thing for him on social media and he honestly wouldn't be here if you and lyla didn't force him to try it out so much, but when he least expected it... he happened upon your account.
he saw a photo of your back, it was you taking a selfie in the mirror with hardly anything covering your back. your behind was in full view but covered up, the lighting was dim, save for the flash of your phone's camera. the caption read: "for m, hoping you'll enjoy this three-course meal 🍓"
...that did something to miguel. it set some sort of feeling off of him, something that urged him to not just click like, but to comment right then and there: "who the shock is 'm'?" but if only he knew how to comment; all he knows how to do is click like and scroll.
he clicked the like button, unsure of how to feel about that very... eye-catching photo of yours. he tried shaking the feeling off, but he just couldn't; he couldn't stop thinking about it. he scrolled back up to see who else liked your photo, it took him a few tries to figure out how to do that. he also saw a few of the preview comments, complimenting your looks and tagging their friends who had 'm' in their names–joking that the photo was for them.
it pissed miguel off that these people could think your photos were for them, when you promised him you were all his. it damaged his ego slightly, but he figured these people were just douches, simple as that.
...but he needed to be doubly sure, so he click on your profile and looked through the posts you made. you really did love showing off your behind, it seemed like you were incredibly proud of it; miguel's totally in love with your ass, don't get him wrong, bur to know other people could see it and get to revisit the sight of your ass? oh, that made him feel a bit of a stinging pain in his chest.
he hated that feeling, where he felt like you were sharing intimate bits of yourself when you kept reminding and telling him you're all his. that, and as he scrolled through your comments, he saw a lot of people who not only loved your photos and sent you many compliments, but many who told you to get off the platform–many also catcalled you in the comments, too, much to his disgust.
"can't even keep this shit in real life, what losers." he muttered under his breath as he felt his anger rise as he kept scrolling through your comment section. he had gone through almost all of your posts, memorizing all the details of your posts and how you looked in them, feeling his face and chest flare up in a fit of heat as he looked through them all one by one. he sighed as he noticed you were a little too bold in these photos, in his opinion. he didn't want you to jeopardize yourself, seeing as how there were a lot of creeps on your account, he wanted to bring it to you attention.
hence, he messaged you all about his concerns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"for... her mother?" miguel repeated to himself as he reread your message to him. he sighed, not believing your excuse one bit, believing you directed it to someone with an 'm' in their name, like him, but he decided to play along for now to get you to fess up eventually. that, and he doesn't think you'd wish your mom would have a lovely three-course meal with your ass picture, but he did see that you took pictures of food afterwards, so... it was plausible. but you were not off the hook yet.
Tumblr media
he sighed as you laughed at his attempt at guessing who that post was for, who 'm' was. he felt a little embarrassed, a little ashamed he thought it was him, but then he thought of who would be closest to you, had 'm' in their name, and would enjoy the three-course meal that was... you already know what. he sighed as he typed and retyped his message after deleting the previous one, trying to get himself together after outing himself as being a little expectant that those thirst traps were for him.
Tumblr media
he finally messaged you, trying to sound stern over text, but he was completely ignored by you when you sent him a selfie of your bottom half, with little letters on your bottom that read: "good????? bad????? should i get em....."
fuck, you baited him again.
he felt his cheeks grow hot and his breath hitch in his throat as he stared at your photo for a second, hoping you wouldn't post this, that this could remain as just a little thing between you two. but then again, he couldn't control you, so he'd just try to respond back–seeming unfazed. hopefully.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
he was so easy to please sometimes.
moral of the story?
miguel loves your ass and wants to beat up the creeps in your comments section, while making it known to both you and the world that your ass is all for him–nobody else.

-Chapter 11-
The one with a very special sleepover
The next week at work was like any other before you met him. Until late Friday. You were playing a game with Dylan and a friend of him as you got called by Clara. “(Y/N) could you please come in the hall for a minute!” Something in her voice told you it was urgent. You excused yourself to Dylan and James and went into the hall. Sarah’s husband was standing there. Agitated.
“Hello (Y/N) I…I need your help!” You saw he was nervous.
“Sure, how can I help you?”
“It´s Sarah, she was in an accident and I am needed at the hospital. They said it´s nothing very serious, but…it is a 2h drive. She was out on a job when she got injured. I don´t know all the details yet.” You listen and nod understanding why he had to be with her.
“Sarah´s parents are out of town, Toms away. I don´t have anybody who could look after Dylan. I know it is not your job and I ask a lot of you, but I don´t know what else to do. I will probably be there all night. Dylan get´s scared so fast.. I…” His voice breaks a little.
You don´t think twice about what to say.
“Don´t worry, do you have his stuff with you. I will take care of him and we´ll have a slumber party at my place. You go take care of your wife, and please tell her I´m very sorry something happened to her!” Dylan´s Dad seemed relieved.
“Yes, I´ve packed a bag.”
“Ok…then try to calm down and go tell Dylan he will stay with me tonight. I will handle the rest from there.” “Thank you so much. You really are an Angel, like Sarah said!”
Soon you sit in the tube, with Dylan and his bag on your lap. He was a bit taken aback at first, but his Dad and you reassured him that everything would be fine and he just had a sleep over like with Uncle Tom sometimes. That calmed Dylan enough to get used to the idea.
“You know what?! When we are home, we´ll write Uncle Tom and send him a picture of you eating popcorn watching a movie!”
“Oh yes please.” Dylan said and grinned a little. Uncle Tom likes Popcorn, he will be sooo jealous!”
An hour later, Dylan was fed and in his pyjamas on your couch. The Dschungle Book was playing of a DVD and he had a bowl of Popcorn in his lap. His gorilla by his side.
You took a picture and captioned it with
<Dylan and his hairy friend do like my popcorn!
Some 30 minutes later Tom replied
>I heard what happened. Thank you for helping out and taking care of Dylan. I wish I could be there now. Sarah seems to have a fractured leg and is in the operating room as we speak. But it´s seems to be nothing major. How´s Dylan coping? He seems fine in the picture.
You sit next to Dylan and take a look.
<He´s doing ok. I´m glad Sarah isn´t hurt badly. I showed him your drawings and Dylan liked them. Not the girly ones, but the manly gorillas
 >hehe, yes, he doesn´t even like that girly stuff. I know. Would it be ok with you if I´d facetime you later? I want to talk to him and say good night before he goes to bed.
<Anytime you want. I think it would be good for him to see your face.
Dylan´s watching the movie and singing along to the songs. Cuddling up to you.
“You are my friend, you know? I like you…you are ok for a girl” he said sometime in between.
You couldn´t help but laugh. The movie soon came to an end and you prepared him for bed.
“I´ve got a surprise for you!” You said as Dylan had cuddled in. You had texted Tom that it was bedtime now and he wasted no Time calling you on your tablet. The screen was bigger.
Dylan´s face lit up
 “Hey buddy!” Tom said smiling.
“UNCLE TOM!!!” Dylan almost jumped out of bed. You propped the tablet up on a pillow in front of Dylan. “Uncle Tom. I´m having a sleep over. I watched a movie and ate popcorn. (Y/N) is my friend now, she is ok for a girl!” he talked fast and matter of fact. Tom laughed.
“Yes, she is. Where is she now Dylan? I want to say hello to her too.” You lean in a little.
Dylan almost instantly cuddling up to you.
“Hello darling.” He smiled at you using the endearment he only started to use a little while ago.
Just in that moment you realized he was in bed too. Leaning against his bedframe. Without a shirt and the blanket only half covering him. He was clean-shaven and his hair was shorter now then the last time you´d seen him. But he looked gorgeous nonetheless.
“Hi Tom.” You smiled back at him. Hoping he wouldn’t see the blush on your face.
Suddenly it felt 20 degrees warmer than before.
Dylan took up his attention again. They both talked a for a bit until Dylan yawned.
“I need a bedtime story Uncle Tom! Pleeeeaaaaaseee.” You laughed quietly and started to switch of the big light in favour for a softer nightlamp. Tom could see the both of you anyhow.
Without a second to think about it Tom cleared his throat and his voice drooped into a soothing tone. “Alright buddy, cuddle up and close your eyes!” Dylan did as told and yawned again.
Tom began to tell a story with a quiet and oh so soothing voice. You relaxed yourself listening to him and stroked Dylan´s hair. It took him probably 5 minutes before Dylan passed out and was fast asleep.
You smiled at him and then at Tom who was whispering “Is he asleep already?” You nod and take the tablet into your hands. Sensing Tom wasn´t about to sign off directly you tiptoe out of the bedroom into your Livingroom and take a seat in your armchair. The reading lamp giving a soft glow to light the room.
“You´ve got a nice home.” Tom commented and grinned.
“Good that Loki isn´t here, he would probably be jealous. Kneeling before Dylan first, making him popcorn and stroking his hair. A God could get insecure over that!”
You laugh as quiet as possible and tilt your head.
“Yeah, what’s up with him not being there? You got rid of him today?”
Tom had a mischievous grin on his face.
“For the day at least. I do have a night shoot today.”
“Ahh, hence you being still in bed.”
You try to focus on his face. His half-bared chest was doing things to your heartrate that were treacherous. He arranged himself more comfortably and you could see a tiny bit of his hotel room. Your notebook sitting on the bedside table made you smile.
“It´s so nice to see your face again.” He said quietly and smiles a handsome smile just for you.
The air around you seemed to crack. There was that tension again.
The tension you felt as the both of you had danced together.
“Loki wasn´t completely wrong with his request for pictures, you know.” And just like that it was all fine again. He made it fun. Yes, it really was easy to talk to him. He made you feel comfortable even with him being half naked.
“Oh, I´ve got an idea. Can you record this conversation on your tablet?”
You are a bit stunned but answered.
“Yes, I can do that. Why?”
Tom just smirked very, very sexy.
“Lean back darling, you´re in for a treat!”

Welcome to this week’s edition of my weekly roundup of posts…Especially for you just in case you missed any posts during the week…
Take a pew and get comfy… have a read… I hope you enjoy it!
Monday always starts with news and my views… always something new to discover…This week was no different…
Does food labelling go far enough…Personally, I don’t think it does some countries are better than others ..it would be lovely if labelling was standardised although maybe that would be difficult depending on the country…
Image by Igor Ovsyannykov from Pixabay
Seeing all the shelves like that is pretty daunting if you have to check all the labels…maybe the supermarket shelves should be colour coded and marked when goods are high in certain ingredients it would make our shopping so much easier ..Wouldn’t it?
https://carolcooks2.com/2020/08/24/food-labelling-does-it-go-far-enough/
Wednesday: The Culinary Alphabet with a twist…The letter D (charD)
#gallery-0-16 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-16 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-16 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-16 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
I was challenged way back at the beginning of this year by Pete…who suggested that maybe I should use ingredients and cooking methods where the letter used, for example, was the last letter i.e Pizza(A)…
On reflection, I think it was a good idea although how I will fare when I get to some letters I am not sure if it will be doable, but, I will give it a good go… I am not one to back off if challenged…hehe
Today is the letter D ..easy as pie but not so many fruits and veggies it is more processes which I hope doesn’t bore you and at least one is new to you…

Thursday:
Sugar…Children’s Teeth and Obesity…
#gallery-0-17 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-17 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-17 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-17 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
So much has been said about children’s teeth and decay over the years and around the world…There are many dentists and organisations who are working as hard as they can to stop the rot…is it working not quickly enough…
Teeth and childhood obesity to me should be in the same sentence…I lay the blame squarely on the manufacturers, advertisers and governments …I know all three try to blame the parents and to a point yes…not everyone is as aware as I am, not everyone has the enquiring mind I have..so many reasons but it doesn’t alter the fact that manufacturers should be called to account and stores should display nutritional value far more clearly for those who cannot read the labels and decipher what they really say…It should be a priority and not a token gesture …

Fruity Fridays:…The Fig…
The Fig…You can get it dried almost anywhere in the world and fresh and luscious from September through to autumn.
There is nought like the taste of fresh figs and dried they are different but sweet, with a chewy flesh and crunchy edible seeds.
Figs start off as an enclosed inverted flower. The shape of their flower inhibits them from relying on bees or wind to spread their pollen in the same way other flowers can. Instead, figs must rely on the help of pollinator wasps to reproduce.

Saturday Snippets…29th August 2020
Is the day where I indulge my whimsy or maybe something I feel is too good not to share or where I might even have a mini-rant which I did yesterday …I am a patriotic old biddy and although I embrace most change I do not when it comes to tradition and is at the whim of snowflakes…If you are not aware snowflake is a modern generation(slang)…it was also one of Collins English Dictionary‘s 2016 words of the year. Collins defines the term as “the young adults of the 2010s, viewed as being less resilient and more prone to taking offence than previous generations”.
https://carolcooks2.com/2020/08/29/saturday-snippets29th-august-2020/
I have an extra treat for you…Sally from Smorgasbord Magazine with her weekly roundup…Something for everyone, health advice, book reviews, book launches, something to make you smile if all else fails and from Moi ..recipes and rants…
https://smorgasbordinvitation.wordpress.com/2020/08/29/smorgasbord-blog-magazine-weekly-round-up-23rd-29th-august-2020-barbra-streisand-ireland-houston-book-reviews-childrens-books-health-and-laughter/
I will be back next week with more news and views and of course recipes…A lovely wild mushroom soup recipe and a beautiful giant jalapeno popper rolled up in a butterflied pork loin…
#gallery-0-18 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-18 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-18 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-18 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Thank you for reading and please stay safe and well…xxx
God bless you all in these turbulent times…be safe and stay well…
My hopes…for the future…
When this is all over my hope for the future is a cleaner world… I do want to see communities, and caring for your neighbour becoming the new norm…WORKING TOGETHER INSTEAD OF WORKING AGAINST EACH OTHER…Being kind to each other…Loving someone whatever their religion or skin colour…Can we make this happen? We have to but in the right way…Are we willing to make a stand? Personally, I would love to see lessons learnt ..realistically I have my doubts…
Thank you for reading be well and stay safe xxx
About Carol Taylor: Enjoying life in The Land Of Smiles I am having so much fun researching, finding new, authentic recipes both Thai and International to share with you. New recipes gleaned from those who I have met on my travels or are just passing through and stopped for a while. I hope you enjoy them.
I love shopping at the local markets, finding fresh, natural ingredients, new strange fruits and vegetable ones I have never seen or cooked with. I am generally the only European person and attract much attention and I love to try what I am offered and when I smile and say Aroy or Saab as it is here in the north I am met with much smiling.
Some of my recipes may not be in line with traditional ingredients and methods of cooking but are recipes I know and have become to love and maybe if you dare to try you will too. You will always get more than just a recipe from me as I love to research and find out what other properties the ingredients I use contain to improve our health and well being.
Exciting for me hence the title of my blog, Retired No One Told Me! I am having a wonderful ride and don’t want to get off, so if you wish to follow me on my adventures, then welcome! I hope you enjoy the ride also and if it encourages you to take a step into the unknown or untried, you know you want to…Then, I will be happy!
Thank you once again for reading this post I hope you all stay safe and healthy xx

I had asked in my Insta stories whether you guys are interested in Kbeauty product fails and, to my surprise, almost every one of you was interested! Hence, beginning the series #KbeautyFail on my blog. Today we are going to talk about 2 products from Tosowoong Vita Clinic range. If this idea intrigues you then please continue reading.
Tosowoong Spot Whitening Vita Clinic Lotion:
To be very honest, I got the lotion because the packaging resembles that of Drunk Elephant products. (Okay! Judge me now.) It retails for USD19.80 and we get 80 ml product. I got mine from jolse.com. It comes in a pump packaging and two pumps are enough for one time use.
The formula claims to fade away pigmentation, brightens skin, boosts radiance and minimises uneven skin discolouration.
It’s impossible to find the ingredients list online in English, hence I translated with the help of Google translate. (hehe).
Purified water, glycerin dipropylene glycol caprylic / capric triglyceride Hydrogenated polydecene niacinamide (20000ppm), polyglyceryl-3-manganese glucoside stearate, cyclopentasiloxane butylene (0.1 ppm), glyceryl linolinate (0.5 ppm), glyceryl arachidonate (05con, retinyl palmitate (0.1 ponl biotin (0.1 con), S0IO nokogabaine (0,01com), sodium ascorbyl phosphate (5ppm), Tocopheryl acetate (5ppm), Thiamine HCI (0.1con), Panthenol (1ppln), Polik acid (0.1ppm), Pyridoxine (0.1ppm), Bosswellia resin extract, , P-100 stearate, polyglyceryl-10 stearate cetearyl alcohol, cyclohexasiloxane, glyceryl stearate, dimethicone / Nyl dimethicone crosspolymer, acrylate / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, carbour, cetyl ethylhexanoate shea butter isohexadecane isocetes-25, alalax 1 tes-10, sodium acrylate / sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer, polysorbate 0. sorbitan oleate, hydrogenated lecithin, hydroxyethyl urea, maltitol hydroxy ethyl hexanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, perfume.
#gallery-0-5 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-5 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Lotion like consistency
Shiny appearance post application
My verdict on Tosowoong Spot Whitening Vita Clinic Lotion:
I had high expectations from this lotion, especially after coming tanned from my Malaysia trip but this did nothing. It does provide a good amount of moisturization but apart from that, nothing. The pigmentation on my skin and uneven skin colour remained just as they were. I kept using this just because I didn’t want to waste my 1400Rs. (approx.). It also leaves a shiny appearance on the skin but doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. So, if you are looking for a moisturiser, and don’t expect anything else from it, then you may give this a try.
Tosowoong Spot Brightening Vita Clinic Moisture Vitamin Pads:
These are pre-soaked pads meant for mild exfoliation, toning and moisturizing the skin. Use them as you’d normally use a toner. The tub retails for USD28.50 and there are 70 pads in it. I use them in my PM routine after double cleansing (cleansing balm/oil + facewash) followed up with a serum and moisturizer. I got this from Jolse.com as well.
For this one, there is absolutely no ingredients list whatsoever (why didn’t I check before purchasing?).
As per Jolse’s description:
It is made of microfiber fabric which is not irritating to the skin and removes dead skin cells or wastes.
Sea buckthorn extract and 13 kinds of fruit extracts make the skin clean and bright.
It can be used not only on the face but also on the elbow, knee, heel which need to exfoliate.
Contains AHA & BHA in milder concentration, suitable for daily use.
My verdict on Tosowoong Spot Brightening Vita Clinic Moisture Vitamin Pads:
This was my first time experiencing toning pads like these and I was very excited. I didn’t notice any brightening (lightening of my tan) effect but these did a good job of toner. These mildly exfoliated the dead skin and helped in removing any traces of makeup leftover during the cleansing process. I didn’t breakout while using these but the missing ingredient list is definitely a big concern for me. Also, there is a lot of liquid in the jar in addition to the 70 pads, I can’t comment on how much travel-friendly the packaging is!
I was a little sad as both the products turned out to be a bummer for me despite their high claims. But the good point was I didn’t break out at all using these (touch-wood).
Concluding my thoughts here. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

It doesn’t matter what your relationship status is, Valentine’s Day is for loving on yourself and TREATING YOURSELF!
I worked up some killer Valentine’s deals with some of these brands for you!
Most of these brands help some charity or another, which is why I love promoting them!
How To Celebrate Valentine’s Day Like A Boss
1. Comfy Jogger Pants
I’m holding my husband’s ADORABLE niece below while wearing my Sudara joggers. Sudara helps at-risk women in India escape the life of trafficking by providing them with jobs where they learn to sew fashionable products.
Get 30% off women’s items using VIPLADYBOSS – valid until March 1.
2. Anti-Aging Red Light Therapy
I always thought people aged gracefully because of genetics (and genetics do play a big part) but the older I get, the more I’m learning that people who look “ageless” actually spend a lot of time and money to look that way!
Life isn’t all about looks, but I do want to age as gracefully as possible, so I’m using Red Light Therapy (RLT) to help me with that! RLT is a therapeutic technique that uses red low-level wavelengths of light to treat skin issues, such as wrinkles, scars, and persistent wounds, among other conditions.
It’s never too early or too late to start slowing the natural aging process. Use VIPLADYBOSS for a whopping 30% off!
3. Anti-Aging Microcurrent Technology
DermawandPro uses microcurrent technology, which is a clinically tested therapy treatment that’s used in top spas and medical offices for facial contouring, toning and firming skin.
A microcurrent facial emits extremely low-voltage electrical currents (hence ‘micro’ current), which mirror your own body’s electrical currents, on a cellular level to repair damaged skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Use promo code VIPBOSSLADY for 10% off the entire site!
4. Spa Box
Here is a list of 50 relaxing spa boxes to choose from on Etsy. There are other types of boxes that you might also be interested in though, such as the brand new PMS Box – they have a “buy a box, give a box” initiative for women in need.
Read the bottom of the box below, hehe, how clever! Anyways, use LADYBOSS10 for 10% off your first order!
5. Energy Mat + Duvet
50% of our lives if not more is spent sleeping… that’s a lot of time in bed lol! I never thought too much about my bed until AFTER I got an Energy Duvet and noticed the stark difference. I literally wake up with more energy without needing to set an alarm – part of it is probably because I fall asleep faster now! I’m not sure what the science is behind it all, but all I know is that it works!
I also have a gemstone packed heating mat from the same company that really helps me with my back pain during my period. Use ladyboss10 for 10% off + free shipping OR lbbfreegift for a free energy bracelet + free shipping!
6. Shoes
I got both of these high-quality boots during Cyber Monday for just $15! But they have incredible deals no matter what and cater to your specific style. I love getting their newsletter that is specifically catered to the styles I like – at the prices I like too!
7. Menstrual Cup
I’ve been using menstrual cups for almost a decade now, basically from before they were even popular! I’ve saved SO MUCH MONEY on pads and tampons it’s ridiculous. You can use one menstrual cup for YEARS – the brand does matter according to how long they last. I like to replace mine every year though.
In addition to saving money, I have also saved tons of time. Instead of running to the bathroom all the time, I’ve literally left my cup in for 12+ hours before and it has never spilled ever. I believe that by using menstrual cups we can save a lot of the waste that goes into our oceans. Here are 5 reasons menstrual cups can improve your business and productivity.
Anyways, they come in two sizes, one for pre-birth and the second for post-birth. Use promo code VIPLADYBOSS for 20% off! Or I have a bunch of them because I’m actually doing a giveaway to encourage you to try them!

Winner will be announced March 1, 2019.

8. Backpack
I never leave the house without my laptop. I used to use sling bags and totes, but I actually have a slight curve in my spine (19 degree scoliosis) so it wasn’t the best for my back, so I looked around like crazy trying to find a cute backpack that I could also use while traveling and found this one from American Shield! Use promo code LADYBOSSBLOGGER for 20% off.
9. Courses
Of course, I had to offer a promo on my courses too. ONE DAY ONLY – 40% OFF SALE – expires Feb 14th at 11:55PM CST.

VT Cosmetics BTS Collagen Pact BLACK 21 Review:

I have a love for milkshakes, I crave them, hence part 2 of great cafes in Florence, includes the best place in town for milkshakes! Trust me, I’ve done the legwork…purely for research purposes (I like to give you thorough, trustworthy reviews and recommendations hehe).
Below are a range of cafes from low key to upmarket for you to enjoy whilst here in Florence.
Il Gelati del Bondi: Triangolo Delle Bermuda (love the name as this place is rather hidden, for all it’s on a street corner)
Address: Via Nazionale, 61/red, 50123 Firenze
This is a family run business and extremely affordable prices; their daughters and other staff are very polite and speak fantastic English which is a bonus if your Italian isn’t up to scratch. The interior is very art deco and has a pretty outdoor space, great for people watching. Their crepes are great but their milkshakes are superb which makes it the perfect pit stop if around the Duomo area.
They serve pizzas, salads, pasta dishes and of course, have a beautiful selection of gelato. Worth a visit and as you know, I love supporting family run business’.
#gallery-0-13 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-13 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Harrys Bar: Upmarket and quiet.
Address: Via Lungarno Amerigo Vespucci, 22R, 50123 Firenze
Located on the river Arno this is a beautiful, upmarket place in which the waiters wear lovely dinner jackets and serve you cocktails and great food with their cream gloves. It is more expensive than your usual ‘café’ or bistro, but worth a visit, especially at night because their cocktails are divine. Very popular place to go for the over 30s too. Wonderful outdoor eating area overlooking the river Arno and of course in a great location just off of via dei fossi.
#gallery-0-14 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-14 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-14 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-14 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Casa Café: Owned by Rosa and Jacomena
Address: Via della Spada, 47/red, 50123 Firenze
My parents and I adore this place; hidden out of the way, also next to via dei fossi and Santa Maria Novella square, is a wonderful café that is open from the crack of dawn until 8 pm at night. They will often stay open if busy; popular with the ladies who work in Dior and Louis Vuitton around the corner. They have beautiful dishes (be warned their portions are huge) and a set menu for 11 Euros. Rosa and Jacomena are very funny, speak good English and very welcoming. They welcome animals and have always taken the time to help us with our appallingly bad Italian at no extra cost. Their latte macchiatos’ are also the best in town.
Antico Forno Ghibellina:
Address: Borgo Degli Albizi 33/R, 50122
This is a very pretty cafe that serves beautifully displayed desserts and food to go. Chandeliers and antique looking chairs make this place a very relaxing, yet modern environment. The staff don’t speak very good English but pointing to what you want will do the trick.
#gallery-0-15 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-15 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
I shall save the others for part 3, until then, I hope you have a wonderful time in Florence and thank you again for all your support on social media, please continue to share and ‘like’ so that I can help others.

Welcome and good morning…This week on this topsy turvy blog of mine where nothing stays the same…most of the time the only constant is the fact my posts are food-related of course…I was challenged way back at the beginning of this year by Pete…who suggested that maybe I should use ingredients and cooking methods where the letter used, for example, was the last letter i.e Pizza(A)…
On reflection, I think it was a good idea although how I will fare when I get to some letters I am not sure if it will be doable, but, I will give it a good go… I am not one to back off if challenged…hehe
Today is the letter D ..easy as pie but not so many fruits and veggies it is more processes which I hope doesn’t bore you and at least one is new to you…
  Arrowhead…
Also known as duck potato…it has round white or bluish tubers that are full of essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. It has a taste which is similar to potatoes and chestnuts. Roots have long been a significant food source to ethnic peoples of the Americas. Tubers are separated from the ground by several methods: by using the feet, a pitchfork, or even a stick, and generally, come to the surface. quite easily.
How to Eat…
Tubers can be dried and ground into a powder, this powder can be used as gruel or combined with cereal flours and used to make bread.
American Indians slice the boiled roots into thin sections and then string them on ropes to dry in much the same way as apples.
Root raw or cooked, excellent when roasted, the texture is slightly like potatoes with a taste like sweet chestnuts.
Braised…
If something is braised then it is cooked on a low heat and very slowly a good way to cook the tougher cuts of meat and usually results in a glorious tasty gravy. Like this Beef Rendang pictured below a favourite in our house which produces a lovely thick gravy.
Broiled…
If something is broiled it is cooked under an intense heat …As a native English speaker, I would call this method of cooking grilling…Although technically one refers to a top heat and the other to heat which comes from below i.e a BBQ.
Candied…
Preserved by boiling in sugar… this method is applied to fruits which are also known as crystallized fruit or glacé fruit, which has existed since the 14th century. Whole fruit, smaller pieces of fruit, or pieces of peel, are placed in heated sugar syrup, which absorbs the moisture from within the fruit and eventually preserves it.
I love preserved ginger as did my grandmother…
Chard…
Is a green leafy vegetable which often has large stalks which are prepared separately to the leaves…Swiss chard is a favourite of mine quite simply cooked in olive oil with garlic and red pepper…
Chickweed…
As the name suggests is a weed which can grow quite prolifically on a lawn and if your pleasure is a beautifully manicured lawn then I am guessing that you don’t dig it up and eat it…Over the last few years, it has grown very popular with those who forage…
Raw, it tastes exactly like corn silk, if you’ve ever tried that. Cooked it is similar to spinach though the texture is different. It can be added to soups or stews but in the last five minutes to prevent overcooking. Unlike many wild edibles, the chickweed’s stems, leaves, flowers and seeds are all edible. It does hold nitrates and people with allergies to daisies might want to pass it by. Only the Mouse-Ear chickweed should be cooked because of texture issues. The rest of the Chickweeds can be eaten raw but I think they taste better cooked.
Coddled…
In cooking, coddled eggs are eggs that are gently or lightly cooked in water just below the boiling temperature in or out of the shell or other container. They can be partially cooked, mostly cooked, or hardly cooked at all. Poached eggs are a type of coddled egg cooked in water.
Curd…
Is the solid substance which is formed when milk turns sour which is used as a food or made into cheese…It is also the name of the broccoli and cauliflower heads which when cut into small pieces are called florets.
Devilled…
To “devil” food means to season it aggressively, perhaps with a bit of chilli or black pepper heat.
… It can also imply that the food is tinged with red (think paprika sprinkled on top of devilled eggs)
Desiccated…
In cookery is the method used to dry food by removing the moisture i.e desiccated coconut
Fiddlehead…
Are tightly furled tips of ferns again mainly collected in early spring by foraging…Foraging seems to come up a lot on this post but I do believe it is growing in popularity.
Foraged…
To forage is the act of gathering wild food…something which is very popular with the Thais it is done on a daily basis by many…As with all foraging be aware and if in doubt…don’t eat it!
#gallery-0-6 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-6 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Lily aged 7 yrs out foraging with her mummy…children are taught young here how to forage safely…
Infused…
To infuse is a method of extracting flavours from plant/fruits in water, oil or alcohol, by steeping them for a few minutes or longer i.e. tea or chilli oil…
Fruit waters are another lovely infusion. or beautiful herbs infused in olive oil wonderful over pasta…
Poached…
A method of cooking eggs or fish in water or milk with the addition of aromatics.
Seaweed…
Edible seaweed or sea vegetables are seaweeds which can be eaten or used in the preparation of food…High in fibre, vitamins and minerals, it is becoming increasingly popular around the world. It’s the best dietary source of iodine, which helps support your thyroid gland.
Sauteed…
To fry lightly in fat in a shallow open pan. It is a method of cooking which uses minimal fat over
a high heat…The word comes from the French verb sauter, which means “to jump,” and
describes not only how food reacts when placed in a hot pan but also the method of tossing the
  food in the pan.
  Scad…
The yellowtail scad is an abundant species of small inshore marine fish of the jack family, Carangidae.
The species is widespread in the Indo-Pacific region from East Africa in the west to Hawaii in the east, extending north to Japan and south to Australia.
  Shad…
The shad spends most of its life in the Atlantic Ocean but swims up freshwater rivers to spawn.   In the marine environment, shad are schooling fish. Thousands are often seen at the surface in spring, summer, and autumn. They are hard to find in the winter, as they tend to go deeper before spawning season in the range 13–18 °C (55–64 °F) they have been pulled up in nets as deep as 65 fathoms (119 m).
Like other herrings, the American shad is primarily a plankton feeder but eats small shrimp and fish eggs. Occasionally they eat small fish, but these are only a minor item in their general diet.

That’s all for this week see you in two weeks for the letter E (poutinE)
Please stay safe as it seems in some places lockdowns are being introduced again…not good xx
About Carol Taylor:
Enjoying life in The Land Of Smiles I am having so much fun researching, finding new, authentic recipes both Thai and International to share with you.
The environment is also something I am passionate about and there will be more on this on my blog this year
Exciting for me hence the title of my blog, Retired No One Told Me! I am having a wonderful ride and don’t want to get off, so if you wish to follow me on my adventures, then welcome! I hope you enjoy the ride also and if it encourages you to take a step into the unknown or untried, you know you want to…Then, I will be happy!
Please stay safe and well and follow your governments safety guidelines remember we are all in this together xxx
