🎥 Comfort Movie Tag!
Rules: post 10 of your favorite comfort movies and then tag 10 people or as many as you want ❤️
tagged by @i-me-mine
it was tough to choose just 10 films.
1. Just Like Heaven
I randomly caught this one time on the telly years ago and I absolutely fell in love with it. It’s a bit of a silly concept, but I’ve seen it so many times and it fills me with a warm fuzzy happy feeling whenever I watch it.
2. Enchanted
Another fun and beautiful Disney princess film, and Amy Adams is brilliant as Giselle. I also loved the blend of animation and live action
3. I, Tonya
This is a great bio-pic, about something that I didn’t know to much about to begin with, but Margot really knocks it out of the park with her performance. Also Sebastian Stan as her husband in this film is such an amazing performance too, and I’m still mad that he wasn’t at least nominated for best supporting actor that year.
4. Captain America:The First Avenger
I just really like the 1940′s aesthetic of the film, and it was early stages mcu where everything wasn’t too complicated.
5. See How They Run
This was a new favourite of mine, having only seen it for the first time at the end of last year, but it’s a very funny and quick murder mystery!
6. The Proposal
I think I have a soft spot for rom-coms, and this one is such a great film! Ryan Reynolds, and Sandra Bullock are a great team in this film.
7. Jumanji
Of course I’m talking about the iconic 1995 original with Robin Williams, it’s just such a fun and silly adventure film.
8. Waitress
This was another one which I happened to randomly catch of the telly years ago and I just really love the whole story and how Jenna takes control over her life, and goes out to reach her goals.
9. Disney’s Hercules
How can you not love this film, even just from the soundtrack alone? It’s among one of my top favourite Disney films.
10. The Mummy
This is just a really good and fun action/comedy film and Rick and Evie are an iconic couple

stole this tag game from @jjongosaurus because I was feeling a wee bit bored and it has been awhile sine I did anything like this XD
Three ships: Totally picking at random from a long list of ships - Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood from Shadowhunters  Levy and Gajeel from Fairy Tail  Vivi and Koza from One Piece
First ever ship: The first one I can really recall is Serena and Darien from Sailor Moon, my OG anime before I even knew what anime was.
Last song/album is: Stray Kids’ 5-Star album I got at AFO! Though the last song I listened to was actually Lonely St.
Last movie: Jumanji! As in the OG with Robin Williams...I forgot how much of the movie I had memorized till I started annoying my mom by pointing little things out
Currently reading: I am not currently reading anything...I have a stack of mythology books I just haven't gotten around to yet lol
Currently watching: really really want to get back to watching Kamen Rider Gaim, my brain has just been too spacey to sit down and watch.
Last thing you wrote: Technically I wrote a letter for my mom yesterday does that count...? No? Well I had tried writing a fanfic for an older j-drama Gokusen that had diverged into a original fantasy tale...
What you’re writing right now: *stares at all my different snippet docs and other assorted writing bits* ....Probably too many things.
Supposed to tag 10 people now....but I’m not! Only whoever I can think of at this very moment....so! @silver-lily-louise @mysteriousz  have fun!

Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job #17: “Robin” | January 7, 2008 - 12:15AM | S02E07
This could be my least favorite episode of the series so far, which is really too bad. The Robin wraparound, in which Eric buys Tim his own Robin Williams, is funny and quite memorable. Everything else is sorta middling for various reasons. In that wraparound, Robin is played by David Born, who is a noted Robin Williams impersonator. He has a pretty legit career as a character and voice actor. Recently some friends and I spotted him in the Chuck Norris/Jonathan Brandis film Sidekicks, which featured him in a minor role. We all thought he looked familiar and looked him up, shocked to see that he was the titular Robin from this episode.
Tim and Eric’s comedy is sorta interesting in that it seems like it’s fairly good at not relying on specific cultural references almost at all. But they also love bad celebrity impersonators, which indirectly is a cultural reference in of itself. Some people might be too young to know who Robin Williams is at all. It’s important to know that Robin was often derided by other comics but they’d usually take it all back after meeting him; by all accounts he was one of the nicest guys in the world.
The annoying hyperactive persona on display here is pretty accurate. But the ending (featuring a cameo from Keith Crawford, I think?) where Robin shows up to give Tim & Eric a thumbs up for reuniting and doing their thing on stage is also very accurate; he was indeed a fan of comedy, and sought out things that were cutting-edge. I do believe that he liked Tim & Eric and I vaguely recall Tim talking about meeting him and having a very positive experience.
Going further back, if you watch Bob Odenkirk and David Cross’ sketches on Comic Relief, they are notably a cut above what anyone else was doing on that show. But Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg would furrow their brow and act like what they did was too weird too be funny. I remember Whoopi shaking her head after their sketch and saying “I must be getting old.” Robin was the outlier in being supportive of those guys, and was clearly a fan.
When I saw the Comedians of Comedy Show in San Francisco, I was hanging out in line with some friends. While driving in, I did what my mom always does, which is point to the hillside where Robin Williams house was. “You know Robin Williams lives over there” I said, mocking my mother unnecessarily. Naturally, Robin became a running topic on that trip. For some reason I started reminiscing about a particular ad advertising Burger King toys for the film Jumanji. This involved me imitating the ad, which cried the name of the movie over and over. As I was doing this, Robin fucking Williams speed-walked past me and got in line for the show. He was just there to be a comedy fan, and some dipshit is screaming the name of one his movies, completely gratuitously. A hilarious coincidence, sure. But man, I felt like a schmuck. I ain’t trying to make Robin Williams feel weird about attending the same show I am!
As for the rest of this episode: we got Dressed to Impress, which is a decent Dougpound bit. We got Dunngeon, which features Richard Dunn in a mesh shirt interviewing Dave Navarro. Dave plays his part pretty straight, and you almost wanna believe that when he gets up and leaves in the middle of the sketch that it’s a genuine moment. The outtakes on the DVD show him giggling during the shooting, so I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Tim & Eric play a German goth band. It’s not very strong; in fact I forgot these characters ever existed.
There’s Demons, which is a hidden camera prank thing that sorta devolves to a point where it didn’t really need to be a hidden camera prank. Tim & Eric hold auditions for a fake horror movie and over-laugh at a mild gaffe and then share an awkward group hug with, I believe, Stephanie Courtney, acting as another producer. This bit isn’t very satisfying. I remember promos making use of this footage in a more effective way, featuring footage of the actors acting scary that wasn’t in the actual episode. They end it with a clip of Will Forte from season one gently saying “I’m a demon”, a line I was never super fond of. Brandon please don’t put that on our discord soundboard. Please.
Noted wad Rainn Wilson appears in a sketch about an Encyclopedia that just lists numbers. Honestly, this is an okay sketch. But my aversion to Rainn Wilson is just too strong. I don’t want misery inflicted on anyone, but I would experience significant schadenfreude if he were to ever be found out to be a despicable human being. I envision white supremacist compound for him, with maybe a smattering of sex trafficking. I’m not saying I’ve heard anything; I’m unfairly profiling him based on finding his personality abrasive in interviews. I remember growing to despise him while listening to The Office DVD commentary tracks. Why the fuck was I listening to The Office DVD commentary tracks, anyway? I believe both Rainn Wilson and the Dunngeon set (I’ll be surer when I see the episode again) gets reused in Tim & Eric Nite Live.
Pound for pound, this might be the weakest episode yet. But it’s far from worthless.

New Year’s First on the First (January 1, 2008)
On January 1st, Adult Swim did a cool marathon where they played the first episode of each of their shows in reverse chronological order of when they aired. This included a rebroadcast of the original Brak Show pilot “Leave It to Brak”, which was later reworked into “Mr. Bawk Ba Gawk”. The pilot version had drawn backgrounds instead of photo-realistic ones. This was the first time they aired this pilot on Adult Swim proper. It’s original airing was a stealth showing on Cartoon Network, before Adult Swim was a thing.
Notably, they sometimes swapped the first-aired episode for the first-produced episode. Also I can pick out a few things where they didn’t seem to always go by strict reverse chronological order, at least not by air date. Here’s the schedule (as always, thank you swimpedia):
11:00 Fat Guy Stuck in Internet: Threshold
11:15 The Drinky Crow Show: Mermaid
11:30 Superjail!: Bunny Love
11:45 That Crook'd 'Sipp: That Tree of Strife
12:00 Xavier: Renegade Angel: What Life D-D-Doth
12:15 Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!: Dads
12:30 Saul of the Mole Men: A New Friend
12:45 Assy McGee: Murder by the Docks
1:00 Frisky Dingo: Meet Killface
1:15 Metalocalypse: The Curse of Dethklok
1:30 Moral Orel: The Lord's Greatest Gift
1:45 Minoriteam: Operation Blackout!
2:00 Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil: He's Not the Messiah, He's a DJ
2:15 12 oz. Mouse: Hired
2:30 Squidbillies: This Show Is Called Squidbillies
2:45 Robot Chicken: The Deep End
3:00 Tom Goes to the Mayor: Bear Traps
3:15 Perfect Hair Forever: Perfect Hair Forever
3:30 Stroker & Hoop: C.A.R.R. Trouble (a.k.a. Feelin' Dirty)
4:00 The Venture Bros.: The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay (Director's Cut)
4:30 Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Rabbot
4:45 Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law: Bannon Custody Battle

Guess my most Beloved and Beloathed movies
Stolen from @woolandflax Beloved:
1. Wall-E Cute robots in space
2. White Christmas “Let’s just say we’re doing it for an old pal in the army.”
3. Coraline Buttons (threatening)
4. Howl’s Moving Castle Local old lady goes on a cleaning rampage, more at 11.
5. Lord of the Rings Hardcore marathons only.
6. Lilo and Stitch Chaos gremlin gets adopted
7. Probably the best Disney’s done of a book-to-movie adaptation, imo
8. The CGI movie “reboot” that looks like 2D animation and rejuvenated my soul.
9. I, Robot Man distrusts Machine, Machine has an existential crisis, both are Going Through It
10. Treasure Planet SPACE PIRATES, LET’S GOOOOOOO
Beloathed (kind of):
1. Despicable Me 2 Unnecessary romance and cash grab tic-tacs have ruined it.
2. CGI animated movie about forest animals that feels like an uncomfortable fever dream
3. The Lion King remake “Live action remake,” stop being pretentious, it’s a crappy CGI movie
4. Never really saw the appeal as to why this movie was everywhere in pop culture in the mid-2000′s. I thought it was boring.
5. Hallmark Christmas Movies in general If you are watching this channel, every movie is the Same Movie.
6. Widower and single dad has affair with his brother’s girlfriend while on vacation, but it’s okay because TRUE LOVE or something, idk, I hate these kinds of movies
7. Psycho Actually a good horror movie, but I was paranoid of bathrooms for a LONG time and I will not watch it again.
8. Jumanji (the old one) I’m not saying this is a bad movie by any stretch, but this Robin Williams movie gave me an irrational fear of elephants as a small child.
9. Home On The Range Disney tried to return to 2D animation for this one, but it was so bland that I can’t even remember most of the plot. Moo.
10. Australian book to movie adaptation. Two kids lost in the outback after their father tries to kill them. (I’ll be impressed if anyone gets this one. I saw it in my high school literature class)

Jurassic park, the Goonies, Dirty dancing and Jumanji for the film ask
Ah! Thank you, anon! I've seen all four of these ones:
Jurassic Park
All time fave, I re-watch it pretty regularly and it always stands up. I can't think of any other movie that's married science, wonder, humanity and genuine fun as well as it.
Also I work with puppeteers quite regularly at my day job, and knowing the care and thought that goes into that as an artform is a huge part of why I think it's stood the test of time so well.
The Goonies
I always feel like I watched The Goonies too late. I was in my early twenties when I saw it and I watched it in a pretty specific context (a few of my older [gen x] co-workers who were really good friends used to have Nostalgia Nights where they'd watch the movies they grew up with. They invited me to one to watch this after learning I'd never seen it and a bunch of stuff happened which shifted my opinions on one of them in particular, and I did Not Go Again, but that's a Whole Thing, haha). But yeah, I thought it was fine, I guess, but I don't think it's aged as well as a lot of its contemporaries.
Dirty Dancing
Fun fact: I love dance movies. Me and my sister grew up religiously watching everything from Save the Last Dance and Centerstage so I have a huge soft spot for the genre, even though I have 0 sense of rhythm, haha. Plus, y'know Time of My Life is a certified banger.
Jumanji
Another absolute fave, anon, and in my Top Five Robin Williams movies. I wish they still made family movies like it.
Send me iconic movies you think everyone should’ve seen in their lives and i have to respond honestly if i’ve seen them

John: Answer chums.
author commentary:
You have to solve the dilemma on the game's terms, in the same way you had to just keep rolling dice or whatever in Jumanji to banish Robin Williams back to the jungle. (The children failed, Robin Williams is still among us.)
I'm going to declare "dirty wifebeaterly" as a quality descriptor everyone needs in their vocabulary. Also I feel a little weird making humorous remarks in the vicinity of lengthy Dave rants. It's kind of like too many cooks in the kitchen, you know?

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
This blog post contains topics of depression and suicide. Reader discretion is advised.
One of my favorite actors is Robin Williams; I grew up watching his movies time and time again. My family and I often take road trips in our RV, and every trip we watch William’s movie RV (and, yes, I mean every single time). I can probably quote the entire movie of Jumanji. I would like to think that Williams is one of the greatest actors of my lifetime. However, on Aug. 11, 2014, Robin Williams took his own life.
Being only twelve years old at the time, I did not have a very good grasp of the concepts of depression and suicide. I could not wrap my head around why someone would take their own life. Now, eight years later, I have seen my own friends and family struggle with these things. I realize now that anyone can experience depression and suicidal thoughts, even if it is not blatantly obvious. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, suicide is number 12 among the leading causes of death among Americans.
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. In only two years of college, I have seen the devastating effects of depression and suicide among my classmates. Roughly one in five college students has struggled with suicidal thoughts according to Verywell Mind. Because the stigma against mental health is still at large, everyone needs to know the warning signs of depression and suicide.
Depression and suicidal thoughts can be brought about because of extreme stress, traumatic events, or biological factors. Someone thinking about suicide may isolate themselves and stop doing things they once enjoyed. They may engage in risky behaviors, such as substance use, and show decreased academic and work performance. They may even discuss thoughts of death with those around them.
Robin Williams once said, “I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy. Because they know what it feels like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anybody else to feel like that.” During the month of September, make it a goal to spread awareness about suicide prevention. And remember to check up on those around you, because you very well might save their life.

I’m always so exhausted after finishing a Persona game. Like it’ll just consume my thoughts and time almost completely for about two weeks and when I finish, all the other things in my life that were being held at arm’s length for a bit come rushing back into my brain at mach 1000 and knock me ass over teakettle. Like I ALWAYS feel like Robin Williams in Jumanji

Hey hey hey, fam, friends, and followers! :D
It is I, your humble but most unreliable fandom attendee for the past year. Apologies!
I’ll make it quick and present you a picture of my tiny feet enjoying the mid-day sun of Vancouver during the forest fires last August, hence the fogginess, a really weird lightning, and an eery sun.
Perfectly suited for today’s The 100 season 6 kick-off!
Tagging @insufficient-earth-skills and @weavemeamyrtlecrown for now but I’ll be more than happy to rekindle old connections and to start new ones!
Gimme a shout out, so I can see who is still here, who has changed their names in new, creative ways, get a grasp on who has vacated to Twitter, and who will suffer through season 6 with me.
Let the fun begin and happy BFSN!

Yes, Loki series director Kate Herron knows about your fan theory about the show, the analysis you posted to social media. No, she won’t tell you what she thinks about it, or whether you were right.
“I follow all the conversations on Twitter,” Herron told Polygon in an interview shortly after Loki’s season 1 finale. “I don’t always weigh in on them, because I made the show, so they don’t want me weighing in like, ‘Actually, guys…’ I think that’s the whole point of art — it should be up for debate and discussion.”
[Ed. note: Spoilers ahead for season 1 of Loki.]
Loki has been a hit for streaming service Disney Plus — episode 6 of the show, the final installment for this season, was reportedly watched by more households than any of the platform’s MCU finales to date. The series has been a popular source of fan conjecture and argument, with one particularly big rolling conversation focusing on whether the budding romantic relationship between trickster Asgardian Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and his alternate-universe counterpart Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) is a form of incest.
Herron is willing to speak up about that one. “My interpretation of it is that they’re both Lokis, but they aren’t the same person,” she says. “I don’t see them as being like brother and sister. They have completely different backgrounds […] and I think that’s really important to her character. They sort of have the same role in terms of the universe and destiny, but they won’t make the same decisions.”
Herron says thematically, Loki falling for Sylvie is an exploration of “self-love,” but only in the sense that it’s Loki learning to understand his own motives and integrity. “[The show is] looking at the self and asking ‘What makes us us?’” Herron says. “I mean, look at all the Lokis across the show, they’re all completely different. I think there’s something beautiful about his romantic relationship with Sylvie, but they’re not interchangeable.”
Directing the final kiss between the two characters was a complicated process because it had to communicate something about each of them over the course of just a few seconds. Herron says the primary goal was creating a safe, comfortable environment for Hiddleston and Di Martino, and after that, she had to think about how to bring across Loki and Sylvie’s conflicting goals in that moment.
“It’s an interesting one, right?” she says. “Emotionally, from Sylvie’s perspective, I think it’s a goodbye. But it’s still a buildup of all these feelings. They’ve both grown through each other over the last few episodes. It was important to me that it didn’t feel like a trick, like she was deceiving him. She is obviously doing that, on one hand, but I don’t feel the kiss is any less genuine. I think she’s in a bad place, but her feelings are true.”
Herron says directing Hiddleston in the scene mostly came down to discussing the speech Loki gives Sylvie before the kiss. “That was really important, showing this new place for Loki,” Herron says. “In the first episode, he’s like, ‘I want the throne, I want to rule,’ and by episode 6, he isn’t focused on that selfish want. He just wants her to be okay.”
Loki writer and producer Eric Martin recently tweeted that he wished the show had been able to focus more time on two of its secondary characters, Owen Wilson’s Time Variance Authority agent Mobius M. Mobius, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Renslayer. “I wanted to explore her more deeply and really see their relationship,” he says, “But covid got in the way and we just didn’t have time.”
Asked if Loki and Sylvie’s relationship suffered from similar necessary edits, Herron says it’s true that the show’s creators and audience still don’t know everything Sylvie went through to make her so different from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s original version of Loki. “We’ve seen her as a child, but she’s lived for thousands and thousands of years, in apocalypses on the run,” she says. “I think there’s so much more to delve into with Sylvie […] You’re filling in the blanks. You see [her on the planet] Lamentis, and it’s horrific. And you’re like, “Well, what kind of person would she be, growing up in apocalypses? What kind of personality would that give her?”
Herron says Sylvie’s backstory actually reminds her of the 1995 movie Jumanji, where a young boy is sucked into a magical board game in 1969, and emerges 26 years later as a full-grown man, played by with typical manic energy by Robin Williams. “It’s such a weird reference, but…” she says. “He’s a little boy when he ends up captive in that game, and when he comes out, it’s obviously been a life experience. With Sylvie, it’s similar. She was a child when she had to go on the run, so she’s had a very difficult life. I would love to see more of it. As Eric said, she’s a rich character, there’s so much to be explored.”
Herron says, though, that during her time on the show, material about Sylvie was added rather than cut — specifically, those scenes of her as a child, being kidnapped by the TVA. “This was before my time, but I know in the writers’ room, there were lots of avenues exploring Sylvie on the run and what her life was like,” Herron says. “I wouldn’t want to speak more to those, because I wasn’t there when they were being discussed. But something wasn’t in there that was important to me — I felt we should see her [history] in the TVA. Me and the team were talking about how it made complete sense, because episode 4 is all about twisting the idea that the TVA might be good on its head. And so that’s something that came in later, once I joined, was seeing her as a child. I think we needed to see that, not to understand her completely, but to get an idea of her motivations, why she’s so angry at this place.”
Talking more broadly about the series finale, Herron says the last few episodes weren’t as heavily referential as the first episodes, which she intended as “a love letter to sci-fi.” While early images like the TVA’s interrogation rooms had specific visual references from past science fiction, episode 6’s locations were drawn more from collaborations with the crew.
“The idea of the physical timeline being circular, our storyboard artists came up with that,” Herron says. “I had in the scripts, ‘We move through space to the end of time,” and then me and [storyboard artist Darrin Denlinger] discussed how we could play with the idea of time, while also adding MCU nods. He was like, ‘What if the timeline is circular?’ I think that’s such a striking image, like the Citadel at the End of Time is the needle on a record player. I just thought that was such a cool image, but it wasn’t necessarily taken from anything.”
Episode 6 focuses heavily on the mysterious figure He Who Remains and his citadel, a space she says was largely conceived by production designer Kasra Farahani. “I remember he brought in the art of the Citadel, and I thought it was beautiful,” Herron says. “He said, ‘The Citadel has been carved from an actual meteorite,’ which I thought was such an inspired idea. And He Who Remains’ office is the only finished portion of it.”
She says there are only a few direct homages in episode 6, including the zoom shot through space, which directly referenced a similar sequence in Robert Zemeckis’ 1997 film Contact.
“And then I have my Teletubbies reference for episode 5,” Herron says. “I wanted the Void to feel like an overgrown garden, like a kind of forgotten place. And I realized I’d pitched it as the British countryside. I remember trying to explain it to ILM, who did the visual effects, and saying, ‘Oh, you know, it’s like the Teletubbies. It’s just rolling hills, but they go on forever.’ That actually was quite a helpful reference in the end, which is funny.”
Asked for her favorite set memory from shooting the season, Herron says it comes down to Tom Hiddleston starting a mania for physical exertion before takes. “Sometimes he runs around set to get himself in the right mindset before he performs,” she says. “He does pushups. You know, you’re going into an action scene, you want to look like you’ve just been running. And it became infectious across all the cast. We’ve got so much footage of — I think Jack [Veal] ended up doing it, who plays Kid Loki. I’ve got [shots of] him and Sophia doing pushups and squats, just to get ready. It was so funny watching that echo across all the cast. I think all of them ended up doing those exercises with him at some point. It was so funny.”
“That might be my favorite set story, but it’s honestly, not a sweet one,” she adds. “I would say my favorite thing is his enthusiasm. He’s a very kind empathetic person. We were filming this in quite tough circumstances, a lot of people were far from home and isolating, and he brought this warmth and energy and joy to the set every day. And I think that made everyone feel very safe and very bonded. I’m forever grateful to him for doing that.”
