Tranquil SAGAU - Part 6
-> Part 1
-> Part 5
With Dvalin gone, you were left basically homeless. Not that it was much of an issue, not really. The forests had been very kind to you -- you could easily live the life of a hermit if you so wished, without having to worry about food, water, shelter or animal attacks.
But it would also be horribly lonely. No compassionate silence, no background noise and buzz of other people scurrying around and going about their day without minding you, no one to speak to if you ever felt the need to.
You liked being alone, but you were still human and humans were social animals.
Soooooo, you promptly asked Crepus about working in his Winery in exchange for accommodations, because 'one that asks, does not stray'... or something like that anyways. Your sister always made her life that much harder because she outright refused to ask for help even when hopelessly lost or overwhelmed, so there must be something to the saying at least.
"You don't have to work to earn your keep, (Name). I'd be more than happy to house you as my guest for however long you want!" is what Crepus 'Sunshine Personified' Ragnvindr responded with.
Crepus used Puppy Eyes, it was super effective!
You laid defeated, a puddle of cuteness overload once again wishing for sunglasses to protect yourself from the blinding smiles and imaginary wagging tails.
Crepus was horrible for your heart.
Still, you would go insane if left with nothing to do for days at a time, so you went to turn the Ragnvindr library upside down with Crepus' blessing, a bunch of notebooks, a bunch of pens and a delusion that you'd do any actual studying in there.
This was Teyvat, but this wasn't Genshin Impact -- a library wouldn't have interesting lore, it'd have dry history and even drier geography, accompanied by boring economics and even more boring politics (which was a damn shame too, politics were so interesting when written right).
You never quite had a head for those, prefering subjects with more practical applications that could be practiced instead of having to be beaten into your thick skull until you memorized it just long enough to write the exam.
Though for some ungodly reason you still remembered that onions were actually leaves. It was one of the very few things you remembered from school, actually.
Probably the trauma speaking.
Still, you did find some interesting books - a diary speaking of the Decarabian rule, for example.
Today, I don my very own Windblume.
I can only hope Lord Decarabian never learns of its' significance.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
The winds are particularly harsh today.
I am afraid, but I smile and play my lyre as if nothing were happening at all, like I always do.
Sometimes, I forget if what I do is to reasure the people or to delude myself that everything is as it should be...
Then again, does it matter when the result remains the same?
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
The people are growing restless.
Their yearning for freedom gave birth to a small wind spirit that seems fond of my playing. It is an adorable being, even if it has yet to communicate with us.
It remind me of a newborn puppy.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
The people are planning a rebellion.
I want to help, but how can I? I am no soldier, my strength lays with the pen and the lyre, not with the sword.
Ragnvindr told me there was no need for more warriors, that I was doing enough by keeping the morale up with my performances... I am hesistant to believe him.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
The little spirit has spoken for the first time today.
It said that it knew the song I was playing, despite it being a new piece I was in the midst of creating, and sang along to lyrics I had yet to write.
It was strange, but it made me happy nonetheless.
Perhaps I was strange too, for feeling that way.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
You had a suspicion on who the author of the diary was by that point. Maybe Crepus would be open to giving this diary to Venti, instead of it gathering dust on the shelf?
Idly, you wondered how it had survived so long, but figured Ragnvindr and his descendants took good care of it.
I met Ragnvindr today.
Something compelled me to share my worries with him, even though I knew he had enough weight on his shoulders and I ought not to add more.
"If you cannot trust in yourself, then trust in me and my trust in you instead" he told me.
It helped.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
Meetings regarding the rebellion are more and more frequent. Ragnvindr, alongside a man named Amos, have convinced the Gunnhildr clan to participate against all odds.
I can understand their hesitance. Should we fail to kill Lord Decarabian, their legacy would be no more.
I admire their bravery.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
The wind has long since realized change is imminent, even when Lord Decarabian himself has not - the little spirit said so.
King of Gales indeed, even the wind has rebelled against him.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
Ragnvindr speaks of a bad premonition.
In truth, my heart is uneasy as well, but how can I share those feelings with anyone but myself? It is not the time to bother others with my issues -- it is time to reassure everyone, to rouse their spirit and not to let fear take root even as they stand against a God. It is my duty as a bard and as a fellow rebel.
The Windblume feels particularly heavy as I write this.
I fear I will not live to see tomorrow's sunset, but I fear for my dearest friends and for Mondstadt even more.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
My little spirit friend is still without a name.
I know it does not bother them, they are the wind itself after all, but I would still like to give them a name others can remember them by.
A name that they can remember me by once I pass on, selfish as it is to bind an immortal to a memory.
But I am selfish, even if Ragnvindr may see me as a paragon of virtue. I am a human and to be human is to be flawed. I am not ashamed of it, even if I often feel guilty for it.
Perhaps it will be the very last thing I achieve in this life of mine.
It is hard to name them.
I've thought of many names up until now.
Caelus. Liberius. Aella. Calliope. Achill. Carmine. Hilarius. Hanne. Zephyrinus. Dieter. Sascha. Scilla. Paulus. Notus. Veronica. Agna. Vergil.
Those are just a few of the ones I discarded.
None fit.
I can only hope the right name reveals itself when it is time.
. . • ☆ . ° . • ° : . * ₊ ° . ☆
That was the last entry.
You closed the diary and carefully put it aside.
☆(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ* ✨ Author Note✨
It was not supposed to be mostly nameless bard POV via old diary.
It really wasn't.
Mans literally kidnapped the chapter entirely against my will while I was half asleep yesterday and attempting to write at nearly midnight and I was powerless to stop it, on god.
But hey, at least we got potential Venti bonding set up for the future?
I was planning for more fluff, but I also have no outline for this, so my chapters have a chance of getting kidnapped at any time.
✨BY THE WAY!!!!✨
The charm of spontaneous writing, I guess?
If you have something you want to happen - for example we're in the library right now, so maybe you want a book about a specific tidbit to appear - do let me know, maybe I'll write it in!
I had 2 tests and 1 retake yesterday and holy shit i got through all of them and tomorrow is last day of uni then it's ✨HOLIDAYS✨

Wriothesley
Wriothesley found himself at a loss for words one dreary afternoon as he sat in his study, surrounded by stacks of parchment and ink-stained quills. Lost in thought, he was startled by the soft sound of your footsteps approaching.
"Wrio, darling, are you alright?" you asked, your voice filled with concern as you gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
The man sighed, his gaze meeting yours with a hint of vulnerability. "I fear I won't finish signing all these documents today, my dear. Try as I might, I cannot seem to finish this task that our beloved Neuvilette bestowed upon me."
Your eyes softened with understanding as you took a seat on his comfortable lap, your presence a comforting balm to his troubled soul. "Perhaps you simply need a gentle nudge in the right direction," you suggested with a tender smile. "If I were in your shoes, I'd suggest beginning with the lengthiest documents you have to sift through."
And so, with your encouragement, Wriothesely found himself immersed in a flurry of his stint, his quill dancing across the parchment. As the signatures flowed effortlessly from his pen, Wriothesley realized that his greatest muse that always helped him stayed focused had been by his side all along. As you settled into the comfortable embrace of his lap, his spare hand tenderly tracing the curve of your waist, he found himself consumed by thoughts of his deep affection for you. It wasn't merely your physical beauty that captivated him, but also the profound wisdom that emanated from your mind, weaving an irresistible charm that bound him to you completely.
Tumblr media
Itto
Arataki found himself in an unexpected predicament one sunny afternoon. Amidst the chaos of his usual training routine, he stumbled upon a delicate sakura tree in full bloom. Entranced by its beauty, he couldn't help but admire it, his rough hands reaching out to caress the soft petals.
"Hey, Itto! What are you doing over there?" you called out, a spirited warrior with a heart of gold.
Itto turned, a bashful grin spreading across his rugged features. "Ah, just admiring this sakura tree. Reminds me of you, y'know? Beautiful and strong."
Your eyes sparkled with amusement as you approached, wrapping your arms around his broad frame. "You big softie," you teased, planting a kiss on his cheek. "Come on, let's enjoy the blossoms together."
And so, amidst the fluttering petals and gentle breeze, Itto and you spent the afternoon basking in each other's company, your laughter echoing through the tranquil grove.
Tumblr media
Neuvilette
The Iudex, the suave and sophisticated man, found himself in a rather peculiar situation one evening as he strolled through the lush gardens of his estate. As he rounded a corner, he nearly collided with you, his girlfriend, a radiant beauty with a mischievous twinkle in your eyes.
"Ah, there you are, my dear," Neuvilette said with a charming smile. "I've been looking for you."
You giggled, a playful glint in your gaze. "I was hoping to steal a moment alone with you, away from the prying eyes of society."
Neuvilette's heart skipped a beat as he took your delicate hand in his own. "My dear, you need only ask, and I would gladly whisk you away to the ends of the earth."
With a soft laugh, you leaned in close, your lips brushing against his ear. "Then how about we start with a romantic stroll under the moonlit sky?"
And so, hand in hand, Neuvilette and you wandered through the gardens, your laughter mingling with the gentle rustle of leaves as you savored the magic of the night.

You were born with a single task in this world, to watch over everyone. Be it the animals or lower creatures, the humans, adepti or spirits of Teyvat, even the gods- you watched over them, unwavering and with your trusted weapon in your hand, watching over the whole Teyvat for decades, centuries, millennia. Sometimes, you went into the Halls of the Teyvat Gods to warn them, but sometimes you even descended from your trusted sentry to Teyvat. Because you saw and heard everything. And what you witnessed concerned you, because the Archons of Teyvat, the seven pillars of the seven nations, were about to crumble and no longer be able to carry the weight of their responsibilities.
Tumblr media
THE SHOGUN - RAIDEN EI
Your all-knowing eyes caught the struggles of the Raiden Shogun, newly made Archon of Inazuma. Not only did she struggle because of the sudden responsibility for a whole nation, but also because of the loss of her sister. It was simply too much.
Your eyes followed her warpath to the other gods, reclaiming peace for Inazuma and her people. But her heart remained cold and unfeeling, her desire for eternity being born of the losses she had suffered.
The Raiden Shogun was a cold god, unflinchingly slaughtering any enemy of her nation, yet she cared for her people, because they were the people of her sister. But as day and night came, years passed, her eyes lost any compassion for the Inazuman people and she began to distance herself.
That's when you descended from the heavens, leaving your place in Celestia to visit Teyvat and the Electro Archon.
Unlike the Gods of Celestia, you didn't shy away from touching the lands of Teyvat with your own feet and hands, and unlike them, you never concealed your identity.
You descended from the heavens with bright, white wings and glowing, all-seeing eyes and called upon the lost soul you saw and heard in pain, to save her from her own doom.
"Hear me, Raiden Shogun, for Heimdall would like to speak with the Archon of Inazuma." Soft-spoken you were, and yet the simple people couldn't help but shudder when they heard your voice, ringing through the lands of thunder.
"I hear you, Heimdall, and welcome you to my nation and home, oh all-knowing Guardian of Teyvat." And she did. Because Raiden Ei was a warrior and protector at heart, she would never dare to oppose the greatest of all.
And when your armored feet finally touched the ground, a new legend was born and told until today.
---
You were welcomed by the Shogunate, in the lavish home of the Raiden Shogun herself. But before you could dismiss the mortals, Ei sent them away, stating that the matters of gods don't concern mortals, no matter how much responsibility they had in the Shogunate.
Ei herself poured you tea, a simple brew made in ancient methods unknown to many. And yet, she served your favorite tea to you, as if trying to soften the blow of your dire messages you were about to deliver.
How could she not fear your future words? Parting from your lips, the words of Celestia, the ones who granted her the power and seat of the Electro Archon. Because every time you, the goddess and guardian, Heimdall, descended from Celestia, you brought dire news to the gods and people of Teyvat.
Yet you smiled softly, your wings lowered and splayed out, your feathers shining in the soft candle light. Your golden, glowing eyes shone with peacefulness while you sipped your favorite tea.
"Do not worry, Ei, "you addressed her informally, noting how she immediately sat up higher.
"There is no war, nor any other threat. For once, your soul shall know some peace." Taking a final sip of your tea, your eyes caught Ei's and you smiled reassuring at her.
"But I am here to carry a word of warning nonetheless, young Archon."
So you spoke. Your words spoke advice and warnings at the same time. And Ei listened, trying to follow your words and to understand.
---
You didn't leave immediately, fearing that Ei wouldn't listen and slowly ruin her own nation. She was young in her position as an Archon, yet no one dared to question her actions, thinking there was never a new Archon to replace the old one.
Ei struggled and you stood by her side, advising her in simple and complicated matters. A guiding hand, with wise words and always a soft and knowing smile on your lips.
You stood by her side when she finally left her foolish dreams of achieving eternity with her mortal nation, embracing their mortality instead and ruling with the Shogunate. Inazuma was at peace, living in harmony, and they stood strong when enemies surfaced, trying to disrupt their lives.
You stood by her side, as a higher goddess, as an advisor, as a friend, and as a lover. You took care of her, and in return, she took care of her nation.
---
Ei watched how the people, her people, built her a statue, a kneeling god with wings. A union of you and her, showing the alliance between Heimdall, the Watcher of Teyvat, and Raiden Shogun, the Electro Archon.
She didn't like it, yet she didn't utter a single word of complaint. Instead, she thanked the sculptors with a rare smile and let Inazuma celebrate her.
"You have changed everything," whispered Ei while she watched the fireworks light up the sky in all colors and shapes. "You have changed so much..."
"I have," you said, standing beside her, tall and proud, with your wings stretched out and your trusted weapon resting in your hands. You kept watch, even when you weren't on duty at your guard post.
"Are you happy?" you asked and finally turned towards her. Your golden eyes took her in, her peaceful face and her whole presence finally... calm.
"I am," she admitted. "Inazuma is united, my enemies are slain, my people are happy, and I am too. "She looked up, her voice almost tearful when she continued. "I have you and my son, my inner peace... I am happy."
"I am glad. Because I too am happy, here with you."
Tumblr media
VENTI, THE BARD - BARBATOS
For a long time, you watched how Barbatos slept and no one woke him up. While Mondstadt never returned to oppressing the monarchy after the God of Freedom assisted Vanessa in ushering in a new era for the nation, there was a new threat.
The people of Mondstadt were free, or so they thought. But the Fatui started to pull strings, to control politics, the economy, and simple trade. It was slow and long-term progress, over several decades, which is why people never truly noticed it.
But you did, because you watched the Fatui and the people of Mondstadt. The Tsaritsa wanted war, and she was preparing. Yet you didn't think of warning the Gods of Celestia. They would only destroy Teyvat the moment you told them. There was no war yet, so you saw no necessity to inform them.
Yet the people of Mondstadt were suffering, slowly decaying into poverty. Children and young adults went missing, and the Knights of Favonius lost their impressive numbers to the increasing activity of the abyss.
Barbatos may have thought himself weak, but he was one of the original Archons remaining. His freedom was his strength, but the freedom of his people made him even stronger. This was why he didn't wake up. With freedom slowly being oppressed and killed, Barbatos continued to slumber.
Mondstadt would die a slow death, poisoned but unknowingly so. You descended from your usual guard post, and went to wake up a fellow winged god.
---
Barbatos' slumber was deep and without any dreams. He was curled into himself, his wings hiding his godly form, and soft winds and spirits whispered around him, trying to wake him up.
But they made place for you when you arrived, your wings spread out and glowing eyes staring down at the sleeping god.
"Wake, Barbatos. It is time to wake up again." And the wings of the Anemo Archon uncurled, revealing a sleepy, young-looking god. He blinked slowly, and his eyes widened, when he saw you, in full armor, staring at him with unblinking eyes.
"Heimdall," he whispered. "How long have I slept?"
"Too long, dear Archon. It is time for the God of Freedom to do his work again." Barbatos only blinked, not fully understanding. So you took him to Mondstadt, flew with him over the city, and showed him what you had seen from Celestia.
"Mondstadt is dying."
---
At first, Barbatos didn't want to do anything, believing in his people and their own might. But you could only shake your head. Mondstadt needed to be free, especially now, when their strongest were away.
The Fatui practically lived in the city of Freedom ever since the evil dragon was slain. The city, the people, they were no longer free, relying on the Fatui, who slowly took everything the nation had to give.
"It is time, God of Freedom, to prove that Celestia has chosen right. Your people are no longer free. Free them." And still the Anemo Archon was hesitating, thinking he would go against his principles if he interfered with the affairs of his mortal folk.
So you spoke again, tweaking the truth and concealing your words in half-lies. You saw and heard everything, gods and mortals alike. And Mondstadt would burn if it wasn't free.
"Do it, or Celestia will have their own way." It was a warning, yet Barbatos didn't know that Celestia wouldn't do anything if you didn't report anything of significant importance to them. They didn't mind a suffering nation as long as they didn't oppose the highest Gods. Yet if you brought word about Barbatos' failing his duties, they would probably remove him as the Anemo Archon. And this only because they trusted your words, for you have never been wrong.
And so Barbatos appeared again, his words carrying a hopeful tune for the people of Mondstadt.
---
"You forced my hand," said Barbatos in his mortal form, a simple bard of Mondstadt. You merely smiled at him, you too, hiding your divine presence with your wings hidden away. Just like Barbatos did it, you carried a fake vision as well, but instead of an anemo vision, a dendro vision graced your presence.
"I have." You didn't deny his accusation, but the work Barbatos has done in a short time made it worthwhile. "I have forced your hand and you are thankful for it. This is why you are here, are you not?"
He just grinned sheepishly and nodded.
"I am. But I can't help to wonder why Heimdall herself would be the one to wake me." You just hummed and sipped on your juice.
"When I carry this form, please call me Y/N. And I have descended from Celestia, because no one else would have done it. If they had, it would have been too late, for Mondstadt and for you."
"I see," he just said. His face carried a careless smile, yet his eyes were cold. He had seen much terror and sorrow the past few days, something he hadn't been prepared for.
"Please call me Venti."
And so you did. You called him Venti many times, always visiting him and Mondstadt every so often. You became Y/N, a lone wanderer of Teyvat, somehow knowing Venti the Bard. The people of Mondstadt began to trust you not only because you had a soothing presence, but also because you reminded them of Heimdall, the new goddess who was always accompanying their own god these days.
Tales were told of the all-knowing watcher of Teyvat and the lover of the God of Freedom.
Because you both believed in every being's right to be free. Free and without an oppressing god ruling them.
Tumblr media
REX LAPIS - ZHONGLI
You have been watching the oldest Archon for a while now. He always ruled his nation with wisdom and grace. Yet slowly, he decreased his presence, leaving Liyue in mortal hands.
It was no reason for you to inverne, but you watched him more, keeping your ears open, because your gut feeling warned you about Rex Lapis. He would do something very stupid in the near future.
And he did. He almost did it.
You understood his reasons; his wish to retire, having grown tired of his responsibilities. The dragon became old and tired, wishing for his immortal life to end.
But it was his responsibility as a god, as an archon. He had his duties, just like you did. Teyvat would burn if you'd just quit, so why should he, one of the oldest and most powerful, throw everything away? You wouldn't have descended from Celestia if he did it in silence and in a peaceful way, but he had to make a contract with the Tsaritsa, something you couldn't allow.
Giving his gnosis away to the one goddess who planned war with Celestia? You couldn't allow that, not when you wanted to save Teyvat from burning to the ground.
This is why you stopped him from meeting the Tsaritsa and warned him of his actions, deciding to wake the dragon so Liyue would be protected again.
---
At first, Rex Lapis wanted to dismiss you, but couldn't. Despite being one of Teyvat's oldest gods, you were one of Celestia's oldest and held more power than he did. Not literal power, no, but your words carried much more of it than his. You could summon the wrath of Celestia with one mere sentence, and he didn't want to risk it.
But still, you could see how he didn't want to listen to you. So you opened his eyes, telling him the truth about the Tsaritsa. Her plans for a godly war, a war that would end every war and the bloodbath that every war leaves behind.
Rex Lapis was still not interested, but you didn't just stop with the Tsaritsa herself. You told him all about the Fatui, their operations, them spilling the blood of innocents and hunting down everything the Cryo Archon ordered. The Tsaritsa was a young goddess, but an ambitious one. And she would bring pain and suffering to Teyvat if no one stopped her.
"Why are you telling me all of this? Why me? Why not Celestia?", he couldn't help but ask, and you only shook your head.
"They would only hear the word war and immediately declare it to everyone of you. The gods of Celestia are prideful and will not bear any insult or threat." You sighed and looked into the amber eyes of the Geo Archon.
"You are one of the oldest gods Tevat has to offer. Your burden is heavy, but you must remain strong. Liyue must remain strong. If it weakens, it will only strengthen those who wish to court chaos."
"I understand."
And he finally listened to your words, keeping his gnosis closer to his heart and awakening the dragon in him once again. He has suppressed his true identity for far too long. The Prime Adepti, the Dragon of Liyue, Geo Archon and God of Contracts, Morax and Rex Lapis. Zhongli was hidden away, behind layers of scales, adepti blood and immortality.
---
"How should I explain my absence? I have only appeared in the yearly Rite of Descension..." Rex Lapis had asked for your advice several times, always when you visited him. There wasn't much time between your visits to Teyvat, and yet he heavily relied on you, fearing that Liyue would hate his sudden presence again.
You only smiled with amusement at him and stepped nearer.
"Dear, tell them the truth. Tell the children of Liyue of your love, a goddess of Celestia. They will celebrate your return and the joyous news." It was the truth. So why should he lie and try to conceal the obvious truth?
"Tell them the truth," you whispered. "For I did too. Unlike Celestia, Liyue will celebrate our union, and we will bless them with our love. I will watch over them and you shall protect them."
And so you did. A goddess of Celestia and the Geo Archon protect their nation and Teyvat, preventing a war unknown to most and loving each other until the end of their immortal lives.

Genshin Impact Thoughts/Theories No One Asked For, Part 2 (Spoilers)
The Genshin brainrot is particularly stubborn this time around, even with last night's post. So, here is even more inane rambling, courtesy of my garbage brain:
I don't think Kaeya expected Diluc to fly off the fucking rails like he did when he told him the truth about his origins—in fact, I think Kaeya trusted in their relationship so emphatically, he never imagined a single scenario where Diluc would have lost his temper to such an extent, that he would raise arms against him

Throughout Mondstadt's history, there have been numerous people of interest who have struggled for freedom and liberation. Among them: Venessa, the Falcon of the West, and the Red-Haired Warrior mentioned in the tale about Decarabian's fall. I theorize that Diluc and the rest of the Ragnvindr family are descendants of either Venessa or the Red-Haired Warrior

I like to believe that Old Hu and Zhongli were once close friends. And, at some point, Old Hu asked Zhongli to watch over Hu Tao once he passed, and that's one of the many reasons why he assumed the role as consultant of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor
Despite his voiceline about her and their apparent differences, I like to believe Zhongli and Hu Tao enjoy each other's company—enough so, they still choose to spend time with each other outside of Funeral Parlor-related business
Hu Tao totally knows Zhongli's true identity

I care more about Paimon than the Abyss Twin. So, if the "Paimon is the Unknown God" theory comes true, just know—I'm throwing myself into traffic. Controversial, I know

Speaking of the "Paimon is the Unknown God" theory, I'd like to express a take on it that I personally haven't seen across the internet. It did, however, come to my attention via my best friend. She proposed that Paimon is a fragment of the Unknown God. As in, Paimon is a small percentage of the Unknown God's power and/or personality. Which, to some extent, might explain the similarities in their designs. In particular, the star-shaped hairclip Paimon wears—which resembles the star-shaped portals seen in the opening cutscene of the game

Since 4.0 dropped, I often find myself wondering: what was Focalors/Furina before she became the Hydro Archon?
After all, the other Archons we have met so far have all had some kind of association with their respective element before they ascended.
Barbatos was a wind spirit
Morax was described as the "Lord of Geo" long before he became the Geo Archon
Baal and Beelzebul are described as "personifications of lightning"
Buer was born from Irminsul
So, it stands to reason that Focalors was also something non-human before she was initiated. But, what? Right now, we know nothing. In fact, at this point in time, we know more about Neuvilette than Focalors. As has been the theme throughout Fontaine, we have more questions than answers.
With that being said, I have two (inane) theories about what Focalors was prior to her ascension:
Firstly, I think it's possible that Focalors was born from the Primordial Sea. As in, she is a humanoid manifestation of the Sea itself. Possibly even created by Egeria, the previous Hydro Archon, in an attempt to create a being capable of preventing the Fontaine Prophecy.
Secondly, and here's where I really lose it, it might be possible that Focalors is somehow connected to the previous Hydro Dragon Sovereign. In particulsr, a humanoid manifestation of it's tears. I mean, I have no solid or even debatable evidence of this—except for Neuvillette. Maybe. In his Story Quest, we learn that he and the Melusines arrived in Fontaine sometime after the Cataclysm (and Egeria's death). This means he has served as Chief Justice under Focalors and Focalors alone. To me, the timing is interesting. What could have possibly compelled him to serve under an Archon? Let alone an Archon with some distinct, err, character flaws. Especially, since, it's implied that Neuvillette wishes to hold both the Archons and Celestia accountable for overthrowing the Dragon Sovereigns. Maybe the reason he puts up with her antics is because she's the only connection he has to his predecessor
