Detective Yuu - Junior Detective League

(Name taken from Detective Boys’ name in the English dub of Meitantei Conan/Case Closed. Oh, keep in mind that Grim doesn’t exist in this AU.)

“Wow, you’re very brave, sir!”

“Relax, it’s not an earthquake, guys. They’ve begun destroying the building.”

(Replace Grim with Yuu here :))

The Junior Detective League is an amateur detective group consisting of four Night Raven College high school students; Ace Trappola, Deuce Spade, Jack Howl, and Sebek Zigvolt. They later added two “special” members Kan’no Yuu and Epel Felmier.

All of its members are aware of Yuu and Epel’s real identities and circumstances, thus they tend to treat them like teenagers themselves. The Junior Detective League serves as an invaluable ally to Yuu and Epel in their fight against the Octavinelle Mafia despite how dangerous they are.

The beginnings

The Junior Detective League were informally founded when Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade decided to investigate a mansion which was once a murder site and had been abandoned. Yuu, Jack Howl and Sebek Zigvolt were drafted into accompanying the two, and the five entered the house.

Yuu found out that the house was still inhabited by the mother and son of the murder victim; the son had killed his father in a fit of rage over his abusive behavior, and his mother had subsequently locked her own son in a dungeon beneath the house to wait until the deed's time-bar had passed.

Some time later, their new friend (and former Octavinelle Mafia member) Epel Felmier was drafted into the group and replaced Jack as the second-in-command. Scientist and inventor Professor Divus Crewel provides the group with special gadgets to aid them in their adventures.

Their role

They act mostly as additional pairs of eyes who provide Yuu with trivial-seeming but important clues, and display intermediate investigative brilliance or determination of their own.

However, the other members, particularly Ace, Epel and Jack, have demonstrated in some cases, especially where Yuu is not present or out of commission, that the Junior Detective League have the potential of becoming skilled investigators in their own right.

Thea: the bakery I work for was catering a gala at his home for his scholar friends. I spent the night after it had gotten too late and long story short we married had a child and moved to France

Garnet: I met him in WCW after working in World of Sport! We were best friends for years until we realized we were in love with each other and got married!

hello pretty angels, it’s been since 2017 that we’ve had a stand alone arranged marriage request ^.^ here are the fics I know of, I hope you enjoy!

Fated Mistake - kyungsoo is a businessman, arranged to be married to another businessman, chanyeol. jongin and baekhyun are sons of gang leaders that are also arranged to be married. An accidental mix up happens where baekhyun and kyungsoo switch weddings, making kaisoo and chanbaek marry each other. one of my fav fics atm :D

Hungry Heart - Jongin and Kyungsoo have known each other for years. Jongin’s father being leader of a mafia and kyungsoo’s father being his advisor. When they were teenagers their family promised them into an arranged marriage after a catastrophic event.

City Boy, Take Me Home - abo. the chief’s son of kyungsoo’s village put them into massive debt, meaning they might lose their land. Jongin offers to pay off the debt if kyungsoo will marry him.

Ursae Minoris - game of thrones inspired AU. Kyungsoo is the leader of his farm land and Jongin is set to be married to him because of his brother, Junmyeon.

Sweeter (the second time around) - abo. Soon to be CEO Jongin is being forced to marry and settle down by his father. Among the suitors his father is considering is his ex, CEO Kyungsoo.

Violet Silk - royalty au, age gap, age switch. omega Prince Kyungsoo is arranged to be married to King Jongin.

Supposedly Not a Love Story - Jongin is a CEO and Kyungsoo is his secretary. Jongin asks Kyungsoo to marry him so he’ll be able to get rid of an overly clingy ex-girlfriend who he was afraid was going to use her family power to get him to marry her.

Clandestine Romance - teacher/student, age switch. Kyungsoo and Jongin were set to be married by their families when Kyungsoo turned 18 and Jongin was 21. Already married, jongin entered kyungsoo’s university as his professor. *cries* I love this fic

Garnet Hearts - royalty au. I mean, I think we all know this amazing fic, but I’m going to put it here for those that don’t ;; Jongin is a twin and the youngest of his royal family and thinks of himself as invisible. After a tragic incident, Jongin is set to marry the prince of another kingdom, Kyungsoo.

Reset - mpreg. Kyungsoo was married before but his husband died. His ex-husband’s mother is trying to take his baby away so kyungsoo comes up with a plan to ask jongin, who he just met, to marry him.

Storming Seas - Jongin and kyungsoo are from kingdoms that have been at war with each other. They have to get married to make peace between the kingdoms.

Diamond Crystal - Kyungsoo and Jongin have been married for three years and still act cold towards each other. Jongin is an idol/model and kyungsoo had to get married to him at 18 because of his family’s affairs.

...and then I met you - abo. kyungsoo comes home one day from school and is dressed in a hanbok, on his way to marry who he’s been engaged to but never met, on the reserve. awkward first meeting ;;

The Third Son - Jongin thought that since he’s the third son in his royal family, he’s free to do what he wants, but his father decides to marry him off so that he won’t produce a male heir.

Fall to Pieces - both princes! kyungsoo and jongin are arranged to be married to join two kingdoms, even though jongin wants to marry soojung. Jongin acts cold to kyungsoo after that, despite growing up with him.

The Colossalcon 2018 Quest Log. (Con-quest part 2)

I suppose I learned a few things in my second con as a freelance adventurer.

Sometimes a failed adventure makes for a better story than a successful adventure.

A party of adventurers is much more efficient than a solo adventurer.

You can survive at Colossalcon without a room if you know how to hide your camp.

Welcome to part 2 of my con-quest log. If you missed the first part, Con-questing is just another layer of activities I do at anime cons. Not only do I cosplay and larp out my D&D/Pathfinder ranger character, but actually take it a step further and attempt to do that thing freelance adventurers do. You know, try to obtain quests from random people, seek out treasures of forgotten lore, and explore the extra planar dungeon space I find myself trapped in with all these strange other people. This time however, I had to work around a few real world obstacles to continue my experience. Yes, aside from gas money, I was flat broke the entire con. I had obtained my con badge far in advance, my tax return was absurdly late, I quit my 48 hour a week (Minimum) job so I could hopefully find something part time in order to have time to work on projects, so I had barely any money at that point... You get the picture. Basically I parked far in the back of the building under the shade of a tree and camped out in the back seat the entire con. (Thus the unkempt appearance in several pics.) Resorting to emergency rations if needed, trying to ignore the night parties at the bungalows that were happening near by, all that stuff.

And if you’re wondering how the hell I was able to run around in all that medieval garb in the scorching summer heat, well…

I have way more heat tolerance than anyone raised in Ohio ever should have, and:

You should’a seen Darth Vader.

But compared to Ohayocon, I noticed something different about the people in Colossalcon. Like it’s a lot of the same people, but they’re much more open to playing along and interacting with this adventurer. I have a theory though. Gotta be that people are pent up in their homes all winter, so by the time Ohayocon rolls around, its much more like they have expectations of what they want their con to be. Hence, people are a little more stressed, and thus more reserved when it comes to interacting with freelance adventurers or other roleplayers. Where as Colossalcon? It’s a summer con. People just want to have fun. They relax, they go with the flow, and are less guarded. More likely to approach or even participate. Yes, I had several people join my party and quest with me at Colossalcon. That alone was kinda more rewarding.

Anyways, just found that interesting, because remember. I’ve been to all the Ohio conventions a thousand times, but when I experience them as a freelance adventurer, I get to see different sides to them.

So yeah. All that said, here is what I accomplished at Colossalcon 2018. This time, let’s start with the failed quests.

X | Bounty Hunt Storm Trooper X. (We had a swordsmen, a gunman, and a black mage. He had a party of 5, all armed with laser blasters. We lost.)

X | Find the Vault 101 Rock. (We found a Kingdom Hearts rock instead.)

X | Acquire a boyfriend for Jody.

X | Hug Monika. Just Monika. (Failed because none showed up at the photoshoot and I couldn’t abstain from hugging all the Sayuris while murmuring emotionally uplifting encouragements.)

X (Sorta) | Solve the Riddler’s Conundrums.

X | Count all the Deku scrubs. (At this point I was too bored of counting quests. They aren’t very fun to be honest.)

O | Find Sailor Pluto and say “Hi”.

O | Unionize the fellow adventurers

O | Find an oversized cosplay and take a picture with it.

O | Find out who pulled the fire alarm. (It was actually the Kalahari staff. They wanted to fix an AC unit, so they pulled it to get everyone out of the building. It was pulled a second time by accident when they went to reset it.)

O | Hold the Door for 10 minutes.

O | Acquire 10 hugs again.

O | Team up with the Saiyens.

O | Circumnavigate the entire exterior of the Kalahari building. (Twice).

O | Duel on the bridge.

O | Give a Kaiju a hug.

O | Objectively “Have a great con.”

O | Follow R2D2 around like a duckling.

O | Pat head and rub belly at the same time.

O | Find Amethyst and Garnet.

O | Find 2 Yugis in one place.

O | Start a game of Ninja

O | Find a cat, get a cat quest.

O | Show a party where to get food. Acquire a free meal. (I am still eternally grateful!)

O | Acquire 3 Rathian Plates for the monster hunter lady.

O | Hug someone while doing the dooglebob scream. (Awkward...)

O | Hug Laura Croft. (Guess she really wanted a hug. Dunno why she made it a quest.)

O | Give a piggy back ride from one end of the hall to the other. (And back.)

O | Help a tired fox locate her best friend.

O | Slap my adventuring Companion. (Quest acquired by his friend.)

O | Ask Ignis to make me a sandwich.

O | Ask Arden to murder me.

Join me next time, where I shall post the results of my con-questing at Matsuricon in Columbus Ohio. My next conquest this year will be at Colossalcon again. This time, preferably with money. Hello there! Thank you so much for joining this exchange. I’m so excited to see whatever you make!

Here is a list of some things I’m looking for in the stuff I requested! If you have stronger ideas and a story you’re just dying to tell about one of these ships, please go full steam ahead. First off though, I’d like to clarify somethings I really, really would not like to receive:

NSFW of minors (I consider this as characters aged up to 20). Please don’t include this at all.

NSFW for characters who are of age is fine - but I’d prefer it to be subtle rather than the point.

PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE FINGER PAINTING, FINGERNAIL/TOENAIL TRAUMA OR OTHER FOCUS ON NAILS - it’s a big squick!!

Here are some things I’m super happy to receive!!

Character studies, including ones with unsatisfying conclusions

Dark themes including assault, murder and death, provided they’re handled with care

Discussion of past relationships that don’t include the couple who is the main thrust of the work

Trans headcanons! (I especially love trans girl hcs for Kaoru Seta, Mari Ohara, Selphie Tilmitt, Ursula Callistis and Croix Meridies but anyone is fair game!)

Alright, let’s get stuck in!

1. BANG DREAM! GIRLS BAND PARTY

Tsugumi Hazawa/Sayo Hikawa

I love this ship - I really suggest reading their first interactions in this event to get a feel for how they interact, if you have only had access to the English version. I’d especially love an internal look at Tsugumi’s feelings if it’s fic, and a cute shared moment with sweets for art.

Kaoru Seta/Kokoro Tsurumaki and Kaoru Seta/Hagumi Kitazawa/Kokoro Tsurumaki

So here's the thing - Kaoru and Kokoro talk past each other constantly and I actually LOVE that. I think it's made even better by having Hagumi as a mediator (Hagumi is stupid but she's not as stupid as Kaoru, and benefits from Kokoro's weird brand of emotional intelligence.)

I want to see them having madcap adventures, buffeted to ever greater heights of idiocy, but also tenderness too. Let them get a little closer than they do as co-buffoons!

Kaoru Seta/Himari Uehara/Rimi Ushigome

While it's super cute that both Rimi and Himari are head over heels for Kaoru I would love it if she got flustered by both of their attention too!

Kaoru Seta/Maya Yamato

It might be a little unorthodox to request a non-romantic cameo but I would LOVE to see Chisato's reaction to this. I like that Maya doesn't fall victim to Kaoru's ridiculousness (maybe due to overexposure?) and it puts her in a perfect position to make the first move for once.

Kanon Matsubara/Chisato Shirasagi

I like this at its best when it's bittersweet, something that Chisato is clinging to a little too desperately while trying to look like she isn't. A touch or two of sadness goes a long way here with this ship, though of course I love cute fluffiness too.

Misaki Okusawa/Rimi Ushigome

My poor forgotten friendship! How I wish the game would remember that they interact! They're both fans of horror fiction which is ADORABLE. Make use of it!

Aya Maruyama/Maya Yamato

Their names are practically the same it's like fated (no but seriously. I love how Maya is so openly supportive of Maya when others are bringing her down, and how Aya sticks up for Maya and celebrates all her weird little foibles. Cute as heck.)

2. Love Live! Sunshine!!

Kanan Matsuura/You Watanabe

I like this best post-highschool after both of them have grown up some, but you can feel free to set it when the series happens if you like. I like that they're both silly jocks who love the ocean, so any work focusing on a maritime theme is A+!

Kanan Matsuura/Dia Kurosawa AND Dia Kurosawa/Kanan Matsuura/Mari Ohara

My OT3... My favourite dynamic between them is Kanan and Dia but I do also love when Mari is there to be the shiny, sparkly bond that glues the group together. Super happy to read about fights and disagreements with these three so long as they all make up by the end

3. Steven Universe

Garnet/Peridot

I'm really interested in this as a character building piece for both of them; Garnet has to learn to not be such of a pedestal and set boundaries, Peridot has to apologise and keep apologising and also learn to give herself over to the moment more. It's okay if it's just a moment of tenderness between the two of them without anything concrete, but building to a relationship is fine too.

Bismuth/Garnet

Again, I really want to see them get back up to speed with each other. Something harking back to their past together would be super lovely too!

Bismuth/Pearl

This is a bit more self-indulgent but it would be so nice to see Bismuth help Pearl dress a little more butch, get a little more in touch with that side of herself. I'd love for Pearl to open up more fully to Bismuth and make her feel secure...

4. Gatchaman Crowds

Hajime Ichinose/Utsutsu Miya

My OTP of all OTPs. Anything you could possibly provide to me I will treasure, provided it's SFW (unless it's post canon and they're adults). I want to see them in love but also I love seeing the imbalance in their power explored, Utsutsu's sadness and Hajime's manic happiness, I love everything about them.

5. Sora yori mo Tooi Basho

Takako Kobuchizawa/Gin Toudou

While a retrospective on their relationship is exciting, I'd also appreciate just plain old flashback fic exploring how much they meant to each other when they were raising Shirase.

Shirase Kobuchizawa/Hinata Miyake AND Yuzuki Shiraishi/Mari Tamaki AND Shirase Kobuchizawa/Hinata Miyake/Yuzuki Shiraishi/Mari Tamaki

I love all of these dynamics equally and would be super delighted to receive any of them! With Shirase/Hinata I'm all about the difficulty in communication between them, and navigating the gaps. When they can connect it feels like a relief, almost, and I love that.

Yuzuki and Kimari are much softer and sillier by contrast and lend themselves well to goofy shenanigans, especially because of Yuzuki's sharp tongue. When all four of them are together I like it best as it is in the show, but with more kissing.

Megumi Takahashi/Mari Tamaki

Oh please kill me with angst for these two I invite it openly (Megu's jealousy is a great resource, but also Kimari's stubbornness to keep loving her - they can make it work if they work hard! I believe in them!)

Yume Sasaki/Honami Yasumoto

Really love how thorougly Shinobu knocks Mitsuko off kilter, so making use of that would be super fun (I also love the contrast in their personalities, with Shinobu being a big teddy bear and Mitsuko being a terrifying ice queen)

Karin Kotani/Manami Hiki

Manami is still such a n00b in so many ways and it would be great if she got some special focus from Karin for a change. The dash of hopeless pity just makes it cuter imo.

Kei Ninomiya/Mai Ganeko

I didn't figure anyone else shipped this! I like Kei getting to break away from Natsuo to talk and grow close with other characters (though I'd of course welcome Natsuo's presence in a fic like this). They can bond over being the sidekicks to extremely intense women who hate each other, haha!

PLEASE THE WHOLE MOVIE I WAS BEGGING THEM TO INTERACT give me anything. I will take literally anything. Space AU. Mafia AU. Bodyguard AU seems too obvious, right? In canon, I'd really appreciate an exploration of what they mean to each other and a way to make it work while keeping both their principles intact.

Selphie Tilmitt/Selphie's Friend (FF8)

Even as a little kid I felt like this was ripe for potential, especially considering how Zell and other party members conduct their romantic business outside of the main party. I'd love to see her coming back to Trabia after the end of the story and getting to relax with her girlfriend for once. (Name the girlfriend whatever you want, but if it's hard to name her how about Tabitha?)

10. Little Witch Academia

Ursula Callistis | Chariot du Nord/Croix Meridies

I'm obsessed with the idea of Ursula determined to redeem Croix by her own hands even when the rest of the world spurns her (and rightfully so!), so something with comedic potential or a more meaty emotional exploration are both things I'd love to see or read.

Atsuko Kagiri/Sucy Manvaran/Lotte Yanson

I love my silly weird protag trio. I think what I'd most like to see here is how they became a couple and then more than a couple; bonus points for keeping Sucy her malevolent, extremely dangerous self while retaining all that exhausted fondness both she and Lotte have for Akko.
