Headmaster Dumbledore is sure that the ghosts of Hogwarts were hiding something. He’d be the first to admit that he’s nosy when it came to things like these, but he simply doesn’t have the time. Whatever that lingered these halls, he’s sure does not mean Hogwarts any harm. The ghosts would not protect it if it did.
Albus Dumbledore Hummer around a lemon drop as his quill scratched over endless parchment paper.
His wand glowed green for a brief second, an acknowledgement, and settled down into its current owner’s hold.
——
Danny Phantom hadn’t thought the castle he found during the summer months in this universe would be… so full of life. Not when there were ghosts, floating around like the castle were their own home.
Magic.
They were ghosts made of magic.
His core struggled, at first, to survive. Then, it took the magic and thrived.
He floated, invisible amongst the glittering candles beneath the imitated night sky, and watched students file in.
Quite different, from his own entrance.
He had floated into the tower, having felt a hint of resistance that he knew now were the castle wards. The ghosts, what he thought were ghosts before he realized ectoplasmic ghosts existed, stopped dead. Hah.
The shades dancing and whirling and conversing froze as he entered the tower. Life and death, and the beings that walked the line, stopped at the arrival of the One Who is the Line. The boy king wreathed in black and green glanced around.
“Hello. I’m Phantom.”
“The High King,” a ghost whispered. “Our king.”
“He’s an American?” Another one asked, scandalized. Danny, surrounded by those who he recognized as his, cracked the first smile he’s had in a while.
“Who cares? He’s…” The knight sunk to his knees, bowing with his ghostly sword in front of him.
The ghosts bowed. Danny floated in further. “Can you tell me where I am?”
“Of course.”
——
Now… he’s watching the children get Sorted. Weird, for a hat to decide your classmates, but whatever.
Harry Potter’s name is called, and the whispers broke out. He doesn’t know why, but Danny couldn’t ask the ghosts. They barely know the current headmaster, as the dead generally care only for their own times.
Danny decides to visit the lake octopus. Lake squid? Something like that. The mer people beneath the waters liked him, the last time he went. The Sorting is put out of Danny’s mind. He’s dead now, too. The only thing he cares about now is to explore the vast halls of Hogwarts and the occasional visit to the kitchen to steal some food for his living body.
(Thank the Ancients he found a house elf who knew what seasoning was.)
(Sometimes, Danny flew to where his home would have been and gets comfort food at the nearest town. He missed it, but he can’t go back.)
The ghosts know by now to call for Phantom should they need something (“I’m American,” he joked at the ghost. “We’re not big on kings. You can just call me Phantom.”)
——
The third year he’s there, Danny feels the effects of Clockwork’s power. When he investigates, it’s the red headed girl he once saw leaving the library, paper clutched in her hand.
She helped save one of his subjects, so he owes her. Plus, if she’s using Clockwork’s powers, this Hermione has potential.
And… she’s using it to study.
She reminds him of Jazz.
——
A wave of ice crackled and froze the fleeing rat and the feral wolf man.
“What?!” Harry screeched to a stop, eyes wide at the ghost child in front of him.
Danny turned, and landed gently on the ground. Snape snarled at him in suspicion. Danny allowed himself to become living again, black hair and blue eyes and tan skin replacing the white, green, black thing his dead form had.
“Who’re you?” The red-headed boy, Ron?, asked him through gritted teeth.
Danny smiled at them, dimples appearing. “A friend.”
Before the trio and co. could say anything, Danny whips his head around, palm coming up.
“Stop.” He orders. The creeping sense of cold and dread shuttered to a stop. “Go over there,” he said, and the dementors, hovering at the edge of his periphery obeyed. Danny turned back to the mildly terrified and flummoxed group.
“Let’s go. You’re all going to catch a cold, if you don’t move it. Especially you, scrawny and greasy.” He pointed at the godfather and Snape.
——
“Hey, Danny?”
“What, Harry?”
“Why’d you help us? I mean, you said you didn’t want to involve yourself in stuff like that.”
Danny hummed, wisped tail curling up against him as he soaked in the sun’s rays. “Because you reminded me of myself. And in the end, you died.”
“You literally brought me back,” Harry deadpanned, remembering the place between life and death, and how the angry Danny was when he stormed onto that train platform. The King had taken him by the scruff of his shirt collar like a particularly incensed mother cat, and dragged him off away from a puzzled Dumbledore.
“You were being stupid. You’re too young to die.”
“Like you?”
Danny snorted. “Nah. I didn’t have a choice.”

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 2 MASHUP 7
Alphys (Undertale) vs Jade Harley (Homestuck)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alphys is a Roboticist, Biologist and Souls/Determination Researcher!
Jade Harley is a Nuclear Physicist!
Why you should vote for each contestant:
Alphys:
"Because she messed with DETERMINATION and made Amalgamates, blending monsters into each other to form horrible combinations of undead beings. She’s a lesbian"
"Man made horrors, overwhelming guilt, cute lizard girl, bisexual"
"SHE'S SO CUTE. She's awkward and shy but you can tell she knows a lot about what she does!! She's also a bit of a tragic character considering her biological endeavors have gone kinda. wrong. SHE'S BI AND LIKE ANIME 🫶"
"Ultra qualified women with deep scientific knowledge who are also massive anime nerds and can't hold a simple conversation represent!"
"idk she's kind of just. The Royal Scientist . built a robot and put a soul in it. tried to bring monsters back to life, this failed miserably. did research on souls and determination. has a kickass lab. also nerdy as hell and can't just. tell the truth to save her life. love her"
"I don't think we have a word for "works with SOULs and DETERMINATION, including fusing ghosts with robot bodies and creating immortal abominations of multiple people stuck together." I guess you could probably just put her down as Robotics. Mechatronics or something. Like sure she melted a bunch of guys, but she takes responsibility! Feeds em dog food! That takes responsibility. Bisexual"
"She had a friend who was a ghost, and they wanted to be famous! So she used her knowledge of robotics to build them a new body how they wanted! He became famous, as he wished! And Alphys worked on a bigger, better body that fit him well, though it used up a lot of power and needed more upgrades, hence why it wasn’t used often until the final battle with him (Him being Mettaton). But basically, Mettaton got a new body the way he liked it, changed his name, and started going by different pronouns (Mettaton is only ever referred to by they/them when people reference the ghost). Alphys allowed him to feel much happier as himself, and they’re great friends! Though, she did pretend that she created Mettaton and his SOUL herself, no ghostliness involved. But Mettaton did agree to that.
Because of her perceived achievement, (though her actual achievement was also pretty cool) Alphys was hired as the Royal Scientist for the Underground, and got to work with Asgore, the king of all monsters! She continued working with Mettaton, and Asgore asked her to try and find a way to break the barrier that was trapping them Underground without killing humans. Alphys found an interesting thing called Determination, or DT within humans using the SOULs of humans Asgore had killed and allowed her access to.
She tested it on some flowers in his garden to see what would happen, and nothing did. That she realized at the time, anyway. She had actually injected DT into a flower sprinkled with the remains of Asriel, the king’s dead son, and brought him back to life as a flower. Problem was, Asriel, or Flowey as he eventually called himself, didn’t have a SOUL anymore, since he was a flower. Thinking that nothing had happened, Alphys decided to try and see if it could really bring back monsters that had fallen down/were on the verge of death. She asked people for their family members that had fallen down. The monsters that had fallen down were basically dead, but the last of their magic hadn’t quite run out yet. However, their magic was being spent keeping their bodies from turning to dust, and they were unable to move, pretty much in a coma. So really, if it didn’t work, no harm done! Either it works and they live, it kills them, or it doesn’t do anything and they still die!
Alphys conducted her tests, and at first, it worked! All of the monsters were getting up and moving around! She contacted the families to send them back, but when she was about to, she discovered they had all started melting and had stuck together and merged into one being. She chickened out for fear of how the families would react, and proceeded to ignore a bunch of letters for quite a while. Eventually, she did own up to it, though she was immediately fired (by the EX-queen, not Asgore. Was that even legal?). The families were just happy to have their loved ones back, and while they were still somewhat upset, understandably so, they didn’t really blame her all too much.
ALSO!! She got a girlfriend!! She’s canonically expressed interest in Undyne, Captain of the Royal Guard and who would eventually be her girlfriend, Asgore, and the unknowable! She has made mistakes. Big ones. But honestly, I don’t blame her for the mistakes. The real problem was that she is incredibly anxious and let that get the better of her, leading to her not telling people important things that they deserved to know. She’s not the best at being honest."
Jade Harley:
"She's soo fun and silly and her symbol is literally an atom. she regularly irradiates steak to feed her weird dog"
"She and her nuclear powered dog creating a new universe. she's cool"
"Built a modded bass guitar that's only playable when she's in her robot form and has extra arms. Became a doggirl. She also plays the flute :)"
"i think you have enough ramblings about her already but i couldnt NOT submit her, she is so dear to me <3"
"bbg has THREE scientific specialties!! she genetically modifies plants and makes them grow beautifully high just because she can and loves science. in her alpha timeline she’s a tech mogul and creates technology that challenges the evil empress that brought earth to ruin. AND she’s a furry"
"Doggy"
"She plays a silly flute refrain. She's a furry. Literally, she's a doggirl. She's also a god and created the universe. JADE BEST GIRLIE!!!!"

HII!! I absolutely ADORE your writing!! Could you please write a jellyfish!reader x helluva boss (mainly Stolas, Blitzø, Ozzie and Fizzy but if you want to add more characters that’s fine!!)
like a reader who’s whole colour palette is blue, purple and pink which contracts the red, black and white vibe in hell and is UNDENIABLY beautiful. Like, reader is absolutely ethereal and has the jellyfish haircut!! The reader COULD rival an overlord (maybe a sin if they made deals with others!!) with their strength and the fact they could electrify, shock and sting others- the fact they’re so CALM yet so elegant is an understatement. They rarely get mad or upset and when they do, it’s so passive aggressive that its just the slight insults, leaving out the person or just harming them straight away. Btw reader would be able to glow in the dark, doesn’t have a brain but is EXTREMELY intelligent (could be immortal as some jellyfish are), doesn’t feel pain, no heart (bones or blood) and is just made of 95% water YET looks so human-like and beautiful (has the human body yet no organs etc. think of a mirage, an illusion. They are demon(human) like, they have a body but it’s completely water. Not that you could tell. Their skin is pale, almost white, they’re almost ghostly yet so beautifully created. I don’t think jellyfish can sleep either and I’d like to think that jellyfish!reader died in the water while observing jellyfish, they were so SO obsessed with jellyfish yet they died by one and I’d also like to think they would have some sort of power with water, due to the fact they’re mainly water (and electricity, poison).
How would they react to jellyfish!reader?
Don'tcha know? Jellyfish are brainless.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Stolas, Blitzø, Asmodeus, Fizzarolli x GN! Jellyfish! Reader
Warnings: None I think, mostly platonic!
Word count: 450

Stolas thinks you look extremely cool. Lets say he saw you on one of his outings. You immediately catch his eye because of your practically see-through body. He had never seen a Sinner look like you before. Of course he has a book about jellyfish in his collection though. So he already knows a lot about them. But he'll ask you a bunch of questions and write them in a little notebook. He finds it quite interesting that you don't have a brain, but are completely capable of functioning. Though, if he really thinks about it, if you did have a brain it would just be floating around. Which would probably be very strange.
Blitzø thinks you look badass. You were one of his clients when you met. He was enthralled by your jellyfish look and your need to take revenge on the living world. Lets just say, the two of you hit it off. He might even ask you to work for I.M.P as like his assistant or something. He'll ask you a ton of questions, most of them revolving around sex... He doesn't realize you don't sleep until you stayed in the office for a full 24 hours. He then felt stupid for not taking that into consideration. Basically, you make him feel stupid because you don't have a brain, but you're smarter than him.
Asmodeus thinks you look adorable. The first time you guys met, he assumed you were from the Envy ring and was just visiting the Pride ring like him. But he was wrong, very, very wrong. To find out you were a sinner was a shock to him. Like jaw on the floor type shocked. Will buy you jellyfish themed things when he finds out you love jellyfish. Maybe he'll even get you a pet jellyfish. His trips to the Pride ring become more frequent, just to see you. When you tell him you died looking at jellyfish, he's surprised once again. Considering they were your cause of death, your love for them didn't waver.
Fizzarolli thinks you look amazing in every way. You first met at one of his shows in the Pride ring. You caught his eye with your jelly-watery body. He probably points it out during the show, mentioning how cool you looked. You were a bit shy to be the center of attention, but you still decided to come up with him after the show. You two make jokes and laugh until someone else comes up for an autograph. Years later, you meet again. And he's just as mesmerized as the day you met. He wants to know everything about you. So expect a ton of questions heading your way.

I’ve been kinda thinking this for a while because I know the dpxdc fandom likes thin as a bean and shouldn’t be capable of lifting Superman so easily, buff as a Viking, and as small but so much curves like his mom, Danny Fenton/Phantom.
And I love them all. For various reasons.
But I just thought about something really hard for a second.
Danny died at 14.
He died being small, and young. He became ecto-contaminated in a way so much more different from Vlad who had been blasted in the face by the smallest portion of ecto-portal that infected and corrupted into his skin.
This is in comparison to Danny who literally had a dimension rip open on top and inside of him.
To me, Vlad basically got the equivalent of a mini bomb exploding in his face and came out of it with severe third degree burns that translated into Ghost Acne.
And then we look at it again from their Ghost’s.
Danny’s ghost is that of a 14 year old boy who died in a cold portal in his parents basement.
Vlad who got blasted in college, was a twig and yet his ghost form is buff and aged just like his aged human body.
If he ‘died’ when he got hit by the mini-portal than his ghost would mimic the form he died in.
But he isn’t.
Instead we get Two different spectrums of a ghostly appearance for two halfa’s.
Ghosts who are meant to form as how they had been during the time of their death. Ghosts who will always be at their core the person they died as, the identity of those last seconds before death took them.
That’s the point of ghosts.
The only time it changes is if there are external third factors.
Such as Aragon’s Necklace. Or being able to use something of the living to ‘change shape’ as the Lunch Lady, or stretch yourself into a giant like Walker, and the greatest exception being Amorpho who HAS no identity to begin with. More than likely a thought that was made but never given anything further, and thus his jealousy with identity. Either that or he died never making a solid identity that could carry on into death, thus making him faceless because he didn’t even know who he truly was at that time of death.
Even Spectra is different! She’s more of a poltergeist-demon than an actual Ghost from the way she does things and even from how she looks in ghost form.
So with that, who is actually Human-Ghost and who just happens to be Ghost adjacent enough to get powers?
Danny is a real Halfa and Vlad is just mimicking one.
Now for the Dan, evil-phantom, of the fandom.
Dan is just BUFF.
He’s an adult. He GREW.
But it wasn’t due to Danny.
It was due to whatever he took from Vlad/Plasmius.
To me, Plasmius was just the ecto that resided in Vlad. All that anger and resentment that gave birth to itself from Vlad’s own anger at what he went through with the mini-portal. It was ecto that was residing in him, ecto from the Infinite Realms itself that was made INTO an idea and then given form.
Ecto that lived, Venom-style, in Vlad.
An idea that grew up with Vlad BECAUSE Vlad was growing up himself. He wasn’t thinking of himself as that scrawny college student anymore. He was becoming an adult so of course the ecto would mimic that idea of Vlad and make Plasmius older too.
Plasmius was a fairy tale that Vlad made up, and that’s why Dan was able to rip that part out of Vlad like it was it’s own true ghost. But it wasn’t, and so it collapsed without its person to control it. At least until Dan dove into the ecto and took the ideas that were there and intertwined himself with it.
Those YEARS of ideas isn’t so easily brushed away either, and even less so when Danny and Vlad had believed that Plasmius was Vlad’s ghost, a halfa just like Danny. So of course Dan would believe in the idea that he took/ate Vlad’s ghost. And that idea would spread because ecto is just another form of power and vitality. So of course that ecto should change Dan.
And then it did.
It changed his colors first and then eventually his physical form.
Thus we have Buff older Dan.
Now back to Danny.
With all that, this means that Phantom is never going to age.
Because Danny did die that day. He died, and only came back because the dimensional rip of ecto from the Infinite Realms tied his ghost neatly into his human body. The human body that just died.
He isn’t alive, his ghost that is tied to the body is simply puppeteering it. And as the Infinite Realms is literally all of time and space throughout every single multiverse in existence, it’s not too far of a shot to say that it could snatch that very moment, that heartbeat Danny craves restlessly, the heartbeat just before he truly died entirely.
Danny is a moment in time.
So his ghost will never age. And neither will his body.
Basically, Danny is forever an eternal 14 year old twig and he will be so very mad about it.

Description of someone hanging themselves by suicide this chapter. This is in detail so do not read if this triggers you.
Has anyone ever had that moment where your heart just stops? Everything around you is just white noise and all that exists is that horrifying spectacle? Clarissa hung there, swaying a little. Damp blonde hair hung like a curtain obscuring her face. One would have though Clarissa was floating if not for that rope. Strangling her neck was a rope, fastened to the window above. "She...she must have jumped some time in the night." Lady Dara doubled over and bile splattered onto the floor. Lady Mari collapsed to the ground with a sob. You on the other hand remained rooted to the spot. Greif had put you beyond such action. "I was with her last night." Your words seemed a long way off. Last night she had been alive. And you had just left her in that room, alone. Walking to the window you reached out. Gently brushing blonde hair back you looked at Clarissa's ghostly white face.
They said when one died they looked to be sleeping. That may be true in some cases, but in Clarissa's this figure did not look like her. Yes, you knew it was her. But devoid of all her life and energy this was a mere shadow. You remembered the young girl at Casterly Rock. You remembered Alana and her terrified face, neck left wide open. Now Clarissa had gone to join her.
You watched as they cut her down and hauled her body inside. There were no Silent Sisters here so it was solely left to Maester Whells to do the rights. Glowering at the man, you remembered how unkind he had been to her. "I hope the guilt eats you alive, bastard." You thought. The funeral had to be quick, too quick in your opinion. If things had been different Clarissa would have been dressed in her best and laid to rest in her family tomb. Now all she got was a poor hole in the ground. They left a stone there with her name crudely carved. A poor resting place for such a girl.
After the funeral Jaecerion had come up to you. He took your hand and placed a gentle kiss to it. The previous night butterflies may have erupted in your belly but not now. The horror was too fresh for anything but sadness. You penned a letter to Clarissa's mother. From one mother to another you hoped the letter would bring some comfort. But you knew, in her place, it would bring none. "We must go." He told you. Yes, it was time to go and leave Clarissa behind when she should have come. Looking to all the women who had gossiped about Clarissa, a hatred strong a dragon fire curled in your gut. If you ever had the power to bring them harm, you would. Even as Lady of Casterly Rock you were inept to protect anyone. And these women would more on with their lives, uncaring of what they had done.
Tumblr media
One last prayer to the gods and it was time to go. Jaecerion had not brought his dragon since this mission was to be done in secret. Daemon Targaryen and a girl by the name of Nettles were circling the sky, waiting. Though they were focused on Prince Aemond that did not mean Jaecerion was safe. You were bundled into a cart with your remaining ladies. As they hauled the luggage into another cart you looked up at the window to see Prince Aemond peering down at you. There was still so much left unsaid. You were tempted to get up and go to him. That was when you saw something. A woman with black hair beside him. You could not see the colour of eyes eyes but...no...it could not be?! The carriage gave a lurch and you were off, eyes on the window where the Prince and lady had been.
The road was bumpy and you were afraid it would disturb Owen. But he slept soundly for the most part. The journey was a quiet one. All anyone could think about was that Clarissa should have been there. Her absence screamed at everyone. You traveled, not by one of the main roads, but an obscure path. Jaecerion constantly cantered ahead to check for bandits or something worse. Every move above sent a shiver of panic through the group. Any rustle was taken for dragon wings and your neck ached from its constancy.
It was not just the rustling of innocent squirrels you could hear. Voices you knew no one else could carried themselves on the wind. You clutched an image of the Seven Star to your chest. They whispered things to you, hissing invisibly.
"Dragon." Someone hissed. Everyone froze, and that was when you heard it. The unmistakable sound of wings flapping in the sky. A low moan told you it was Caraxes. You were obscured by trees, but would that be enough? The knight hurriedly pulled a large blanket the colour of mud over the carriages. You would still see outside though the thin fibers. Clutching Owen, you could barely breath. Caraxes's wings were defining to you. Then you though you heard a second dragon, Sheep Stealer. Could they smell you? For what seemed like a lifetime no one cared more. Even after the flapping abated everyone lay there. Only after several hours did the group continue, ears open for the sound of wings returning.
Tumblr media
You had probably traveled this road on the way to Kings Landing all those years ago. Not that you remembered any of it. At five you could not recall the sprawling hills or fields of wheat. Not that there was very much wheat anymore, much of it was been set alight. What would that mean when winter came? You and Owen may fair better, but the common folk would be less lucky. They said in the north old men went out to die so that the younger population could live. And Kings Landing would likely riot. The end of this war would not bring happiness or peace.
"We will stop at The Lord's Tavern tonight. Y/n you stopped here on the way to Kings Landing. Do you remember it?" You shook your head. It was dark by the time you arrived. Rolling over the bumpy hill everyone could see lights flickering. You could hear laughter and singing inside, the smell of mead strong. "Finally, an actual bed." Lady Dara sighed. Someone stopped Jaecerion as the group pulled to a halt. Jaecerion, who's face was covered, bent down and whispered something which sent the man scurrying inside. He then walked towards the group. "Ladies, head in. Ser Herald, Ser Jerrard, follow the ladies in. The rest of us will deal with the horses.
The moment foot was set in a blast of sound greeted you. The night had just begun and so had its revelries. In a way it remined you of Kings Landing. Securing Owen in your arms, a tavern keeper came up. "My Ladies, Sers, this way." Thankfully a private room had been provided. Food had been hurriedly laid out, my to everyone's relief. There had been hardly any time to eat on the road. In no time everyone sat down and ate in silence. Soon Jaecerion and the rest joined, eager as well. After the food had been settled there was talk. Lady Dara was in discussion with a knight and Lady Mari, while not talking, looked relaxed. A round of ale was passed and soon you felt very sleepy. "Jaecerion, where is my room?" Jaecerion set down his tankard. "You wish to sleep now?" "Yes, pardon me. The past few days have been taxing." Understanding, Jaecerion called for two guards and your ladies. Lady Dara seemed less willing, enjoying her conversation with a knight. But follow you she did. Thankfully the bed was comfortable. Lady Mari shared the bed while Lady Dara took a smaller, though no less comfortable bed. Nights were posted outside the room. A crib had been offered for Owen but you rejected it. He would stay in your arms until Highgarden.
Tumblr media
No dreams. The sleeping world had fallen silent and unease coursed through you. While the banishing of these dreams should cause you relief they did not. Instead of setting you at ease it brought anxiety. Why after so long had they fallen silent? You wished there was someone to talk to about this. Maybe if Alys were here she could help. You wondered where she was right now. Was she even still alive? You felt horribly guilty. As much as you told yourself she was a witch you had the feeling you had done something horridly wrong. Perhaps she had only tried to help you and in return received deception. Try as you may to ignore it, shame and guilt stirred within.
The next morning everyone woke bright and early. One more day before arriving in Highgarden. Excitement started to fill you. It had been so long. How much had changed? How much remained the same? Of course you would have to meet Lady Jenna. Despite her influence in your life the memory of Lady Jenna was blurred. She possessed brown hair and pale skin. That last time she wore an emerald green dress with draping sleeves. She was a strict woman, but you could not say you knew her very well. She ruled at the head of House Tyrell, as Lady Jenna was mother to its lord. Ever since you were a child she would send letters. Whether it be advice or orders. And in the time of her reign House Tyrell had grown strong.
The next night, your last night on the road, everyone stopped at Orwell's Keep. Orwell's Keep was an austere looking castle, like a mini Harrenhal. The gates were of hard iron and groaned when moved. There were no windows, only slits for arrows. The owner of this keep was a withered old man, being distant relation to House Tyrell. You were set up in the best guest room. Despite the dreariness did not translate to the inside. You had to give this castle credit, the inside was quite nice. Golden tapestries hung from walls. The carpets were made of soft fur, courtesy of House Stark. A fire roared in the fireplace.
You allowed your ladies the freedom to do as they liked. Lady Mari, exhausted, immediately fell asleep in the plush bed. Lady Mari went downstairs to make merry with the castles inhabitants. You on the other hand sat by the fire. Owen lay curled up on your warm lap, sleeping. This was the most comfortable you had been in ages. Although anxiety still remained you were able to focus on happier things. In Highgarden you would be safe and far away from Harrenhal. Maybe in time Harrenhal, Casterly Rock and Ellyn would seem as bad memories. If you married Jaecerion and allowed yourself to love him as a wife should, maybe life would be good. You would miss your old life, but gain much as well. Still, something lingered in the back of your mind when it came to Jaecerion.
Tumblr media
Early morning and everyone was off again. Tonight you would be at Highgarden. The horses sped up, everyone was impatient. Time seemed to drag on. Impatiently you had a key eye out for the castle. Your memory failed you when it came to actually remembering the layout. But you had seen paintings since then. Made of white stone, Highgarden was a large castle surrounded by three tall walls. Mazes lined the first interior, smaller buildings in the second and lastly in the center, a castle. They said it was enormous, larger, some said, than the Red Keep. They spoke of the fabulous feasts and food carved Whereas Casterly Rock had its gold, Highgarden was bountiful in harvest.
The sun started to set and anxiety set in. No one wanted to be out too late especially not in these bloody times. The jerking of the cart was deeply felt. Starting to feel irritated you just wanted to get out of this damned cart. Everything was aching, your legs and back felt like little knifes were wedging themselves inside. Yours arms were cramping from carrying Owen. "Shall I carry him for a while?" You knew Lady Mari was reliable, but your anxiety had kicked in. The idea of handing Owen off to anyone was enough to make you feel ill. "No thank you." On and one the ride went seemingly never ending. Your head started to droop, nodding off. The weather chilled, trees rustled in the wind. The distant sound of a river racing down its path splashed out of sight. The rustling of wheat. Peddles being kicked into the air.
The whispering of voices in the wind.
"Highgarden!" Jerking to full consciousness you looked up. Just over the horizon were torchlights. Hundreds of them lined atop the walls. You smelt ripe fruit wafting from a garden, the scent almost overpowering. Getting closer you saw the castle up close and by gods was it enormous. Its three walls could have each held a city quite comfortably. You stood up despite the cart still moving. A wave of nostalgia for a place you barely remembered overcame you. It brought back a feeling long forgotten, buried by time. Clutching your son closer you looked upon the place that was once home.
Tumblr media
The carriage trundled under Highgarden's high gate. The road suddenly smoothed out and you entered the first ring. Your hood was drawn over, hiding the fact that Y/n Lannister was in Highgarden. The first layer consisted on fields and small houses. Since it was dark most had headed inside after a long day of work. However a few who were out looked at the newcomers. You could smell manure and wheat, it was nearly overwhelming. Coming up to another gate you entered the second layer. Gone were the fields and silence. Markets covered the sidewalks and people walked to-and-fro. It reminded you of Kings Landing during celebrations, except less smelly. The road took some time to travel through. Most of it was blocked by people and carts. Not that you were bored, performers attracted attention through acrobatic, trips and elaborate costumes. When a man in green makeup and feathers jumped out Lady Mari nearly jumped out of her seat.
Memorized, you took in the scene. After nearly two years of war you had forgotten what celebration felt like. There was unadulterated joy on the faces of every man, woman and child. This was a place mostly untouched by war, the sound of laughter instead of cries. Once more your happiness was dampened when you thought of how Clarissa and Alana would have loved this.
When you finally reached the gate a sense of foreboding settled in the pit of your stomach. On last time you looked back at the market and its revelry. Looking ahead you saw darkness, a long tunnel shrouded in darkness. When the iron gate closed behind the music died. Now all you could hear was the rattling of wheels and heavy breathing. Owen let out a small sound of discontent and you hid him under your cloak, as if someone might snatch him.
A sudden bump jolt the cart. Your head jerked down and bounced up. Pain shot up your neck and your eyes closed. Opening them, there was no longer just darkness. Sitting right across from your was a hooded figure. Its head rose and you met its skeletal, hollow eyes. A chill ran down your spine when its mouth (could you call it that) showed a row of sharp dagger like teeth. In your moment of fright you considered this the stranger appearing bearing tidings of death.
Another great jolt sent you into the light. The apparition (if that is what it was) was gone and in its place was an empty seat. "Are you ill?" Lady Mari had noticed the look on your face. You did not even bother to cover it up. Shaking, you remained silence. "It was dark, why in the Seven Hells were there no lanterns!?" Lady Mari gave you a strange look. "My Lady, there were lanterns." You looked back and saw the tunnel flooded with light, torches flickering gently.
Tumblr media
The formidable gates of Highgarden leered above you. Made during the supremacy of the Gardener Kings, this gate was old and very strong. Metal vines crawled up its surface, molding themselves into a face. Meant to be a depiction of the first Gardener Kings, you felt it processed a twisted unsettling quality. "Are you okay Y/n?" Jaecerion had pulled his horse up next to you. A gloved hand placed itself on your shoulder. Its weight did little to ease the nausea in your belly. Suddenly, now that you had arrived, there was suddenly fear. You could not explain where this abrupt anxiety came from. Foreboding loomed over you. With shaking legs you lied. "I am fine. Just very tired." Giving Jaecerion a worn smile you turned back to the gate. An order was called out and with a great moan the gate slowly creaked open.
Your memories of Highgarden were blurred. Now that you were here the past was put into sharper focus. When you left all those years ago they had placed you into a carriage. Looking back you had looked back at the shrinking castle. On that occasion knights had surrounded you bearing the Tyrell symbol. The carriage had jerked and you had nearly toppled over. Elinor had to steady you less an injury occur. Poor Elinor.
The cart stopped. Heart thumping in your chest, you carefully stood up tightly clutching Owen. Jaecerion descended from his horse and helped you down. He offered his arm but you refused, stating that Owen needed to be secure. Understanding, Jaecerion simply stood beside you, hand on your elbow. The stone steps looked steep, though that may be more down to your anxiety. "Are you cold? Y/n you're shaking!" Indeed you were. You protested, claiming top only be tired. Jaecerion did not look convinced.
The dark green doors of the castles entrance opened. A chill you had not felt in years racketed down your back. Dressed in venomous green robes, the woman who had dominated your life descended the stairs. Nervously you sunk into a curtsy. Her thin lip curled. "Welcome to Highgarden Lady Y/n." Jenna Tyrell's voice washed over you like a bucket of cold water.

Something that has been on my mind for a while but I haven’t seen get talked about at all:
In The Ultimate Enemy, I don’t think Vlad was a reliable narrator.
In the episode, Vlad explains that Danny was grief-stricken after the death of his family and friends, and he undergoes a procedure (performed by Vlad) to remove his emotions?? Vlad removes Danny's ghost half, which in turn uses the gauntlets to remove Vlad's ghost half, and Phantom fuses with Plasmius to create Dan/Dark Danny.
There are a few things I find interesting here.
Danny has been split before and found no issue.
During Identity Crisis, Danny's ghost and human forms get separated through the ghost catcher, resulting in Super Danny. Super Danny is a full-time superhero whose only purpose in life is to heroically save lives and protect the citizens of Amity Park.
Now compare this to the version of Phantom we're served during TUE. This version of Phantom seems so angry and vengeful, the antithesis of what we know Danny to be. Danny asked to have part of himself ripped out, and then lashed out when Vlad followed through.
I think Vlad exaggerated Danny's reaction here. Vlad is evil, and I believe he attributes this to his ghost self rather than accepting it as an inherent part of his person, so he assumes Danny is the same way. He doesn't realise that, like the Dairy King says, "not all ghosts are evil". Thus, he hyperbolizes the events that took place to make it seem as though it was Danny's inherently evil ghost half that ruined everything, not Vlad's own actions.
2. Danny wants his feelings to be ripped out.
Sure, Danny is a teen who just had his entire life pulled out from under him. Asking to have his human emotions removed might be something a 14 year old would ask for in the wake of the deaths of all the people he loves.
But to actually go through with it?
Ever since they met Danny has been wary of every action Vlad has taken. He knows exactly what Vlad's motives are, he knows the man is greedy and violent and relentless, he knows that Vlad is not someone that can be trusted. So why would he trust him with something like this?
This also leans into Phantom attacking him. If this part was true and Danny's ghost half did attack Vlad upon being separated, it stands to reason that maybe the procedure wasn't entirely consensual, and Phantom was acting out of self-preservation rather than just attacking because ghosts are evil.
3. Vlad is willing to rip Danny's feelings out.
Danny is grieving. I might understand him wanting this, but why did Vlad go through with it? The premise of the procedure is ridiculous at best, and I'm sure he knew how risky it was.
Instead of seeking help for this grieving and traumatised teenager, he used a strange invention to rip out Phantom, as if that would solve literally anything.
4. Phantom fuses with Plasmius.
Now, this is incredibly interesting, because they don't fuse by some weird coincidence or accident; Phantom separates Vlad from his ghost half, drops the gauntlets on the floor, turns intangible, and overshadows Plasmius while he's passed out on the ground.
What in the actual hell would the motivation be for this? I seriously cannot think of a single reason he would. Is it power? Phantom is plenty powerful on his own. Plasmius only really has the upper hand when it comes to duplicating himself, and even that is a skill Danny knows he can practice, so why do they fuse???
5. Phantom fuses with Plasmius 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Putting this separate from the other fusion part because I do what I want.
How does it work when a ghost fuses with another ghost? Phantom and Plasmius are never shown as having any sort of conflict, which is out of character considering their entire relationship is based in conflict. How do they suddenly get along when they share a single body?
Moreover, when they fuse, they take on a form that looks like Phantom, but with some of Plasmius's more ghostly features (forked tongue, green skin, etc.) even though it was Phantom taking over Plasmius's body. To me, it would make more sense, if these events were true, for the pair to look like Plasmius, but with a few Phantom-esque features.
That is, of course, unless that isn't what really happened...
6. Vlad cowers in fear during this.
As we've seen in the show, Vlad is not a cowardly man. He's cunning, and is willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He will never portray himself as weak unless he stands to gain from it.
So why do we get a clear shot of him absolutely terrified of the scene unfolding in front of him?
Perhaps it could be because he's suddenly powerless while in the presence of a powerful and malicious ghost. This explanation could make sense. Except then how did he survive? Especially given that...
7. Danny was killed by Dark Danny.
I don't know if that really does justice to what happened. Danny is seen cowering on the floor while the ghost stands over him menacingly. Vlad narrates that some things are better left unsaid, but the next thing we see is the mansion blowing up. Obviously, the implication here is that Danny was killed by the ghost, and then the whole place was destroyed.
Now, strangely enough, my first question is about how Danny was conscious during this ordeal. The whole series of events couldn't have taken more than a few minutes from start to finish, but even though we see Danny strapped down, gas pumping into his lungs to keep him unconscious for the procedure, he's suddenly awake, aware, and free from his restraints.
There is no way Danny would've been alert enough to act the way he did in the short clip that was shown.
8. The ghost let Vlad live.
This makes no sense to me either. The Phantom/Plasmius fusion killed Danny, but allowed Vlad to live, even though both were in the lab.
Okay, maybe Vlad's ghost half wasn't willing to kill his human half out of some leftover sense of self-preservation.
But wouldn't Danny's ghost half have the same instinct? Doubly so since he's so hellbent on protecting humans?
And not only did he not kill Vlad outright, but Vlad was also not killed during the explosion, which implies he got out beforehand. This could have only happened if the ghost allowed him to escape, since I have no doubt it would have noticed if Vlad tried to make a quick getaway while it was distracted.
Why would the ghost kill Danny with no remorse, but not ensure Vlad also perished?
So, what really happened?
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. The true events could be any number of things. Maybe Vlad did the procedure for his own gain rather than to help rid Danny of his emotions. It could be to try and mold him into the perfect son while he's grieving and easy to manipulate. It could be that he was trying to separate Phantom to implant into a half-baked clone. I'm not entirely sure.
But what I do know is that what we're shown in The Ultimate Enemy is definitely not what really happened, and Vlad, for one reason or another, is manipulating the narrative to make himself look like a good person and a victim, all while painting Danny to be the reason the world is under attack.

About Seelies, their Palaces in the Dark Sea & how they're Probably Related to Andrius (TL;DR)
Their palaces are in the Dark Sea, where The Seven have no jurisdiction. They brought wisdom to mankind, & probably so to other entities like the Andrius, "the Wolf the North".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their palaces are in the Dark Sea, & Enkanomiya is also exactly there, but there was no Seelie civilization there; there were just humans from the Unified Civilization as far as we know. It's quite interesting that the Seelie courts are eroded by the time all around Teyvat, but in Enkanomiya they aren't.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For a while, I used to think that the ruins that are around all Teyvat's surface, were the architecture of the Seelies, but this isn't the case at all bc according to the book "A Drunkard's Tale" the Seelie palaces are in the Dark Sea.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now that we're talking about the Dark Sea and the "A Drunkard's Tale", there's smth pretty interesting I'd like to mention about...Columbina.
Tumblr media
In "A Drunkard's Tale" Vol. 3 we learn the tale about a lone wolf, that once wandered in the a "cruel" wasteland; a place that seems to be far beyond the dominion of Celestia, with the remains of fallen gods and others that escaped there after the archon war, (ex. Orobashi).
Tumblr media
According to the tale, once the lone wolf passed by a palace where he heard music. Within there, he found a "fair maiden" using an instrument, with a skin "ashen white" & playing a "long-forgotten and mournful melody".
"The chirping of insects on a long-gone autumn night is the chorus of exiles, singing mankind's most ancient song as they live out their plight..." she sang.
"Stripped of all that the body once held close and the soul once held dear, song and memories are all that now remain of yesteryear."
"The last singers, the first Seelie, they played their final tune in the halls of angels."
The Seelies in the area approached the pale white maiden to listen to her music. The wolf asked about the song to the maiden, and the maiden replied "A song of the Seelie".
"Long, long ago, we wrote this song for the human savages. Yet now, we sing it to mourn our own fate."
This maiden was clearly a Seelie who seems to still maintain her human form, & we're told that Andrius received his powers from an ancient god...could this god be the Seelie from the tale? he has a very icy windy ghostly anemo form, just like Seelies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The twitter user named @nanbeidou7 also talked about this before me.
Here's a link to a thread she did about the topic.
Link:
Tumblr media
I'd like to also talk about a possible mention of a Seelie (maybe even Columbina, asuming that she's a Seelie), in the artifact set "Adventurer" in the "Plume of Death", there's a mention of an adventurer meeting a "girl so beautiful" that even her appearance felt surreal.
Tumblr media
And do you all know what else did the girl had? that's right! a cluster of feathers!! the similarities are too coincidental tbh...but who knows! anyone in Teyvat could be incredibly beautiful girl with a cluster of feathers, right?... right??

So I've had this AU for TTL floating around in my head since pretty much the beginning that's basically a "what would happen if Janus was just a little too slow in escaping and was grabbed by the Prince Pride of the Unseelie". It's a total shit show and it's on my mind so I want to talk about it.
Basically, Janus manages to get Virgil out safely but can't save himself. He gets horrifically tortured by the somewhat rogue unseelie princes. Virgil can't save Janus but he somehow uses the claim and idk some other magic (the spirit species might be involved) to project a sort of ghostly version of himself to keep Janus company through it all so that he's not alone. Janus is, eventually, killed.
The unseelie deliver his mutilated body to his family. They don't take it well. King Thomas doesn't start a war over it for the sake of his people but naturally, nothing will ever be the same. What Thomas does do is gift more magic to each of his remaining sons and Remy so that they're more powerful and it's less likely for history to repeat itself.
Here's the twist: What if Janus is resurrected centuries later? He'd come back to find:
All of his siblings drastically changed because of his death
Thomas is dead
Roman is king
Roman started a war against humans to avenge Janus (but not the unseelie because he knows he won't win that war which is bullshit)
Roman got married only for his husband and Remy to team up and run away because the new Roman became abusive and a cheater
Remus has become ostracized from the rest of the family
Without Janus there to help him and without the rest of the family supporting him Remus lost his mind and became hellbent on killing as many humans as he could because it's the only vengeance he can get
The seelie are hunting Virgil because he was last seen with Janus and they wildly misunderstood the situation
Virgil has been hiding out in an uninhabited section of the fae realm and has been taking good care of himself because Janus believed he was worth saving
Remy and Virgil know each other and have bonded over their love for Janus and them both being part drider
Remy has been disguising himself as human and is hiding on Earth working in a rehabilitation center for victims of fae particularly humans who were unwillingly claimed and then freed
Remy and Remus teamed up to manipulate the humans into helping them resurrect Janus because they miss him but also because they know he's the only one who has a chance of actually fixing everything
Is anyone interested in this? Does anyone want to ask questions or give me a reason to ramble because this AU lives in my head rent free and it's on my mind right now. I've been listening to my playlist for it.

⌜Tactus Mortis | Chapter 14 Chapter 14 | contigo⌟
╰ ⌞🇨‌🇭‌🇦‌🇵‌🇹‌🇪‌🇷‌ 🇮‌🇳‌🇩‌🇪‌🇽‌⌝
Tumblr media
❘ prev. chapter ❘༻✦༺❘ next chapter ❘
Tumblr media
As you find yourself at the heart of the ceremony, a sudden, inexplicable force bursts forth from within you, casting Camilo, your father, and the onlooking Madrigals away as if they were mere leaves caught in a fierce wind. Their bodies are flung backward, expressions etched with a mix of utter shock and deep fear, as they struggle to comprehend the unseen power that has just torn through the fabric of reality.
In the midst of this chaos, your form begins a slow, eerily graceful ascent, rising above the cobblestones of the town square. Arms extend outward, your posture mirroring a figure of crucifixion, head lolling backward in a silent plea to the heavens. Your eyes, now glowing a deep, menacing red, fixate on the darkened sky above, a silent witness to the storm that rages not just outside, but within.
Around you, the rain intensifies, each drop a torrential downpour that seeks to drown the world in its sorrow. Yet, remarkably, not a single droplet touches you; they veer away at the last moment, repelled by an unseen shield that encircles your levitating form. This bubble of dryness amidst the deluge becomes a symbol of your isolation, the physical manifestation of the barrier that now separates you from everything you hold dear.
From below, your father's voice cuts through the storm's cacophony, desperate and laden with an agony that mirrors the tumult in your own soul. "Muñequita, please!" he cries, his plea a beacon of love in the overwhelming darkness. But it's as if you're in another world entirely, his words unable to bridge the distance that this unseen force has created.
Inside, trapped within the confines of your own mind, you're a spectator to your own body's betrayal, screaming for release, for any semblance of control. Yet, your cries echo back, unanswered, in this prison of darkness until a chillingly familiar voice whispers, offering no comfort, only resignation. "There's no use. You might as well give up."
Turning, you're met with Sidero's visage, a ghostly figure who had once been a source of comfort, now the architect of your despair. Relief at the sight of him quickly morphs into confusion and then horror as you realize what he meant.
"Sidero," you start, voice trembling with a mix of betrayal and disbelief, "why?"
He looks at you, his expression a complex tapestry of sorrow and resolve. "I suppose it's time you knew the truth," he begins, his voice echoing strangely in the confines of your internal prison.
The space around you shifts, colors and shapes melding into scenes from a past not your own. You watch, helpless, as Sidero narrates the tale of his life—and his death. "I was just a boy, no older than you are now," he says, the scenery changing to show a vibrant town, its life snuffed out by disease. "My family, my friends... I watched them fall, one by one, to an illness we had no means to fight."
You see him there, a young boy with eyes too old for his face, the specter of death looming over his town. "Encanto was a mere legend to us, a whispered fairy tale of magic and miracles. But when I passed, and I saw it... saw them," he continues, the vision morphing to show the Madrigals in all their vibrant glory, "I realized the truth."
The bitterness in his voice is palpable as he recounts how he latched onto you, a lifeline to the physical world, during a moment of your own vulnerability. "You were so close to death, so close to joining me in the void. But you lived. And through you, I saw my chance for... justice."
The word hangs heavy between you, a condemnation of the Madrigals' perceived selfishness. "They had the power to heal, to save, but they chose to hide away. My family, my town, we could have been saved. But we were left to suffer, to die, because they wouldn't leave their precious Encanto."
The visions Sidero conjures are vivid, heart-wrenching—images of suffering and despair outside the magical borders of Encanto, a stark contrast to the peace and prosperity within. "And so, I made you my vessel, a bridge between the living and the dead. Through you, I'd bring them to their knees, make them see the cost of their isolation."
As the last of his words fade, the visions dissolve, leaving you back in the dark recesses of your own mind, facing the ghost who had been your friend, your confidant. Now, he stands revealed as the architect of your torment, a spirit consumed by vengeance and a twisted sense of justice.
"Sidero, how could you?" The question is a whisper, a reflection of the hurt and betrayal that courses through you. His plan, his hatred for the Madrigals, has turned your gift into a curse, made you the unwitting perpetrator of his revenge.
As Siderio's scowl fades, replaced by a look of what might be construed as regret, he steps closer, his movements slow, almost hesitant. "If there was another way, I'd do it," he murmurs, his voice a stark contrast to the cold anger that had filled the space between you moments before. He reaches out, his hand coming to rest gently against your cheek, a gesture that once would have offered solace now only serves to heighten the sense of betrayal coiling within you.
You instinctively turn away, repelled by the touch that now feels like a violation. His hand falls away, and a huff of frustration escapes him. "You'll understand sooner or later," he insists, the softness giving way once more to bitterness. "Those Madrigals are selfish, caring for nothing but themselves." His frown deepens, the scowl returning as his eyes begin to glow an ominous red, mirroring the storm of emotions raging within him.
His rant escalates, anger and resentment fueling his words until they are a venomous tirade against the Madrigals. "They deserve to pay for their crimes," he declares, the intensity of his fury sealing you away, leaving you a silent witness to his full possession of your body.
In the heart of Encanto's town square, with the Madrigals and townsfolk gathered in a tense circle, the atmosphere thickens with anticipation. Your body becomes a conduit for Siderio's fury; his voice, emanating from you, is laced with venom, each word a dagger aimed at the heart of the Madrigal family.
"People of Encanto," Siderio begins, his tone dripping with disdain, "you stand here, blind to the selfishness that festers within the walls of that magical house." The crowd shifts uneasily, the air charged with a growing sense of unease.
"For years," he continues, "the Madrigals have hoarded their gifts, basking in your adoration while just beyond these walls, people suffer, people die—abandoned and forgotten." Murmurs ripple through the assembly, faces turning towards the Madrigals, seeking denial, seeking reassurance.
"Alma Madrigal," Siderio's voice booms, "patriarch of this so-called blessed family. Tell them, tell them about the families that could have been saved, the lives that could have been spared if only you had stepped beyond your precious boundaries."
The accusation hits like a physical blow, and Alma stands, her posture that of a leader, yet the sorrow in her eyes speaks volumes. "We did what we thought was best to protect our own," she starts, her voice barely above a whisper as she attempts to explain, to justify. "The world beyond our home is fraught with danger. We couldn't risk exposing our family, our children, to that—"
"Protect your own? Excuses!" he scoffs, his voice growing bitter, as he recounts the loss of his own family, the helplessness and despair that marked his final moments. "My family... we could have been saved. But you chose to keep your gifts to yourselves, hoarding your miracles while the rest of us perished. What of the children who starved, while your tables overflowed with food? Your gifts, a beacon of hope you chose to extinguish for those not fortunate enough to be born within your enchanted borders."
Gasps and murmurs swell in the crowd, the image of the Madrigals as protectors and heroes cracking under the weight of Siderio's words. Children cling to their parents, their eyes wide with fear and confusion, while the younger Madrigals, those who had grown under the shelter of innocence and pride, look to Alma, their foundation, now questioned.
"You speak of danger beyond the walls, but the true danger lies in your greed, in your refusal to share your miracles," Siderio rages on, his anger palpable. "While you chose to watch from your walls, people died. Families were torn apart. And for that, you shall all pay."
The declaration, a curse spoken through tears and centuries of pent-up bitterness, leaves the square in stunned silence. Alma, the matriarch, the symbol of the Madrigal legacy, stands diminished, her struggle to defend her family's choices laid bare before those she sought to protect and those she inadvertently harmed.

a post about my bbc ghosts oc because @natequarter made a post that reminded me of him!
TW for mentions of alcohol, vomit and some violence
His name is Axel "Ace" Spades (he/him). Ace is basically an oc insert because I thought it'd be fun (sorry for being cringe </3 /hj). He's a 26 year old indie (wanna-be) filmmaker who died around the late-2010s (i'm thinking like March 2017?). Ace has a pretty long mullet (think like bon jovi) and it's dyed bright pink. He usually wears the same pair of crust pants that are layered with a bunch of home-made patches. Aside from that he'll wear the first thing he can find in his closet, so his shirt is always clashing badly with his pants. He's not very tall, about 158cm, and he makes no effort to look taller either. Ace died wearing a shirt that says "heavy metal" in a bubbly font that he cut the sleeves off of, his crust pants, kirby-themed socks and a pair of vans that are caked with dirt.
Most people know him as Ace because he thought it'd be cool to go by that on top of his chosen name "Axel", so there's no real cool story behind it. Spades isn't his real last name either, he just thought it'd be even cooler to be known as "Ace Spades", and he didn't want to keep using his father's name. Basically his whole deal is that he grew up in a very protected and controlling family, so he took uni as an excuse to get out of his parents' house and get as distant from them as possible. His upbringing also caused him to be a really big adrenaline junkie, since his big belief is to take whatever chance, pick whatever fight and do whatever pops into his mind "to make up for lost time". His impulses has gotten him into a lot of trouble physically and mentally, and so has actually had quite a few instances where he died for a moment and was resuscitated or just got waay too close to death, which brings me to his death and his ghostly powers.
The idea at the moment is that he died on St Paddy's Day, after a long night of bar hopping and heavy drinking. He built up the bad habit of being a pretty heavy drinker and a chain smoker. Anyway, at one specific bar, Ace almost started a stupid bar fight and got kicked out. In anger, he hopped on his motorcycle and drove up to the more secluded side of the village he happened to be in. His motorcycle broke down suddenly as he was riding, and it happened to break down right in front of the Button House borders (territory?? i'm not sure of the right english word, i apologise). He tried to walk up to the house to ask for help, but keep in mind it's about 2am at this point and Alison and Mike (and most of the ghosts) are asleep. Ace passes out on the driveway before he can even make it up to the front porch. Robin is the one to find his body really early in the morning while he's on a walk. In his excitement, he runs into the house screaming and wakes everyone up, including Ace himself, who gets up off the floor to look down and find his own body lying face down with a small pool of vomit near him. Long story short, he died in Button House territory, became a ghost, Alison and Mike have to deal with the shit he left behind, and he becomes a menace to them just like all the other ghosts <3 Now for his ghostly powers!! Basically, because of the amount of near-death experiences that Ace went through while he was alive, Ace also had Alison's power of seeing ghosts. He was just convinced that he was crazy, though. However, Alison only had one near-death experiences. Ace has had so many, he was able to wave away the ghosts he saw as "a result of some kind of brain damage". So on top of being able to see ghosts, he could also touch them if he tried hard enough. So because of his condition and the stuff he did while living, his "spirit" in a sense is confused about its state and as a result, Ace can interact with the human world normally if he focuses hard enough (e.g. he can move and touch things, he can be heard by the living) BUT he can't touch humans normally most times since it takes so much effort to do it and it generally is just uncomfortable (because y'know he's still a ghost at the end of the day). He also unfortunately can't touch or interact with his ghost friends, and sometimes he can't even speak or hear them, unless he puts in the same amount of focus and effort he needs to interact with the living. He can always see the ghosts, though, so they all found a way to mime what they want when his ghost powers go funky. Sometimes, his spirit is just too confused that he can't control what it does, so there are moments where he tries to walk through a wall but face-plants right into it, or he tries to speak to Mike/Alison and they don't hear anything. Same for when he tries to speak or hear the ghosts. TL;DR, i have a silly bbc ghosts oc insert that i went a bit too creative and silly with when i was thinking of his ghost powers and now his ghost powers (which would sometimes seem like a blessing to the other ghosts) also is a curse.

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 1 MASHUP 13
Alphys (Undertale) vs Maru (Stardew Valley)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alphys is a Roboticist, Biologist and Souls/Determination Researcher!
Maru is a Roboticist, Medic (Nurse), Biologist and has an interest in Astronomy!
Maru:
"She is interested in robotics and even builds a giant robot in one of her special events if the player is close enough friends with her. Her father was the one who introduced her to STEM in general, as he is researching the environment in game and I believe it's stated or implied that she often helps him with his research (I'm pretty sure, at least, but it has been a while since I've played and this event is at the very beginning of the game)"
"She's this teenager who is just brilliant despite, you know, living god knows where in a tiny town. She built an actual robot and then it immediately gained sentience so she just set it free. So she's like a scientist with morals!!! Also she can be a love interest in the game. So you can romance this scientist girl, and some of her fav gifts are battery packs and gold bars which she uses for building robots <3"
"She lives with her mom and dad and loves science, she made an entire robot to help her parents because she was worried about them not having help when she's not around. She let the robot go because the robot didn't want to to serve it's "purpose." She loves cheesy cauliflower, literally the perfect woman"
"You can have a lesbian wedding with her! UwU"
"She’s interested in lots of general sciences, but she does plant biology with her father, nursing as a job (so medical sciences), and for fun she likes astronomy and robotics! Her whole personality is literally built around being an STEM girlboss! Her father is a scientist and her mother is a carpenter and and her brother is a programmer…. Autistic nerd family frfr"
"She literally builds a sentient robot who comes to life and leaves to explore the stars. Very skilled in her chosen field!!! AND she acts as a nurse TOO? Very busy, very smart. If you marry her, she suggests you automate your farm. It's always funny because I already have."
"She helps her dad with his biological research into the valley's native flora and fauna. When she's not doing that, she loves inventing things and tinkering around. Her favored gifts are almost all things that can be used in her inventions. At the end of her route she builds A SENTIENT ROBOT. She also works as a nurse part-time."
""Maru acquired a passion for creating gadgets at a young age. When she isn’t in her room, fiddling with tools and machinery, she sometimes does odd jobs at the local clinic." super cool and very pretty"
"Robotics, but she also works in healthcare and dabbles in astronomy :) Literally built an AI beneath her childhood bedroom. I married her one playthrough but tbh she belongs w Penny."
"she is a nurse and the biracial queen we love to see. i married her in all my stardew valley worlds"

phantom express fans dinner's ready eat up
after I read all of the yokais that the phantom express is based off of, I got a pretty good grasp on what the backstories for them all could be
(REMINDER THAT SPECTER IS CANONICALLY NON-BINARY‼️‼️)
blind specter is based off of a tenome, which is an old man with no eyes on his face but rather on each of his hands respectively. the yokai is created from the spirits of blind men who were robbed and murdered by thugs. in folk tale, a man is attacked by a monster with no eyes on their face but rather their hands. he fled to a nearby inn and told the innkeeper abt what happened, to which the innkeeper told him that he had seen a blind man robbed and killed in the same field. as the man was dying, he cried out;
"If only I could have had once glace at their faces! If I only had eyes that worked — even if only on the palms of my hands…!"
and his resentment upon his death caused him to be reborn as a yokai with the eyes on his hands just like he had asked for; the tenome.
as for the conductor, he's based off of the gashadokuro. the gashadokuro is a giant skeleton created by black magic out of souls of those who died and didn't receive a funeral (soldiers who died on battlefields and/or those who starved to death). they die angered and pained, and the more their bodies rot/the longer it's been since they died, the more they hate the living and turn into a supernatural force. hundreds of these victims gather to form this giant skeleton. they can't be killed since they're too big and powerful, however, they continue to exist until their hatred has run out. since these yokai are much less common in more recent times bc ppl are dying less, it's likely the conductor has been around for a very long time. over 1000 years ago, the father of a famous sorceress was killed and she continued his cause by using black magic to turn dead soldiers into the giant skeleton; gashadokuro. perhaps the conductor had a daughter during his lifetime.
onto the lollipop ghouls, they are based off of multiple yokais. their long necks came from mikoshi nyudo and rokurokubi. the detachment of their heads came from nukekubi, which is connected to rokurokubi. mikoshi nyudo linger around bridges at night, pretending to be wandering priests or monks. however, when someone looks up at a mikoshi nyudo, their neck grows abnormally longer and the person who looked up at them stumbles and falls backward and gets their throat torn out by the mikoshi nyudo's teeth. many are shocked and die, but there is a certain way to trick them.
the rokurokubi are ordinary women during the day and long-necked monsters at night who have done something bad, such as a sin against god or nature, and have been turned into rokurokubi as punishment. often, their husbands were responsible for said sin(s), but they managed to escape the curse and their wives were cursed instead. some never find out that they were rokurokubi.
nukekubi are closely related to rokurokubi. they are practically the same yokai, however they feed on blood at night rather than lamp oil and have a more violent nature. the curse can be passed on.
and last but not least, the head of the train is based off of the oboroguruma. it is a ghostly oxcart yokai with a large face. they are an object-turned-yokai created from carriages who have lost carriage fights over parking spots. the first oboroguruma was created from two rival ladies fighting over a parking spot for their carriages. taxi drivers often got into carriage fights for the most scenic parking spots in crowded areas such as festivals.
in-game, all of the express members poke fun at the concept of cuphead and mugman's deaths, but the yokais they were inspired by came to be bc of something bad they did or hatred for something or someone, which is the inspiration of my hc that phantom express magic distorts the memory, behavior, and physical appearance of the express members the more time they spend on it. so when they first got on the train, all of them more likely hated the living, especially those who tried to get on the express, but now make fun of them which was rooted in their original hatred/grudge, but eventually forgot abt it. it is also likely that all of them have been around for a very long time, particularly the conductor.
okay hope you guys enjoyed your meal

Betrayal Cuts Deep
Pairing: Sanemi x Fem!Reader
Warning: Mention of betrayal, this is not related to the actual story line, mention of suicide at the end, blood, killing.
Genre:Angst
Tumblr media
Blood dripped down your face, your body, and your katana. But that wasn’t the thing that pained you the most, the thing that pained you was the look on your lover's face. Horrid, betrayal, sadness, anger, and regret were flashing through his purple eyes. The one thing he hated the most was demons because they killed his entire family. So when he fell in love with you he swore to protect you from every demon, but what if you were one yourself.
One day the truth will come out, and that day will pain everyone. The person you love the most and the people you cared about were betrayed by you because you were selfish enough to stay. The truth was that you weren’t supposed to stay.
Flashback
“Y/n Miyabi, my strongest Kitsune. You are sent to the human world to wipe up all the traces of tengus living there. One has always said foxes and crows are never to cross paths, one stays on land, and the other flies through the sky.  Never to cross paths. But Tengus has been destroying almost all of our shrines. They declare war and I shall give in. So go my child.”
You nodded and opened a portal to the human world and erased all of your scent masking it with a human scent.
As you traveled the lands of the humans, killing one tengu by one. You encounter a demon trying to attack you but before you could kill it off a gust of wind came flying, you were quick enough to dodge the attack. “What is a girl doing out here at midnight?! You will be killed by a demon if you keep wandering around out here at night!” A rough voice yelled from the dust cloud caused by the wind.
The dust finally settled and revealed a tall, muscular, scarred, white hair boy. “Am I not allowed to be out here at night?” You cluelessly asked and he gave a short answer, “No”
So you asked him why and he told you or more like yelled at you that human-eating demons were roaming at night. So he demanded you to go home, but you told him you didn’t have a home. Which led him to stare at you blankly and hesitantly he offered you his estate to stay at.
That led to a love that you didn’t know you could feel. Which led to your mission which was supposed to take a maximum of two weeks into years.
Flashback ended
But a fantasy always comes to an end. The truth will be revealed. Love is replaced by betrayal. Just because of one single fight.
Flashback
After years of living with Sanemi, you have not realized that there was a kitsune shrine near his estate. Not until you smelt the smell of a tengu nearby. Still not forgetting what you were sent here for you set off to kill the tengu. Sanemi was on a mission so he wasn’t home, which was the perfect chance for you to go off.
Once you got closer, you transformed into your true form, a fox human with nine tails. You had the color of the white and black coat. One of your eyes turned from a brown/black into emerald green, the other one stayed the same. You wield your katana in one hand, the black and white represented your two tails, and each of your tails represented a power. The black and white powers were shadow and darkness and the other was light and brightness.
On your other hand was your third eye which looked like a big ghostly eye. This was called the curse of the third eye. You weren’t born with this power, you were cursed by Shuten-Doji the leader of yokai for disobeying the laws.
This power lets you make your enemies hallucinate, visualize, and physically a death you caused for them.
You walked towards the Tengu which gave off very powerful energy. Once you came into the range you opened your third eye, causing you to see the world in black and red. Letting you see every single movement. The tengu turned to you not yet putting the first attack. “You ruined my kind’s shrines and you think you can get away with it?”
The tengu cackles at your sayings and replies “So what we are just having a little fun, don’t you guys like being mischievous? You know with kitsune being a mischievous fox and all.” you scoffed at the comment, “Playing tricks and pranks are different than destroying one’s property.” You sent back at the tengu. “But oh how weak of them to send their strongest link after us tengus.” The tengu gave out a horrid laugh. That was when she came flying at you trying to swing her big wings at you.
You moved quickly and slashed at her wings. But she was fast and was already right behind you knocking you back into a tree. You threw your third eye into the sky pulling her into your world of hallucination. You managed to leap at her and slice one of her wings making her let out a horrid scream.
“You damn fox.” She screamed
She used her claw-like feet to scratch your back and then kicked you sending you to the ground. When you got up you met with the eyes of your lover and his peers. You froze which was an opportunity for the tengu to stab you piercing from your back to your stomach making you spew out blood.
You snapped back into reality using your magic to a barrier to protect Sanemi and the other hashiras.
“A kitsune protecting the ones she loves will be useless if you’re dead.” She laughs standing onto of you. But you smirked “But I won’t die if you don’t stab the right spot you stupid tengu.” You quickly moved and pierced her with your katana through her heart, killing her instantly. “What kind o yokai are you do not know a weakness of one.” You threw her body to the ground and pulled out her katana from your stomach which sealed up but still not fully healed.
Flashback ended
He saw the way you killed the tengu. He sees you covered in blood. He saw your true self.
“You’re a demon.” That was what he first said after a silence. You tried to approach him but with every step you moved forward he moved back. “Nemi… please I’m not a monster.” You stuttered out. “You are! All demons are monsters. You lied, you betrayed me. I loved you.”
His words pained you one by one but what mostly pained you was ‘I loved you’
“Please… don’t be like this Nemi. I know I am a demon and I know that I lied and all but I love you and I won’t hurt a soul.” Tears ran down your eyes.
“So you were going to hide it from me forever?! I was going to marry a demon without even knowing.” He screamed and you cried.
“I loved you truly I did Y/n, but I can no longer love you. You’re a demon. Your just a kind that kills and kills. War is all you guys want. Blood shed. I just want peace. To live in a world were my kids will not be murdered. Yet you live in a world were you kill others. You should’ve seen the way you looked killing the tengu. All I saw was pure evil in your eyes.” You could he was holding back every emotion.
“I-I’m sorry…” “No, you’re not! You know I hated demons. You know what they did to me. Yet you decided to lie and betray my trust. Leave. Leave forever. I don’t want to see you anymore.” He turned away.
Leave
You repeated the word over and over. Yet you didn’t move a muscle. Your eyes are still fixed on him.
A kitsune’s death is caused by only one thing, the pain of a heart.
A soul could perish due to heartbreak.
“This was my suicide mission. I love you always Sanemi Shinazugawa. Goodbye, forever my love.”
Everything turned black as your body turned to stone because you were stabbed physically in the hurt but you died due to the feeling of love.
Once your body turned to stone, Sanemi walked over to your statue putting his hand into yours while kneeling down. “May I see you in another peaceful life and may we fall in love truly.”

So for all of y’all, I’m writing a new homebrew world for a new set of players, and because I’m impatient and want to share some stuff, I will share the not too much spoilery things.
Today we’ll be talking about…
The Raven Queen
Tumblr media
(For the sake of clarification, my world/universe is called Locus, which is Latin for space.)
So. The Raven Queen is not the only death god in this world, nor was she the original. But she is by far one of the most powerful gods in all of Locus due to her manipulation of life, death, fate and memories. As much as the other gods don’t like it, she has a hand in a lot of domains and such has a lot of influence over the goings on in Locus’ Material Plane even if she doesn’t quite exert it. Her main domain is in death, though and she generally oversees death across the planes, seeing each soul to their righteous place.
Not much is known about the Raven Queen except that she was once a mortal who rose to godhood with the blessings of other gods, helped by a highly difficult ritual that enhanced her power to make her ascend. It was said that this ritual stripped the mortal realm of almost all evidence that showed that she was ever mortal, including names, memories and records. Only some highly vengeful entities whisper about her name, and even then, those are few and far between. The gods, with her permission, have only left one crumb of information about her with their followers, and that was what I just shared with you. Even then, it’s not exactly common knowledge.
Her titles range from The Matron of Ravens, the Goddess of Death, the Ascended One (though obviously this title would be later coveted by Vecna), the Fateweaver, the Queen of Memories, the Melancholic One, the Silent Death etc.
Her Champion is a half-elf reborn revenant named Ozymandias Esterrex. He is also known by many as the Fateseeker, the Reaper, the Guide, the Voice of Death, Death’s Advocate, He Who Speaks for Ravens etc. Far more is known about him, as he used to be a prolific High Cleric to the temple of the Raven Queen. Why he was chosen to be her Champion, nobody really knows, and anybody who usually gets too close to him dies.
When he was established as the Champion of the Raven Queen, he was sentenced to be executed and was beheaded for engaging in dark magic. It was said that the Raven Queen herself appeared, stitched his body back together with golden glowing thread, and allowed him to pass judgement on those who killed him. Ever since then, any attempts to kill him would only kill him temporarily, before he regenerates completely whole the next few hours or the next day, depending on how severe the death. He also does not seem to age, considering he had been around near the start of the War of the World till present day.
He has achieved almost a godlike status due to his immense power and his appearances in place of the Raven Queen, and many have wondered what the Matron of Ravens had seen in him for her to entrust an otherworldly amount of power onto a mortal (because at the end of the day, he was still blessedly alive). Many have speculated that he might have sold his soul to the Raven Queen for this. Either way, in present-day Locus, you can still find the Fateseeker living as an adventurer nomad or as ghostly visions as you brush against death. Despite his ‘mortal’ status, most paintings and depictions of the Matron of Ravens always have him by her side now. There are very few works pre-dating her Championship of Ozymandias that have survived to this day.
(Gonna stop talking about him here because he honestly deserves his own post to be talked about, and his relationship with the Raven Queen is another post in of itself. However the latter deals into some heavy spoilers.)
Of all the Celestial beings, the magic she grants to her followers is not considered pure divine magic despite being a god herself. Her magic is distinctive in the fact that it is a mix of eldritch, arcanic and divine energy, coming back to her roots of being mortal and rising to godhood via her own hard work, dark magic and gods’ blessings. It’s also partly due to the fact that her home plane is in Shadowfell, in a small pocket named the Loom inside an ice castle with golden glowing strings of fate trailing out from it and disappearing into the ether beyond.
Mostly souls of her followers reside in the Loom, though there have been some mortals who have braved the cold and darkness of Shadowfell and the Loom to seek favour from the Matron of Ravens. They have only ever been greeted by Ozymandias outside of the Ice Castle, and nobody, save for Ozymandias himself, knows what is inside the castle.
Her ravens, however, can be found flying to and fro from the spires of the castle, vanishing out of existence to teleport to other planes, to keep an eye where she or Ozymandias cannot. Her most loyal and trusted followers can turn into ravens, and they may return to the Material Plane with other ravens. However, all they can do is simply watch.
It is said that if you were not willing to give your soul to her, you must give something of equal value: your memories. Specifically, memories of happiness and/or love, be it from the people around you or you yourself. Be warned though, for when you choose to give your memories of love away, you also end up giving away your ability to love others.
To those who lived a long, long time, the Raven Queen is considered their boogeyman or friend, depending on how they lived their lives. For she is neither benevolent nor malevolent. She simply follows where the strings of Fate lead her despite her ability to manipulate the strings. The Raven Queen is probably one of the most hands-on gods in the world of Locus due to Ozymandias’ presence, but is also the most neutral, only interfering when the world is at stake by sending Ozymandias.
(Some people may claim that the Raven Queen does have a bias, and that bias is named Ozymandias. But most of Ozymandias’ individual pursuits have also been neutral and have aligned with the Raven Queen’s goals, therefore making this claim worthless.)
The Raven Queen neither looks down on mortals nor believes herself to be equal to them. She does not scoff at the ideals that mortals have of things such as love and hope. She does not speak, only communicating in sign language, and even then, mostly sends Ozymandias to speak and appear for her and he is not her.
All in all, most people do not have the foggiest clue about who or what the Raven Queen really is and if they know, her motivations and desires are unknown. She is one of the biggest mysteries in Locus’ history.
