My new favorite unemployed activity is getting on a random bus and riding it for a full loop around the city. It's free if you flash the driver your student ID (thank goodness they don't make you scan it, because mine expired 5 years ago), and it's an easy way to pass an hour without frying my brain on my phone or laptop. I bring a book, and I can usually get through 40 or 50 pages before coming back around to my original stop. I haven't tried a double loop yet because I'm sure the bus driver would become suspicious.

God, I need a job...

5 year dog plan updates: I think I've identified a breed (and 3 potential breeders), I have more clearly figured out what I don't want and what my life style will not fit and most important I need more experience with dogs in general

#so over a year ago i started doing research on owner training a service dog and i was in contact with a GSD breeder who had a puppy left #over from their last litter who was very hamdler engaged (this obviously fell through because i realized i was just too short on time before #uni and now knowing more about temperaments and genetics i wouldn't go gsd but this was a great breeder) #with what i know know i a) do not want a herding breed it would be incredibly overwhelming and b) would prefer a medium sized dog (if i find #a poodle or lab breeder I'm obsessed with I'd still go that route unfortunately my fav poodle breeder with multi sd's in their line/ #offspring is in Arizona and that's basically a no go #my favourite dogs are mid sized gun dogs which do not make good prospects (see the stinky girl in her window bird watching rn) i also have #tons of experience with a Brittany spaniel and know my personal dream dog is very similar (slightly lower energy and prey drive) which puts #show-line English springer spaniels as the breed I'd be happy with and while they do great as police sniffer dogs and therapy dogs there #aren't tons as service dogs because they can be too high energy and unfocused (i know that their energy would not be a big issue if we #create good settling habits) and i really appreciate them being soft mouthed for certain tasks and my apartment is very close to tons of #river paths so we are good for breed specific enrichment and fun #i just really want more dog sitting experience and to sit in on training sessions with other people over the next few years #because I've stalked ess breeder who is so transparent and has tons of show experience and does incredible socialization #they would also just be really good people to talk to about the breed #i just there are reasons the popular breeds are popular but i find herding dogs incredibly overwhelming and labs and goldens put everything #in their mouths and end up sick from it (I've also mcas reactions after petting all the goldens in my neighborhood) #and poodles are smarter than me and i am a low maintenance grooming girl (i could handle shave done with poms though) #i have no poodle experience outside badly bred Doodles #of popular breeds the one I'd work best with is a bernese mountain dog but they are a grooming challenge and I'm going to live in a smallish #apartment and exclusively use public transit (the fab 3 would also struggle a bit with this since they are mid-large(

#not having a great time today after my mom commented on my interests #i'm a person that is interested in shit i don't know this is why i'm very likely to follow disabled youtubers #in my time i have watched molly burke. multiplicityandme and a collection of autistic youtubers (guess why lol) #and my mom made a quite patronizing comment about how i ''take on causes'' by learning about stuff #and/or supporting fun and interesting youtube channels #but anyways it sucks even more because on her comment she made it clear (once again) that she doesn't believe me when i say #i might be autistic. and it fucking sucks! #because when i first talked to her about it even I didn't know much about it. i was just starting to do my research #and i was trying to make sense of things still but she dismissed it #but now that i do know more and things do make more sense #i can't even bring it up because the fact that i have been watching a lot of youtubers talk about autism will make her think #i'm just trying to be like them... which is stupid #but it's also the reason i didn't tell her that my best friend in my teens was trans. because i was trying to figure shit out myself #and telling her he was trans and then a bit later that i am as well was going to make her go ''everyone's trans now blah blah'' #and dismiss that as well... but now i'm trapped in the same thing about autism lol #and her stupid loophole of a dismissal isn't just by saying ''no you're not autistic'' it's saying this like ''well MAAAAYBE you COULD be #but that doesn't mean anything and it doesn't matter and why would you want a diagnosis if it's not gonna change anything'' #same thing as her whole ''sure you're a man but why do you have to look and act differently? YOU know who YOU are #who cares what others think?'' in a don't transition way #like that's so stupid! #dkfjhkdfhkdfg #i'm angry and i feel trapped #i have figured out a little bit ago that i don't stim near as enough as i need to BECAUSE i live in the same house as her #and the idea of ear defenders and other stuff like that is very appealing but i can't do that while she's around to judge #and IN PUBLIC?! that's unthinkable!! #i still remember the time she threatened with not going out with me (to the supermarket) because I commited the huge crime of #buttoning the top button of my button up shirt.... #that's it. that was the whole reason.. she thought i looked ridiculous and she didn't want to be seen with me... #imagine if i wear ear defenders out... #not gonna risk it lol

Man public transit is wild, I just had a lady sit next to me and ask if I could buy her beer cuz she left her ID at home. I couldn’t, left my ID at home too, but she sat down next to me and started to talk to me as she was eating a candy bar.

She was a sweet older woman, eventually she looked at me and asked, “honey, do I stink?” To which I responded, “well all I can smell right now is that snickers bar.”

She laughed and thanked me for making her laugh.

It was an odd interaction but it’s always good to make someone’s day.

#ramblings of a lunatic #WE DON'T LIKE STAYING INDOORS ON SCREENS ALL DAY EVERYDAY ITS NOT FUN IT DOESN'T FEEL GOOD #yes there are exceptions and yes we like to do it more than previous generations but by god if it doesn't take a toll on your mental health #AND WE KNOW THIS BTW. WE'RE COMPLETELY FUCKING AWARE OF THIS FACY #*fact #but it's like. there's such a lack of options sometimes #like for example- i live in a pretty small town. walkable but not without some effort #there's no shopping centre (mall for americans) and maybe 3 parks (one of which is up a hill on the far side of town) #there are community centers but they're underfunded and don't cater to teens- especially not as casual hangout spaces #so like. unless you corall all your friends into one persons house (me and my friends generally go out in a group of 8-10 ppl- #-so while going to one persons house is doable it's not the most convenient and again this a small town. lots of the houses are small too) #or are willing to hangout at a park (a place where there's generally going to be young children and their parents- #-which isn't a deal-breaker by any means but can make kids feel like intrusions or even be perceived as sketchy) #(this is generally what me and my friends have to come to terms with everytime we hangout since we usually do it in the park) #then like. where the hell do you go?? yknow?????? #also plenty of my friends live in rural areas where it's a 20 or 30 minute drive into town and only one of us has his license #all this to say #I'd really love to see some statistics on what the hangout habits of kids from different living areas is like #because i have a feeling that kids who grow up in big relatively walkable cities with public transit and nice hangout spots #are getting out of the house a lot more often than a bunch of lower and middle class teens scattered across rural country spaces- #-and a town with little to no space for them to just exist without doing some kind of activity to justify their presence #this isn't even touching on helicopter parenting that prevents kids from being independent #anyway yeah i wish i was not on my phone so much i enjoy life better when I'm not on it but. god does not love me so <3
