You know those memes of middle schoolers now versus when you were in school? Like how we were in braces with poorly done make up and weird hair styles?
I feel like this comparison is that. Both were taken when they are/were just under 6 months.

Our foster puppy Charlie had his second and third heartworm treatment! He was very brave and his buddy Eureka provided good moral support. Our resident pup Idgie is happy to have  "her" boys home and everyone is resting comfortably now. We are looking ahead to 6-8 weeks of strict rest, but luckily Charlie is a chill guy who loves to cuddle, and we are entering hibernation season here in New England anyway!

JUST A PUPPY!!!
In Baltimore County, MD: RYAN IS URGENT... HE NEEDS OUT TODAY!! HE IS ADOPTABLE OR NEEDS A FOSTER/RESCUE NOW!
Baltimore County Animal Services is urgently seeking placement for Ryan. Ryan is an estimated 9-month-old, 60lb, puppy that needs to learn some manners and constructive outlets for his frustration and energy. He came to us as a stray so his history is unknown. He is showing an increase in jumpy/mouthy behavior as his time spent at the shelter increases. Ryan has shown good, friendly interest with other dogs in passing. We need to get him out of the shelter ASAP.
Ryan is up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative, and neutered. If you are interested in adopting, fostering or rescuing Ryan, or have any questions, please let us know ASAP!
Thank you,
BCAS Rescue Team

can you believe someone abandoned this sweet baby on the side of a busy highway?
miss joey doesn’t have to worry about that anymore! she’s getting all the love as our foster pup and will soon make a great new member to someone’s family. 🥰
she got a new collar and harness today too 🤗💓

I'm struggling to tell myself we can't keep this puppy. Maybe I'm really terrible at fostering. But I see what this puppy has to offer and I'm just amazed.
He is in tune with people and other dogs. He is close to being neutral to dogs as I expect in a puppy his age. He wants to go up to them but isn't upset when he can't. He is happy to take treats instead of going towards people or dogs.
He is a little nervous and worried in new situations but grows in confidence very fast and recovers quickly.
He is also VERY quick to learn. He is a bit slower to pick up on verbals but is very fast with hand signals. He is picking up on skills within one session and likes doing quick position changes.
He seems to be built correct and overall I'm just impressed with him. In so many ways.
I really think he could make a very good sport dog.
Overall someone better adopt him before I keep him. It would really dash my Aussie goals but I feel like he might be a one of a kind dog that I might regret passing up.
Yet it would make our lives harder to take on a second dog. We would have to register Rebel as an ESA (which is why we got her for my fiancee in a way and he does have a need for her to be that. We just haven't registered her as such) to have a second dog.

Idgie has always been the baby in the family, having come into our pack as a puppy when Sam and Levi (both ascended now) had already been a bonded pair for a decade by that point. The boys were about as bored by her as they were with any other dog but they accepted her anyway; but she LOVED them, always trying to touch butts while they were sleeping and doing run-by kisses when they weren't paying attention.
It's nice to have some more action in the house again with our foster puppies Charlie and Eureka and the most surprising thing is how much of a "big sister" Idgie has become. She is very nosey and bossy with them, but in an appropriate way, and they love it! She's 5 years old now (almost 6, wow!) and any chihuahua people will know what that means for her personality ;) It's very interesting to see how "mature" she has become (I never thought I'd say that about her) and I wonder what she'll be like when she's an old lady.
I took this pic last night when I wasn't feeling well; I had made some ramen and I was going to get into bed and watch The Walking Dead for the millionth time. None of the dogs are food aggressive but they do get all jazzed up about snacks and cuddle time so it wasn't unusual for Idgie to be doing her "fun police" routine (if you know, you know) while simultaneously showering the puppies with kisses. The boys were just happy to be included and looking for a place to snuggle. Eventually everyone settled down with Idgie right in the middle, as it should be.
Idgie (black, 5 year old Chihuahua mix)
Eureka and Charlie (tan, 7 month old Chihuahua? Dachshund??? mixes)
