Loyalty can be a fatal flaw

Okay, so from what i remember (its been a couple years since ive read the books) Percy’s (from percy jackson and the olympians) fatal flaw was that he was too loyal. Now, i dont think this was capitalized on well because i dont remember it ever causing him much strife?? Correct me if im wrong but it was never fatal that he was loyal.

HOWEVER, this does not mean that loyalty can’t be fatal. It just means Percy’s loyalty wasn’t fatal. I can see loyalty being fatal in two ways (if you think of more lmk):

1.) you are loyal to the wrong people. This seems like the most obvious type. You get attached to the wrong sort of person who’s like evil or under appreciates you or is overall not a great person to be undyingly loyal to. You end up in a bad situation. You’re working for people whose values contradict yours but you cant betray this person who you love so much so you end up doing horrible things anyway. OR you completely buy into it and are completely brainwashed because you believe this person could never be wrong. You will do anything for them and that's NOT a good thing. (You are a villain/henchman OR maybe youre just in a garden variety toxic relationship. Who’s to say. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2.) you are loyal to someone to the detriment of that person. You think you know best and are trying to help but you are not. You are loyal in that youll never give this person up but you are not loyal to their wishes. Full sorta yandere and “i know best” condescension. This would end up fatal cause youve either ruined the person you loved and cared for OR youve gone to jail/died in a violent altercation. So, Percy didnt fall into either of these pitfalls as he was loyal to the right people and wasnt loyal to an unhealthy degree. But that doesnt mean it can never be fatal.
