I am very stressed about a thing that I can’t discuss right now that I have literally no control over, so here’s some
fanfic writer asks
that I came up with all on my own. Ask ‘em, share ‘em, do whatever.
Have you pulled inspiration from media sources other than the property your fic is related to (a plot point from a TV show that has nothing to do with the characters/setting of the fic, a line from a book, etc.)? If so, for which story? Why did you find that media source compelling?
What is your favorite paragraph from (insert story title you want to know about here, or leave it blank for writer’s choice)? Is there a reason it’s your favorite?
What is the most amount of research you’ve done for the smallest detail? What was the detail and how much time/effort went into researching it?
Share a headcanon about (character name) in (story title)!
Is there a tiny detail in one of your fics that you feel goes tragically unnoticed?
What is your favorite type of feedback to receive (favorites/kudos, comments, DMs, complete and utter silence in the pursuit of remaining unperceived?)? If comments or DMs or anything else involving a reader writing, do you have a particular type of feedback that excites you more than other types?
Share a line or paragraph you’ve written that you don’t think will ever actually be posted in anything! (Or, if you don’t hoard cut sentences and passages like I do, share anything you want that has yet to see the light of day!)
Is there a story idea you have that you would love if it could appear fully realized but that you do not think you’ll ever write yourself?
Do you prefer to read angst or fluff? Which do you prefer to write?
If you could banish a single trope to live at the bottom of the ocean, never to be seen again by any human eyes (or at least your own), which trope would that be?
Conversely, if you had to pick a single trope to read for the next seven-and-half years, which trope would that be?
What are your thoughts on slow burn romances?
Are you secretly Tara Gilesbie aka XXXbloodyrists666XXX aka author of infamous Harry Potter fanfiction serial My Immortal? (you can trust me; I won’t tell anyone, pinky promise)
Has anyone ever created anything (art, a podfic, another fic, etc.) inspired by your work? Which work? How did you feel about that?
Is there any genre, trope, or style that you find particularly challenging to write? Do you enjoy the challenge or prefer to avoid it?
Is there a commonly held misconception about one of your stories that you’d like to correct for the masses?
What does your editing process look like?
Share a headcanon relating to (insert desired theme here)!
What was the very first fanwork you ever created? (I’m talking like maybe you made a little book out of construction paper and staples with your favorite Disney characters drawn in it when you were five years old or you drew a comic about a movie you saw when you were a preteen. That sort of thing.)
Is there anything about any one of your fics that you have been dying to discuss but haven’t had the chance to?

1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)
Probably The spaces in between - both the regular and E-rated versions, because missing scenes are really my sweet spot and there's quite a bit of variety in terms of emotions and topics in these collections
4. What detail in [insert fic - My head and my heart (I can’t tell them apart)] are you really proud of?
Okay so I had to go back and re-read it because I couldn't remember, and like... there are parts of it that are kind of similar to how things have played out so far this season. So I'm kinda proud of that. But I'm not sure that counts as a "detail." So to be more specific, I'll pull out this quote I was really proud of: She doesn’t want just bits and pieces of a future with Tim. She wants all of it.
10. How do you decide what to write?
I wish I could say I had any control over this, but usually my brain just gets an idea - usually while I'm doing something else like driving or showering or trying to sleep. If I actually want to sit down and write and don't have a specific place to start, I'll open my WIPs and start reading until something clicks
43. If you take/write prompts: what’s your favorite prompt fic that you’ve written?
I think I gotta go with this one I wrote this past year for the @chenfordsecretsanta. It was so fun to write and I'm really proud of how it turned out
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
This fic is a loooong way from seeing the light of day, but I'm working on a 'what if they did hook up' rewrite of 5x01-5x08. Here's a sneak peek:
“Look. I just want you to be happy. If you are, if moving in with Chris is really what you want then…” he shakes his head, “I won’t bring it up again.” “It… is.” “Lucy…” he says softly, stepping further into her apartment. She hastily takes a step backwards, holding up a hand to keep him at a distance. “None of this is what I want, okay?” she blurts. “But after everything that happened, I owe it to Chris to give this a real shot.” Tim shakes his head sadly. “What happened to him wasn’t your fault.” “He was dying while I was cheating on him,” she bursts out. It’s the first time she’s said the words aloud, and while it’s a relief to have finally let it out, hearing the words only serves to reiterate the guilt eating her from the inside out. “I know,” Tim acknowledges softly, eyes veiled with sadness. “We screwed up. Badly. We both know that. But that doesn’t mean we have to punish ourselves forever.” “Tim…” “It wasn’t pretend for me,” Tim confesses. “And I know it wasn’t for you either.”
Thank you so much for sending me questions!

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @raina-at @discordantwords and @totallysilvergirl, thank you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
20
2. What's your total A03 word count?
57, 682. Not a lot for 20 works, but 10 of them are 221b ficlets. I only have one fic over 10k (it's just over 11.3k).
3. What fandoms do you write for?
BBC Sherlock
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Never Trust to General Impressions
Abditory
Feel My Heart Banging Like a Gun
Out of Every Nowhere
Forth They Went Together
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, I do. I'm so thrilled to get them and appreciate it when someone takes the time to leave a comment. It makes me giddy, it does!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I like to end on a happy, or at least hopeful, note but occasionally angst comes out on top. I think it's probably a tie between these two: Paperweight, which is Sherlock's POV when Molly gives him John's letter at the end of TST; and With Regrets, which is John's POV as he says goodbye to Sherlock in the hospital after the beating in TLD.
Both are 221b ficlets, so at least it's a sharp punch of angst and not an extended bout? Not kidding about that punch, though (sorry not sorry).
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
This is a tough one, but I think these are probably the happiest:
bitter, sweet
Feel My Heart Banging Like a Gun
Abditory
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, thankfully. Hopefully that continues.
9. Do you write smut?
I love me some good smut, but I don't write it (yet). Certain bits in Feel My Heart Banging Like a Gun and Steady as They Go are the closest I've come so far, but they're not smutty.
10. Do you write crossovers?
No. I don't. One of my WIPs is a Stand By Me/The Body (Stephen King) fusion, but I'm not interested in writing any crossovers right now.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, which amazes me! Two have been translated into Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
@splix71 and I began to plot out a Sherlock bounty hunter AU I had initially come up with back in 2019. We had so much fun coming up with names and theories and plot points, so much fun. Unfortunately, she had to step back due to health reasons (FUCK CANCER) and afterwards I couldn't bring myself to go back to it. I doubt I ever will, as clever as I think some of the things we came up with were. I don't know that there is a place anymore for Baker Street Bonds, Yarders Bail Service, or Reichenbach Bail, but I will always treasure the time we spent on it together (that she, a most amazing writer, wanted to write something with me, still blows my mind).
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Mulder/Scully and Sherlock/John.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a Sherlock/John hunt the Bogeyman fic I've been poking at for YEARS. I love a lot of what I've written, but I wrote myself into a corner and haven't quite figured out how to get out. At this point I despair of ever finishing it, but never say never.
16. What are your writing strengths?
221b ficlets. I think I've done well with these in conveying lots of emotion in little moments.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Clever case fic and complicated plots. I can also get a bit wordy in my beginnings sometimes (ironic, considering my ability to write a strong 221b ficlet) and need a gentle nudge to cut to the action.
Also, if I'm going to be brutally honest, I tend to walk away too quickly when I get stuck and don't make myself work out the problem right then. Hence my many languishing WIPs.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've not done it yet and don't see it happening down the road either.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
For published fic, BBC Sherlock. There might be some self-insert stories with River Phoenix in my very distant past.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Ooof, this is a hard one because every finished fic is a victory for me. That said, I'll always have a soft spot for Abditory. I had been in love with Sherlock since 2011 and devoured fic at an unholy rate, but was never dared write my own until 2017, after the last series. Better late than never, right? I also really loved writing Never Trust to General Impressions, with its slice-of-life looks at Sherlock and John's evolving relationship in relation to canon (with a not-so-canon twist on TRF). Funnily enough, both are 5+1 fics.
This was fun! I have loved reading all of these from everyone too. I'm going to be That Person and tag everyone who wants to do this but hasn't been tagged yet. Please do share!

20 questions for fic writers
thanks @annerbhp for the tag! i really enjoyed reading her answers too!
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
215
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
646,705 (average of 3k per fic, which sounds about right)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
stargate atlantis most often, followed by sg-1, various star treks, and the x-files (with other miscellaneous fandoms on demand for exchanges and gifts).
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
No Sooner Met (voyager, janeway/chakotay)
Career Day (sg-1, mini!otp)
Next Chapter (the good place, chidi/eleanor)
First Date (voyager, janeway/chakotay) editor's note: man my title game was weak in my voyager era
Occupational Hazards (the good place, chidi/eleanor)
it's so funny to spend my online time in small or inactive fandoms and look at statistics because i'm like yeah... i'm kind of a big deal... people know me... i have many leather-bound volumes... and not a single one of my fics crack 300 kudos (& very few over 100). the person i reblogged from topped out over 9,000! what's it like to write long fics for popular fandoms? is it cool?
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
i do now! and it's awesome! for a long time i was intimidated by praise and had a hard time responding, but my brain works now and i really enjoy exchanging comments that turn into long threads of headcanon back-and-forth and sometimes new friends.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
oh god PLEASE let me unburden my soul about Twilight (sga, john/elizabeth). it's so uncharacteristically hopeless for me -- far future fic, complicated family dynamics, elizabeth has dementia and john is estranged from their son... really no one is having a good time. i think it's interesting and a cool departure from my usual writing style, but it's also a big sad mess.
i still feel sooooo guilty about these two thousand words of misery that i REGULARLY think about writing a sequel where john and his son fix it with time travel and mend fences. like i lie awake at night worrying about these characters because one time in 2007 i didn't give them a happy ending and suggested john might not break the bad father generational cycle. normal fic writer behavior.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Weaving Loose Ends (sg-1, sam/jack)! i love happy and hopeful endings but i think of all of them, this one is the most resolved and least complicated.
8. Do you get hate on fic?
nope. oh!!!! there was the one time when i caused Big Drama in a corner of the Dancing With The Stars fandom by turning people's headcanons into rpf, which everyone liked until one included porn. people got so heated with each other over this one smut fic (doxing! splinter factions! a fandom schism!) but somehow no one was ever actually mean to me. i didn't even get blocked or banned for my rpf transgressions, i was just standing there at the eye of the storm. so... i guess the answer is still no??
9. Do you write smut?
yes! i should probably write more, though. it has been all slow and gauzy the past few years, somebody should really get railed pretty soon.
10. Do you write crossovers?
nope.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
i don't think so. happily toiling in obscurity.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
back in the x-files days i think someone translated some of my doggett/reyes fics for a spanish archive, so those might still be out there.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
no i haven't!! i am really not doing well collecting my fic writer girl scout badges here!!
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
john sheppard/elizabeth weir my beloved.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?
i have 10k of an sg-1 episode-by-episode soulmate fic that started really strong and i would love to share someday, but i lack staying power so it will surely just go to seed in my dropbox forever!!
16. What are your writing strengths?
hopefully character complexity and dialogue. dialogue is interesting in fanfic, because the dialogue on many TV shows is really different than how real humans speak (it's scripted to be clearer, more concise and direct, uninterrupted, etc), so it's a fun challenge to balance that and get something that sounds both in-character and realistic.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
long fics!
the big related weakness is that i find it incredibly difficult to keep writing on a fic after i show it to anyone (as a sneak peek, or because i want feedback / encouragement / brainstorming help). i lose steam on my own, but posting or inviting other people into the process is like pouring sugar in the gas tank. why is that!! how do i fix this!!!
and i don't know if this is a "writing weakness" or an "egregious personal character flaw" but i sure did finish an exchange fic this year literally forty seconds before reveals, so that's... pretty bad.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
SO SCARY aughhhh my fear of Being Wrong really nukes me here. it doesn't even have to be a real language. it's like the ghost of JRR Tolkein himself is standing over my shoulder telling me that if i don't backwards engineer an entire proto-latinate space language instead of just chucking words into google translate and calling it Ancient i'm committing unpardonable sins.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
star trek! first internet-published fics were x-files, but first limited-print-edition fics were xeroxed hand-bound voyager stories my sister and i would give as "gifts" to family friends (and then stand there staring at them while they read the first few pages and told us how clever and creative we were and promised to "read the rest later").
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
new answer! i have always answered this before with ain't no sunshine (sga, john/elizabeth) or career day (sg-1, mini!otp), but i think i really stuck the landing this year on pieces (sga, john/elizabeth). which, incidentally, is the one i finished forty seconds before reveals so i'm definitely not going to learn anything from that narrow escape.
tagging @ussjellyfish if you haven't already done this one, @coraclavia, @havocthecat, @lonesomehighways, and anyone else who made it through this long post and would like to do it!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you so much for the tag @brandileigh2003. The tag came at just the perfect time for me to do it right now.
Username: theresthesnitch
1. How many works do you have on A03?
theresthesnitch has 110 😉
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
1,402,230
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Harry Potter, but mostly Marauders.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Step & Repeat
Three Strikes 'til you're out
Bathed in the Moonlight
One More to Love
Ignite
5. Do you respond to comments?
Gods, I try to, but I'm really bad about saving them for later and getting overwhelmed by how much I have to respond to.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Dusk, so far.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics end "happy" but I think Wishes on Stars leaves you with the happiest feeling.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
A bit, yeah.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, obviously. What kind is such an odd question. What is this asking?
I mostly write M/M and M/F. I also write a lot of M/M/M. I've written F/F and M/F/M and M/M/M/M/M/M/M (lmao had to count) and F/M/M/M and I've written some trans smut (idk that there's anything posted. I've also written vanilla sex and varieties of kink sex.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nope, not my thing.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've had a few people approach me about translating things, but I've never seen oen posted for my works.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
YES! I love cowriting.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
.... rude of you to make me pick one. I guess Wolfstar, but you're on thin fucking ice questionaire!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Gods, SO many. I've got a whole abandoned folder.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm really good at building to the intense gotcha moments. ALSO, I'm really good at remembering stupid little details to carry on.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Starting new things before I finish old things.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I definitely have, but it's SO HARD. Without having some working knowledge of the langauge, you're relying on either Google translate (which, ugh) or finding people who are willing to help you translate. Usually, I aim for French, but I've also done a Spanish in sal y limón.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Oooooof. Making me pick is so rude. Probably Wishes on Stars
@puuvillaa @mostlyoptimisticdinosaur @tracingpatternswrites tag you're it (if you wanna)

3. What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?
16. What were your go to writing songs? (Spanning over all the different fics you’ve written, I suppose.)
21. Share your favorite piece of dialog.
Love you bunches, babe. ❤️💖❤️
Love you (and bites you lovingly), babe <3
What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?
I can do it. I can write. Whatever it, whatever part of the plot I'm at, whatever actions I'm describing, I can do it. It might be difficult and overwhelming, but I can get through it. I can write it.
What were your go to writing songs? (Spanning over all the different fics you’ve written, I suppose.)
I don't listen to songs while writing ;-; I love ambiance to help set the scene/mood! For Cryptid Sightings, I listened to FOREST AT NIGHT religiously. Double Toil and Trouble had me listening to Autumn Forest. While writing Song Fish Among the Stars, I listened to Peaceful Kelpt Forest, and lately, I've put on Arctic Ambience while writing Apex Polarity.
Share your favorite piece of dialog.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks for the tags @fieldsofview & @seek--rest 🦦
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
35
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
582,965
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently Spider-Man and The Bear.
4. Top five fics by kudos:
across the hall
spotlights and moonlight
106 miles
reset
maroon
5. Do you respond to comments?
Every single one! Might take me a while to get round to it, but I’ll always try my best to give a thoughtful response.
6. What is the fic your wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hard to say, I’m not good at drawing a line between ‘angsty’, ‘hopeful’, ‘happy’ etc endings. Everything is a little bit of all. But perhaps timeless.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Again, difficult. But maybe The Balcony.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
on my way you will always be famous! The only fic I’ve had active hate on. I’ve received no less than eight anon messages telling me how much they hated it since the day I posted it back in December—the most recent one being sent just last week! Or how much it ‘didn’t work’ for them for a number of reasons that just go to show me that they didn’t actually dedicate the time to properly read the fic. I’d like to think that they’re all from the same miserable person, but alas, I know that they aren’t. It’s still one of my favourite things I’ve ever written though, y’all can’t make me hate it! ✌🏾
9. Do you write smut?
I do!
10. Craziest crossover:
I haven’t done one yet but I’d like to! I had ideas for one swimming around a few months back, but haven’t made any real headway on it. Never say never though!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not yet!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Currently writing my first collab—spotlights and moonlight with @seek--rest—and I’m loving it! Definitely want to do more collabs in the future.
14. All time favorite ship?
PeterMJ
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
If it’s still up, I have plans to finish it!
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I’m good at making characters feel like real people, and I think I’m descriptive of details in a way that matters—in a way that makes the world of the story more vibrant and lived in.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I have absolutely no control over my wordcounts!!!!!!! 😡
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
Why not!
19. First fandom you wrote in?
Marvel.

20 questions for fic writers
Thank you @totallysilvergirl for tagging me <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
171
2. What’s your total A03 word count?
2,559,305
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I live for the days when anyone asks me this question, because listing things I love is just so great. I don't actively write for all of these any longer, but I would go back to all of them if anyone threw me like, half a prompt.
BBC Sherlock
Good Omens
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
The Terror
Our Flag Means Death
What We Do In The Shadows
The Adventures of Tintin
The Hobbit
BBC and CBS Ghosts
Pacific Rim
Father Ted
Lord of The Rings
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Death In Paradise
Dalgliesh
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. Crowley's Game - Good Omens (Ineffable Husbands)
2. Return To Sender - Good Omens (Ineffable Husbands)
3. Silk All Around You - Our Flag Means Death (Ed/Stede)
4. Oh Good Lord - Good Omens (Ineffable Husbands)
5. Out Of Suffering Into Love - Good Omens (ineffable Husbands)
hmm. Guess GO fandom is where I've cashed in the biggest, kudos-wise *Raises a glass to Good Omens Fandom*
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to respond to as many as I can, and I want to respond to all of them, but ADHD and work and life keep me from doing it right away, and then ADHD and being off work and life make me forget. I will sometimes loop back around to read a new comment, then see that I never replied to another, far older comment, then go about replying to several, two years after they were left. I hope people don't mind. I promise everyone who's ever left me a positive comment, that I eat them all up like chocolate bonbons and count myself blessed for each and every one.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably that Childercelles fic where Henry dies in the end. I think maybe 10 people read it. If you're in JSAMN fandom, and you ship Childercelles, and you want a link, PM me, but I can't remember the name of the fic for the life of me. It was pretty angsty. Outside of that, I hate angsty endings. Everyone eats ice cream and cuddles at the end of my fics.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Gonna echo the wonderful @totallysilvergirl and say that I don't do unhappy endings. That Childercelles fic was the only one I think I ever wrote with an unhappy ending, and even that was more of a melancholy ending. Everything else is Häagen-Dazs and rainbows.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've gotten a few harsh criticisms, and a few snarky comments, but never actual hate.
9. Do you write smut?
I sure do! I've written a whole lot of smut, and I really love it. Regardless, it can be challenging sometimes. I have to be in the right place, and have the right focus to write smut, and lately, it's been feeling more labor intensive. I've been taking a step back from the explicit stuff lately, and playing around in M rather than E, and less sexual waters for a change. Sometimes a gal needs a break. I'll always happily write it for others, but don't feel inspired to write it for myself right now.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I really see my Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell/BBC Sherlock crossover as my first and only crossover. It involves main characters from both fandoms meeting one another, and John and Sherlock live in a world where England's history is the same as the history in JS&MN. It's been a very fun experience, but I'm really writing it for @keirgreeneyes 's birthday, because we share a lot of stuff between those two fandoms, not because I love crossovers. I don't feel drawn to them at all usually.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope. Someone came to me a couple of years ago, saying they were being bullied over accusations that they were plagiarizing my good omens fic. They even showed me the fic people talked about, and after scanning it for a bit, I didn't see anything that looked like plagiarism. I posted on tumblr saying I'd rather people plagiarize me than cause one moment of suffering due to bullying, and left it at that. I was really just jazzed to have people *want* to plagiarize me, honestly. It was flattering.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! In Korean I think.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, and I'm not sure I could. I also don't like cooking with other people or showering with other people. I just like having the reins on writing and cooking and showering fronts I guess.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Oh god please don't make me choose. My children, my precious children. After careful consideration though, I'm gonna have to go with Crozier/Jopson - Jopzier from The Terror. I mean. Come on. It's me.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I wrote many chapters of a really fun, but really complex and pain in the ass multi-chapter mystery fic for the rarest of rare pairs, Jack Mooney/Florence Cassell from Death In Paradise. So yeah, I would love to finish it, but I don't have the spoons, and it will have a readership of roughly four people.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I write good dialogue. I write good smut. I can make up stories at the drop of a hat, and then put them down very quickly, in large amounts of words. I'm a long distance runner when it comes to fic. I like my sense of humor in fics, and I'm always so happy when someone leaves me a comment telling me they laughed really hard at something I wrote. Ditto incoherent babbling about my fics making them horny. Those comments are so good.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Eh, my weakness is I'm just not an amazing writer? I do it because I love it, and it brings me so much joy, and people reading my fics brings me so much joy, and that's pretty much it. Also, I use a lot of run on sentences, and I have like six tropey things my characters always do, and I can't break out of it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I didn't understand this one. I would love to write dialogues in other languages if I spoke them fluently. Outside of speaking a bunch of Spanish, I'm not fluent in anything but English.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
eeeeeeeeee @keirgreeneyes @totallysilvergirl my first ever fanfiction was BBC Johnlock! I tried writing a fic, probably back in 2013 or something, and gave up after a handful of paragraphs. I just lacked the confidence. Then, it wasn't until 2019 when I went nuts for Good Omens and wrote a bunch of fic that I wanted to go back and write that one, first, Johnlock fic. And I did it! It's Homecoming. BBC Sherlock is my first fanfiction fandom, and my introduction to fanfiction.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Oh wow. That's a tough one. I really loved my one Father Ted fic, A Sweet, Hot, Sticky Romp, because I loved emulating the comedy style of the show and thought I did a good job.
I loved Out Of Time, my Jopzier time travel wackadoo fic for The Terror.
I guess I'll stop at two. I've written 171. I should get at least two favorites.

🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?
oh my god why are you making me choose between my favorite children?? honestly, there are so many because jokes are my favorite thing to make in fic, but this one always stands out, from a silly texting fic called AP Softball for Sanvers (Maggie is referred to as "Coach" here). The highlighted line really gets me every time.

Hej ☺️💜
19 Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
He was extremely self conscious of his hoodie and scruffy shoes. Taking tentative steps into the lobby, he nervously flattened his hair. He had just about noticed at least one chandelier hanging from the cavernous ceiling when most of his vision was filled with a young man in a uniform.
“Can I help you today, sir?” he said in a tone of voice that implied he was about to be very unhelpful.
21 Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what's your secret?
No 😅. My current WIP is over twice as long as anything I’ve ever written, and I’m still not sure how. Before this, my stories were always short. But this fic has been a proper journey, and I think it’s helped me to understand my writing better. So going forward I might be able to be more accurate with my predictions.
28 Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?
If you’re stuck on a section, leave it and come back to it. It’s great advice that means I write way more than I would otherwise. It’s also exceptionally frustrating to think I’m finished and then find [write more here] and [bleeeeuuurrgh what am I trying to do here] 😂. But overall, it’s improved the way I write.
Thank you for sending these! They’re lots of fun.
