People seem not to understand that I am only still alive under great duress The only reason I don't simply end it myself is because I lack the audacity to do it I also think I'd fail at it. Naji Chalhoub

This piece of art is by the artist called Naji Chalhoub. When I first saw this piece of artwork it made me feel creepy because this face has such intense lines and the dark layers of colour makes it look so mysterious. This piece reminds me of a depressed person because there facial features just look so lost and as if there losing touch with reality. Furthermore, Naji Chalhoub uses such dull colours creating his artwork creating this feeling that the person he has drawn is miserable. When I look at his work it makes me feel curious yet downhearted. The reason I feel downhearted because of how isolated the drawings looks as well as how broken that person looks too. It looks as if that person has lost someone or felt some kind of sadness. I felt curious because again I had so many questions pop into my head when looking at this piece. For example, what has happened to this person? Haas he/she seen something? Why do they look so depressed? Have they lost someone or something? I just love artwork like this because so many question go around your mind and you want to know all these answers but you’ll never get them. Naji Chalhoub created this work using biro or some type of pen and paper. My eyes are drawn to the dark eyes because they look like they can see right through as if they can see your soul.  Additionally, his work reminds me of another artist called Francis Bacon because they like to draw people screaming, shouting or someone in distress.
