Goodbyes are so damn hard, you know?
I just dropped off my foster dog, Rizzo, at the shelter, so he can go on to his forever home. I am kind of gutted? I didn’t expect to get attached to a chihuahua of all dogs, but I did. I nursed him back to health and happiness, when he was utterly emaciated, starving, frostbite on his ears, scared. He was so cuddly and clingy (in the best way) and happy to see me whenever I came into the damn room.
And, look, I love my dog, Luna. I love her so much. But she’s a different kind of dog. She’s an aloof husky that I love to take on long walks and jogs, to go on adventures with, to rough-house and play with, and hang out with outside for hours in the summer on the porch, her on her bed and me in a hammock. She’s not a cuddler. She doesn’t even like being pet sometimes, and that’s fine. She’s “cuddly” if she is in the same room as we are.
But this little guy, little Rizzo, he was so desperately thrilled to see me that he wagged his whole body, always wanted to be in my lap, had this look of worship in his eyes when he looked up at me. I mean, God. I didn’t know I needed a clingy little dog in my life, but apparently I do. He has an adopter lined up, who will almost certainly take him, but I put a secondary hold on him just in case. The rational part of my brain wants him to go to the first adopter, because they already have the other dog he was found with (who has also been nursed back to health by a different foster), so it would be lovely for him to be able to live with his buddy. But the irrational part of my brain wants to go back to the shelter and dog-nap him. Boost him right now and steal him back home.
It was amazing to help him. It really was. To see him go from 2 pounds to 8 in like...two weeks? To see him go from cowering little pile of pointy bones to happy wiggly chonker? So wonderful. But I can tell he really trusted me and really wanted to be by me all the time. I guess I just wish that could have kept going. It felt so great to take care of a dog that needed me and wanted me with such obvious outward signs.
Anyway, this is him. I’ll miss him so much. I hope he has a really great life.

Day 15 of fostering and Lady Suzi came out of her shell last night at nearly 4am! She has been here since 2nd August and this is the first time she's been comfortable enough to become playful. I damn near started crying when she did, I'm not even joking.
She is up for adoption through This Is Their Happy Ending (here on Facebook) but has had little to no interest unfortunately. Lady Suzi is in the UK and the rescue will help arrange transport for her to her eventual home. The adoption fee is £450 since it covers initial transport from Bosnia (where she was in a Kill Shelter), vet treatment, flea and worming, and passporting.
She's honestly so sweet and deserves a good home.
If you'd like to help support me with Lady Suzi and Marley (who chewed my fingers at the end of the video lol) you can do so via PayPal or ko-fi.
I do art commissions, writing (not currently unfortunately), knitting, answering questions about sharks and other marine animals (tagged shark-facts), as well.
You can send me an ask about something you want to learn more about, tip the post whatever amount you'd like, via tumblr tips, and it'll be processed in 10 days.
Alongside all that, I am working with @lollypuddn to try and create some stickers as well. That's in the planning stage however but I'm hopeful!
Anyway. You can reblog this, like the tiktok, share it, comment etc.

Well this little guy is going to get snatched up super quick.
We have a temp foster for a few weeks (unless he gets adopted on Saturday) named Otis Redding.
He’s like five months old, a little shy, but super sweet. And he very much wants to come up on the couch even though he’s not allowed.

A Good Picture Can Be the Key
A picture is worth a thousand words. Or a picture can launch a love affair. Either way, a good picture can be the key to a dog finding a family. Often people tell me that when they saw a picture of their current dog, it was love at first sight. Capturing a dog’s personality as well as its physical features in a picture can work magic. It’s why shelters and rescues love when photographers…

Foster Fail!
PeeWee What is a foster fail you may ask? Well, this picture sums it up. To be more precise, a foster fail is when the dog you are fostering does not leave the foster home. He is adopted by the foster family. We failed and PeeWee is home! PeeWee is being a gift with his Christmas morning bow! On Christmas day my husband picked PeeWee up, put a bow on him, and said, “Here you go, Merry…

Thank goodness the beenis bros haven't figured out this one yet.
The most hilarious part is that the biggest one is Charlie, and he also categorically has the most feelings and the least confidence.

Just spent most of the day out looking for Lady who was adopted yesterday and jumped the fence of her forever home after we left. Beyond stressed but hoping she'll be found soon.
Manchester area. Black collie/lab dog. Red collar with white stars on it. Medium size. Last seen in Pendlebury area.
If any of my followers live around there, please keep a look out. The Drone SARS for Lost Dogs UK on Facebook is where she's been reported as missing. If you're in the group, I hope you are able to keep track as well.

Looking for that Adoption Magic
From Marley’s point of view, people just don’t understand. What she’d like is a person (preferably a man) to be devoted to her in the same way that she is devoted to him. She’d like someone she could stick close to when he’s home and a safe, comfy crate to hang out in when he’s gone. Maybe a few long walks to sniff stuff, a few treats after she sits when asked, and a couch to snuggle on during…
