Ok, so I've been obsessed with Monster High since it came out, and my favorite character has always been Jackson Jekyll. And you know what? Not only is he an underrated character, but like, they made his background super detailed and complicated for like no reason. I couldn't tell you how many times I've gone on long rants trying to explain it all.

Think of this like a combination of different wikis. This is based on Generation 1, the movies from Boo York Boo York and previous, the diaries, the webisodes, and some of the books. I have not watched anything from Gen 2 or 3, which really doesn't matter because Jackson isn't in any of the reboots.

Basic Information

Jackson Jekyll and Holt Hyde are two people in the same body. They have different memories and different personalities.

Jackson Jekyll is 16 years old. His favorite color is yellow, his favorite food is mac & cheese, and his birthday is May 30th.

Holt Hyde is 16 years old. His favorite color is orange, his favorite food is hot wings, and his birthday is May 30th.

They both have a pet chameleon named Crossfade.

Jackson is a bit of a nerdy type. He enjoys wearing bow ties and sweater vests. He likes to play video games. He's crazy smart, and his favorite subject is Mad Science.

Holt has a rocker style with his everyday outfit being a red leather jacket and purple pants. He also shows more of their fire elemental side than Jackson, so he incorporates flames in all his outfits as well. He loves music, so he always wears headphones (not to mention that later becomes his trigger), and music theory is his favorite subject. He has a hot temper and can become angry very easily.

Jackson Jekyll is their default character. However, he transforms into Holt due to different triggers. His original trigger was it being either day or night where he was Jackson during the day and Holt at night. Later, his trigger changed to music with a 4/4 time signature, which is most music. In the diaries, Jackson states that his doctor believes the trigger will change at least one more time, and he is deathly afraid it will be something important that he can't avoid like taking a shower.

Jackson and Holt did not know of each other's existences until they were 16. Since their memories were different, they thought they had consistent black outs. Holt considered it just a way of life and how it was, but in the books, Jackson (thanks to the suggestion of Melody Carver) thought is was due to his extreme anxiety.

Family

Jackson Jekyll is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jekyll.

Holt Hyde is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyde.

Jackson was born half normie (mom) and half monster (dad). The thing is, his dad is not the Jekyll/Hyde. That's his mom. His mom is the normie half of the Jekyll and Hyde combo. His dad is a fire elemental.

Holt is a full monster. His mother is the Hyde, and his father is a fire elemental.

This makes Jackson and Holt half-brothers. They have different moms but the same dad.

They know they have different moms or at least more than one mom. They call her Moms in the books and diaries. Their mom (in both versions of Jekyll and Hyde as far as I can tell) is named Sydney, who is a science teacher at Merston High and likes to go by Mrs. J.

That adds on another layer because that means his dad took his mom's last name, AND his dad's last name changes depending on who his wife is because he married both the Jekyll and the Hyde. So does that mean every time he is asked his name, the dad has to be like, "I don't know. Let me call my wife,"? Like, does he just change his name every day or is he just Dr. Jekyll by default and then changes his name if he gets a call from his wife? And he's not Dr. Hyde but Mr. Hyde, so does he loses his doctorate when his wife goes crazy?

Anyway, Jackson and Holt are cousins with Heath and Harmony Burns. Harmony is Heath's older sister. Their mother is Jackson and Holt's dad's sister aka their aunt.

Friends

Jackson's best friend is Deuce Gorgon.

Jackson first met Deuce in the diaries where they played some pick-up casketball. Then, they met-met and actually started to hang out after the webisode Fear Pressure. In the episode, Jackson had started to attend Monster High but was being bullied for being a normie (or at least appearing as one), so Deuce decided to take pity on him and let him sit at his and Heath's lunch table. Later on, Deuce introduced him to others like Gil.

When they first moved to their neighborhood, which made them change schools and start attending Monster High, Jackson only became Holt during the night, so Jackson was the first one to meet their neighbors. One time, Draculaura made him a welcome-to-the-neighborhood cake, and when he returned the tin, he met Dracula of which he was not afraid and actually made a joke about stakes. This was considered weird because both normies and monsters were afraid of Dracula, for in the diaries, he was described as being like a creepy, no-nonsense Nosferatu. Later, Draculaura invited him to Clawdeen's Boo-B-Que where he met The Wolfs.

During the night, Holt would come out and walk around. There, he studied his neighbor's houses and saw them very occasionally.

Holt actually went and became a DJ with the nickname DJ Hyde. While working a party, he met Draculaura. She was dancing the Transylvania Trance. He thought she was attractive and approached her by calling her Ula D, but she became confused because they had never met before.

That adds on another thing. Apparently, they can share some memories.

Romances

Jackson and Holt had many romances.

In the books, Jackson went to Merston High. There, he met a siren named Melody Carver. They started to date, but Melody met Cleo, because Cleo also went to this school for some reason, and they hated each other. So to get Melody jealous, Cleo ended up kissing Jackson. But he felt nothing for her. Then Melody started a band and revealed Holt, which started a love triangle except Jackson didn't know about Holt, so he didn't know what she was upset about. They ended up breaking up where she then got with a gargoyle named Granite who was also into music, but unfortunately their relationship never went anywhere, and Melody and Granite never became official.

Then there was Draculaura. Jackson and Holt both liked her, but she only ever tried to date Jackson. She said in one of her diaries that they ended up "breaking up", even though they were never officially dating, because he never went to their evening dates and could never remember exactly why he didn't the next morning. Little did they know it was because of Holt.

Then there was Frankie. She slowly fell in love with him over the course of Volume II of the webisodes in episodes such as Miss Information, Hyde Your Heart, and Hyde and Shriek. She originally liked Jackson because he was the new kid, and she was fairly new too and remembered how hard it was. She even stood up against his bully, Manny Taur. But then she met Holt and became conflicted because she thought she liked both of them and had to choose between them. After she found out they were the same person, she introduced them to each other, which is how they found out about each other in the first place. She then would record them talking on her phone so that they could talk to each other, but that got old fast, so she gave them separate phones specifically for texting each other. She decided they couldn't date until they got over their differences.

There was Operetta. In the diaries, Holt said that he liked that she liked music, so they went on a date at a concert. But then Holt got angry at someone, and due to his anger issues, he got into a fight. He and Operetta were kicked out. Her dad did not like that, and they weren't allowed to date anymore.

Then there was Clair. Clair is my personal favorite and is my OTP. In the movie Ghouls Rule, Holt got arrested while he and other monsters were vandalizing the normie school of New Salem High. He transformed back into Jackson while in jail, so they let him go thinking that Holt somehow kidnapped Jackson and swapped places with him. He became a fugitive, so Jackson hid by attending New Salem High. There, he met Clair. She stood up to bullies for him and even later defended him against the police after they captured him and tried to behead him (and no, I'm not joking). They had a discussion at the end where Holt commented that while Jackson and him don't agree on much, at least they can agree on women. He tried to kiss her, but she swapped him to Jackson first and then kissed him because, well, she didn't know him that well yet. She's an anti-police, anti-racism/speciesism, goth baddie, and I love her for that.

Side Notes

Despite being a huge nerd, Jackson is actually really good at sports. Jackson and Deuce only initially became friends because of a game of casketball. In Deuce's diary, he went to the court to play, but only saw "a lame human kid" aka Jackson. He was initially going to ignore him, but then Jackson asked to play. Then it turned out that Jackson could play very well. Quote, "I was gonna slide out of there, but he asked if I wanted to play some one on one. I figured it wouldn't take long to make him look like a statue out there, but I was wrong. He had a scary good jump shot and even crossed me over a couple times. I had just started to play really hard when my glasses got knocked off and broke. Now I have to figure out a way to get home without stoning someone, but dude just took off his shades and handed them over to me. He said to keep them until I got home and he'd get them later. Told me his name is Jackson Jekyll. He said he wants a rematch. I told him any time, any place. Not a bad guy...for a human." Also, in Friday Night Frights, Jackson attempted to join the roller maze team before he was stopped by Manny Taur. Edit: I just remembered he also plays volleyball in the Gloom Beach line.

Additionally, Jackson and Holt have facial piercings and tattoos. This is very rare and somewhat strange given they are only 16 and would at least need parent's permission for the tattoos. The only other G1 characters that have tattoos, that I know of, are Operetta and Wisp from 13 Wishes. The only other characters with facial piercings, not counting ear piercings, are Clair, Cleo, and Manny Taur as Cleo has the gem under her eye, Clair has a classic lip piercing, and Manny has a septum piercing. Jackson has one tattoo of a Ying & Yang symbol on his back, and he has an eyebrow piercing on his left eyebrow. Holt has two tattoos with the same Yin & Yang tattoo and an additional face tattoo around his eye. He also has a left eyebrow piercing.

The tattoos admittedly confuse me because the fact that Jackson doesn't have one of Holt's tattoos may imply that they got the tattoos separately, so they both just so happened to pick the same tattoo and then Holt got one extra. Also, their parents had to sign off on allowing their 16 year old son to be allowed to have a face tattoo.

Edit: Some people have mentioned that Holt's face tattoo may actually be a birthmark due it being mentioned in one of the diaries. However, this doesn't make sense to me because Jackson does not have a birthmark. So like many, I believe this mention of it being a birthmark was only added after they made the design as an excuse, and it should be left up for interpretation.

Fanfic recommendation time!

I know its way past Christmas already but I found this fanfic while scrolling through AO3 and oh my God, even though its "only" 13 chapters, it felt like an entire novel! I love how you could slowly see Soap and Ghost falling for each other, even if the two didn't notice yet. rewatching transformers prime and studying its body language !!! gonna update with notes on what i see

part (season) 1 ! seasons 2 and 3 will be separate

right off the bat, you’ll notice how fluid the movements for the bots are !!! you’ll see how this is important later (lots of little movements, cliffjumper is our first example)

autobots seem to have more fluid body language than (most) decepticons

metal is HEAVY . this show handles weight distribution beautifully it’s gen stunning

starscream’s body language interestingly seems based off of cobras (his silhouette is based off of them, too)

ratchet’s eyes widened upon finding out cliffjumper’s signal went offline

optimus’ hands are often balled into fists more than idly open

i find his body language super interesting — his stance is often straight with that first point in mind ! his hands are more commonly open when talking with team prime

he’s aware of how huge he is and looks down + leans a little to make eye contact (while he’s talking to the kids in s1e01, he looks between the three a few times)

^ additional attentiveness !! he looks down at whoever’s talking to him even if he’s not replying

his eyebrows are furrowed the majority of the time, this is important later

handles smaller objects/people with gentle care

his hips sway more than megatron’s but his arms swing less HSJS

bots seem to use rear view mirrors/headlights to look around in their vehicle modes

jack put his hands up after getting off of arcee in s1e01, probably instinctively for self defense

man was clinging on for dear life every time he was on her seat during that episode LMAO

arcee is also aware of her size — she utilizes it in combat

bumblebee has VERY expressive body language !!! for example, his eyes and doors

jack has somewhat resting bitch face NFJAJSK

not particularly body language, but it’s very visible if a bot has been roughed up ! beautiful attention to detail

characters often make eye contact or just glance someone’s way when they’re talking to one another

bots are typically 2-3 times larger than humans (they know this) and a handful of them kneel when they talk to any on the ground

ratchet’s eyes widened upon seeing the humans and his posture straightened

bulkhead visibly tensed when miko went up to him

miko very obviously thought bulkhead was cool as SHIT

the sass in ratchet’s eye roll and glance to the side was horrendous LMAO

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO HOW FUCKING HUGE OPTIMUS IS . THE GROUND SHOOK

the ground shakes whenever megatron walks too !!!!

it appears that the bigger the bot, the heavier their steps are

miko seems the most relaxed out of the three about the situation in s1e01

since soundwave is nonverbal, he communicates a lot through nods, gestures, and recordings/displays on his screen

megatron is fuckinf HUGE . like dwarfing everybody else huge

he doesn’t really move much to make eye contact, but he does look down/give glances to whoever he’s talking to ! his eyebrow lifts whenever he looks to the side

his movements are precise, calculated

HIP SWAYS . WHEW

his steps are HEAVY . his arms swing more than per usual whenever he walks

ratchet did a little step after going “squish” HSJSK

agent fowler’s body language is tense at first

despite the stoic expression, optimus has somewhat emotive facial expressions ! it helps if you pay attention to his eyebrows

cliffjumper (when reanimated) has very rapid and unpredictable movements

ratchet had his hands on his hips talking about the ground bridge QHSJAJ

optimus waited for arcee before they fled the mine in s1e02

ERRATIC FUCKING MOVEMENTS WHEN MEGATRON STABBED HIMSELF WITH DARK ENERGON

the thing that got infected with it as well also had erratic movement

bulkhead is careful with handling equipment, technology, and moving around the kids — also expressive eyes

HE SHIELDED MIKO WHEN HE PICKED HER UP . FOUND FAMILY BOND IN THE MAKING

ratchet rolled his head to crack his neck in s1e03

things under the influence of dark energon after megatron Fucking Stabs Himself with It have more ragged movements than erratic

also appears to be pretty emotive with his eyebrows

miko’s ponytails droop whenever she’s upset/sick

ratchet and optimus did move a little more sluggish/slowly when ratchet pointed out their energy being sapped

all of the autobots kneel and squint at miko’s phone at some point HWJAHA

optics (specifically their pupils) appear to dilate/retract to get a closer look or zoom out

they can individually dilate/retract

soundwave’s combat appears to be stationary — he doesn’t move around much

he nods when he takes photos HAHA

both optimus and megatron are HORRENDOUSLY strong

they nearly knock each other over several times duking it out in s1e05

MIKO’S FACE LIT UP SEEING BULKHEAD

bots who don’t necessarily talk/speak coherent languages are a lot more expressive in their body language

ratchet looks fucking batshit when his eyes are completely widened LMAO

the bots talk a lot with their hands ! particularly optimus, starscream and ratchet

the general first response for self defense for bots is also to hold their hands in front of their faces

optimus and arcee’s movements were shivery before they got back to base in s1e07

bulkhead nodded at miko around a minute into s1e08 !!!

i found it interesting how makeshift also had rigid body language while mimicking wheeljack — staying true to the very first point of this study !

his expressions were more empty than per usual of what you see in bots

his eyes widened ONCE and that was it

OPTIMUS SMILED THRICE IN S1E08

bulkhead’s body language is a lot more vigorous in that same episode !

starscream subtly shakes for a second when he’s pissed LMAO

not necessarily body language but it was clear in optimus’ voice that he didn’t like agent fowler touching the driver’s wheel in s1e09 DJWKJDW

^ minimal force was bumping into mech’s vehicles apparently HAHA

bumblebee does a few little bounces before swinging at an opponent

optimus shakes his head a little after recovering from fatigue/being knocked out

HIS HEAD LEANED BACK WHEN HE HELD BACK THAT TRAIN

it also tilted a little when ratchet commed asking if everything was okay

his eyes COMPLETELY widen if he’s hurt and unable to move

not body language but optimus has little claws on the sides of his fingers . like those on construction vehicles !

bots use their headlights for communication ! (morse code)

starscream always does the gayest fucking poses before he transforms LMFAO

he is so fucking pompous . especially when he’s confident in himself

knockout is the most fucking pompous and flamboyant man you’ve ever SEEN . he immediately targeted the guy that scratched his paint in s1e11 LMAO

he pointed at the scratch later on in the episode

breakdown has the blankest stare known to man HWHAHA

bumblebee’s optics spin a lot when he makes facial expressions !

either the stereo or the wheel glows when a bot talks in their vehicle mode

breakdown stumbled a little when bumblebee shot him LMFAO

also looked away and shuddered a little when starscream scratched knockout’s paint

arcee actually has incredible balance

OPTIMUS CAME OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE NEAR THE END OF S1E11

both megatron and starscream get all up in people’s faces HAHA

arcee’s body language is much more tense upon finding airachnid’s ship

it’s subtle, but she’s shaking upon coming out of it

she shakes + flinches a lot in s1e12

HER YELLS ARE SO FUCKING GUTTURAL

^ jack was also shaking a little while waiting !

arcee and airachnid are FAST . fights between the two are vigorous and quickly paced

airachnid hisses a lot . freaky

she tapped her fingers on her arm while asking where jack scampered off to LMAO

SHE GROWLED NEAR THE END OF THE EPISODE??

ratchet shrugged a little at the start of s1e13

^ optimus stumbled a little upon entering the ship in the same episode

man shook his head like a dog that got wet

his optics flickered a little after he was returned to base in every scene he was shown in :((

ratchet was so worried about optimus in s1e13 you could see his eyebrows bro

bumblebee very subtly shook when they found megatron

arcee raised her eyebrow when ratchet said “perfect” LMAO

starscream shook his head a little as the vehicons he was talking to left in s1e13

bumblebee went 👍 HWHAHA

his doors flapped a little at one point while in megatron’s head

he also did a little shrug

^ megatron circled bumblebee somewhat in the same episode

also like the one time he willingly bent down to talk to a smaller bot

soundwave’s head twitched a little shortly before pointing out the cortical psychic patch

ratchet held out his hand in case optimus stumbled while helping him up !!!

bumblebee’s movements are much more rigid when megatron is in control ! another nod to the first point of this study

his eyebrows also raise higher ?? didn’t remember him being more emotive because of megs

his optics retract whenever megatron gains control

knockout and breakdown’s movements are more fluid than the typical decepticon’s ! i feel this was an allusion to when knockout joins the autobots

breakdown was originally supposed to join with him :(

bumblebee struggled to grab the shard of dark energon for a moment

he ran his thumb along it for a sec ,,

ratchet motioned for raf to stay behind him on the nemesis :((

ALSO THE FIRST TO GET HIM OUT OF HARM’S WAY

starscream grabbed knockout’s face and then megatron grabbed starscream’s face later on LMFAO

bumblebee tilted his head when he turned to look at miko yelling at jack in s1e15 LMAO

ops’ eyes widened upon hearing the decepticon’s ground bridge open in that same episode

reanimated skyquake's movements are more slow and ragged (animalistic, in a way ? like a predator stalking prey)

his arm moved MUCH more erratically

I have returned with more Fanart! Is it a surprise anymore?

Now what is surprising is that this isn’t towards the ChimeraEmmet Au by @raisans-art like I seem to have been doing a lot recently. I have other AUs I love and even some ideas of my own for the possible future. But just in case you thought I was over with that…

There are things possibly in the works towards that what if, though as I said in a previous post that’s gonna take at least a week if not more since I have multiple projects I’m working on(also before anyone ask, that and every project I do with the twins is PLATONIC. Even the chimeras that aren’t them anymore, the twins are still brothers. I will never ship them, it’s all platonic family stuff)

But with that out of the way, what this post is really about: the Submas Tournament! This been going on for a while now and we are officially in the final six(hopefully I counted correctly anyways). A lot of people joined in on this by submitting their own Au, making fanart, or just interacting with the posts and votings. The twins have brought us all together, whether we been in the fandom since they debuted in Gen 5, their appearances in the anime manga or masters, or recently with Ingo being a warden in Hisui where we either have him a happy ending or decided that wasn’t tragic enough. I myself joined after seeing Ingo in the Tumblr Sexyman bracket and being informed of his story as I hadn’t played Legends Arceus till recently. Yin Yang is my all time favorite symbol to use in writing and I am attached to stories that feature caring siblings due to my own siblings being such an important part of my life, so I gravitated to these two hard. Here’s hoping fir a BW3 with Emmet as a big focus point to give a true conclusion to the two’s story.

The fandom are incredibly creative with their depictions and AUs, whether it be set in universe, based on a different media, or a form of what if. Currently I myself am reading two AUs. The first is Masking, which was in the bracket but unfortunately got out in the first round. It’s about Ingo dying under mysterious circumstances and being reborn as the eldest son in a Zoroark Pack as he slowly regains his memories and practices illusions to try to get back the life he lost. That’s all I can say without giving spoilers but it’s an amazing story I highly recommend:

The second with I believe wasn’t in the bracket is an Au called Lay Your Ghosts to Rest. This is a dark and sad but really well written Au about Volo killing both Ingo and Akari in the past while cursing their souls to wander the earth forever while being unable to reunite. 150 years later Emmet learns about this on a ghost hunting show and decided to team up with Elesa to break the curse the two been suffering from and possibly find a way to prevent their deaths in the first place. Again, it’s all I can say with spoilers and both this and Masking are still ongoing but if you are able to handle some of the darker topics like trauma, anxiety attacks, and death than I 100% recommended it.

But now we only have six AUs left in the running for the crown of best Submas Au of 2023. All of them are beloved in the fandom and have a shot at taking home of the win, so let’s take a moment to highlight the ones that come this far and give them the praise they deserve(and of course, all the ones in this tournament and even the ones not nominated in deserve their attention as well. All of these stories were created with passion and heart)

Our lovely Au candidates!

Misfits Au by @hehe-hoho-ohno is a Toyland Au with our favorite conductors as toy soldiers that were created with small defects and were ostracized for it(sorry if I get any details wrong with this or any of these AUs. I’m a bad explainer) and Emmet as the current candidate for the Tournament. Admittedly and sadly I know the least about this Au as I haven’t had time to read it yet, though it is on my watchlist since from some the summary and a couple comics I’ve seen, it seems like something I will enjoy. But still, it’s an interesting concept with a nice design and one that still should get its attention. The competition is tough but Perhaps our littlest member got what it takes to win it all

Mechanical Errors Au by @marchy-emmet is about a world where Ghetsis succeeded in his eternal winter and the Subway is one of the only safe spots left. Elesa creates two robots in order to help out: one being a protection robot named Ingo designed to keep things safe and the one for the tournament, Emmet the entertainment robot designed to keep morale high. However the two start gaining sentience and emotions they were programmed with. I’ll keep all these descriptions brief since I want you all to give them a read yourself, but as someone who adores the concept of robots and the concept of how they react after gaining sentience I really enjoy the read. Also the design for robot Emmet is adorable. He may not be programmed for battles like this, but we will see if he can still pull it off.

Ghost Worm Au by @blaiddraws is the first Ingo entry I have mentioned and also the first Au I ever read going into the fandom. I’m obsessed with transformation stories and especially towards Ingo being a Pokémon since it feels fitting for him(he’s this incredibly talented trainer who forms such strong connections he didn’t even have to catch the alphas to convince them to join him in a battle and a couple of his lines in Arceus, especially towards electrode, could be seen as foreshadowing. Watch Ingo become our first rock/ghost Pokémon) to become one, so this story of him become this cool fanmade train worm before Orthworm even existed was such a fun concept. The design is perfect for the story, the comics are well drawn and still great to reread, and it feels almost like the grandpappy of the Submas AUs, at least to me. He may of died, but can he still show the fandom loves him even if he were a worm?

Under the City Street Lights/Over the Garden Wall Au by @coramatus is a perfect example of when the fandom stares at Ingo’s situation and goes “okay, but how can we make him suffer more?” A confession? I haven’t watched a full episode of Over the Garden Wall. I know it’s an amazing show and it’s only 10 episodes, but I’ve been procrastinating on it for years. I’ll hopefully watch it for Spooky Month. But even without knowing anything about the show that isn’t the Beast, this is a fantastic Au. It puts Ingo in the Woodsman shoes as he betrayed everyone to go around collecting oil to keep the lantern lit as the Beast convinced him that his brother’s soul is in there. Meanwhile the actual Emmet arrives and attempts to convince Ingo to come with him, but the latter believes he’s just a Zoroark and causes him to fall into a River. Emmet then teams you with Volo who’s now a tiny Starly to try to still save Ingo. There are written portions as well as a master post of comics depicting what happened in the story that I highly recommend. We love torturing Ingo and especially the Woodsman, so is that enough to make him win?

Team Conductors Au by @teamconductors is yet another media I’ve been putting off that still intrigued me enough to read it despite never playing a Mystery Dungeon Game. In this, Ingo is sent into the world of Mystery Dungeon as a Hisuian Sneasel with his brain somehow even more fried where he comes across Emmet as a regular Sneasel after sending out a distress call and almost dying day one of being a Pokémon. Together the two decide to form a team called Team Conductors while still wearing their now oversized jackets. This is a good read especially for those who are in the Mystery Dungeon fandom or like humans turned Pokémon stories. The Mystery Dungeon fandom is one of the strongest and more persistent fandoms ever, so is that power enough to win?

Placeholder Au by @blaiddraws again is another ongoing story narrative that definitely caught a lot of people’s eyes. It follows Emmet as he wakes up in Hisui without a clue how he got there or where Ingo is. Strange things pop up like evidence Ingo been there or everyone seeming to know Emmet despite him not knowing them. Throughout it mainly questions are popped up like what happened to Ingo, why does Emmet have these gaps in his memory, why do everyone seem to know him, and much more. I’m afraid this is all I can say without spoiling things but it is fun to try to decipher everything before the big reveal and the reveal is a satisfying payoff that leaves more questions than answers at the same time. I can’t recommend it enough and we will see how well Emmet(?) does.

Okay! Sorry I took so long to answer, I have no signal at work otherwise I would have answered in my break!

So! I’ll start by saying this AU is totally up for however you want to interpret it, so however you see Gen, that’s how they are. Skies the limit with this one!

That being said, I’m vibing with these so hard I may change my own law!

1.) Genesis is technically speaking an unfinished Vampire. They were bitten at a party in their early twenties but has never drank blood straight from a live vain so they’re not fully turned. It’s a touchy subject for Genesis because it has still changed a lot about him physically.

For example, this version of Genesis is a vegetarian and has been all their life. Now, however they struggle against blood urges and need to at least have the flavour of blood to satiate the hunger for any extended amount of time.

The idea about him being a seduction witch is amazing. This works so well with the idea that vampires have powers of suggestion! I feel as though this is one of the things Gen has a love hate relationship with because on the one hand, they can use it against people they dislikes or thinks need punished. On the other, they are terrified that they will accidentally use it on one of the boys.

As for the Claws… that going into canon. I think I wrote down somewhere that each of them have a Witch mark.

Seph it was his eyes, obviously

Cloud was glowing scars

And I think I wrote Gens was a phoenix wing but I’ve been a fool! Claws it better!

I can absolutely see them staining his fingers when he over works his magic and him being incredibly Vain about them! Maybe Zack was a little frightened at first by the prospect of them in… ahem… certain aspects of their relationship. But Gens had 26 years to know how to take care of them.

I’ll have to look into that book once I’m not swamped with work etc!

hamefura fanfic ideas

I'd like to write these someday, but I don't know for sure that I will. People liked my tpn fanfic ideas so I'm posting these too because why not. Please @ me if you make anything based on these! These are all based primarily on the anime, and much more based on the world set up by season 1 than any of the kidnapping arcs.

Give Me Your Answer, Do - Eventual Katarina/Everyone. Everyone develops Hanahaki for Katarina. Hanahaki is not a known phenomenon in Sorcier, so nobody knows what's happening except for Katarina, who read a doujin about Hanahaki in her past life. She decides she must help her friends come to terms with and confess their feelings to whoever it is they love. Hilarity, interspersed with angst, ensues. (I have very specific ideas in mind for what types of flowers all the feelings manifest as.)

My Next Life as... Five Villainesses? - Gen (With minor one-sided Everyone/Katarina, of course). This one was inspired by an idea someone else posted on AO3, but I can't find it now. Anyway, Katarina accidentally double-books an afternoon; she promised to go to Alan's concert at the same time that she would be Maria's assistant in a baking competition. She wishes for a way to be in multiple places at once, and seems to find a spell that can do just that in a book, but when she casts the spell she is instead split into the five Mini-Katarinas brought from her mind to real life! They all are in different places and run into their other friends. Hilarity, interspersed with angst, ensues. (noticing a pattern?) Specifically, Timidrina meets Keith, who becomes fiercely protective of this shy version of his big sister. Happyrina meets Geordo and gives him a bit of a wake-up call about just how chaotic it would be to have a kid with Katarina (not that it discourages him). The other match-ups are much less defined in my mind tbh.

Rose in a Fisted Glove - Geordo/Keith, possibly Maria/Katarina on the side. Geordo gets the bright idea to pretend to date someone to make Katarina jealous, but none of the girls want to help him with this plan. (Maria because tricking Katarina like that would be immoral. Mary because the idea of pretending to date Geordo is too repulsive to go through with. Sophia because she is genre savvy enough to recognize the fake dating trope when she sees it.) Mostly on a lark, he asks Keith, who accepts in hope that it will backfire and instead make Katarina jealous that he's dating somebody. Naturally, Katarina is nothing but supportive when they tell her, and especially thanks Keith for trusting her with this information. Once it's clear the plan is a bust, Geordo wants to just admit to Katarina that it was a ruse, but Keith feels bad for lying and convinces him to keep it up for a month before staging a breakup so Katarina will think the relationship was real. Hilarity, angst, you get it.

Be More Noble - Gen or maybe Sophia/Katarina. Inspired by the musical version of Be More Chill but not dependent on familiarity with it. Katarina commits an especially egregious social faux pas, and Millidiana is at her wit's end. She hears tell of a sorcerer with a potion called "Squip" that has supposedly fixed behavior problems in noble children. She sneaks it into Katarina's tea. The Squip, (which manifests as a person only Katarina can see), quickly realizes that appealing to Katarina's non-existent social insecurities will not change her behavior, and instead transforms into A-chan, and tells her that she is in fact in a Katarina-centric DLC to Fortune Lover where there are all new doom flags that she must avoid to keep herself and her friends happy, and those doom flags happen to coincide with social faux pas, such as tree-climbing, eating sweets, farming, and otherwise being Katarina-like. The squip falls in love with Katarina, naturally, but this manifests as it becoming protective of her and wanting her to become noble beyond reproach. Her friends quickly become concerned. This one is actually more angst interspersed with hilarity than the other way around.

No Title Yet! - Sophia/Katarina. What if Sophia was the one who remembered her past life instead of Katarina? As a more genre-savvy protagonist, she becomes a master of Sorcier's magic system. She eventually tells Nicol the truth because he can read her well enough to know something's different about her. She becomes the center of the world for the original "harem" who become fiercely protective of and inspired by her, though not romantically interested (except for the tsundere semi-OG!Katarina). She also fixes a lot of their game canon problems, but she does so deliberately, and in much less drastic ways. (i.e., Katarina and Keith become friendly rivals instead of abusive, Katarina and Geordo come to an understanding that their engagement is in name only, etc.)

a coping skill is something you do to make yourself feel better! it can be either unhealthy, like doing drugs, drinking alcohol, that kinda stuff, or it can be healthy like taking a bath, self-care, or in my instance, writing, talking to you guys and friends, and drinking copious amounts of coffee!

each character has a different gen they are from. Arcee and CliffJumper are from Prime. Optimus is from Bayverse, the first movie. BumbleBee is kinda all of the above, he doesn't have a distinctive version of himself. Mirage came to mind from ROTB. Jazz is from Bayverse first movie. IronHide bayverse first-second movie. Prowl and WheelJack from g1. Elita from ROTB. SideSwipe from g1...

Ratchet takes care of the unmarked omega as if he had marked them.

He doesn't tell them about Jazz. That's kinda the thing with claiming an omega you didn't mark yourself. If you are the one who's there when they wake up, they remember having sex with you instead of the actual alpha. their memories are completely removed of the other person, and instead replaced with the new alpha.

Ratchet hates having to claim Jazz's omegas. Ratchet and Jazz don't often get along all that well for many reasons, and that sure as hell doesn't help.

He does not tell Optimus, no. He can't really stand up to Jazz, it's not his place and he knows better. But he cares for and is soft with his new omega as if they were his own, and once they are gone, he won't forget them.

It's a little wonky on how to feed an omega right after they wake up. They may not be hungry for quite some time after waking up, like when reader was no longer a pure, with BumbleBee and Mirage, she lost her appetite rather quickly. But with Jazz, she was instantly starving her ass off. The most important thing with a marked/claimed omega once they wake up is to feed them.

Depending on if the alpha is an aggressive rutter or a gentle rutter, the omega may need extra care after having sex.

Watched Part 5 & Part 6 of Nick Apostolides playing RE4R. Wrote down more interesting stuff that caught my attention.

Parts 1 & 2 Parts 3 & 4

Part 5:

- Marcio clarifies the comment he made in the cast stream that he filmed on his knees was just a joke. He was never on his knees but Marcio had to look above the VA’s heads while Nick & Gen had to look down at Marcio’s knees to make sure the characters were looking at the correct eye line. The same technique was used in RE8 when VAs who filmed with Maggie (Lady Di) had to look above her head.

- Marcio keeps playfully roasting Nick for this stream like he did in Part 3.

- VAs don’t have to look exactly the same as the characters. Many people are spliced into one character such as the VA, face model, body model, body movement mocap staff, stunt mocap staff, etc.

- They did not have to improv too many lines since the script was already pretty good but Steve Kniebhily (cinematics director) was open to suggestions.

- All cutscenes were mocapped but if “some scenes was short”, then it’s just FADR (facial capture), voiceover lines are mostly for gameplay moments.

- Everyone had a blast filming RE4R as they had camaraderie and good rapport with each other, compared to other shows/games where people just come in to act and then leave.

- The VAs are asked about their fav Leon death scenes. Nick’s fav death scene to film was when Leon is brought to his knees and having his head lobbed off with an axe in 3 chops. Gen liked seeing Leon’s head get eaten while Marcio liked seeing Leon have a chainsaw put through his chest.

- Marcio had lots of fun filming the Salazar battle lines as there were angry lines, monster lines, non-monster lines (before transformation), creepy lines, etc.

- Nick accidentally eats the golden egg for the Salazar boss fight during his first try. It was hilarious. And then Leon dies so Nick gets a second try…

- Marcio was protesting against the golden egg but the stream voted for the Salazar omelette so Nick eggs Salazar on his second attempt. Gen wasn’t keen on the golden egg either since “it would make the stream shorter”.

- Marcio is disappointed by Nick’s usage of the egg but says “oh well that’s the only way you could beat me”.

- Stream votes for a rematch without the golden egg since Nick didn’t want to go to the island without having Mike Kovac (Krauser) on stream.

- Nick fights Salazar on the third try without the golden egg, he mostly uses the magnum on him.

- Marcio & Gen start cuddling their cats after the Salazar boss fight.

- Gen would be happy to play Ashley again if Capcom wants to make more stories with her.

- Gen filmed the audition for Ashley in her bedroom due to the pandemic and was happy to get the callback.

- Gen finds FADR hard to do since the VA is just alone with a head cam to capture the facial expressions and they have to look in the correct direction. There is no one else to act with.

- Gen was very bad at filming Ashley running down the stairs when Leon was trapped in the cage. She had difficulty running and looking up as the stairs she was filming on was a bit flimsy and there were no banisters for her to hold.

- Gen has spoken to the body model for Ashley. She has sent a message to Ashley’s face model but has not gotten a response yet.

- Marcio had to do a funny walk when he played the Verdugo as he had to pretend to be very heavy.

- Nick & Marcio both lost their voices during recording. Gen did not lose her voice as she did a lot of screaming for her previous acting roles so she knows how to preserve her voice.

Part 6:

- Mike has been a fan of the game since he was young and was honoured to work with Nick and many other wonderful people.

- For the Ada & Leon boat scene, Nick jokingly said Leon has so much hairspray that his hair isn’t being blown by the winds.

- Mike explains Krauser’s voice is based off James Hetfield (from the band Metallica) before he got vocal training and wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Both destroyed their voices so Krauser is also a bit raspy sounding from yelling.

- Mike likens Krauser & Leon’s relationship to Sabretooth & Wolverine.

- Nick feels all the scenes that were filmed were organic and “made sense” for the characters.

- The scene where Ashley is carried on Krauser’s shoulder, Gen was not on Mike’s shoulder due to covid restrictions (at that point in time), she was elevated on a wooden platform and had to act like she was carried away. Mike was very impressed with her performance.

- They talk about Leon’s middle name, Nick mentions how he doesn’t have one as one person in each generation of his family do not have one. Gen’s middle names are Sterling Ghost, not kidding. Mike’s middle names are Aiden Christopher and his first name was going to be Aiden until his grandfather said he would like a grandson named Mike.

- Gen talks about the audition process, she sent in a tape that was filmed in her bedroom. She was not informed what company the game was from but was told it’s a AAA game with a survival horror theme. The lines were completely different from the final product. She and her partner guessed either RE, Silent Hill or Deadspace. She got a call back for an in-person meeting on Zoom and saw Steve and other Japanese names on the screen so she narrowed it down to RE or Silent Hill. After she booked the part, she got a package that had the character design for her character and knew it was RE4. Gen was thrilled as she just switched agencies right before the pandemic and before the switch, she was asking various agencies on how they felt about her auditioning for video games. Some said “we could try” while the one she eventually signed on said “yes, we do have some actors doing video games”. This was her first video game gig after switching agencies.

- Gen did mocap (no voiceover) for a small game that had Michael Adamthwaite (Merchant) in it and both of them got along well. She did not know he was going to be in RE4R too so it was a pleasant surprise for her to meet Michael again.

- Mike got the audition notice when he was on vacation with his wife’s family. He had no printer for the 8 pages of dialogue and had a dilemma on whether he should write all 8 pages by hand… Eventually he wrote down the script and memorised everything. He got back home on the final day and sent in his tape, thinking he would not book the part. He was called back for an in-person audition and did a knife fight against no one in an empty room. He had five separate audition meetings and was only told what game it was on the fourth meeting so he changed his audition strategy to suit the game. He was elated when he got the part.

- It seems the VAs each had a 20 minute talk with Steve where they talked about anything. Gen talked about some of her fav games that coincidentally were games he directed and she did not know Steve directed them at all.

- Mike did weapons training upon getting the part even though no one asked him to. He wasn’t sure how much guns Krauser would use in the game. He then cites a video called “Surviving Edged Weapons” where there was a scene of a guy with a knife and another guy with a gun. The fella with the gun can only draw their weapon upon seeing the guy draw his knife. Gunner has to try to see how close the kniver can be before he is unable to fire the gun accurately and then die from the knife stab. The answer is every time it’s 21 feet or less, the knife wins over the gun so Krauser’s statement of knives being faster in close combat has some truth to it.

- Nick learned the one-handed gun chamber check on an air soft gun for a short film he did and asked if he could do that for Leon in RE4R. He was given the go ahead and that’s how that scene came about. It is difficult to do on a real life gun and easy to do with rubber prop weapons.

- Out of all the lines they recorded different versions for, Ashley’s chandelier line had the most number of variations. There were some versions when Ashley did sound pissed, or sounded like a mom, or sounded very impressed. They wanted Ashley to be both kind of scolding & impressed at the same time.

- Mike has a wall of weapons due to his work. If he can’t use a bladed weapon, his weapon of choice would be a sap.

- Nick & Gen had a lot of fun filming the scene where Saddler controls Ashley. Nick found it difficult to twitch while standing still on the spot.

- Mike was very surprised by the very thirsty DMs for ASMR stuff. Nick has had people requesting him for feet pics. Gen just avoids her DMs entirely.

- PSA: Please respect the VAs and don’t DM them with requests to fulfil your kinky fantasies. They won’t yuck someone’s yum but they are just not into that. They are human too and that’s not the reason they have social media. Gen said if she was into that, she would have Onlyfans but she doesn’t. So if you want your fantasies fulfilled, go to Onlyfans and not IG DMs.

- Steve really liked the idea of Leon & Krauser jumping into scenes. Mike said his legs & knees had quite a workout while filming.

- Mike had a lot of fun recording lines of Krauser intimidating Leon.

- Mike jokes about Krauser oiling himself “to make him fight better” and the washboard abs that you can do laundry on.

- Nick & Mike were riffing off each other for the final Krauser battle especially when Krauser says “Training’s not done. Last lesson starts now”. and Leon responds with “Nah. Time for the teacher to be taught.”

- Other outtakes they did for the above lines were “I didn’t sign up for this class.”, I’ll see you in detention.”, “You’re just mad because the teacher didn’t give you a gold star., “Time to clap the chalk erasers.”, “You’re suspended, rookie.”

- Mike was happy to have two mutated arms instead of one in this game. Krauser’s right claw arm was initially a hammer arm.

- For Krauser’s death scene, Mike remarks Krauser can’t pick up the weapon he loves so much ‘cos he essentially ruined himself.

- At one point in the initial script for Krauser’s death scene, Krauser was supposed to put his hand on top of Leon’s to force the knife down but they realised the monster arms won’t really allow Krauser to do that.

I just wanted to waffle about these fuckers don’t mind me

1 [Star Song]

I tried to faithfully recreate how the colors looked on paper digitally (because 95% of my art was on paper at the time)

I can't remember what the black spots or red streaks were about

I know I put ties & bow ties on many characters during my times of gender confusion

The style of hair is a result of the times of the show, many background characters would often have rainbow dash looking hair, and while most of it is based off of the mare style, the back part is specifically the stallion

The wings are a result of the fandom at the time, with many people adding color to wings because of Cadence

2 [Star Song]

This one isn't exactly a TV head it's technically called a droid, this character was created very quickly in an ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ for the ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ fandom

In their quick creation I basically reused most of the colors from the pony because I didn't have time to be creative

Many of their design aspects between both results you see here are because of challenge posted on the ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛

Even the character being a fusion is because of these posts - however because of one person saying oh like "Garnet from Steven universe?" I've always explained the character in reference to Garnet (a character I didn't know, from the show I didn't watch)

3 [Star Song]

At this point the character being a fusion had been long established on the ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ and I had added more colour to the hair to make them full rainbow when combined and half rainbows when split. This is supported by the heart on the chest and the heterochromia

Sometime between the first design and this design, one half of the fusion became male (gender confusion strikes again)

4 [Star & Musica]

These characters were again rapidly created as a result of fleeing the ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ - ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ now you can see how they split, hot & cold

While one of them was always more prone to anger, and lashing out when the other one was much quieter, and kept to themselves - polar opposites in the most boring way possible

Things like this where it's painful how lazily these were created, literally the only thing I changed about the designs was what they were, they were no longer a droid they were now humans, I didn't change their eyes didn't change their hair didn't even change their names

5 [Maya & Sam]

Wow I Actually Leared How To Colour A Character Without Making Your Eyes BLEED, It's A MIRACLE

I also stopped being a fucking coward and gave Sam his shaven sides that I had wanted to forever

And I made him trans in a way that made sense

Sam is his own person now with his own skills and abilities

He’s a gymnast and artist who practices astrology and studies chemistry

(although he's still neglected in comparison because I haven't been able to flesh him out as much as Maya, he's still much more of a character than before)

Despite the history of her original creation (and past gens) Maya has become my most fleshed out character out of any fandom (even earning multiple timelines, ex. the purple)

The scars on her lips were transformed into “joker” like scars on her mouth and they aren’t random (ex. the ones on her cheeks before)

Her grey teeth, rather than the off-white yellow that Sam has, is not a mistake either - the real ones were shattered in a fight

Same with the robotic arms being extra arms and not replacement ones, as well as the beep head not being permanent - she wants to remain has human as possible while still experiencing her work

I also changed their hot and cold, dynamic to Ying and Yang one and actually fleshed it out is that they have similarities and differences like real siblings

6 [Star Song]

Again I learned how to digitally color properly

Now with later seasons having more detailed background characters I felt more confident making a more unique design

Darkening the coat, throwing away the green and yellow, getting rid of those weird marks and tie

The hair now being just three shades/hues of blue that fit well over the cooler purple

They are no longer just a full pony

The wings being princess size rather than a normal Pegasus (+being unable to fly properly) and being a taller body type make them more unique

The heart on the hoof is a call back to gen 3 dolls

The feathers on the ears and legs are from hippogriffs

Coloured horseshoes/wings and the design of the feathered legs are from Gen 5 (the last being concept art only)

Anyways that’s all I wanted to waffle about for now, this whole page was about looking how far I’ve come with these characters and seeing how much I’ve learned over the years.

Looking back through my old art and looking at these old designs as I went... I can really see how some of my special interests in certain cartoons influenced the way I drew. One day I might go back and analyze all of it and write it all out for my own sake of self study... But not now

Mysteries of the Deep

Part 1: Shark in the Water

Summary: Over time, K'uk'ulkan has encountered many things in the deep that were inexplicable. He has three encounters that greatly shaped Aj K'uk'ulkan as a god, king, and man.

A/N: Hi, I uh, keep writing things and posting them on the internet (here and A03). This is a little something I threw together cause I liked the idea of a human boy becoming a man that becomes a god based on devotion or belief from their devotees. He's still a mutant and I like the idea of learning about the surface over a few hundred years through different means. And maybe him falling in love at some point. There are references to real world experiences and the death caused by colonialism because...that happened. Thank you for reading.

There had been an uptake in sharks in the south eastern boundaries of Talokan. Before sending hunting parties to cull their numbers, the young leader left to assess the situation. He did not want to be brash and cull a pack if something else was to cause. And the further he swam out, the more he realized he may be seeing the cause of it straight ahead. No matter how long they stayed down here, that did not make them sea life that could communicate with other sea-life beyond animal companionship. He had decided not to bring an orca with him in case he was attacked and needed to evade aerially.

Ahead of him in the distance, he could see what he would only be able to describe as a fish person. The waters towards that direction were brighter than the ones near the ridge he called home, and clear as day, he saw the woman of the body connected to the tail of a large fish. A very large fish, maybe larger than any whale he knew of. He was not sure what that creature had to do with the sharks, but he would retreat before it noticed and potentially engaged him. But as he turned to retreat, he heard a voice behind him? It was more like it surrounded him.

“Hello little boy-god.” The entity said and he turned around, not wanting to have this creature at his back only to see it was even closer. It was as if the largest Talokanil woman became slightly green while above water and partially transformed into a fish on her return. The being was larger than Talokan itself. She had strings of shells and pearls falling to her shoulders like hair and smiled broadly with blue full lips as she looked down at him. He has explored many things in theses waters in his long life but had not seen anything like this...person?

“Who are you and what are you doing here?” he asked, spear in hand, and calculating how he could evade such a fast moving and large being.

“Ah, my children called for me and I came to lay them to rest.” She said while twirling in a circle. Her tail was very long and the scales of it were iridescent, as if she oiled them. She returned to facing him, hopefully not noticing he had retreated a bit. “A long journey from where I usually roam but a worthy destination no matter the distance.”

“You have no children here, these are the waters of my people, my children.” He said as she continued smiling down at him, hopefully not noticing that he was further away.

“Oh is this your domain, little god?” she asked with a smile in the tone of her voice. How was she finding away to communicate with him without moving her mouth?

“Yes and I would advise you leave.” He said, resenting the word 'little' coming before his rank.

“But I have work here, a duty. What do you call yourself doing, child?” she said floating towards him slowly. The smallest of challenges in her words straightened his spine and he stopped backing away. He would face this…whatever this person was and be victorious.

“I am no child, I have been here for nearly a century.” He said, thinking of his visage. It had been 90 years in their new calendar but he still looked the way he had in childhood. His mother had more children after him, all blue, and enough time had passed that their children have reached adulthood. But he was still in this body.

“Oh boy god of- what are you the god of?” she asked placing her chin in her palm and resting her elbow on her forearm.

“I am a devotee, patron of Chaac, foretold by our shaman that will lead our people forward.”

“Way down here, with no rain." she said looking over both her shoulders, the shells flashing in the diffused light. She looked at him again with smile on her face. "Are you sure? What do they call you?”

“Kinich.” A name his mother gave him. He would ascend to Aj K’uk’ulkan, but he was not ready for that yet, he had more to discover. He still hadn't figure how to find a way return his mother to her home, sharks be damned.

“A sun god. For the Maya. Why are you down here little light? So far from your domain.” She said, knowledgeable of his people, of their gods, even though her blueness seemed to be the only thing she had in common with them. He did not even have that in common with them.

“This is where I belong. I breathe here as freely as you.” he said as if defending himself like he had to when he was young.

“I do not doubt you little god, I see your wings, but you have some growing to do. You will reach true god head, yet.” Her kind words startled him because he finally realized he heard her in his own head. Could she hear his thoughts in here as well? “Let me show you something.”

“Did you-” he began to question before her request. But she reached out a hand to him and his fear had long faded so he stepped into the center of her palm. She quickly turned and swam at an alarming speed towards the direction he originally sought, until they were upon his the subject of his search.

“I had to be born, too. I have many years of experience in growing and watching others grow faster than me. As well as seeing endings.” She said, placing him on her shoulder so he could see at her level at what she looked at. “That is why I am here, my children were taken and tried escaping but met their endings.”

“The sharks." There had been surface dwellers trying to escape into the waters like his people. But they did not speak to Chaac. They did not grow gills and keep breathing. And if this happened enough, this probably attracted the sharks as well.

“Yes, I’m glad you’ve noticed. I am here to take them back to their final resting place. This is far from their home.” She said looking out into the active busy waters. The sharks do not swim towards them, survival instinct would not have them confront such a colossal being.

“Was it the conquistadors?” he said feeling a burning anger at the thought of this happening to even more people. The conquistadors had torn through these waters for 100 years before they reached his peoples. He prayed that they could be stopped when learning about them from the elders.

“Yes and the others from their lands near the cold waters. Some do not escape and end up away from the surface of the water, where it is harder to reach me.” She said, with a sadness and anger in her voice. But I will swim these waters for them, bring them to peace and to the feeling of home, even if it is not their home proper.”

The words reinvigorated the commitment to keeping with the promise he made to his mother. To bring her home, to the land she came from. He did not understand the connection to the surface but many of the former surface dwellers had a longing he could not ignore.

Maybe this large goddess was meant to help him see that he was building a home for those to come but still needed to honor those who brought them to the sea and their past. Wait a goddess, she called him little god before, that is what she must be.

“Are you a goddess?” he asked this being, never having encountered someone close to what he was, maybe. Who had lived for so long that he became responsible for seeing and remembering for dozens. Responsible for the wellbeing of so many.

“I may not have birthed them, but I have become the mother of so many. And when my name is called across these waters, Danto is the name that reaches me.”

End note: Danto is based on one of Lasiren's sisters but with a more fantastical interpretation. I think I made her to be about 120 feet long, longer than most whales and great sharks, and would be totally terrifying whether Kinich (what I call young K'uk'ulkan, check my lore story for Namor) was 10 years or 100 years old. re: comic i just made. i was going to talk about my two concept art teachers and their differing views on AI art but it got too clunky.

basically the one who works in the industry is indifferent and just sees it as another tool, like kit/photobashing. he sees it as transformative enough, and says that it should be used as a springboard, not a replacement.

the one that works in academia is slightly disgusted at any kind of ai art. he sees it as stealing, but tentatively says it’s okay for inspiration. just don’t call it yours.

i think like with any new medium/tool/software, there are “low-effort” ways and there are “proper” ways. of course, that is subjective.

i personally think it’s nice that people who normally cannot draw, disabled or otherwise, can use tools like stable diffusion to express themselves.

i don’t think AI is going to “replace” industry artists. out of hundreds of job postings for digital artists (2D, 3D, technical, teaching, etc) i have seen and have been painfully applying to (in California’s Silicon Valley/Bay Area, Los Angeles area, remote work based in the USA, and throughout Sweden)… only one (1) asks for familiarity with AI and an open mind to “incorporate into your workflow” because it was from an AI model-making startup.

even with how advanced AI image gen is becoming, since the copyright issues around them are unsettled and it’s controversial, companies are not going all-in on them. they still want human artists.

of course, i don’t really like how it is monetized. but i also don’t like how Adobe monetizes Photoshop and Illustrator and all its other products. In fact, i fucking hate it!

obviously, the software itself is not the issue, photoshop as a tool isn’t evil to use. same with Stable Diffusion—which, by the way, you can run on your computer locally, if you have the processing power.

Izuku Midoriya was taken in by his father following his parent's quiet divorce. Six years later the villain Keitaro makes his debut, known only by name to a selective group of people. 15-year-old Izuku Midoria is accepted into UA Hero School two years after that. No one thinks these facts are connected, but they are.

Or, Izuku is taken by his father at eight and forced to become a villain and a mole at UA. He hates it, but he knows his father will only make him hurt more if he shows a sign of his discomfort.

FINAL supplements

These were originally prices of worldbuilding text on the DVDs for final, the GGG DVD included them with explanations.

1: A leaflet explaining GaoFighGar distributed at the 1st GGG Convention, at G-Island City in 2007, touting the 2nd Gen Ul-Tech Engines and Programs Rings. The convention was held between GaoFighGar successfully forming in January 2007 and the battle in Paris in July.

2: The main theme song of "Les Vierges d'acier" an unauthorised film about KoRyu and AnRyu made due to their fame in France. Unable to get the robots themselves, human actors were case, which contributed to the films poor performance.

3: Transcript of a dialogue between Mobile Unit Captain Evoluder GUY, Volfogg, Porc-Auro, and the American and Russian Intelligence Robots, immediately prior to the commencement of Operation Mermaid Tears in Copenhagen, on 2006/08/07. The missions was to Rescue Mode Warp personnel from a hostage situation. Porc-Auto was only able to run support, as he is currently mounted in a non-transforming vehicle. The American and Russian units are prone to squabbling.

4: A draft of Rose Approval's statement on GGG's exile, with some areas replaced due to being worded too strongly either positively or negatively, even if she supported their actions.

5: An email sent from Shuu to Gimlet on March 31, declaring himself the ideal candidate for the ZMC Project all subjects so far having died, and confessing his reasons for wanting this, asking to be be recommended for the role to Thanatos. Bionet acquired some Zonder Metal after the EI-01 incident, and used it to develop Metal Cyborg technology.

6: A Diary entry by Dr. Shishioh Leo on 2003/10/11. The Mecha Lion has been officially renamed Galeon after the data was found in it's Black Box, and he marvels at it's flying under it's own power and managing to penetrate EI-01'S barrier when it saved Gai. He has now determined looking at Galeon's structure that it was designed to be the central component of a larger being, and while they don't have those other components, he knows they have to recreate said components. Obviously, Galeon was originally the central component of Genesic GaoGaiGar, but they didn't have the Genesic Machines.

7: Message exchange between the weather girl who became EI-22, and Kazamatsuri Sumire, over July and August 2007. On 07/07/30, The weather girl returned from holiday in snowy Paris, and wonders about the GaoGaiGar, GaoFighGar fight. Sumire is worried the fish that Valnar eats will run out. On 07/08/09 they react to GGG's exile. On 07/08/12 the weather girl invited Sumire to the Pikkapika Parade after Bottom the World had to cancel the Chika parade due to flooding, but Sumire is to concerned about Valnar, what with whales washing up. On 07/08/22, Sumire tells her friend to keep strong in the face of the devastation, and trust in GGG.

8: A note from Rose Approval requesting that if humanity is destroyed by the devastation, that Taiga and Hyuma lead the survivors of GGG as the Jew humanity. She hopes the Key to Victory she gave Swan will be unnecessary, but understands the Goldion Crusher may be needed. This was part of a Last Will and Testament she prepared in case of humanity falling.

Project Z

A short picture drama included with the GGG boxset as promotion for what would eventually become GaoGaiGar Vs Betterman. They'll definitely be a little repeating myself when I start reading that.

Lamia narrates on the final battle approaching him and his fellow Somniums, 6 new allies are shown to us.

Mamoru sends a message to Hana asking about things of G-Island, and asking after Yosef and the puppies. He's current at GGG Space Centre in America, working with Yaginuma and Takanohashi, who Rose Approval pardoned. Kaidou has been is Australia seeing Yuka. The Orbit Base has been installed with a new Division Ship, and a new NeuroMechanoid, and the GaoMachines are being recreates, Mamoru and Kaidou will serve as Head Divers. He hopes the plan to save GGG will succeed.

In a test of the new Kakuseijin GaiGo, Mamoru, in the Womb Head, communicates with the Space Center, specifically Yamajii of Akamatsu Industries, the company contracted to created Kakuseijin GaiGo. In order to use Fusion Kakuseijin GaiGo has to be in Active Mode, controlled by Kaido from Cereb Head, but the programming needs work. They cannot proceed with Project Z until Fusion works, so they can escort Division VI; Infinite Connected Tank Ship Mizuha to Jupiter to harness THE POWER. Wile for Mamoru, Kaidou and even Akamatsu this is in aid of saving GGG, it also represents an advance of the Space Energy Development Plan.

Understanding their position, Mamoru tries to give Kaidou control, but there's no connection, and Kakuseijin GaiGo crashes into the sea, Mamoru escapes in Purification Mode, but Kaidou doesn't emerge. Lamia communicates with Mamoru, telling him the time is now. Mamoru remembers him from communicating in the Trinary Star System, but doesn't understand Somniums, and is warned of the dangers to come, before Lamia leaves atop a glowing jellyfish.

Mamoru remembers Kaidou, and manages to telekinetically pill Kakuseijin GaiGo out of the water, but Kaidou is unconscious. Mamoru sees what he thinks is the sun, but realises is something else. The Somnium are ready, while Mamoru thinks about everyone he needs to save (Stallion and Piggy don't get name checked, and I'm not sure if he knows Papillon is dead) then realises with a start the brilliant light in the sky looks like a form of a flaming Genesic GaoGaiGar, possibly using THE POWER, is this the Conquering King Lamia warned him of.
