take my hand, take a breath
SUMMARY: Viscount Bridgerton was stubborn, frustrating, got in his own way more often than not, and there was a melancholy about his person most times when she saw him, but she gave him more leeway than she did nearly all of the rest of the Ton.
Except when conversing with her charge before an introduction, a conversation that is decidedly not their first.
//
Or Lady Danbury notices Kate has given them the slip during the Conservatory Ball and she finds her charge having a conversation with the viscount in the garden.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: ahhh not only is this the most i've written since like october??? but this is also my first work for bridgerton. kanthony brainrot has never left me so time to put it to paper. anyway this was inspired by one of my 87 different fanfic prompts i've been posting to tumblr (on @myficprompts) in hopes others will write it but i got impatient on this one and figured i'd just do it myself. (would love to see someone take on the original prompt though! please!!!!! thanks!!!)
***
Despite the way they have butted heads since their introduction, Lady Danbury had a begrudging respect for Miss Sharma. Her obstinance in the face of harsh truths was admirable to a degree. Frustrating, to be certain. Ill-mannered, to some extent. Yet the firm set of her shoulders, straight back, and words infused with a note of smugness proved she would be a formidable gatekeeper for her sister’s suitors.
If only the miss would not write herself off so young. Old maid by the Ton’s standards, unfortunately, but by her own, she had a full life still ahead of her.
Miss Sharma may have rejected her suggestion of a match but the curious way in which she admired Viscount Anthony Bridgerton also proved that the walls fortified around her young heart were not impenetrable.
Which meant that Miss Sharma’s disappearance in the midst of her sister’s first dance raised alarm.
As much as she had written herself off, she was still under Lady Danbury’s protection. Personal declarations of not being on the marriage mart did not make her unsusceptible to being compromised or other scandal. A thought that she would have hoped Miss Sharma to consider before wandering off but as Lady Danbury learned earlier, there was still much for her to learn about the Ton.
The dowager parted ways from a nervous Lady Mary with nothing more than a quip about watching her thirst before she moved about the room. The music covered the sound of her cane clacking against the wood floor and gave Lady Danbury the ability to slink along the walls of the conservatory.
Her stop at the set of windows near the entrance door proved most fruitful. She heard the faint sounds of gentlemen departing for the smoking room and, just before she continued her search, she spied her own charge stepping into close proximity to the viscount.
In view of the ballroom and still a respectable distance to not cause scandal, Lady Danbury did not appreciate the familiar nature in which the two conversed, especially as they had not been introduced. Huffing, she made her way to the entry garden.
“…as deficient as your horsemanship. I shall bid you goodnight.”
Lady Danbury came around the hedge at the same moment as Miss Sharma, their bodies nearly colliding.
“Miss Sharma,” she drawled, resting both hands on the head of her cane. She scrutinized the young woman, her eyes traveling to the flustered man who gaped at them like a fish out of water. “Viscount Bridgerton. How curious to find you both out here. Together.”
“My apologies, Lady Danbury – ” Viscount Bridgerton attempted to speak before Miss Sharma cut in suddenly, louder.
“I simply needed air. I did not realize I had to alert you of my need for a break.” She smiled, thin-lipped and with a hint of frustration – at the viscount, at her, at the situation – before bowing her head to Lady Danbury.
“Yes, well, seeing as you are under my protection,” Lady Danbury said, a warning glance to Viscount Bridgerton as he looked equal parts fearful and thrilled at the information, “I fear I did not stress the seriousness of some of the Ton’s etiquette specificities. It is of the utmost importance that they are understood, to lessen any troubles of your sister making a good match. Understood?”
Miss Sharma bit her tongue, her eyes darting to the side to the silent viscount behind her. “Of course, Lady Danbury,” she forced out.
“Lady Danbury, if I may – ”
Her eyes narrowed as she focused on the boy she’d known since he was in leading strings. A boy no longer if the title of Rake he’d worn without care for years meant anything. She always had a soft spot for the Bridgerton family. Her own connection aside, to find a love match such as the one between Edmund and Violet, a love match that proved fruitful until the eighth viscount’s death, was a rarity in the Ton. The strength of the family bonded by that love match showed in the closeness of the children and the genuine love and affection they showered upon each other. Even when she’d watch the children squabble and fight, it was never with the nasty cold demeanor of the rest of the Ton.
Then to watch as Anthony took on the role of viscount, father, and provider before heading to university had softened her more. Lady Danbury admired the way he took care of his family and how he not only kept them afloat following his father’s death but ensured that they thrived. He was stubborn, frustrating, got in his own way more often than not, and there was a melancholy about his person most times when she saw him, but she gave him more leeway than she did nearly all of the rest of the Ton.
Except when conversing with her charge before an introduction, a conversation that is decidedly not their first. She did, after all, recall Miss Sharma’s slip of the tongue on the edge of the dance floor.
“You have done quite enough, Viscount Bridgerton.”
Her glare silenced the viscount as his mouth thinned and his brows furrowed in displeasure.
“Lady Danbury, I must go see to my sister – ”
“Your sister is being looked after by your mother, Miss Sharma. Perhaps you should let those of us seasoned within the Ton take over from here.”
Miss Sharma pressed her lips together for a moment before she responded. “With all due respect, as I mentioned earlier, I was the one to prepare my sister for her debut and I really should be helping to vet the quality of her dance partners…”
The young woman’s words never made it to Lady Danbury’s ears as her eyes were too busy taking in the scene before her. They flickered between Miss Sharma and Viscount Bridgerton with a quick and startling realization.
Cut from the same cloth, they stood before her as the eldest siblings of their families, the caretakers and providers, with strong shoulders upon which the heavy burdens of their families laid. The protectors who cannot see the wood for the trees in regards to the marriage mart.
Equals.
“Hm,” Lady Danbury cut Miss Sharma off. “A dance is a brilliant idea.”
“My lady?” Miss Sharma asked, blinking her eyes in confusion.
“Pardon me?” Viscount Bridgerton asked behind her.
Lady Danbury hit her cane against the ground. Even without the sound of its impact, the two before her stood just a hair taller. She raised her voice as the doors to the ballroom opened. “How wonderful of Viscount Bridgerton to ask for your next dance. Splendid indeed!”
Miss Sharma huffed. “He absolutely did nothing of the sort. He cannot even dance.”
Viscount Bridgerton rolled his eyes. “Now you object to my dancing abilities?”
“I saw how you nearly trampled the young miss on your last dance.”
A smug grin worked its way onto his face as he stepped closer. “So you admit to eavesdropping and watching me now?”
“As I said, it is not eavesdropping if you speak loud enough for the entire party to hear!”
Lady Danbury cleared her throat and raised her eyebrows expectantly at the two in front of her. She swung out her cane, hitting their shins and watching in satisfaction as the two stepped apart though neither were entirely pleased.
“Yes, a dance will be a nice way to tidy this situation up. Afterall,” she said, lowering her voice, “it would not do well for others to know of your conversations and familiarity prior to an introduction. And I will require to know just how familiar you are with each other.”
Miss Sharma laughed off the suggestion. “That will not be necessary, Lady Danbury. I do not host any of the, what was it,” she turned to the viscount for a moment with a saccharine smile before facing Lady Danbury once more. “Ah, yes, impeccable qualities that Viscount Bridgerton is in search of in a wife.”
This time, the huff came from the viscount’s mouth. “That is completely unfair and you know it, Miss Sharma,” he said, a teasing lilt endearing to his voice as he said her name, negating the frustration that colored it prior. He cleared his throat before she could respond and grinned at Lady Danbury much like the cat that ate the canary. “However, you are right, Lady Danbury. A dance is a wonderful idea to mitigate any chance of scandal.”
She watched in amusement as Viscount Bridgerton’s grin widened when he turned to Miss Sharma. He lifted his hand and held it out to her, waiting for a moment.
“Miss Sharma, may I have this dance?”
Despite his proud swagger, the viscount’s request came out soft and like a whisper. His eyes crinkled and his gaze warmed, melting the arrogance that so often moved him forward. For a moment, Lady Danbury felt as if she was witnessing Edmund charming Violet all over again.
Miss Sharma’s breath hitched in the back of her throat at the intimacy that laced his words and she swallowed before quietly answering her agreement. Her hand shook, though Lady Danbury assumed she was the only one to notice, as she lifted it to place in the viscount’s.
Lady Danbury hummed in satisfaction as she allowed the two to enter the ballroom before her, Viscount Bridgerton’s perfect posture only lending to the peacocking he did as he led Miss Sharma to the dance floor. If she knew the viscount as well as she believed to, his peacocking, was less of a matter of besting Miss Sharma at their undisclosed challenge and more at having her on his arm, contrary to what he was currently telling himself. The way their eyes never strayed from one another as they readied themselves only proved her point.
From the corner of her eye, she watched Violet’s jaw drop minutely before their eyes met.
Did he willingly ask…? Her oldest friend seemed to ask. Lady Danbury nodded with a smug smile. The viscount who saw finding a wife more of a duty and chore than a chance for happiness, bewitched by a so-called spinster.
The music started and the two moved in perfect harmony. Their connection was palpable and they enchanted the room as they seemed to float through each step. Only when they began to whisper amongst themselves, a mix of bickering and flirting, did Lady Danbury notice the queen’s arrival at her side.
“What an interesting season this will be,” Queen Charlotte murmured, her smile pleased and mischievous.
“Interesting, indeed.”

Do we get any MILF/DILF Kanthony energy in LH or is that more ACUPOP?
Oh Lavender Haze Kate and Anthony are in their full MILF DILF mode. From the minute Kate sits on the floor of their bathroom her hand over her eyes as her stomach churned,
"Well, Anthony, I think you got your honeymoon baby."
Anthony's head shot up from the bed, his eyes wide, "I um- Are you serious?!"
"Well, I hope so, otherwise I'm dying and I just peed on a stick for no reason."
"I'm going to be a Daddy?"
"You've been a Daddy for a long time."
"Stop being so horny," Anthony grinned, "This is a cute moment."
"You being so horny is how the cute moment was created!"
Honestly, the first photos Kate post of Anthony with Neddy nestled against his bare chest the ink she's laid into skin, a proud, soft smile on his face send her followers into something of a frenzy.
And Kate might be completely oblivious to the fact that the Dads doing the daycare pickup let their eyes follow her as she lets out an excited coo at the sight of their son: But Anthony isn't.
"Oh, there's my Neddy." Kate cooed picking him up, his hand tangling in her hair and he squealed excitedly at the sight of her, "Oh Mummy missed you, little man."
"Oh, Jesus Christ." Gary, the man who worked the front desk sighed, completely ignoring Anthony. "She's such a MILF."
Anthony cleared his throat, enjoying the way Gary startled a little, "I agree, but that's my wife and the mother of my son so let's maybe cool our jets hey Gary?"

The promo for Bridgerton Season 3 is kicking into high gear, and we’re more excited than Benedict Bridgerton in an art class. From a first-look Kanthony clip to an adorable pair of “passing the torch” interviews between the Season 2 and Season 3 lead couples, it’s officially Polin’s turn to shine — and Bridgerton knew exactly what to share for our first look at our new leads.
Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall…
Our first glimpse of Polin in action debuted on Wednesday, and it was exactly what any fan could hope for. From the first teaser poster, the Bridgerton Season 3 team has incorporated a mirror motif, which carries over into this clip. A slightly forlorn Penelope (in full glow-up mode) stands in front of a mirror. When she casts her eyes upward, Colin walks into the frame, visible in the mirror. He saunters up behind her before reaching around to brush his fingertips against hers. As she turns her head back to look at him, he gazes down at her.
It’s a far more heated interaction than we’ve seen so far from Polin. It’s also a fun, not-so-coy wink at the ongoing mirror theme. On the one hand, the mirror motif reflects (heh) the original cover of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, which features a hand mirror on white sheets. On the other hand, it’s very clearly a nod to one particular passage from that book:

hii, can you say how you made this kanthony heads effect in the background of back to cool event gif? The one from the last scene overlayed on the boat scene. it looks like a shadow and it's so good!!
Hey, it's super easy as long as you choose the right kind of scene! I just turned that scene into a silhouette:
Tumblr media
HOW TO: Make a Silhouette Gif mini explanation under the cut:
This won't be a full-fledged tutorial or anything since it's super quick!
So, the trick is picking a backlit scene, like this one where the sun is behind Kanthony (1).
First, just make it black and white (2).
Then, make it high contrast (3). I used a Levels layer to darken the blacks/mid tones and brighten the whites until I got to this silhouette!
Tumblr media
Blend your other gif on top as usual (check out our Resource Directory for some blending tutorials!). My blended gif on top of the silhouette was set to Screen. And ta-da:

Hope this helps!

What’s funny is that as Simone fans with the hindsight of s2 we can see exactly how it’s going to go with Jonny fans and all his future work. The way his costars performances are degraded bc they’re not as good as him, the chemistry praised but disregarded bc he has it with everyone, how his characters have so much more depth that any other characters, how he alone deserves awards not any of the other actors. It’s just gonna be satisfying to see it happen again and again bc right now it’s conveniently considered a purely bridgerton fandom problem but nah it’s his fans who are the problem.
they are the problem anon, they wanna make the rich attractive posh british guy a victim but at the same time they have this irritating superiority complex because they think he is best actor in bridgerton and in the world, they rear their ugly heads everytime kanthony has a hit tweet on twitter pointing out how he can have chemistry with an apple (he himself said anthony has chemistry with everyone lmao, knowing full well the hate campaign Simone was facing with that "not my kate sheffield crap posted everywhere)
I bet they're shoving the he has chemistry with an apple comments up their asses now that his costar is matt bomer

Just realized I have a thing for incredibly shrewd characters who fake being weak and sick in order to survive their awful families.
Thank you, Feng Lanxi and Cheng Shaoshang
Edit: Yin Zheng also sits at this table. Yes, man is actually sick but the acting is still there and it is much appreciated.

I truly love that, even when doing his revenge investigation, LBY is never a cold character. He might appear indifferent and stoic at a superficial level or to those he dislikes or doesn't care about , but he is actually incredibly emotional. Even his ignoring certain people or being hostile towards them usually comes from an emotional place. From the first eps, when he loses his latest lead, he tears up. When questioning criminals related to the Gu city case, he barely controls or even loses his temper. He gets bothered by things. And of course, since the first look, he gets so soft every time he looks as Ss. He is driven by passion, be it his desire for revenge and justice or love. This is why he is so frightening, and why you still root for him anyway. We not only see his (objectively morally wrong) actions, but we understand and FEEL the reasons and emotions behind them, because he feels them so intensily and is allowed to show it.
This is why the "unhinged arc" works so well. It is not that he is clear headed and collected one moment and he suddenly gets overwhelmed and starts breaking down. From the very beginning, he has been hanging by a thread that is unravelling steadily until it finally snaps. And we see it unraveling! We see him lose control and react emotionally and be deeply affected by people and situations throughout every episode. It is a gradual decline and it is so satisfying and heartbreaking when it does snap all the way because we know it is going to happen and there's no way to stop it or slow it down, and we understand why it happened and why, for his character, it makes complete sense. The build up to that moment was in the making from the start and it wouldn't have worked if Zizheng had been your typical cold and impassive military man.
Wu Lei and everyone involved in script and storytelling really did a great job at portraying such a complex and multidimensional character that is full of contradictions in a very organic and compelling way. From the expressions to the line delivery, this is the kind of work that creates a standout character that will resonate with people and leave a long lasting impression.

My #1 post of 2022
No, but the way the first eps still hit so hard, like:
That iconic introduction to LBY. So imposing and powerful, so disregarding of anything but duty.
Intro to Shaoshang being so different but equally as effective. Idk, you see that girl eating like she'll never be able to again and being a total gremlin and you're instantly attached.
First meeting is EVERYTHING. My guy is so single minded and all he has time for is finding a criminal but this girl he hasn't even seen is completely ruthless and has no qualms with selling out her elder, and my guy is actually impressed and intrigued. He's usually so done with people in general, but you can tell that she left an impression. The way he says her name. It started.
Hilarious how SS misconstrued his compliments. The thing is, if he were any other person, she'd probably be right. Little did she know then that LBY spits on social conventions.
Her sending him the evidence he needed to continue the investigation just cemented his respect. From what little he has seen of her, he already sees how resourceful and clever she is, he trusts her to have a scheme. I think he even admires her for it.
I think this is why it hits him so hard when he finally sees her at the lantern festival. It's not really love at first sight. He's admired her mind long before that, she already has his respect. That she is gorgeous and her smile is brighter than the lanterns is just what cements his crush.

Kanthony Prompt: Anthony's big smile after his night with Kate in the gazebo was so sweet. He was so happy till he realizes Kate's not there anymore. So my prompt is: What if Kate didn't leave Anthony in the morning.
She should move. She should get up. She should grab her dress and run away. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t really move. She wasn’t pinned down or anything. She could wriggle away and the grass around the gazebo would muffle her steps, she was sure of it. But everytime she looked for a means of escape, she would look over to the sleeping form beside her. And movement was impossible.
Anthony looked beautiful asleep. He looked beautiful full stop. It was a little annoying. But that beauty arrested her in that moment and the idea of him waking alone made her feel such disquiet that she couldn’t put her plan into action.
Kate couldn’t quite believe herself last night. Had it been the moonlight? The quiet of the gardens? His utter delectableness in that ball suit? Or just his words?
“Before what? Before we finally do something for ourselves?”
Kate had done everything for her family. Everything. And what was her reward? A sister who now blamed her for every little thing that had gone wrong in her life and begrudged her so much as smiling at Anthony during a dance? So when he had said for her to go inside, she hadn’t moved. She was done taking orders. She wanted to feel. She wanted to touch and be touched. And they had. Oh God, some of the things they had done, some of the noises she had made…
A droplet of water splashed onto Anthony’s face. She almost wanted to wipe it away but it seemed to have awakened him. He seemed a little surprised but not cross. And then with his eyes still closed, he smiled. It was a big indulgent smile that showcased true contentment. He rolled over and stretched his arms over her body. Her back was soon against his chest.
No getting away now!
The sky rumbled and Kate froze. Oh no… not a storm. Not now! The heavens opened and rain began to pour. She wanted to put the makeshift blanket over her head. But strong arms wrapped around her.
“It’s okay. It’s just a storm. I’m here.”
Kate allowed herself to be buried in his arms. She somehow felt more safe than she ever had.
“Don’t leave me.” She sounded like a child. It did not suit her.
“Never.” He kissed her neck. “I never will again.”

I saw your tags about the teaser poster so I’m wondering, if Netflix hired you to create the poster for season 3 what would it look like? 😄✨
Oh you don’t know what you’ve done…
I have so many concepts and I don’t know which one I’d like best. I prefer more conceptual and creative posters (the queens gambit one is great).
That’s why I actually prefer season 2’s poster over season 1. I get that people are mad that Kanthony aren’t front and center but the poster gives references to all important things that we’ll see this season and that’s what posters are supposed to do. They tell us who and what is important in the story.
Look at the Spider Man posters for example. The teaser poster gives us the a creative way on what the movie is about. And then later they released THAT???
Tumblr media
Today we really only see the mountain of floating heads so when they do make an effort in a poster that actually means something, I really appreciate them. Compare s1 and s2, they don’t compare (and I also assume we’ll get a poster that has kanthony as the forefront anyways so don't worry)
Tumblr media
For season three I have so many ideas
First off, I’d post a teaser on the Bridgerton Instagram account. It would be a photo of the invitation to the masquerade: this would be the show inviting the audience to the ball and announcing when the new season would release.
And additionally maybe partner with a mask company and make Bridgerton masks as merch??? Each mask could be inspired by a character It’s better than whatever that soap thing is
This can create anticipation and hype around the season. We don't know if the ball at the end of s2 will be the masquerade ball, but if it is...they should still do this. I don't think they'll show Benedict and Sophie meeting until s3 so they don't take attention from Kanthony so this idea can still work lol
Tumblr media
Option 1
As it looks like Pall Mall is the central focus for the season 2 design, I think the masquerade ball will likely be that for season 3. I think focusing on My Cottage would make more sense story wise since their love story really happens there, but the ball is a big selling point for the general audience and it’s too iconic not to do 🤷🏻‍♀️
I would have Sophie running away in her dress but we don’t see her face. We as the viewer would be seeing this from Benedict’s point of view and see his hand holding her glove with the Penwood crest on it.
It gives us enough information about the first part of their story and the crest lets us know what Sophie’s secret is.
Tumblr media
I assume that’s what they’ll do
Option 2
If they don’t do that I’d love for a poster of them yearning for each other.
We’d see Benedict dressed in his nice high society clothes and Sophie in her maids outfit with their hands softly and lingering on each other in hiding. For reference ⬇️
Tumblr media
With that physically presented we see that they have a class divide but desperately want to be with each other.
It could be set at Number 5 so we understand where the story takes place and that benophie are trying to hide their feelings.
Option 3
As an alternative or teaser poster I think having a shot of Benedict’s sketch book would be interesting; it’s snap shot of what will happen at My Cottage.
We see his sketches of the Lady in Silver but he never draws her full face since Benedict never saw her. And on that same page we see his drawings of Sophie too. We see that he is conflicted by his feelings for these two women but ironically they are the same person. (I didn’t draw these and just combined them to represent Benedict’s sketches)
Tumblr media
And besides his sketch book we can see the pebbles he collects, a book Sophie has been reading, and a tea set with eaten biscuits.
It just a collection of important things that happen at My Cottage.

Kanthony - 26. “I’m gonna ride a rollercoaster with you, you disgusting beautiful garbage angel.” xxx
FINALLY WRITING THIS BC... KATE SHARMA. also eventually i might make an ao3 collection for all my KA drabbles.
If someone told Kate just a few hours ago that she’d be at a full-blown college party - let alone one hosted by a Bridgerton - she would have laughed in their face.
But not only is she at a Bridgerton party - she really should reconsider her friendship with Colin, it’s much more trouble than it’s worth - but now she’s locked in a closet with a Bridgerton.
And not just any Bridgerton. In fact, has it been any other one, maybe Kate wouldn’t want to hit her head against the wall. Colin? Too smug for his own good most of the time, but pretty funny and decent company. Benedict? Fairly pleasant, actually. Daphne or Eloise? They would probably be laughing and making fun of everyone else and having a grand old time.
But no. Luck’s not on Kate’s side that night. Because as she tries hopelessly to push open the closet door, the knob twisting useless in her hands, Kate works to keep her breathing steady - because, of course, while her ponytail is coming undone and her temper is simmering, she’s locked in with a very drunk Anthony Bridgerton.
Kate rests her head against the wall. “Of all people - ” She sighs, turning to face him. There’s a small sliver of light from the doorway, enough for her to see his face in the shadows. “Well this is turning into a rollercoaster of a night.”
“And I’m gonna ride this rollercoaster with you, you disgusting beautiful garbage angel.” Anthony points at her, twirling his finger. Kate rolls her eyes and slaps his hand away when he moves to touch her hair. “Hey! That’s not angelic.”
“Yeah, that’s why I’m disgusting and garbage.” Kate flips her hair over her shoulder. “Although I’m flattered you think I’m beautiful.”
“You’ve been spending too much time with Colin,” grumbles Anthony, crossing his arms across his chest. Kate bites back a smile - he looks kind of cute like that, not that she’d ever admit it. As he leans against the wall and sinks to the floor, he almost pouts. “I forbid you to hang out with him anymore.”
“He’s my partner in Contemporary Lit. Plus he loves my mum’s cooking.”
“Fucking hell.” Anthony runs a hand through his hair. Kate isn’t sure if he’s as drunk as she previously thought, but his dark eyes seem a bit cloudy when he looks up at her. Slowly, Kate sinks to the floor across from him, leaving plenty of space between them.  “I left my phone in my room.”
“Edwina has mine.” Kate stretches out her legs in front of her. “Anyone ever come up here?”
“Not during parties.” His words are oddly coherent and he sounds sober, so Kate wonders what is going on that silly brain of his.
But quickly, Kate realizes that might be a fruitless endeavour. When the silence between them becomes too much, however, she blurts out, “So why am I a disgusting beautiful garbage angel?”
Anthony glances over at her, hints of amusement on his face. Kate isn’t sure she likes it. “I’m drunk and those are the first adjectives I thought of.” He turns his head to avoid her eyes, staring at the unmoving and locked door instead. “Don’t read into it.”
Kate narrows her eyes at the side of his face. “So you do think I’m beautiful.”
“ - and disgusting garbage - ”
“I’m flattered.”
Anthony grunts and Kate lets herself grin.
(When Colin finally discovers them almost an hour later, Kate’s hair is tousled and Anthony’s shirt looks more wrinkled than usual and when Colin narrows his eyes questioningly, Anthony just shoves him out of the way and bans him from ever speaking to Kate again.
Kate pats Colin on the shoulder with a wide smile. “See you in class on Tuesday! I’ll bring some badam burfi.”
Anthony groans loudly.)

FA. I kinda doubt Simone will be able to fit something in between now and Bridgerton filming in the summer (June?) However, who knows if she and JB will be needed right at the start. Even if they are, I suppose it’s not impossible Simone has a project announced right as it goes into production and it’s a really quick 4-6 week shoot before Bridgerton S3 films. That’s not uncommon.
I just hope Kate and Anthony aren’t in all 8 episodes like the Featheringtons and most other supporting characters tbh…because that would require they be there for the full six month shoot. Though I kinda suspect the show will unfortunately rely on their characters a lot to anchor the show and just to sustain casual audience interest going forward. Because I personally don’t rly see it for the rest of the Bridgerton kids in being able to carry a season. And with the company line emphasizing how Kate and Anthony are now both the heads of the household that signals they’ll have to be around a lot…But Simone and JB are also no longer #1 and #2 on the call sheet, so they might be able to do Bridgerton and other UK based projects simultaneously.
I love Kanthony too but I just think the show has probably peaked already and it would hinder more than help both Simone and JB’s careers to have big parts in Bridgerton going forward. It’s such a big time commitment for their not even being the leads anymore. If it were up to me they’d be in like 4 or 5 of the 8 episodes.
(This post.)
Well it could be like Phoebe with season two right? Because she was finishing a project when they started shooting season two right? Then again, she was only in a few episodes, and I think Kate and Anthony may be a full on sideplot for season three. Although, I'm just going on what Simone and Jonny have said so far, and if we take the example some of the things they said about season two vs what we actually saw, I think we can take their words with a little pinch of salt lol
Tbh I'm interested to see which direction the show will take with Jess at the helm, because there has been so much talk about season two having two competing visions? Like, the writing was sloppy and messy in so many places, and there were missed opportunities, so it will be interesting to see how season three differs to one and two. But yeah, I don't want Simone and Jonny to be hamstrung by their commitments to the show, and have to turn down other things that they really want to do because the show takes precedence.

So I saw you were open for requests. How about something terribly angsty for Kanthony? Like maybe kate couldn't have kids, and Anthony takes a mistress or something?
You really like angst don't you?
Okay, so this is heavily borrowed by a fic I wrote for Klaroline ages ago - and the prompt kind of fits. This is extreeeeeeeeeeemely OOC for Anthony, but here goes. Don't kill me. I promise I make Anthony suffer!
TW - Character death, and cheating.
______________________________________________________
The first girl was stillborn. Nothing to worry about, the midwife had said, she was young, she would bear many children.
The second girl was born barely a year later, with a head full of auburn curls and brown eyes.
They called Anthony stern and severe; she knew him to be rough, at the very start of their forced courtship he hadn’t been a gentleman, and had laid out the duties and expectations of their marriage in crisp, clear words. But when he looked down at his daughter, a simple smile on his face, she knew he wasn't as cruel as they made him out to be. Her husband was a complicated man.
The third daughter was born three months early, and didn't survive the night.
The fourth daughter was born eleven months later, her hair curlier and as dark as Kate with early signs of her father's dimples. Anthony was content and smiled in resignation.
The fifth daughter was born a year later. Anthony didn't hold her until she was 4 months old.
Then, he stopped coming to her bedchambers, stopped touching her, and stopped seeing her altogether. Without any warning, she was shifted to a smaller bedchamber as far away from Anthony' as possible, and informed by his man of business that since she could not bear her son any male heirs, her services would no longer be needed. And that he would find someone else to bear him a son.
Their marriage had been an arranged one, with the intent to provide his title an heir and his name a Viscountess, but with time she had come to love Anthony, and come to believe that he reciprocated her feelings. Which fueled her determination to speak to him before he took drastic steps.
"You could say no," she asked him, refusing to cry or expose her vulnerability as she sat on his bed. It had taken her a full week to manage to get an audience with her own husband.
"I want a son, Kate," he replied sternly, "Is that so wrong of me?" he questioned, his eyes cold and hollow, and she longed to see any sign of the man who had kissed every inch of her, who wiped her tears when the lost their child, who rocked her back to sleep when it thundered, some sign, any indication that she meant more to him than a working womb.
"Is it wrong of me to want a faithful husband?" she retorted back, tears sneaking down her cheeks and she wiped at them furiously. No, he wouldn’t get the satisfaction to see her cry. He hesitated for a second, before turning away from her as he said, "It isn't uncommon." He said softly, the Viscount disappearing for just a minute, and the man - Anthony - warm, kind, complicated, brash re-appeared.
She knew he was right; it wasn't uncommon for titled men to take lovers, but that didn't mean it didn't sting her. She had nothing more to say, no meager words would change his mind. Gathering her skirts as gracefully as she could, she made her way out of his chambers.
He spoke her name softly, making her turn around as he whispered, "I'm sorry, Kate."
And Kate could see that he wanted to be more, more than Viscount Bridgerton who existed only for duty. But he chose to close off, to treat her as such. So she could choose her pride, her dignity.
“You’re a coward, Anthony Bridgerton.” She said venomously and left his chambers.
She watched from afar, burying the pain and betrayal she felt, focusing all her attention on her daughters. She didn't know her name, she didn't want to. She saw her at times; making herself believe that Anthony had chosen a Brunette, brown-eyed girl for a reason.
She watched and ignored and mourned, until his lover gave birth to a son. Anthony no longer smiled at her, never even looked at his daughters. She was no longer the woman of the house, she was the woman who wasn't good enough.
Then she spiraled down a deep abyss that had no bottom.
-------------
Anthony heard the servants screaming as he played with his son in the garden. Handing him off to his caretaker, he ran into the mansion, following the screams.
They came from Kate's bedchambers, where he found his wife hanging from the ceiling, her tears still wet on her cheeks.
-------------
The dreams began years after her death.
Preoccupied with his own thoughts, he ventured into the wing of the house he never visited, as if fearing it would break him by its mere presence. The sound of loud giggling and running feet stopped him in his tracks, as a small girl ran out of her chambers and into the passage. Her governess screeched as she followed behind her. Charlotte, eleven years old now, was the spitting image of her mother, even at such a young age. His breath caught in his throat as he looked down at his daughter, a wave of emotions spiraling through him.
Taken aback by him, she stopped in her tracks, twirling around in her bright yellow dress as she gave him a shy, genuine smile, and in his head he saw Kate smiling at him the same way, on their wedding night all those years ago. She had her mother's smile. And his heart broke, when he realized the girl probably didn't even know he was her father. The governess grabbed her by the shoulders, gently reprimanding her for running away. Her hurried apologies fell on deaf ears, his attention focused on the small child who huffed and followed after her caretaker. He lingered by the door, watching as Charlotte asked her governess who the strange man was.
"He's your father, pumpkin," the old lady replied, fussing over the child's unruly curls.
From the small crack of the door, Anthony watched as the smile faded from his first-born face, her eyes growing dark and sad as she looked down at her feet. And in his head, he saw Kate's face when she learnt of his son.
-------------
That night, he dreamt of her for the first time.
He dreamt of the last conversation they had, he dreamt of giving in to her, he dreamt of forgetting about his need to have a son. He dreamt of not letting her walk away from him. He dreamt of never having done anything to have to apologize to her for.
He dreamt of being the Anthony that had been in love with Kate, not the coward who put his duty first.
When he woke up, he was drenched in sweat and shaking like a leaf. And never knowing, or never wanting to know, if the wetness on his cheeks was from his cold sweats or the tears he shed in the memory of his dead wife.
-------------
He dreamt of her every night, therein.
He dreamt of the day his youngest daughter was born. He dreamt of going in to see her after he was informed it was a girl. He dreamt of holding her as Kate watched him. He dreamt of suggesting that they name her after Kate's mother. He dreamt of not leaving for four months to court another woman to share his bed and bear his son.
And when he woke up, the truth of his actions haunted him. His daughter was named Mary, but by no aid of his. And by the time he first held her, he had decided that it would be the last time he would hold her, or her mother.
He dreamt of the night he betrayed his vows to Kate. He dreamt of not going through with it. He dreamt of giving into the guilt that had flooded him. He dreamt of going back to Kate, telling her that he'd rather have her and a dozen daughters than some other woman and a male heir.
But when he woke up, his wife was now the woman who bore him his son. And his daughters had no idea who he was.
-------------
Weeks later, he requested to see his daughters, a request that positively baffled their governess. It was a cruel joke, he was certain of if, for each of his daughters looked just like their mother. Mary, the youngest and the most clueless, took to him the fastest, chasing the butterflies with her sister. Charlotte, stood feet away from him, holding onto her governess' hand tightly. She was afraid of him, he could tell, and deep down, he could not blame her for fearing him.
"Come sit next to me," he said, smiling at the girl who narrowed her eyes at him. His heart ached to hold his daughter's hand, trace the light freckles on her cheek, knowing that in doing so, he'd be touching a part of Kate. He needed it like he needed his next breath. But his daughter was just like her mother, stubborn and determined, as she resolutely shook her head and disappeared behind her governess.
"Why not?" he asked, burying the sudden pain and anger he felt at her rejection.
"Because," Charlotte said bravely, poking her head out from behind her caretaker's many skirts, "You killed mother."
His eyes widened as he felt his heart drop down to his gut, watching in horror as Charlotte gave him a look that screamed disappointment and bitterness, as her governess alternated between yelling at the child and apologizing to him. His daughter was ashamed of him, he could see it in her watery eyes, and he would never be her father, just the man who took her mother away.
Three truthful words and a look of pure disappointment from a child bought the weight of his decisions down on him. His hands may be clean, but his conscience never would. He might as well have tied the noose that took his Kate's life.
A coward, through and through.
And that sent him spiraling down a deep abyss with no bottom.
-------------
He dreamt of her asking for him. He dreamt of her pleading for his help, dreamt of her feeble, pained voice calling out for him. He dreamt of rushing to her aid, dreamt of finding her injured and helpless in her chambers. He dreamt of saving her life, dreamt of holding her till she stopped crying. He dreamt of never letting her go.
When he awoke, he created a ruckus in the mansion. Breaking through every door and waking up all the servants. Like a possessed man, he screamed and howled at everything and everyone, yelling that Kate was calling for him, insisting that he heard her, crying that she was hurt and begging them to find her for him. He searched for her for hours and hours, but to no avail.
When he finally slept that night, on the cold floor of his chambers, he did so truly believing that he had killed her yet again.
-------------
And from that day onwards, the ton had a new name for him. He was no longer the cool and stern Viscount. He was now The Mad Viscount. He saw Kate everywhere, in every brunette woman on the street, every brown-eyed servant in the mansion. He saw her everywhere, he heard her everywhere, and he felt her everywhere. And he knew with every fiber of his being, that she was in pain, that she needed his help, that he could save her.
And every night, he dreamt of her calling out to him.
And every night, like a mad-man he searched for her in every corner of the mansion, in every nook and cranny of the garden, every alley of every street, begging the world to give her back to him.
But she never did.
She haunted him in his every waking and sleeping moment.
Until the day he took his life in the same place she did.

BRIDGERTON BOOK SERIES REVIEW.
So here it is, before I start I just wanted to say that I’m in no way shape or form an expert in english or literature for that matter. English is my third language and I’m studying science. Having said that, I have read all eight books in less than two weeks and I have a lot of opinions that I wanted to share so here they are. Obviously: SPOILERS AHEAD
The series in its entirety
The bridgerton series is probably the best written series that I have ever read. I loved the fact that it is made up of 8 books, but also the way the books are structured. In each of the books we focus on one of the siblings and their significant others, and even when the side characters are there, they are not really a main focus of the story. This means you can pick up a random Bridgerton book without having read the other ones and you would not feel like you are missing something. I really liked this because it meant that with each book you were getting to know a different sibling, thus you are never really bored and there wasn’t unnecessary drama happening with the already established couples, which is refreshing at the least.
However, it does have setbacks. In some of the books, you find that this side characters really change from the way they appear in the background or the other novels, and it can be difficult to digest at first. Another flaw that I found is with the brothers' books. When I was reading some of the books dedicated to the men of the family sometimes I found that we don’t spend enough time with them and when you finish the books you don’t have an understanding of who they are. Maybe I’m not making sense but I’ll elaborate in each book a little bit more.
But in the end, even these little flaws, I had a great time reading the books and finding out what was happening with the family.
My favourite book - AOFAG
I know some people have trouble ranking the Bridgerton books, especially, the favourite one, but I’m not one of them. I am obsessed with “An offer from a gentleman”, I love the story, I love Sophie, I love Benedith and I love Violet Bridgerton with all of my heart. This book is great from the start, even though b, the third book you know a happy ending is what the book is leading to, it still excites you and makes you wonder. AMAZING DARE I SAY.
Sophie is one of my favourite characters in all of the books. She has a strong morals system and you get really inspired by her. All of the things she goes through are horrible, but she still remains such a calm and kind individual that I cannot help but stan. HARD. She has very strong ideas and morals and she sticks with them even when they mean losing Benedict. I found this message really important and powerful because we usually see the opposite: people changing their views for their significant other, and I don’t think it's right. So, hereby I declare Sophie QUEEN of the Bridgerton clan.
Moving on to Benedict, I heard a little bit of criticism with his actions in this book and I see where they are coming from, but I don’t share them. I think Benedict is one of the brothers that suffers from a really deep female counterpart and as such his thoughts are not fully explored. In my opinion Benedict is tormented by the fact that he is the second Bridgerton and nothing more (similar to Colin and kinda Gregory really), and also by the fact that he lost the woman at the ball. On top of that, Sophie comes along and he starts falling for her and he feels guilty that he is falling for someone else, so he doesn’t fully commit to Sophie but also doesn’t really leave her. It’s a messed up situation and he doesn’t make the best decisions but I understand his actions and I support him. The only thing that really annoyed me about Benedict is that he doesn’t recognize Sophie at all. I wanted to hit him, hard, in the head, with a fucking piano.
Now the best of the best: Violet Bridgerton. She was the surprise character of this book in that prison scene. In the previous book you still see her and like her but she saves the day in this one, and I felt like I really knew her after that. She is not the typical ton mother, she really values their children’s happiness and takes everyone under her wing. She knows who she is and the importance her family has and she uses her powers for good. I gained so much respect for her. A surprise character and a great one.
To sum it up, Benedict and Sophie are perfect to each other, like this mellow entity. Two kind souls, always happy, always calm. Of course they live in the countryside, they could not live anywhere else.

WHEN HE WAS WICKED
This book wrecked me, I have to admit I was a mess, I could not deal. A tragic story with so much longing and guilt and despair, I love a drama, man this is great. I went in knowing the basics of it but I was not prepared.
The poor Francesca has the most devastating story in my opinion: she suffers from infertility, her husband dies, she doesn’t feel like she fits in her family, and when she falls in love Michael is sick, WHY?!. Throughout the book you get to see how strong she is, how strong-willed she is. We are not talking about this enough. She loves with all her heart and she suffers with all of it too. She and Michel have a really strong chemistry and it translates really well. I think she was really clever to wait and think before committing to Michael, and I see how she would need to see him in danger to really let herself fall completely. In the end, she knows what losing someone you love feels like and she doesn’t want to feel that again. I understand. Also, an important part of Francesca's journey is to realize that loving someone else doesn’t diminish her feelings for John, and I love how Michael acknowledges it.
Michael is a really interesting character who falls in love at first sight with the wrong woman. He is fully aware of this fact and it is really good to see that he doesn’t doubt his love for her, but is instead aware of the impossibility of doing something about it. Even when he can do something about it, his respect for his cousin is always present. The guilt he feels for loving Francesca both when John was alive and after he died is so different but so well written. It’s eating him up and It is painful to read to be honest. However, I found that said guilt disappeared rather quickly after his conversation with Colin. I may be the only one but I was a little bit put off by it, and that’s why this is not my favourite book in the series.
THE VISCOUNT WHO LOVED ME
The bees, I could talk about the bees for days after reading this one. This one has a lot of Bridgerton backstory, and it explains so much of the rest of the bunch even if not directly. So I would say not to skip it (but why would you skip any of them?).
Kate Sheffield is one of the best written characters in this series. She is complex, fierce but delicate, confident but self-conscious. I would kill for her, she deserves it. Her family dynamics are impeccable. You feel the love between these three women and the roles they have, and you get them really quickly: Edwina is the little sister, a little naive but good-hearted, Kate is the fierce older sister and Mary is the compassionate step-mother. I really enjoyed their dynamics. The introduction of Kate’s character is by presenting her goal for the season: defend her sister. When Anthony enters the pool of suitors, she obviously opposes and their back and forth shows she is very witty. But as the story goes on we get to see her insecurities and fears, in a way that it’s so in character but at the same time so different from the start. It’s amazing and I can see why she is such a fan favourite.
Anthony is a baby.We can see how Edmund’s death really scarred him, and those wounds are deep. He believes in his own demise so blindly that it is conditioning all of his decisions. He grows a lot until he is able to share them with Kate and they bond so beautifully over it. Getting to see that, was something that I loved and enjoyed so much. It makes you really connect with both of the characters and it explains so much of his behaviour, that even if he frustrates you, you can’t be mad because you understand where he comes from.
Newton is the guest star in this one and I would like to take our time to appreciate the captain of the Kanthony ship. This little dog is such a plot device, put there to cause havoc and bring Kate and Anthony together, it is so funny. He smelled Anthony and decided he wanted a new dad. Put a plan in march, probably alerted his friend, THE bee.
ROMANCING MR BRIDGERTON
The message of this book is amazing. The journey they both go through to re-know each other is beautiful. Penelope and Colin have known each other for years, and they both have a version of the other in their minds but as the story progresses they unveil hidden personality traits about each others and I love how it is acknowledge and developed into a clear message of “people are flawed and not the perfect individual you wish them to be, and that’s ok”. It is really necessary and it made me reflect on my own relationships and how I could improve them. Colin and Penelope have to be my favourite couple of the series, but, because they were because of the show and not the books, when I finished this book I was left feeling like I wanted more, and that is why it is not my favourite one.
This is the book where readers find out Penelope is Lady Whiseldown and it is a big plot line. However, this revelation is maybe halfway through the book and until then, Penelope's inner monologue doesn’t reveal anything. I would have loved to really focus on it and know from the start how she really did it but at the same time, we get to see so much of Pen’s growth anyways. She is shy and kind but when she is with someone she trusts (in this case Colin and Lady Danbury), she is full of wit and boldness. I see myself so much in these characteristics that I cannot help but make her my favourite character in the series (totally biased but it is what it is). She starts with a sense of discontent about her, she knows her fate and accepts it but, she doesn’t necessarily like it. She is trying to change the way people see her and Lady Danbury helps a lot with it. She and Colin spend a lot of the book kind of on opposite sides in part because of their own demons, she wants to prove herself and at the same time is faced with the realization that the Colin she made up in her mind is not the real one. It really makes you wonder if it’s a happy ending at the end of it, because they both have such strong points but they are so diverse. At the end, after they talk about it, their relationship is full of devotion and you feel how they are making each other focused and better. I would die for them.
Colin is such a tumultuous character and it is a stark contrast on how we get to see him in the previous and following books. He is used to putting the charm on and fooling everybody but, of course, in this book we explore his inner workings and now we know the truth. He is just a lost puppy, looking for something to do with his life, and he is so focused on this search and runnin away for his family that he doesn’t see that there is already something that he is good about: writing. His relationship with Pen is obviously key in all of this searching because it pushes his limits and makes him think. His realization, of both his vocation and his love are slow and steady. He sometimes jumps to conclusions and rushes things *ahem*the proposal*cough* but not love, and once he commits he does it fully. The “stay, stay, stay” scene is a monumental hallmark in the book. We see Colin really deciding and choosing Penelope and Lady Whistle down with all that it entails. And later on, he opens out about his jealousy over her work, but he does it when he is ready, and Pen allows him to come to her when he needs without judgement. They are so perfect it hurts.
The lack of Eloise is an insult to my soul but we get Lady Danbury as the guest star. She is on Penelope's corner helping her navigate the ton and her relationship with Colin, as a mother figure would. I believe she at least has a big suspicion that she is LW, but I might be wrong.
All-nighter books - OTWTTW, IIHK. ON THE WAY TO THE WEDDING
Gregory’s book is full of twists and turns that you just cannot put it down. Not the fact that the main female character is Lucy and not Hermoine, like Gregory thinks half of the book, just because you don’t. It is pretty clear that Lucy is our heroine so the fact that Gregory falls for her is not a twist itself because we (and Kate) already know. But in my opinion, the fact that it starts with Gregory interrupting the wedding and then it goes back and explains the backstory to you, so it is constantly leading up to it.
Lucy is not the most interesting of the female leads but it is part of her charm. She is a normal girl, her life is already arranged, so she doesn’t feel the pressure the rest of them do, she is just enjoying herself. She doesn’t believe in love, and it is so funny how in denial she is about it, until it all explodes.
Gregory’s life was influenced by her brothers before him and his big family but he feels so alone because of the age difference. He is trying to find his place in life and, because he saw all of his siblings fall in love he wants the same thing so badly, that he confuses desire with love. He is so precious, and must be protected at all costs.
The last few chapters are action packed, there’s an urgency in everyone's actions: Lucy, trying to save her family and Gregory, trying to save Lucy. I couldn’t figure out what was going to happen and that hooked me. The fact that the wedding actually takes place is the most shocking plot of all of the books.
To conclude, Gregory owns my heart and I trust him with it.
IT’S IN HIS KISS
This story is another “all-nighter”, because it revolves around a mystery and the search for Gareth’s grandmother lost jewels. This quest brings Hyacinth and Gareth together, with a lot of Lady Danbury’s help. It’s really interesting to read about the felonies they commit, all of them instigated by Hyacinth, who, in my opinion, is chaos personified.
Hyacinth is the most forward-thinking woman of this series. She is outspoken, confident, loud and apologetic. All of these traits really set her apart, because she doesn’t play by the rules of society, she does what she pleases, and she should. She is the typical little sister, a little spoiled but with a good heart. Her conversations with Violet are really touching.
Gareth on the other side, is not in a good place with his family, and it is endearing to see how shocked he is by the Bridgerton’s closeness. He has a severe lack of self love, and sees himself as an imposter, and not worthy of Hyacinth. But when he falls, OMG, HE FALLS. His attitude towards Hyacinth’s personality is amazing because he loves her exactly as she is, and knows he will be following her orders for the rest of his life. Adorable. (He is the “That’s my wife” meme).
Lady Danbury is again the guest star and it only helps to cement her as the cool grandma that we all aspire to be. An honorable mention is Anthony getting super-duper happy that all of his sisters are married and therefore he is free (my poor guy).
However, the main issue I have with this book is that the decision of getting married is really attached to Gareth’s need to vex his father, who is a horrible person, and it makes me mad.
Not my favourite books - TSPWL, TDAI
TO SIR PHILIP WITH LOVE
In this book Eloise decides running off to meet a possible husband is a great idea. Her brain, I can’t. Obviously the Bridgerton brothers follow her and force the two to marry anyways, although they were already falling in love when they found her. Phillip, Eloise's love interest is a loner and lives outside of the ton and I think that these traits really work with her because they are polar opposites but at the same time they fit so well. The relationship Eloise has with Amanda and Oliver is so cute, because you can see that these kids just need some attention and help navigating the world without her mother and Eloise is there for them.
However, even though I loved their storyline and I wanted to rank this higher I couldn’t. The other Bridgertons are a big part of this book and when I was thinking back on it the parts that I remember fondly the most are when Anthony, Benedict, Colin and Gregory arrive to kill talk to Philip, and then when Charles is ill and we get to see Benedict and Sophie as parents. So, I like this book because of side characters and not the main ones, even though I know there is nothing wrong with them. However, I do think the book is ok and I would recommend it nevertheless.
THE DUQUE AND I
I don’t have much to say about this book. The r*pe is completely unnecessary in my opinion. Daphne and Simon have terrible communication skills, but so do Kate and Anthony, for example, but still, the repercussions are not that severe. It is so much worse in the books and it has no consequences whatsoever. Up until that point, the enemies to secret dating to falling in love is such a classic thorpe that I usually like, but I cannot separate the two of them. In fact, I would advise to skip this one.
Hapily Ever After
Thank you to the heavens for this book. It is just a little exploration of all of the sibling’s future and an extra story for Violete.
Daphne’s story revolves around her last pregnancy. A surprise one when she is quite old. I found it really sweet and it looks like she and Simon are really happy with their life so good for them. Also, Colin and Penelope visit with all of their children so I’m obligated to like it.
The TVWLM continuation is a get together in Aubrey Hall for a Pall Mall rematch. I had so much fun reading it and getting to see all of the Bridgertons interact in a “relaxed” manner.
Sophie and Benedict’s story focuses on Posy and her search for a husband. She is lovely and I do want her happiness but getting to see Sophie and Benedict interact while actually together was a treat. I feel very blessed to see them be the balls of sunshine they both are.
Then we get to see how Eloise found out Lady Whisheldow’s identity. It was fun, and we get to see Pen and Eloise being friends, which we don’t get enough of in their respectives books. Colin and Penelope leaving the wedding early, was a gem. They are a couple of horny idiots and I love to see it. After that, we focus on Eloise again and we get to see a little bit more about Amanda and Oliver.
One of the main things about Francesca in her book is the fact that she wants a baby, and it is never resolved. In this one, we get to see how Francesca and Michael become parents and it's another heartbreaking one. We get to see how worried Violet is for her and also how Michael and Francesca talk and understand each other. They are one of the best relationships on this series, I said what I said.
In IIHK the diamonds are never found, but we find them here. It is great to know they were not missing and also a relief to know that Gareth was able to rescue the family even without them. The fact that Isabella actually finds them and proceeds to say nothing is hilarious. But when Hyacinth finds them the happiness she feels is so wholesome.
Then we get to see Gregory and Lucy’s twins be born (their 8th and 9th children). It is not an easy task and for a moment I was afraid for Lucy but it all works out in the end. It was filled with great moments but the one that I like the most is when Gregory says that Katherine gave him purpose in life, because he was meant to be a dad. I cried ngl.
And lastly, we meet Edmund. He is very present throughout the book but I was not expecting to grow so attached to him with this little story. It is divided in different stages of Violet’s life and obviously we get to see her romance with Edmund. I loved the little details, his behaviour reminded me of Gregory but he eats a lot like Colin so it is great to see where they get their traits from. The later parts, after he dies, show you how much importance Violet puts on remembering him and preserving his memory. They were truly soulmates, and it is such a shame that their time together was cut short.
