the golden hour - send me a character and scenario/au and I'll write a little drabble for you!
oooh, if you're feeling inspired could you write a little something where finnick odair and the reader are just sharing a fluffy moment, post-rebellion? tysm <33
hi nova! let's ignore how long you waited for this, okay? enjoy baby!
Tumblr media
The air was salty, as the waves crashed into the rocks. You could see him standing in the water, his back covered in sun. Finnick could practically feel you looking at him, turning to you with a soft smile on his lips.
Hair messy, cheeks slightly red from the warmth, one might think he never sensed a day of pain in his life. Still, the scars on his chest told the different story. Few years ago you could've only dreamed of this for your next life, one where you might live normally. Did he even know? How much love you had for him, how much he meant to you.
"Darling?" his voice brought you back to the moment, as he got out of the water and sat next to you.
"I love you so much, Finnick. I wish I could show you." Your hand found his hair, messing it up just because.
"I know you do, love. Trust me." He turned to you, because maybe you didn't talk about it, but he knew. He knew what the Games did to you, how they changed you. So he tried his best, for you, for the both of you.
"Lay on your back, baby."
You laughed, "What? Why?"
"Because my girl deserves a massage."
It was a nice offer, really. You couldn't refuse it, so you didn't. You turned away from him, layed down and smiled waiting for him to start. His touches were soft, as if he was touching something that might break any minute.
"You're good at this, you know?"
Finnick's laugh, even after all these years, brought butterflies to your stomach, and you felt like world was made just for the two of you.
He didn't answer, but kept going. It was times like these, simple acts of love that kept you in love with him. He was better than you at showing his love, that was obvious. But what you didn't know, is how much he loved the simple things you did for him. Reminding him to drink water, or asking for his help when you wouldn't be able to reach something from the top shelf.
You got so relaxed you were almost startled when his lips met your back. Soft kisses he placed along your own scars, like a medicine of its own kind.
Tears were gathering in your eyes, so much love you couldn't keep it in. You laughed quietly, hoping he didn't notice.
"You're my favorite person in the whole world, Y/n."
And he was yours too. It just took time for you to show him that, but it was alright, because he already knew that.

I didn't know how to end this, I'm sorry :(

@scaleniusrm @laysmt @to-the-endoftheline @oharasfilipinawife
------
You feel like you're floating as you read the note over and over again etching every curve and spike of Dr. O'Hara's messy signature on the card into your memory. You lean in, smelling the gorgeous flowers, closing your eyes, a warm feeling making itself known in your chest. This truly felt like a dream come true. The way this went from one of your worst days to the best in a matter of hours. This mysterious, handsome scientist being the cause. Everything about your life changed in a matter of minutes. You were going to go to bed hungry, and instead woke up to a 5 star meal and your favorite flowers.
"What is that?" Isla asks sharply, causing you to spin around, tucking the card under your arm.
"Nothing.....just-ah...some flowers....and food."
"What the...." She takes a step closer, scanning you suspiciously. She smirks, "I didn't know you had a boyfriend."
You feel your face heat up and try to shuffle away quickly in annoyance. She takes note of the way you're turned away, trying to conceal the card and who it's from.
"Well come on, who is it?" She presses. Heather and Vivian walk up and stand next to her in mutual curiousity.
"He's....um.....Greg?"
"Greg?"
"You don't know him." With that, you bolt for your room, leaving your roommates with raised eyebrows and suspicions.
You lock your bedroom door behind you and place the takeout bag on your bed, first arranging your new flowers on the windowsill in a vase before you dig in. When you open the bag, there's three different entrees of your favorite things to order from the restaurant, two of your favorite appetizers, two desserts, and two large to-go cups filled with two of your favorite beverages and those delightful pebble ice cubes that gave that satisfying crunch and sounded so heavenly when it clattered against the plastic.
As you took your first few bites of the piping hot food, you leaned back in your bed with a sigh of contentment. You could probably die and go to heaven with how delicious everything was, your belly and your bank account nice and full.
You stood up and changed into your favorite pajamas and lounge wear, putting a show to watch on your phone while you continued to eat to your heart's content with your gorgeous bouquet as the perfect backdrop against the setting sun outside your dorm window.
-------
The next morning, you woke up, deciding that you'll get to Alchemax bright and early to give Dr. O'Hara a proper thank you. You figured this would be a one time thing and nothing you could do would be enough to pay him back, not to mention the moral implications of a manager doing this for one of his interns. He really put it all out there for you and you didn't want it to go unacknowledged.
You wrote out a heartfelt letter on some notebook paper and grabbed a poppyseed muffin from the common area and hoped that he'd appreciate the thought behind it. You did your hair, dressing in one of your nicer outfits, makeup just the way you liked it and walked out the door with a spring in your step.
-----
Alchemax
Miguel took a generous sip from his coffee mug. It had a picture of him and Gabi as stick figures that she drew in preschool as the custom design he had printed on the mug. He looked at it fondly with a little smile as he remembered his reason for it all.
His eyes widened when he saw you standing at his desk, a muffin in a brown paper bag and a note in your hands.
"Buenos Dias." (Good morning) He said pleasantly.
You smiled at him, your heart pattering in your chest a little bit now. "Good Morning..."
The way you finished your greeting made it sound like you had something else to say.  Miguel waited, his face a little unreadable as he left the floor open for you to continue your thought.
You clear your throat. "I just wanted to thank you, for everything you did for me yesterday. It's-uh. It's just unbelievable and...and I don't know how I could possibly p-pay you back..."
You reach out, offering him the note and the muffin. "I wanted you to have these..."
Miguel's eyebrow raises.
"I-I know it's not a lot....heh. It's absolutely nothing compared to what you've done for me...but it was the least I could do."
Miguel hums and sets down his mug, taking the note and the muffin. "You're welcome...and thank you, for this..." He peers inside the paper bag. "Poppyseed?"
You nod, absentmindedly fiddling with your fingers out of nervous habit.
"One of my favorites." He says with a little smile. However the smile quickly disappears as he walks past you to his desk. "I'm going to have you work with Dr. Drew and the junior intern group from now on."
"Dr. Drew?" You give him a confused look. "But, I thought..."
"I have something different in mind for you." He said shortly, sitting down and opening his laptop, peering over his glasses. "I believe Jess's direction will be better suited for your needs. Her group has an opening anyway."
You feel your stomach flop. This was unexpected and you didn't have anything against Dr. Drew, but Dr. O'Hara's group was extremely hard to get onto and this was basically a demotion. Senior Intern just looked that much more attractive on your resume. You were startled at having this change so quickly, uncertain what this would mean for your career and the impression it would leave on your transcript.
"Doctor...with all due respect." You said slowly. "I wanted to be on your team. I mean, I wrote that thesis, I collaborated on that project last year with Dr. Parker and I really really worked my tail off..." You feel a lump in your throat. "Please don't take me off your team."
Dr. O'Hara looks up at you a little sternly from his desk, "I understand your concern, but trust me, this will be a better move for both of us. Jess is a brilliant scientist. One of my best. She will lead you better than I."
"Is...does this have anything to do with what you did for me..?"
Miguel cuts you off, a little harshly this time, saying your name in a firm tone. "Please. Do not argue with me. She's already expecting you and doesn't like to be kept waiting."
You take a step back, a little alarmed and immediately regretful at pushing back. You turn around quickly, walking swiftly towards Jess's office without another word.
-----
Dr. Jess Drew has a lovely smile for you when she sees you walk in. "Hello! Remind me of your name?"
You give it to her and humbly enter the lab, a tall, young looking blonde with one side of her head shaved with the tips dyed pink, and another tall young man with curly dark hair are handling some lab chemicals with safety goggles on their faces, stepping back as the concotion begins to fizz.
"Gwen and Miles here are studying chemical reactions. You'll help me supervise them."
You nod, returning the kind smiles that they both offer you, before they go back to their discussion.
"So, Miguel tells me you are studying Bio?" Jess asks, trying to start up conversation.
"That's correct."
"Wow, and you're going to apply to medical school?"
You nod again. Jess smiles, impressed. "Well, good for you, girl. An Alchemax internship will definitely make you stand out."
You give her a weak smile. "I hope so...to be honest with you, I didn't see this coming. I was kind of expecting to stay with Dr. O'Hara's group until December, then I could be eligible to apply for a full time position."
Jess nods in understanding, a sympathetic hand on your shoulder. "Well, I've known Dr. O'Hara for over a decade now. If he made any changes, it's for good reason and probably best for your individual career path. Can't argue with the CEO."
"CEO?" Your ears perk up.
"Oh..." Jess gives you a little embarrassed smile, nodding towards Gwen and Miles as she motions for you to join her a little further away out of earshot.
"Yeah...he recently started the whole internship program and likes to be hands on with up and coming scientists, so they're fully prepared to work under him and meet his standards. He hates it when people bring up his status as CEO. He just is under a lot of scrutiny and dislikes media coverage in general, so he keeps quiet about it...don't tell anyone I told you that." She murmurs to you with a wink.
Finally, it all makes sense. The money, the lavish gifts, how powerful he was. It made sense Miguel was the elusive CEO of Alchemax that liked to hide from the public eye, despite Alchemax's blaring position in the limelight as the cutting edge of innovation for science and tech. A crowning jewel for the economy of Nueva York, putting them on the map as a technological hub and source of income for over 200,000 employees.
You nod and go back to helping Jess, Miles and Gwen, continuing to work while being unable to get Dr. O'Hara to leave the back of your mind.
-----
When it's time to leave and go to lunch, Jess stops you after Gwen and Miles had already left. "Hold on a sec!"
Jess hands you a small white card with elegant gold trim around the edges.
"You're wanted in the executive suite for lunch. Floor 99. And the code is written down here." She points to the neatly printed black numbers on the card.
"Now, this is important. You are forbidden to share this code with anyone, let alone tell anyone you were up there this afternoon. Got it?" Jess lowers her voice.
"For-bidden. Meaning if you tell anyone, not only are you fired, but I am too, because I was the one who gave it to you. And I have no problem hunting you down... got it?" She shoots you a warm smile.
You smile back, understanding she's mainly joking, but just trying to emphasize the importance of keeping it confidential and covering herself. You nod. "Absolutely...I'll, I'll guard it with my life."
"Atta girl."
You smile and walk out to the hall towards the elevators, impossibly wondering why on Earth your presence was needed in the part of the building less than a handful of people had privilege to access.
-----
You punch the button for floor 99. Nervousness and jitters rising in your body almost in sync with the glass elevator's ascent, passing floor after floor.
Finally, floor 99 arrives with a loud ding. The doors open, revealing a polished marble hallway with a large, fancy door at the end. You walk down it, the sound of your shoes echoing off the walls, noticing the they are adorned with some of the finest artwork.
Cubism style paintings that must have cost a fortune. You pause at one of them, admiring the art, then resume your walk again, arriving in front of the large door. You look to your left and there's a small keypad. You enter the code:
2-0-9-9
You jump back, startled as the door automatically, slowly creaks open, revealing a lavish, lounge suite. Floor to ceiling windows cover the wall on the far end you're facing, a wall with various pieces of tech and advanced looking gadgets are organized in a black case to your left. Gentle harp music playing from a speaker fills your eardrums. There's several tan, cozy looking sofas and sleek coffee tables in the middle. A water feature is on the wall to your right, tranquil water trickling down polished rocks and lightly splashing into a peaceful pond with green lily pads dialing up the degree of luxury. You walk towards the windows, taking in the afternoon cityscape of Nueva York and discover a huge buffet table laid out in front of it.
Platters of the finest pastries and breads: croissants, Challah, assorted bagels, muffins, brownies, danishes, strudals, fritters, and the like. Next to it is freshly cut deli meats: ham, prosciutto, salami, pastrami, turkey, and roast beef arranged beautifully on wooden planks. Then a huge collection of cheeses  with cheddar, swiss, havarti, muenster, fresh mozzarella, a large wheel of expensive looking brie, raclette, camembert, and smoked gouda with elegant serving utensils.
Your mouth waters as you take in the sight of an enormous porcelain bowl of fresh fruit. The juiciest, greenest looking grapes you've ever seen with plump strawberries, fresh pineapple, delectable looking kiwi, freshly washed raspberries and mango.
If you thought that wasn't enough food, there's also salads in crystal serving bowls: Wildberry, Cesar, Cobb, and a yummy looking pasta salad with bowtie noodles.
You hear sharp clicking of stilettos behind you on the marble and you turn around.
"There you are!"
Lyla comes walking up to you with a smile, a little frazzled from all the other errands she's been running this morning, wearing a pink blazer with slacks to match, her brown bob hanging neatly around her cheeks.
"I'm glad you could make it! Miguel is running a little late. He's in a meeting, but in the meantime you're welcome to begin and get served up, then if you want to just have a seat at that table." She points to a large oak table next to the waterfall.
"Oh, and what juice do you want, sweetie?"
You blink, so overwhelmed by all of this fancy food and attention. This level of luxury something completely foreign to you.
"Um...what do you have?"
"It's all freshly squeezed." She says with a smile and adjust of her glasses. "Umm, lemme see if I can remember...okay, yes we have orange, apple, grape, cranberry, mango, passion fruit, grapefruit..."
You think for a moment then tell her your selection.
"Great! Coming right up. Oh, and there's also a coffee station, water station and assorted teas over there." She points to the end of the buffet table as she hastily walks into another room.
----
A short time later, you're sitting with your huge plate of food and three drinks, munching away with a content look on your face, watching the city below outside the window as you dine on the fancy lunch.
A door opens on the far end of the room and Miguel comes walking through, loosening his tie and shrugging off his blazer. Your cheeks heat up as he approaches, his white dress shirt clinging to his body and sparing you no detail of every bulking muscle of his figure, an endearing slight pudge of his stomach and a little smile on his face as he greets you for the first time.
"Is the food to your liking?" He asks gently, draping his blazer over the back of the chair next to yours.
"Oh! Um, yes. Yes, oh my God. Everything is amazing. Thank you, doctor..."
"Miguel." Miguel responds firmly. "Please call me Miguel from now on."
You nod, "Miguel..."
Miguel's body gets warm at the sound of his name leaving your lips. He's a little ashamed because he'd love to make you say it again...a little louder eventually.
"Well, eat as much food as you like. Feel free to take some with you. I'll have Lyla package it up for you."
Miguel walks over to the table, dishing up his own plate. "I'm sure you might be wondering my reasons for all of this. Why I changed your internship and why I invited you here."
Miguel finishes dishing up his plate, just a generous helping of the Wildberry salad with vinaigrette and a croissant, sitting next to you. Sauvage by Dior coming off his neck making you clench your hands into fists.
"I invited you here because...I want to be straightforward with you. I'm very intrigued by you."
Your lips part, your fork falling out of your hand and clattering against the porcelain plate making you jump. A trace of amusement flashes across Miguel's face, then he returns to looking at you with a sincere  expression. "I've taken an interest in helping you with your career. With this medical school journey you are on." He continues, turning his attention to his salad, stabbing some of the lettuce.
"I'm a man who makes deals. If you are comfortable with it, I'd like to work out an agreement to where I provide you with anything you might need or desire in terms of funds, clothing, food..." He coats the bite of lettuce in some dressing. "In return, all I ask for is your complete loyalty and companionship. With the ability to negotiate what that looks like."
You dab your mouth with your napkin, trying to make sense of what he's telling you. If you weren't mistaken it sounds like, "You want me to...be your sugar baby?"
Miguel smiles, blowing a little air out of his nose. "For lack of a better term, yes." He takes a bite of his  croissant, then a generous sip of lemon water.
"But, why. Why me? I mean...all the other girls in my dorm at my college, the smart women you work with, surely, there's someone else that would be a more equal fit to you. Why such an interest in someone like me?"
Miguel pauses, setting down his fork. "Because I see in you what you don't see in yourself. You have potential. You're smart and determined. You've demonstrated you can work hard. You're different. I've noticed you're a lot kinder than your peers. You're humble, and you don't show off." He smiles.
"You're a perfectionist and you put extra care into your work. I want to make your dreams of medical school happen for you. I see an investment that's very worthwhile."
"An investment?" You ask. "I'm just a business proposition?"
Miguel chuckles. "No...no....you are certainly more important than that. Traditionally, with these kinds of arrangements, there's a...a more intimate component to it." His brown eyes shine with the tiniest hint of mischief. "Typically, I'd provide all of this for you, and you'd give me something in return."
Your breathing gets a little heavier.
Miguel notices your flustered reaction and smirks, putting a reassuring hand on yours. The warmth of his palm radiating over your skin. "But, my mother raised me to give freely, without expectation of receiving anything in return. I would be fine providing for you as long as you'd let me. As long as you continue to work hard for my company, perform well in your studies, and agree to not to see anyone else while we are involved with one another, but I'm getting a little ahead of myself."
You remain silent, a quiet analysis underway in your mind as he slides a folder to you with a fancy ballpoint pen, the click of it alone sounding like a year's salary. "Open it."
You obey and open the folder with shaky hands. A lengthy, formal agreement is neatly typed in small black letters, with ample blank space in between some of the clauses of the agreement, presumably for any changes you'd like to make.
Miguel opens his own copy of the document, taking another fancy ballpoint pen in hand. "Now...this first paragraph details the money aspect of our arrangement. Since I sent you $1,000, that would be considered an advance on your allowance, and I would not send another payment until two weeks from yesterday. Unless, you are needing more before then?" He asks. "Why don't you list all of your debts for me and their respective amounts, and I'll write them down here."
You nod, going through the list. There's your phone bill, your Netflix account, Spotify, your insurance, groceries, your three maxed out credit cards, a personal loan you owe the bank, as well as anything you need such as toiletries, medicine, and clothing. Miguel takes note of each one and writes it down. The room silent except for the gentle flick of his pen.
"Perfect. These won't be an issue at all." He scans the next paragraph. "Now, for this portion, I need you to fill out this form."
He slides you a new paper, and your eyebrows furrow in curiosity as you look at its contents. It almost looks like a personality quiz, asking for your favorite foods, drinks, places you like to go, your favorite colors, your favorite fashion brands, what makeup you like to use, jewelry you prefer, your height, and measurements.
"What are these for?"
"These are for me. So I can take care of you properly." Miguel says.
You feel the area between your legs get hot when you notice one of the items. "F-favorite... position..."
Miguel smirks. "Like I said, we can negotiate on that portion. I'm not expecting you to do anything intimate with me if you are not comfortable. But if you are..." He stands up, leaning over you a little bit.
"Then I'd like to know, so I can pleasure you accordingly. In just the way you'd like..."
You can feel yourself getting dizzy. Everything about this arrangement seemed so good to be true, you had yet to find any downsides to it. But it felt wrong, almost naughty. This man who was supposed to be your boss, now turned into your personal butler, chef, piggy bank, providing and pampering you with anything and everything a girl could possibly dream of or want.
"I...I might be okay with little things like...I don't know...kissing?" Your face heats up and you look down at your lap. Were you really talking out loud, in explicit detail about a proposed physical relationship with your boss?
Miguel smiles and nods. "Alright..." He jots that down. "Anything else?"
"Anything but...sex." you say the last word quietly as though it was a sin.
Miguel gives you a reassuring smile, perking up a little bit in excitement at the idea of you opening yourself up to him a little more physically. "Could you be more specific?" He asks quietly.
Your face burns and you look around to make sure Lyla or someone isn't around.
"It's just you and me, cariño..." He says quietly, leaning a little closer to you. "I need you to be as specific as you can about what you are comfortable with doing together. Nobody will know, but you and I..."
His tone is gentle, just above a whisper. You feel your insides curdle into honey. "Um...kissing, like making out..."
"Mhmm..." Miguel nods slowly, writing it down. "Please, go on."
"Um, touching..."
"Over, or under clothing..."
"Um.." you bite your cheek, trying to keep your composure. "....both."
Miguel cocks his head at you, a smile curling on his lips. "You sound unsure."
You shake your head "No I'm, I'm sure..."
Miguel looks at you curiously. "You don't need to lie or say what you think I'd like to hear." He sets down his pen.
"To be frank, your pleasure is positively correlated with my own. In order for mine to be optimized, yours must be completely satisfied...and I'd like to get as much as I can."
Your eyes flutter and you swallow, nodding. "Ah-okay.... Um...yeah let's just do touching outside of our clothes for now."
Miguel hums and takes note. "We'll revisit that part later, when we have more time. This next section is extremely important."
He runs his finger down the page. "Now, these are just a few housekeeping items. I prefer minimal public displays of affection, and if there are any, they are extremely modest. Any public dates we go on will be limited so you are not spotted by the press. You are not to post of our relationship on social media. You must reject any romantic advances from anyone else. Does this all sound okay?"
You blink a little at the rigid terms but nod. "Okay, yeah, understood." You look back down at the document, scanning over the next paragraph, noticing the next section, "Transparency...so, I'm allowed to ask you any questions I have before I sign the agreement?"
"Yes, any questions you have, I'll answer. So you know what you're getting into." Miguel says, leaning back in his chair.
"Have...have you had relationships like this before?"
Miguel nods. "Yes, I have."
You gulp, a little uneasy at his answer but you slowly digest it. "Have they been...employees of yours?"
Miguel pauses as he recollects his memory. "No, admittedly. You are the first. That's why I moved you under Jess's leadership. To try and avoid any entanglements that would compromise my business."
You nod, biting the tip of your pen thoughtfully. "It says here you don't do marriage?"
"Marriage? No. That's correct. I will not marry anyone."
You hesitate. "Can I ask why?"
Miguel nods, taking his seat next to you again. "I built this business from the bottom up. It means a great deal to me. I have entirely too much to lose. My fear for the security of my assets, along with the messy emotions of a marriage are why I refrain from entering into it again."
"You were married before?"
"Yes, once. She passed away shortly after my daughter was born."
"I'm sorry..." You say quietly.
"Don't apologize, it happened a long time ago. But, my not wanting to get married has caused many of the women who were in your position before to end the relationship. I understand if this is a deal breaker for you."
You contemplate for several moments. Marriage was something you dreamed of, but with all of the amazing benefits he was offering you, perhaps you could put up with a ring being taken out of the equation, for now. "I think I can handle it."
Miguel smiles and nods. "Very well...just know that you can terminate this arrangement at any time, and I won't harbor any feelings of animosity towards you if you do. I understand my requirements are extensive, but I intend to make sure it's completely worth it and you are happy and taken care of. If you sign this agreement, you will still be mine entirely. Anything you desire, anything you want. I promise it will be yours."
His hand finds yours again. "Now...if you'll sign, please?"

You quickly write your signature on the bottom line. A small breath leaving you as he tucks it back into the folder. "Wonderful...thank you. This means a great deal to me...with that said and done..." He takes you by the hand, helping you stand up.
His eyes look into yours. You hold his gaze, a look of wonder on your face as you look back at this beautiful man who just promised to be all yours. Your wish his command. Every pretty and fine thing in his world at your disposal. He purrs quietly, bringing you closer.
"Will you put your hands on my chest, please?" He whispers.
You obey, your lips parting as you feel the dense muscle underneath your palms. A quiet rumble vibrating through him at the sensation of your touch. Your eyelids droop when you feel him bringing his hands to your hips.
"And...I can put my hands here...?" He murmurs.
You nod silently, wetting your lips.
Miguel smirks at this, his own eyelids becoming heavy and he leans down towards you a little bit. "Can I have a kiss, before you go?"
You utter a shaky breath and nod, "Yes..."
He carefully and gently presses his full lips against yours in a delicate kiss. He was softer than you were expecting. He hums quietly and begins slowly to open his mouth against yours, releasing little breaths into your mouth when you hold the kiss.
Any anxiety you had about this arrangement seemed to dissapate as quickly as your lips met in a tender first meeting, your body now reacting with a mind of its own, your hands slowly sliding up his body, finding the back of his hair.
Miguel grunts a little eagerly, pleasantly happy with the way you're responding, and he pulls you closer, sliding his tongue into your mouth, sucking your bottom lip, using one of his hands to angle your head, requesting permission to leave his kisses elsewhere besides your lips. You groan and tilt your head back, letting him gently move his lips along your throat. He chuckles against your skin. "Perfect...."
He sighs and cups your face in his hands, looking at you with adoring eyes. "I have to go away on business until Friday..." He brings you back in for another kiss, gliding his tongue across your lips, smiling as he hears you moan open mouthed into him.
"Mmm….this...should hold me off until then." He presses his forehead against yours. "In the meantime, don't forget to fill out that paper of all your favorite things." He nuzzles the tip of his nose against yours. "I also need your phone number."
You beam at him and eagerly enter your number into his sleek phone while he gently kisses the top of your head, watching you do it. Before you part, he speaks up.
"One more thing, with me, you will be looked after and offered personal protection."
A man enters the room. He's tall and lanky, sporting a grey turtleneck under a fancy tweed black trenchcoat and circular framed glasses with dark brown hair. He's rather cute and looks like a mashup of The Matrix meets Peaky Blinders.
"This is Noir. He will be your personal driver. You're to let him know where you're going at all times and if there's anything you need, okay? He has my number as well, so any questions or concerns you have for me, you can also relay to him in the event that I'm unavailable."
"Ma'am." Noir greets you with a friendly smile and polite kiss on the back of the hand. "Your wish is my command. Your safety and comfort is my utmost priority. If you're stuck in front of a train, my only job is to throw myself in front of it."
Miguel clears his throat, a little annoyed with Noir's dramatics. "Yes...right. Take her home, please. Make sure she has anything she needs until Friday." He pulls you back in for one more kiss and hug. "And I'll see you...." He kisses you tenderly. "Very soon...¿Vale? (Right)
"Right..." You agree, giving him another gorgeous smile. "Thanks, Miguel. I'll miss you..."
Miguel gives you a warm smile and one more peck on the lips. "Awh...te extraño más(I'll miss you more)." He winks.
"Take care of her for me, Noir."
"You got it, boss."
-----
Noir drives you in a sleek Mercedes back home, opening your door and making sure you have everything you need before he drives off into the night.
You walk in your shared dorm with a big smile, only to have it wiped away when you open your fridge. Your leftovers from your takeout last night were missing. You close the fridge with a frown and walk towards your room, pausing outside Isla's room. You hear her voice along with Heather and Vivian's speaking in low volume which abruptly cuts off when they hear someone approaching.
"Hey..."
The three girls look up at you from their places on Isla's bed as though you killed their cat.
"H-have you guys seen my food that was in the fridge?"
"Don't know, don't care." Vivian snaps.
You tense up, wondering where this hostility is coming from. "I don't get it, what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong, except Professor Hill came in and bitched at all of us not cleaning the bathroom."
You take a deep breath. "Okay...but, I told you guys last week, I'm tired of being the only one who cleans it, and this week I'm not doing it, so one of you needs to decide who's taking a turn this time."
"Um, actually it is your job this week. Since you want to be a whore and sleep around with the boss." Heather says, crossing her arms.
You feel a knot in your stomach.
"What are....w-what..."
"Huh, um what, duh?" Isla responds, mocking you in a deep voice with dramatic facial expressions. "Stop playing dumb. Now you think you're hot shit, getting to skip out on work now that you're his little slut and he's sending you flowers?"
“First of all, it's none of your business, second of all, why are you privy to any of this, Isla? Did you go into my room while I was gone?”
“It's none of your business, since you wanna play that game with me, you hoe.”  she retorts.
"It's not my fault he chose me over your desperate ass, Isla!"
Isla pauses, then chuckles darkly. "Oh sweetheart...." She gets up, shoving past you and racing towards your room.
"What the-" you attempt to run after her but Heather and Viviana hold you back, pushing you against the door. "Ow-stop! Please!"
Isla takes the bouquet of flowers from your window sill and the card, "ThAnK yOu FOr tHe sAnDwICh and fOR yOur DiliGEnt woRK fOR mY depaRtmEnt. EnJOy- Dr. O’HArA!" She reads in another mocking tone.
"Isla, those are mine!" Heather and Vivian restrain your arms, preventing you from entering your room. "Stop!!"
Isla smirks and opens your window, tossing the gorgeous bouquet of flowers out of it.
Your heart sinks from your chest to your stomach and you bolt outside, Heather and Vivian cackling at your expense.
Your lip trembles and eyes fill with tears as you crouch down, trying to pick up the pieces of the shattered vase and the tattered flowers that lay on the ground.
----
Noir notices you're not as talkative as he drives you to work the next morning. “Long night?”
“Eh…” you try to brush it off. “Just issues with my living situation.”
“Wanna talk about it?” Noir asks, adjusting his mirror so his gray eyes look into yours. “I'm all ears.”
You make a tiny scoff, running your tongue along your teeth as you recount your confrontation with Heather, Isla and Vivian, sniffing as you tell him how they've made your life hell and picked on you ever since you moved into the sorority.
Noir nods, taking silent notes in his head as he quietly drives.
“Hey…” Noir says to you as you go to exit the car. “Don't let the bastards get you down, little lady.”
You crack a small smile, nodding and entering the building with a loud sigh.
----
After work, as you slide into the backseat, you gasp at the sight waiting for you. A fresh bouquet of red roses and babies breath even bigger and more gorgeous than the old one, with a new note from Miguel.
This vase is shatterproof. ;) Please tell me if they give you any more trouble. You're more precious to me than any flower. I hope this proves it.
All yours,
-Dr. O’Hara

YA Fiction
7. When Villains Rise by Rebecca Schaeffer With her best friend, Kovit's, life in danger, Nita is determined to take down the black market once and for all. Latina asexual and aromantic main character (Nita).
8. The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee Henry "Monty" Montague was bred to be a gentleman. His quest for pleasures and vices have led to one last hedonistic hurrah as Monty, his best friend and crush Percy, and Monty's sister Felicity begin a Grand Tour of Europe. When a reckless decision turns their trip abroad into a harrowing manhunt, it calls into question everything Monty knows, including his relationship with the boy he adores. Aro/ace secondary character (prequel to a Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy).
9. The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee A year after an accidentally whirlwind grand tour with her brother Monty, Felicity Montague has returned to England with two goals in mind—avoid the marriage proposal of a lovestruck suitor from Edinburgh and enroll in medical school. A highly loved book in regards to asexual portrayal, Felicity’s journey does a fantastic job of exploring the struggle of navigating a world where marriage is expected of women in order to function in society. Even more refreshing is Felicity isn’t just avoiding getting married out of a sole rebellion against the patriarchy (though those themes are also present), but simply because she doesn’t have an interest in sexual or romantic relationships at all.
10. Silver in the Mist by Emily Victoria Asexual Devlin has grown up in the shadow of her mother’s impressive spy network—and the shadow of the kingdom, too. A magical mist is eating away at their borders, weakening their magic and making them vulnerable to attacks. Devlin is tasked with infiltrating the royal court of the wealthier neighboring kingdom, but when she befriends their most powerful magic wielder, she discovers an ancient mystery that may hold the key to defeating the mists for good. Victoria prioritizes strong friendships between queer characters and an examination of wealth disparity in this fantasy full of twists and turns.
11. Not Good for Maidens by Tori Bovalino Beneath the streets of York, the goblin market calls to the Wickett women-the family of witches that tends to its victims. For generations, they have defended the old cobblestone streets with their magic. Knowing the dangers, they never entered the market-until May Wickett fell for a goblin girl, accepted her invitation, and became inextricably tied to the world her family tried to protect her from. Told through dual narratives in different timelines, the book essentially has two protagonists: Lou and May. Between these two characters, we have some great queer representation for both asexuality and bisexuality.
12. A Snake Falls to Earth by Darcie Little Badger Themes of magic, family, asexuality, and traditional storytelling dominate in Lipan Apache author Darcie Little Badger's delightful and uplifting second YA novel. A Lipan girl named Nina collides with Oli who is from the land of spirits and monsters. But some people will do anything to keep them apart. This is a wholesome, elegantly written read guaranteed to warm your heart!

But Yasm steps off on the wrong foot when she reports an anonymous gossip Instagram account harassing new band members and accidentally gets the entire low brass section suspended from extracurriculars. Rep: disability, asexuality, sapphic side characters, POTS and PTSD.
16. The State of Us by Shaun David Hutchinson When Dean Arnault’s mother decided to run for president, it wasn’t a surprise to anyone, least of all her son. The only problem is that Dre Rosario’s on the opposition; he’s the son of the Democratic nominee. In a moment of solidarity and high emotions, Dean tells Dre that he has been questioning his sexual orientation. He isn’t sure if he’s asexual or demisexual. Dre puts a messaging app on Dean’s phone so they can stay in touch.
17. Scavenge the Stars by Tara Sim When Amaya rescues a mysterious stranger from drowning, she fears her rash actions have earned her a longer sentence on the debtor ship where she’s been held captive for years. Vanja’s relationship with junior prefect Emeric could not be more demisexual if it tried, with both sides of the romance experiencing asexual spectrum existence in different and complimentary ways. One part Germanic fairytale, one part ensemble heist, Little Thieves is an unhinged romp of a book.
20. Everyone Hates Kelsie Miller by Meredith Ireland Rom-coms and the asexuality spectrum...two great things that go great together. Kelsie and Eric have been competing against each other their whole lives. But desperation forces them to work together. Asexual main character, not explicitly stated in the book.
26. Technically, You Started It by Lana Wood Johnson When a guy named Martin Nathaniel Munroe II texts you, it should be obvious who you're talking to. Except there's two of them (it's a long story), and Haley thinks she's talking to the one she doesn't hate. Demisexual main character.

One of Simone’s best friends in the book, Claudia, is an asexual lesbian. The unwavering support she gives to Simone is heartwarming, and she is also openly sex-positive—which flips the script on its head regarding what most people would assume of asexual people.
30. The Art of Saving the World by Corinne Duyvis When Hazel Stanczak was born, an interdimensional rift tore open near her family’s home, which prompted immediate government attention. They soon learned that if Hazel strayed too far, the rift would become volatile and fling things from other dimensions onto their front lawn—or it could swallow up their whole town. Hazel Stanczak identifies as asexual, though she spends time in the book questioning it. The book presents a unique way to show that there is not one single way to be asexual—that it exists on a spectrum and can look different for each person.
31. Let's Talk About Love by Claire Kann Alice had her whole summer planned. Non-stop all-you-can-eat buffets while marathoning her favorite TV shows (best friends totally included) with the smallest dash of adulting–working at the library to pay her share of the rent. The only thing missing from her perfect plan? Her girlfriend (who ended things when Alice confessed she’s asexual). Alice is done with dating–no thank you, do not pass go, stick a fork in her, done. Alice is a biromantic and asexual black woman who starts off very confident in her identity as asexual, yet has experiences that have her questioning her orientation and how to talk about it.
32. In the Ravenous Dark by AdriAnne Strickland A pansexual blood mage reluctantly teams up with an undead spirit to start a rebellion among the living and the dead. This book features Japha, an asexual nonbinary character who serves as the best friend to the MC.
33. Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate Life at Paloma High School is much like any other high school, with petty drama, judgmental assholes, and mind-numbing schoolwork. Until it isn’t. A scandal emerges: a student and teacher had an illicit affair. At the center of the scandal are seven teenagers, each with their own secrets, whose lives are transformed as a result of this scandal. One of the characters can be read as asexual (and possibly neurodiverse). He never explicitly labels himself as such, but the way he describes his experiences of [non-]attraction strongly point to him being on the ace spectrum.
34. Quicksilver by R. J. Anderson Tori thought she had left her past behind when she and her family started a new life in a new city. But then Sebastian Faraday reappears in her life to tell her that she’s not quite as safe as she thinks: the relay is still operating and a genetics lab is trying to track her down to figure out the secret behind her unusual biology. Tori is going to have to use all of her considerable technical expertise to escape her past and live the normal human life she’s always wanted to have. Asexual main character.

While there, she works in her fabulous 50’s inspired uniform, twirling around the diner floor and earning an obscene amount of tips. With her family and ungirlfriend at her side, she has everything she needs for one last perfect summer before starting college in the fall. …until she becomes Misty Haven’s Summer Queen in a highly anticipated matchmaking tradition that she wants absolutely nothing to do with. Aro/ace secondary character.
39. Dread Nation by Justina Ireland An alternate history where the Civil War was put on hold when zombies started to rise. And the restless dead, it would seem, are the least of her problems. The word asexual is not used, but that fits with the setting, and the explanation goes into a fair amount of detail, also ruling out that she likes women instead.
40. At Emilie's urging, each girl takes the other's place. Miller (Ruin of Stars) writes in lush, dense prose that can require a careful read, but her protagonists' awareness of privilege and desire to challenge the status quo shines through. LGBTQ representation--including gay, trans, and nonbinary characters (Annette identifies as asexual biromantic)--further widens this tale's appeal.

Happy Birthday, Papa!
Tumblr media
Warning: Tooth rotting fluff.
Summary: It's Miguel’s birthday.
A/N: OMG IS HIS BIRTHDAY 🎉🎉🎉😭🎁
You knew that when Miguel was with his arms sprawled on the bed and his back faced you, he was deep asleep.
Sliding off the bed carefully, you went to Gabi's room and Benjamin's. Both with a It's Papa's birthday, you ready?
Benjamin was a little reluctant to wake up, but eventually he did. Sliding off his bed he went to the kitchen with you.
"Let's not make much noise ok? Let Papa sleep for a bit longer."
Benjamin smiled sleepily as he got to fetch his gift. Gabi on the other hand helped you with breakfast while Rosie was still asleep in her crib.
You made Miguel's favorite meal. Green  Chilaquiles for breakfast. One of the first things he cooked for you when you began dating. Gabi then started to wrap her present as you finished breakfast and brewed a special blend of coffee he adored.
Luckly, you had done a little cake, Gabi and Benjamin had decorated it. Gabi did the letters and Benji the little swirls of meringue.
In the motions, a few hours had gone by. He had had a rough week at work. Stress got him tired and even less talkative than usual. He was almost silent.
Five minutes before his alarm would go off, Benjamin, Gabriella and a now awake Rosie would enter your room when he was still asleep. You motioned for your children to come in as you put Baby Rosie on the bed, you then went to fetch his breakfast. His alarm went off.
Miguel rubbed his eyes and yawned, a bit surprised to see Rosie next to him instead of you.
"Happy Birthday to you~"
You started singing from the doorframe as you entered with a tray on hands, Gabi and Benji joined you with giggles.
"Happy birthday, dear Papa"
You put the tray on his nightstand to then kiss him. Benjamin scrunching his nose with a little 'ew'
"Happy birthday to you."
Rosie cooed at him as his children clapped and cheered him.
"I love you." You smirked and took Rosie off the bed, "All on Papa! Go go go!" The room was filled in with laughter and squeals as Gabi and Benji tried to tackle him down. A grin on his face.
There was a deep and sheepish yet genuine laugh coming from him. Sometimes he often felt like dreaming. Like he had been doused and high in dopamine. The family he sometimes fantasized wasn't a mere idea anymore.
It was very much real and his little children gave him so much joy, but they wouldn't exist without you. What he did to deserve you, he didn't know. But he knew that asking your forgiveness and rekindle things all those years ago had beyond worth it. Every day of his life spent with you and his children were the best gift someone could ever give him.
It filled his chest with something so overwhelmingly warm and peaceful. Like he always wanted.
"Look Papa! Got you something" Benjamin sat before him and handed a  small bundle he had wrapped himself.
"Gracias campeón. Let's see..." (Thanks, champ)
He unwrapped the little bundle carefully, revealing a little card you had helped Benjamin to write along a bag of a expensive coffee blend you had eyed him considering, but chose to buy the snacks for Gabi and Benji.
I love you, Papa :)
A little smiley face he had started drawing in every surface.
"You picked this too, champ?" Benji beamed at him and hugged him. Miguel kissed his head, "Gracias, gracias, gracias, Pequeñín. Me encanta. " (Thank you little one. I love it)
"Happy Birthday Papa" Gabi squeezed him and gave him a red paper bag decored with some of his favorite stuffs. Coffee mugs, lab tools, a little Lego figurine and spiders.
"Gracias Solecito" Gabi watched expectantly as he opened the gift. A pair of bunny slippers his size, and a customized little watch with a spider logo she often saw in his things.
"Got some of my allowance to get it customized for you." He kissed the top of her head and smiled sheepishly. He was overwhelmed, in the good sense of the word.
"Gracias, princesa. Imma wear it for work."
"This one is from Rosie" You pulled a little blue paperbag with a little card with her footprint on it next to a heart. He chuckled at the detail and opened the bag. A new pair of special sunglasses. His old ones fell when they got to another pool day.
They'd help with his photophobia. His arms reached for Rosie and kissed her forehead.
"Thank you, mi Rosita Fresita. I love it." He kissed repeatedly at her cheeks, earning him a bubbly giggle.
"And finally, my gift."
Miguel chuckled with a tiny smirk.
"That's for later, mi amor. But here."
You gave him a little black envelop and sat next to him.
"Remember when you told me about this astrophysics and research conference you wanted to go but you were kept in the waiting line?"
His eyes widened as his hands carefully pried the envelop open. An invitation with his name was written in golden serif caps.
"Mi amor... This.... You shouldn't have"
"Well, too bad cause you're going."
You kissed him with a reassuring smile.
"I've got this. Imma be fine."
"You must go, Pa" Gabi urged him. He couldn't say no to that. Or any of the love he was getting.
"Alright, alright. I will."
"Now, make a wish, cariño."
The little cake was the last straw. He blew the candles.
"Mordida! Mordida!" (Bite! Bite!)
Gabriella chanted and as Miguel bit, he got smeared in cake frosting. But this time he got his little revenge. He painted Gabi a bit of whiskers in her cheeks, a dollop on Benji's nose. He pressed a little tiny drop on Rosie's cheek and then pulled you to kiss him.
"Ew" Gabi and Benji spoke almost at unison as you were also smeared in cake frost and crumbles. The kiss even sweeter than before.
"Happy birthday cariño."
-----
You put Rosie in her crib for her nap and as soon as you got in your room, strong arms hugged you, cradling you closer. His frame nearly engulfing you.
"¿Estás bien?" (Are you ok?)
He said nothing but hugged you tighter. Your hands rubbed on his back soothingly. A deep breath warmed your shoulder.
"Thank you." When he broke the embrace you cupped his cheeks and he kissed one of your palms. Red eyes seized you in soft look only you were worthy to get. A look of unbridled love.
"Thanks for always making it better."
You beamed and you hugged his waist at his words.
"We're just giving back all the love you give us, corazón."
"I promise to make it-"
"Miguel. Mi amor. It's your day. Your day, big guy." You smooched and giggled, "Enjoy it."
He crushed you in his arms and you giggled in between squeals.
"Can I have my late present now?"
"Nu uh. We gotta get ready."
His brow raised in suspicion as you smirked
"Whatever for?"
"Another surprise. After that and when the kids are asleep? I'm all yours."
You kissed him once more before going to the door. His words stopped you.
"Mi reina?"
"Hm?"
He blew a kiss to you, earning a giggle.
"Te amo"
"También te amo, Papasito."
You blew the kiss back and went back to get Benjamin ready.
It was his birthday, and best one so far.

I'm wondering what Gabriella's reaction was when she saw her dad's new tattoo, which was made according to her drawing
Punk Dad!Miguel who waits outside Gabriella’s school to pick her up. He keeps the air conditioner on to make sure it’s nice and cool when she hops inside the car.
Punk Dad!Miguel who smiles and kneels on the ground with his arms out when he sees her tiny self running towards him—backpack flopping around and a large piece of paper in her hand.
Punk Dad!Miguel who squeezes her close to his chest, kissing her tuff of hair. “Cómo te fue?” He asks her, picking her up and placing her in the back seat.
“Bien!” She beams. Gabriella sticks out the piece of paper to him before he closes the door. “We made this in class today! For Fah-ders day!”
Punk Dad!Miguel that takes the paper from her chubby hands, taking a shot straight through the heart when he sees the terribly drawn set of flowers. But to him, she’s an artist! It runs in the family it seems!
‘Happy Father’s day!’ written on the bottom, letters varying from big to small, a little shaky because she’s still practicing. ‘From: Gabriella’ on the bottom with a smiley face.
Punk Dad!Miguel who struggles to not accidentally crumple the paper, his grip tight to keep himself from squeezing her until she pops.
“Gracias, mijita. It’s beautiful, just like you.”
Punk Dad!Miguel who barges in his brothers tattoo shop, Gabriel already rolling his head back and groaning.
“Gabi?” He asks. Miguel gives a silent nod and places Gabriella’s drawing down on the counter. Gabriel takes it and smiles.
“That’s adorable. Anything for my favorite niece. I have space for an hour.”
Punk Dad!Miguel that stayed home that day, allowing you to pick up your daughter from school: a plan to surprise her with the newly done tattoo.
Gabriella bursts through the door and makes a beeline to her father. “Papi! Mami said you have a surprise for me!” She jumps up and down, radiating excitement.
Punk Dad!Miguel who’s nervous. His daughter’s approval was one of the few things he cherished. “I loved your drawing so much, mami, that I wanted to keep it forever.” He slides down his hoodie to reveal a perfect replica of her drawing of a bouquet around his bicep. Gabriella gasps and holds onto his hand, his large one engulfing her two little ones.
“Oh my gosh!” She gushes. “That’s so cool! What!” She turns to face you. “Mami, mira!”
You giggle and sit beside Miguel. “I know, mama. Isn’t it pretty?”
She jumps up and down. “I want one! Can I get one? Can we match, papi? Please?!”
Punk Dad!Miguel that pinches her round cheek with a soft chuckle. “When you’re older, mija.”

PLEASE UPDATE IM BEGGING THIS IS MY BRAND NEW LIFE SOURCE RN
I'm gonna assume this is about Pink Pastels, and gladly give you what you're asking for👀
Pink Pastels Pt 6
Tumblr media
Description: It's time for Gabi's field trip, and wouldn't ya know, you and Miguel are in the same group.
Pt 7
Miguel’s never been a chaperone before. During Gabi’s Kindergarten field trip he was away on a business trip, but this time he made sure to be there, not just because Gabi’s class was going to the zoo, and she loves the zoo, but because of you.
There’s this need to protect you, like an itch beneath his skin. He can’t forget the look of fear on your beautiful face, or the way you clung so tightly to him, desperate and terrified. The crunch of that man’s bones beneath his fists, the fear that ran through your attacker as Miguel tore into him, talons and fangs covered in his blood, crimson drip, drip, dripping down to the pavement below, it was an almost ecstasy.
Your broken and discarded shoes are hidden in the back of his closet, along with your hairband. It’s pathetic, really, the makeshift shrine that’s beginning to form, and he knows that his actions could so easily borderline being creepy, but you’re his. He knows it. You’re meant to be together, and he’s simply showing his devotion.
“Papá, Papá, we’re here.” Gabi tugs on his shirt sleeve, her face lit up with pure, innocent excitement, and he resists the urge to crush her to his chest and never let her go.
“I see, where do you want to go first, Mija?” He asks, adjusting her baseball cap and making sure it’s snug on her head. He doesn’t want her face to get sunburned, but she hates the feeling of sunscreen, so they compromised.
“I want to see the hippos!” She says, bouncing in her seat as she turns to talk with her friends behind her, little, high-pitched voices discussing and debating which animals were the best.
“Mr. O’Hara, here’s your map, and safety packet. I trust you went over the info online ahead of time?” You hand him a manila envelope, smiling brightly at him.
Your hair is down today, the crown of your head covered by a white bucket hat, and you’re wearing jeans with a sage green T-shirt that reads SRE Field trip, in big white block letters. He’s wearing the same, everyone is, to ensure if a child is lost, they can be easily returned to their group.
He takes the packet from you, nodding. “Of course, can’t leave my chaperone partner to do all the heavy lifting.”
You laugh a little at that and continue down the bus aisle, handing out the remaining packets.
He lets Gabi pull him off the bus and is soon swarmed by five first-graders, each one a friend of Gabi’s—she makes friends so easily, something he can’t take credit for.
“Okay everyone has their groups, please stay with your chaperone, and your buddy, don’t go wandering off, and meet back here, at the entrance at three o’clock.” An older teacher says, before she gathers her own group and heads through the zoo gates.
You bend down to face the kids, an excited smile on your face. “Alright, what animal are we seeing first?”
“Hippo!”
“Lion!”
“Monkeys!”
“Seals!”
A chorus of answers rings out, and you turn to Miguel. “Mr. O’Hara? Do you have any suggestions?”
You look so pretty, the sun shining down on you, the casual outfit, the way you tap your finger against your lips in thought, clearly putting on a show for the kids. If he ignores all the others and focuses on only you and Gabi, he can almost imagine this is a family outing, not a field trip.
“Last time I was here, they had snow leopards?” He feigns ignorance, but when your face lights up, he feels that intoxicating shot of dopamine.
Snow leopards are your favorite animal, the one you’ve voiced your desire to go see many times while in the school’s teacher’s lounge. One which has cameras, that Miguel has access to. Obviously.
“They still do, they’re my favorites.” You confirm what he already knows, and the children immediately change their answer to match yours.
“Why don’t we go there first, then if the kids see any animals, they want to visit on the way there we’ll see them afterwards?” He suggests, still acting oh so innocent.
“What do we think? Everyone agrees with Mr. O’Hara?” You ask the children, straightening up and throwing him a smile when they all agree to his plan.
Miguel stands back behind you and the children, watching as you join them up at the glass, helping them read out the informational signs, and marveling over the big cats.
The environment set up for the leopards is lush, full of greenery and stone. Perches and outcroppings meant to mimic their homelands, and mounds of snow that they seem to disappear into, reappearing with a flash, causing Gabi and her friends to jump back in surprise then burst into giggles.
You soon join him, your arms tucked behind your back as you watch your students. “I think this is one of my favorite days of the year. I know it’s stressful, and tiring but seeing how excited they all are, just really makes me happy.”
“Gabi loves the zoo, we come here every year on her birthday.” He tells you, desperate to include you in their life, if only through shared pieces of personal information. “I’ve got all the photos in my office, my coworkers’ joke that by the time I retire I’ll have half my office wall covered.”
“I used to go to the aquarium when I was a kid, there’s something about standing underneath those giant tanks, with the way the light plays through the water—it’s breathtaking.”
You’re breathtaking. He wants to say, but he doesn’t. Instead, he says, “I know the feeling.”
You smile shyly at him, and for a moment he’s back on the side of your building, watching you through your window. He didn’t intend to be there, to watch you, he only wanted to ensure you were okay. You were fast asleep, hair askew, in a soft looking oversized t-shirt, the moonlight dancing across your peaceful face.
He couldn’t tear himself away, enraptured by the sight.
You let out a huff, and in his peripheral, he spies the name on your phone. Todd.
He hates Todd.
“Everything okay?” He asks carefully, his eyes on Gabi.
“Yes, sorry, just some personal issues, nothing serious.” You say quickly, sliding your phone into your pocket.
“Ms. Y/N, can we go see the hippos now?” One of Gabi’s friends, Emma, comes up to you, looking up at you with big blue eyes, her hand tugging at your shirt.
“Is that what everyone else wants to see?” You ask, gaze sweeping over the other children.
“Yes.” Emma says confidently, running off in the direction of the large animals, Gabi following closely behind.
“Girls!” You call out, looking from them to the others.
“Go, I’ll bring the others.” He reassures you.
You take off after them, and he gathers the remaining four children, who huddle around him like ducklings.
“Is Ms. Y/N mad? She looked mad.” One of the little boys—Tony, named after the Avenger or a family member, Miguel isn’t sure—asks him, chewing on his bottom lip.
This is that Tony, Gabi’s told him about this boy, how he’s very nice, and funny, but gets scared easily. She likes him, maybe not in a way she yet understands, or that Miguel is ready for, but if his baby girl has to have a crush on anyone, an easily scared little boy isn’t the worst.
“She’s probably mad at her dumbass boyfriend.” Dahlia, a girl he can tell is from the Bronx by her thick accent, speaks up, and it’s all he can do to keep from laughing at the scandalized look on Tony’s face.
“Don’t tell Ms. Y/N I said a bad word, but that’s what I’ve heard Ms. Melissa call him.” She says quietly when she sees Tony’s face.
“I won’t tell if you won’t.” He promises.
“Gabi’s right, you are the coolest.” Dahlia says, grabbing his hand and swinging it back and forth as they walked.
The coolest? He wanted to run ahead and scoop his daughter into his arms, she thought he was the coolest.

The life after war was almost like the life before. Peaceful and quiet. You were eighteen when the titans attacked for the first time, twenty-three when everything stopped. You're now in your mid-twenties, working as a caretaker for veterans in a nursing home specified for the military, trying to help both; Marley's and Eldian's. The prejudice still cutting a line between the two nations, but it's obviously gotten better.
You were taking care of an invalid woman, when a man with blonde hair and sky-blue eyes approached you. He wore a military uniform and had a warm smile on his young-looking face. You're not surprised to see military people on a daily basis, after all you work for them. Being approached by a high ranked one was different though.
"My name is Armin Arlert. You must be Miss (Y/L/N), correct?" You nodded your head, not daring to leave the woman's side.
"Good, you've been recommended to me by your supervisor Mrs. Mayer. I'd be happy to announce that you will be deported to personal caretaking by next week." Gulping, you looked at him with surprise.
"Personal caretaking? May I ask who my patient will be?" You asked out of curiosity. Armin only smiled, a sad one, and shook his head.
"This will be discussed further next week. I'll join you to meet him. Mrs. Meyer will let you know more about the exact date and location. It was nice to meet you."
The whole situation left you nervous the following days and it wasn't until you sat in an automobile (for the first time in your life) on your way to Marley that you relaxed a little bit.
Looking at Commander Armin with a raised brow, you brush over your skirt, flattening it.
"Captain Levi Ackerman? Isn't he humanities strongest-" you get interrupted by his sorrowful voice.
"He was humanity's strongest." He explains quickly, glancing out of the window in a haze.
"Two former Marley warriors take care of him now. It wasn't a problem until recently though. He got more-" he trails off looking for the right words.
"He needs someone experienced in the field." Mrs. Mayer suggests, looking at you with a meaningful gaze.
"Yes." Armin breaths, the sadness not leaving him.
"The kids are great. But they wrote me a letter a while ago. Explaining that they've reached their limits with him." Swallowing you nod your head, understanding the situation.
"How bad is his condition." You dare to ask, but this time you look at your supervisor, not wanting to pressure the Commander.
"I was told by our former Commander Hange Zoë that Levi was caught in an explosion, losing sight of his right eye and two of his fingers on his right hand. While we fought against Eren, he saved one of us. Unfortunately, a titan damaged his leg permanently, leaving him basically wheelchaired." He explains and you can't help but to notice that he is a bit hesitant.
"Anything else I need to know?" You try to be polite, hoping to not come across as rude.
"His mental condition is a bit-" Now that even your supervisor Mrs. Mayer struggles to find the right words to describe the Captain’s situation, you can't help but to feel a bit scared again.
"He's overwhelmed with the fact that he is dependent on someone else. The Captain has always been a bit grumpy and mean but recently he's been depressed, making Gabi and Falco unable to help him." You form your lips into an "o" form, seeing the situation in another light now.
"I understand. I'll make sure to keep that in mind." You promise, smiling at Commander Armin with reassurance.
Armin knocks at the fine wooden door, his posture anything but relaxed. Hearing footsteps emerging you straighten your posture and patiently wait for the person behind the door to open it. In front of the three of you appears a girl in her teens with brown hair and eyes, a tired expression on her young features.
"Commander." She greets, a small smile appears on her thin lips.
"Gabi." He softly smiles back, allowing himself into the suburban house. You follow him, running your eyes around the small entry hall. Everything appears to be clean, no sign of dust or clutter.
"Thank God you are here." She whispers, eying you and Mrs. Mayer with hope.
"I swear Commander he is-" A raspy voice coming from one of the rooms breaks her hushed tone, making her noticeably shudder.
"Who is this Gabi? Who are you talking to?" For a moment Armin closes his eyes, letting out a heavy breath.
"It's just me, Captain Levi." The blonde walks straight up to the room where the grumpy voice came from, making you follow him hesitantly. Your body is tense, as you nervously appear in the door frame, right behind the Commander. In the middle of the living room is a man, his rather small body placed in a wheelchair. 'This is him.' You think and meet his eyes, your lips turning upwards into a polite smile.
"Who's your company?" Levi asks in clear disinterest, eyeing you with suspicion.
"This is Miss (Y/L/N) and her supervisor Mrs. Mayer. Miss (Y/L/N) works for the care-program. I ordered her here to-" the low chuckle of the former Captain makes Armin stop, eyes wide with fear. Seeing the Commander's reaction to a former soldier's laugh, makes you wonder how the Captain treated his companions back in the day.
"Let me guess. She's here to take care of me, isn't she?" Levi asks, mockingly gesturing at you.
"Well- yes." Armin scratches the back of his head, grinning uncomfortably.
"Then that's a no." Levi decides with confidence, crossing his arms with a pout. You didn't know that the Captain wasn't aware of you coming, making you feel awkward and like an intruder in his home. Getting a grip of himself, Armin Arlert gives him an annoyed look.
"This was an order. Not a suggestion." At this Levi expression turns sour, bitter.
"You singing high tones now, Arlert? Remember who saved your burned ass a few years ago." The unbearable tension makes you feel sick to the stomach, and you shift around, trying to make yourself more comfortable.
"I'm aware and grateful, Captain. But Gabi und Falco are no longer able to tend to your needs." Levi's good eye moves to the brown-haired girl, giving her the 'you'll regret that' look. Gabi looks to the ground in shame, a nervous grin plastered on her face.
"Oh! And I'm sure she can tend to my needs then." He speaks, arrogance directed at both you and Armin.
"She's good in her field Captain Levi-"
"Damn it, stop calling me Captain, Arlert."
"-She will help you clean and cook. Miss (Y/L/N), don't you want to introduce yourself." All eyes land on you, like a deer caught up in headlights.
"Good morning Mr. Ackerman. My name is (Y/N) (YL//N) and I'd be honored to help you around your home whenever needed." You try to hold your nervous smile upward while he looks at you with judgment.
"So, you're a housemaid?" Being caught off guard for a second, your supervisor comes to your rescue.
"No. She is a trained caretaker and has a great range of medical and pharmaceutical knowledge. She's better than your ordinary maid Mr. Ackerman." Your cheeks redden as his steel-colored orbs lands on you again, observing you.
"Fine. She can stay and assist Gabi and Falco." At that Armin let's out a noticeable sight, the soft smile returning on his rosy cheeks.
"Happy to have found an agreement Captain-"
"Only Levi."
"-Levi."
The first week has been nothing but horrible. You can see why the kids are clearly overwhelmed with situation, your help only smoothing it a little. Levi Ackerman has been rude and cold towards you, snarky remarks and dark jokes following you around the house. He seems to be born with a natural authority and insomnia. In this entire week you have only seen him sleep once. You even thought that he was dead, his body crouched down on his wheelchair, his chest flatly falling and rising.
"Should we bring him to his room?" You whispered to Falco who only shook his head.
"No. He never sleeps in there."
The next thing you noticed was his obsession with cleanliness; everything had to be perfectly neat. It was your main duty, cleaning, doing the laundry and ironing it after. Everything had to be up to his standards, and they were high. He took joy in cleaning too though, trying his best every day. You noticed that he trained a lot too, using a cane instead of a wheelchair or (trying) doing pushups. Other days he would only lay on his bed not doing anything but stare on the blank wall. It was then you realized that Levi mentally still relieves the war, that he is traumatized.
Right now you prepare the breakfast table for tomorrow, putting clean china on the round wood. Falco and Gabi are already fast asleep, exhausted from school and tending to Captain Levi. He only lets the kids help him, not letting you near him in any way. You already wrote Mrs. Mayer a letter, explaining your current situation. Her answer was quick and disappointing. "Keep up. You managed worse." Levi was right, you are nothing more than a maid in this household. So you wrote Commander Armin next, only receiving the same answer.
"Oi, brat." A harsh voice breaks your thoughts making you look to Mr. Ackerman. He leans against his cane for support, his usual bored expression covering his true emotions.
"A little help would be nice." He gestures at his tea can, his struggling obvious. You feel embarrassed that you were too deep in thoughts to notice him. You mumble a quick apology, rushing to his side. By now you know how he likes his black tea; the water shouldn't boil anymore, and the tea shouldn't brew for too long. The two of you stay beside each other in silence, preparing everything for his tea. After it is ready to stir, you notice his cold stare on your form, his steel-colored eye catches yours. His other one appears to be milky, a scar tearing his fine skin.
"Could you do me a favor?" The question catches you off guard and you wonder if there might be a catch.
"Of course." You decide on a simple answer, awaiting his favor patiently.
"My knee has been hurting like shit lately. Could you-" he rasps, avoiding your gaze.
"Could you give me a massage?" Surprised you smile at him, finally feeling appreciated as a caretaker and not a housewife by him.
"Of course, Mr. Ackerman." You joyfully reply, offering him to take a seat at the dining table.
You carefully move his leg up, placing it on your lap.
"Is the pain constant? Or random at times?" You question, placing your palm carefully on his hurting knee.
"Random. I can tell that the muscles are affected most of the time though. They never fully healed." You move your hand over his hurt muscles, a small groan escaping him in the process. He fletches his teeth, pained face looking at you accusingly.
"Sorry." You breathe out, stopping your movement instantly.
"I don't really know where to massage it. With your leg being covered, you know?" You explain carefully, hoping he understands. Levi rolls his eyes and after a few seconds starts to fiddle with his belt and pants. Being used to nudity, you don't particularly feel uncomfortable, only seeing this situation as a matter of treating your patient well and so does Levi.
"Alright. Can't have you destroy it even more." He simply comments and pulls his pants down, neatly picking it up from the floor to fold it. Perfectionism. He simply rests his leg back on your lap, allowing you to continue. Scars line up his skin and you notice that it appears to be a bit deformed. No wonder he is in pain while walking with a cane. Your eyes follow your movements, your fingers carefully brushing over his scars. They've healed nicely. When your hands slowly start to knead his muscles, sounds escape him that make your cheeks flush. You look up, noticing how his body relaxes against the chair, eyes squeezed shut.
"Hm. You're not bad at this." He admits, body relaxing under your touch, while you give him a small smile.
"It's my job Mr. Ackerman." At that he only clicks his tongue, opening his eyes to meet yours. Though they might seem emotionless, there clearly is more behind them.
"You could do your job more often then." Biting your tongue, you try not to reply something rude.
"If that would please you." A cold smile tugged on your lip, you continue your wonders, making him lean back even more. You notice that the muscles on his tights seem sore too and you slowly make your way up his knee. He blinks at you, eyes dark and wide. If he's bothered, he doesn't let you know, observing your every touch. His skin, warm and soft, feels quite nice against your hands and you can tell that he takes good care of his body. After another minute you pause, relaxing your fingers a little.
"Can you do that to my back too?"
Days later you have found quite the nice routine: wake up, prepare breakfast, go to the market, clean, prepare lunch, clean, read, prepare dinner, clean, give Levi a massage and go to sleep. With him everything is about cleaning. Today you started to take notice of his changing behavior. He's not as tense anymore, keeps you company at the market and started to meet old comrades again. Happy about this, you smile, while your fingers dance over his back. For the first time since your arrival, he decided to occupy his bed, making you sit at his side, right at his laying form. His eyes are partly closed, cloudy orbs looking at you with interest.
"You look pretty." He whispers, his words catching you by surprise. You stop, giving him a shocked look.
"What?" The whisper barely leaves your lips and you're surprised that he heard you in the first place.
"You heard me." He states, closing his eyes again, like nothing just happened.
"Thank you. You look pretty too." You can't help but to smile, relaxing your fingers at his bare skin.
"Don't mock me." He groans, his muscles flexing under your touch.
"I'm not." It's true, to you he looks beautiful. His hair feels like silk, his skin so soft and pure. The scars do nothing to his flawless looks.
"Whatever." Levi noticeably flinches, his gaze on his hand with the missing fingers. His condition truly is pitiful, so much Armin Arlert talked to you about it with a lowered head.
"He was humanity's strongest." He told you, his small smile falling from his lips.
"I was told by our Commander Hange Zoë that Levi was caught in an explosion, losing sight of his right eye and two of his fingers on his right hand. While we fought against Eren, he saved one of us. Unfortunately, a titan damaged his leg permanently, leaving him basically wheel chaired."
You knew what was coming from the beginning, you knew about his disabilities, but they never bothered you. In fact, his personality was more off putting than his wounds. Though, things got better between the two of you and you feel more comfortable in his imitating presence. You don't dare to speak, giving him time and enough room to relax in your presence. While your thoughts swing unresolved in your head, your hands seemingly move on their own gently brushing down his spine and back up to his head. A soft purre escapes his lips, ripping you from your own world. His grey eyes are looking back up at you, heavy breathes tingling your hand.
"Tease." He whispers, leaning into your touch, making you shrink back, surprised at his reaction.
"You are so perfect, aren't you?" Levi's tone is mocking, the expression on his cracked porcelain face void of any emotion.
"Always in those clean, ironed dresses. You make perfect tea, and you are clean. Pretty too, you have magical hands." He appears to be in a trance, glaring at you with hunger.
"Armin must have send you to seduce me, didn’t he? To keep me nice and quiet."
'Great' you think 'he's suspicious of me.' He slowly retreats his body from the back, turning into a sitting position.
"He did not. Commander Armin has only your best health in interest." At least that's what he told you, what you believe in. Levi mutters a disapproving "Tsk." under his breath and catches your chin in between the fingers of his left hand. Your heart jumps at the touch, beating against your rib cage rapidly.
"Are you here to please me?" It's not the first time that he caught you off guard and certainly won't be last, but this question almost seems sad, desperate even.
"Please you? I'm here to take care of you Sir." You state, not moving in his grasp.
"Taking care, hm? What would you do to make me feel better?" His body closes in, his warmth and scent making you feel dizzy.
"Everything you are in need of." You stutter, harshly closing your lids, as his fingers brush over your lips. Butterflies tingle your gut, making you wonder if it is the sudden adrenaline or something more intense.
"You know it's been a while since I had a woman touch me that way. And while it did its medical wonders, it did wake something inside of me that I buried a long time ago." You whimper, fingers squeezing your chin.
"Many soldiers and warriors did so. Armin most likely too. He of all people would know the desperation of a touch starved man." You open your eyes, as his hands move to the collar of your dress, pulling you flatly against him. He appears to be more aggressive now, his eyes blown wide with madness.
"I am sorry for giving you the assumption of seducing you Sir. But I'm only here to do my duty, which is taking care of war veterans." You quietly murmur, gripping his wrists for support. You don't like the way he mistreats you; abusing the power he has a former Captain. He doesn't seem to care about your words, only glaring at you.
"You don't fool me." Levi shakes his head, voice raspy as he observes you.
"You are like one of those poisonous plants I found outside of the walls on Paradis. Your petals are beautiful." He leans in more, lips barely touching yours. Closing your eyes again, you try to enjoy his closeness, his touch and new behavior. Your hurt nearly breaks through your chest, after it stopped beating just moments ago when his lips brushed yours.
"But your touch and silver tongue are oh so toxic." He whispers, softly nibbling at your lip, his hands still clawing at you.
"I'll give you something to write to Armin and your supervisor about." He knows that you exchanged letters with them, which made Jim probably even more suspicious about you. That and his body's reaction to you. While you do understand his confusion with the situation, you are way too overwhelmed to think about it now.
His lips catch yours in an hungry attack, while his hands roam from your collar to the buttons of your dress, ripping them open. Being exposed to him and the cool air leaves you in shock and you awkwardly push him away from you.
"Wait." You begg, holding his flexed arms in a tight grip.
"This is not right Mr. Ackerman. Please believe me, I have no interest in seducing you, no-" A moan escapes you as his hand squeezes your breast, while his mouth moves closes around the nipple of your other one. Your faces takes the color of cherries and your rapid breath is concerning to you. Levi plays you like an instrument, making your lips leave sounds you didn't know you were able to make.
"Torture, isn't it? It's how I've felt ever since you barged into my life." He comments, teasingly returning to suck and bite on your sensitive skin, while he leads your body down onto the soft sheets. You move underneath him, giving in to your foolish desires.
He struggles to undress the both of you, his right hand barely able to do so. His frustration is obvious, which is why you decide to take matters into your own hands. Your legs around his hips, you turn the two of you, placing yourself over him. He seems surprised, blinking at you with astonishment.
"Let me take care of you." You whisper at his ear, softly nibbling at his neck. Groaning, he nods his head in appreciation, letting you take the lead. You carefully open his dress shirt, revealing his defined chest and stomach. Muscles and scars litter his pale, creamy skin and you can't help yourself but to trace the dips of your fingers over it.
The sudden sensation makes your heartbeat even faster. "You make me feel dizzy." You admit, staring deeply into his eyes, as if hypnotizing him. His gaze turns distant, as if lost in thought. The expression of longing on his face causes a lump to form in your throat. He leans forward and brushes the hair out of your face, while his eyes travel back up to meet yours. His kiss is slow and passionate. Your tongue meets his, exploring every inch of his mouth. His hands roam all over your back, as he caresses your curves. The sound of fabric tearing fills the air and you pull away slightly, noticing how he roughly freed you from your clothes.
You gasp for breath, looking down at your naked bodies. His dark eyes are full of passion while you wonder what he is thinking, while the heat rises between you. The desire inside your belly intensifies, making the need to be closer to him grow. You want to touch every part of him, to feel him.  He is hard under your fingertips and a small whimper escapes your mouth at the feeling. Levi's eyes narrow at your actions, making him press his lips against your neck, sucking and biting it. The noises coming from you only intensify, as you grind against him. His hands slowly lower to your hips, guiding you down onto him. The friction of your heated skin against each other sends chills through your spine and a low groan escapes your mouth. The moment you enter him feels like heaven. A deep sigh follows after, while his hands find their way into your hair, pulling gently.  You move your hips in synchronicity, making the friction burn hotter. Both of you are breathing heavily now and you feel yourself thrive in the heated pleasure. Levi's eyes are still locked with yours, as if in trance. His breathing accelerates to match yours and soon you are moving together again, until he grabs your hips once again, pushing himself upwards into you.  Another moan slips out of your mouth and your knees shake. You lean forward, resting your head on his shoulder, while he continues to thrust into you, faster and harder each time. He pulls at your hair and nips at your collarbone while moaning. He took the lead from you quickly, grinding rapidly against you. You relax on his chest, letting him snap his hips upwards.
Every well angled push drives you closer to your device bliss and you can tell that Levi is close too. His thrusts get sloppier, and his little whines turn louder. Your ecstasy hits you first, and you grip on him hard, seeing soft stars. Slicing his member out of you, you feel a warm liquid squirting onto your lower belly. His eyes are closed, his breath hot and heavy, while droplets of sweat run down the side of his head. You too feel all hot and bothered, rolling yourself off him onto your back. You notice him gazing at you through his lashes, a satisfied smile on his lips.
"That was-" you start, not finding the right word to describe your shared experience. Levi grabs for a cloth he fetched out of the pocket of his pants and carefully collects the white, liquidly strings on your belly with it.
"You could certainly take care of me that way more often." He teases, placing a small kiss on your forehead. You grin, like a naive girl and nod your head in agreement.
"Certainly Sir."
"Please. Call me Levi."

Okay but I genuinely loved how many funny moments were in the final episode. Like it gave me a season 1 vibe. And yeah some were probably not intended to be funny but kinda were anyways
Annie coming to save them on Falco and being like Mikasa you're in the way and then being like "Where's Armin- I mean Pieck?", like girl you're not fooling anyone with this
Also the way she just shrugged at the fact Falco can literally fly like "I didn't think he'd be able to fly either 🤷‍♂️"
The whole okapi bit??? Mikasa believes that she's doing a good job explaining the titan to Annie. And the whole WTF IS OKAPI??? And then after she learned it, she was just screaming the name the whole time. Like she was screaming the same way Levi screamed Kenny's name. Big TIL moment for her
Butt-naked Zeke waving at Levi and being like "I know you want to see me but I don't want to see you" and after finally realizing how meaningful life is, immediately being decapitated??? Lmao
Pieck Ghibli-style running down the Warhammer spear
Falco going for a hug and Gabi suplexing him in the background and the change in her eyes the moment before
Levi's reaction to a lollipop???
All the jokes on the ship? Reiner sniffing the letter, the horse joke, Jean being like "I wish you died bro" to Reiner?? Armin having an important monologue and Annie is like "but I'm a military police" and Armin just straight up IGNORS HER LMAO
