The finale of DuckTales (2017) is hilarious to me because while I do understand why FOWL made the choices they made, I just can’t help but think about the irony
Bradford: the world is in constant chaos on unpredictability!
Bradford: most of this is connected to Scrooge McDuck and his family!
Bradford: Scrooge’s family just keeps getting bigger and bigger and so does this problem!
Bradford: we must stop this!!
Bradford: now let’s achieve this by cloning Scrooge a daughter and making his already growing family even larger!
Black Heron: sounds good to me, I’m really just coming along for the ride

So I started thinking of an AU where Della didn't take the Spear of Selene and the bois grew up with their entire family and now I'm thinking....
In this AU, F.O.W.L. wouldn't have seen the need to make April/Webby
Not hear me out
Cause Webby and the bois are the same age yeah? But we don't know exactly who was born first. We know the bois hatched in April 15 (HA! April!) but we don't know when Project #87 started. It's totally possible Project #87 got started after the bois were born
No okay listen to me
F.O.W.L. needed Scrooge's heir, right? But an "heir" doesn't necessarily have to be a direct child, it can be a niece or a nephew too, the show itself says so. Scrooge refers to them all as potential heirs.
So F.O.W.L. didn't need Scrooge to be a father really, they just needed Scrooge to have a child (or multiple children) in his family to potentially consider as his heir. This is why I believe Webby wasn't made until after Della left with the Spear of Selene.
Before Della got lost, Scrooge had 5 potential heirs right there. The twins and the unhatched Duck bois. F.O.W.L. didn't need to clone Scrooge, they just needed to wait until the eggs hatched and see if they could manipulate the triplets into getting them the papyrus.
But then Della got lost, one less potential heir. And Donald had a falling out with his uncle and left the mansion, one less potential heir. And the triplets were hatched and raised in the houseboat, without meeting Scrooge or even knowing they were related. Three less potential heirs.
No potential heirs
So now F.O.W.L. has a problem. And what do they do? That's when they make April/Webby.
So if Della didn't get lost and the family didn't break apart, then they wouldn't have made Webby.
More evidence to this is the fact that we see that Scrooge was living alone when Beakley moved in with him. Della and Donald were all already out of the picture before Beakley came to his door with a child.
Della knows Beakley as "Agent 22", she's surprised that she's the housekeeper now. So, we know that she didn't move in until after Della's disappearance.
So, in an AU where the Spear of Selene didn't happen, there's no Webby.

Bradford: I am pleased to report that F.O.W.L’s goal for total control of the world is progressing on schedule. But this is no time for celebration for there is still much for us to accomplish. It is imperative that you all complete this next task discreetly and efficently. I need you all to kidnap Santa Claus.
Rockerduck: …
Steelbeak: …
Phantom Blot: …
Gandra: …I’m sorry but do you think you can repeat that?
Bradford: Your next mission will be to kidnap Santa Claus both discreetly and ef-
Gandra: {trying to hold back laughter} Efficiently. Yeah. Yeah. I got that.
Black Heron: I’m sorry Agent Dee; do you find our evil plan amusing?
Gandra: I mean…it’s kinda hard to take Director Buzzard seriously when he’s standing up there saying we have to “kidnap Santy Claus”
Bradford: I didn’t say “Santy Claus” and this plan is not evil!
Steelbeak: I mean we are talking about kidnapping Santa Claus here
Bradford: And?
Steelbeak: Well he is the guy who decides who is naughty and who is nice
Phantom Blot: Who does that man think he is to decide whether my actions are good or bad!?
Rockerduck: I have to agree with Phantom Blot here. What’s considered good and bad is always changing. There were a number of things that I did and believed in back in my day that is considered bad these days and vice versa. The whole world is topsy-turvy now if you ask me
Phantom Blot: Do not side with me…
Gandra: Tough shit, Rockerduck. Slavery is bad. Gay marriage is legal. You’re just gonna have to live with it.
Bradford: Can we please get back on track?
Steelbeak: Right. Anyway, if we do this job we risk being put on the naughty list for life which I say sounds pretty evil
Black Heron: Steelbeak. Everything we do here is evil!
Bradford: No. No. Everything we do here is not evil. It’s all necessary work in order to achieve our end goal.
Gandra: …So what you’re saying is that our work is a necessary ev-
Bradford: I do not want to hear another sarcastic comment from you, Agent Dee!
Pepper: Well I love this task, sir! We’re gonna kidnap the Sandy Claus!! But sir. May I ask why? Is it because he gives out presents for free every December 24th and that goes against your capitalist utopia or is this like the thing with your grandmother where you’re mad at him and blaming him for your bad childhood?
Bradford: If there are no other relevant questions, will you all just go already!?
Black Heron: We’ll get it done, Bradford. By the end of the night, Christmas will no longer be!
Bradford: THAT IS NOT THE END GOAL HERE! Besides we’re not eliminating Christmas. It’s a profitable season
Gandra: Right. Go capitalism. Do you need us to capture the Easter Bunny while we’re out?
Bradford: What did I just tell you, Agent Dee!? Everyone just go and get me Santa Claus and bring him back alive
Steelbeak: So if we accidentally kill this guy will one of us become the next Santa?
Bradford: Leave. Now.
Pepper: I think that’s if we put on his coat, Steely. If that’s the case I vote Blotty to be the next Santa!
Bradford: EVERYONE LEAVE NOW!

Blot: Hey, Pepper. We should make plans.
Pepper: EVIL PLANS!?
Blot: Oh, uh… no. Casual plans. Like we could go rollerblading on a Saturday and see a movie that night.

AU where Gandra and Steelbeak scape from The Library of Alexandria after Bradford's defeat and they take charge of the new F.O.W.L. with Gandra as the leader and Steelbeak as the second in command.
F.O.W.L. becomes a moral grey organization and is no longer after the McDuck/Duck family.

So, remember the interrogation scene in the finale 'The Last Adventure' where Heron brought in a captured Beakley to Webby (who was disguised as June)?
Webby had recently found out from snooping in secret F.O.W.L. footage that she wasn't Beakley's granddaughter. If I remember right, when Heron first brought Beakley in to be interrogated, I think Webby quietly expressed shock to see her, but she didn't seem actually horrified to see her captured, shackled, and injured.
I know that even before Beakley spilled the whole truth about Webby's whole life being a lie a minute later, Webby already felt hurt, angry, and betrayed by this woman she thought she knew, and that's why she didn't have much room in her to feel afraid for Beakley's wellbeing/life... especially after Beakley gave her the answers she demanded about "April", which is probably why she didn't really react after Heron knocked her out right a minute later.
So, here's an interesting, but dark scenario. What if Heron (with Bradford's approval, tho it's Heron that would really be all for this) told Webby to torture Beakley after that, knowing how vulnerable and confused and hurt and furious and messed-up the cruel truth made her?
Do you think Webby would actually do it? I can definitely see her at least hesitating ("What? N-no, I can't!") And Heron and Bradford would be like "Of course you can, April. This woman lied to you your entire life. You never really knew her. You don't owe this trash anything. Let it all out, release all the rage and hate you feel..."
OOOH, and what if they told her they would only tell her the other answers she desperately sought- why she, May, and June were made- if she (or all three of them) tortured Beakley (maybe through electrocution, idk)?? 👀
May and June would definitely not hesitate, mostly because of their blind loyalty to their "parents" and because they were just as desperate for answers about the reason for their existence. But do you think Webby would join them?
Honestly, I can sort of see Webby going along with it too, though with difficulty. She might allow her anger and pain to just consume her from Bradford and Heron's manipulation, and go "YOU LIED TO ME! MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIE!" and just do it. But I can also see everything- her whirlwind of emotions, Beakley's screams of pain, the conflict she feels between rage for this woman and still loving her as the one who always raised her- all taking a toll on her very shortly, before stopping and fleeing.
What do you guys think?

Huey separated at birth au where he is raised by Bradford instead of Uncle Donald. someone pls write this
- Bradford knew sending Della to the moon would break the family, but he needs to know for sure (it doesn’t work though. Donald and Scrooge bond over the fact that they lost two family members so Dewey and Louie live at the mansion their whole lives)
- Bradford has one of his weird clones take care of Huey because he doesn’t have time and simply doesn’t care. The leaves Huey to basically raise himself once he is able too.
- Huey finds the jwg and loves it and reads it over and over again. But one day Bradford sees him with it and takes it away. Huey gets it back ofc but he starts hiding it under his hat.
- Bradford sees a lot of Isabella Finch in Huey and resents him for it.
- The other villains take pleasure in making Huey’s life miserable. They don’t even call him Huey, but rather kid or child or annoying.
- Huey is minpualted into hating his family, with Bradford telling him all sorts of lies
- Dewey, Louie and Webby run into Huey when at a funso trip. They’re super excited to have found him, Bradford doesn’t make it easy to get Huey home.
- Donald literally does not let Huey out of his site after finding him, determined not to make the same mistake twice.
- Huey finally gets to join the junior woodchucks!

my friend, casually watching Ducktales 2017 as we play cards together: "so what's the deal with that dime?"
me: "That is Scrooge's number one dime, the first dime he ever earned. Back in Glasgow, he was a young shoeshine, and he worked for hours on Burt's boots. In return, he received his number one dime. That dime inspired him to move to America to seek his fortune, and become the businessman he is today!"
my friend: "... oh cool!"

When it comes to which DuckTales characters I think like to curse, Pepper is not one of them
However
I do like to think when she’s really upset with someone she will say: “Please pardon my French, but you really pissed in my cornflakes!!”

so if the theory’s about Bradford manipulating Della through her childhood is true…then how would Della and Bradford’s friendship be AFTER Della comes home?
I can imagine like, a few days after Della comes home, her and HDL visit the bin with Scrooge and Della just gets really friendly with Bradford. Like she treats him like an old friend. And everyone is completely confused because no one expected a friendship between Della and Bradford.
I also wonder how Della would react to the information that Bradford was the one to end her search. Would Bradford try to worm his way out of it??? What would his excuse even be?? Would Della be angry, sad, a bit of both??
Honestly there is so much potential with the aftermath of Bradford manipulating Della and that only scratches the surface!!! I don’t think I even have the words rn to describe how she’d feel about Bradford being the head of F.O.W.L!!
