Also having completed the main story, I can safely say that Indigo Disk is the most disappointing plot-wise

The fact that after Miraidon/Koraidon and Ogrepon, mascot Legendaries with so much personality who you spend time getting to know before you catch them, Terapagos is just kinda there is really just bleh.

Briar just kind of feels pointless, she doesn't really do anything but exposit and chaperone the nearly dying adventure and it feels like there's no depth to her the way the rest of the cast has and you could have replaced her if you just made either Keiran or Carmine obsessed with Area Zero

Also felt kinda rushed through? Like I get it, post-game battle facilities tend to be rushed but I feel like other post-game stories in recent games have had some meat to them. I feel like I barely had time with any of the blueberry academy kids

Idk it kinda felt like we were rushing through to get to the post credit stuff and it's kinda a disappointing finale

Also the fact that after all that build up the mystery of Area Zero is just "there be a turtle with a cool special Tera type" feels like a cop out. What is Terapagos? Where did it come from? Why is it in Area Zero? Why did it try to kill us?

Just thought about this while thinking of some Ocs (a whole thing but I want to introduce them)

But Ares is a little different in PJO. He’s very like- modern Ares. Just- a lot more of once side of Ares and lest of another side we see in the Myths,

(Yes I know there is a lot of contradiction in the myths depending on which one, which version, the time period, etc. but I think when I bring up Mythology Ares vs. Pjo Ares people know the difference I’m pointing out)

But I’d like to propose my half-baked thoughts,

We know the Gods take on different ‘counterparts’ for Ares his Roman counterpart is Mars, etc and etc. and this is usually do to like drastic culture change that still pulls the essence of the God (I’m just word vomiting bare with me)

To preserve my nice little image of Mythology Ares and Ares caring for his kid (even though there’s that whole moment in Sea of Monsters- maybe I read it wrong but like- there’s also like a bunch of other things but PJO Ares and loving his kids doesn’t usually click in my mind first glance) but concept, what if the Ares we see through Percy’s eyes is the American counterpart Ares/ modern counterpart of Ares. An Ares that fits in with our *Hollywoods* idea of Ares,

Okay I didn’t think through this and it popped into my head and I wanted to write it down before I forgot- maybe I’ll make a post about this and if it is a noticeable trend through all of the Gods or if I’m just really being a little delusional.

Interesting that Apokolips is one of the many places in the galaxy that's supposed to be technologically advanced well beyond that of Earth and yet they are still shockingly analogue based.

Unless it's a Father Box or coming from Desaad's laboratory the chances are strong that their tech does not appear to be any more advanced than ours ranging from the 1830s through the 1970s.

It makes sense to keep the technology either inaccessible or heavily regulated because Darkseid's civilization is a full militaristic fascism. Individual comfort or improvements to society are not the main goal within his rule nor is it something he strives to attain unless it benefits him and his ideals directly.

There also is a sort of class system that is based entirely on rank within Darkseid's forces and the higher the rank it appears the more access to tech the individual has.

And yet even so, Darkseid still gets his reports in a paper folder even though they have literal teleporters.

Even Star Trek TOS had data pads so it's not as if alternative forms of obtaining and passing around information was not known of when this world was created.

Honestly I really like this for Apokolips because it gives it that grungy space hell pit vibe it's supposed to have. You get a job there and you're punching on a literal physical punch card like it's the damn 80s - and then aren't even paid.

There tends to be a lot of lesbians who fan over men in media (whether real or not) but the second someone mentions the words "bi lesbian" every one of those lesbians freaks out about bi lesbians "convincing men it's okay to harass lesbians" or "convincing men that all lesbians want to be involved with men."

I saw a lot of hypocrisy on twitter a year back with K-pop boy band stans and I kinda notice it in fandoms as well.

This isn't to say that any lesbian is less than another or that liking a character who is a man is wrong or makes anyone less of a lesbian. It's just an observation from my experiences (mostly online, but some offline). And I don't think the hypocrisy is helpful, right, or makes any sense (and that's not even getting into mspec lesbians who don't even get involved with men for any reason).

You know not to have way too many thoughts before 8am but the Persona 3 Reload going out of it's way to add an animated oggling the girls cutscene made me realize again that Persona 5 is so weird about Ann's sexuality

Like putting these cutscenes side by side (and ignoring the greater context of Kamoshida's palace) the intended reading is probably that Ann is more confident in her body so she makes fun of Ryuji, meanwhile Fuuka is ~shy~ so she hides behind Yukari and skips the beach the next morning

But it's also fascinating that the way Ann's demonstrated as being confident in her body is that... she's ok with being oggled? Like you can see this in the p3 reload cutscene, Mitsuru's not bothered because she's confident. Confident women have no problem with getting oggled by their friends/dormmates, obviously

But also it says something that if Ann's supposed to be confident in her body but also is only allowed to do so in a passive way? Like she can be oggled at the beach but heaven forbid she be confident in her leather catsuit created by her soul. She's got all the trappings of a femme fatale but it's not like she's got a fan club of guys she's manipulating into giving her info or actively flirting with marks to get information, that'd imply she's a slut

Ann's entire character is a horrible case of have your cake and eat it too, like the devs wanted a sexy character but it can't be because SHE wants to be sexy! She's a Good Nice Girl, so she's obviously bothered by getting sexualized except when she isn't!

(I know there's an argument of her being ok with her friends but not strangers but if that's the case why wear a bikini on a public beach and why have her vocally bothered by her suit when only her friends see her? And weird how the game never wants to actually explore this facet of her character in depth)

Ann, being a teenage girl, never thinks about sex ever. Obviously. And if she did that would be Bad! We certainly can't imply she has any thoughts outside of being into the player.
