so why is the female krang there
like. what purpose does she serve in the movie. I SWEAR SHE'S LITERALLY MY FAVORITE ONE OUT OF THE THREE BUT THERE'S NO PRACTICAL USE FOR HER REALLY
like krang prime is like the guy, idk he took out multiple helicopters in seconds, and he also did the weird krangify shit
krang three operates the ship and, because i've heard enough headcanons for me to be convinced, he is the only one that can do so
ik abou t the argument that krang two, aaah it's a girl so you know. but i don't think that's the case because they can just krangify anything they want. also the implications are really fucked up and gross so i'm not gonna acknowledge it
BUT LIKE, in the kindest sense, krang two you have done nothing and listen i love you, you are so slay and girlboss, but goddamn please do something scary if we ever get a third season

Wow. Whoever is in charge of Netfix' Avatar doesn't remotely understand Avatar. No, that's too generous. They seem to be failing Writing 101. As in basic character arcs, narrative progression, flaw being the catalysts for self-discovery and character development, layers of character expression that are not explicitly spewed out or as it is sometimes is called 'subtext' and 'depth'. Like... I don't get it. If they gonna strip the show down even more, all they are going to be left with are bare bones of logistics. Characters A, B and C traveled from Location 4 to Location 6. Riveting. /s The worst part is something else, thou. It is this quote: "that’s part of the process of going from a Nickelodeon cartoon to a Netflix serialized drama" as in 'cartoons are not real drama, it's simplistic and for children'. It's the same high horse, patronizing stuff Halo TV Show showrunners have said. Basically meaning that games are not real cinema or real art. It all reeks of snobbism and faking humility.
Saw this yesterday and it’s just a fucking giant red flag. Game of Thrones has done so much damage to creating fantasy media.
Tumblr media
The gang won’t go on as many detours to go ride elephant koi - great, I’m so desperate for the world of avatar to be depicted in the most dark, depressing way possible.
I don’t remember anyone begging for another live-action avatar. Once was bad enough, so a lot of the excuses of “Yeah we had to make changes for live-action” immediately makes me say “Well, you didn’t need to make it live-action at all.”

Trans girl Zuko moments
Her liking pretty things(such as that seashell)because 'girls like that stuff'
Growing out her hair after a buzzcut as visual character development
'The son my father wanted. But i wasn't me'
Being heartbreakingly jealous of her ideallic sister and wishing she could be perfect like her while hating her for it at the same time
And Ozai perfering Azula for living up to standards while Ursa loved and nurtured both of them equally but payed extra attention to Zuko because of all the degradation she faced
Comparing herself to Ty Lee by saying she's not as optimistic or pretty
Misandrist queen(Her instant reaction to a guy getting near Mai was rage at him potentially being a sleaze, her insults to Iroh, her arc culmenating in coming for her abusive dad's entire life including jumping his ass, etc)
Dragon-coded
All her friends pre-Gaang were girls
Her and Aang=Tween dorky boyprotagonist and late teens mean goth older sister who learn to love eachother trope
She's really maternal to him but also in general
Sokka is the Team Dad to her Team Mom and their dynamic is 'Mean hotheaded girl and chill goofy guy start off thinking the other is annoying asf and picking on eachother until they go on an adventure together and now they're sickeingly lovey dovey best friends totally not lovers'
Chose the Kyoshi Warriors as her bodyguards
This panel in general
Tumblr media
But also these that make her look like the second girl mc in a Nickelodeon girl power sitcom
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jet talks to and treats her the same way he does Katara and he's got Smellerbee on his team so He Knows What She Is(and is being an annoying cocky bisexual about it)
Had TWO secret identities-First one was pretending to be an ordinary boy to hide her royalty status and her first instinct on picking a name was after her childhood best friend who's a girlypop and the second one was a hero persona that included baggy ass clothes that hid her entire figure
Baby butch(Toph)immediately adopted her as her older sister
Got 1 taste of living as a daddy's boy prince praised by everybody for manliness after months of living on the run and interacting with the Gaang and went 'I need to get my ass outta here,i can't fucking live like this,I WAS WRONG BEING A REAL MAN FUCKING SUCKS,AANG WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!!!!'

The more i think abt mahoako and the more discourse i see, the more i realize these are actually the perfect ages for the cast. In a postmodern, duchamp's fountain-esque conversation starter way. You learn a lot about someone's base moral code from their opinion on the show and the reasoning behind it.
"heh, the woke libtards on twitter are gonna be so mad!" 4chan republican, will probably shit their pants when they realize they aren't half assing the gay. Ultimately a contrarian with no code beyond trying to cause as much pain as possible.
"anyone who watches is a pedophile!" Has an Aristotelian view on morality, considering people to be good or bad on a basic level. It doesn't matter if people are actually harmed because morality is contained in an individual. If you act in ways that aren't virtuous you are now bad, the only difference between causing harm and not is the degree to which you are bad.
"i wish they were older, even 16/17 would work!" Disgust reasoning, what's the difference between 14 and 16 in this context? If it's bad for them to be 14 we're applying irl morality to fiction, and specifically considering the audience as an involved party (since kids of the same age can do whatever). By that logic, why is it better to watch 16yos fuck? The characters already look much older than middle schoolers, and being 16 wouldn't put them in even barely legal territory. That's still a high schooler, and the only change would be numbers stated. But 16 sounds better than 14, so that's the number.
Hell my utilitarianism definitely bleeds through all of my opinions, and certainly a number of other things i don't even realize.
And the kicker is that for every kink only seen in porn used in the manga, there's 5 kinks that are commonly used as gags or violence stand ins in kids cartoons. It works brilliantly as satire because truly some scenes are only a sliver away from smth you'd see in a family show. A bit of exposed skin, a close up, a lingering touch, are all that stand between it and smth I'd have watched on cartoon network. Hell totally spies has gotta be almost 1 to 1 with how much that one had going on lol
And the benefit of mahoako over disgusting shit like cuties is that these aren't actual kids getting hurt. Magia baiser isn't gonna turn 20 and take up alcoholism after realizing her childhood acting job fucked her up in ways she can't even process because she isn't real. W/e you think abt fiction that's still a step up from the average early 00s nickelodeon show fuck you dan schneider

incorrect quotes with ✨️Freddy, Billy and Y/n✨️
*Y/n is telling a story*
Freddy: Wow, Y/n, this story has everything! Action! Adventure! Romance!
Billy: Romance?
Freddy: I have a crush on them.
Billy: When Y/n was born, the gods said, "They're too perfect for this world."
Freddy: Please. When they were born, the devil said, "Oh, competition."
Y/n: Guess what number I’m thinking of.
Billy: 420?
Y/n: No, that’s really immature of you. Someone else guess, and please take this seriously.
Freddy: 69.
Y/n: Yeah it was 69.
Billy: Y/n, Freddy, I love y’all and all, but can I ask what in the hell are you doing?
Y/n, trying to stabilize a tower of folding chairs that Freddy is sitting atop: Oh nothing much.
Freddy: I love you too :)
Y/n: Sometimes I like to place my hands on someone’s cheeks, look into their eyes...
Y/n: ...And violently jerk their head until it snaps.
Freddy: ...That took an unexpected turn.
Billy: So did their neck.
Freddy: I will find us a covered wagon and horses.
Freddy: If you two can manage to not kill each other while I'm gone.
Billy: Oh, please. We're not children. *Freddy leaves*
Billy, casually: ...Eat shit and die.
Y/n, also casually: Yes, fuck you.
Billy: Some people are like slinkies.
Freddy: What?
Billy: Not really good for much but bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
Freddy:
Freddy: Please don't push Y/n down the stairs.
Billy, pushing Y/n down the stairs: Too late.
Y/n, reading a recipe: Beat three eggs?
Billy: It means like in hand-to-hand combat.
Y/n: Ohhhh-
Freddy: Both of you get out of this kitchen.
Freddy: It's locked.
You got a lock pick?
Billy: Yeah-
Y/n: *kicks in the door*
Y/n, reading the newspaper: Huh. Did you know Nickelodeon opened a hotel?
Billy: Yeah, I went there once. There was a dead squirrel in the pool and I made Freddy cry by telling him it was the real Sandy.

A:TLA; how it should have ended.
Recently, I've been on a deep dive into the A:tLA fandom, specifically the Zutara sphere. And that means I've found a lot of long-form meta on the show, it's ending, LoK, script final drafts, you name it. That's all gone in the brain blender, and here's what came out the other side.
Sozin's Comet honestly doesn't change that much; only two real differences.
The magic rock is gone. Instead, we get a flashback to Guru Pathik, and Aang realizes that he has to let go of his attachment to Katara.
The Maiko/Kataang victory laps in the last 5 minutes are gone. Mai and Zuko get a scene where they wish each other well, but acknowledge that they're over. Katara and Aang have a nice moment where they choose friendship. There's love there, but it's Philia, not Eros.
@burst-of-iridescent has a delightful essay series on Zutara, and the part that sticks in my head is that in the run-up to the finale, Aang and Katara are at their least unified. To wit:
In "The Southern Raiders" Aang is preachy, condescending, and more than a little hypocritical about Katara's plan to take vengeance for her mother. The episode ends with Katara explicitly rejecting Aang's belief that Yon Rha was forgiven.
In "The Ember Island Players" Aang is distraught at the idea that EIP!Katara's statements, namely that Aang is like her brother and she's attracted to Zuko, are true. When he questions Real!Katara about this, he responds to her statement that she's confused about her feelings by kissing her. The kiss is not returned. Again, no resolution is had.
Finally, in "Sozin's Comet Part 1" Katara is part of the chorus condemning Aang for refusing to even consider killing Ozai, no matter how many people are at stake. He runs off from the group, and from there disappears into the Spirit World to get Lion-Turtled. Yet again, no resolution, and the two don't reunite until the tea shop.
Now speaking of the Lion Turtles, I'm actually not opposed to them. Yes, they come out of nowhere to deliver an 11th Hour Superpower that handily spares Aang from having to actually make a choice he disagrees with, but at the end of the day it is a kid's show. Nickelodeon was never going to approve a script where Aang killed Ozai. Throw in a little bit of foreshadowing, and I'm good. It's worth noting here that the story of Avatar Wan was supposed to be covered in A:tLA, which would handily cover that requirement.
Now, for the post-canon. We'll start with Fire.
Zuko is NOT left alone in the Fire Nation. Similarly, Iroh does NOT fuck off back to Ba Sing Se.
Toph and Suki stick around. Suki in her canon role as commander of Zuko's Kyoshi Warrior bodyguard, while Toph and Mai use Toph's lie-detection and Mai's insider knowledge to purge threats to the new peace.
Toph eventually goes back to the Earth Kingdom to start a metalbending academy, but first she needs to make sure that her Sparky lives to be the grumpy old man he was born to be.
While Iroh is correct that for political and diplomatic reasons Zuko needs to be Fire Lord, he also bows to the reality that Zuko is plain and simply not ready to be the Fire Lord.
Zuko went from 4th in line to 1st in line basically overnight, and the 5-ish years he spent as Crown Prince were clearly not spent preparing him to succeed Ozai.
So a teenager with a fairly surface-level understanding of "how to monarch" has to self-Reconstruction the Fire Nation, while paying reparations, without having been militarily conquered.
This is how idealists get assassinated. New Plan!
Zuko is crowned Fire Lord. Iroh is his Prince Regent. It's very clear to all involved that Zuko is the one charting the course forward for the Fire Nation, while Iroh is there to convert intent to action, while teaching Zuko how it's done.
It doesn't hurt that Iroh is one of the Fire Nation's most successful military commanders, so the civil war route is a lot riskier for anyone to attempt.
Next, Sokka
Sokka honestly has a pretty good arc in the post-canon. Nothing I really feel the need to correct.
Eventually, Suki is able to hand off her duties in the Fire Nation to someone else and goes home to Kyoshi Island
It’s still home, but it isn’t the same. Or rather, she isn’t the same.
She never leaves the island behind, but it’s usually a stop on the journey from Wolf Cove to Republic City.
Then, Aang
Aang divides his time between Avatar duties and Last Airbender duties.
Avatar duties involve a lot of sitting in on meetings and reminding people that the ultimate goal is peace.
Last Airbender duties involve a lot of teaching Air Acolytes everything he remembers from his childhood. He gets lucky here, though.
The Airbender Genocide wasn't complete. More than a few Air Nomads escaped the Genocide, and hid themselves away. Some in small villages built in remote mountain valleys, others blended into Earth Kingdom settlements.
Plenty of quarter- or eighth-Air Nomad kids running around with airbending potential they never had the knowledge to develop. Think very early Book 1 Katara here.
The result is that a resurgent Air Nation is being formed, with a culture woven from the threads that survived through relics, the refugees, and Aang himself.
Airbenders are still rare, and it's over a decade before another airbender earns their mastery, but it's not his son and his grandkids when Korra comes around.
Finally, Katara
Katara spends a lot of time traveling. She spends time in the South Pole, helping to rebuild and learning Southern Style Waterbending from the released waterbenders. She also travels the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom, doing what she can to solve problems.
There are a lot of problems to solve.
Her travels in the Fire Nation are particularly fruitful; word of the Last Agni Kai has spread, so she is known to be the one that the Fire Lord sacrificed himself for, and who healed his wound.
She and Zuko stay in contact, allowing themselves to have a slow-burn courtship.
After a couple of years she moves to Caldera City and starts getting down to seriously courting Zuko, preparing herself for Fire Ladydom.
The year before Iroh is set to retire as Regent, she and Zuko start thinking about the wedding.
There are a lot of potential traditions to uphold, even just between the Southern Water Tribe and the Fire Nation
This goes double for the daughter of the head chieftain of the Southern Water Tribe, and the Fire Lord himself.
They decide to have fun with it and do everything.
Aang presides over a private ceremony, family/close friends only, that is really just a mutual declaration of love and friendship.
Then come the Southern Water traditions. It's the full gamut, with ice-dodging, sacred hunts and more. In the end, Zuko is an honorary member of the Southern Water Tribe, and he and Katara are wed (again).
There's a diplomatic tour through the Earth Kingdom, stopping at Kyoshi, Gaoling, Omashu, Ba Sing Se, the Foggy Swamp the former Fire Colonies, and ending at the Northern Water Tribe. The language used artfully slides over whether the couple is newly married or about to be married, but overall it works well for the Fire Nation's reputation abroad.
The final act is in the Fire Nation. A full Royal Wedding, a grand affair of state, held at high noon on the day of the summer solstice. When all is said and done, Zuko and Katara now rule alone as Fire Lord and Fire Lady.
Alright, I have more, but I'm tired. Tune in next time for the Fire Nation (extended) Royal Family! featuring Steambabies (Found here)

With the whole Quiet on Set I want to remind everybody about the creator of Ren and Stimpy, John Kricfalusi, had started a relationship with a 13 year old fan, who became his live in girlfriend at 16. People say it was an open secret but let's be real honest and say the truth it wasn't an open 'secret' there was no secret, it's just that no one at Nickelodeon/ those around John gave a shit that he started dating a teenager.
Nick execs have a history of not giving a FUCK what their creators do.

they managed to massacre Aang's character and all the struggle and importance of his choice in the finale in a SINGLE page, and yet there are people who think the comics are good
and of course Katara's would have nothing to say on the matter, toootally in-character
Not to mention: yes, Zuko is right that a lifetime of indoctrination won't magically stop affecting him just because he's aware of it now, but the way the comics really said "If you're not perfect, you deserve to die. Not rehabilitation, not even incarceration despite it being an option, just straight to violent, lethal punishment" is horrying.
And lets not forget the blatant abuse apologism of having Zuko, the kid who was told by his abusive parent that his disfigurement and banishment was "for his own good" after he made one "mistake", turning to his closest friends and asking them to be his "safety net" by MURDERING HIM IF EVER STEPS OUT OF LINE - and said friends then agree to it.
Are you fucking kidding me? The real Aang would have double-down on the "You're NOT your father" bit, and the entire friend group would have been super concerned about Zuko because a victim of abuse saying they're as bad as their abuser thus deserve to die is one hell of a red flag as to how their mental health is going.
Tumblr media
Speaking of mental health: I talk a lot about how Azula was constantly being abused by the supposed heroes in the comics, and how the justification of it is rooted in ableism, but this nonsense with Zuko asking to be put down like a dog is also peak victim blaming, and one of the few moments in which one can actually feel bad for comics!Zuko.
And it ties into a disturbing pattern I noticed among Avatar fans - and mainly Zuko fans. They don't truly understand that what Ozai put his children through was wrong, they simply think he chose the wrong kid as the escapegoat. They think Azula should have been the one that is constantly punished just for existing, while Zuko is the golden child that can do no wrong - or else.
This moment right here? With the people that he trusts agreeing to inflict violence on him if he ever makes a mistake? This is that "or else". This is literally the same mentality that led to Azula's breakdown because NO ONE CAN SURVIVE UNDER THAT MUCH PRESSURE.
And that leads us to the main reason why the comcis suck: Yang was using Zuko as a self-insert.
"Zuko‘s relationship with Ozai is something we – Mike, Brian, Dark Horse, Nickelodeon, and I – talked about extensively when we first started working together. There’s this strange thing that happens to people in power. The pressures of power often blur the lines between enemies. That’s part of what happens to Zuko here. Ozai is the only one who knows what it’s like to be Fire Lord, the only one who has the wisdom of experience. I also looked at my own life. I used to clash with my dad quite a bit when I was a teenager. However, as I grew up and found myself in roles that he used to have, I began to understand more and more of his decisions. My father isn't thoroughly evil, of course, but I imagine Zuko feels a little of the same pull."
Yang. My guy. My dude. The words "Ozai" and "wisdom" should NEVER be in the same sentence. Every single action of Ozai's as Fire Lord was based on him being an abusive piece of shit that finally got access to absolute power. He is not a stern dad, he is abusive. He's not misunderstood, he needed to be stopped and locked away. He is a human being with feelings and motivations, yes, but he is WRONG ABOUT LITERALLY EVERYTHING EVER. He NEVER had a point. Zuko has nothing to learn from him except what NOT to do. That's why he looks like an older, unscarred Zuko. A version of Zuko that never changed.
This is the core issue of the comics, and why it had so many moments of unintentional abuse apologism: they say Ozai is a villain, but they're going out of their way to constantly make the characters come dangerously close to saying "Maybe he had a point." That's why they have Zuko turn to Ozai for advice despite claiming he wants to avoid becoming like him - because the guy writting them couldn't understand that the bad guy was, in fact, bad and in the wrong and has no wisdom to offer to anyone.
Avatar, the series, is about the world moving past from the sick mentality people like Ozai had, and about his son realizing that he did not deserve to be abused. The Avatar Comics are about telling Zuko (and others) "Ozai isn't wrong actually, you'll understand when you're older."
No, Yang, they won't. Because there's nothing to "understand" here other than THE GUY THAT ABUSED HIS CHILDREN AND COMMITED GENOCIDE WAS WRONG ABOUT EVERYTHING, YOU DUMBASS!
Saying "the villain had a point" does not make a story better unless it is true - and in Ozai's case, it simply isn't. Insisting otherwise doesn't make the story and characters more mature, it just means you couldn't understand a cartoon aimed at 7-year-olds despite being a grown-ass man.
And I won't even get into Bryke approving of this bullshit otherwise I'll start tearing my hair out in rage at how badly they seem to have lost touch with the message of their best work, so let me just use a simple statemet to make everyone understand just how much of a disaster this is:
Even M. Night Shyamalan didn't misunderstand ATLA to the point of thinking Ozai wasn't actually wrong, but Bryan, Mike and Yang did. The comics understand the show less than M. Night Shyamalan did.
I rest my fucking case.

Look, I grew up watching Nickelodeon in the 90s. I remember when Amanda Bynes joined All That and had her Ask Ashley segments. I followed her to The Amanda Show. I loved Kenan and Kel and can't look at orange soda without thinking about Kel Mitchell. I never did watch Drake and Josh because it started just after I stopped watching the network, but I did know Drake because of TAS and so many of the Nicktoons have stuck with me over the years. So I get it, okay? I get it. I was a '90s Nick Kid. I was before iCarly and Victorious, but I was there for Figure It Out and Kenan and Kel and Double Dare and Legends of the Hidden Temple, and of course, The Amanda Show. That was, as they say, my childhood.
But listen to me. It is fucking ghoulish to take a picture of the cast of All That or The Amanda Show, throw a filter on it, and plaster a message on it about how you want your childhood back, tagged "Quiet on Set." What kind of sewer troll do you have to be, to watch a documentary about child stars who were abused and sexually assaulted and think, "I hate that it happened because now I can't enjoy those shows anymore :("
I mean, seriously? Are you for real? What the actual fuck is wrong with you? Your precious childhood memories are worth NOTHING compared to the literal trauma and torture those children suffered, do you hear me? For you to walk away from that documentary making twee little edits about how ~your childhood is ruined~ when the primary subject of the documentary was sexually tortured as a child almost every day for six months . . . you need to get your head out of your ass and get reacquainted with what it is to be a decent human being. Because that really is ghoulish behavior. "Quiet on Set" is not about you and your precious childhood. And for the Cartoon Network or Disney watchers out there, it's not JUST about Nickelodeon, either. It's about the abuses faced by child stars across the industry and how few protections exist for them, how we adults have failed them, how we need to shed light on this so something can be done.
But stop making those self-centered edits, you fucking ghouls. Have some fucking decency, for fucksake.

I just found something very important.
You know Shock Spears? The things that Irkens use as weapons.
Tumblr media
These things.
We’ve never seen a really detailed look at them because they’re always in the background or not in proper focus in the scenes they’re in.
And that’s a real shame because not only are they cool, going by the pictures above they all seem slightly unique compared to one another.
EXCEPT I KNOW WHERE A HIGH DEFINITION HD QUALITY SHOCK SPEAR CAN BE FOUND!
Tumblr media
NICKELODEON ALL STAR FUCKING BRAWL. ZIM USES HIS OWN SHOCK SPEAR AS PART OF HIS MOVESET!
That means that if someone just looked into the files of NASB, they’re be able to find the model of Zim’s spear and we’d have the best look at a Shock Spear we’ve ever seen. And on top of that it’s ZIM’S shock spear, and from what we’ve seen so far all shock spears are at least slightly unique, AND from the picture here of Zim using his shock spear it looks like it has some sort of unique design on it with some blue parts visible on the spear.
PLEASE TELL ME THAT SOMEONE KNOWS HOW TO NAVIGATE CODE FOR THIS. I WILL LEARN CODE AND DO IT MYSELF IF I HAVE TO.
