The raised floor emphasizes the already low ceilings. A wolfskin spread seems appropriate in the cavern-like space. Yet the open shelves and the flexibility of the sliding shojis keep any sense of confinement at bay.

10 Years
A little late to this but 10 years ago Hatena shutdown. The animations on the service inspired me a lot and I help morphed me into who I am now.
The drawings in the back are stills from old animations of mine. I couldn't be part of Hatena back then but when Flipnote 3D came out I made up for lost time by making animations then uploading them to youtube.
Even though I miss Hatena, I think it left on a high note. Thank you Hatena and thank you Flipnote.

We spend our youth hunting for the reality we think lies on the other side of our illusions. What we find at the other end of our search is what lies on the other side of the movie screen: a dark and desolate space that only reveals the unreality of what we pursued. So we spend our adulthood trying to recapture the illusions. Few of us do.

thinking that when the singularity happens and the whole internet is dead and all digital footage is ai generated people will revert to analog media (films, casettes, tapes, flip phones…) due to legal prosecution against digital recordings and their legitimacy
i am now fantasizing about being that weird neighbor who hates the corporations and the government and has shelves upon shelves of film reels (my favorite youtube videos of all time archived before youtube was shut down)

While movies and television shows today are highly digitized, they were at one time all produced on film strips. Each reel held a piece of entertainment that had many hours worth of work poured into it, but once the studios were finished with them, they were set to be discarded under close supervision. Thankfully, not all of them were destroyed...
Obtained from a private collector, this limited edition selection from the Breaking Bad pilot is beautifully mounted for display, featuring a film cell that has been carefully cut from the original reel. The one I have also happens to be from a critical scene in that premiere episode: Walter White receiving his cancer diagnosis – setting him on a path that would see him become the infamous Heisenberg. Just an amazing piece of film and television history! 🎞️
