Star Shoes
"Things had been going so well for him lately. He should have expected the other shoe to drop. Or the metal pipe in this case."
In which Danny and his totally normal boyfriend who is definitely not Red Hood are abducted by cultists. Danny is super concussed, but he's got the spirit.
@deadonmayn Day 2: Jason Has Magic | Ritual | Danny and Jason are abducted by the same cult | "You were never monstrous to me."
AO3 Link
One day! Danny had asked for just one day! One day free from ghosts and vigilante stuff! A single day off! Was that too much to ask?
In retrospect, he should have known something bad would happen. Things had been going too well for him lately.
Six months ago he began his degree in astrophysics at Gotham University. Since moving to Gotham, Danny and his apartment had yet to be caught in any sort of rogue attack or crime. It was certainly odd considering he was living in the crime capital of the country, but Danny decided he would take it.
Most of his classes were able to be taken online, which was much more accommodating for Danny’s schedule. Sometimes a baby ancient of space just had to stretch themselves out amongst the stars and let their form slip. Frostbite said it was important for his development. He even offered to write Danny a doctor's note, but something told him it wouldn’t go over well with the school.
Danny Fenton requires up to five days of star exposure per month or else he breaks out in fins and eyes that may cause you feelings of cosmic terror. Please excuse him from lecture.
   Yeah. That would work.
He didn’t need a note if the lectures were online anyway.
The online lectures were also easier for him on bad tremor days. Sometimes his legs would ache and shake and randomly lock too much for him to walk. It was so much easier to float on those days and just… let loose. His human visage had begun to feel too small and restricting. He could put up with it normally but it itched. It was harder to stay restrained when he also had to deal with the tremors. Luckily for him, the bad days had been decreasing lately.
By far the best part of the past six months was Danny’s new boyfriend. Jason was great! Better than great! Jason was amazing! They had only been dating for a month but Danny swore if anything happened to Jason he would kill everyone in Gotham and then himself (again). He had a sharp way with words that never failed to make Danny laugh, and though he may seem rude and grumpy on the outside, he was secretly a big sweetheart.
Danny had once seen him cry because of a feral (possibly radioactive) Gotham rat that was “just too small”.
There’s really no repairing your facade after that.
Truly, Jason was everything Danny could ask for in a boyfriend. Danny had worried that the questionable functionality of his legs would be a turn-off, but he had been pleasantly surprised. Jason never pushed him past his limits, in fact, he fought to keep Danny from doing so. On the bad days, Jason would make him soup and drape heating pads over his limbs. He would knead his knuckles into Danny’s muscles and press kisses to his trembling fingers. It didn’t make the bad days stop, but they became more bearable.
   Danny was so lucky.
So really, he should have expected the other shoe to drop.
Or the metal pipe in this case.
Groaning, Danny struggled to open his eyes. His head hurt like he had been doing shots for twelve straight hours and his mouth tasted like iron. He must have bitten his tongue. Or lost a tooth. They grew back so fast that it was honestly hard to tell.
  “D…n..”
   Someone was talking.
   “Da…n…”
Someone needed to shut up. Danny hated that name.
   “D…ny!”
   Ugh.
Vision swimming, Danny peeled open his eyelids. This… he was in a pawnshop? Why was he in a pawnshop?
   “Danny!”
   Oh.
   Jason is here.
   Hi Jason!
“Hey, baby,” Jason huffed in amusement.
Did he say that out loud? Fuck. He probably has a concussion.
“I’d be surprised if you didn’t with all the blood on your head.”
Blood? Danny tries to feel his face for it but instead finds his hands bound behind his back. He struggles to free them, not accomplishing much besides wiggling around on the carpet like a sad worm. He pauses once for breath and then resumes his wiggling in earnest.
Now hypothetically, Danny could just phase out of the restraints. One issue…
Jason was completely in the dark about the whole Phantom thing. They had only been dating for a month and like- how could Danny even bring that up?
Hey, just so you know I’ve died before and I’m technically still dead depending on how you think of it? Apparently I’m also a baby god which is news to me too so if that’s distressing for you imagine how I feel! And while we’re at it, I should let you know that your entire concept of the afterlife is probably wrong. Enjoy that crisis!
Okay, so Danny wouldn’t use those words exactly but that’s the gist of it. It’s some world-changing information and people have been dumped for less. Danny doesn’t want to scare Jason off!
And even if he was fine after that conversation, what about Danny’s other form? The one that Frostbite keeps calling his true form? It was… a lot, and he hadn’t been joking about the cosmic terror. If he were being honest, Danny barely felt human some days.
Danny allows his head to fall back to the floor with a thunk.
“Careful, darlin’,” Jason sounded concerned from where he was bound adjacent to him, “I think it's stopped bleeding. Don’t want you to open it again.”
“It’s fine. Worse than it looks.”
“...Do you mean better than it looks?”
“Yeah, that. Head wounds bleed a lot.”
It really was better than it looked. With Danny’s healing, it was probably entirely gone by now.
Jason looks like he is about to say something else when the backdoor opens.
In comes the most stereotypical cultists Danny has ever seen in his life. Actually, they were stereotypical but worse. The robes they wore looked plasticy and the black was off with a gross yellow undertone. Overall it was giving purchased off some shitty cheap website vibes. Like Wish.
They circle around Danny and Jason so perfectly synchronized that Danny knows they had to have practiced this. He imagines them running through their steps as if they were practicing for a dance recital. Did they have a choreographer?
“Why would we have a choreographer?”
Oh, Danny is speaking out loud again. Did he say the stuff about the robes?
   “What’s wrong with our robes?!”
“I love you, baby, but I need you to shut the fuck up.”
   Understandable. Have a nice day.
   Danny passes out.
When he wakes up again they are in a different room. Jason is struggling against a cloak’s hold and cursing up a storm in true Jason fashion. The cultists look a little worse for wear. The one holding his boyfriend looks like he might have gotten into a fight with a weedwhacker.
“Touch one hair on his head and I’ll fucking kill you!” Jason snarls.
He’s largely ignored by the cultists who continue with their preparations.
Danny finally takes stock of where he’s at. He’s still on the floor, but the carpet feels slightly different. The room is bare compared to the one they were in before. A desk and office chair are pushed against the wall to make room for the summoning circle. A summoning circle that Danny was currently resting in. As an offering. Great.
Flashing lights distract him from their predicament.
The guy closest to Danny was wearing light-up sneakers. Danny didn’t even know they made those for adults. Neat!
“Hey man, where did you get your shoes?”
He can’t see the cultist’s face but he assumes he’s raised an eyebrow with the way the hood crooks to the side.
Danny genuinely wants to know! The lights look like little stars blinking in the darkness. He has to have them.
Danny is about to ask again but is cut off by a loud curse.
   Jason?
   Jason!
   Danny has to save Jason!
He growls, eyes flashing for the briefest of moments before he can tone them down. Jason can’t know about Phantom. He’ll have to figure something else out. Actually, he might not need to figure anything out! Depending on who this circle summons this could be a nonissue.
Danny cranes his head to look at the circle.
Groaning, he allows his head to fall back against the floor for the third time that night.
This isn’t just any summoning circle. This is his summoning circle.
He lifts his head again to double check and yup, these idiots are using him as an offering for himself. Great job. Gold star.
This is both good and bad. Good because they are in no immediate danger outside of the world’s worst Grim Reaper cosplayers. Bad because Eldritch horror.
If these yahoos actually go through with the ritual and summon Danny, he’ll be forced into his ancient form in front of Jason. Probably. Danny wasn’t entirely sure that the ritual would work in the first place what with him already being there.
Danny spends too long thinking about the summoning logistics and not enough time actually stopping it. Before he can come up with a plan the cultists are chanting. He can feel the tug in his chest getting stronger and fins pushing against his skin. This was happening whether Danny wanted it to or not.
   “Jason, close your eyes!”
“Danny!” Jason was still squirming in Weedwhacker’s hold and valiantly trying to get to Danny. His teeth snapped dangerously close to the cloak’s fingers. Ancients, Danny loved his boyfriend.
“Trust me, Jason!” Danny yelled, choking down the mist trying to escape from between his shark-like teeth, “Close your eyes!”
With one last glance to verify that his boyfriend’s eyes are squeezed shut, Danny lets go.
   His very being unravels.
It feels good to be this big, no longer vacuum-sealed into a too-small bag. The fins along his tail flick, stretching now that they are no longer confined. The luminescent lights travel up and down them as if doing a calibration run. His body parts disappear into fine vapor whenever they move before reforming in their new positions. The very pulse of the universe thrums in his chest. He can feel so much. He can see so much. He lets out a cool, dead, misty breath.
   His eyes open.
   The screaming starts.
Danny grins, displaying his sharp teeth proudly. He flies through the air, knocking person after person to the ground. They fall like blades of wheat to a scythe, small and inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Just a speck in the eye of a giant.
Jason’s eyes are still closed. Good.
Danny plucks him from Weedwhacker, setting him gently to the side. He can’t stop himself from getting into Weewhacker's face and screeching. He watches with satisfaction as he crumples to the ground seizing.
The screaming eventually stops, the cultists catatonic on the carpet. Jason’s eyes are tightly shut. He’s breathing heavily, unmoving from where Danny had placed him.
Softly, ever so softly, Danny covers Jason’s eyes with his hands, careful not to prick him with his claws. He winds himself up tight, shoving himself back into his body like clothing in an overpacked suitcase. Gradually his claws shrink back into normal human digits.
His fingers shake with familiar tremors, still covering his boyfriend's eyes. Danny breathes shakily as Jason’s hands slide over his own.
   “Danny?”
   “Yeah.”
“Can I open my eyes now?”
He swallows hard, mentally preparing himself. Jason’s going to leave. Jason heard the screaming and felt his claws. He’ll see the cultists and know what he’s done. Jason knows what Danny truly is and he is going to leave.
“...Yeah,” it already sounds heartbroken as it leaves his lips.
Jason’s hands take Danny’s with care, removing them from over his eyes. He blinks, surveying the room and Danny knows this is it. He’s waiting for the look of horror or sneer of disgust he has become so achingly familiar with.
   Jason’s eyes meet his own.
“Hey baby,” He presses kisses to Danny’s quivering fingertips with careful affection. Just like on the bad days…
Danny sniffles, turning away with watery eyes and grit teeth. He wasn’t expecting this last scrap of kindness from Jason.
“No no no,” Jason squeezes his hands with gentle pressure. Not enough to hurt, never enough to hurt. “Look at me, Danny. Please?”
Danny’s head pounds, his vision is blurry, his skin itches, and his heart hurts. He just wants this night to be over. But he could never deny Jason.
Jason smiles at him, hands coming to rest on his cheeks. He wipes a stray tear away with his thumb, smudging some dried blood away with it.
   “There you are, handsome.”
More tears race down Danny’s face. His voice cracks, “I don’t… I don’t understand.”
“What don’t you understand, baby?” Jason asks, checking his hair for a wound that’s probably already gone.
   “You’re still here.”
Jason pauses his minstations, “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I-” Danny stops, addled brain thinking. Jason waits patiently for him to form the words, “I’m wrong. I’m not supposed to be like this,” Danny’s not sure how much sense he actually makes between the persistent concussion and rampant emotions, “I’m a monster.”
The look in Jason’s eyes turned steely, “You're not a monster, Danny.”
   “But-”
“No buts. You're not a monster. You wanna know how I know?”
Danny remained silent, swallowing around the lump in his throat. Jason considers him for a minute then continues anyway.
“I’ve seen monsters before. Monsters do awful things with only themselves in mind. Monsters go out looking for someone to hurt just because they can.”
Danny turns to look away again. It doesn’t matter that the timeline is gone or if he’s trapped in a thermos, the very concept of Dan will always haunt Danny.
“Danny,” Jason redirects his attention, gently turning his face back to him. Danny’s not prepared for the pure unbridled devotion in his eyes.
“You are the most selfless person I’ve ever met. You go so far out of your way to help others even when it becomes an inconvenience to you. It doesn’t matter if they are a stranger or not. Sometimes I worry you're going to get yourself kidnapped.”
Like today goes unsaid. Jason looks like he’s on the verge of tears too.
“You were never monstrous to me, and you never will be. How could you possibly be a monster?”
Danny sniffles again, leaning into his boyfriend’s touch. Jason readily accepts him into his arms, rubbing soothing circles on his back.
“Sorry…” Danny finally mumbles into his… shirt? Whatever Jason is wearing feels hard against his cheek. Danny doesn’t really care. His head hurts too much to think about it, “I shoulda told you.”
Jason quietly laughs, “Technically you still haven’t told me anything.”
Danny nods solemnly, wiping the last of his tears away, “Complicated.”
“Yeah, I get that,” he scoops Danny effortlessly into a bridal carry.
Danny yelps as the movement jostles his head. Jason makes a sound of apology.
His boyfriend’s eyes scan the room again, “How about you explain it all to me when you're no longer concussed? Besides, I have some things I need to explain to you too.”
“Sounds good,” Danny slurs as Jason walks them to the door.
They are about to step over the threshold when Danny suddenly REMEMBERS.
   “WAIT!”
Jason startles, looking around wildly, “What?! What is it?!”
   “The shoes!”
   “The shoes?”
“Yeah! The shoes! The star shoes!”
“...do you mean the light-up sneakers?”
Danny pouts at him but nods anyway, “The star shoes.”
“The star shoes, then,” Jason easily confirms, “What about them?”
   “I need to take em.”
Jason grimaces, “...Why? I can just buy you your own pair.”
“No! It’s not the same!” Danny whined, “They summoned me using me as an offering. I didn’t actually get anything!”
“Okay, I’ll go get his shoes-”
   “My shoes.”
Jason laughs, setting him down on the table just outside the door, “Wait here.”
Danny waits. His vision is still swimming in a blur of colors. Colors. He’s pretty sure he can taste colors now. The dull brown carpet is disgusting.
Jason remerges victoriously with star shoes in hand. Danny cheers, immediately making grabby hands. Jason passes them over with a look of mild disgust.
   “You ready to go now?”
Danny bats his eyelashes, throwing his arms (and shoes!) over Jason’s shoulders and around his neck. He presses in to rub his nose against his boyfriend’s, “Take me home?”
  “Of course.”
Danny had the best boyfriend.

Hi!! If you know the reference where the person A says the moon is beautiful without noticing the Person B saying yes beautiful while staring at Person A (//∇//) can I have that with the batboys? I know it’s corny lol thank you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hope this was what you envisioned but idk.
‘The moon is beautiful tonight.’ You said.
Jason who’s eyes never left you for a single second, seeing no point in staring at anything else when everything he’s ever wanted was right next to him, smiled at your need to bring attention to the beauty of other things others may walk right past by without a second thought.
‘The moons always has been beautiful, and it will only grow more beautiful as time continues.’ He replied.
You looked over at him, only to see that he was staring at you fondly and with a dopey smile spread across his lips, and immeditly felt very exposed by the way he looked at you as though you had intricately hung the very moon and stars above by hand. It was a look you weren’t use to being on the receiving end of -having only heard of similar looks being talked about in books or seen in movies- but now that you were you were at a loss on what to say or do.
‘You really mean that?’ You asked, finding a loose bit of fabric on your clothing extremely interesting all of a sudden.
‘I’d gladly say it a million times over if it makes it more easily believed.’ Jason said as he moved closer to you until your shoulders were touching, he then gently grabbed your hand away from fiddling the loose bit of fabric of your shirt and intertwined your fingers together, not once had his eyes left your person the entire time.
You smiled at him as you leaned yourself into him, leeching off of his warmth as you tried to go back to looking at the moon, but found it hard once you were made aware of the fact that Jason was staring directly at you as though he found something much more interesting to focus all of his attention on. ‘It’s hard to not believe it when your eyes look at me like that.’ You told him.
Jason tilts his head. ‘Like what sweetheart?’
‘Like I’m special.’ You replied.
Jason then chuckles before kissing the top of your head softly as he then rests his head against the side of yours. ‘I could write an entire essay on how special you are to me and still it wouldn’t be enough, so yeah you are special, more than you could possibly imagine.’
Dick smiled as he propped up his head in his hands as he watched how the moonlight practically illuminated you in your entirety.
It was almost as if a spotlight had shone down on you, making Dick unable to look elsewhere but you and that gorgeous smile that blossomed across your face, not that he needed to be forced to look at you when he could be doing so for the rest of his life if he was allowed that simple luxury.
‘The moon sure is beautiful indeed, can barely take my eyes off them.’ Dick said softly in response.
You then looked over at Dick, only to see him looking at you in a way that made your heart flutter and your face become warm. ‘You can stop looking at me now.’ You tell him.
Dick leaned against the railing with a cheeky smile. ‘Why? I was enjoying the view.’ He replied.
‘Oh so I’m the view now?’ You asked, putting your hands on your hips.
‘You always were the view babe,’ Dick said, ‘a view so beautiful I could barely take my eyes off of and I’m lucky enough to get to see it as often as I do.’ He adds as he pushed himself off the railing and walked towards you and held you by the arms.
‘You’re a sap.’ You laughed, feeling your cheeks grow even warmer.
Dick watched as you laughed and took the time to mentally engrave this moment to his memory, from the way your mouth opened to laugh, to the way your whole face practically light up and the way you stood out amongst the rest of the bright, vibrant lights. ‘Yeah but I’m your sap.’ He retorted as he held you against his chest as you both soaking in the moonlight together, all the while only ever looking at one another.
Tim
Was speechless, the words he had preplanned earlier within the day to say to you had long left him as he could only admire you as you basked in the moonlight and looking ethereal amidst the artificial city lights.
This was a state he often found himself in whenever you were just standing there and it was a little embarrassing for him because it only made him think of how obvious he had been about his feelings this entire time. However he couldn’t exactly blame you for being the epitome of perfection and beauty simply just by existing, Tim didn’t know it could be possible to feel this strongly about someone but here he was, unable to speak his mind in your presence without admiring your every feature as though he was seeing you for the first time again.
You furrowed your brows when you didn’t hear Tim say anything, becoming worried that he might’ve passed out from the lack of sleep he’s had recently and went to look over at him, only to see him looking at you with a wide eyed expression and flushed cheeks.
‘Tim, are you okay?’ You asked, moving towards him.
‘The moon is extremely beautiful tonight yes, even when they are within close proximity.’ Tim blurted out and you stopped when it hit you that he wasn’t talking about the moon, but more so about you and now you were both stood in silence and extremely flustered.
‘That’s, that’s really sweet of you Tim.’ You said, breaking the prolonged silence between the two of you as you felt butterflies within your stomach and a warmth spread throughout your chest.
‘It’s- I was only speaking the truth.’ Tim scratched the back of his head as he looked away from you for a split second before looking back at you, gauging your reaction as a positive one and took the chance to shuffle closer to you.
Tim had been in dangerous situations before but being this close to you, sharing a heartfelt moment between the two of you was enough to have him unable to think properly, his emotions were running rampant within him as his heart was unable to remain at a steady and consistent pace the more he was near you to the point he couldn’t help but be hyper aware of it.
‘Well I appreciate you being truthful,’ you tell him, flashing him a smile that almost ended him with how sweet, kind and loving it was, ‘it’s one of the many things I like about you Tim.’ You add as you then rested your head on his shoulder as poor Tim could only stand there stiff as a bored, but that didn’t matter as a smile grew across his lips and rested his head atop of yours, not wanting to say anything else incase it ruined the perfect mood.

YOUR NUMBER, TO GO .ᐟ
ft. kento nanami
cw : fluff. bakery owner! reader. nanami being absolutely smitten with you.
wc : 897
Tumblr media
nanami absolutely despised work environments. he didn’t like the exhausting feeling of sitting in an office, day to day, with nothing but papers and an annoying ring of the telephone to keep him company. he didn’t enjoy the daily routine of work, eat, work again, sleep, repeat. it was getting far too repetitive, and quite frankly, boring. how could he enjoy anything when work was always in the way?
that was until he spotted the cute little bakery on the corner during his lunch one day, practically calling his name to come inside.
as fate would have it, he entered through the dainty doors out of pure curiosity, and with the “—ding!” of a bell, he was greeted with the brightest, cheery smile he thinks he’s ever come across. the excited “ welcome! ” and delicious pastries reeled him in like a fish on a hook, met with a sweet girl dressed in an apron behind the counter. nanami believes he may have just found a gold mine.
he browsed the desserts from behind the glass case, unsure of what to decide on. the strawberry scones? maybe tiramisu? wait, there’s chocolate chip cookies too? he was stuck in his thoughts, options seemingly endless.
and you, an angel sent down to earth, began to speak again, tone sweet like honey, “ first time here? i can recommend you a few things if you’d like, sir. ”
nanami left with an entire box of pastries that day, and he didn’t have one single regret.
the next day, the same situation followed. and the day after, and again after that. his own legs began to betray him, automatically leading him straight down the path to your beloved bakery every time the clock hit 11:15. soon enough, he became one of your most loyal regulars.
you were incredibly warm and inviting. a breath of fresh air, giving him the push he needed to continue through his primitive work day. lunch time was his secret guilty pleasure, which was getting to buy some sweet desserts from an even sweeter girl, who called him “ mister nanami ” as she welcomed him in with a honeyed hello. over time, nanami started to realize that not only were you a pleasant person, but you were also incredibly endearing.
that now leads nanami to his latest predicament, which was how to ask for your phone number without looking like an idiot.
it starts with him showing up to your shop, dressed in his usual work atire, you looking in his direction at the sound of the bell. he makes his way to the display case, mind still whirring with what he should say.
“ oh! mister nanami, i have a new treat today! would you like to try one? ”
nanami is snapped out of his churring decisions, turning to you as you hold out a tray of what you had decided to make today. ah, strawberry sundaes.
“ oh, i’d love to. ” is what he responds with, smiling as you nod your head, taking one to neatly package up for him.
nanami watched your soft, delicate hands wrap his dessert in a pretty cellaphane, all the while you hum to yourself in content as you tie a bow to close it off. your soft humming to the tune that plays like a melody is all too enticing, and— oh, he’s staring. you’ve really got him wrapped around your sugar coated fingers, without a single idea of it. nanami curses himself, really, for not being man enough to grab your phone number before this. hm, how improper and cowardly of him.
“ here you are ! please, tell me how it tastes. i tried a new recipe ! ”
nanami is about to hit his thirties and yet, he feels like a child with the way his heart rate picks up at the sound of your voice. he shovels the comically tiny spoon into the sundae before taking a bite with everything on it.
you’re beautiful and you surely can make a mean sundae. that’s one thing for certain.
“ it’s delicious, as always. how much do i owe you ? let me grab my wallet— ”
“ it’s on the house ! ”
and another thing, you were just so damn generous.
“ i couldn’t possibly— ”
“ mister nanami, i insist ! you’re here almost every day, it’s the least i can do for my favorite customer ! ”
oh ?
nanami thinks all of his logistics may have been thrown out of the window, because the second he heard the implication of him being your favorite customer, accompanied by the precious blush that covers your cheeks, he really doesn’t mind being bold for once in his life.
“ ah. well i don’t want to be greedy, but i wouldn’t mind having something else on the house… ”
“ of course ! anything at all really, what would you like ? ” you innocently asked.
“ is your phone number on the menu ? ”
not a day in nanami’s life would he of ever expected himself to use such a cheesy pick up line on the sweetest girl, but when he sees that same old smile that drew him to you in the first place, he doesn’t regret it one bit.
“ for here or to go, mister nanami ? ”

His Voice
Based on this post by hazelfoureyes
Tumblr media
The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. I stretched and yawned, trying to shake off my dreams. Alastor was already awake, a mischievous smile playing on his lips as he watched me.
The day started innocently enough. I was still groggy, trying to shake off the remnant of sleep. His presence was immediate, commanding, and I could feel his breath against my ear before he even spoke.
"Good morning, my dear," he purred, settling behind me and leaning close. His breath tickled my ear, sending shivers down my spine. "Did you sleep well?"
I nodded, unable to find my voice. Just hearing him speak made my knees weak, and he knew it. He reveled in the power he held over me, the way his voice could make my whole body tense with anticipation. He grinned, watching my reaction as his voice washed over me. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he relished every second of it. Just hearing him speak made me weak, and he exploited that mercilessly.
Throughout the day, Alastor's presence was a constant, teasing whisper in my mind. While I tried to make plans with the others, he would disappear. Just when I thought I was safe, when I thought I’d finally get a break… Alastor melted into the shadows, but he remained, his voice echoing around me. No one else seemed to hear it, but for me, it was impossible to ignore.
"Are you sure that's the best course of action?" he would murmur, his voice wrapping around me like a velvet glove. "Perhaps there's a better way." His tone dripped with amusement. “I can think of much better ways to spend our time."
No one understood why I kept stopping, fidgeting, shifting my legs. They didn't know the torment I was under, the growing arousal that Alastor was so intentionally triggering in me. I tried to ignore it, to focus on the task at hand, but it was impossible. His voice kept pulling me back, a constant reminder of how I was feeling. My teammates glanced at me, confused by my sudden pauses and distractions, but I couldn't explain it to them. How could I?
By lunchtime, he was seated beside me, leaning in close to tell me mundane things about his day. His breath on my skin, his words a low murmur in my ear, drowned out all other sounds. I couldn't think, couldn't focus on anything but him. He was leaning in so close that his breath tickled my ear. "I spent the morning thinking of you," he said softly, his voice a private melody only I could hear. "Every moment, every thought was about you."
All other sounds faded away. The clinking of dishes, the chatter of the others-it all became background noise compared to the intimate whispers in my ear. I struggled to maintain my composure, my body responding to him in ways I couldn't control.
"The residents were particularly restless today," he said, his voice a soothing caress. "But I managed to take care of them, as always."
I nodded absently, my mind only half on his words. The rest of me was consumed by the heat his presence stirred within me.
The evenings were the worst. We both knew what was coming, and Alastor took his time, drawing out the anticipation. He made a show of rambling on, his bright, bell-like voice dipping into a deeper octave that pulled my attention straight to his mouth. As I tried to finish up my tasks for the day, he leaned over me, his chest barely brushing against my back. The vibrations from his voice reached me, teasing and tantalizing. I tried to focus on the task at hand. I couldn’t.
"Did you know," he said, leaning over me as I sat at my desk, "that the night sky is particularly clear tonight? The stars are quite beautiful."
I crossed my legs self consciously, my face heating up.
"You know what's coming, don't you?" he murmured, his lips so close to my ear. "You can feel it, can't you?"
I could only nod, my focus shattered by his relentless teasing. It was cruel, and he knew it, but that only seemed to make it more enjoyable for him.
Finally, it was bedtime. Alastor covered my eyes with a slip of fabric, his touch gentle but firm. "No peeking," he commanded softly. "Hands to your sides."
"Just listen." l obeyed, lying still as he hovered above me. His voice was a dark promise, every word a caress. "I'm going to touch you," he whispered. "Here, and here... Can you feel it?"
His hands followed his words, each touch sending shivers through my body. "Just listen to me," he continued. "Let my voice guide you. There's nothing else but my voice and my touch."
I felt him hover above me, his breath warm against my skin. "I'm going to touch you here," he said, his hand grazing my collarbone. "And here," his fingers trailed down my arm.
In the darkness behind the blindfold, my world narrowed to the sensation of his fingers and the sound of his whispers. Every caress was anticipated, described in vivid detail before I felt it. It was maddening and exhilarating all at once.
I shivered, my body alive with anticipation. "And then," he continued, his voice a promise, "I'm going to kiss you here," his lips brushed against my neck, sending a jolt of electricity through me.
"Alastor," I breathed, my voice trembling with need.
"Do you like this?" he asked, his tone teasing. "Do you enjoy how my voice makes you feel?"
"Yes," I breathed, the word barely a whisper.
He chuckled, a low, satisfied sound. "Good. Now, let's see how far we can take this."
He narrated every touch, every caress, his voice a soothing balm and a burning fire all at once. He said he’d take off my shirt and he did. He said he’d tease my clit and he did. Each word was a warning, providing me an out if I was uncomfortable. I loved it. I was lost in the sensations, the sound of his voice guiding me, grounding me.
His voice was everything.

“I can’t believe I have nothing to wear.”
“You do realize that you’re standing in a dressing room with - I don’t know, a thousand dresses surrounding you?”
You threw your head back before turning to look at Bucky who was still in bed, with his back against the fluffy pillows while he read something on his phone.
“Well fine, I have nothing to wear for tonight!” you said. “Not that I give a shit about this dinner, but a bunch of people will be there, so I can’t just show up in anything.”
“Why didn’t you buy something beforehand?”
“Becca offered to take me shopping but I said no.”
He looked up from his phone, a worried expression crossing his handsome features.
“Charm,” he said. “Come here.”
You tilted your head. “Why?”
“I’ll feel your forehead, are you sick?”
You rolled your eyes at him and turned back to shuffle through the hangers again while he chuckled.
“I just have other stuff in mind,” you muttered. “Like how my father has been involving Ian more in the business ever since I had that meeting with Steve.”
“It doesn’t matter how much he tries to involve him, no one takes Ian seriously.”
“No one takes me seriously either.”
“People take you seriously,” he told you and you bit inside your cheek, then stepped out of the dressing room to lean back on the frame.
“Did Clifford say anything?” you asked. “Was it HYDRA or just him?”
“Looks like just him,” Bucky said. “I’m glad you brought it up by the way, because I have a question.”
You hummed as he sat up straighter in bed and you tried not to gawk at his muscular chest. The prick was used to sleeping half naked, -a human furnace, as much as you could tell- so every single morning and night you had to remind yourself that it was just a business deal, and you weren’t supposed to ogle business deals and their sculpted bodies.
As hot as they were.
“Why did you let me know?”
“He would’ve shot you otherwise.”
“I thought you’d want that.”
You made a face. “Of course I would not, you idiot.”
Bucky raised his brows before lifting your pillow to show you the small knife you had under it, and before you could protest, he lifted his own pillow so that you could see his own knife under it. You shrugged your shoulders.
“That doesn’t mean anything!” you exclaimed. “Other than the fact that we’re a cautious couple. Mine is there just in case.”
“In case you want to stab me in my sleep?”
“In case anyone wants to stab us in our sleep,” you said, your face burning. “Why is yours there?”
“A habit at this point.” he admitted. “Same with the guns under the bed.”
“Ah, I almost forgot about them,” you mused and he tilted his head.
“So you don’t want me killed?”
“No, I’d have to wear black.”
He blinked a couple of times. “Sorry?”
“I can’t pull off black dresses, ask Becca.”
He heaved a sigh. “That’s very thoughtful of you, Charm.”
You let out a small laugh.
“I happen to think we make a good team,” you said, leaning on your hip and a smile curled his lips, making you narrow your eyes at him.
“If you make an innuendo Bucky, I swear—”
“I won’t,” he said, holding up his hands. “I promise. So you didn’t let them shoot me because we make a good team?”
You shrugged your shoulders. “That’s one of the contributing factors.”
“What are the other factors?” he asked, hope shining in his blue eyes and you arched a brow.
“My carnal desires for you,” you deadpanned with the most monotone voice you could muster. “Take me Bucky. Rip off my clothes and claim me right here right now like you’re a knight and I’m a princess and we've been yearning for each other despite our kingdoms being enemies.”
“Incredibly seductive,” he pointed out. “Does your dirty talk always include historical tropes?”
“Yeah, always,” you said and turned around to shuffle through the hangers again, pulling out a dress only to toss it aside. You could hear his chuckle and you bit back a smile, frowning at yourself.
“No seriously,” he said and you grinned.
“My dirty talk sometimes also includes—”
“No not that,” he cut you off. “What’s the other contributing factor?”
You clicked your tongue, making yourself busy with yet another dress. The truthful response would be that you had grown quite fond of his presence against your better judgement, but there was no way you could tell him that.
This was a business deal, nothing more.
“Why do you want to know?” you asked back before stepping out of the dressing room to hold the dress over your body. “Is this pretty?”
“Yeah.”
“You didn’t even look at it!”
“You’ll look gorgeous no matter what you wear,” he stated as if it was the absolute truth and you pulled back slightly, narrowing your eyes to see whether he was joking but he looked very genuine. “You do realize that if they killed me, you’d have the right to—”
“To take over your family business and become the boss yes,” you said. “Contrary to popular belief, I don’t want to be just another boss in this town, I want the business with my last name on it.”
“But does it matter?”
“It does,” you said. “Ian is the one who wants power and power only. I need the legacy as well, and I need—” you paused for a moment, shaking your head. “I need it to be mine.”
He offered you a soft smile.
“What’s mine is yours, Charm.”
A warmth spread through your chest, sending a pleasant tingling underneath your skin and you stared at him for a couple of seconds in complete silence before biting back a smile and turning around to walk back into the dressing room.
“Fine,” you said. “This dress it is.”
                                              *
Neither you nor Bucky were strangers to being dragged to a dinner with other families once in every three months but this was the first time you and he were attending it with the rest of the families. This was also the first time you were sitting at the Barnes table rather than your father’s, and you tried not to go over to your father’s table to hear what he and Ian were talking about.
You and Becca never sat at your own tables anyway, but it was still quite symbolic.
George and Winnifred seemed to have moved past the argument from earlier, and Bucky played along even if you weren’t ready to do the same yet so you, Becca and Sarah went by the bar after the food was served and you’d had your dinner.
“Y/N?”
You snapped out of your thoughts and looked at Sarah. “Hm?”
“Stop worrying about that,” she told you with a nod to your father’s table and you took a sip of your wine before looking around the room. Bucky was by the corner, talking to Sam and Steve while Natasha and Tony seemed to be in a deep discussion by Clint’s table.
“I’m not,” you lied through your teeth as you stole a look Ian who motioned at Ryan to come closer, then muttered something to him to make him nod. “I’m just…he’s still angry at me for trying to get involved.”
“Well, good thing there’s nothing he can do about it,” Becca said and you huffed out, motioning at the bartender for another cocktail.
“He barely said hi to me.”
“Well, your father is dramatic and so is mine,” Becca stated. “We’re used to that.”
“What did Bucky do with the guy who tried to shoot him?” Sarah asked and you shrugged your shoulders.
“Killed him,” you said. “After he made sure to get as much information as possible.”
“Not HYDRA?” Becca asked with her brows furrowed and you shook your head.
“No,” you said. “Doesn’t seem like it at least.”
“I don’t buy it,” Sarah said. “It has to be related.”
“Well if he was an agent of HYDRA, he took it to his grave,” you muttered when the bartender put your drink in front of you. “But I agree. Especially lately, they’re attacking everywhere and everyone.”
“Exactly.”
“Oh, desserts!” Becca said as she caught the sight of waiters walking around the tables. “Let’s have dessert! Sarah?”
“I have to talk to Sam but I’ll drop by your table,” she said and you nodded, then walked with Becca to the Barnes table, still holding your drink. Bucky turned his head when he saw you out of the corner of his eye, then made his way to your table and sat down right beside you.
“Everything alright?” George asked him and he nodded.
“Yeah.”
“What were you guys talking about?” you asked him quietly and Bucky heaved a sigh.
“Well, I need to find another person for the shipment issue after…you know?”
“Killing the guy?” Becca said helpfully and Bucky nodded.
“Sam does have a candidate in mind.”
“Who?”
“A new player,” Bucky said. “She’s supposed to be incredibly good at what she does, Sam is very impressed by her.”
“And her background?”
“Has been checked three times,” Bucky said and you all turned your heads when the chatter among the restaurant ceased and you raised your brows when you saw your father standing up.
“What’s going on?” you asked Bucky who shook his head.
“I have no idea,” he muttered and your father cleared his throat, then smiled at the completely quiet restaurant.
“Hello everyone,” he said. “I know that we’re all enjoying our desserts and drinks, but now that everyone is here, I’d like to make a short speech. Not to worry, I’m not going to take too much of your time, the dessert looks too good for that.”
Polite chuckles rose from different tables and your father heaved a sigh while Bucky reached out to squeeze your hand with his vibranium one, as if sensing your sudden discomfort.
“I find myself treasuring these quarterly dinners as I grow older,” he said. “Getting old in our line of work is a privilege, which…George agrees with me I’m sure.”
George chuckled. “Still younger than you Arthur!”
Your father waved a hand in the air while people laughed.
“I do hope that everyone in this restaurant gets to have this privilege,” he said. “And I must admit, I’m not ready to retire like George even though he is younger than me,” he said with a grin, coaxing chuckles out of people again. “There’s no harm in thinking about the future.”
You blinked a couple of times while Bucky sat up straighter, his body high on alert. Your father’s gaze fell on you and he swallowed thickly, then turned to the rest of the people in the room.
“That’s why I’m very happy to put some rumors to rest and announce that I chose Ian as my heir.”
Your heart dropped to your stomach as you let out a breath, gawking at him. Becca gasped beside you while most of the restaurant started clapping and Bucky squeezed your hand again before leaning in.
“Calm down,” he murmured to you. “It’s fine Charm, we already have a plan. This changes nothing.”
You were trying so hard to keep your expression calm that you had to bite at your tongue to focus. The rage shot through you like lightning, a hot tingling spreading from the top of your head down to your fingertips and you clenched your jaw, forcing yourself to take a breath through your nose. You could see that Steve, Sam, Natasha and Clint were among those who weren’t clapping for Ian, and Ryan shot you an apologetic smile while Ian stood up, your father patting him on the back.
Calm.
You had to stay calm.
“Thank you, uncle,” he said with a proud smile on his face before turning to the crowd. “Well I won’t keep you guys long either, don’t worry.”
You dug your fingernails into your palm, trying to swallow the lump in your throat while keeping your gaze on him.
“I just wanted to say thank you,” Ian said. “To my uncle, who has been a father to me for the majority of my life, who has guided me and taught me everything. I will not fail you.”
Breathe.
In and out.
“And of course, to Y/N,” Ian turned to you. “My dearest cousin who chose love as her path rather than business. I hope that both of us will be very happy with our choices and responsibilities.”
Motherfucker.
It was a well-crafted lie, you had to admit, so much that you couldn’t even make sure that Ian had come up with it. Not only was he taunting you, but he was also doing it in a way that every single boss, every single player in this restaurant would think you were just a love-struck girl who wasn’t interested in the business.
Just another mob wife.
“And I’d like to hear what she has to say,” Ian said, smiling at you. “Y/N?”
Bucky looked like he was two seconds away from pulling out his gun but you took a shaky breath, then stood up and forced yourself to smile at the room while Ian sat down.
“Well I guess you have no excuse left Ian, we need to teach you how to fight,” you told him, drawing out chuckles from around the room and Ian’s smile faltered for a moment before he raised his glass at you.
“Um…” you gulped down and stole a look at your father. “I think I was ten when I realized that I actually wasn’t the firstborn, the business was. Me and Becca used to joke about it.”
Bucky drummed his fingertips on the table.
“And my mom used to say that when you’re a good parent, you want your children to do better than you,” you said, making your father swallow thickly. “That’s the ultimate goal, she would say. Happier, more successful, you name it. She would say that’s the thing that would make a parent most proud.”
Ian narrowed his eyes, looking between your father and you, and you grabbed your glass to raise it.
“So, father,” you said, looking him dead in the eye. “I’m very sure that the person who takes over will be so successful that the only thing everyone will talk about is how much better it got after you.”
Sarah leaned her fist on her lips to hide her laugh while your father stared at you, then nodded slowly, gritting his teeth before smiling at you.
“Enjoy the dessert!” you told the room and people clapped as you sat down. Bucky was still glaring daggers at your father and you took a huge sip of your drink while Becca leaned in closer to you.
“Let the war begin, I guess?” she murmured and you let out a breath, then clicked your tongue.
“Yeah,” you muttered as you shot your father a calm smile. “Let the war begin.”

ps- this is very short :p. lmk if ya'll would like a part two hehe.
little train
Tumblr media
you shouldn't be thinking about his biceps. not when you're out and about in public. but still, your mind doesn't stop reeling. you watch the sun rays reflect on his brown skin, reflecting the stretch marks he's got on his arms. they're beautiful, you think, as the veins pop from within his skin. he inhales another puff from the cigarette, watching as the smoke ascends into the sky.
'want one, love?' he asks.
'no mr. potter,' he huffs.
'i've asked you so many times to not call me that. you know you can call me james,'
'ah-okay, james, i don't want a cigarette.' he laughs.
'i don't think i'd be able to handle two stoners either ways.'
you're listening to him intently. at least that's what he thinks.
your mind however in occupied in the idea of having his hand wrap around your throat, as he'd push you to the wall, kissing you harsh. you imagine his fingers exploring every bit of your bare skin, with his rough calloused hands. you'd let him, happily. and even if deep down you know it was wrong to be fantasizing about your best friend's dad.
god, you couldn't help yourself.
'love, are you listening?' he asked, apparently caught up on the way you'd zoned out. you'd been practically zoned out, mesmerized by his biceps. he threw the cigarette on the ground, crushing it with the sole of his shoe.
you'd been caught. fuck.
'you seem lost, are you okay?' he said, moving towards you. he was wearing a compression sleeveless shirt paired with gray sweatpants. the ultimate outfit to get you reeling and drooling over him.
'i-ah- i zoned out, james. i'm okay,'
he didn't buy your lie. instead, he offered you a wicked smile.
'you are?'
'totally,' you answered, overly cheerful.
'and i totally believe you.' you blushed, cursing yourself internally.
'now tell me, what is your pretty mind thinking about?' he said, moving closer. you stammered, taking a few steps back.
'i-i'm just thinking about-'
'about?' he knew what you'd been thinking about. you could see it in his eyes. in his soft hazel eyes there was a twinge of malice, a twinge of mischief which you could recognize so well. and god forbid it made you so weak in the knees. you closed your eyes, trying to let your heart stop before you spoke the next words,
'you know what i'm thinking about, james.' he smiled lopsidedly, as if greatly amused, running his tongue over this upper row of teeth.
'do i now, love?'
'i think so, yes.' even if you're faking your confidence, he can right see through your act. he can see you crumbling from within as he towers over you, asking you mundane questions. and god does he love the effect he has on you.
he tests the waters, his palm coming closer to your face. you lean towards it, but just as your face is about to touch the crevice of his palm, your best friend shouts,
'oi! papa! i'm coming,' you jump away from him as harry comes running towards james. in your head, you hate how harry came in and ruined the moment. but you're also grateful because you didn't think you'd be able to control yourself if he held your face. however, it was safe to say the ride back home was more torturous than ever.
he kept tapping his fingers on the passenger's seat while he drove, seemingly nonchalant. but boy both of you knew it drove you fucking crazy.

thinking about nanami as a step-dad to your kid…
[cws] fem reader -> reader is a mom. suggestive.
-
Nanami stepped into the role very easily, despite thinking he wouldn’t. He wasn’t ignorant to the fact that some people saw him as a sort of custodial figure, Itadori and Ino specifically, but they were both well and grown now, and your kid was…well, a kid.
Your son was only just getting out of diapers, and still refusing to give up his pacifier. Nanami was an only child and he had never known anyone with children, so his experience with toddlers was nonexistent, but you had been patient with him as you showed him the ropes.
Diaper changes that morphed into helping him on the potty, warming of bottles that morphed into trying to discern what food he was willing to eat that day, rocking to sleep that morphed into the reading of bedtime stories and the ritual of checking the closet and underneath the bed for monsters.
He had eagerly learned it all from you, even going beyond and researching a few things on his own - things that had always stumped you and left you frustrated. Like when your son had refused to eat anything but plain waffles for two days straight and you were sure he was going to develop some kind of deficiency - he didn’t, and all it took was Nanami cooking all his (and yours) favorite foods for the boy to finally crack and start eating.
Or when he had went through a phase of ripping his diaper off and running around the house nude - that hadn’t been fun for anyone. You had been at your wits end, overwhelmed and teary-eyed as you watched the mayhem unfold, and Nanami had stepped in easily enough with a firm voice and even firmer look and that issue hadn’t happened again since.
He found himself doing that a lot - being the firm one. You could never bring yourself to be but so firm with him, always crying to Nanami about how ‘sad he had looked, Kento! I feel like an evil mother!’. He tried to assure you that telling your son no, he couldn’t climb onto the dinner table and belly flop onto the floor didn’t make you an ‘evil mother’, but he didn’t particularly mind dabbing your tears away and placating you with kisses.
Nanami was the one to enforce bedtimes, the one to keep him from drawing on the walls and furniture, the one to make him clean up his mess after a tantrum, the one that had to carry him kicking and screaming out of stores because of a candy bar that wasn’t bought…
~
“I think he missed you, Kento.” You speak in a hushed tone as you curl into his side, fingers mindlessly toying with the blonde hairs on his chest. He gives you an unbelieving look, hand moving to rub at your knee, your leg thrown on his hips. “Really, I do! He was so fussy this week while you were away, I couldn’t even get him to calm down with bath time.”
He hums, recalling just how eager your son had been to point at the front door and stomp his foot when he saw Nanami dressed and ready to go. It had been cute, a tad offensive as well, but cute nonetheless.
“How’d you get him to nap?”
“I used that trick you taught me. The one where you rub your finger between his eyebrows,” you demonstrated on Nanami, finger smoothing out the crease that had settled between his brows, “and play in his hair.” You combed your fingers through blonde locks, and Nanami relaxed further into the bed. “He was out in five minutes.”
He quirks a brow.
“More like thirty but who’s counting, y’know? He’s sleep and that’s all that matters.” Nanami lets a tired, amused grin curl onto his lips.
“How long has he been sleep?” The hand that had been rubbing at your knee slides a bit further up your leg, fingers now kneading into the fat of your thigh.
“Mm, maybe an hour? He shouldn’t be up for another hour at least… plenty of time for me to show you just how much I missed you.” Your lips meet the underside of his chin, and he tilts his head up and to the side, allowing you to trail kisses down his throat. “Did you miss me too, Ken?”
“More than I’d like to admit.” He tugs you onto his lap so you’re straddling him, hands immediately moving to palm at your ass through your shorts. “I already let the office know that I won’t be available for anymore overseas trips due to family matters.” Your eyes sparkle at his words.
“Family matters?” You repeat, hands splayed across his chest as you begin to rock your hips down against him. His jaw clenches at the feeling, arousal pooling in his gut and warming his skin.
“Yes, family matt—” Your lips are on his before he can finish his sentence, and he has no complaints, easily opening his mouth so your tongue can venture inside. His hands help you rock back and forth on top of him, his own hips occasionally bucking up into you.
A creak sounds just outside the bedroom door and Nanami pauses, lips going still against yours as he strains to hear. “Honey,” he calls, mouth breaking away from yours.
“Yes, Ken?” You breathe out as you sit up, your full weight now weighing down on his heavy, aching cock. “What’s wrong?” You take his hand and guide it underneath your shirt, his rough palms meeting soft, supple skin. He groans low in his throat when he reaches your breast, thumb smoothing over a puckered nipple. “I thought you missed me?”
“I did—fuck, I did.” He traps your nipple between the knuckles of his pointer and middle finger, pulling a soft cry from you, and his mouth runs dry at the sound. “But—”
“But what, Ken?”
Creak.
The both of you hear it this time and pause, heads turning to the cracked bedroom door. You scramble off of him in a flash, his hand slipping from underneath your shirt as he sits up in the bed to place a pillow over his lap while you straighten your clothes.
A sleepy ‘mama’ sounds, and you’re on your feet in the next second, hushes already leaving your mouth as you pull the door open to reveal a sleepy-eyed toddler. Your son has his signature blanket clutched in one arm, and his pacifier hanging from the clip on his pajama top.
You scoop him up into your arms as you gently bounce him, and Nanami smiles at the sight. “Did you have a good nap, sweetie? You want mommy to make you a snack—”
“Nana!” He suddenly shouts, gaze finally falling on Nanami, and all the sleep that had been in his face melts away. “Nana!”
“Nanami? Yeah, he just came—oh.” You hurry to set him down on his feet as he struggles in your grip, and he wastes no time dashing to the bed and clambering up onto it and launching himself into Nanami’s chest.
He catches him easy, arms closing around him as the both of you share a look of surprise. He ruffles his hair and pats his back, and your son squeals out a laugh as he pulls back to place his hand against Nanami’s face.
“Nana stay? Nana stay home?” You climb back into bed beside him, head moving to rest on his shoulder.
“Yes, I’m going to stay. I’m not going anywhere.” He assures, and your son’s face crumbles as he lets out a cry. You pout from beside him, and Nanami rubs his back and guides him to lay against his chest, a warm, fluttery feeling blooming inside.
“See?” You whisper in his ear. “I told you he missed you.”

It isn't wise harass Alastor's assistant. A man learns this the hard way.
Human Alastor x Reader
Warnings: Violence, unknowing cannibalism
--
What a pleasant night.
“F-fuck, please – what do you want?! I’ll… I’ll do anything!” The man pleaded, sniveling as he tried to crawl back, “J-just don’t kill me!”
What lovely begging.
Alastor hummed, eyeing the fallen man as he wondered in which way he should slaughter him that would best satisfy him and his current needs.
Should he just blow the man’s brain out? It’s not like he needed his head for anything – nothing really too edible there. It always made such a mess.
Maybe cut the man’s throat and make it a quick one? It always did give him a thrill to watch the life fade from one’s eyes and the absolute terror on their faces when there was nothing to be done.
Possibly chop the man’s limbs off and watch him slowly bleed to death? He would probably put up too much of a fight and ruin too much of his meat and it would take far too long.
“Do you remember me?” Alastor asked, causing the man’s eyes to finally look at his face rather than the rifle in hand, “Or actually, do you remember the woman at the radio station earlier today?”
“Y-yeah, ‘course I remember you!” The man simpered, as if sucking up would actually save his life, “You’re Alastor Hartfelt, right? That radio host who’s the talk of the town right now?” His face twitched, “So, why you doing this?! Don’t fucking tell me…!” His eyes widened when he finally figured it out.
He wasn’t getting out of here alive.
“I asked, ‘do you remember the woman at the radio station earlier today’?” Alastor didn’t flinch in the least as he pulled his axe from the holster at his hip, swinging it down in a smooth motion, and easily severing the man’s hand.
He was screaming now, of course, in complete shock at the brutal action and he tried to scramble to his feet to run for his life, but Alastor already had his rifle at the ready, easily shooting him in the foot before he could do anything.
“I’d rather not repeat myself for a third time,” Alastor looked on in a bit of distaste when the man vomited, heaving and twitching around in agony. “It is why you are here, after all.”
The man didn’t answer or didn’t even hear him as he curled up into a sad little ball, causing Alastor to sigh in slight disappointment that his hunt was already over, but preparing meat took time and he had already invited you over to dinner the next night, so it was fine.
“Didn’t your mother teach you any manners?” Alastor knew he was talking to himself at this point as he knelt down as he reached for his knife from his belt, “I’d rather you not treat women like objects that you can use whenever you feel like it. Far too many men are like this. Imagine how Y/N felt when you cornered her in my radio station and groped her like a mindless animal? Perhaps as helpless as you are now? In any case, I do not tolerate any disrespect of such kind, especially with my lovely little assistant.”
He was rambling, he knew, he always did get like this when it came to you and your wellbeing.
“I’ve spent too much time on you,” Alastor tightened his grip on his knife, “I have a meal to prepare. I do hope you taste better than you look, my good chum.”
He hoped you liked Jambalaya.
“This is amazing!”
Alastor smiled, feeling absolutely pleased at your joyful expression as you took a bite of his cooking, clearly delighting in the flavour, “It’s my mother’s recipe, you see.” His eyes flashed, a dark satisfaction building up in him, “I’m glad you like it. I thought the meat might have been of too low quality.”
“No, no!” You went to reassure him, “I’m nothing fancy!” You eagerly took another bite. “You are a very good cook. Your mother must have taught you well. She must be very proud.”
“I would like to think so.” Alastor’s smile softened briefly at the thought, “I do try to be nothing less than a true gentleman. I believe my mother would have liked you very much so. I would like to share more of her recipes with you, if I may be so bold to ask?”
You flushed, looking down at your food before peering back up to Alastor with a shy smile, “I would like that too.” You did not recognize the mania behind Alastor’s eyes as you continued to eat his cooking.
“I’ll keep you well-fed, my dear.”

If it's alright, maybe Kai finding reader with another guy and taking her back to the cult house to teach her a lesson...in front of the rest of the cult? 👀
warnings: spanking, violence/aggression, Kai being Kai.
A/N: longish drabble done at work - I hope this is okay and what you had in mind anon! Sorry it’s not a full fic, the brain ain’t brainin’ as hard as I’d like today.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kai couldn't believe his eyes. It was you. His loyal little lamb with her doe-eyes, perky tits and willingness to do anything he asked... in the arms of some dickhead. His hands explored your waist and ass cheeks in a disgusting display of public affection, and Kai clenched his jaw hard.
That evening, when you'd gotten back to his house, you walked downstairs to find everyone sitting patiently, almost as if they were waiting for your arrival.
"Ah, there she is. The disloyal one." Kai's voice was calm and level. He was exercising a lot of personal strength, you could tell. At his words, everyone's heads turned, the attention now fully on you.
Oh, you thought. They were waiting for you. Uncomfortably, you adjusted the strap of your purse on your shoulder and swallowed hard. Kai was watching your every move, hands behind his back. You hated when he did that... It felt so authoritative. You guessed that the rest of the cult didn't know the details of what you'd done, only that you were quote "disloyal" to his cause. With one fluid motion, he gestured for you to stand at his side.
You obeyed, taking careful steps until you got to him. What was worse? The fact that you had everyone's eyes on you, practically watching you breathe, or that Kai's very presence seemed to vibrate with a fiery anger that you could literally feel as he stood next to you? You couldn't decide.
"What is the punishment for disloyalty?"
You said nothing, only bit your lip, chewing a piece of dry skin off.
"I asked you a question. Answer me."
"I wasn't... disloyal."
"That wasn't the question, was it?"
Kai took a fistful of your hair, and got close to your face, speaking directly into your ear. The rest of the cult couldn't hear his words, only saw the angry display. You winced; he was gripping the hair at the roots.
"You were. A greedy, disloyal bitch. Now you're lying?"
"Kai," you whimpered.
"Address me properly."
"Divine Ruler," you corrected without hesitation. "I can't be disloyal if I'm not with anyone..."
He gripped your hair harder, pulling your face closer to his. He was staring at the side of your face like he was trying to melt it off, and while you only had the peripheral view, the disappointment that burned in his eyes was apparent. What did that mean? You were loyal to the cult, but there was an unsaid implication that Kai expected you to be loyal to him. Your core tightened with a melange of excitement, desire and fear.
Kai straightened up. Someone cleared their throat awkwardly, unsure how to process the tension in the room. Kai inhaled a deep breath, and sat down on the chair behind him.
"Over my lap."
You put your purse down at his feet, and reluctantly, laid your body out over his thighs. With your ass on display in your short skirt, you felt like an idiot. Taking a fistful of the fabric, Kai pulled it up over the curve of your cheeks, revealing the cheeky lacy underwear you'd chosen that day. You could've sworn you heard some of the guys chuckling. Great.
It turned out, the punishment for disloyalty was humiliation. Public humiliation.
THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!
Kai's hand made repeated contact with your ass cheeks, setting the skin aflame. You turned your head, looking out into the faces that were watching. Winter looked disgusted, and your eyes met hers for a moment before they squeezed shut again, wincing with the pain of another spank.
You were thankful that he hadn't decided to use a tool like his belt, and the smacks were just with his large hand. Still, they burned like nobody's business and you couldn't help but whimper each time that your cheeks vibrated with his determinate slaps.
Suddenly, they ceased, and Kai's hands left your body. You were almost disappointed -- something that came as a shock to you. You realized that despite the pain and embarrassment, you were enjoying the closeness of the situation.
"Now, go sit down. We have some important things to talk about today."
Bastard. It would hurt so bad to sit on a hard wooden seat and he knew it. He knew it. Further, you knew he intended for your continued discomfort.
Rolling your lips inward, you reached for your purse, and navigated around to the only empty seat in the back. Just as you anticipated; the wood was cruel and unforgiving as you sat down, wiggling around to find a comfortable position. Everything hurt; your ass cheeks ached and the hand-shaped welts still felt hot.
Kai's eyes lingered on you. They lingered long enough that you decided you'd stay after the meeting was over and drill him about why he'd punished you.

Enemies with Benefits

“What do you mean you’re quitting? You can’t quit!”
Elise stood in front of Y/N’s desk as she was sitting in her office in the back of the club. After she’d told her what happened, Elise had been at a loss for words, but once Y/N had told her she was quitting, she found her voice.
“There’s no way I’m working for that bastard,” Y/N replied. “I’d rather scrape dead animals off the highway than work for him.”
“But if you quit, who’s going to be the head manager?” Elise asked, panic on her face.
“That’s for Shelby to figure out.”
“But who knows who he’d hire to replace you? It could be some inept moron who has no idea what they’re doing, or a control freak dictator who makes everyone miserable. Either scenario could ruin this place, and that’s if everyone doesn’t quit first.”
“Then he’ll get what he deserves,” Y/N replied.
“But what about all of us?” Elise asked her. “You’re just going to leave us? You’re the reason we all work here, Y/N.”
“I know, but I can’t—” Y/N began, but Elise continued
“And what about all the work you put into this place? You made this place what it is. This is your place.”
“Try telling that to the bank,” Y/N replied bitterly.
“But what about us?!” Elise asked again. “You can’t just leave us!”
Pausing, Y/N looked at her, and it broke her heart to see how upset Elise was. It was also breaking her heart to have to walk away from her club, but she didn’t see any other option. She had no idea what she’d do instead, seeing as how the Shelby’s owned every other place in town now, too, but she just couldn’t work for them, for him. No way.
“I’m sorry, Elise,” Y/N responded. “Really, this is killing me; you know how much I love you guys, and love this place. But it’s the principle of the thing. This guy bought this place out from under me and acted like he was giving me a choice. He’s taken away from me the one thing that was my own, that I worked so hard for. And all because he’s so obsessed with owning everything in sight that he couldn’t leave well enough alone and be satisfied with having his name on every other place around here. He’s an arrogant, selfish bastard.”
“I couldn’t have said it better myself,” came a voice from the door behind them.
As Elise turned around and Y/N looked past her, they found Polly Gray standing in the open doorway to Y/N’s office. A large handbag hanging from the crook of her elbow, she was looking at them with a slightly hesitant smile. As Y/N recognized her and registered that she was standing in her doorway, she defensively glared at the woman.
“Door up front was open,” Polly said by way of explanation as to how she’d gotten inside in the middle of the day. She jerked her head in the direction she’d come from and then offered another smile.
“If you’re here to defend Mr. Shelby, I’m not interested in hearing it,” Y/N said to Polly, still glaring, her guard up. “In fact, I’m not interested in hearing what you or anyone from your family has to say, so you can see yourself out by the same way you came in.”
Polly gave a single shake of her head before answering.
“I’m not here to talk about Tommy, darling. I’m here to talk about you.”
Y/N’s eyes were still narrowed.
“Why would I want to hear anything you have to say?”
“Because, just as we agreed upon when I met you the other day, I, too, think Tommy is a cocky, greedy asshole. And as much as I love that boy, I have no hesitation in knocking him down a peg or two, which is why I’m here.”
Elise slowly turned back towards Y/N, her eyes wide as she registered what Polly had said. After looking at Elise for a moment, Y/N returned her gaze to Polly.
“Why should I believe that you’re not here with some ulterior motive to help your beloved nephew make my life even worse?” she asked her.
Polly reached into her bag and pulled out a short stack of papers secured with a binder clip. She held it up as she spoke.
“Because I’ve taken from Tommy the contract he intends on having you sign when you agree to work for him. When you meet with him again, you’ll see that what I’m showing you today is exactly what he’ll present you with at that time. You’re going to look it over ahead of time and be fully prepared with your own set of requirements from him.”
Y/N shook her head. While she was surprised by the fact that Polly did, in fact, appear to be on her side, she still had no intention of working for Tommy Shelby.
“I appreciate the thought, Ms. Gray, but I have no intention of working for your nephew,” Y/N said to her. “I’m sorry to tell you that you wasted your time coming down here.”
Polly lowered her hand that held the contract and tilted her head slightly.
“Believe me, darling, I’m as pissed as you are at the moment, but before you make any final decisions, I want to make sure you really know what you’re giving up.”
“I’m not giving it up,” Y/N replied, narrowing her eyes. “It’s been taken from me.”
“And I want to help you get it back,” came Polly’s reply.
Assessing her for another moment, Y/N finally shifted her focus from Polly to Elise.
“Can you give us a few minutes, Elise?” she said.
“Yeah, sure,” Elise replied, then gave Y/N a wide-eyed look of uncertainty before she turned and walked through the doorway, passing Polly, who stepped inside after Elise had gone by and closed the door behind her.
“Are you often cleaning up your nephews’ messes, Ms. Gray?” Y/N asked her, realizing she sounded rude, but not caring, regardless of the fact that Polly was apparently here to help her.
“Please, call me Polly,” she replied. “And let’s just say that I should be getting my name embroidered on a custodian jumpsuit for the number of messes I’ve cleaned up.”
Y/N nearly smiled at her remark, and after stepping further into the room, Polly spoke again as she made herself comfortable at the metal chair in front of Y/N’s desk. Definitely not the plush office environment she was used to, Y/N thought as she recalled Tommy’s office.
“You’ve got a great place here,” Polly began as she set her bag down on the floor. “The fact that you got it to this all on your own only makes it all the more impressive. I know how successful you are here.”
“Thank you,” was all Y/N said as Polly’s eyes met hers. There was a brief moment of awkward silence before Polly spoke again.
“Listen, everything about the way Tommy went about this was, in my opinion, wrong. He should have handled it much differently, however, I want to be sure that you understand that what he did may not have actually been the worst thing.”
Y/N raised her eyebrows in disbelief.
“You tell me that you think he’s an asshole for what he did, and then you defend him for it?” Y/N shook her head. “I don’t think we’re as much on the same page as you think we are, Polly.”
“His intention wasn’t to lead you on,” Polly said. “Well, maybe it was at first, but after meeting you, he changed his mind. Rather than buying your place and giving you the boot after the fact, he decided that he wanted to keep you at all costs. That’s because he was so impressed by you. Every other place we’ve bought, he’s fired the previous owner and manager and hired someone new.”
“And I’m supposed to be flattered enough by that fact to overlook that he essentially lied to me about his intentions?”
Polly cocked her head.
“It wasn’t so much that he was lying, as that he wanted to get you to hear him out before you knew about the sale. He figured that if he waited to try to discuss his offer to you after the sale, that you’d be so upset that you wouldn’t even listen to him. He wanted to make sure you knew what he could offer you.”
Y/N shook her head again in disgust.
“The fact that he was so arrogant as to take that approach only makes me more confident that he’s an asshole,” she said.
Polly gave a sympathetic smile.
“Like I said, I don’t agree with how he went about all this, but the fact is, this place still had money owed on it. And it’s true that that was brought to the bank’s attention before he even met you. After the purchase of the last club, Tommy immediately began looking into buying this place, and when he went to the bank to do some research, all the forgotten details about the property’s outstanding balance were unintentionally revealed.”
Y/N’s wary expression softened somewhat as she listened to Polly, who continued when Y/N said nothing.
“After that, it was already too late. The bank then had every intention of collecting the balance, and Tommy assumed it wasn’t anything you could afford.”
At that, Y/N scoffed and rolled her eyes in annoyance at Tommy’s presumptuous attitude, but Polly gave her a knowing look that Y/N had to acknowledge – it was true that the balance was nothing she’d have been able to pay.
“It wouldn’t have ever been an issue if he hadn’t been so hell-bent on owning every club in this city. If he hadn’t gone snooping around, this would have stayed forgotten,” Y/N said.
Polly gave her another knowing look.
“Come on, Y/N, you and I both know that it was damn lucky that this hadn’t been discovered before now. If it hadn’t, it would only have been a matter of time before it was, and then, what? The fact that Tommy found out first instead of the bank is actually in your favor.”
Y/N snickered.
“How do you figure that?” she said to Polly.
“Because he then immediately bought it,” Polly answered. “If the bank had found out before Tommy came around, they would have simply seized the property back from you. Tommy buying the place saved you from being put out on your ass.”
The truth was, Y/N had come to this exact realization after leaving Tommy’s office several days prior. Since she wouldn’t have been able to afford to pay the balance, she knew she would have been at the mercy of whatever the bank decided to do to her. But it was the way he’d handled it and the fact that he was so greedy about owning the club in the first place that had her so upset.
“Look, I understand that this balance would have turned me out on my ass,” Y/N said as she looked at Polly. “But it’s the whole way he handled it. Rather than explaining the situation and being honest with me, he chose to tell me only what he wanted to tell me, bought it out from under me, and then sprung the news on me without any sort of warning. It’s the principle of the thing.”
Polly smiled sympathetically.
“Believe me, darling, I understand. As I said, I don’t agree with how he went about it, either, but Tommy has his own way of doing things. And as hard as I’ve tried over the years, there are some habits you just can’t break. But despite that, you can still have everything you had before.”
Y/N frowned.
“I don’t want to condone his actions by agreeing to work for him,” she said. “And I won’t have everything I had before, because the place won’t be mine.”
“Not as in having your name on the deed, no,” Polly conceded. “But is that so horrible if you still get to function as you were before?”
“Yes, because it was mine,” Y/N replied. “I owned it. I worked hard to pay for it, I made it what it is, and it belonged to me. You just don’t understand.”
At that, Polly leaned forward.
“On the contrary, love, I do understand,” she said. “You’re talking to a woman who’s a member of a family full of greedy men who make every decision without consulting anyone else first. I have hardly a thing to call my own, including a moment’s peace.”
It was Y/N’s turn to give Polly a sympathetic smile.
“What I’m trying to convince you of here is to pick your battles,” Polly continued. “You may not like the way Tommy went about this, but you still have the opportunity to run your business just as you were doing before, as well as now also seizing the other opportunity he offered you. With all that being the case, is it really worth walking away from a place and people that you love?”
As much as she hated to admit it, Y/N knew Polly was right. But there were still plenty of questions.
“How do I know that he’ll let me run the place the same as I was before?” Y/N asked her. “How can I be sure he won’t just take control and overturn every decision I make? And what about any other sneaky shit he may try and pull?”
Polly smiled.
“That’s why I brought this,” she said, lifting the contract out of her bag and setting it in front of Y/N. “You’re going to look at it beforehand so you can review the terms he’s proposing exactly, and make your own demands and counter-offers. This way, you can be sure that you’re not going to be blindsided by anything Tommy does.” Polly then paused for a moment before continuing. “Although, when it comes to you, I think it’s safe to say Tommy will give you just about anything you want.”
Y/N frowned with uncertainty.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“He likes you,” Polly replied. “And he respects you.”
Y/N scoffed.
“He has a strange way of showing it,” she said. “Someone needs to tell him that actions speak a lot louder than empty sweet talk.”
Polly grinned.
“I think you’re the perfect woman to get that point across to him.”
Y/N smiled back. She couldn’t believe she was actually considering working for them, and as she thought more about everything Polly had said to her, she was reminded of something.
“You said when you first got here that you wanted to help me get this place back,” she said. “How do you think that would be possible?”
Polly grinned again.
“I still stand by everything I’ve said so far – you can make this as positive and beneficial of a situation for yourself as you want it to be,” she said, her eyes twinkling with a bit of mischief. “However, no one is more in favor of a woman like you owning a business than me. And there’s also no one more in favor of teaching Tommy a lesson.”
Polly paused before she continued.
“If there’s one thing Tommy finds even more enticing than a business deal, it’s a bet. I think you could get your club back if you propose a little bet of your own.”
“Like what, for instance?” Y/N shook her head in loss for ideas.
Polly’s grin was nearly devilish.
“You bet Tommy that if, within the first six months of working for him, you get at least five of the other clubs turning a fifty percent increase in their current profits, then you get your club back – full ownership, no strings attached. If you’re able to pull it off, then you get what you ultimately want and Tommy has to accept that he can’t own everything. If you don’t pull it off, then you’re no worse off than you were, and you still have your job with Tommy as the owner.”
Y/N smiled momentarily at Polly’s idea, but then she frowned.
“Why would he agree to that when there’s nothing in it for him?” she asked.
Polly gave a smug look of certainty.
“Because for Tommy, the enjoyment comes from watching the bet play out, not the final outcome. Besides, regardless of if you meet the fifty percent on enough places, you’ll have no doubt done enough to at least increase profits, and that’s money in his pocket. So, he’s benefitting either way.”
As Y/N processed all that Polly said, a mischievous smile of her own began to slowly spread across her face. After a moment, she focused on Polly again.
“I’m not going to make any of this easy on him,” she said.
“Good,” Polly replied as she smiled back at her. “I was hoping you wouldn’t.”

contains: smut (minors dni), fluff, jealousfwb!sungchan, recording, hickeys, breeding kink, reader is painfully unaware of sungchan’s feelings for her
word count: 2.7k
synopsis: jung sungchan, the university football team's captain, is your friend with benefits, but feelings start to complicate things. his sudden affection towards you leaves you confused as you navigate your own emotions. could your relationship with sungchan develop?
a/n: hope you guys enjoy this and i’m sorry if this pure yap! also just to clarify when i say football i mean what americans call soccer lmfao
you didn’t know how you got to this point with jung sungchan. he was one of the hottest guys on campus, being the captain of the university football team and you were just… you. just an average student just trying to get through university. you weren’t unpopular but you weren’t popular either so you never understood how this happened. from being complete strangers in the same class to becoming project partners, then friends, and now...friends with benefits. initially, you had agreed to this arrangement because you had just had your heart broken by this guy you were seeing and you didn’t want to jump into a relationship for a while.
but you had started to form feelings for sungchan, something that you promised yourself you wouldn’t do. you didn’t want to have this discussion with him as you didn’t want to risk your friendship so you started to hook up with other people to fill the void. the other people you’d hook up with would always try to take you out on dates but you weren’t interested at all, nobody could compare to sungchan. the way he genuinely cared about you, the way he’d prioritise your pleasure over his own and the way he always paid attention to you to figure out what you liked (and didn’t like) and the way he always made an effort to take care of you after sex had you falling for him.
today was another sunday in the library, studying for your end of year exams that you were dreading. you put your music on, not expecting to be approached by anyone but you felt a tap on your shoulder. it was sungchan, holding your favourite drink. “hey, y/n,” he whispered with a warm smile, “i noticed that we haven’t been seeing each other much lately because we’ve been studying lately so i thought i might bring this for you.” admittedly, you had used the exam period as an excuse to see sungchan less as you weren’t ready to confront your feelings for him. “thank you, sungchan,” you whispered back as you took the drink, trying not to blush, “that’s really thoughtful of you.” sungchan’s smile widened at your reaction to his attempt to show you affection. “of course y/n, anything for you,” he replied softly, the way he looked at you making you weak. “by the way, how long have you been here, huh?” you laughed nervously knowing that he cared enough to ask. “a few hours now,” you admitted. “you’re coming with me for a walk right now y/n, you need to take breaks.”
you hesitantly got up, feeling equally nervous and excited to spend time with sungchan. you walked around the local park, your heart beating so fast. “you know, you look really good today y/n. well you look good everyday but i thought i’d tell you” he said, unable to take his eyes off of you. “thank you, sungchan. you’re so sweet towards me,”you replied, blushing. “sweet, hm? you’re so cute when you blush y/n, only ever seen you do it when i fill you up with my cock,” sungchan says, smirking as you both gaze at each other. you can’t help but blush even harder when he mentions what you’re like in bed. you then look away shyly and you both go silent, deciding to enjoy the walk.
sungchan walks you back to the library and before you part ways, he pulls you in for a hug which was unusual for him to do. “thanks for the walk chan, i enjoyed it a lot,” you say. “anytime, y/n. i like spending time with you. speaking of, how about you come to my football game on thursday? i know it’s exam season but you deserve to have a bit of fun too,” he suggests, his eyes hopeful. he had never asked you to attend a game before, just asked you to make sure you’re available after in case he needed you to relieve his stress. “of course, i’d love to,” you replied, smiling. “5pm at the campus grounds. i’ll see you there, bye y/n,” he says, smiling again before turning away. you continue studying, unable to stop thinking about the game in a couple of days.
it was the day before the game and you were in your room. your latest hookup, jay, had just left and you couldn’t help but feel guilty for sleeping with another guy apart from sungchan. but it was ok to, right? you needed to distract yourself from your feelings plus you didn’t want to believe that sungchan liked you unless he told you directly. you hoped that you’d know soon so that you could finally feel at ease.
game day was finally here and you were so excited. you put on the team shirt with a short skirt, wanting to catch sungchan’s eye. you also incorporated lavender purple, the team’s colour, into your hair and makeup. you did this tying a ribbon in your hair and doing a lavender eye look. you walked with some of your friends to the game, meeting with everyone else there. sungchan instantly spotted you and ran to you excitedly, abandoning the conversation he was having with his teammates. “hey y/n! wow… you look amazing and the lavender suits you well, you should come more often!” he said with the biggest smile on his face. “thank you chan and good luck! you’ve got this, i believe in you!” you replied, hugging him. and off he went, back to his last-minute training session with his teammates before kickoff.
as the game came to half-time, jay approached you, smiling at you flirtatiously. “hey y/n, didn’t know you liked football. guess we can watch together for the rest of the game, like a first date?” he said, putting his arm around you. you smiled politely, not wanting to be rude. sungchan ran over to the sidelines to talk to you once again, his expression turning sour at the sight of another man talking to you. “hey, y/n! how are you enjoying the game?” he asked in a possessive tone. jay walked away very quickly, getting the hint. “i’m enjoying it a lot, sungchan! you’re playing really well!” you responded excitedly. “i’m glad you’re enjoying it because we’re going to win!” he said with determination in his voice.
sticking to his words, the team won 7-2 and the crowd cheered happily. sungchan’s teammates lifted him up in celebration but his eyes could only look at you. once his teammates put him down, he rushed over to you and hugged you tighter than ever before. "y/n, you have no idea how much it means to me that you came to support me today," sungchan whispered into your ear, his breath warm against your skin. "couldn't imagine celebrating this victory with anyone else but you." you looked at him lovingly as you said “i’m so fucking proud of you, channie. you played amazingly!!!” “well y/n, we’ve got to celebrate right? how about we go to my place and have some drinks? i don’t feel like going out with the others, just want it to be us two,” he suggested, gazing at you warmly. as you nodded, you felt your heart beat rapidly at the thought of spending more intimate time with him. “i’d love to sungchan,” you said, your voice filled with anticipation. “just wait for me where the changing rooms are, ok? need to have a shower and get changed,” “of course, channie” you replied before he went to the changing rooms.
you waited outside for sungchan. after a few minutes, he came out wearing a black jacket over a plain black t-shirt and jeans. he looked so effortless that you fell even deeper for him in that very moment. “ready?” he asked, offering you his hand. you took it, feeling a surge of excitement through you as you walked together towards his place. he unlocked the door, taking off his jacket and leading you to the kitchen. “so, what drink would you like? i have almost anything you could think of,” he said, pointing to the bottles behind him. “whatever you’re having channie,” you replied as your eyes met, giving you butterflies. “i’m thinking wine, it’s a special occasion, right?” he suggested with a soft smile. you nodded. he poured the wine, giving you your glass and then sitting at the kitchen counter.
as the night goes on, you both get drunk and your conversations became more candid and vulnerable, both sharing your secrets, dreams and fears when all of a sudden the topic of hooking up is brought up. just as you’re about to respond, you get a call. it’s jay, the guy you hooked up with recently who desperately wanted to take things further despite you making it clear that you didn’t want the same thing. “give me the phone right now, y/n,” sungchan says, his voice low and possessive as he takes it out of your hand. he answers the phone, listening to jay attempt to convince you to meet with him again. sungchan couldn’t help but feel extremely jealous, he could feel it completely consuming him. “listen here jay, i’ve already tried to show you earlier at the game that she isn’t fucking interested but you’re clearly too dumb to understand that. so leave her alone and move on, she’s with me,” sungchan said, his frustration very clear. you’d never seen sungchan so possessive before but there was something undeniably attractive about it. he abruptly ends the call and turns to you, moving as close as possible to you as his eyes locked with yours. you could feel the tension between the two of you in the air but he breaks the silence.
“you know, y/n,” sungchan begins, his voice filled with vulnerability. “i’ve been feeling overwhelmed by my emotions lately and i can’t hide them from you anymore. i’ve tried to show you how much you mean to me but i think i need to be direct. i love you and i have for quite some time now,” he continues, trying not to get emotional. “i can’t do this arrangement anymore. i want more with you. i want us to be together as a couple. will you be my girlfriend, y/n?” he asks, his voice trembling slightly with nervousness and anticipation. you took his hand in yours and looked into his eyes lovingly and with a smile, you replied “of course, channie. i’ve been dreaming of this day for so long, you don’t even know.” sungchan’s eyes instantly lit up with joy, his heart filled with happiness. “really? you mean it?” he asked, unable to contain his excitement. "absolutely," you said, your heart overflowing with love. "i love you, channie, and i want to be with you, now and always." a wide smile spread across his face as he pulled you into a tight embrace, holding you close as if he never wants to let you go.
“by the way, i got you something,” sungchan said, reaching into his pocket. he pulled out a small velvet box and inside was a stunning necklace with a heart pendant with his initials. you gasped in awe of the necklace, it was so pretty and he was so thoughtful. “channie, i-it’s beautiful,” you said gratefully. sungchan smiled warmly, his eyes filled with adoration as he took the necklace and clasped it around your neck. “now, everyone will know that you’re mine,” he said softly. he couldn’t help getting turned on by the sight of you wearing a necklace with his initials on it. he kept thinking about how you’d look when you two would have sex, especially in missionary. god you’d look so gorgeous, he thought as his cock got harder. he got up suddenly, grabbing your hand and going to the bedroom and then pinning you up against the wall.
“i need you, y/n. badly,” sungchan whispers, his voice filled with lust. he started leaving hickies on your neck, another way to show others who you belonged to. you moaned softly as he used his lips on your body, loving the way it felt. “get on the bed for me, pretty girl,” he demanded. you obeyed him without hesitation, knowing he liked when you were obedient. as you laid down, sungchan looked at you with a balance of desire and tenderness in his eyes. you were truly all he ever wanted. he got on top of you and kissed you passionately, touching your body through your clothes making you moan lightly. sungchan helps you take off your clothes, admiring every inch of your body. “you’re so beautiful y/n, need to mark every inch of you so that everyone we see knows you’re mine,” he whispered as he kisses your body, leaving hickeys along the way on your tits and stomach. he looks down at your pussy, looking at how wet you were just for him. “this for me, hmm? so pretty, angel,” he whispers as he takes off his shirt, revealing his abs which you always found attractive. it’s not like you hadn’t seen them before but something had changed; you were now his girlfriend meaning he was yours, nobody else could have him.
“need to be inside you right now, pretty girl,” sungchan says huskily as he pulled down his pants, revealing his hard cock. you gasp as if this was your first time with sungchan even though you’d done this many times. “need you too, channie,” you whisper back, your voice sounding so needy for his cock. he teases you with the tip, making you whine desperately for more. he finally gives you what you want, giving you his whole cock deep inside your pussy as he fills you completely. “you feel so good, baby,”he says breathily, the pet name making you blush. he continues, going slow but deep so he can feel every inch of you. with each thrust, you were feeling so much pleasure as you arched your back. “hm baby, have an idea. wanna film this to send to jay?” sungchan says, his voice filled with excitement at the thought of what he’d just said. “mm, yes chan, need to show jay who i belong to,” you reply eagerly. sungchan grabs your phone and positions it so that it shows your pretty face as you take every inch of his cock. “tell jay who you belong to, pretty girl. look at the camera and tell him who loves you, who’s fucking you so good,” he whispers as he goes faster. “i belong to you, sungchan, only you,” you moaned, getting close to cumming. “that’s it baby, tell him again, be louder,” he demands. you comply, moaning louder and louder for him as he gets faster and faster, wanting to cum.
as you both get closer, sungchan’s thrusts get more urgent and his grip on you tightens, pulling you as close to him as possible. you were both speechless, unable to do anything but moan as the pleasure gets more and more overwhelming. he gets so greedy, fucking you even faster than he ever has making your tits bounce along with the pretty necklace he got for you. “gonna cum inside you, baby. gonna make you all fucking mine, understand?” “yes channie, make me all yours,” you whimper, close to tears as you cling onto him as you scratch his back, leaving your own marks on him. with a final thrust, sungchan fills you up with his cum as you cum at the same time. he moves the camera down to show his cum dripping from your pussy. “see jay, she’s all mine. look at that pretty pussy, dripping with my cum,” sungchan says, his voice possessive as he smirks at you.
sungchan stops filming, wrapping his arms around you as he holds you close. you felt so complete and cherished in his arms. his gaze softens, gently kissing you, comforting you. he gets up, grabs a cloth and cleans you up, his touch gentle and caring. once you were both settled in bed, wrapped in each other's arms, sungchan whispered sweet words of affection, his voice a soothing melody that lulled you into a state of tranquility. "you're everything to me, y/n," he murmured, his breath warm against your skin, "i love you more than words can express." you smiled softly, feeling warmth and contentment. in his embrace, you felt so safe, knowing that you were loved by the man you loved all along. as you drifted off to sleep wrapped in the warmth of sungchan's love, you felt a sense of peace unlike anything you had ever known before.

Ko-fi thank-you sentences for Octopus behind the cut; Billy adopts Conner and it actually goes pretty good! (( chrono || non-chrono ))
“I mean, unless you’d rather have gotten a tutor or something, I guess, probably Batman could’ve helped me find you a tutor,” Billy says, shrugging a little awkwardly. He used to help other foster kids with their homework a lot, though, and he taught a couple street kids he knew some bits and pieces of stuff, at least. And also–“Wisdom of Solomon, you know? It’s, um, kinda a thing. Anyway, I’m gonna help you with your powers, so it’s the same kind of thing, right? And it’s normal to read to your kids, too.”
“I don’t need to read to be a weapon,” Lynn mutters, still looking down at Tawky. “Not if I’m being deployed with a team, anyway.”
. . . Billy thinks maybe he could just go ahead and burn down whatever’s left of Cadmus. Like. Morally, and all. Ethically. Whichever.
“I’m not helping you with your powers so you can be a weapon,” he says firmly, making himself keep his voice even so Lynn won’t think he’s mad at him. Or, uh–royally fucking pissed at him, more accurately. That’s Cadmus. Like, definitely it’s Cadmus that he’s royally fucking pissed at. “I’m helping you with your powers so you don’t get hurt or accidentally hurt anybody else. Like–so you can use them however you want.”
“I’m the thing that gets used,” Lynn says as he folds one of Tawky’s ears back and forth, voice and expression both just distant enough to make Billy hate literally everything that’s made Lynn feel like that.
He is definitely gonna put in a request with the League to let him burn down whatever’s left of Cadmus. Either that, or there’s gonna be a real convenient thunderstorm concentrated right on top of it, and a whole lot of equally convenient and equally concentrated lightning strikes.
And if that fails, then there’s gonna be a twelve year-old “civilian” sneaking in with some matches and lighter fluid, and he’s just gonna commit arson the old-fashioned way.
“If anyone ever says that to you again, I’m gonna make them sorry for even thinking it,” he says as evenly as he can. Lynn’s mouth tightens. He keeps his head down.
“. . . why would you have read to me?” he asks, the question a little guarded. “That wouldn’t have taught me anything.”
“It would’ve taught you that I’d read to you,” Billy says. Lynn–frowns, like maybe he doesn’t understand what he means. Billy’s not sure he understands what he means, just . . .
His dad read to him. And his mom too.
And Uncle Eben definitely did not.
And Cadmus didn’t read to Lynn either, he’s betting. As far as he can tell, all Cadmus ever did was jam a really biased education into his head and lie to and mind-control him, in fact.
Cadmus was just really awful to Lynn in general, as far as Billy can tell.
Lynn thought they’d have kryptonite here, so . . . yeah. Cadmus was definitely awful to him.
Billy really, really wants to make sure that Lynn’s first thought is never something like that again. Or at least, that his first thought is never something like that when it’s about him.
About the person who’s taking care of him, he means. Lynn should–he shouldn’t–
Billy always felt safe with his dad. With both of his parents. He wants Lynn to feel that way too, because Lynn deserves to feel that way too. Like no matter what tries to hurt him, it’s gonna have to go through somebody else first, and somebody who’d never just stand by and let it get to him.
Billy doesn’t know if Lynn’s ever felt safe in his life, all things considered. He grew up in a pod being lied to and woke up to mind control and more lies and got attacked by, like, a giant mutated jerk of a doctor who’d been controlling and hurting him all his life already, and then he left the only place he’d ever known just because he thought it was the right thing to do, and . . .
Yeah. Billy can’t imagine “safe” is a feeling Lynn’s all that familiar with yet.
Can’t imagine he’s ever really felt it at all, at this point.
He–swallows, a little, and then makes himself smile at him again. Lynn’s still not looking at him, but Billy figures he’ll hear it in his voice, if nothing else.
“I’ll read to you anyway, if you want,” he offers as he links his hands together behind his back, his voice coming out a little awkward; a little quiet. He doesn’t mean for it to, but . . . “Even if you can do it yourself.”
Lynn doesn’t say anything. He rubs the pad of his thumb across one of Tawky’s paw pads and then squeezes it, just a little. Billy doesn’t blame him for wanting to hold somebody’s hand right now. It’s–a lot, probably. All this is probably a lot.
All this is definitely a lot, and Billy doesn’t blame Lynn for anything he’s feeling about any of it at all. When everything changes all at once like–when somebody’s whole life changes and they lose everything and everyone they had before, and . . . and . . .
It’s just a lot, he knows.
Like–yeah.
Of course it is.
“. . . sure,” Lynn says, and glances up–not at Billy, exactly, but in his direction. He’s looking at his shoulder more than anything else, Billy’s pretty sure, but that’s fine by him. He brightens instinctively, resisting the urge to float up a little in excitement.
“Cool!” he says. “Um–okay, yeah. Cool.”
Lynn ducks his head again, looking more towards the wall now. He’s still holding Tawky’s paw, though, and he didn’t, like, go run off and hide in his room or get mad or anything, so Billy thinks things are going okay, really. Even if–even if some of this is a little harder to talk too much about, maybe.
He really does want Lynn to feel safe with him, though, so he’s gonna have to be able to talk to him about the harder stuff too.
He can do that, he promises himself. Or–he’s gonna do that, anyway. He’ll figure it out, one way or the other.
Lynn deserves a dad who can do that, and Billy’s already decided he’s gonna be the kind of dad Lynn deserves, so–yeah.
He can do it.
He wonders if his parents ever felt like this with him. Felt like–like it was hard and scary and weird, but like they still needed and wanted to figure it out and do it right, whatever it took. Like it was more important to do it right than . . . than anything else.
He doesn’t know, obviously. And he’s never gonna get to ask. But . . . but he hopes he’s at least doing this right enough that they would’ve been happy about it. Been–proud of him, for taking after them. Being like them, even just a little bit.
They were both really good parents, and he just . . . they’re gone, and he’ll never see them again, and no one really remembers them the same way he does. No one loves them the same way he does. Not anymore.
So–so if he can be a good dad to Lynn like they were good parents to him, then maybe at least there’ll be a little bit more of them left in the world. A little bit more that they got to do; got to make happen. Make matter.
And maybe . . . maybe that means Lynn will love some part of them too, technically, if Lynn ever loves him.
If Billy does this right, anyway.
“Do you wanna walk to the library too?” he suggests. “It might be a little farther away than the diner, I think, but not too bad. And, um, we’ve got super-stamina and all, so yeah.”
“. . . I’ve never walked that far before,” Lynn says. Billy blinks, wondering how Lynn knows that. He didn’t say how far it was for sure, just–
Oh.
“You’d never walked as far as the diner before?” he realizes. Lynn nods stiffly. Billy’s chest sort of–hurts a little, maybe. “Did you like it, or was it too much? I know it’s kind of exposed and there’s a lot more people than you’re probably used to and all, so it’s okay if–”
“It was fine,” Lynn cuts in, and then hunches his shoulders a little. “Uh. I mean–it was fine.”
Billy’s own shoulders slump a bit in relief, and he smiles wider at him. Okay. That’s–okay, yeah.
He really likes Lynn. Like–Lynn’s really easy to like, he means. He’s glad about that. Not that he was gonna take anything back or send Lynn back if he was hard to get along with or anything, obviously, but . . . he’s still glad, yeah.
Really glad.

Someone had to go first
The first ship that arrived was pretty matter of fact about its fate. The pilot introduced himself as Eric, then told us he was part of the first sublight resupply attempt in modern history. He then gave me and the ground control team his bad news.
“So,” he said. “Without real time telemetry, we weren’t even sure which half of your orbit you’d be in. That’s half a solar system’s worth of wiggle room. Decelerating enough to survive contact with your low orbit would take me two weeks, which, you know, it looks like we don’t have. That means that in order to get the second ship in before you lose orbital control to the Kresh, I’m gonna have to make a sacrificial flyby. Ten to the negative four torr is good enough for a lot of things, but at point-seven c it’s gonna be like sandblasting a soup cracker. Good news is that all the expensive toys are in the next ship, so this really ain’t costing you more than a ship and a pilot.”
“You knew,” I said. If they put the expensive toys in the second ship, they knew that the first was likely a sacrifice. No one smart enough to handle orbital physics would miss that.
“I did,” he replied. “But someone had to go first.”
That was, of course, a lie. No one had to go first. No else had had, at least. When our connection to the FTL network was lost, we’d understood that as the end of our reinforcements. Doing resupplies via sublight was just too risky. It was a testament to Earth that it had accepted the risk and continued anyway.
“Is there anything we can do for you?” I asked. This man had come here to die for us. I wasn’t sure how much I could give, but what I had was his.
“I do have a few requests,” he said. “First up, I need as much high-orbital data as you got. The whole lot.”
I began directing tightbeam resources to him immediately. It was an easy resource to exchange - it wasn’t like there was anyone else out to talk to anymore. When we lost FTL, we found ourselves very, very alone.
“Second,” he said. “Right, I know I’m gonna sound like a princess right now, but I have been stuck in this stupid tin-can for almost two-years now, and I seriously overestimated how much I like synth music. If you have anything that’s analog - I don’t care what kind of string or drum or brass you play, but I’d kill to hear something without a beep in it.”
I jumped my own queue in the tightbeam, and added a short playlist that I ripped from the local web. Human Music, it was labeled. 3 Terabytes. I prayed there was something on it that he’d like.
“And third,” he said. “Third. The uh, next pilot is pretty mad at me. Turns out this will just be one of those things left unfinished. That’s all death really is, I guess - a lot of unfinished things. Let him know that he was right: He is a better pilot than me. But tell him that wouldn’t have made a difference here. Bad luck beats skill, and this luck was shit.”
I promised, and he went silent after that. We could see what data he was analyzing, and the short answer was all of it - everything from atmospheric density to troop positions and his own ship’s blueprints. He knew he had one shot at this, and that if the price wasn’t paid here, it would be paid by whoever came next.
--- --- --- --- ---
Ground control didn’t get a verbal warning that he’d entered atmosphere. Just a ping. A little here-I-am, whispered in the dark.
After that, we could keep track with visuals alone.
He hit the outskirts of the exoatmosphere in his first pass, burning bright enough to be seen with the naked eye. He caught the sparse particles like a kite, trying to shed enough speed to hit actual low orbit. Automatic telemetry updates gave us the grim news for the ship: Thermals were holding up decently, but the ablative was wearing out fast.
The entire descent brought us more than two hour’s reprieve. The Kresh hadn’t expected to see a resupply, but they knew what one meant: Get it now, get it fast, or deal with a stream of new troops. They could buy themselves ten days' time by shooting this one ship down now.
That was an eternity during a siege.
The first loop lowered the speed by about a twentieth of light. The pilot responded by pulling the ship in tighter, trying to preserve more ablative plating by trading off with thermal. Seven fighters were close enough to fire off heat seekers. I don’t think the Kresh had ever anticipated shooting down a craft coming in that hot - the missile's decoy avoidance countermeasure actually made it steer around the thing, chasing down loose pieces of shrapnel. Cooled fragments, still hotter than an engine should be at full blast. The simple mistakes bought it enough time to enter pre-orbit, and the fighters had to stop their pursuit. They weren’t willing to die to stop the ship.
Our man, on the other hand, was already committed to that course.
A third loop followed a fourth. Ablative coating went from 65% integrity, to 30%, to 5%. Telemetry scans were exceptionally detailed - the pilot was making the flyby count. The last message we got from him was simple:
Are you EMP shielded? he asked, not even bothering to encrypt the text stream. He didn’t have time to process more than that.
Yes, we replied. We knew what he was thinking, but it was still a shock to see it. The fusion torch that was driving his ship flared hot, burning through the nozzle and feeding directly into the craft’s deuterium supply. The reaction went super critical, and the resulting neutron pulse set off everything in the ship with a z-count higher than iron. Three continuous seconds of EM interference screamed through the comms as the hulk burned brighter than the sun.
The explosion itself wasn’t powerful enough to reach the Kresh ships still in high orbit, but it made enough broadband radiation to blind both sides LADAR. The man must have been a hell of a pilot - half the shrapnel went down and burned up as it entered the standard atmosphere, sacrificed to move the other half past lagrange. Standard evasion would’ve made the pieces easy to dodge, but with LADAR down, all the Kresh could do was sit still and cower as the wrath of a dead man riddled them full of holes. Our best ace had managed to shoot down seven ships before this before getting shot down himself. The wreckage of the freighter took down six.
--- --- --- --- ---
The second ship came in stealth. One second, we were holding attrition in high orbit, the next, something the size of a small station came ripping through the atmosphere.
It did the same trick as the former - swapping between ablative and thermal loads, coming down at a speed that the Kresh fighters didn’t even try to match. Armies could be built in years, but skills like this took decades.
Telemetry connection was established almost as an afterthought. The way the ship casually ate through ablative armoring made my eyes water, but the pilot himself seemed pretty non-plussed.
“You’re down to fifteen percent coverage. You need-
“What I need,” he said, “is to see the previous ship’s telemetry as soon as I land. And I don't need your help landing it.”
He cut off my chance to reply by flicking the channel off. We watched, and we wrang our hands, but sure enough he came in six minutes later with 4% of the ablative left.
I met him on the landing pad. Under normal circumstances, we’d have needed twenty-four hours for the craft to cool enough to even approach, but we’d had cryo ready just in case. Three tankers of nitrogen, and the loading area, at least, was cool enough to touch. Safety would have to take a backseat to speed here - we needed the supplies fast.
But those both would take a backseat to a promised conversation with the second pilot. He was out of the craft as soon as the air was cool enough to avoid scalding his lungs, picking through the workers to try and find who had the telemetry data.
I found him first. The drive went into his hands, but I needed to keep my promise with Eric before letting go.
“You’re better than the first pilot,” I said, and I wasn’t lying. If the previous flier had been a saint, this one was a god. “But you wouldn’t have been able to manage the landing either. There just wasn’t time.”
“Let me see,” he said, tugging on the drive. “Just let me see. I have to know I couldn’t do it either. I have to know that someone had to die.”
I let go of the drive and he stalked back into his ship. I didn’t follow. I figured I’d pushed things far enough.
--- --- --- --- ---
The second pilot left the ship six hours later. He looked bleary in a way that put me at ease. I’d been up the last six hours directing supplies from the ship. Everything from ground-to-orbit rails to AGI targeting systems was inside - to call it gamechanging would be an understatement. It was good work, but I was tired, and I didn’t want to have to pretend otherwise. Seeing the other man with bags under his eyes meant we could just be frank with each other.
“I couldn’t have managed it,” he said, half-ashamed, half-relieved.
“It just wasn’t possible,” I agreed.
We sat there a moment longer. I didn’t mind the break. This was time well spent.
“Did it hurt?” he asked finally.
“Ablative failed before heating,” I said, which was the technical way of saying no. “He overloaded the reactor before the ship actually broke up and did some kind of slingshot maneuver - hit the main body of the Kresh fleet with half a space station’s worth of shrapnel.”
“Good,” he said.
I knew the signs. The tremor in his cheek, the way his jaw clenched - it wasn’t professional, but I hugged him anyway. Let him have the dignity of choosing to weep instead of having it wrenched out of him.
It was a gift we’d all been given at some point in this war. At least now, there was the hope it could be over soon.

Fluff 141 fishing in Scotland.
I have a bunch of archived/ removed parts I wrote for my fic that I felt didn't fit. I'll turn some of them into oneshots. Like this one enjoy.
Summary: 141 go fishing. No content warnings, SFW, fluff/ filler content. 1.1k words.
I love making my OC have happy moments before I emotionally destroy her in the next chapter.
Enjoy <3
Give anyone from 141 a weapon and they’re right at home. A missile launch system or a bomb to defuse and it’s no problem. But trying to teach them to fish, the look on their confused faces as I try to explain good throwing techniques is almost too funny.
“Look it’s not that hard.” I say attaching the bait onto the hook. I walk down to the waters edge. I found the most beginner friendly rods I could, so it would be easier for them. Gaz and Price stand next to me.
“You don’t need to throw it too far, the loch is deep and the fish come right up.” I step aside from Gaz and look behind me. Simon is sat on one of the folded out chairs, drinking a beer. I smile at him. I throw the rod over my shoulder and let the hook travel. It lands about 50 meters from me. I place the rod down in the stand and turn to watch Gaz and Price.
“What just throw it over our shoulders then let it go?” Gaz asks. I nod enthusiastically. He takes a step back and throws it. It lands about 30 meters in and he looks at me for approval. I smile and he places it down on the stand going over to sit with Simon.
“Come on Price!” Simon shouts chuckling. “You should be good at this a few more years till you retire you’re going to need a hobby.” I hear Gaz laugh I cant help but smile. Price looks back at them.
“Okay then watch this.” He says as he expertly throws back the line and lets it fly out into the loch.
“Cheeky bugger.” I say scoffing as he pulls the line back a bit and rests the rod in the stand.
“Hey that's cheating you didn’t say you knew how to fish.” Gaz says pointing at him as he walks over to us reaching down for a beer. I laugh.
“If you catch your fish first you can still win.” I say reaching into the cooler by Simon. I take out a beer opening it and turn looking back out at the loch. It was early evening and the sun was just touching the top of the trees in the distance. I took a deep breath in feeling my lungs fill with the cool Scottish air. I jump when I feel Simon's arms wrap round my stomach and he pulls me down onto his lap. I almost spill my beer lifting the can to my mouth to avoid it spilling on my clothes.
“Did you ever bring Johnny fishing?” Gaz asked.
“All the time,” I smiled rolling my eyes thinking back to me dragging him down here come rain or shine. “He liked to make my lures.” I feel sad all of a sudden, Simon grips me tighter, I feel him kiss my neck.
“Did he ever catch anything bigger then you? I need to know what the competition is like.” Price says teasing me.
“No.” I say back. Gaz leans forward looking at me squinting.
“I think she’s lying.” He says. I push his shoulder laughing. Price moves to look at me better taking a sip of beer.
“Na she’s telling the truth.” I shake my head chuckling, taking another drink of my beer.
“What do you think Simon you’re the expert?” Gaz says leaning back in his chair laughing. Simon pulls me back and looks at my face, I look in his eyes, the sun reflecting off them making them look almost orange.
“Increased heart-rate, dilated pupils. I’d say she’s lying.” I open my mouth in disbelief, shaking my head as he lets me sit back up.
“Drinking also causes that.” I say holding up the beer to Price and Gaz defending myself. They laugh.
“How big was it?” Price asks. I sigh rolling my eyes.
“13 kilos.” I say defeated. There is no way they could catch one that big now though, its not the right season. The jingle of rod stand goes off. I look over it’s mine and Price’s rod. I look at him.
“Hey don’t let her go LT!” He says putting his beer down. I feel Simon pull me back onto his chest as I fight to get out. I hear Gaz burst into laughter as I watch Price get closer to his rod.
“Let me go Simon!” I shout. I can feel his laughing on my back I can’t help but laugh too. As soon as Price picks up his rod Simon lets me go. I rush over to mine reeling it in. I’ve definitely got something it’s heavy, it’s fighting my pull.
“Loser gets dunked in the loch!” I shout to Price.
“Get ready to get wet then Williams!” He shouts back. I laugh pulling my rod as hard as I can. I keep glancing over to Price I see the struggle on his face as he fights with his rod. Shit whatever he has must be big too. I feel my rod get easier to pull I must only have a few meters left. I hear Gaz and Ghost come behind us. I give it one last big yank and step back I feel Simon behind me he grips my arms. I bend down grabbing the fish holding it under it’s mouth as it flaps around. I look at Price he is bending down too he stands up showing me the fish. His is bigger then mine just looking at it.
“Compensating for something?” I ask.
“Very funny Williams.” He says. Gaz comes over with the scale. He takes Price’s fish first hooking the fish's mouth and letting it hang.
“8.2.. No wait 8.5.” He says. I hear Simon clapping behind me.
“Who’s side are you on?” I say as Gaz comes over to me and I hand him the fish. He hooks it on the scale I hold my breath. I cannot see the numbers. Gaz smiles.
“9 kilograms.” He says.
“Yes!” I scream jumping in the air I hug Simon he chuckles and squeezes me. I break from his arms and look at Price.
“Oh I’m so throwing you in the loch,” say taking a step towards him. I see genuine fear in his eyes for a second. He holds his hands up.
“Hey Williams I’m your boss I order you to stand down.” I laugh and rush after him. He turns and sprints back towards the chairs. I grab my stomach, laughing harder then I have in months. I feel Gaz put his hand on my back. I stand up wiping the tears from my eyes the beer making my head swim. I look over at Simon as he comes over to me and puts his arm round my waist. I lean into him wrapping my arms around him. This was nice, and now we had fish for tea.
AO3, link coming soon.

No bc fuck tim but it really really bothers me how people ignore his growth like he used to be an asshole and I’ll give tim Stans one thing: now he’s so so so stale but what I disagree with is that this staleness is bc nobody likes him like it’s in fact the exact opposite where everyone likes him so much they dont want to do anything. Even when it’s him surface level challenging Bruce it’s when everyone else is doing it too; but he’s still the backbone of the fam! Etc. and it’s so irritating bc him gaining more compassion and empathy even for people he doesn’t fw is so fun to watch and that’s why the captain boomerang thing was so out of character! (Not in a from the author way but in a tim wouldn’t do that and he and Bruce both knew it which is why it went down like it did. Same way dick killing joker was ooc; not in fanon sense but in a he would hate himself forever for this sense) and speaking of that it’s such an interesting mirror to Bruce who genuinely believes that everyone can grow vs Tim’s it doesn’t matter if they grow it’s not my decision to make like it’s the same but it’s not AND WITH CASS’ IT DOESNT MATTER IF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO GROW I WONT DO IT! like ugh. And anyways even when people acknowledge it they boil it down to “Janet and Jack taught him that the capitalist pigs that they are” like no. This is who tim was. Tim was the kind of guy who’d blame a dead kid for dying. That’s ok. Also Janet and Jack? Please reread anything involving them that’s not a fic like Jack had anger issues and they were both aloof at worst like relax.
#the Jack and Janet thing is both an understatement and an exaggeration but I don’t think anyone reads enough to care#some tim stan might get all pissy and be like ‘no look this is everytime jack yelled at him and boarding schools are abusive’ to which#and its like narratively that means nothing bc the tim you made up to justify the Drake parents you made up by blowing shit out of#proportion is also made up and if all of that was abusive there’d be smth to show for it besides ur homophobic Jack#too girlboss to care but still terrible Janet bc god forbid a woman have a personality from ur fics#anyways that’s also the reason I’m ignoring the council of spiders#well two reasons#first is that was just a moment to make tim look cool and did absolutely nothing for him or his character moving on#like at all#I’d say it fucked with his previous established dislike of killing for his own reasons#and while that COULD be interesting it’s not bc they didn’t do shit with it#and fanon doesn’t do fun shit with it either#nothing about how tim in his most manic state did shit he doesn’t want to remember shit he’d HATE other ppl for#just “’remember what I did to ur base Ra’s? mess with me again and see what I do next 😼’#like ok can you be real and genuine?#anyways I think#AND NOT IN A HATER WAY#Tim would benefit from being humbled#like genuinely I detest the world can’t move without tim running it but the idea that tim thinks that way is so good to me#and#I think next step being him realizing that’s not true would be a BIG push for his character#bc like I said tim Stans are right in the fact that he’s stale as hell rn#but that’s bc there’s nothing to say bc there’s nowhere to go! y’all want a tim action story where he shows off how badass he is reread#the Bruce quest and maybe it’ll remind you he’s not ceo lmao but anyways there’s nothing internal to say about him atp bc nobody wants to#say anything that’s not propping him up. same with Bruce! Gotham war was such a copout but it’s like ppl are saying he’s stale and it’s bc#god forbid he makes a lasting fumble. and I’m not under the illusion this is new I’m just saying it’s weird that fandoms not clocking it#anywayyys I really do like thinking about the No killing rule and how different it manifests for each perosn#like the way each distinct difference tells u so much about them#UGH ONLY SLIGHTLY RELATED BUT DUUUUUKE BEING LIKE IDGAF ABOUT GUNS LIKE UR SO REAAAL#anyways enough tim positivity for today FUCK THAT NIGGA!
