me when people say anakin was already basically darth vader or even an adult in the clone wars when he was LITERALLY NINETEEN when the clone wars started?? wdym he's an adult?? like maybe legally but he's in his freshman year of college?? he doesn't even know how to open a credit card yet? hes not allowed to live off-campus?
and ahsoka was FOURTEEN. Babies. Babies raising babies.
Yoda will truly NEVER have my forgiveness for making anakin train a baby in the middle of the war when the WHOLE COUNCIL agreed he was too young to be an actual master.
like, honestly, EVERYONE should have seen this coming.
the idea that Anakin popped out evil randomly that exists in the fandom is so crazy to me?
like. took this massively powerful kid and stuck him in the frontlines instead of, yk. making him take extra meditative classes in the temple or hang out in a library or something?
BUT, and I wish this went without saying, this is ALSO not Obi-Wan's fault?? He was a baby when they pushed Anakin on HIM. He was like early 20s at the absolute oldest. Yoda and Qui-Gon are bastards like no shit he didnt give Anakin all the fundamentals. THEY DIDNT FINISH TRAINING OBI-WAN EITHER??
Me and the Jedi Order have beef. If the Altisian Jedi have raised Anakin he would have been a normal fella.

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones - (3/?)
Star Wars + Text Posts & Headlines
Note from OP:
I'm retracting the Mace Windu meme from this post ("I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy/I would. Pussy.”)
This was posted 2 months ago and has been shared quite a bit, so I suppose it's too late, but still I regret creating and sharing that one so the best I can do is add this to the original post.
I've realized that when I made that one
I was projecting the personalities of some of Samuel L. Jackson's other famous characters onto Mace Windu, and
Not only was it not accurate to his character, but it was veering into the "Angry Black Person" stereotype/trope.
I hate the idea of perpetuating racist stereotypes in stuff I make, and goodness knows there's enough racism and stereotypes in Star Wars as it is, and in the structural racism of our society (which I benefit from as a white person.)
Here’s a really good post I saw a few days ago, discussing Mace Windu’s character in the fandom, I highly recommend it:
Also, here's a great article I highly recommend, discussing race and stereotypes in Star Wars

The Jedi Order mainly being an institution about teaching makes me sad that we never see more "Jedi classes" outside of the popular ones like martial arts, healthcare and Force wackery.
Alongside basic language and science education etc there have to be at least some trade and college courses on offer, right? The Jedi need a bunch of their own people with law degrees. Proper pedagogy studies for future crèchemasters. Cooks. Managers. All types of engineers. Electricians. Accountants. Researchers. How many Jedi hold a doctorate or professorate? Because I think a large number of them do. Their databanks are filled with millennia of dissertations. You can still find Yoda's articles from 500 years ago and cite them in your history research paper.
The Order just having its own micro-economy going on and every member getting their own regular job education next to all the lightsaber swinging adventures... pls

*after palpatine mysteriously drops dead during the clone wars*
anakin: alright, let’s all go around and say something nice about our dearly departed supreme chancellor. mace why don’t you go first?
mace: good riddance
anakin: nope. plo?
plo: palpatine was definitely something
anakin: not even close to being nice. yoda?
yoda: abstain from this, i do
anakin: alrighty then. obi-wan
obi-wan: palpatine did in fact exist
anakin: that was all terrible, i’ll tell padmé that the jedi order will not be making a statement at the funeral

Obi-Wan Kenobi: You need to kill Darth Vader! The very fate of the galaxy depends on it! He is pure evil. The source of all that is wrong in universe. Every bad thing that has ever happened ever is his fault - like on a personal level.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: You want me to kill him? Me? The master swordsman? The battle-hardened general? Arguably one of the greatest Jedi of all time? Oh no, I couldn’t possibly!
Obi-Wan Kenobi: No you don’t understand - I love him. Mind your fucking business.

I know certain parts of Star Wars fandom are determined to see literally everything about the Jedi in the most bad faith way possible but one of the most baffling examples to me is when people act like they look down on all other force religions and don't take the time to understand them because they see their own way as superior when there is quite literally nothing to suggest that. Like the only other force users they have any actual beef with on principle are the Sith, which I'd say is justified considering the Sith are a bunch of fascist pricks who constantly try to take over the galaxy. Literally all the others are either allies of the Jedi or the Jedi just leave them alone to do their thing.

Short Debts Make Long Friends - Snippet from chapter 19
Tumblr media
He lifts the helmet from his head, sets it aside, and turns to confront his reflection in the mirror.
Dank farrik, he needs a haircut.
He leans in to take a closer look at himself, frowning. All things considered, it could be worse. Split lip, and he’s got the beginnings of a black eye, but it’ll be dark and you won’t see, and the blood and grime will be easy to clean. But should he wash off or use the sonic? And shaving, when was the last time he shaved –
Why is he even thinking about something as stupid as shaving! He told you he’d be a few minutes, and he’s already wasted, what, one minute – oh fuck it’s already been three —
He quickly concludes that anything that has touched the same air as Kaba Baiz needs to go in the sonic, his person included. As for what to put back on…
He releases the fasteners on his cuirass, thinking hard. His base layers are short sleeved. You are wearing short sleeves, and you have asked him to hold you in bed. The thought of touching your arms with his bare hands is intoxicating; any more mutually exposed skin and…
Shuddering, he hauls himself into the shower and starts peeling everything off.
There is a reason he has always avoided sharing a bed. You never knew – you had left for the Cantina by then, thank God – but one single night spent lying beside you had resulted in a wet dream so vivid that he had woken up rutting the mattress.
Part of the problem was simply being long overdue for release – raising Grogu did not lend itself to much time spent alone, and during the rare instances he found himself alone, he usually was too tired to entertain thoughts of anything other than sleep. But for a man accustomed to ignoring his baser instincts, that morning in Mos Eisley had left him shaken, nearly to the point of paranoia.
Din grimly looks down at the pile of clothing at his feet. The sonic’s as good as a disinfectant, but every fiber in his flight suit seems imbued with death, and he doesn’t have a spare.
Does that make me a monster?
He winces, remembering the torture in your eyes. He can’t wear the flight suit. He just can’t. He’ll just have to wear his base layers and stay awake till morning, which won’t be a problem because right now he is so keyed up that he will be awake until the day he dies.
Short Debts Make Long Friends - An overeducated, underpaid millennial finally gets to go on her first adventure.
