okay i finally realized why abed is so special to me as an autistic character. i’m a huge fan of criminal minds, and spencer reid is autistic coded, but the autistic traits he displayed in the earlier seasons are written out as the seasons go on, and it’s never mentioned in canon that he is autistic. 

abed, however, never loses his autisitic traits. in fact, if anything, they become more apparent as the seasons go on (perhaps because he’s unmasking because he feels more comfortable with the group). it’s even mentioned several times in canon, such as him saying he’s on the spectrum, and that one scene where the guy he met was talking about how neurotypicals would never understand them. 

furthermore, unlike in other 2000s shows where autistic traits are the butt of a joke, his traits are treated relatively seriously. when he has his “meltdowns” (the whining noises he makes) when he is upset, or when he shuts down, or when he cannot read social cues, it isn’t a joke and no one makes fun of him for it or gets annoyed and bullies his mask back on. his meltdowns and shutdowns are treated seriously, and everyone is forgiving and accomodating of his inability to read social cues or commuicate like neurotypical people. his autistic traits are accurate, not exaggerated, not stereotypical, and not treated as a punchline. 

also, he does not only have the autistic traits that would make it “obvious” that his character is supposed to fit that trope. he displays autistic traits that are less commonly known, and traits that are inconvient to the plot, and traits that have no purpose to the story. he’s not autistic for the punchline or for the trope or for the sitcom. he’s autistic because he’s autistic. that’s it.

Sure have! #I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play. #I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks. #Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere. #Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios. #The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*. #This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those. #Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human. #Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her. #She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist. #The damsel was the dragon all along! #...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why
