My parents are redoing the bathrooms in the house I grew up in, which was built in the late 30's and last redone in the late 70s, afaik. this tiny blue floral wall paper has been there my entire life, with matching curtains.

Man public transit is wild, I just had a lady sit next to me and ask if I could buy her beer cuz she left her ID at home. I couldn’t, left my ID at home too, but she sat down next to me and started to talk to me as she was eating a candy bar.

She was a sweet older woman, eventually she looked at me and asked, “honey, do I stink?” To which I responded, “well all I can smell right now is that snickers bar.”

She laughed and thanked me for making her laugh.

It was an odd interaction but it’s always good to make someone’s day.

I went to Jackson, GA today and went on a stranger things tour it was so cool to be able to stand and see the spots they have been in through out the show.

I had an amazing time

Our tour guide was an Eddie cosplayer and she was soo nice : )

It was just so fun if you get the chance you should do it !

I got to see the Library, the movie theater, the church, the radio shack, and the general store where Joyce works !

I also got to see the alley way where Steve and Jonathan fight lol

I bought a house today!

This was not on my radar at all last year. I was perfectly happy to continue renting my cute little apartment exactly where I want to live. However, I got word a couple of months ago that it was going to be sold.

With a lot of help from family, I now own my apartment and the one downstairs.

I did not ask to be a landlord! But here I am.

I think it's going to be the right decision long term. There are a lot of reasons I like not just this neighborhood but this particular street and this house with azaleas and moss in the front yard and light filtered through maple branches coming in the window.

It's a historic Philadelphia area brick row house that's almost a hundred years old and it's going to need some serious maintenance done. I've got a lot of mixed feelings about that, because I was already pretty busy, but also this is the kind of project that I can potentially really enjoy, and I feel like someone who cares about this house should be in a position to make maintenance decisions, and I really do care and the investment group who sold it to me as far as I can tell did not.

It's smack in the middle of a long row, and it needs to be taken care of because when the structural integrity of one row house fails, the houses on either side are threatened. This house is currently the weakest link in a well kept row but it's not about to fall down or anything. I think a slow and steady pace on the repairs is going to be fine here.

It's going to cost money, but I am no longer paying rent! That did kind of feel like throwing money into a bottomless pit. The new set of expenses that come with owning the place feel much more concrete and productive.

Also I can do whatever I want aesthetically now, which means I have already started drawing on the walls. Eventually this is going to be a much more colorful place!

Weight of a Feather, Assassin's Creed: Origins fanart, watercolour and acrylic gouache on hot press paper, 17.8 x 25.4 cm

This is one of those that I don't care if no one likes it, or if there are obvious mistakes/things that don't make sense, I'm proud of myself for managing to do it traditionally and that's that. It's for no one but me, I'm just sharing it with you :)

I started it in 2021, even began to paint it, but burnout is a bitch and I couldn't finish it then. Recently I decided to see if I could complete it traditionally and this is the result! It was inspired by a screenshot I took where Bayek's face is entirely in shadow. I then added elements that relate to Ma'at, the goddess of truth and justice, and the ceremony of the Weighing of the Heart, where she'd weigh a dead person's heart against her ostrich feather, to see if they were worthy of going on to the Field of Reeds (a sort of paradise). (Egyptologists don't @ me 😭)
